Awesome venue with plenty of space. The sound mix was top-notch. Could hear everything clear from anywhere in the venue. Free water, huge gender neutral bathroom, multiple bars, outdoor space for hanging in between sets, coat check...I really enjoyed my night there seeing Jesus Piece and Sanguisugabogg and will definitely keep an eye out for future shows. My one gripe is that there was no phone service at all inside, which could pose a risk in case of emergency.
What a great name for a music venue. Went to see TWRP, had a great time, security was tight, getting in and leaving was fast. The viewing was decent, the bar in the back was long and we were always taken care of. The general population that we shared the concert with were decent people. They had great control of the sound, it was crisp! Looking forward to enjoying the next concert here!
My absolute favorite club in the whole world. It is always so comfortable, music is always poppin’, the fact of if you do not like one DJ in one room, you can simply keep moving around to different areas. Drinks are PRICEY!!! Pre game before going in, and have 1 drink when you arrive, then WATER GIRL! 420 friendly in outdoor spaces, get there early (by 11:30 PM) and you will be able to find parking in the area! See you thereeeeeeee
Great venue and an amazing band to see. Was a great honor and bucket list band seeing sleepytime gorilla museum. The sound was great, not too crowded on the floor. Lights werent seizure inducing nor the fog machines choking you. Everything was goldilocks, juuust right. I would love to attend another show there. The bar was pretty alright and they had an outdoor smoking section. What more do you need for a concert venue?
Saw Jhariah, Pollyanna, and Save Face in concert here! The venue was such a comforting place to be. Signs that reassured it was a safe space makes me want to come back for even a casual event. The bartenders were so warm and kind, and the drinks were tasty and affordable. Hoping to see more shows here in the future as well!
Awesome venue. Security was chill and there’s an adequate number of bathrooms. It gets real crowded during certain shows so be prepared for that. Really good vibes. However, drinks and water bottles cost an exorbitant amount of money. They do offer free water towards the end of the night which is nice. There’s also a nice patio area to cool off and chill if you need a break. Really great and highly recommend. Come here instead of the Mirage.
A really cool space for shows. They allow moshing and stage dives, so if thats the vibe of the band thats playing, watch out for shoes and elbows. Cant wait to go back!
Great vibes! One of my favorite clubs in the city. Plenty of different interesting acts come through here. Good sound quality and light work in multiple rooms. Security is thorough but courteous. Drink menu is good, prices are NYC club prices, cant really complain with how fair the tix prices are and how well the venue is run. Inclusive gender neutral bathrooms are cool. Cant wait to come back in summer!!!
Elsewhere was an absolutly wonderful Venue. Intimate space, amazing sound, and friendly staff. It is also quite well air conditioned which is quite nice. Overall a fantastic concert experience. Looking forward to making it back here again someday!!!
Elsewhere is my favorite music venue, I go frequently and the joy that I experience when dancing at concerts and DJ sets is unmatched. Elsewhere books a wide variety of upcoming talent , there is something for everyone! The light shows are spectacular, and there are multiple rooms with different vibes, you can feel like you’re bar hopping while being in the same venue. Staff and security are very kind and ensure that it is a safe place. There is such a lovely community at Elsewhere and I am fortunate to have made many friends at this venue who share the same love for music. 10/10 would recommend ⭐️
Perfect music hall. I was afraid I would get swallowed up in the crowd, but this place is just the right size to get a big crowd and not get lost. Bar system is efficient with wristbands, and the prices are not as bad as most event venues. Side door to the left of the stage was easy enough to get through to smoke a quick joint.
I attend for Soul Summit, a different dj or performer. It is a beautiful place that can hold events indoors or rooftop. Theres a small loft for seating and to order food cozy never had a bad night
First time not feeling safe at a concert. Disruptive drunk was left to run wild all night scream shouting about 9/11 and other disruptive stuff. A bar tender fresh out of school could have told he was too far gone but they kept serving him. The venue is too small to simply move away from someone acting this way, and when I asked him to stop because he was literally louder than the music, he got rude and aggressive. I reported this to the bar tender who did absolutely nothing so I had to walk outside and talk to security myself, at which point relaxing with the concert was a lost cause. Security deserves a (positive) shout out, as when they were actually informed, they did an excellent job. I have never, ever had an experience like this at a venue, and I don’t think I will be back.
Went here over the summer with a friend to see a band - it was very clean and a quick and easy process to get inside! We didn’t wait in any lines, we were in the smaller venue space and it was really cool and intimate experience- definitely an awesome music venue I check out to see smaller / newer artists
Ive gone to the venue twice and had a lovely time on both occasions. The first time I went I saw dazey and the scouts and the second time I saw camping in Alaska. Zone 1 is pretty small, I left with huge bruises across my thighs from being pressed against the stage but it was totally worth it to be front row for camping in Alaska. The only thing I have to say is that the bathroom is completely pitch black. It has like one neon light to illuminate the whole thing.
Concert listed at 4 (and also 6) starts at 8. Theres no phone number to check. Everybody at the venue was nice and the venue seems nice. Wasted an hour getting here only to arrive 4 hours early.Edit: yes, concerts have openers, but its usually an hour; its bonkers to list a concert a 4 and actually have the main act go on 8-10pm. Please refund my ticket.
Really great club, however the lights are too intense. I go out a lot but this was excessive, non stop strobes and flashing. Lots of restrooms and the crowd was really young. Id go back for something good.
ATTENTION ALL YOU LOVERS OF DANCE!Come and check out not just your coats and your worries, but check in to your emotions and your “vibes” because here peopel FEEL the music. Go and dance your heart out.The venue itself requires either the DICE app with your ticket OR if that’s too hard you can just give them your name. There are 4 rooms on the inside and a outdoor rooftop. Each room brings a variety of DJs and styles of genres EDM.Will be returning soon.
Good venue but I just wish they’d post the set times a bit earlier in advance (like on the day of the concert) because I come in from New Jersey for concerts and there’s times where the last train / bus is at 11:15 and the person I want to see is on stage at 10:00 or whatever so I would appreciate if they could possibly find a way to figure out how to post the set times on the day of the show.
As a touring engineer I was so excited to mix in the main room at Elsewhere, but the crew we got were some of the laziest and most unhelpful people I ever met. Lights refused to push any cases, audio didn’t know the first thing about their system or console and didn’t care to help me or call someone who knew so I had to figure their room out by myself. When my show was over, house audio was supposed to handle a late night DJ set and they were nowhere to be found so I had to get involved to help out a show I had nothing to do with.At the end of the night we’re all supposed to pitch in to load out. Instead, their crew stood around drinking and smoking cigarettes inside while I pushed or carried every case down the block for an hour and a half, right past the lot of them, without a lick of help. Worst night of that tour, I know this all doesn’t matter to patrons but it was such a terrible experience that here I am leaving a google review.
“Attended” a concert here for the first time last night and probably had the worst experience of my life. Everything was fine getting in, but the two girls working the ID’s at the front were the worst. I left the venue because I got too hot and needed some air, I tried to go back in but apparently there is no “re-entry” at this small venue, which is weird in itself, especially if i innocently went outside for a max of 1-2 mins to catch my breath. The girls have me attitude, while being glued to their phone they just pointed to a pitch black sign on the pitch black wall that barely could read “all exits are final” and were completely disrespectful in their language and not reasonable what so ever. I missed the last hour of a 1.5 hour concert of someone i’ve wanted to see for 4 years. thanks so much personally to those two women that i will never return to this establishment and tell everyone i know to never go here.
No set times were emailed to my email or to my junk mail. Dice ticket said event started at 8 but the opener didn’t start til 9 and the main act’s set time was 10 pm. Nowhere on the ticket does it say that. I had my wristband and stamped wrist but they said if I l leave the venue I can’t get back in. I left without seeing anything bc I didn’t want to waste 2 hrs. Never again.
Elsewhere is one of the few “rooftop” bars in Brooklyn. This was my first time going & I went specifically for a concert. I loved the frozen mojito & fact that they had gender neutral bathrooms. This would be perfect for drinks on the weekends or happy hour but unless you come early, I wouldn’t necessarily come back for another concert as many of the attendees clearly weren’t there to support the artist & talked too much during their set. However, if you plan to come for food & drinks I would definitely recommend this venue as it’s also close to a lot of my favorite venues in Bushwick like Lot45, Brooklyn Beer Garden & others.
I really enjoy this venue. The atmosphere is pretty rad and it always sounds great however they really need to really get phone service for in the venue or provide free WiFi.
I had to leave early with my friend at the Cupcakke show today because not only did we not realize it was 16+ (aka minors) but one of the openers (Mel 4 Ever) took her top off and exposed her breasts to minors in the audience! I am disgusted especially as a gender non conforming queer/trans person they couldve easily made this event 18+ and it would’ve been fine. The fact that minors were here (which were many) and that this indecent exposure was okay is just vile to me. I wanted to experience this performer and Cupcakke but not with minors being there.
So lucky to see one of our favourite UK bands (Red Rum Club - check them out on Spotify) here while on a holiday to New York. It’s a small venue in Brooklyn so if you are staying on Manhattan be prepared for a metro ride or two. We had a drink and food before the gig but didn’t feel that we knew the area well enough to do anything but get back afterwards. The venue was great, about 200 people which was a real treat as they now play to 1000 plus crowds in the Uk. Really enjoyable evening.
Me and my friends had a terrible experience at this nightclub. The cloakroom attendant was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Not only did he toss our tickets on the ground when we retrieved our coats, but he also had an attitude the entire time. Its disappointing to see such poor customer service in a place thats supposed to be about having fun. I wont be returning, and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone else either.
The staff here are pretty cool and all but they arent too organized. couldnt see the opener because the line was just too long and they dont have a their operations streamlined. feel like they really push the limits with how many people can fit in here also. reluctant to come back but if the band is as good as the ones ive seen i would
This venue is awesome! Large, clean, cheap drinks. Theres a loft upstairs where you can get drinks or coffee and maybe some bites. I came here to watch a show and had a very good time overall. The people who work here are super friendly and there was enough room to dance and have a great time. If you want to get a bite to eat before the show I highly recommend checking out Bunker Vietnamese which is just a couple of blocks away.
This place sucks. I never leave negative reviews but they advertised a show as starting 3 hours earlier than when headliner actually came on, and they wouldnt allow re-entry if you realized you didnt want to stand there for 4 hours. They also charge $7 for a club soda
First time going to an event here. Really liked the multiple floors. They have 3 different places to hear music any given night, with the loft even providing food and places to sit. Multiple gender neutral bathrooms that were relatively clean, even had some nice art installations. As for the music and acoustics, I thought The Hall was wonderful. Went to see a DJ set and we were able to hear it loud and clear and find space where people werent on top of each other. Would definitely recommend!!!!
BEST club in all of NYC for the music, space, and audience! Everyone in the space is fun and respectful.Ive had a lot of friends perform here and always have a great time with the staff and leaders of Elsewhere. Thank you for creating a fun and safe club for us music loving partiers
Fantastic staff, security, and bartenders. All hail the booking agents and the admins who work their butts off to deliver. 5/5 stars for also allowing a feedback loop from members.
Me and my gf Went to see a kenya grace concert, (04/07/24) when looking at the location on maps we saw a pizza place across the street, and other little things on the same street. We thought it was a sketchy location but just assumed itd be fine. Only info on the website was that doors open at 8 and venue closes at 11. We get there around 6 because we thought we’d just sit in the pizza place until time… long story short the entire 5 block radius of the building is deserted. And the building it self was hard to find also the website doesnt have a set list with time stamps so we didnt know that kenya grace was going on at 10pm. Horrible venue purely off of location. We didnt stay for the concert sadly because we saw reviews about how past events were at that venue and to be blunt we didnt feel safe leaving our car on the street because of the crime activity close to the area. Hope she picks a different venue next time. But yea do not recommend at all !!!
Love this venue! My partner and I were able to see both Indigo De Souza and Dounia at Elsewhere, and we were up front for each show. It felt so intimate, as if we were on stage with the artists. The tickets were affordable, and the bar prices were pretty reasonable for a Brooklyn venue. They’ve got a huge all-gender restroom, so you aren’t waiting in line for an hour to use the toilet. There are also plenty of restaurants, stores and bars in walking distance to visit before or after the show! Would totally recommend this venue—you won’t be disappointed.
The Elsewhere place is an open air venue on the third floor roof. After walking through security you are given a wristband you have to link to a credit card to pay at the bar. They have a reasonable variety of drinks while bands perform in the corner, looking out at the Manhattan skyline. As night falls, the rooftop begins to glow and the atmosphere feels cool and intimate.I came for a band I enjoy. If another comes up, Ill definitely come back.
We went to the Roc Marci concert last night. Roc Marci and jay worthy put on a great performance. The atmosphere in the concert was excellent. The spot wasn’t overly crowded. It was very easy to get a drink at the bar. Finding parking was for my car was easy. I definitely would recommend this place to friends and family.
My sister was here and was getting harassed by someone and even though she expressed this to the security guards nothing was done. What is the point of having security guards if they are not going to help when someone is asking for it
I dont know what changed but Elsewheres quality has been rapidly declining. Security is like going through TSA, if TSA was staffed by a single employee who just learned about drivers licenses. Non-alcoholic drinks that cost as much as alcoholic drinks ($12 mocktails). Soldout show in the tiny 1st floor stage. 45-minute long intermission with nowhere to go because of how packed it was. And major sound problems that even the band was frustrated about.
I recently went here for a concert and the security and other team members were very accommodating for me. I am a person who is physical disabled and when I went in line one of the workers noticed I had a cane and immediately asked if I needed a chair or anything for inside. The club manager also spoke to me and offered many accommodations and even let me go into the venue early so I wouldn’t have to stand in the line. Everyone was so kind and considerate to me. I was very pleased with the treatment they offered me without even having to ask for it. Overall I had a great experience at elsewhere!! ♡
Awesome venue in the deep of brooklyn, really nice to see a mid sized venue like this here. This isnt any dive bar w a stage, and its not the garden. Roof top bar that can be seen for blocks, a mid level bar and mezzanine, and then the main floor bar which has a vast amount if booze and sits slightly higher than the floor, about even w stage. Great place to catch a show.
Paying with your wristband feels like a cool idea until you realize that you can only make a purchase at the spots the terminals are at. Nothing like shoving your wrist 3 feet through the crowd to tap screen. The show I went to was so packed when I entered I feared crowd crush. The sound was great though.
Really nice venue. A good atmosphere and drinks are not too crazy overpriced.
First experience at Elsewhere is Brooklyn and what a show Devin Kennedy put on! Everything was perfect- the lighting, the sound, Devin’s energy and original music, how accommodating the venue was to musicians, the energy of the crowd and the love flowing from them to the stage and back, and the professionalism, artist appreciation attitude, kindness and efficiency of Elsewhere’s staff (particularly Sasha the amazing bodyguard/bouncer/protector/ who was there for the musicians, the crowd, the venue). And that was the warm up act!!! It was only fate that Jeff Bernat and Devin Kennedy would choose to tour together as they both wowed the crowd with beautiful, original music that had the audience dancing and singing. Both gave more than 100 percent and the evening was amazing, lit with hundreds of pinpoints of light, held by swaying arms and the harmony of an audience that knew every lyric. It simply doesn’t get better than this.
Always a great time here: rock, raves, balls, you name it. Huge venue, room after mysterious room. Just a blast. I wish I could add photos to this review.
Nice rooftop, wasn’t too crowded for our show, but sound team had major issues which delayed our show 45min then had sound issues throughout the show :/
Nice place. I unfortunately didnt get an opportunity to actually see the rooftop since it was raining pretty hard all day, but the smaller are inside was fine. They had a decent assortment of cans, which was nice since I dont really do cocktails, but they were a couple bucks more than Id pay at just a regular bar. One nice aspect about Elsewhere is that they have a nice outside area downstairs where you can go to escape the crowd, if only for a little bit.Overall, I wouldnt mind coming to see another show here. Id love to check out the rooftop and its decently close to the train station.
Absolutely incredible venue in every way -- cool spaces, cool aesthetic, incredible roof deck, great drinks and more. Elsewhere was the best venue possible for 100% Electronicon, and I (along with 1,000 others) are grateful they worked with George Clanton and 100% Electronica to make the all-day festival a reality.
Elsewhere is a beautiful venue in Brooklyn- the sound system is incredible, and Im always surprised by the unique, talented, and low-key individuals that perform there. Whether youre there for a concert, a DJ set, or just hanging out with friends, youre guaranteed to have a great time. The venue itself is spacious and well-designed, with multiple areas to explore and enjoy. The main concert hall is absolutely stunning. Elsewhere Brooklyn is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to have a great night out in Brooklyn.
Went to a show on the roof top and it was a great place to see live music. The sound was great and the area was nicely shaded enough for dancing during a hot day.Bartenders are working hard serving drinks but you wont wait any longer than a typical popular bar. Also liked the loft which is a nice air conditioned place to hang out if you start to overheat on the roof. Really limited food menu in the afternoon on a Saturday, they only had grilled cheese.
It was such a nice venue- the outside atmosphere prevented it from getting too hot. Intimate venue!
The only downside to this spot is the drinks are wildly priced. To be expected, but the degree to which it happens here has led me to have drinks elsewhere before a show. With that being said, the staff here is solid, theres a friendly vibe, the venue is pretty spacious and the bathroom space is adequate. Everything is pretty well taken care of. Recommended overall.
Awesome multi-level, multi-stage venue. Theres a rooftop stage, the intimate Zone One, and the Hall. Gets lots of more under-the-radar artists and hosts multi-room raves. Overall excellent staff, quick entry without issues. Preciously used a wristband system for debit and credit cards that now is out of service.
The owners are doing a bad job keeping it a safe place for all customers. If you are looking for a place that offers a safe environment for all participants - that is not it.
Fun, inclusive venue. The only thing theyre missing are a few more lights for a bit of a more exciting light show but thats a minor nitpick.
Got kicked out 5 minutes before the show. Security was pushing me and 2 friends to the curb. This club is know for people getting drugged upstairs. But they kicked me out. never going back
Solid venue. Sound and video equipment are top notch. Not crazy about people vaping in the audience indoors. Another dude throwing empty beer cans up and into another part of the audience. Do they even have security past the doors? Beer can dude shouted some great stuff, band loved, improved the experience so Ill give him a pass - not man bun vaper though. The sound system seemed well calibrated for the main band but the opening act was clipping the audio for both the vocals and guitar. Might be the fault of the bands crew.
It was like going to 4 or 5 different clubs, different vibes, but youre just changing floors and passing by or using gender-neutral bathrooms. Dunno if it matters by venue but the sound was great and the DJs were amazing
I came here last night to see Wavves & Beach Fossils perform. The venue is amazing. They do a wonderful job of incorporating art into the space featuring rotating installations. There are multiple stages and a new loft space that opens this weekend. The staff working the venue were friendly and the acoustics were great. I will be coming back soon for concerts and to party on the loft!
$18 drinks that didnt get me anywhere, they really made me sober as i drank them. Had a rum punch and a tequila soda, didnt do anything for me and im a super light weight which makes no sense. Music was great
The doorman didn’t accept my ID, refused to scan the photograph of another ID I have, knowing the scanner will get the barcode and I was good, we all lost the money and could not listen to the band we came to hear from New Jersey , this place also refused to give us the $$$ back for the stolen tickets 🎟️, rude , disrespectful, cocky attitude , I don’t recommend this place at all
Good venue but frustratingly and inexplicably does not post set times on the website EVEN THOUGH they have the information posted at the venue itself. I emailed and checked all socials for the info... nothing. The deliberate choice to leave patrons guessing in the hopes that they will capture people for more time to sell overpriced drinks is disgusting and antithetical to the ethos of music. FYI if the ticket says doors at 8, then the main act will be on at 10. I will never come back to this place until they change this policy which is too bad because I really liked it.
I loved the venue and space, very good vibes. My only complaint is the drinks were so expensive ($19 for a vodka rebull, $8? dollars for a canned non-alcoholic tea drink). Overall a great experience. Staff were solid
First and foremost, the atmosphere at Elsewhere is electrifying. The moment you step inside, youre enveloped by an undeniable sense of excitement and anticipation. The venue boasts a trendy, yet welcoming ambiance that instantly sets the stage for a memorable night of music. From the stylish decor to the well-designed layout, Elsewhere offers an experience that is both visually stunning and comfortable. The sound quality at Elsewhere is truly top-notch. As a dedicated fan of live performances, Ive often been disappointed by venues where the acoustics fall short. However, at Elsewhere, every note and lyric were crystal clear, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the music. The dedicated sound engineers deserve a special mention for their impeccable work, as they ensured that every artists performance was delivered with the utmost precision and clarity. One of the standout features of Elsewhere is its commitment to showcasing a diverse range of artists and genres. Whether youre a fan of indie rock, electronic music, hip-hop, or anything in between, Elsewhere has something for everyone. The venues booking team deserves commendation for consistently curating an impressive lineup of talented musicians, both established and emerging. Its evident that Elsewhere is dedicated to promoting musical exploration and nurturing a vibrant community of music lovers.
Disappointed by the crowd.. there were barely 20 people on a Friday night.. there wasnt much on the dance floor for a 35$ price tag..
The venue is great! Confusing layout but great.Bar staff is awesome and have never had issues.Door staff, such as security or anyone who checks your ID, ticket or otherwise is absolutely horrendous! We all paid our tickets and are there to see a show and have a good time and the first impression is completely negative. I heard some people who were visiting and this was there first time at Elsewhere and their first comment when entering was “man the staff is so rude here!” Is this really what the venue should be known for? TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE LESS RUDE! How can you have signs for being inclusive when your door staff are completely horrible. They just assume you know what to do without speaking. For instance, I was attempting to provide my ID and then he acted as if he wanted to see my ticket. So I took my ticket out, and he said “NO!” Without any other instructions I had to again go off assumptions and thought he actually did want to see my ID so I took that out again. He barely checked it, then barely acknowledged that he was finished so I stood there waiting for the okay. Finally he said “Go!” I was so ready to have a good time and man that really put such a damper on the beginning of the night. The security staff were worse! These negative and rude interactions are not a good look and will make me think twice on seeing a show here.
Elsewhere is always a solid venue - love that they have such a diverse array of artists they bring, especially up and coming folks, so its easy to pick and choose exactly what kinda vibe I want. DJs in the loft are always solid and staff have always been super chill. They are pretty strict about IDs, and the crowds vibe can be a hit or miss but Ive always had a good time here!:)
While the venue setup overall is pretty nice it feels like theyve not invested in some areas which could make the experience a bit better in my opinion. Overall the sound system could be a bit better and their lighting person could scale back on the strobes. In addition the crowd just seemed off for the venue.
Nice venue, and an okay sound system. I went to see Project Pat. Parking was easy and also entering the venue was easy.
Cool, very indie feeling venue that is actually two venues: one indoor and one on the rooftop. Hosts good indie music artists and also has some great DJ /rave nights. Love this place. Super LGBTQ friendly so if youre not cool with that, skip.My only complaint is the people running the line are a little too strict and come off as power-trippy. My friends and I have all seen it here, multiple times. I promise the vibe in the line isnt the vibe of the venue.
If you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for? 3 floors of music all at once at least once a month. Full calendar that’s always updating. Cash at bar and payment via wristband.Parking is always easy for me too.
Security and staff were top tier, considerate, kind, and very professional. Our friend was not feeling well and they took amazing care of us and made sure she was feeling better and turned a rocky start to a great day! Thank you so much to Madi and George you guys are beautiful souls. Great vibes, good music and great service. We will definitely be back!
Decent place. Slightly fiddly entry-wristband experience. Could be better communicated - wristbands let you buy goods throughout the venue. Bathrooms are interesting, locations of them could be better - having to shuffle through crowds for a leak. Good experience, nice people.
There process to get enter the venue is wildly ridiculous and anti immigrant. Unless you are a us citizen with an active id they won’t allow you to enter.
This is the best venue in Brooklyn / Manhattan for live music sets. The venue is absoutely massive (multiple rooms) and has incredible talent performing for all nights. The sound system is amazing and the crowd they draw is the most inclusive, diverse and accepting group of people that you will see at any night life venue. Hands down my favorite crowd / people to see a live show with. Everyone there is focused on enjoying the music and having a good time out with their friends without worrying about the superficial aspects of nightlife.I 200% recommend checking this place out! You defintley cant miss a summer rooftop set at Elsewhere as well.
A great place for cool music. The rooftop in the summer is pretty nice though.
What can I say? Always such a great time here. I’ve been able to attend numerous events/concerts here and I always have the best time. My favorite part is that they have all been very different from each other which means there’s a little bit of everything for everyone at Elsewhere. Shoutout to all the employees and bartenders that have treated me so well the different times that I’ve attended.
My faveeee venue :) to write a review on all the great things about this place, would just be repetitive of their thousands of reviews.I want to focus on their new space the chatroom which we rented for our wedding afterparty last month. Working with Lydia was such a treat! They were so friendly, accommodating, understanding, responsive, and organized in the way they help plan events. I will definitely be hosting more events there, whenever possible. Thank you Lydia + Team for helping us make our special day even better!
All open drinks pose a risk of food poisoning. Therefore, avoid consuming open cocktails or drinks at this establishment.
Awesome show venue, great staff. Bring ID for all ages
A club that is way more than just a club. The vibes, the people, the energy in this place blows so many other places out of the water. Everyone is so nice, the art inside is amazing to look at, and best of all the artists they bring in are so esoteric and popular and perfect everytime. Never have I been to a bad show here, and I will continue to go here and tell all of my friends about it. I wouldnt rather be anywhere else, except Elsewhere.
Banger venue, great sound and lights. Big vibes.
Great music venue with a chill lounge upstairs......and so to elaborate: we went to see Mass of The Fermenting Dregs on a Saturday night, coming in from Jersey, and the band and venue have to be worth cutting across Manhattan and into Brooklyn. We were worried about parking for all of five minutes; right around the corner we had an easy spot. We worried about the line; it was short and we were serenaded by a Soul Bus spinning DnB and making the time fly. It occurred to us we might be in good shape.Staff were professional, organized, and polite. They have a good system for keeping under-21s safe and easily identifiable, which means NYPD can back off already. Now, the joint is cash-ony but you can load up your wristband with money from some machines... Id stick to cash because cash is king but you do you.Coat check wasnt free but nothing good generally is in America, so we paid and on exit, had no problems. Now you enter into the main area, and theres a long bar in front and stage to the left. The floor slopes down to the stage, so even if you are in the back you have a better than even shot at seeing your band even if you are 5-5.The sound was great, all night. Putting the most excellent band aside, the sound was excellent and every level was spot-on. A-plus for the sound engineers. The upstairs has gender-neutral bathrooms (which makes all the sense in the world), thlrough which you walk to a back bar, small lounge, and presumably the dance floor. As we were there for the main stage, we didnt dance but we did lounge. Drink prices are NYC typical, but the bar was stocked intelligently and we of course had great service. After the band closed out the night, we hung out for ten minutes while the crush of people diminished, then made an easy retreat to the food trucks waiting outside. We had a great night and Elsewhere is a great place to see a show. I just wish it was on the left of Manhattan...
Came here for a concert in zone one. I like that you load your debit card onto your wristband. Makes things super easy when ordering at the bar. There was a food truck outside that sold tacos and chips and guac. Staff was helpful. Concert was great. Small and intimate.
This place is cool but over priced. Has a great view of the city and a good outside roofed but the price for drinks in Bushwich rivals Manhattan. The music was okay, good for an hour or two but with a $10 cover to get in and then very expensive drinks, this is not a place I will go to frequently. However, it is great on a summer night. The tacos are a nice touch which you can buy inside but they were not that great, definitely need some work and some more veggies.
Very enjoyable and inviting space. Nice sound and lighting in the main room. Other areas of the space were nice as well but didnt spend enough time in them to comment deeper. It feels like they are very much trying to make a safe space for all ppl and the staff and security seemed like they were living up to it. Would def go back
I always have a good time at Elsewhere, they are constantly booking music I love and the people working are nice & respectful and that helps keep the vibe positive so it’s easy to get lost in the music, lights & atmosphere. I also love they let you know set times & have mate at the bar.
Elsewhere is one of my favorite places to go out in the city! They book such a diverse range of artists from indie, to club DJs, or local musicians. I have always had such a fun time, and it is so accessible from the L train. If you are visiting New York, highly recommend checking out whats happening at Elsewhere. And if you local, you can see amazing shows easily!
Elsewhere is a cozy but spacious club located in Bushwick. Unlike the overwhelming scale of Brooklyn Mirage, it offers a cozy ambiance and boasts a significantly improved sound system. With its rooftop, interconnected rooms, and stairwells, you can navigate through the crowd and discover your ideal spot on the dance floor with ease.
Good three dance room warehouse space, expansive outdoor section for smoking even during winter. NYE was a little incoherent though. Music in main hall was fairly pop-y until midnight, but the tone of the whole place is clearly more techno/house/electronic so it was out of place. Upstairs in the loft was already hip-hop/pop/punk and more focused on alcohol. With so many parts to the space its hard to get a sense of what line they want to walk - rave space or big box club.Id go again for sure if theres an act I want to see. Also light show/visuals need some serious work for the price level of the place.
Guys this place is amazing, I cant help but share with you the feeling of the atmosphere in this hall. Wonderful acoustics, it gives you goosebumps, me and my friend from work were delighted, we were screaming until we lost our voices and still couldnt hear each other because of the incredible surround sound.
Elsewhere is like a breathe of fresh air! Every time I’ve been, I’ve had a 10/10 experience, which is rare, because most clubs or event spaces are not as consistent with their events. The atmosphere, the music, the vibes, everything is always amazing. I went last weekend with a few of my friends to the “Every-day Ppl” event and we had a blast!!!
I saw los campesinos here in November 2018. I arrived to the venue early and it was pretty confusing. There arent any clear labels or directions posted anywhere. A lot of people (including myself) were waiting in the wrong area for the show and nobody told us until they were already letting people in. It was strange but once inside, it was an amazing time. Nice bar and big stage.
Elsewhere is like no other place in NYC. The trade off of living in the city is not having sprawling places to dance like you have in so many other cities that have the square footage. But elsewhere is it’s own deity. The action packed full venue nights have multiple dance floors, multiple DJs, and they even sell food. The people are an eclectic mix that represents NY well. The only downside is that the drinks are pricey for the relative area, so I’d pregame and buy drinks to maintain a solid level.
Went to my first show here through Dice and their wristband system felt like a lot when going in but once in there it was super convenient and made sense. Awesome intimate venue.
WHO TF PUTS A HANDICAP RAMP ON A DANCEFLOOR??? BRB GONNA BREAK MY ANKLES IN THE CLUBAside from that it’s a nice venue, smoking area, drinking fountains, overpriced drinks (its a club), yeah
Good venue for live music. You dont get service in most spots so keep that in mind if you like to post on social media while youre at an event. There are a lot of rooms and an outdoor space so your cash wonder a bit and have a good time. Theyre open late also so its a good spot for later events.
Rooftop is spacious and has a great view of the city. Pretty easy to get a drink but they have a set menu so not the place if you’re looking for a variety of drinks. Great quality and great vibes.
Its a cool venue and staff is friendly but they always overcrowd it for bigger shows. Wish bigger artists didnt perform here as much cause its great for smaller acts but doesnt hold larger capacity shows too well. Also the ticket prices online are very high now.
Great venue and a good space. Bar is quick and restrooms are spacious, clean and gender neutral. No lines. No boundaries. The above was my review 4 years ago.Since then, some fundamental things have changed, and that is the space and comfort. They have gotten greedy and they are “overselling” the venue. Which makes it extremely tight and uncomfortable to enjoy. The last 4 times I went, I regretted it. They are following the “Brooklyn Mirage” way. And for that, I change my 5 stars to 1. These are the fundamental values of a venue. Take it away and its trash. Good luck.
The venue is fine. Bring cash with you if you plan to buy booze. Itll be cheaper than with the bracelets that youll spend a minute to link to your card. Beer is ok, mixed drinks - meh.
Elsewhere is one of those places where, if you’re even vaguely interested in seeing someone, you need to go. It’s the perfect space to see your fave or discover the next household name! The layout offers plenty of spaces to dance to your favorite artists and chill out with your friends. The programming team is top notch and the onsite staff is kind and always there if you need anything!
I saw Phantogram play here in the rain on the rooftop, and instead of showing him up by performing anything, it was three hours of her emotionally supporting his weeknight laptop-dj set with increasingly constant punctuations of “OhHHhh, Siiiiiiiiickk.” The bar has a spicy mango drink with the same virgin-like novelty of a Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
I went last summer (July 31st) with my nephew. It was out first time. The vibe was great until I found the bartender was double charging for our drinks. I waited till the 3rd drink to tell the bartender. He gave us the next couple drinks on the house and saying it was a mistake but clearly wasnt. Wont be coming here ever again!
Poor management decisions throughout. An unpleasant space with unfriendly bouncers and a confusing layout; we were told we couldnt access certain areas but simply arrived at them by walking through the open spaces (only to find those spaces locked later on). The doors were at 8pm but there was no explanation anywhere in emails/tickets/website that the DJ would play before the band going on at 10pm. Given that there is no reentry (why the hand stamp then?) this traps you there until the set begins. There is a dishonest and likely illegal policy of upcharging to use a credit card associated with your wristband. You are NOT notified of this upcharge at the time of purchasing drinks; there is a disingenuous sign by the bar checkout about a 6% cash discount. I would direct the management to a dictionary so they can learn the difference between a discount and a surcharge. The show itself was very good but I wont be back.
What a vibe, I cant wait to go back. They are open late so be ready for a night full of dancing!
Elsewhere... had some great parties in there. Had a stretch of some House legends last summer, one of the best bookings. But theres plenty to choose with all the rooms they have. Def a great spot to catch a Dance party if youre in BK!
Great venue for underground local artists or lesser mainstream artists. There are so many rooms that have different styles of music. Crowd is more friendly than the typical club crowd and more respectful. Come here to impress your friends that could be visiting from out of town. Imo , this place is one of the best places for good vibes and listen to great house music acts.
Drinks are $15 a piece minimum. Cash might not be accepted - where you’ll be encouraged to use a wristband as your credit card. Insanely expensive, there are far better experiences in Brooklyn alone for WAY less money.
Love this place. Great sound, multiple rooms, great energy. EXCEPT when they use the main room for dj sets- the lighting guy strobes the lights nonstop and it’s literally painful. Have some nuance dude
Loooove. We live in a time where there’s so many up and coming venues to choose to from. Elsewhere continues to make my top. I love how much the venue is changing (seemingly becoming a household name lol) and how diverse it is, in terms of DJ sets and live performances. Not always the biggest names in music which is great to see. The three dance floors also seems to be what puts elsewhere ahead of others in the area. There’s always something there for everyone and the crowd is us usually nothing but welcoming. Can be a bit packed sometimes, but staff does a good job at make sure everyone is safe
I had a distraught experience with whoever was the individual checking in tickets for people tonight 10/21/23. I am a trans girl from Queens NYC who was out to celebrate my friends birthday. There is a group of us together, but we were all separated because we traveled differently. I went up first and alone to this person with the GREEN NEON BEANIE explicitly asking how much for one ticket because I was paying for myself as we were all coming from another club. This person decided to take it upon themselves to ask if I was with a group and I said yes, and that we were a group of 6 at the moment, but again I wanted to pay my own cover fee as I know my other friends are capable of paying for themselves and there was no agreement amongst ourselves to have a single person pay for everyone. This person was adamant in trying to get everyone in our group together. They ended up not listening to me and only speaking to my friends despite me being up first. Mind you this is my first time going out to a big club like this. I just wanted to dress cute and have a great night dancing. This person kept calling me shady and mean, repeatedly, which I thought was a joke at first but they kept singling me out and calling me that. None of my friends thought the same way. I kept my composure especially once it came to paying for everyones entry, in which I appreciated the fact that the person allowed all 6 of us entry for the cost of 2 tickets. However, the real cost was my own dignity and respect as a trans girl. I felt so humiliated in front of my own friends because I felt obligated to pay for everyone. This person was not listening to me, and made me feel horrible to the point where I immediately started crying once we entered fully. We were in no way trying to kiki with each other despite me thinking so at first. They were being malicious, spiteful, and singling me out and I still have no idea why. As a trans girl this is the one free night I have that I decided to spend on celebrating my friends birthday, and it ended up with some random stranger calling me negative names when they have 0 knowledge of who I am as a person. None of my friends thought I did anything wrong, but they too were confused about this persons behavior. Once we tried confronting them right after with management, they tried gaslighting me, saying that we were just kikiing when we werent, that they complimented my outfit when they didnt, and even tried to subdue us with complimentary drink tickets and refunds when that is not what I cared about at all. I emphasized that this is not how you talk to anyone, especially strangers that you dont even know, and I did not deserve to be spoken nasty too as if I was a known patron of this club, when it was my first time. This person is spiteful and nasty, and tried gaslighting me because I also said I was tipsy, although I am still very conscious about my actions and what I say to people, and in that moment, I was completely disrespected and harrassed by the person in the green neon beanie. I did not accept any complimentary drink tickets or refunds. I went back inside expecting to try and enjoy the rest of the night for my friends bday, although my mind could not focus on anything else and I just had to leave the venue immediately. Please train this person to be kinder, and not unnecessarily rude to people they do not even know and did not even do anything to warrant that type of behavior. Thank you
Ive had the incredible privilege of being an Ambassador for Elsewhere, and I can confidently say that this venue is an absolute gem in the heart of Brooklyn.Elsewhere has become my musical home away from home, and Ive had the pleasure of witnessing countless unforgettable shows here. From the mind-blowing rooftop performances by ZOPA and Wheatus to the enchanting sets by INJI, Cafune, and Eyedress, Elsewhere consistently delivers exceptional music experiences. The atmosphere at Elsewhere is unlike any other. Its a haven for music lovers, art enthusiasts, and creative souls. The design and layout of the venue are simply brilliant, with multiple stages and unique spaces that cater to various music genres and events. As an Ambassador for Elsewhere, Ive had the opportunity to connect with a vibrant community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for music and culture. The staff is not only professional but also genuinely friendly, making every visit a delightful one.Whether youre a seasoned music enthusiast or just looking for a fantastic night out in Brooklyn, Elsewhere should be at the top of your list. Its a place where unforgettable memories are made, and I cant recommend it enough.Thank you, Elsewhere, for consistently bringing top-notch talent to the stage and creating a space that fosters creativity and connection. I cant wait to see what amazing experiences the future holds at this incredible venue! 🎶🎉
It was supposed to be a great experience, since I was planning this trip for a while. However, my daughter got Elsewhere’s membership ( $10 a month) however since they ask them to get a least 3month she did; that was a huge mistake, when she realized it was the wrong one, I ask them to cancel my order, they cancel the membership, they didn’t refund the money back “ bc it is a sale membership “ fine, however, she wasn’t ever able to use the membership for the time left ( the days left of the 3month).Same on this places. One experience to never again. I will for sure take further action. Please, review your policy before want people buy/have business with you.
Have been going to Elsewhere for years and its always a good vibe! They have an amazing array of shows (live or dj, club style nights or concerts, pretty much every genre), its pretty much guaranteed youll find something to love about the space!
It was my first time going for Papi Juice and I really liked it there. It gets a little crowded for sure though. But the music was great, I love their rfid bracelet system for quick payments for drinks.Bathrooms was relatively clean for such a populated club. Coat check was also smooth, only thing is, toward the end of the night there was a line for coat check to leave. Took at least 10-15 minutes.Another thing I liked was that there was this one security guard across from the inside side of the coat check, by the door to the courtyard, and they were always checking on people if they were okay. They even gave my friend a water bottle. I really like places that actually look out for the people there. It’s very important for peoples safety. Also nice, dark/dim lighting. Just with any place like this have your ear protection & sunglasses for if you feel overwhelmed by strobe lighting.
Bushwick has a ton of night club and event spaces to pick from but none create as consistently a fun and safe space as elsewhere. They work hard to book great acts and keep the community safe and full of love. Come any time, it’s always worth it. Rooftop is great too.
This has to be one of my new favorite venues. The entire staff including security were super chill. Awesome environment & sound system. The drinks are a bit pricey.
Elsewhere is such an amazing place to meet new people that have a passion for music. The variety of artists and spaces to dance make every experience a new one. Would totally recommend 100%!
Venue is fine. Spacious and clean, but whats up with the curfew? Does the artist always only get strictly 1 hour to perform?? During the 2 hour wait for our performer to take the stage, someone near me passed out. The staff handled that really well.
Love this place for dancing, especially in the summer on the roof. HOWEVER they claim to be an all inclusive venue and then charge $18 for a single beer…….Definitely the most expensive bar/venue in bushwick which is a shame ;,(
Excellent venue! They have 2 halls and a rooftop available for concerts and performances. I saw Destruction and Nervosa in the smaller hall and had a blast! An intimate space with great sound and their wristband set up to order and pay for drinks at the bar is a very smooth process. All in all an enjoyable experience.
Watch out Output, we have a new Brooklyn nightclub contender with less pretension and an equally good sound/lighting system situated in the heart of Bushwick. And they don’t care if you take photos! Did I mention they also have an amazing rooftop? Elsewhere is making waves in the music scene, if you haven’t been here yet you probably should. Also, a Walker&Royce residency? I think I’ve said enough.
Great venue and friendly staff. Pricey drinks however....
Definitely had a fun night; some considerations: I paid $10 for a water bottle. Drinks were watered down and expensive. Bathrooms were abysmal. Only the rooftop was open for Hamdi’s July 4th rooftop set and I mentioned this only bc I was sad to not be able to explore the other parts of the venue, which I have heard such good things about! The set ended exactly when they said it would (10pm but feel that this was bc it was a Tuesday). The rooftop was cool and I enjoyed the lighting! The staff are chill.
Great sound system and light show. Would return for sure!
Ive been coming to Elsewhere since it opened about 6 years ago! Its still one of my favorite venues in NYC. Its on the smaller side in terms of concert venues in the city which means concerts here are intimate :) Ive even seen SG Lewis, Sean Paul, and Chvrches up close, and so many up and coming artists and djs too. Elsewhere knows how to curate a lineup so even if I havent heard of the artist before, I know itll be a fun time.I also love the people who come here -- people are generally respectful and friendly and come here for the music! Always a good vibe, always new friends to be made :)and p.s. definitely check out the whole venue: rooftop, main hall, zone one, and the loft! such a cool space.
The venue was amazing. Proformance, sound and lightning all great. Atmosphere really chill. I will definitely be back for another concert.
This place has so many different event spaces in it and amazing things going on.
One of my favorite venues in NY by far. better than any clubs in Manhattan. have had so many fun nights here and plan on having many more. love Elsewhere!
Came all the way from the UK to see one of my favourite bands only to be denied entry because my drivers license was European and according to security “not valid”. All it said on the sign was you need a valid form of ID like a drivers license but did not specify that meant US only. Dozens of very unhappy non Americans getting thrown out of the line. When returning with my passport (which I wasn’t comfortable taking out at a packed venue with a return flight soon) the line was long and slow with my partner joking (but also true) that it’s easier to get into America than this venue.
Its a good time, everytimedrinks are a bit overpriced, but thats just the area
Just want to write a review expressing my sadness about the turn away for expired ids. Was really looking forward to this eartheater show after my finals week and was told to leave :( fyi TSA accepted expired ids for a year after expiration date. Really dumb rule elsewhere and a waste of $45 👎
Super cool venue I went to see janine here in concert, the bartender was so nice and the energy was perfection from the lighting to the easy coat check everything was cool, my only suggestion is maybe serving food somehow because literally you will starve if you haven’t eaten or if the local food truck closes
By far one of the best venues in NYC! Dope bookings, well thought out space (exploring the different rooms is the most fun), great staff. The sound in Zone One is next level, tuned perfectly to the room. 🪩✨It makes the vibe truly special.
Warning to foreigners - Elsewhere will not let you in unless you carry a passport. We, and over a dozen other non Americans, were not allowed in. We all had valid drivers licences (the only request in writing on the door at the time) and tickets (!) and weve used our UK licence to drive and drink (not at the same time) all over the US! When we pointed out the fact that we met the venues requirement the head of security then pivoted to a new excuse orders from above. We were lucky we stayed nearby and could fetch our passports. Others werent so lucky and were still pleading their case outside the venue after we spent an hour and $11 to get our passports.
The music, sound system and visuals were great. But the drink prices are way too high. Spirits (not even a full cup) were $20 with tax and tips. A can beer was $15. Coat check was $4 per item. Just beware of those prices. The upstairs room was so packed, people were vaping and it was hard to breathe at times. The restroom in the upper floor had no door, people were dancing while someone 6 feet away mightve been taking a dump inside one of those stalls. Anyway, it wasnt all too bad. Overall had a great time, would recommend to my friends.
Always amazing vibes and great venue😎
This is the worst venue I’ve ever been to in my life. It was 40 degrees outside but at least 85 degrees inside. And so overcrowded; I’d estimate that they were easily 30% above capacity. Either they’re overselling tickets or letting all their friends in on the guest list. I walked out during the set of one of my favorite bands because it was so uncomfortable. And if there were a fire on a night like tonight I’m pretty sure everyone would be dead.
Music was pretty loud, louder than other Venus. The stage was nice and wide and made for a good show but there is a mini fence so it is a little difficult to get a good view. I was there for the ecco2k show and the line to get inside was manageable. They also have water coolers with cups inside. Overall a good experience
