To whom it may concern,Dead Letter unlocks our collective past, pulling at our heart strings with Americana nostalgia in spaces that completely transport you through sites, sounds, drinks, and more. But what’s unique is each show feels a bit like an episode of Twin Peaks. You’re head is one time period but your body is in another, and by the end of the hour you’ve somehow achieved the perfect equilibrium. Who knew traveling into the past was the trick to authentic connection in the present!? Each time I’m here it’s a new experience, I get a chance to explore a new side of my past and present I didn’t know existed with a set of strangers or friends, or strangers who become friends. And don’t forget Cargo - the dance room we’ve all been craving with unparalleled sound and vibes.I’ll be back, will I see you there? XOXO

We spent well over $100 for this and felt ripped off by the experience. The employee who was supposed to give us the initial monologue welcoming us to the event, was rude to several people in our group at different times, snapping at us and making us feel uncomfortable before even entering the tiny rooms where you are supposed to discuss topics with strangers like trust issues and getting cheated on…We’ve been to Sleep No More several times and love it so we were really excited to have an intimate immersive experience like this in our neighborhood, but this was just so underwhelming and disappointing.

Dear X,Are you considering a visit to the dead letter office? My opinion is — dont hesitate! This immersive theater experience + bar was a great evening on the town, full of unexpected delights, great conversation, delicious food and drinks, and evocative scenic rooms. We went for the opening, arriving at 9 pm and staying laaaate and we had an absolute blast. Then we came back for the Halloween event and danced in the party room to a great DJ and met lots of interesting folks. However you choose to interact with it, No. 9 is a place to have memorable experiences, make awesome new friends, and have a wonderful only in NYC experience. Enjoy!

Dead Letter No. 9 wins you over from the moment you enter the door; a whimsical post office of your dreams, the staff is all incredibly friendly, and if youre in the know, you can ship yourself off to a new place and time and have some of the best curated conversations with strangers that you have ever had. The environments they ship you to are full and delight all of the senses, and the actors do an amazing job of both transporting you and embracing you within each given time and place. I highly recommend you check out not only the bar, but the integrated experience as well!

To whom it may concern,You may not be aware that you have a package awaiting you at this facility. Perhaps you are curious about what it may be. Or where it may take you. I wholeheartedly invite you to find out.You dont have to trust a stranger. But youll want to arrive earlier than the booked time, and engage fully with whatever situation that may present itself upon your arrival. Fortune favors the bold.Safe travels,J.

Things I did at no 9:Laid in the top bunk while listening to a boom box play Iron and WineDrank bourbon mixed with apple cider under the desert starsDebated whether a donkey is a good indoor petThis show is a tug of war between nostalgia and the present moment. Conversations are at once familiar and novel. You wanna be the main character? Cool. Rather sit back and marvel at the immersive environments? Great.Stop in and see for yourself.

To Whom it May Concern at Dead Letter No.9,There’s nothing worse than the agony of a lost package. I know this firsthand. I still think about a package I was meant to receive in July of this year, which contained—among other things—a love letter which I will never get to read.I know there are certain things we simply can’t change; certain things that we will never receive, even if we felt they were meant for us. Still, I find myself holding onto the hope that one day, that package will arrive on my doorstep, or better yet, at your facility—where lost things become found, and missed connections are restored.Maybe nothing arrives late. Maybe everything arrives exactly on time. I’ll keep visiting 63 Grand St., and keep returning to No.9, because I know every time I will discover something different—a message meant just for me.Sincerely Yours,N

GO.I won’t spoil it for you - just go to this amazing immersive experience that involves the people from Sleep No More.My advice: lean into it to get the most out of it, and have some of the most meaningful conversations with people you wouldn’t otherwise meet (and the conversations flow easily for many reasons). Introverts and extroverts alike will love it.We started and ended our journey at the attached bar. Inventive bar food - delicious and uniquely presented (no surprise when you learn the guy from Lilia, Chez Ma Tante, etc is involved).

Went to Latin Rythms night with several friends for a bday bar-hopping night. Really nice place - love the decor, delicious reasonable food, great drinks! And these little rooms behind doors throughout the venue, each with different vibes to hang out in smaller groups…oh! And Sameer (manger) was super helpful and very cool. Will be back for sure!
