I attended a retreat where Charhonda was one of the vendors and she provided massage sessions. She provided 2 options to receive the massage (table or chair). She proceeded to ask if there were any areas of focus, and I was not sure and told her to do her thing. My past experiences with massages were not great, and I would leave in pain.Even though the session took place outside by a lake, she made the experience very relaxing, and soothing and played background music which added to the overall experience.She is highly skilled and knowledgeable, and the massage itself was incredibly rejuvenating and therapeutic. She used just the right amount of pressure and focused on the areas that needed the most attention.She has the hands of gold! I felt relaxed and refreshed after the session. I would highly recommend Charhonda to anyone looking for a therapeutic massage experience. Everyone who walked away after receiving a massage shared the same amazing experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just had the same experience as others who recently reviewed Purely Kneaded. My fiancee bought a Groupon for a 90 min swedish couples massage as a Valentines gift to find out they dont have any therapists available for months and that wed have to split up to different days (not a couples massage as advertised). Once booked, my fiancees got cancelled via an email (with plenty of notice) and got refunded half of the Groupon value. I assumed mine was still active, as there was no notification or any indication that mine was cancelled at all. So weeks go by and I show up 20 mins early to my appointment time, as requested, to find the door locked and nobody at the front desk. I tried knocking, calling their phone, and waiting until past the appointment time until eventually one of the therapists (who was in session) left her customer to apologize and tell me they dont take Groupon anymore, and my appointment should have been automatically canceled. Mind you we called them directly to make the appointments, and didnt actually book anything through the Groupon app. It wasnt, and we were never refunded the second half of the balance. I would have appreciated a call or at least a receptionist or owner to talk with rather than standing outside and interrupting another customers massage. Just displeased with the whole experience.Edit: when I check Groupon, it says the code was redeemed when Purely Kneaded never provided their service and instead turned me away at the door. Really not a good look.

I recently received a Groupon for a 60 minute Swedish massage. I booked my appointment 2 months in advance. I just received an email saying Purely Kneaded Bodywork cancelled my appointment because they no longer accept Groupons and did not give me a refund. They also are saying that my code was redeemed when I never used it. Now I am having trouble contacting Groupon for a refund. Really disappointed in this establishment.

I purchased a couples massage as a Christmas present and choosing Purely Kneaded Bodywork with Charhonda & Andrew was the BEST decision I’ve made in a long time. I have never gotten a massage before and I have never felt more calm & rejuvenated in my life! The Purely Kneaded team went above & beyond in every aspect. They were very professional & made sure we were comfortable and they were extremely knowledgeable. We loved the personal touch with petals, desserts, calm music & wine. Above all, Charhonda did amazing hitting all of my pressure points caused by scoliosis with ease - I haven’t felt this great in so long (I almost fell asleep on the table if that says anything). I bought 2 Groupon’s for a 90 minute swedish massage, one for my boyfriend as a present and one for me, on February 9th. This morning, I got an email from Groupon saying they are canceling and refunding my orders (which I wont know if they actually did for 10 days) and that the company was the one to do it. It also says “Fulfilled” when I go to my purchases groupons, which it certainly wasn’t. The groupon’s don’t expire till August and I bought them, not even a month ago. There were a few reviews warning people of this business and them marking people’s groupon as fulfilled when they never were! Very unhappy with this business. If you didn’t want to discount your service THEN DONT POST IT ON GROUPON

I bought a couples massage to convince my husband to try it for his back pain (Hed never have gone alone). After our wonderful session, not only was he pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoyed the experience, but he was moving better and with less pain as soon as he got off the table. And of course, I was a relaxed little puddle of happy myself! We would love to go back often, but we are way down south of Charlotte. If youre nearby, dont wait. Just do it. Its worth it!

Amazing! I went for a lymphatic massage after having surgery and it was sooo helpful. I could feel and the fluid moving and I was much less bloated the next day. My body felt great and movement was easier. Would definitely recommend!

Had a 2 oclock appointment. Arrived 20 min early, door locked. Called 4 times over an hour before I received any response. Said it was cancelled and they let me know at 12 in my email because they couldnt verify Groupon. An hour to get there, over an hour wait to get a response and they cancelled. If they paid me, I would never go there again. Very unprofessionalm

My husband got a subscription for me for a prenatal massage and it was the best gift ever. Charhonda was professional and friendly and customized my massages according to my needs. Hello back pain and round ligament pain. She even stretched me and got me ready for labor. I have decided not to leave at that and actually continue on with regular massage. My only regret was not coming to her as sooner. If you need a massage therapist dont hesitate to give Purely Kneaded Bodywork a try. You will be glad you did!

The Best Couple Massage Ever!!I came from out of town and decided to gift my friend with a Couples massage. We went on Friday the 13th and it was Wonderful and Relaxing. As soon as we walked in, you could feel the calming atmosphere, and the room had the perfect ambiance. We had Charhonda and another wonderful massage therapist (I forget her name). Both were extremely friendly as well as very professional. The booking process was easy to navigate. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment if you are seeking a Wonderful Massage experience. This is a scam. I got a Groupon for this location. I have yet to make any contact with this place, and suddenly one day my Groupon shows redeemed. I called the location multiple times to clarify if this was done by mistake as I never even had an appointment scheduled so how can it be redeemed? They never returned my phone calls or voicemails. Have escalated to Groupon and reported as a scam. Not sure how the massage is but clearly they are in this business to scam else they would have returned my phone calls.

I was looking specifically for a black owned business. I. Found the right person. This young lady is a miracle worker. I’ve had sciatica issues for over a year. I had one massage and stretching from her and I was in great shape for a good 8 weeks. I could walk without a limp. Walk up stairs. I’m still doing better than I was. I signed up for two more sessions & sure I’ll have many more to help with my ongoing issue and just to have a massage to relief stress. Her boutique is nice and cozy, clean and she made me feel very comfortable.

Can’t even get them on a phone call to make a reservation. I’ve tried calling 6 different times within the week and not once did they answer the phone. I got a Groupon for this place as a gift and I’m am requesting my friend to get a refund…so I tried and placed a reservation online through their website instead and my credit card was IMMEDIATELY charged. Also says that you don’t get a refund back automatically in some cases so please call to have them process the refund. But guess what?? I can’t reach them! EVER!

I chose to go to Purely Kneaded Body work for the first time on Sunday. When I tell you this woman had me so relaxed when I left. I get massages very often and she was one of the best if not THE best massage in Charlotte. Her mannerisms were out of this world. The area was clean and sanitary. She wore a mask and also advised me to wear one as well when I was on my back, Something about that comforted me. It only gave me 5 stars to rate it but she honestly deserves much more. I cant wait for my next visit with Charhonda. I will be a loyal customer from now on! :)

Candles, native based music (she is native), small cheese cake and sparkling cider, and plus two amazing masseuses. Cant really comment on how the massage may have been since I never got that far to actually get the service I was requesting. It was around my bday and at that time was looking to get a couples massage.I looked online but called because it was a quick book. There was an opening (online) for the day I wanted; but of course when I called she (I believe I spoke with charonda) said she was not in that day (for the service I wanted) and the site was wrong.Kind of put a dent in the plan; but I still wanted to be flexible (I was booking short notice but the opening was there! So I didnt understand the issue). So, I reached back out with a message inquiring regarding the next availability for that particular service. Never got a response. So much for supporting small and black owned business. 0 stars for the service, or lack thereof.

My boyfriend and I were looking for the best place to get a couples massage, and Purely Kneaded Bodywork was one of the first suggestions we got. We both had different goals coming into the massage (his was for relaxation, mine was more focused on my back and sore muscles). The whole experience was amazing! The best I have felt coming out of a massage because of their skills as well as their ability to make such a comfortable environment. We will definitely come back!

I would not recommend this company. I purchased a Groupon and called to schedule. It took several attempts to get a returned call and was finally able to schedule a massage several weeks later. On the day of the massage the vendor cancelled saying she would call me to reschedule but she did not. I contacted her again and she offered me one time at 1pm on a Wednesday which I could not make because of work. I asked for different time options but she never responded again. I contacted Groupon and requested a refund.

I have been getting massages for more than a decade and experienced numerous therapists, but none compare to Charhonda! Shes highly knowledgeable, effective, and professional. Booked a couples massage for my boyfriend’s birthday because it had great reviews. They canceled our appointment a few hours before we were scheduled to go and did not make any attempt to reschedule us as they are “removing all couples massages at the moment.” Very disappointed.

Horrible experience! I already paid for two more sessions still in pain due to surgery I arrive there and no one was there I was told an emailed was sent out to me the night before stating that appointment was with someone else at a different time! The owner did NOT call me but send a email I had no idea who the other person was that was going to do my massage but I had to go with her because I didnt have a choice at the time she was actually better! than I wake up this morning and check my voicemail and the owner canceled all my services in the middle of my healing process smh!! and I didnt even do anything at all she one that canceled on me?? Confused?? I will never support a black business again this was a horrible experience and I never leave reviews at all but with this experience I had to let people know!! Please do your research!!! I find someone way more professional and cheaper and does an amazing job!!!

What a wonderful experience. My girlfriend booked us a couples massage and we were met with chocolate covered strawberries, wine, and an extremely comfortable atmosphere. Tahj was fantastic! He really listened to my concerns with my back and focused on the areas that needed attention rather than ignoring my requests, which I have experienced with other massage places. He was friendly and thorough. The only downfall was I bought the Groupon with Percussion add-on and it died during my session and needed to be charged. Location was pretty and I liked that Tahj asked me what background music I wanted during my massage. Really relaxing, will be back

This was by far the best massage I have ever had. I went with a lot of tightness and pain in my shoulders. I had went to the hospital the week prior to my massage had to get a shot for muscle relaxers and it still didn’t work. Once I receive this massage from Charhonda I have not had any pain. Her hands are blessed!!!!!! I recommend seeing her for all massage needs!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!

I was seeking a deep tissue massage, and I was greatly surprised when I went to Purely Kneaded Bodywork. The massage therapist, Charhonda was amazing and applied strong pressure throughout the session. The facility was clean and well-kept and it was professionally managed. I look forward to my next deep tissue massage.

I have never left a negative review before, but I purchased a Groupon for a massage, and the day of my appointment I noticed my voucher was redeemed a couple days prior. I contacted her to make sure everything was all good, and she said she already saw me last week. My voucher was redeemed for someone else who had the same first name, but different last name by the merchant. It was an honest mistake, but did not own up to it and try to say “maybe it was someone you know.” Groupon un-redeemed it for me, but I still couldn’t come in because my confirmed appointment that I had an email for didn’t sync to her “personal schedule.” She did not apologize once or even try to make it right, and it wasn’t until I said I will just leave a review that someone apologized to me.

Scam! Found this place on Groupon, she redeemed my Groupon and never provided service . Have tried multiple time to call and left voicemails. Don’t waste your time or money !

Scheduled a couple’s massage while in town celebrating my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. We both enjoyed our massages, just wished we booked a longer time! Very professional and attentive.

TL/DR; DO NOT use this company if you can avoid it. I cant speak for anyone else, but my experience with Purely Kneaded Bodywork (PKB for short) was AWFUL.Im going to list out my interactions/attempts at working with PKB.1. I purchased my groupon for a couples massage in December for my wife. I tried to reach out to schedule and had weeks of back and forth with PKB before finally getting it on the calendar. I get it. Scheduling can be tough sometimes - especially when running your own business. No problem.2. Once it was on the calendar, PKB asked us to fill out a medical screen, which included a COVID screen as a virtual form. We both filled this out, and had no problem with it. Everyone - ourselves included - are being safe right now, so we filled that out promptly. This medical screen asked about medical history. I have chronic lower back pain, so I listed that as a symptom (thinking that a massage therapist would like that information).3. A few days later, the **exact night that we were scheduled - 2 HOURS BEFORE the appointment**, PKB called us and asked that I get a formal covid test because I listed chronic lower back pain. The assistant suggested that a cough (that I did not list as a symptom) could somehow cause lower back pain, and thus this is a potential COVID symptom?? They said I need a clean COVID test result within 7 days of the appointment.I disagreed with their thought process, but figured hey, this is kind of annoying, but I get it - theyre trying to be safe. Fine.We then reschedule for next week and I schedule a COVID test.4. I take time out of my work day to go get a COVID test done. It comes back negative. Nice - were in the clear and can now get our massage - right? NOPE.2 days before were scheduled for our appointment, they ask for my COVID test results. I send it to them. Then they ask for **my wifes** COVID test results...My wife had zero symptoms listed on her medical screen. PKB did NOT tell us that she had to get a COVID screen (my wife was on speaker phone with me on the first reschedule call, and she agrees that PKB did not ask for this).I explain to them that PKB did not ask for my wife to get a COVID screen, but for just ME to get a COVID screen. They then outright LIE and say that I listed chronic coughing as a symptom on my medical screen (Ive literally never had chronic coughing in my life - why on earth would I list this as a symptom during a COVID pandemic if its not accurate).They then try to use this lie as justification to reschedule my appointment and force my wife to get a screen and due to the 7 day requirement, meant I would have to take time away to get tested again too.This lack of professionalism, timeliness, and failure to clearly communicate had reached the point of being unacceptable. So I promptly ask for a refund - which of course, has to go through Groupon.Then PKB emails me back and snidely says that theyre not willing to cut corners to make anyone feel comfortable.Seriously? Im not asking you to cut corners to make me feel comfortable, Im asking for you to CLEARLY COMMUNICATE and not LIE to me so you dont waste hours of my wife and Is time trying to navigate your terrible communication skills, illogical thought processes, and lack of scheduling ability.In summary:If PKB has simply said up front on their website or at some point during scheduling that they require a clean COVID-19 test within 7 days of service, we wouldve done that with no complaints. Were not some crazy people who dont think COVID is a real thing. We wear masks everywhere we go, and were very safe about who we interact with.Instead of clearly communicating, PKB chose to cancel last minute, LIE, and GASLIGHT us about what they communicated to us during this process.Do. not. waste. your. time.
