I visited this establishment for my birthday & I must say I really enjoyed myself. I did bottle service & we were seated in the patio area which was spacious & really nice. They had food trucks on the premises (food was great) & our waitress was really nice & professional. I also had the pleasure to meet one of the owners Clyde. He greeted us & asked us about our experience which was nothing less than AMAZING!!! We had to park a little far but other than that I had a good time.
I came into town. Came here to order food. The food was a little pricey for the portion given. Went into the restaurant, no tissue or paper towels. I asked a young lady named Dee, who was rude when asked about placing tissue in the bathroom. I requested the manager and was advised they were the manager and no one else over them. I met my business partner outside to inform him Im ready to go because of the service I wasnt pleased with and what occurred. My business partner went across the street to speak with PR regarding a section for the evening. Was only outside standing discussing business under 10 mins. They car was towed and was informed that the owner Clyde called/ texted requested for the car to be removed. I spoke back to rude girl D manager asking why car was towed because we were patrons there just ran across street to conduct business less than 10 mins. They said they have no idea and they tow watchers. I requested Clyde, who tow Guy LA told me who made a request. When I spoke to Clyde, he denied everything, with no empathy or sympathy regarding this scam. The tow company informed them that they dont watch cars because they had a bad run end with them requesting cars to come back and not pay. He said Clyde reached out to him and showed the message and call. He said every car owner gets a small token. Now, Clyde said that folks, not patrons, have to pay $30. However, we were and no signs out, but park here, no dollar amount listed. Also, no parking attendees cover the lot if folks want to park or money box to pay for slots. After further research, he had run ends with the city last summer about to lose property and volume low. So, hes on a money hunt to make up his loose. But this is unacceptable, and especially, not knowing my role with the city. Lets see how things turn out for 2024. Mr. Clyde.
I came here on 1/9/21 around 7:20pm with friends to celebrate a couple birthdays. Social distancing isnt really followed. It was packed inside. Masks are required, however. Staff are wearing masks. They have fires and heaters outside, but it was cold. The only app they have is salmon bites. Since we were only coming where for drinks before going to our dinner reservation at 8pm, I wanted an app due to not eating since earlier. The only app they have is salmon bites. When I ordered it, the waitress left and then came back and told me that they didnt have anymore Its disappointing that they only have 1 app and then didnt even have any. We asked for the drink menu for specials but then the waitress never came back with with. I eventually went inside and got my card back from the waitress (as I agreed to keep my tab open). Throughout my time here, several people asked if we were helped and wanted anything but I said I was fine after our waitress didnt help. Plus we had to leave by 7:45pm. It just wasnt worth it anymore, tbh. I didnt want to spend money here Im not sure if I would be back here. Although the items on the menu looked good, they need to ensure food availability. We were sat at table 22 outside and then table 39 inside. Note: I didnt get any food or drinks from this establishment, so I cant judge on the taste or quality of food/drinks. Review is solely based upon customer service and covid precautions.
This is a CUTE spot! Lots of seating, especially outdoors. The staff shirts are hella dope and I like the vibe. Destiny was our bartender. Im a tried and true long Island drinker, and she did not hesitate to make it the best one! Added some strawberry grenadine, a lemon and a fresh strawberry! It was strong and tasty! She was sweet and intentional! I appreciate that on black establishments!! This was my 1st time and I will definitely return!!
My first time in Charlotte and was looking for a place to watch the Fury fight. 1501 not only had free admission they had no charge to watch the fight!! The staff is super friendly and the drinks are AMAZING!! I luv that they have card games and my favorite Jenga. Looking for a new place to vibe with a diverse crowd 1501 is a must visit. If I make it back for CIAA Basketball tournament Ill be here again for sure!!
We went here for a happy hour recently and it was a really cool place to hang out. They have a handful of taps and a large selection of bottles. They had snacks available for purchase as well as two food trucks. One of them is permanently there and I think the other one rotates.I got a carnitas burrito from the food truck owned by Max and Lola. It was really good, but a little on the small side. Since people tried empanadas from the other food truck and werent very impressed. We sat outside because someone had a dog and they dont allow dogs inside. The outdoor area is really nice. There are lots of picnic tables in the shade. There was live music playing inside as well. This feels like a great neighborhood hangout and something unique to South End. I would recommend checking it out!
Went to a car show. Bathroom had no soap, no toilet paper. I told the staff about both but they only replaced the toilet paper after they told me they refilled both. Drinking glasses were so filthy that the staff even laughed when I returned my Manhattan. Finally they put it in a plastic cup and the drink was delicious. Hookah overpriced compared to other spots 57.00 to 75.00 for hookah. The food truck on site was delicious. Shrimp and stir-fry by Perrys was amazing. 💯 Ill rate them separately 5🤩 stars.
I up here with a small group of friends after enjoying dinner for a friends birthday. Despite it being a Saturday night, we were able to walk right in with no wait. A few people immediately went to the bar and ordered drinks and walked around. Some of us stayed behind to secure seating. After a few minutes, we were able to find a table. Our server was attentive throughout our stay. The music was good. The people were chill. Attire was varied but casual is definitely acceptable. Overall it was definitely a nice vibe. I would definitely plan to return in the future.Pro-tip: Plan extra time for parking. Street parking is available but can fill up quickly.
Definitely would return here next time I’m in Charlotte.Time: Friday 10:30pmAtmosphere: Indoor and Outdoor options!Food: There was a food truck on premises serving tacos(I didn’t eat thought because I had prior)There’s Drinks, Hookah, and Cigars available which is very diverse.Music: Dj was creating a vibe although it seems at like 12am they have to turn down the music on the patio.Price: FREE ENTRY. Drinks were around $13 for patron&pineapple. Hookah was $50.Parking: This is the only thing that was difficult. Seems like on all of the surrounding streets there are no parking signs. However everyone parked there anyway so I guess it’s cool. We parked where it said no parking and it was cool. I also didn’t notice anyone getting towed or ticketed so….
One of my favorite lounge vibes in the city. Grown and sexy without being TOO mature. It’s just right! The staff is always prompt, friendly and approachable. The ambiance is nice.
My biggest issue is the mosquito infestation. You have to have your legs covered when coming here. Im thinking it might be that fake grass. The 33&Main food truck is hitting. Drinks are a bit over priced. The environment overall is nice.Update: I heard it was possibly fleas from the old dog park that use to be there. Smh
This place is outstanding! The wife and I came for 33 & Main and found 1501 S. Mint. A beautiful black owned outdoor lounge and bar. Also Perrys food truck was there with Fresh Grilled Delicious Foodie Favorites and Diet Friendly food.
Max & Lolas is a lowkey spot in the Wilmore neighbor of Charlotte of of S. Mint St. they offer a selection of wine and beer and have a food truck that sells nachos, burritos and quesadillas.they also have gigantic brownies for $2The staff were friendly and offered us recommendations.Theres seating inside but I liked sitting out front. The decorum is bright and lively with pictures or notable women painted with a rollerset( my face is Daria)We paid for our drinks and order our drinks inside then picked up the food from the food truck outside. we ordered the steak quesadillas and pork carnitas burrito. the meat is seasoned so well it was savory.Definitely recommend and will be back !
The vibe is cool, but I wasnt feeling the music at all, and neither were the people I was with. There is no variety. Its just straight rap ALL night. The majority was down South Rap. No R&B, no afrobeats... nothing. For the most part, its an older crowd, which is cool, I just wish they had more variety when it comes to the music.
1501 can be hit or miss. It can get overcrowded, to the point of annoyance. Due to the al fresco nature of the venue, it gets really hot/humid during the warmer months. Last time I was here with a friend, we stood under a large fan/AC unit, lol. This was after 11PM. The bartenders can be a little slow. I dont think the lounge itself serves food, but there is often a food truck onsite.
I’ve been here countless times with a variety of friends. Unfortunately my most recent time was the least favorable. It was a party of 5 females and they refused to seat us unless we purchased a bottle. However ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in the area had a bottle.
Please put some fans outside! This is an outdoor venue in the South! Liquor and heat dont mix. Lol. Pay to sit down? $50 minimum. Why is it our businesses that want the patronage but then charge us out the wazoo?! Not looking for a hook up just reasonable prices.
We went in the evening for the food truck recommendations. If there was more lighting we would have enjoyed sitting outside. Just too dark for us. Food was ok and we see room for improvement.
Super chill vibe spot depending on the night you go. Me and my gf went to enjoy they drinks, music and food. They have cabanas and tables that free during the week and on the weekend you can rent them. Typically they have local food trucks on site that you can try a lot of them were pretty good. Overall a cool hang out spot no matter what day of the week.
This establishment is a nice small spot that is not capable of supporting the crowd it draws. Nice establishment but severely understaffed at the bar. Expect incredibly long wait times for a drink, and that’s if you get one. Long wait for drinks and long wait for the bathroom. Bad combo and I’m here on a Thursday I hate to see what the weekend is like..
Really cool venue. Our party had a good time. Good vibrations, good crowd – no riffraff. The only thing I didnt understand was that our waitress wouldnt let us pour our own drinks and we had a section. The guy selling shrimp & crab egg rolls were a huge plus, they were very scrumptious.
Food truck food good, the servers not knowing if tables or chairs were reserved or not only because they just know hookah was not cool. Drinks super overpriced and bartender service was pretty sad. I have been here several times, the day party yesterday was not it.
I had a terrible experience last night at the AZ event. I cannot even call it a concert which was how it was advertised- I will not get into that here as it’s not even the bain of existence for this review. Here’s the timeline of events that I hope paints a picture for you:I arrived at 9:45p for an event starting at 9p. Didn’t get in until after 12a due to poor event management and to make matters worse it promptly ended at 1a. There was no coordination and the little that they tried to have was completely off.An incredibly rude bouncer screamed and belittled the crowd for rightfully complaining about the long wait times ( 2+ hours)— several times on multiple occasions. There was no organization whatsoever. The bouncer attempted to create new lines for “cash only” attendees for a SOLD OUT ‘EVENTBRITE’ EVENT —which ended up infuriating ticket holders who had been patiently waiting for as mention, 2+ hours. Make that make sense. No one apologized to crowd goers, multiple people ended up leaving. Separately, I paid $15 for parking to ensure I was close to the venue. Here’s some advice to the owners from a customer service perspective:1. Know your crowd base and cater to it. The crowd for this event were fans of Golden Era Hip Hop (40+). This crowd scheduled time to support their favorite artist/Black Establishments —at a local venue. To have us ( and them) wait that long without an apology or offering water or showing sympathy was so disheartening.2. Your front end staff makes or breaks the experience. The bouncer— whose IG handle I do have if needed— was not the face of the brand you needed that night or any if that’s their consistent energy/personality.3. Invest in event coordination— or have it contracted so that the artists has to provide one for the event.4. Hire more security or invest in a metal detector to speed up the process. There’s no reason why you had 2 security officers patting down people if you expected such a large crowd. You knew how many people were coming as you knew how many tickets were sold.5. Walk through an event plan prior to the actual event. There clearly wasn’t one and it showed.6. Take full responsibility and ownership of poor experiences. Scapegoating the promoters is cowardly. Accountability costs nothing.7. Have full transparency and visibility with the crowd. Honest answers and not just the run around are respectable ways to honors your guests.I do wish this venue the best and hope that better choices are made so future concert goers do not waste money or time.If you’re looking for staff management assistance or consulting , please reach out to me and I’ll get you in touch with local industry experts.
I had a terrible experience last night at the Ashanti all white party and a refund should be given. The event started at 3pm we left after waiting 5hrs for her to show up because it started to rain. The bouncers are unnecessarily rude! I patiently waited at least 30mins to order a drink from your bartenders that act like were bothering them.I will never visit this place again.
Nice spot to hang out and enjoy some drinks in the outdoor patio area. They do not serve any food here but usually there is a food truck/tent parked outside for everyone to enjoy. There is a membership but its only a one time $10 fee for the year and once you become a member, you should not have to wait in the long non-member line. Great vibes, great music, great people!
Im not sure if it depends on what day you go but I expected to have an option for a sit down meal, only had 2 food trucks, one of which was practically sold out of everything & the other was so slow & slightly unprofessional, I almost forgot I ordered... nice & spacious patio/outdoor area
Extremely disappointed with how business was conducted. Promoted a show for 04/20 with The Hamiltones from 7pm-11pm. Charged $10 cover charge to enter, sat there until 10pn, no show, to Hamiltones, nothing. Drinks are good but overpriced and they have food trucks but now make the food trucks setup inside of their perimeter as an effort to force people to pay to get into the venue. Ver disappointing. I really had high hopes for this establishment but I will not be patronizing this establishment anymore.
Very interesting spot. It was hot that evening so I am not sure. It has a lot of space and is not that crowded. Food trucks were good a little pricey and one eran out of food. I would try it again.
This place used to be good...., now they hold the line for HRS!!!! even if you have a ticket... THE LONGER PPL ARE IN LINE, THE LESS TIME THEY WILL HAVE TO SPEND MONEY AT THE BAR!!!! the guys letting ppl in need to do something else....You get a table, buy food, then if you get up to go to the bathroom the staff comes and throws your drinks and food away..WTH.. !!!! THIS PLACE HAS BECOM A JOKE...😡
Visited on 5/1/21 was told it is a membership bar which is fine. We paid our money only to then be told the seating is seat yourself and there were no empty/available seats. We waited 35 minutes to get a seat and when we did no one from the staff ever came to clean it. We then ordered from the food truck which they told us it would be 30-35 minutes prior to paying and then when we paid the guy who took our order told us it would be 40-45 minutes. The ambience seems nice but we couldn’t even enjoy it or really experience this place because the lack or really non existent customer service, misleading information when entering and uncomfortableness of not having available seating. There needs to be a bouncer or someone at the door who is keeping track of seating, if not then just don’t allow other people to come in.
My homegirl had a surprise bday giben there... very nice and sexy atmosphere! Had a ball! Drink were great too!
Classy and sassy with a super chill ambiance. The set up is perfect, with covered patios, live DJ, hookah and great food. Do yourself a favor and get a plate from Ronnie outside on the patio. The food is superb..I got the lamb chops, seafood rice and charred broccoli, and it was top quality, you will not be disappointed. Even met one of the owners, such a chill spot.
I was actually doing security at this establishment! Doing the Ashanti concert! But it was our love! The promoters, the waitresses, us security personnel... We all did a great job...
Went on a Saturday and the crowd was basically twenties and thirties. The Friday night crowd appeared to be more mature around forties and fifties. There is a large amount of outdoor space to socialize with limited seating. The most comfortable spacious seating comes at a cost of ~$300 for a 2 bottle minimum. No food is served - only alcohol and water. There are also hookahs available for purchase. A modest membership fee and registration is required to enter and theres a fast moving line. Overall, outside of being currently trendy, eat before you go and lower your expectations. This is a place to socialize and nothing more.
I went last Night Terrible service with over priced drinks but it was free to get in lol. Just random servers asking if you want a drink charging you different prices . Hookah vender had attitude because one of the two coals dropped to the floor. Requested that we pay for a repack to get another fresh coal however at the end of the conversation she replaced one coal with attitude and storms off lol.. Not upscale definitely hood vibes for what supposed to be a membership environment.
Very neat little place. Went here when they had a food truck and live music. Definitely family and dog friendly, as well as adult friendly too. Similar concept to Rhino or Common market where they have a bar as well as retail options with a wide variety. Im giving it only 4 stars because when I went outside on the patio to enjoy the live music there werent enough to fit the 5 families and 8 kids between them which were running around and had to dodge.. More outdoor seating would be a must especially for such an occasion as live music, since I understand kids will be kids.
Good vibes, drinks are not worth price, they do have an array of specialty drinks. They are constantly making improvements. Wish they had more then 2 bathrooms. The crowd makes the place great, grown and laid back. Customer service is wishy washy, you have great servers then you have ones who just work there. Live band on Fridays, Sunday Funday, and multiple events throughout the week. Table reservations are done by email and not replied to in a timely manner. I sent an email specifically stating the date, and they replied the next day about reservations for that day. I go there at least once a week.
This restaurant has the inside track. Not only do they have a comfortable an inviting bar area, they have an awesome patio. I had the pleasure of ordering food at the food truck and it is AMAZING. I had lamb chops that were so tender, fresh green beans, roasted vegetables, seafood rice and salmon. They give alot of food. I ate off the plate for a whole day. I will definitely be going back.
I came here 6/17/22 to celebrate a coworkers retirement. Initially it seemed like a nice spot, but I was wrong! I sat on one of the love seat and one of the legs broke. Then after the staff attempted to fix it and could not the lady at the door told me I would have to stand up. After I expressed that it was unacceptable that Im asked to stand because the furniture broke, our party was moved to another table. Once we were done buying the drinks we were asked to get up because we werent buying a bottle! So as we were ending our night and standing at the opening of building we were asked once again to move!! Why would you treat customers this way when you dont know who we are or who we know! They need a 0 star!! Will never return nor promote this business!!!!!
Great music, seating VERY limited. My 1st times here the bartender charged me 70$ for two drinks and had to the nerve to tell me she included a tip (excuse me). Then they started us at a table but hours later moved us to another table to accommodate some people who wanted to be seated with a large party, after wed been seated there for HOURS, they moved us to another table only to ask us to move again after an hour or maybe an half hour, we moved right out the door. They never have a variety of drinks, ALWAYS out of liquor and a very very selective beer menu. They only have 2 bathrooms so the WAIWAIT too use the restrooms are outrageous. Not to mention the restrooms are never clean. The place needs staff to check on the restrooms periodically, especially with the large staff they have, thats just ridiculous. They make to much money to only have 2 bathrooms with over 800 people patronizing this establishment. The hookahs are good only problem is if youre sitting outside, which majority are, the wind blows your coals which makes the hookah burn faster because theyre not covered and youll have to pay an additional 20 on top of the 35/40$ for a refill. The place is made out to be more than what it is. Smh.
Food and drinks were great. A little pricier than normal but expected. The only disappointment is that I wanted jerk chicken and it wasn’t ready and they were out of several options. If you open at 2, food should be ready by 2. I settled on shrimp and grits. My bf ordered the lamb chops. Both were outstanding but not very filling esp. for the price. I would come again to support this black owned business but I hope they address the minor concerns.
We visited to celebrate my birthday. We paid a $20 membership fee per person, later seeing it advertised for $10. After ordering a bottle of wine, we were told on Fridays, no wine glasses were available. After requesting a seat swap for rocking chair, we were told chairs were not to be swapped out. And after the sun was setting, someone came around to open the table umbrellas while we were eating. Our experience was not a pleasant one. The rationale given for each scenario was less than acceptable. The owner said sorry. But made no adjustments or accommodations. And as a result, 1 star has been awarded. Very disappointed
This is definitely your after hours spot. The ambiance alone is so inviting from multiple outdoor areas to the indoor area that has big screen tvs for any sports fan along with a bar with any drink of your choice. The food was on point and I received more than enough to share with my husband for only $15. Were visiting from out of town and there was a $10 one time fee since this is a membership establishment. Will definitely be back the next time I visit Charlotte.
If I could give them a zero, I would. This was my first, last and worst experience with them tonight. I called ahead to see if they had a wait and they said no. When we got there, we paid our $10 membership fee and was told the only table available was one where we were required to buy a bottle. When we asked how much the bottle would be, we were told it would be a minimum of $175. We immediately left. I felt very slighted and wasted $10 because i thought we would be able to get a table but ended up having to leave because we weren’t going to pay $175 for a bottle that i could get for $50 at the ABC store. My advice to y’all, please be transparent with folks on phone about your practices. We were just looking for a place to watch the game and eat. It would have been helpful before hand to know that your availability was under certain conditions. Do better.
This place is phenomenal. Best service, great drinks and the food is fantastic. The salmon BLT and the Brussel Sprouts. Damn! Also met one of the owners, Leslie and you can tell she cares. Lovely to see an owner working at their business on a Friday night, showing that they care and love what they are building.
Enjoyed the atmosphere!!! Some of the drinks are over priced. U wont know until you get your bill though!!!! They add an extra $2 if you get a cocktail. Customer service was lack luster on a busy day. It takes a while to get someone and then takes longer to get your drink. Perhaps additional staff is needed. Ill give it another try though.
This place is ridiculous. 20.00 “membership fee” you can’t sit anywhere unless you pay 75-100 bucks for limited time if two hours max lol . No hookah at the bar or anywhere else unless it’s a paid table. Feel like I’m at my grandparents reunion with how low the music is lol I’ll give it to them it’s in a neighborhood but still doesn’t give fun/live vibe.
They wanted to not do a members line on a Saturday night, which is fine Im not a member but they were holding lines and there were two lines and you couldnt pay to skip line so didnt understand the point of that. Not only that you had people skipping to get to the front of the line stating they have been in and one chick stated that they didnt and asked my people if we wanted to skip too. Guess she felt bad for skipping us. Not only that but the bartenders are rude and not attentive to the crowd where you can be at the bar and they are on their phones or talking to someone they know thats at the bar. Beyond that the drinks are too pricey I got 5 shots and somehow that came up to be $89 bucks??? It wasnt top shelf where I can get shots about $8 bucks or so a piece. So yeah never coming back here again this establishment needs a rework on how they run business.
Great location/ambiance, terrible service. I had the worst “dining” experience ever. We decided to go to the Taco Tuesday event they advertised heavily on their Instagram page. Waited almost 2 and a half hours for tacos. Out of the 3 of us who ordered, one person did not get their order at all. When we addressed the missing order with the manager we were told she would check on it, she then came back to tell us the order was being made. Almost 30 minutes after being told the missing order was being made, we were told they were out of product. They were clearly under staffed which we were sympathetic to, but there is no excuse for the service or lack there of that was given. To her credit she did refund us for all 3 orders, however it doesn’t replace the time wasted or the terrible experience in itself. This business is set to thrive, and it’s unfortunate that the breakdown in operations will probably be its downfall. 1501 should never advertise itself as a restaurant.
This place is amazing!!!! The service is top notch. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. They are constantly checking in to make sure youre good. Came on a Wednesday and there was a food truck that was selling blackened salmon and lamb chops and brussel sprouts and jerk chicken. I wish I could give it 10 stars.
This place is under bad management. We went to see AZ and the sound was terrible!!! The bartenders are rude!! The bar line is ridiculous!! You will stand in line for at least an hour for a drink. This place is not all of that. Its not designed well at all. This will probably be my last time!!!
I wish I could give them a ZERO and get a refund at the same time. The main issue I have with this establishment is with the chick that was checking me in…she was not only rude, hostile and then called security on me. Mind you I’m active duty; she was an AKA so I did expect better, but once again…sadly disappointed. Then she gave me back my Military ID and said it wasn’t an “ID” cause it wouldn’t register in the system. We really have to do better to protect our brand, because she was clueless and if she did this to me, you know she did this to others. I’m not from the area, but what I do know is not to do business with this establishment again whenever I am in Charlotte.
The line was ridiculous to get in and then the member thing was kind of ridiculous… but our waitress Gabby was great!!! She was sweet and attentive!!! The little cabana /tAble we had was cute. The food truck was good too but I didn’t get their name 🤦🏾♀️
I actually really used to love this place, so much that some of the bartenders know me by my face and speak to me when I am out. Anyhow the treatment I received on May 28th was unacceptable. The POS system must need updating because this is the 3rd I was told to pay my membership fee from April… the larger problem is the attitude of the staff. After she demanded I pay my membership fee I told her I was here recently and I have the receipt to show I have paid my membership… instead I was told I was not a member and to get to the back of a line. The hierarchy attitude left a very bad taste in my mouth… and is completely unnecessary when I am a frequent member looking to have a good time.
Its a really nice spot HOWEVER... There is a membership FEE of $10..which you dont have to pay again when you come back...but if you just out bar hopping..NO.. Then depending on where you sit it can range from $50- $150..minThen you have to order food at the food truck.. then hookah at another counter. Everything is separate..kinda inconvenient...bit the atmosphere is nice just a little inconvenient..
If I could give them 0 stars I would. My girlfriend and I went there on a Saturday around 7 p.m. We were charged $20 EACH for entry only to find that there was no seating available. Seats were reserved and had a minimum spend of $75. It was a racket and they clearly have a poor business model based on other reviews.
This place is #1 in Charlotte! The ambiance is so dope I mean I really felt safe at home.I would recommend anyone that visiting Charlotte to go experience the great music and hookahs oh their finger foods are good too. You can assure to have a great night at this spot enjoy 😉
Love this place. The food truck food is great and the atmosphere is chill. Live music on Fridays. Nice place to hang out or casual date. You pay an annual nominal membership fee. I recommend it!
I have attended this establishment several times only to be let down each time. My first and second visit was great. 3rd visit I was charged more for the same drink that I ordered the day before. The 4th visit my friend who applied for a membership the same day I did was told he hadnt and was charged again. This past weekend we were told we could sit anywhere after attempting to purchase a table. We were then told by a waitress that we had to spend $50 min to sit down even though the hostess that was sitting in front of our table said otherwise. After explaining that we were told otherwise we were given an unpleasant look and waitress walked off. Each visit we were polite about the mishaps and tried to continue to support the establishment... I dont see that happening anymore as each person I invite to go has had a bad experience as well as I. Hopefully things get better for them.
Visited Max & Lolas for their grand opening. They have great drinks on tap and a great selection of snacks in the store. The sangria on tap was great for the summer day. There is also a taco truck outside, and the tacos were absolutely delicious. Max & Lolas is also dog friendly. This is a great addition to the area and I look forward to visiting again.
The hostess was so accommodating. We went for my sisters birthday trip and we were with our mother who was on oxygen. The host took care of her like she was her own mother, and it made our night. And dont even get me started on the DJ. Every.single.song was 🔥🔥🔥. Best DJ weve ever heard.
I’m assuming because of the increase in traffic they are manipulating ways to make money. They double book tables and created a false rule after they double book. The owner (female) is a scam, I didn’t believe she was the owner. I would be surprised is she was money laundering.I spent $300 for a table at 3 pm and was told the table was good for the remainder of the night. Some one else came and wanted a table as well; however, because they were book, she took the customers money anyway and told us we would need to leave by 5pm. They have free table in the front (2 hour max) yet manipulated us into buying a table for $300 but gave us a 2 hour max. They refused to make the situation right. Instead threatened to kick me out after filing a formal complaint.Don’t waste your money here. They will up-charge you300% for a bootle and create their on rules to keep the money flowing.
Why can’t I rate them a zero? I was excited about visiting 1501 after following them on Instagram. My friend and I got there a little after 2, and they were closed. Their hours online reflect 2pm and the flyer they posted that morning reflected 1pm. We were really confused, but waited as instructed as things do happen. While waiting, we saw others being seated first. We were the first ones there and the entire venue was empty. Management saw us waiting, and did not try to let us know what was going on or made us feel welcome. We had to continuously approach them for details. I told the manager on duty (a bootleg LL Cool J looking rude man) that their info online isn’t correct and they need to be more organized (after waiting in the sun for 30 mins until they opened). It was now 3pm, but you advertise as “brunch”. He was very rude in his response and told me that I apparently “am never happy”. This man doesn’t know me, and this is not how you speak to customers. I am a well known event planner in Charlotte and was ready to rave about 1501. What a waste of time. It’s not worth the hype and black businesses have got to do better. I will not be returning nor encouraging anyone else to. The server “Tanika” or whatever her name is, also lied about not knowing the managers name when I asked. If you don’t like ghetto, don’t come here.
Nice swanky spot near downtown. Great tasting drinks and good food truck. Lamb chops with blueberry glaze and salmon bites were delicious. Try the signature drink Say no more with vodka or whiskey. Delicious either way but I liked the whiskey version better.
Black owned indoor/outdoor lounge. They also have heaters and firepits on cool nights. This place gets packed fast so get there early. The food is great but there are limited vegan options.
Discrimination at its finest, me and my boyfriend BOTH walked in with terry cloth shorts on and only I could walk in. White guy at the door had his mind made up once he saw my boyfriend walk up and had no explanation to why I could walk in but he couldn’t. Not to mention there were other men inside with non-dress shorts.
Mad at how my $100 deposit didnt go towards my table for my birthday. It defeated the purpose of putting the deposit down so Im been trying to figure out what did it go towards 🤔. Other than that its a really nice spot with good vibes & food. My money is the reason for the three stars. Had I an an explanation my $100 then i couldve given more stars.
I came in this past Sunday around 6:30 and it was probably 5 people in the entire place. I tried to give them another shot but every single time they run out of food. Last night was a terrible experience. The waitress was sweet but had no knowledge of the drink menu. She had to keep going back and forth to the bartender and chef at least 5 times. (Ex- she did not know about a Mai Tai drink!) She never came back to tell me that she had cancelled my entrée due to my girlfriend not getting anything bc they ran out of everything!!! We came for food and drinks and was it a royal mess!! We walked right across the street and had sushi! That was a win!!!!! So much potential but will not be back!!!!
BLACK OWNED BUSINESS BY A SISTA!👏🍸So this was my First visit to the place..have been hearing so many things about it!Atmosphere is very laid back, plenty of seating. COVID guidelines in place. Table service was on point.. Exception is the bar. Very slow & kindy pricey for basic liquors...BUT the drink was tasty! Will definitely be supporting Her!
Such a VIBE!! GREAT place to hang out and hear good music, have good drinks and EXCELLENT service!! This lounge NEVER lets me down
This is a dope spot, positive vibes. Stop thru if you in Charlotte. The food trucks are a bonus. Get a cigar or hookah and vibe out!
Making us pay $25 to their venue in order to access the food trucks! That’s crazy. The food trucks need to move. Not a smart move at all. The amount of people that left because of this.
I love everything about 1501. My favorite day to go is brunch on Sundays. The location has food on Sundays and sports playing on the TV. 1501 also has a indoor area, a outdoor area as well as a cigar lounge and food trucks on the location.
Nice lil vibe.... Had to buy a membership since it was our first time... After being in there for awhile we were basically kicked out because the tables were RSVP which we werent told about prior... The food trucks in the parking lot was good...
It was my daughters birthday and she paid for a cabana to seat a certain number of people, when we got there we were told that they were over capacity so none members were not allowed. If your capacity is over that should mean no one is permitted. We had driven 3 hours to share this night with my daughter and to be turned around by a young nasty security person. He told us you should have showed up sooner and walked away. That was uncalled for.
Nice vibe but....too many unused reserved tables. No where to sit. Drinks are a little pricey and bottled water was $6.22....the only water available. Door security was unprofessional and not welcoming. Too many other places in close proximity for this.
Visiting from out of town and I throughly enjoyed myself. I had to pay for a membership, which was only $20. The service was great and I loved the live band. I got the HBCU homecoming vibe.
I booked an event and worked with management to get my friends together for a salsa social. We arrive and the owner Clyde canceled our plans on the spot. We didnt even ask anything from the restaurant we are completely independent. This is terrible from a business standpoint.
Fantastic place to grab a drink and listen to good music. Had a blast. And 33 Mains vegan burger has made me a believer! Will be back soon... and often!
I’m being really generous leaving two stars but I will say that is because of a save by abi. Long story short our group got to 1501 at 12 and they close early at 1. I immediately went to the bar where I proceeded to get ignored by the bartender, Ceda, for 50 straight minutes. I understand being busy but to look someone in their face, notice they are standing there (after ignoring the left side of the bar for forever), then just to tend to some people that came up that she knew and continue to repeat this process almost as if it wasn’t a game the more she saw the frustration was very disrespectful. So bad to the point that the people the cut the line that she skipped and help literally told her her has been standing here for forever as she proceeded to look and roll her eyes and continue as she was (in which they apologized for). At 12:50 I moved to the opposite side of the bar where I ended up meeting and being helped by Abi who had me 2 drink in 5 mins and ability to listen to my frustration and empathize and maintain her cool and deliver a smile on our face is literally the only reason two stars are given, otherwise if I could leave a negative star review I would. A I deserved 5 stars but the rest of the experience was complete trash, probably bc I didn’t experience the spot at all with 5 mins to spare before we had to leave
It’s a 2 for me…….for now. The place is nice and the ambiance is cool. However it seems as if they were not expecting the growth and popularity so fast that it’s overwhelming for them. AND NOT TO MENTION THE BARTENDER THIEVES!!! I bought a drink and left a tip but the tip was changed to a higher one when I checked my account. You can’t play a player nor can you run game on who created the GAME PROCEED WITH CASH ONLY 😡 NOT SURE IF ILL RETURN???
Positively INCREDIBLE food, with man-sized portions and out of this world seasoning that does not overpower the seafood. Thanks!
Paid almost 500 for an alleged DJ Kool event that was supposed to start at 8 pm. Its 10:02 and no one is in site. Promoters and management at 1501 South have been very unresponsive. I try to support black businesses, but this is a prime example why you cant. Totally unprofessional and a waste of money. Please dont ever use eventbrite.com or anything associated with this establishment!
We got there upon opening and they wasn’t ready for us but we did get a cocktail which took us a minute to get. The hookah was nice.
All I can say. OMG!!!! 💯👍🏾👌🏿🤩. THE FRESHNESS AND NEW CLUB BAR THEME THAT HAS BEEN WAITING FOR A LONG TIME IN CHARLOTTE WELL DONE. THE WAITERS WERE COURTEOUS THE BAR STAFF WERE ON POINT WITH PREPARING ANY TYPE OF DRINK THAT YOU WANTED THAT JUST YOUR BASIC MARTINIS LIKE BUT MIXOLOGIST. LOVED IT GREAT EXPERIENCE GREAT TIME
Keep holding up the wall NC ppl that’s what they want I would not recommend this bar 1:20am it was dry in the bar and i went to go request a song and the bouncer came up to me and told me I needed to calm dwn where tf they do that at never would go back so disappointing not from here
1501 Great Great Energy I want to thank them for such great hospitality, I would recommend this place for just hanging out or partying!!!
Was here for a party for WSSU homecoming. Great indoor/outdoor space. Good drinks and the DJ was good. Parking was a mess, but it was homecoming so I didn’t mind.
CBD sangrias and amazing atmosphere!!! I LOVE hanging out here, it’s an amazing place to meet up with friends. They even have trivia nights which are so much fun!! Highly recommend you check it out, you’ll be glad you did.
This place charged $20 for a membership on top of the cost for food and drinks. By time we got to order our food they were almost out of food. They only had jerk chicken and potato chips. Do not waste your time or money.
Update 1/31/19: SO much better. Welcoming, kind, social, and very helpful. I don’t know the girls name but she was sweet. I do feel I pre judged she was new when I originally went. Definitely updating to 5 stars. Great customer service and knowledgeable on their CBD products.
This was a fun experience as we went with a friend and her dog. Its like common market with more dogs. The wine selection was outstanding. We will be back all fall with the cooler days.
I must dont go out enough because 58.0 for 3 shots of tequila blew my mind. We had to go to the bar outside because the inside bartender never acknowledged us
Nice venue but the drinks are way too expensive! $36 for double shot of Hennessey and a Corona....smh And the DJ was so so. He barely played any new songs.
Nice atmosphere, maybe that was because it was a Kappa event. It took a minute before I got my drink, (ginger ale) I wanted a ginger beer which they didnt have. Still I will return in the near future
Cool. Bartenders only know basic drinks. Dont ask for anything complex. Cool spot tho. Food trucks. Live music. DJ hard to hear in some places outside.
One of our favorite places in Charlotte. LOVE the fenced in area for the doggos to roam. We try to go a few times a month. They even have their own CBD line which makes it even cooler!
Very pleasant experience today. I am in love with this place. I was very impressed with the food selection and the variety of drinks...About that food.... DEEEE-LICIOUS! Looking forward to plenty of return trips!!Definitely 5 Stars!!!
A more low key place to drink and let your dog play. There were not 1,000 dogs going nuts and annoying bad owners letting them run wild here like there is at other similar joints. Will be back.
First time going I love it definitely a Sunday afternoon vibe for me. What I dislike was that it was really hot inside and outside. More fans please.
Nice location and Cigar lounge. The staff was great!! The food is limited and overpriced, however the drinks are great. Sadly, there is no ventilation
Horrible place! Online say they open at 12pm on Sunday I got there at 3 and still not open! Had to wait in line for 45 min and still didnt get in! What restaurant charges 20 Admission to just get in. The Staff was very unorganized and no clue what they was doing! They act like the customers owe them something and that is clearly not the case!! I will never come back here or recommend this place to anyone!!
Great experience, the vibe is grown and relaxed. I love the fact that it has an option to be outside with tent covers for shade. I will definitely be going back.
Awesome Place to relax and chill with friends, the food truck very nice and tasty. That was my first time and will go back. Truly recommend it to ppl.
Great little spot in South End with a wide variety of wine, beer, and other speciality items. Tacos were phenomenal, I will definitely be coming here more often!!
Love the food from the food truck 33rd and Main. The Seafood burger is king. Get you one!!!
Excellent ambiance. The vibe is truly adult Nubian contemporary. Its a must that you enjoy and share Nubian income in this excellent elite establishment.
My drink by Monica was great. Our Hookah was not great. On to the food
Chill vibe. Crowd hit or miss. One bartender was rude about me mistakenly placing my drink on a menu. Extra smh🙄
Good wine/beer selection. Nice outdoor patio, dog and family friendly. However, not a good non alcohol beverage selection and no real food.
Nice vibe but waited at the bar way too long! Went on a Sunday after 6. Ill try it again for brunch time.
Closes at 11 which is too early, you cant purchase a hookah after 10:30 which is really stupid. The place has a lot of potential but they need switch up A LOT of things.
No where to SIT!!! unless u pay a couple hundred dollars...everything reserved and if YOU sit for a minute they come over and tell u to get up..was there for 2 hrs Noone ever sat where they told me to get up from..I understand reserving tables and chairs but does it have to be EVERY TABLE AND EVERY CHAIR...THEY FOCUS ON BEING A MEMBER AND YES ITS GREAT TO GET IN FREE BUT IF I GET FOOD..WOULD BE GREAT TO BE ABLE TO SIT DOWN AND ENJOY IT
Very quaint atmosphere. We were able to have an intimate experience while adhering to physical distancing guidelines. Staff was very professional and personal.
Drinks okay, overpriced imo.Parking is unclear and I ended up having my car towed.
Same name different place...make sure you go and support this is a black owned business and theyre all locals not some outsiders just buying property/businesses up to profit from it. Make sure you ask for Justin, hes the man with all the info and answers regarding all their alcoholic options.
Need areas to sit for free. To many tables but you have to pay to sit down. Not pay $150+ to sit. Otherwise, its a good vibe.
Chef Ronnie and Chef kraig Graves menu is the best.If your looking for that wonderful taste that represents the city....well that place is 1501 s. Mint
Music was good, atmosphere was awesome, drinks a little expensive, overall great night!!
It a chill spot. It would be nice to have some activity, cards, adult games etc. The guy at the food truck sucks and the food is priced too high
The Best atmosphere in Charlotte! And their Vegan Food is Amazing!!!
Really nice place ,first time going the staff really go all out to make everyone feel welcome and the atmosphere is unbelievable
Beautiful outside patio, great environment, awesome experience, the crowd was very mature and laid back. Great energy
Atmosphere was great, customer service was awesome. Limited seating with tables to eat great lamb chops.
Seafood bomb ••• is the best. Gives me a little taste of Maryland in NC!
Cool vibes. Attentive staff. That salmon philly was AIGHT!
Cool bottle shop! Not sure Id really consider it a grocery store, but it is definitely a great date spot or spot to hang out with friends!
I was finally able to get in and enjoyed the lambchops!! Cant wait to see what brunch has to offer!!
They do not sell food but there are food trucks on site
Great first time visit. Definitely going back again! The salmon bites were amazing!
Great place with or without pets. Great outdoor space. Good drink variety. Will definitely be back.
Such a vibe!!! But theres a $20 membership fee so be prepared. Its good for a year so get your moneys worth!
We love popping over for a yummy glass of wine or local craft beer! They always have something fun going on there too!
The spot was classy, there was NO wait time, the service was Superb and the food was quick and Delicious!! We will be back again!!

Its a chill place, with good music and great atmosphere
Good play area for the dogs... not quite sure how long they will get away with $10 drafts....
Great outdoor space, no frill yummy tacos, great local beer selection and super friendly service.
Very relaxing great drinks, great service, great atmosphere!
Drinks were wayyyyy over priced. Good vibe and the dj was decent.
Very elegant and classy and the food was great! Not to mention the drinks
Outdoor scenery is cool...Id return on an ole school hip hop night
Nice place and the service was really good. Luv the outdoor fire pits!
Yo...gr8 spot. Indoors and outdoors. Chef Miles is on point with them tacos 🌮 👌 😋 🙌 👏
The lamb chop Dish was DELICIOUS.... Would definitely do again and the customer services was GREAT
Great experience... great place for socializing...open space in front and back 👍
Love this place, only wish they would play more down south music instead of up North.
Super cute place with great staff and good small plates.
The food is what keeps me coming back!! Best server is Brittany hands down.
Low key neighborhood stop with some good drafts, wine and beer, relaxing patio, and tons of CBD products including CBD shots.
Need better Djs we need more classic South music... lil john etc....
Its an amazing place to just chill eat and have a great time
Great drinks and atmosphere. Dope spot and black owned!
Football Sunday and they are out of everything. A bit overpriced also. Nice store with potential. Stock up!
Nice atmosphere, outdoor ambience. Food on Site. Indoor and outdoor bar.
Absolutely great ambience, vibes, and energy!! Black owned and friendly service!!
Great Atmosphere and vibe. I appreciated that they really practice social distancing.
It’s got a cute ambiance. The tacos were eh and the drinks were overpriced.
Nobody answers the phone i called back to back for over an hour and never got an answer they say leave a message but nobody calls back .
A complete and total vibe. Basking in beautiful, Black magic that I haven’t seen too much here in CLT.
This place used to be cool. Now it feels like they are price gouging.
Very nice place to have a good time meet good people and hear good music🎼🎼🎼
I love the atmosphere and music definitely my new to go place
First time going, we had an excellent experience. Well definitely be back.

This place is a rip off. The scenery is cute but the prices are ridiculous
Cool spot. I hope they have fans with misters to keep people cool during the summer months.
