Awesome food selection (buffet) damn great coffee.Fathers day spread was.really good this year.

Im sorry, I hate to be negative, but... This just sucked. My food TASTED great, but for a $15 wrap, damn was it puny (see photo). No joke, I had it finished in about six bites.My wifes buffalo chicken wrap was no bigger, but at least mine TASTED good... Hers was COLD. And I dont just mean it wasnt very warm... I mean it was ice-cold cooked chicken breast that had been served directly from the refrigerator with cold buffalo sauce. Like it was actually served ice cold. Ive never heard of a buffalo chicken wrap that wasnt served hot.My wife says shes had the buffalo chicken wrap here at Chrome Horse before, and it was breaded, fried, and served hot. Whoever decided to change it to a grilled, ice-cold presentation needs to go, because this does not work.The atmosphere outside was wonderful. Our server was very pleasant and courteous, but... was nowhere to be seen for a good ten or fifteen minutes while we went thirsty with empty glasses.Anyway, this was a waste of forty bucks. But at least the tiny portions left us with plenty of room to go get some ice cream afterward.

Nice waitstaff. Helpful and very knowledgeable about menu. Outside tables spaced out. Band was very good and customers seemed to love their music. Chicken wings and pizza were good. Maybe cook the pizza a bit longer. It wasn’t very hot and the cheese wasn’t quite melted.

I want to give a shout out the bar and wait staff! We were there for Name That Tune on 6/20 and the place was absolutely packed…and severely understaffed. Those who were working were doing their best to keep things moving. Staffing shortages are no joke, so please be patient in those situations.

A local restaurant/bar. A great place to have a party as they have 3 different party areas as well.as the main dining room. On most Friday nights they have entertainment as a local band playing so it can be kind of loud especially in the main dining area. The food is mainly various burger or wings along with appetizers of nachos. They also have a wide variety of beers and of course spirts.

My husband and I came in for dinner and music bingo. I ordered a southwestern quesadilla and he ordered the meatloaf sandwich meal. He got most of it down before he started sweating and feeling nauseous. He threw the food up in your parking lot and is still throwing up here at home. I tried to call several times to discuss the food poisoning he has and nobody ever answered the phone! Throw that expired meat loaf in the trash before you kill someone! I gave one star for music bingo, it was fun but sadly due to dangerous food being served, we wont be back.

Food was horrible. Steak was cooked right, my mixed veggies was cold out of fridge they forgot to microwave. Wife ordered chicken salad it had no chicken on it. One of the others in our group had a sandwich that was under cooked it go taken off their bill but then it was added to our bill. Overall horrible experience will never come back

I have been coming to Chrome Horse for years with my children, friends and family and have never had an issue until today, 4/10/24. It took 10 minutes to get a beer and a soda for my daughter. Our food wasnt cooked well. Our waitress passed our table several times and never asked if we needed anything after our food arrived. I went up to the bar and asked for another pint of beer. The blonde gal behind the bar was extremely rude. I said I havent seen our waitress in over 30 minutes and to please add it to my tab and I pointed to my table. She refused to take 2 minutes away from what she was doing and said I dont have time. My question is why have 2 staff members on trivia night when they know it will be busy let alone 2 girls that have no clue what they are doing. The rude blonde waitress said do you not see that it is just her and I and well get to you whatever we can. All I can say is I wasnt the only customer that was looking for our waitress. After this experience we wont come back.

Really good meat lovers pizza. Service was excellent at a fair price. Loved the musical entertainment. Danger Zone rocked

Good food and friendly service. Love how the space is so open for a bar was really surprised by this. If your looking for a good Sunday Brunch this should be your first stop. Dont forget the bloody Mary bar as well.

Love going there to see live bands!

The band Well Lit was excellent. We had awesome service and the food was good. Prices are fairly average. They did pretty good mostly with the social distancing but hard to maintain in a bar after awhile.

We had a great time! It was packed after the St. Patricks Day parade, so tableside service was harder to come by. However, by walking up to the bar, we were able to get what we needed right away. Vicebox was a great band, and we hope to see them there again soon!

Called a couple times after tripping on cement parking blocks by outside patio last fall. I had 2 drinks. It was reported to the manager who asked for our information and said don’t worry, we will be in touch. I was in a lot of pain!! After that my husband drove me to ER. No one from the bar helped, it was my husband and strangers who came to my rescue and made sure Chrome Horse knew about the incident. Used to hang here a lot but no more!! Called Derrick and he never called back. Broke arm, had surgery and off work for 2 months. Radial head replacement and plate in my forearm and 3 months of PT. The parking blocks swivel and should not spin in the walking path and the lighting out there is terrible! Spent a lot of money there seeing bands during the summer. My husband, family, friends, and I are really disappointed in their character. I post this in hopes it doesn’t happen to someone else!

5 stars says it all. There was 30+ people in our group and wow what great food and service!

Four of us popped in for a quick dinner and a few good beers. Ive never had a bad meal here and the pizzas are delicious. Their menu seems endless...something for everyone. They also had a decent classic rock playing with no cover charge. Pleasant surprise!

Great motorcycle bar,especially since they have separate motorcycle parking. Food is good and the atmosphere is great.

So very unhappy with the service. We must have sat there for 45 minutes after our order had been taken. I see someone coming from the kitchen with what looked like our lunch. But they walked right past us and served a table that had came in after us.Its going to be a long time before Ill ever go back!!

Went here for the first time ever. I really like the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant. Food was delicious (the Triple X burger is HOT, so good). The service couldnt be better, fast and friendly. Try it, I think youll like it.

This place is a lot of fun. They have a lot going on in the summer with live music and what not. They have got plenty of room for large groups and they have lot of really cool things sitting and hanging around like motorcycles and fun stuff like that. Their food is excellent and not overpriced. The beer is ice cold and their mixed drinks are just like I like them.

Went for the Sunday breakfast buffet, food was fresh and tasty. Service was poor, not that busy and seemed in a rush to get me to leave, cleared my table entirely after I left for 5 mins for the bathroom. Bill included added surcharges for a non-alcoholic drink and food. Why are you going to offer non-alcoholic drinks and a buffet but charge extra and not inform ahead of time? I can just go someplace like Scotts and not deal with that

Awesome service and the food was delicious! Our wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The appetizers were amazing! We met our Iowa cousins there as they recommended Chrome Horse Saloon. We are from Arkansas and appreciate such a great time!

Food was good, waitress was welcoming and attending. Got our bill and it already had gratuity on it which is not the end of the world but just unexpected. Got our check, and it was a different price from when they brought it to us to sign. Went up 3 dollars. Then we thought that $75 for 3 people and what we ordered was a little high so we looked at the prices of what we ordered and everything we had were about 4 dollars more then the listed prices. Overall it seemed like a pretty cool place but just a few certain things that made it seem odd.

My star would be negative it there was an option. Very disappointed in this buffet. Cold inside the building. The food was NOT what I would call edible. My French toast was colder than the strawberries I put on it. My eggs were cold and dry. Sausage links were cold. Cranberry juice extremely watered down, coffee nasty tasting ( I put 3 Vanilla creamers in and could not drink it. I think we spent more time waiting to be seated than we did at the table. I wishbI had no sense of taste now. Never again

If you want some bomb food with a really cool and friendly atmosphere. This is the place for you. Awesome food, way friendly staff and some really cool people. Also they host some killer bands. Outdoor shows are something you have to see for yourself. Trust me you will love it. Check it out you wont be disappointed.

Cedar Rapids— great food, great atmosphere, great service, damn good Bloody Mary no frills just good. Hard to beat the price point! Wish we could have stayed for the band. Lots of gluten free options too. Can’t wait to try the Sunday Brunch….went back for the buffet, give the buffet a stand alone 5-stars. Been there several times now, each time a different server - each server 10 stars!

The burger was great, best tasty and had a nice grilled flavor.

Came out to see lonesome road band. Had a great stage setup. Sat at the bar and had an amazing bartender. Food was OK normal bar food.

I went for the Wayland Show and it was great. Atmosphere and people. I didnt eat there this time, but they did have a variety of drinks that kept us refreshed during the concert. It was indoors because of the storm. Not to crowded and the tickets were inexpensive.

I was trying to attend a trivia night last night for Christmas Vacation. The Facebook event said first come, first serve. Arriving 1hr 30 minutes early, we were met with numerous Reserved tables. It made no sense...Very disappointed.

Best wings in Cedar Rapids. Large, crispy, plenty of sauce, Buffalo flavor spot on, and the blue cheese is homemade. Not sure what else you would want. . .

Food was ok but it was cold in there. Okay heres your three stars. But My husband didnt like hamburger, although mine was good , but needed to eat our food quickly so it wouldnt get cold. I and other customers were putting on sweatshirts and complaining that it was cold that day. We were there during the week at noon so there was no band playing at that time. If you dont want to hear my review then dont make it possible for me to respond to the notification I received.

We hosted my son and daughter in laws wedding rehearsal dinner here. From the very beginning Allie was extremely helpful to me as everything up until the day was done via telephone conversations as I do not live in Cedar Rapids. She communicated clearly and I appreciated all her advice along the way.The day of went perfectly, although the place was packed we had our own private room and the prime rib buffet was delicious.Derek did an amazing job organizing the food station. Our servers that night went above and beyond. Everyone was so impressed by their level of service, not to mention how personable both ladies were. I believe their names were Sarah and LisaAnyway, it was an awesome evening! The day after the wedding my son in law wanted to go back , he was curious about the menu and lots to try, so we stopped in and Derek recognized us and treated us to a lunch. Such nice people!!!! Good service nice big place plenty of room. I feel like the burger meat has changed. Last one I had had way too much garlic and onion powder in the meat. Almost meatloaf like. Probably will eat something different next time wasnt a fan of that flavor.

Solid good and the beer was frosty and ice cold. Look forward to going again

They do a great job of bringing in fun entertainment, the costume contest at Halloween is very fun, staff is attentive and friendly.

Food was great but service was slightly lacking. Long wait times for drink and our appetizers came out with our main course and it was luke warm like it had been sitting for awhile. Server most likely had too many tables to herself. Given the current workforce struggles we understand. Regardless we had a great time.

My wife and I came here for an anniversary dinner. We instantly loved the decor here how big the dinning area is and how attentive Dana was. Whomever the cook was at 540 pm on 5/22 made the best bacon cheese burger Ive had, and a wonderful grilled cheese brisket sandwhich. My wife ordered the chrome berry lemonade and it was delicious!

This is a review Im editing from five stars 2 years ago.This use to be a decent place but they have jacked the drink prices through the roof and youre lucky if you get your other money back when you pay outside.Their food has gotten smaller and quality is way down, they dont know how to make a drink (they screwed up captain and coke?) and if you find a drink you like they youre basically going to pay $8 for the drink a dollar for the tip and then youre lucky if you see the other dollar so $9 to 10 a drink is what I was paying for tequila.Its not just shots marked way up either, my friends who drink beer were also paying almost half again as much as anywhere else.They have some great bands and its a great venue but they really cant keep staff for a reason and their prices are out of control along with their quality.I hope they get things under control again because this was a fun place, besides parking sometimes being hell.

It seems like today good service is hard to find. Great service doesnt exist anymore. Friday I went with friends to watch a great band. The Chrome Horse was packed. Every table full and dance floor was also bar etc. Angie was our server and the girl was above and beyond. She made our experience incredible. As a society we always speak on the bad, and rarely report on the good. Angie Smith is fantastic! And the chrome horse is my fav. Chill spot! Great job and thank you for a fantastic Friday. The band that was there is called Well Lit if you get a chance to watch them do it. I promise you wont be disappointed!

It was Mothers day and we didnt have a reservation. So, they put us in very tall chairs, which I didnt feel safe in, as Im 5 feet 0. So, I got up to look for another area. A waitress did find a suitable place, at a booth, that was closer to the food.I wish I could have afforded a tip, for dealing with someone like me, who was just uncomfortable and unwilling to shut up and just sit, like my husband wanted me to.A very excellent spread of food. I hope they have buffets every weekend, just not needing reservations!

Wouldnt be able to weigh in on the service or food, but tried to attend an event there and it was mostly reserved tables for a first come, first served event. Posted a question about it on FB and they deleted it. Could have been an off night, but with other options in the area, Ill be skipping anything they plan in the future.

Not bad, they do need to serve Angus beef however. My steak was grilled to order, but had a very dry taste, not juicy at all.

Been going downhill for a while. Will never eat here again.

Fathers day brunch in a busy place. They had many things to choose from. Very pleasant staff, clean bathroom. My favorite was the corned beef hash and the cinnamon rolls. The coffee was not my favorite, so they took it off the bill. The food was okay to good. In my opinion, nothing made it stand out from other brunch places.

Cool layout. I came here with my daughters for a COE college tour. The Davidson dip is awesome!! I ordered a Cobb salad, the chicken was dry and blackened. I mistook the for croutons at first . My wife had the sweet potato fries, they were cold and soggy.The only reason we stopped here was every other place we went to was packed

Good place to go for great food and drinks. Nice selection of burgers with all the fixins, pizzas with a different than most offering of topping combinations and lots of appetizers and snacks to enjoy, I love the hawg wings. It is a great party venue that often features live music. Plenty of beers to choose from and an excellent staff make this place truly stand out from the rest. Update: Unfortunately, the hawg wings are a thing of the past. Other than that, the place still rocks! Great live music venue!

This place was great. The waitress was quick friendly and made sure to ask questions to clarify our order. She was quick to take our drink and food order. The food was fast and tasted great. Would love to go back to try their different options. It was clean and worth a look.

No matter what the name, since it was Dillons? in the early 80s, this place is always a winner. The history, like many Cedar Rapids renovated buildings, offers a great dining...and drinking experience. Menu was well put together, offered many choices...service was AWESOME 😎. Great place to hang out, watch a game..have an adult beverage...lol..or kiddie cocktail 🍹...we didnt stay for the band...left full, and happy!Thanks for the perfect Saturday afternoon!

This is a great place to go, to perform at, and the Thanksgiving buffet they put out is just fabulous, and it has everything you could possibly ever want for the holiday feast. Being a local musician that plays 6 instruments in multiple styles, I know many bands and musicians that repeatedly perform there.. I like going back to this place, and the food and drinks they serve are very good, as well!

Really a great place. Food is phenomenal, server everytime I go is the same gal, and she is always on top of her stuff. Wish they had more room because it is quite fun to watch the bands.

The bathroom straight smells like pee on every surface. The floors are sticky. Consider pulling those gross pee soaking tiles out and redoing it.The menu kind of sucked because they want to name meals but not with actual descriptive words of what is in it. Took me 10 minutes to find chicken tenders under the name hot leather something or another.Otherwise not bad food or decor.

Had a wonderful time for my birthday. Our bartender was great, the food was wonderful. We will be back.

Too many people in the bar. Difficult to find a seat. Had a great band there, but was too loud. Cant even hear the person next to you. Service was good, once you tipped them also.

Always stellar service, cool events, a great outdoor stage. Great food.. $6.50 for an angry orchard draft is a bit steep for iowa.UPDATE - went for Sunday brunch and had the worst service. Never a refill on coffee or water even offered. Couldnt flag down wait staff at all. After 5 min waiting for the check (I just wanted a second cup of coffee from somewhere), I started a timer. I got the check after 8 more minutes, for a total of 13 straight min of staring at an empty coffee and water and empty plate.

Food was good. Service was excellent. Went in around lunch time with my 4 year old son. Both of us had a burger.

Unbelievable. Seriously, I wouldnt even believe this story if you told it to me. Ive been to this restaurant three times. Once was fine, the second was good. Last night was the MOST TERRIBLE service I have ever seen anywhere in my fifty-six years on Earth. My group was watching the time, as one had to be home by seven. The waitress brought our water, then ignored us for over twenty minutes until I stood up and waved both hands so she would take our order. Forty minutes later, I stood up and waved again and asked her to check on our food as we had been there for an hour. She told us we had been there for fifteen minutes, left and immediately returned with our food. It was cold and hard, obviously having sat around for a very long time. She told us we had been in the restaurant for exactly 34 minutes (huh?), and there was no manager on duty for us to speak with. I said I wouldnt pay for some of it that sat too long to be edible, She took all our food off the table and left. Seriously. Not, Oh, can I warm something up? or Ill rush a new order. SHE GRABBED OUR FOOD away and we left.

Excellent service and tasty food with adequate portions. We had starters only, mixed plate and nachos, but they were great. Also, a loc brewed blonde beer that was e excellent along with a fabulous strawberry flavor margarita.

They have some really great events that help make this a really nice place to go to! Their bartenders are super friendly and attentive! Food and waiters are ok. I think I made the mistake of not getting their pizza because it looked and smelled delicious!

Isle of Iowa PHC meets here monthly; CHS can accommodate a large group with many different requests and needs. The menu can accommodate all tastes and the service is second to none.

About 14 beers on tap with about half of those from Iowa. It was priced okay. We sat on the patio which was pretty much abandoned. After our second round, the bartender came out to tell us he was closing early. I guess everyone cleared out after trivia. I liked the biking memorabilia, but I got the feeling that the bartender didnt like us. There are plenty of other bars not closing an hour and a half early.

Great place to catch live music... Band was fantastic, and would recommend! Skin Kandy was the band that played... Classic Hard Rock from the 70s and 80s.

Most of us had the breakfast buffet. They had a decent variety and food was okay to good but it wasnt anything extraordinary. Wait staff was friendly and sufficiently attentive. The burger and fries were good as well.

We had a birthday party in their party room and it was awesome, food was spectacular the smoked chicken was wonderful. Service was also top notch. We will be going back there.

Great place for live music and fun

Okay place for coming to listen to music. Staff could be a little friendlier. Waitress was borderline rude on a busy Friday night. Staff member tried to ID my 21 year old daughter twice even though she was leaving the building and had not been drinking.

Cool decor, really good breakfast buffet, looked like they had an awesome Bloody Mary bar, but I didnt partake this time, the waitress was very nice and did a great job. They had huge screens for the games, and a enormous patio. I would definitely go back.

They hosted my retirement party. Took care of more than 300 people. Good food, outstanding service and attention to detail. Highly recommend this venue for your big event.

Saturday afternoon, took quite a while for our order. The brisket I order wasnt good. 3 strips on top of 2 slices toast with a cup of bbq dumped on it. Waitress never refilled water. Cold draft every time door opened. Felt cold the whole time I was there. Tater tots were good, but its hard to screw those up. Everyone elses food looked good...

Food was good waitress was horrible. Pretty much ignored us most of the time . We had to change tables to get waited on. Had to ask for a bill after we sat almost 15 after we were done eating!! Everyone else seemed to get waited on but we couldnt get attention for nothing.

Chrome horse had the best pulled pork sandwiched Ive had in years cuddos to these two gentlemen amazing cooks and peopl.. They were mobile working McGrath bike night event. Thank you guys hope to see ya again soon :)

Their food is always great and 5heir serv8ce rocks. Plus a large menu to find what your tastebuds are after. Their patio is huge and they always have a good selection of music events.

Went in to order a couple of brews for the boys, unfortunately I had a extremely unpleasant experience. The female bartender who looked much younger than me, questioned the authenticity of my ID (Bare in mind Im 39 years old, lol.) I understand they have a job to do and are cautious, but the rookie employee did not even furnish a second opinion or retrieve her manager when requested. She actually didnt even have the bravado to inform me of her finding, she had her co-worker dubiously inform me of her judgement. Real class act supporters of veterans, shameful. Would give a 0 if I could.

Nothing special, but food was fine. I got the pulled pork wrap. It needed more bbq sauce. What won me over was the patio. So nice out there and it just made for a great night in the breeze.

Went here for a going away get together. When I ordered my drink the waitress gave me a digusted look(it was a Corona). She came back and tried to give us someone elses drink and insisted we take it. When we were doing pictures and saying good bye to friends she kept hitting me with my receipt. Funny part is that she charged all of my purchases to my friends card. Pretty sure she angrily photo bombed few of our photos. Maybe she was having a tough night and wanted to share. Food was just ok. Band was ok but way way too loud.I have had better times here but not many.

Great bands there! And its a large area! Drinks dont take forever even if its packed!! And parking isnt terrible either...which i half expected but was happily surprised!!

The food was ok. They were out of alot of things. Ordered a pizza and it was supposed to have bacon on it. They didnt say anything and made it without bacon so it was not like what I ordered, or expecting. Also was unaware of the tax put on drinks.

Loved this place,! Only complaint is that they could use more wait staff in order to be more attentive to customers, but the ones who did serve if were friendly. Good food and drink.

The food was really great! And the atmosphere was relaxed and quite nice for a lunch date. At night, the live music can make for a very lively and fun environment!

A group of us stopped by for breakfast. One of my friends was complaining Her food was cold. I told Her To tell thé waitress which through my encouragement she did. Discovered that thé burners were not on where thé buffet was. My breakfast was fine as I ordered off thé menu.

Pretty typical barfare for food and really no vegetarian options. Decent selection and solid drink menu. The venue is large and has a very solid outdoor space.

Server and cook did not have mask on , bacon was dry , cinnamon rolls were dry . The buffet food was not worth the money . Manager was rude and started yelling and freaking out on us when we tried to explain to him the situation . He told us to leave and that everyone makes - big deal out of covid and mask . This is the worst food and customer service we have ever experienced in our entire life.

I liked the place they had out in N.E. Cedar Rapids!; Closed now. It seems to be a hot place to stop for students in down town, next to Newbo Mkt. Easy in & out. Good food. The ambiance not the same as other restaurant.Dissappointed for older patrons !

Enjoyed my meal during non-peak hours, a great place to get a bite to eat! YUUUUGE servings of meatloaf in the dinner too, and tasted delicious! Gotta get back there for more 👍

Went to the name that tune event and literally wasnt anywhere to sit plus everyone was extremely rude

We had a nice dinner there. The outdoor patio area is great. Most of it is shaded, and they have a bags game set up.

Asked to order food at 930 was told the kitchen closes at 10 but the waitress said I couldnt order anything. I had a 2 star rating but Im changing it to 4 cause the bartender definitely made it righ . Thank you !

The food was great! We had some burgers and frips & dip, very good.Service was a little slow but not horrible.

Food is decent service is terrible. I had to get my own menu and wait almost 10 min for a water many other balls dropped during our dinner.

They totally screwed up my order.ordered a crispy chicken wrap, sweet potatoe fries and cottage cheese, and raspberry tea, I got a grilled chicken wrap, regular fries, no cottage cheese. Never ask my husband and I if needed more refills on drinks. My husband ordered fries, and a cheeseburger, and beer. His cheeseburger was so dry, and never got a glass of water he asked for either. Do Ask For OUR Ticket For HIS food, Because I Bever Ate Any Of Mine, Never EVEN COMPT ME My tea. Will not be going back, we ust to go to the one on Blairs ferry all the time

This place isnt really my scene, per say, but they have really decent food, a huge patio for nice summer days and they always seem to have some sort of a live band (sometimes even one inside and one outside).

I understand it was a busy Friday night but we had a reserved party room for a Rehearsal Dinner. We order our food and it took literally 2 hours to get food.

Nice decor but food was cold and one persons meal was forgotten, came after everyone else was finished eating and they didnt take anything off the bill. Wont be going back

Would be 2.5 if I could. Great facility but slow staff. Food and drinks both take forever. Good live music setting.

Had lunch with my husband and my best friend & her boyfriend, bloody mary bar was fabulous food was excellent except for the size of fries given..and staff was off, but the rest makes up for it..

Its a cool bar Id go early it fills up fast weekends r prolly when that happens most they have live bands and cool entertainment for the crowd

I had the breakfast buffet, the food was alright but the selection was sparse. Would have been a good deal for a few less dollars.

Ordered a cod sandwich and fries. I believe it was the worst fish sandwich I have ever had. I do no recommend.

Bar food, large beer selection, small wine selection. Origanily a bank, so big and open. Outdoor seating in the drive thru teller area!

We had appetizers and drinks. The drinks were watered down, and the nachos looked and tasted like they had been sitting for a LONG time before they arrived at our table. Really disappointed...

Tried to go here last night. No one to greet you, menu ordinary. Asked what brand of wine they had. Only one brand. Very cheep wine Had to leave a go elsewhere.
