I went to Massage Envy Denton to get a gift card. Asked the receptionist how much was a massage and she said $80. After she charged $80 to my account, I saw the special ($100 plus $20 voucher.) I asked to change to the special and she said it was not possible. I asked for a refund. I asked for her name and she would not give it to me. I asked for the manager and she said no. Rude behavior is not okay.
I had a 60 minute massage today and left feeling refreshed and ready to start my day. The receptionist (Brittany) greeted me when I walked in and was very friendly! She gave me a glass of water while I waited - very briefly. Lui was my massage therapist today and he was wonderful! I’m so glad I gave this location a chance. I will definitely be back.
I came in here yesterday and talked to a VERY helpful girl. She was excellent, very kind and knowledgeable, if I had just experienced her I would be giving 5 stars. However, I had to call this morning (HOURS) before my appointment to cancel due an emergency, and the girl that answered the phone told me she was going to charge me 50% of the service because there is a “cancellation fee” within 24 hours of your appointment. I had made my appointment within 24 hours of my appointment, and had been only told about the fees if you miss your appointment without notice. They are not clear with their fees and are trying to scam you. She did wave the fee but was acting as if she was doing me a favor. I told her to delete me account. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
Therapist was late arriving. Was told it wouldnt come out of my time, but it did. Then was told since my membership was started in Arlington I would now have to pay an extra 15.00 each appointment on top of my membership. Oh, and on another occasion I made an appointment drove an hour to get there and was told they cancelled but I never received a notification. The absolute worst Message Envy ever and I have been a customer almost 10 years
The receptionist says but I can rebook you! That, after me showing up for a 4pm appointment I booked two days ago online and was just told the therapist called in sick this morning. The receptionist curtly told me we called everyone and left a message, but no phone call or message for me. Then she tells me that sometimes the online appointments dont even get booked which, when I asked about mine, she shrugs it off. Not a good first impression, between the sour receptionist and the circumstances. I understand therapists get sick, but they had plenty of time to notify me...and if they know their online booking is a problem, why are they taking bookings online? At least an apology was in order for the inconvenience. I wasted almost an hour between prep time and drive time. No, I dont want to rebook here....plenty of other locations places to get a massage.
Terrible management/ownership. I book prenatal massages, I’m 20 weeks pregnant. They messed up my appointment and tried to say it was on me because I didn’t remind them? I booked it as prenatal, management is extremely rude and unprofessional. Would give zero stars if I could!I also saw that many of the VARIOUS OTHER one star reviews were provided a link by management, which I completed. The same management that I had a problem with just called me after completion, which was another joke in itself. I am so embarrassed for this location and will be using my membership in other locations if possible. Management said that it might be hard for me to find another specialized prenatal massage therapist somewhere else. Again, so embarrassed for the ownership of this location.
I’ve been here several times and had a wonderful experience until today. I came in for my appointment and waited in line. When i got to the front of the line, the “assistant manager”, Katy thought it was okay to Dismiss me and help the the customer that was just walking though the door. Her reason being is bc i had paper work to fill out. I tried to explain to her that, that was not true, I had been there several times before- hell I’m even a member. She went on with helping the other customer while leaving me talking to myself. It was very disrespectful and rude! Then when she finally comes back to help me she says i didn’t have paper work to fill out. Never apologized for being rude or wrong. She definitely does not need to be working the front. Someone with a little more experience and customer service. I want to move my membership to the Corinth location. Very dissatisfied!Update: The business manager, Barbra Wilson did nothing to resolve or acknowledge the problem. Waste of time even talking to her! Be smart and don’t waste your time or money here! The manager canceled my membership! She acts worse than the front desk employees- very dismissive and arrogant. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!
Apparently massage envy is all about the money. Over the past year, of all the massages I have received at this location and corinth only one was good. It is a complete waste of money. If you try to cancel they give a bunch of other options like freezing your account. But they only give you half of the information about how that works and tell you the other half later. Then if you ask about it all they tell you is oh, Im so sorry although they really arent and nothing changes. I dont understand what happened to customer service but all these young people with no respect or manners need to get it together and learn how to be respectful.
The staff did not adequately explain about auto charges on my Im 4y credit card after I bought a package for $350.00. Now they refuse to do thatrefund any money. Their facial services were disgusting and they did not address the poor service. I am now stuck wit $130.00 in charges that I will not use because of their unprofessional actions.,
My wife made my first appointment at Message Envy for the day of the start of our vacation (28th). It was a 5 hour drive to our cruise ship headed to Mexico and I had some shoulder tightness and pain as well as lower middle back. Christina was able to find my problem area immediately even with my vague description of where I was having trouble. She could feel it in the muscles and found the source and worked out 90% of it before (she only had an hour to work with) my trip. It helped me make the drive, enjoy my vacation, and make the drive back.My only complaint if you want to call it that, is when I arrived back from my trip I called the morning after I got back to book a 90 minute session with her and I was told she could not see me till the 31st (Its the 5th today) by a very monotone female at 8 am. Maybe she was not awake yet, but I was very surprised by her lack of lack of personality and character.Thats great for Christina but not so much for me. Not really sure what to do now. I really need to get finished what Christina started. Cant really give a bad review for that, but is still very frustrating. Ive been having firm to deep massages for many years and she was the first to actually give the best results.I am here to give Christina an awesome review, not impressed with the other staff so much at this time with my first interaction with trying to book an appointment myself. The person on the phone made me not want to try another staff member (or did she offer) to get me through the pain till Christina is available. So sadly I am going to look somewhere else for now.
I called and scheduled a facial appt for same day and asked if it was a problem for yesterdays makeup and was told no she will clean it off. My thoughts were great I get to leave with a clean fresh face. Well that is where the great thoughts stopped. As I went in I was told to sit in a room and wait. Someone finally came and said I need to do the questionnaire. I was doing that and said well I dont really need anything like a treatment plan. She said oh ok you can just skip through. Um.....ok so I did what she said and skipped to the end and signed the waiver. Not once have I been asked what type of facial how long of a facial. I WASNT EVEN TOLD THE PRICE!!!!! Fast forward facial itself that I did end up getting was ok. Again NO ONE explained to me what I was getting. I finally asked during the facial what it entailed. I get finished pay my $90 BILL!!!! I was needless to say SHOCKED at the price. Well after I leave I check my face out in the light. They dont show you in a full lit room so you can ACTUALLY see. I STILL HAD MAKEUP on my face!!! Now im not sure how any of the products she used got to my actual skin if there was still makeup. So I decided to call and talk to a manager.....apparently because I did the entire hour she cant refund my money. WHAT DO YOU MEAN of course I did the hour. Was I supposed to get up in the middle????? She said well we can give you another facial for the same price you paid today(intro price)instead of the regular price. Um....NO why would i go back or tell anyone bout this place. The MANAGEMENT WAS HORRIBLE in handling this. It apparently was MY FAULT!!!!! What ???They offered to do NOTHING ELSE to try and rectify the pro lem. Little did they know had they told me or offered me the add-ons and Extras I would have spent way more money in their Spa. Wont ever go back to this place or recommend it.
I canceled contract with them over 3 months ago. They continue to charge me. I just finally realized it so I blocked them. I try to call them but they dont seem to care.
Had a great experience. They were able to see me on short notice and the massage was really good - not too light but not brutal. She checked in with me about pressure and was friendly without going overboard. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
If you looking for a reliable message don’t go. I love the way they cancel a message with less than a hour notice.
Very disappointed. They dont cancel your membership when you fill in the papers. And next month, they still charge you for the monthly payment.
If I could give a zero star, I would. I have been a member of Massage Envy since 2009. I have never had an experience like I did tonight. It’s Valentines Day. I booked a couples massage three weeks in advance. I think made dinner reservations at a local steakhouse at 6:30 pm. I had a wallabdarned and my husband had a beer with our meal. Our massages were scheduled for 9 pm. We get back to the room, get undressed, excited for the massage and time to relax together. The massage therapist for my husband then made casual conversation and asked what we had done so far for Valentine’s Day. I said we had dinner. She then nonchalantly asked if we had drinks. I said we just had one each with dinner. She immediately said that they cannot massage us, it was against State law and they could lose their licenses. I HAVE NEVER EVER IN 11 years of receiving massages at Massage Envy or anywhere else for that matter been asked if I had a drink, much less with dinner before a massage. I have been to spas where they serve wine and got a massage.When we get dressed and go to the front, she wasn’t even at our door. They said that it would be in my contract and they have the right to refuse service to anyone as a Therapist. They told us we could look it up on line. That made my husband upset because, first of all, if it’s your rule it SHOULD BE POSTED. I am not a liar, but I sure will tell them no or it’s none of their business. My husband and I both felt like she asked leading questions and did it on purpose.It was embarrassing, frustrating, unprofessional, and uncalled for. I could understand if we were intoxicated, but we are responsible professionals.They ruined my Valentine’s Day gift to my husband. I am so upset that they might just lose a customer of 11 years. Thanks Massage Envy Denton for making this Valentine’s Day memorable for all the wrong reasons.
I scheduled an appointment a few days ago on the phone. Received a text and email to confirm. Mind you my appointment was at 1 PM (They had all morning to call me and let me know) and when I arrived they told me that Julie was not available and so I could not be seen today. (Didn’t even try to accommodate me or find something sooner . So I made a long drive to this location for me not to be seen. This is very unprofessional! I will NOT be returning!!
This service has helped me tremendously over the past few months. Has made my long hours and physically demanding work much easier with just a visit every other week. They have many options to add to the massage allowing you to really pick your experience for your needs. They have levels of pressure for you to choose from depending on what you need for your specific needs.
I was a 1st time customer, accidentally booked at the Denton location vs the Denton Tap location. I showed up for the appt on time at the Denton Tap location and the mistake was recognized. I called Denton location to let them know what happened and the staff nor the manager they would not accommodate me and charged me 50% of my service for a honest mistake. As a Nurse Practitioner, I go beyond the call of duty for people on a daily basis and to receive this type of customer service and consideration I was highly disappointed. All I wanted was a massage to destress from a long week of work/service and this was the outcome. I would not recommend this location.
Honestly the worst massage I’ve ever gotten. I told the girl Pippa I was having some pain in my shoulder but I wanted a full body massage. She seriously did not even TOUCH the backs of my legs or my feet, glutes, or lower back. I did ask for light pressure but I didn’t realize that meant light effort as she never truly massaged my hands or arms either. Just kinda ran her fingers over them for less than 5 seconds. Even when she did the front of my legs she never got above my knee. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the girls at the front desk were so helpful and amazing!

They confirmed my appointment at 5 twice and then when I arrived they told me it was at six and attended to charge me for it. It took 20 minutes to get ahold of a manager and the employee was so rude. Anybody thinking of going there should just burn there Money place was dirty and there were rude to an elderly man who came in. If I could give zero stars I would and I will be reporting to the better business bureau
I do enjoy going here as often as I can, as I work a rather physically strenuous job and I always seem to have knots.I will say the only slight annoyance I have is the session could use some those leftover minutes.
Terrible management. She was rude to my daughter who quit and I have quit as a result. One of the front desk employees said the manager is the reason they are losing clients.
They lie about being able to cancel the membership and lie about getting a manager to call you back. Deceptive business practices and a shady place overall.
They call and reschedule your appointments frequently. I like to do dual services so rescheduling doesnt work well for that. They have rescheduled me about 50% of the times i have booked. This location needs to improve if they want to keep clients.
I highly recommend getting a massage by Kimberly! She is incredible about focusing on releasing tension when muscles are extremely and unbearably tight. Her professionalism is superb!
