This place is absolutely gorgeous. The vibe is absolutely phenomenal. One of the most beautiful seductive private hotel I have ever been to. It was literally breathtaking. It was a staycation for me and my boyfriend, and to say the least we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the vibe and atmosphere were absolutely impeccable. I highly recommend checking this place out. The spot just beautifully put together completely serene and just impeccably decorated. I can’t say enough good things about it.
If you’re in the Palm Springs area and are searching for a nice private getaway the O Spa is the spot. Multiple heated pools and private mineral spas to soothe the body and relax the mind. They have a nice intimate setting and cozy rooms. Our room had a classic record player with a good variety of music genres. I noticed there weren’t any children running around screaming. Also, my apologies to the people whose room I accidentally walked into.
We had a great time at the o spa, everything was clean and room was ready for us. The pools were warm and clean. Very relaxing stay. Housekeeper Ana really went above and beyond.
UPDATE: refuses to give refund or answer any of our calls. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. And read for safety. This is a complete catfish. The rooms are tiny, furniture is falling apart, there was b lood on the sheets and stains on the wall. Needless to say it leaves little to be desired in terms of cleanliness or anything else. Towels all have brown stains. Comforter had what looked like a b lood stain. Showers have a window without curtains or blinds so strangers can completely see through the window when you shower. No room service, no drinks (not even water!!). There’s not even a phone in the room to call the front desk if you need something. And the number they leave for “management” is unreachable. We tried calling a dozen times about the room and they never answered or called us back. Room code doesn’t work. Rooms have issues locking. Also it’s located in an area that has an 85% higher crime rate than the national average - despite how it’s advertised as a nice hotel in Palm Springs. We ended up leaving and booking a new hotel. Just spend the extra $$$ and go somewhere else. Or stay home if nothing is available.
It was a wonderful experience at the O Spa resort. We had a timely check-in, the rooms were stunning and my partner and I couldn’t get enough of the warm mineral pools. Housekeeper Anna was a fantastic help for us. She was very nice and wasn’t rushy. She was very professional with detailing the rooms and even gave us extra time to check out.
There was no one at the front desk when we checked in last night and we had to make phone calls to get the password of the front door. We understood the situation because it was late at night. However, on the second day in the morning there was still no one in the lobby. Unfortunately, the switch that opens the shampoo and body wash boxes were both broken and we realized it in the middle of our showering. Of course, there was no one to help. Not recommended at all especially considering the price we paid for the night.
A Now Open Letter to Rick Rabuck, Owner of The O Spa since you did not have the decency to respond to my email:Hi Rick,I need to follow up about what happened last Sunday evening. It was a difficult situation that I can empathize with [some of the cleaning crew called out so rooms were not ready by 3pm check-in] but the way you handled it was the most disappointing part. I did appreciate the early call that day and the offer for the late check out. That part was handled well. However, your communication once we arrived left much to be desired. I saw other guests arriving confused and also not knowing what was going on. You were not providing any updates to anyone or coming out of your home to speak with guests. Thats all you really had to do was show some hospitality and be available. I called you and you could not provide any updates and did not call me back. We waited around as best we could. We could not go in the pools because we were not offered any towels. It was windy and cold so we tried to start one of the fire rings and a heat lamp but they did not work. We then sat in the lounge but it was dark in there and we could not get most of the lights to work. There was also no toilet paper in the lounge restroom. We were as patient as we could be and even though you did not make yourself available to assist anyone, you were still quite upset about us wanting to at least put some stuff in the room and maybe sit in the living room. You offered us the option for a refund which we eventually took after 630pm having still not received any updates or a timeline of how much longer it would take. As we left we noticed the main door handle was hanging off and the door was ajar. Not safe or secure! It was only after I told you we were leaving and you were going to lose the booking that you suddenly called and had an update for me. It was too late by then. You need to put your customers first, not their money. Again, what I want to emphasize is that a little more effort, accessibility, and communication on your part would have made this situation so much better. To top it off, you did not respond to this now pubic email or issue me a refund so I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. Real classy Rick. Do everyone a favor and get out of the hospitality business.Sincerely,Brett
The property is definitely older but decently kept. The mattress in my room needs to be replaced. The pool and hot tub were great being 24hrs. The lower garden mineral pool wasnt cleaned but maybe its because its the off season? I loved the lobby lounge and kitchen being accessible even though I did not use it. The little dogs on the property were friendly and a nice surprise! There was barely any staff on site but they came when called (when you can get a hold of them). The wonderful housekeepers were sweet ladies! Would definitely come again! Thanks again!
The outside had me a bit concerned, but once you entered through the secured doors, its nice and serene. The rooms were very nice, I just wished I had a microwave in the room. Also, be sure to request a shower if thats what you prefer. The outdoor shared amenities can be updated. But overall I had a relaxing weekend there.
Relaxing place to rejuvenate. Three pools with different temperatures. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean. Amazing view of the mountains too. Great place to get away from it all.
I recently stayed at The O Spa Resort and had a mixed experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the fantastic pool, and after a long journey, I thoroughly enjoyed the warm mineral water. The overall decor is aesthetically pleasing. However, my room came with an unexpected disco ball (the reason for this choice eluded me). Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness standards. A deceased cockroach was found on the coffee table tray with the cups. The bathroom appeared rather dirty and peeling. Soap stains on the taps hinted that the previous occupants might have left the cleaning to future guests. The carpet was sandy, and a vacuum seemed to be a stranger.Despite these setbacks, I must emphasize that the style and tranquility of the place delighted me. I might consider staying there again, provided they address the cleanliness issues, especially the unexpected company of cockroaches.Best regards,Anastasia
Title: perfect experienceRating: ★★★★★I recently had the pleasure of staying at this spa hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The overall ambiance of the hotel was serene and calming, setting the perfect tone for a truly rejuvenating experience.Overall, my experience at this spa hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. It provided the perfect balance of relaxation. Whether youre seeking a peaceful getaway, a romantic escape, or simply a place to unwind and recharge, this spa hotel is an absolute gem. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a great experience.
Stayed here last night. This was not a great hotel and we will not be back. The hot pool was really nice but other than that the room and check in sucked.ROACHES IS THE BATHROOM and no towels in the bathroom. You could hardly plug the coffee maker in and to boot our TV didn’t work. Called the number guy said he wasn’t here and there was nothing he could do.If this was a 40$ per night motel room, I could understand but at almost 200$ a night this was basically highway robbery. DO NOT BOOK Your ROOM HERE!
This place is a disaster! The manager is rude. The neighborhood is awful and there are no decent restaurants for miles. No amenities whatsoever. Room was filthy, as was the lobby. You can do much better than this for the money. The photo with the door - the back of our room. The parking lot shows how many guests were there...on a Friday.
The staff Anna and Brenda are Great and personable very kind and hospitableAs well as professionalI got a massage from MartaShes incredibly Good shes experiencedRick was also helpful and KindThank you all So muchTheirs a hidden pool in the back behind the LobbyPools temps are Great🌈🫂🕊
Spent 4 night in December. Rented a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit for $500/night. Only 1 bathroom had water. Was told would get fixed and never did. Then had a family with 3 children there at an adults only advertised hotel. Was told would get a 2 days credit. Owner has ghosted me since making that comment.
We went in March, so the weather is nice that we didnt need to worry about AC/heating problems that some people are concerned in the reviews. There are shampoo dispenser on the wall like how it is in the gym, but shampoo and body wash were empty, it was disappointing that it wasnt filled when the room was being cleaned. The bedroom is themed, and we are very happy with the decor, but the overall room size is small. It feels like a dorm room, but its already more affordable than any options in palm springs, so we chose this place for the budget. Its only 20-30 minutes from palm spring, so its a nice alternative option.
This was a completely random pick, after driving through Joshua Tree via Berdoo Canyon rd.The outside looked different than expected (kind of like Tulum condos look like nothing from the outside...yah we went there this year, it sucked). The fact that it sits in residential block was a bit weird, but inside was much different. It was 108 degree this day, and somehow the main pool was even warmer. And the hot tub even more so. But, the mineral one on the lower area was perfect for the day. This was almost a diy / self serve experience. The received e-mail after booking, was extensive and covered all the necessities. We were allowed to use the pool early before the check in time, which made for a great day.The dog gang was funny too, very friendly, dont let them in your room, they like the ac, they wont want to leave!Fun communal aspect to the place, as you just wind up mingling with the other guest at night.Super surprise, felt like another country, was a great stay. Highly recommend.
Stayed for a daybed cabana and did some outdoor grill cooking. Really amazing place to relax and hang out.Full kitchen with ability to cook.Small changing room so even if you dont have a room for the day can change.Pool Temps are great and there are several pools to go to.Staff is amazing and helpful.
This is was an amazing place. Each pool is different one has cabanas to relax and enjoy next to while another has a spout pouring into it constantly providing wonderful calming sounds. Rick and Indigo were wonderful as host they have dogs on property that do follow them to greet guest. They stay on top of any puppy messes which is really nice. The last few puppy friendly places were not so people friendly. So it was great that this place took care of their dogs too. Between the cozy rooms, the views, the relaxing waters and puppy therapy. They also have Massages and spa treatments I have not tried yet but will next time. This is a must go to. A side note this is a this is they are in the middle of a remodel and making it look it better than it does already and their garden is still young and still amazing. The statues of people are a bit creepy. Still a great place to enjoy and relax in themed rooms are fun lovely garden.
Fantastically styled renovation of an old motel, converted to a hip, retro-modern spa with hot mineral baths. The property was in great condition and clean and beautifully appointed. The pools and jacuzzi are fed from the hot mineral springs and feel amazing. The room was nicely appointed and clean and comfortable. Rick the owner was present and very helpful and lit an individual fire pit for my girlfriend and me. Great relaxing environment and will definitely return.
I came out for a solo momma get away. When I arrived I was the only guest. Having the property to myself, even with the wind, was so serene.I was met by one of the owners upon arrival who gave me a walking tour of the grounds and upgraded my room. The mineral pool and hot tub are perfectly accessorized to create a place you don’t want to leave. Blankets with coffee and a book on the many lounge areas strategically placed to create an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation, seemed to be a morning choice.I wish I had longer. I would love to come back and take a bounce on the trampoline and do yoga in the pavilion where all items needed to start or end your day with movement are located.Thank you all for making me feel comfortable and allowing me to roam free without my kiddos!
Not a fan of the upgraded motel feel. The lights at night in the pools are neat and the hot pools felt nice. However, if the air conditioning was better and tv/bed didn’t feel like it was on the floor I would have given it a 3 star. Also the refrigerator in the room was unbalanced and felt like the items on top might fall off. Unfortunately, upon grilling one of the grills was empty on propane and the other one died while we were cooking. In addition, a random screw was loose in the white outdoor tube. Overall, it has a cute artist touch to the outdoor decor/paintings but I am personally used to higher class rooms and big resorts. The puppies they let out are adorable but the owner needs to clean up the poop early before guest wake up. Hope this helps others make an educated decision on booking and also give the owners a chance to fix the maintenance issues. Overall, my partner and I felt it was an overpriced stay for our taste.
Rick is a great owner and knows how to create a peaceful oasis. From the great mineral pools, views that are breathtaking, and vibe that is soothing, this resort exceeded my expectations. On top of all that, Rick is attentive and his staff is superb. The music was great and perfect loudness to not promote crazy partying but enough to help you enjoy your time. The little extras make a big difference. Access to a full kitchen, themed rooms, dog friendly, made this stay a great weekend to rejuvenate the soul. Will be staying here again and again.
The No Spa. The staff were sweet but I wasnt comfortable. The price was inflated for NY and while I understand that it was not worth it for me.No shampoos or anything in bathroom ..dispensers looked new and lovely but thank goodness I had my own. room Not ready 4pm so my lunch in lounge kitchen- I had kitchen in room??? so I wasnt happy about that. No TV. for cost I was disappointed. Smells of wet dog all night. Rick didnt charge for cancelling massage and Cabana when it was a terrible experience over priced. Still sweet staff. Worth day pass not overnight
The O Spa is super chill, relaxing, and easy. I went midweek and it was empty aside from one other couple. I was able to work from the pool deck and not be disrupted or bothered, so it was perfect for me. Strong Wifi, nice kitchen, plenty of deckchairs, and grounds space. The room was clean and tidy but us being in the middle of COVID, I did my own once-over cleaning with my own supplies to make myself more comfortable (since I havent stayed in a hotel since before lockdown).Rick is friendly, lovely, and made us feel very comfortable. The vibe here is mellow, inclusive, and unpretentious, so if you are expecting Miraval or Canyon Ranch, go there instead.
I had a great time at the O spa!! I stayed in the David Bowie room. The decor was stunning and the mineral water pools and spas were so clean, soothing, natural, energizing, healing and earthy. You can tell it is real local hot natural mineral water. Everything was very clean. Good customer service too!I dont think it is worth the claimed full total price of $400 a night or so but definitely worth it when it is discounted down to a total of like $200 or so that you can fairly easily find online (dont forget to add the $35 resort fee that you pay on top of the booking price).I am looking forward to go again!
This place is the best! Rick and his staff do an incredible job making this property a much-needed escape. The vibe is chill, welcoming and just plain fun! The grounds and pools are stunning, and the hot pool is really hot! I appreciated all the designer touches both in the rooms and on the grounds. The kitchen is a nice addition. The coffee is good and the towels are fluffy. Plus there are puppies! Ill definitely be back. Keep up the good work. Excellent value.
What a lovely experience! My fiance and I had a chance to reconnect at the O Spa... and I couldnt be happier. The rooms are very comfortable and are clean, with modern accommodations and style. The pool area is tastefully decorated and boasts a large swimming pool (heated to 96F,) a Jacuzzi tub (heated to 104) and a large soaking area at the back of the property (95F). The resort had free wifi and smart tvs. We had an amazing massage on the property - the therapists were recommended by the resort. Would definitely stay here again!
Good location- a little on the outskirts but short drive to Palm Springs, Palm Desert. Pool area was nice. Rooms werent terribly impressive- typical motel style rooms- but not bad. There happened to be a large group of students staying there the nights that we were there. With the layout, it was pretty noisy. There was tons of trash, empty liquor bottles, etc everywhere the next morning but it was cleaned up pretty well. We also didnt really feel like hanging out with them at the pool since we were looking for a relaxing trip. Ended up checking out 2 nights early. Owner didnt seem too concerned about it. Refund was out of the question. Oh well.
PROS: the pool area is quite nice and they are dog friendly.CONS: the rooms are just not good. Our AC was dripping and when we got back the whole floor had flooded. Very little privacy and anyone can hear you cough in your room. everuthing was cheap quality. Not even a toilet paper dispenser. Not a single shelf in the bathroom so all toiletries must be put on the floor. Only mirror is in bathroom over sink, but nothing to check your outfit before leaving. They have 2 pools, jacuzzi, multiple bathtubs outside but no water areas for dogs to cool off even though theyre dog friendly.- Overall it doesnt feel like a real hotel or business. The numbers you call is a guys cell phone number and it feels like an Airbnb that theyre trying to run. We were there for a Saturday night which advertised dance parties at night. There wasnt a single person there and yet they had EDM music playing all night long and never turned off. But the biggest disappointment was the room. It felt like a sleepy motel. My boyfriend and I wanted to have a romantic time in our room away from roommates at home and instead we felt restrained again that anyone could hear us.
Charming ambiance. Lots of cool and comfy spots to hang out in outdoors. Rooms are minimalist but very clean and comfortable. Nice place to get away to!
This place is truly an Oasis! This place is Super LAID BACK! I visited in January, and got engaged in the hot tub here :-) (We came from Detroit)There are 360* views and the property is very private and romantic. We truly enjoyed 24 hour access to the mineral hot tub and mineral pool area (That are all at a perfect temp even if its 50* out). They have this place set up so perfectly with plenty of lounging spots throughout the resort, and a fire pit area. The community kitchen was great and a large space to hang out, and if needed any of your essentials were found here. The rooms were cute, and from my understanding all of the rooms are different. But they are all updated, clean and cozy...The owner was super friendly and helpful, and even hung out with the guests. If youre looking for a romantic getaway or just a day by the pool, this is the place to be! Also, did I mention its CANNABIS friendly, they even have cannabis delivery!
This place is clean, comfortable, cute, and very chill. We stayed a few nights mid-week and only saw a handful of other people. Loved the communal kitchen, many hot springs soaking options, tastefully decorated room, and outdoor seating area with views of blue skies and snowcapped mountains. We weren’t sure what to expect when we booked our stay here, but we were delighted by everything and would very much enjoy coming here again.
The boutique style property is unique in the sense that it has 3 mineral water pools. Rick, the owner is the coolest guy I met in a long time. He really takes care of his customers. Super pet friendly. Music in the area makes it even more relaxing. Rooms could be larger, but no complaints. Cleanliness and hospitality is unparalleled. I would go here again in a heart beat.
Second time visiting this fabulous place was as good if not better than the first. Less folks staying on a Tuesday made it seem even more luxurious! The freedom to enjoy the sun European style. My skin is radiant after soaking in the mineral water. Thank you Rick, Indigo and five fur babies for a refreshing getaway.
Owner greeted us , along with the resort dog. We were given a friendly tour and we settled in.The room was immaculate, bright and mid century modern. We soaked in the main pool, as well as the soaking large tub in one of the cute hidden gardens. At night, the music, pinks lights added a mystical feel to the property. We sipped wine, pet the resort dog and chatted with other guests. We will be back!
Great place to relax and unwind. The vibe is very mellow. The guest and staff are nice and respectful of one another. I like that your allowed to bring your small dog.I went for my bachelorette party and I had so much fun. I also got a massage which was very relaxing. The massage therapist was very attentive and had safety protocols in place. She wore her mask the entire time, the room was clean and sanitized. The rooms are super cute and clean, there are fresh clean towels and the rooms have AC and they work very well. Im looking forward to going back soon.
If you are into music, untimed hot spring access, diversity, a well kept shared kitchen, fire pits, yoga area, a place that truly welcomes everyone and shared ideas this is your place. I would look into the more traditional hot spring places around the area if any of this sounds overwhelming…
Funky Fresh oasis in the middle of the desert. If youre expecting a 5 star hotel with staff to wait on you hand and foot this is not the place. This a small mom and pop establishment thats more about relaxed vibes and going with the flow. We went out for my buddies 30th bday and had a great time. We showed up before check in and confirmed with the management it was ok. Our rooms werent ready as we were early but they checked us in and got us setup so we could go ahead and use the pools. They have a public restroom and kitchen area so we were able to change without having our rooms ready yet. They were cool with us having a cooler in our room with our own drinks and were fine with having our own alcohol by the pool. Theyre also 420 friendly so if you partake then have it. Looks like theyre updating some of the rooms as we had reserved 3 rooms in total and our friends rooms were quite a bit nicer then ours. It was ok though as we were mostly there to be outside and enjoy the pools. Our room had working AC and a shower so that was all we really cared about. The owners were on site pretty much all of the time so if we had questions we just went to their office and asked them. Oh and the owners dog had puppies so there were a bunch of fun little pups running around. Puppies and pools? What more could you ask for. Overall nice pool resort experience where you dont get gouged by being forced to order drinks from the hotel.
Absolutely LOVED this place! On a weekend of winter temps & even snow, there was no better place to be than in the hot mineral waters! I can’t even tell you how many times I uttered “This is the life”. This place is amazing & has everything. I wish we could have stayed longer. And I will be dreaming of the day we get to return!
Awesome vibes here, well-appointed, tons of space and various features for all to enjoy - whether its going for a swim in one of their two pools, relaxing in their massive hot tub, chilling in two of their cold water tubs, playing bocce, reading a book by their outdoor living room setups or dancing to their occasional DJ parties - this place will not disappoint. The rooms / suites are even cooler, tailored and decorated, each with a particular theme or person, from a Dr. Dre suite to the Lady Gaga suite I got, everything is updated and well kept. Rick was very accommodating when the stay needed to be extended an additional day which was appreciated. Mini oasis in the desert.
I absolutely loved staying here! Was perfect for my dog and I and I love that the pools are open 24 hrs. I’m already plotting my next visit! Thank you so much ☺️
The place was beautiful, especially at night with the lighting. The pools were clean and comfortable and the cannabis friendly vibe was appreciated. I loved how each room was themed and that there was a full service kitchen to use. It wasnt very crowded, so it was easy to socially distance ourselves. The highlight of the trip was Lucy, the owners dog, and her puppies! So darling and really just made me fall in love with the place.Im giving it 3 stars though because there were a few things that made our stay, during my birthday weekend, unpleasant. The first is the lack of mask wearing and social distancing from the owners and a few other guests. Even with all the Covid based signage, I did not feel as if they were taking it seriously. Second, the lack of towels and the maid service. I was charged $4 for clean sheets (we requested them) and there seemed to never be enough towels for my boyfriend and I. I also felt like the bedding wasnt very clean (stains on velvet pillows/shams), so I am very happy we brought our own. Next, the room we chose wasnt actually finished! Pictures were missing, the door frame was hanging by a thread, wall sockets werent filled in and there wasnt any place in the bathroom to hang towels or toilet paper. I also had to do some extra cleaning as there was a lot of dust and just icky stuff on the walls and floors. I would advise them to do a deep cleaning between guests. Oh, and the bed was NOT a king sized bed, as noted online. The mattress also had seen better days. Would also like to see pool floaties and lounge chair cushions sanitized, as my boyfriend and I had to use our own lysol and towels to sit down. There were also piles of trash behind a platform area (used for yoga) and the main lounge. Ick! Lastly, the main pool was noisy all night with guests and I dont recall that being mentioned when checking in. I thought the other pools were open 24/7, NOT the one that faces every hotel room.I would love to come back here, but would choose a better room, bring extra sheets, call ahead about the above cleanliness issues and would bring ear plugs!
I had a few questions when we left, but Rick was unavailable so we handed our key to housekeeping.1: the smoke alarms were removed in the kitchen and in the room above the bed. I am not sure it is under fire department ordinances: but please get proper smoke alarms in every area.2. Local TV was not working and We only got ROKU movies, or pay for local TV.3. Details in the suggestive description were that this resort has an open pot smoking environment with ashtrays everywhere. It was evident once we got there and since it was explicit of no refunds. We stuck it out, but if I saw Rick on the property, I would have spoke to him about my issues. Therefore I suggest remove the ashtrays and hand out disposable ashtrays when the pot is sold.4. The microwave did not work and did all cooking in the commons area. I liked that idea, but the other guests did not clean up after themselves and we found old food in the microwave. The good were: the bed was clean and comfy, Great pillows, nice showers and clean bathroom.
The rooms wereokay but the pools are amazing. If you are there for just a place to lay your head, there are better deals, but the pools are some of the best in Desert Hot Springs and the O works as a destination location for those interested in a healing hot springs bath. You could pay double for the equivalent nearby, (and not as good of water IMHO) but with a smaller but more upscale room.I would love to go back.
I once ran this spa. HORRIBLE new owner. TERRIBLE customer service. Pretentious and elitists.
Quirky, 1950s throwback motel with the BEST hot tubs and swimming pool. The pool water is at body temperature. Being in it feels glorious. The 22 person hot tub is at 105 degrees and the outdoor claw foot tub is at 115 degrees. All three bodies of water are being fed by hot springs, whose waters are cooled to the above temperatures. Heavenly to soak in any of the outdoor water choices. Our room was small but had a super comfy bed. Although the motel could use a little loving maintenance, I will definitely look forward to a return stay.
What an amazing oasis away from it all. Come be yourself, free from judgements and social obligations. The waters are so nourishing, you can join the crowd in the pool/jacuzzi or find your own private mineral bath in the personal tubs. Wonderful for couples but also a relaxing time to yourself also.
This resort is the perfect little getaway in the city of Desert Hot Springs, just 20 minutes outside of Palm Springs. The room is just the perfect size for anyone whos coming to relax or spend most of their day at the pool. Desiree responded quickly to all of my last-minute questions and accommodated my request for an earlier check-in than was originally indicated. When we arrived, Rick met us at the front gate to show us the community kitchen and our room. As it was a very hot weekend, we were one of the only guests the first day and a half of our trip -- lucky for us, this meant we usually had the pool & spa to ourselves! Rick was always happy to answer our questions and even recommended some places to visit in downtown Palm Springs. Definitely a place Id like to return to!
Hidden gem in the middle of no where. Cute little rooms with beautiful views of the pool and the surrounding mountains. Laid back feel with modern amenities. Close proximity to local attractions in Palm Springs. Took my girlfriend and lovely dog for my birthday weekend. Had an amazing time and will definitely come back for another stay.
Absolutely amazing oasis slice of heaven in the desert! I had intended to stay only one night and ended up staying 3! One of the owners ricki is a beautiful soul and fantastic person. He shared wonderful stories and yummy food with me. There are 4 different pools and saunas all natural mineral water coming straight from the earth! I felt cleansed mind body and soul from my stay there. I think it is one of my favorite places in the world! Dog friendly but very clean, and a big beautiful kitchen and bbq area so bring some grub! They have all the equipment you need too, pans blenders cups silverware knives. I will definitely be back with my good friends to make some delicious food. But this time I came alone and found new friends!!
I enjoyed my stay here. I originally booked 2 nights, Mon-Wed for a total of $252 USD (taxes and fees incl.) on a 3rd party website. I then requested to extend my stay by one night, which was accommodated at an additional rate of $190 USD (taxes and fees incl.). Almost 5 months has passed and my card was just now charged. I did not get a notification from O Spa before processing and only discovered this after my own due diligence.PLUS: The pools are 24/7.MINUS: There is no room cleaning. (perhaps COVID related)NOTE: No hair dryers, have to request from reception.
Dont get misled by the website! It looks like a Zen paradise online but once you get there is a ghetto, run down motel 6, if we could call it that! 1. The pool was filthy, we stood for 2 days and the pool was disgusting, I didnt even swim in it fearing I caught a bacteria or something! No one came to clean it while we were there!2. The tub has a crack in it, and its peeling/coming apart at the bottom!3. The tin tub had mold in it, it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in ages!4. The steam room, never works, my question is why advertise it, if you know it doesnt work!!! Weve been here twice and the Steam room never worked, even the guy that runs the property said itll never work, so why not remove it from the website and stop misleading people?5. The lounge chairs were torn, about three of them, people were complaining left to right, a couple told us, I cant believe we have to sit on torn chairs!!!6. In the middle of our stay I think it was the Sanitation dept. walked in to the property and the owner guy told everyone to get out of the pool because it was dirty! I guess he didnt want to get in trouble! This place is a dump! I went as far as to file a complaint with a woman whose name is on the website (British accent) and Im still waiting for a call back! Never again!
I had made reservations over the phone. I was excited to bring my dog (pittie) I read the rules of the hotel BEFORE I called about dogs. It said ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES. Perfect! When I made the reservation I was not told that there are 2 “property” dogs that roam freely. We got there, my dog on leash ( rules) and both dogs came running up to mine which freaked her out and she got spooked. I asked if Rick could put his dogs away so I could get mine in the room. Well we didn’t get that far because Rick was saying MY dog is aggressive. She’s not aggressive, she just didn’t like the free running dogs coming up to her. Once again mine was on a leash. It became a yelling match about my dog. So I handed the key back and said “had I known there were free roaming dogs I wouldn’t have come here”. I asked for my money back seeing that it wasn’t a place for us. We were refused a refund even for one of the nights.Once again all could have been avoided had at the time of making the reservation I was told about the dogs NOT ON LEASHES.
Relaxing pet and cannabis friendly resort. I spent 7 nights here, long enough to see that it needs interior and exterior work, so suggest a shorter stay. Also be aware about your car. My first night brought a plethora of cars broken into while parked on hotel property. The perps were so sophisticated that they only broke one car window and used a universal remote opener for my car. The hotel owner was unconcerned and does not publicly post about removing valuables from the car. He was so apathetic, it almost makes me wonder if he knew/knows about who hit his hotel. Items taken included an REI backpack w water bottles, packed first aid kit, needles and syringes for my diabetic dog, remote for home garage door (fortunately, I have a POB and my home address was not in the car or the perps could have gained access to my home), 2 bottles of wine, a knife, New Yorker canvas bag and prescription eyeglasses. This theft could have been prevented with a word to the wise from the hotel owner and I would have removed everything from the car.
Was told that this was not an 24 hour place. Just was turned down for a room for the night
Pool and Spa was great, rooms were pretty okay, unfortunately you should bring a shower mat because they are incredibly slippery, slipped and fell and got a gash and minor concussion because if it.loose tiles are all over the outside and there were no first aid kits visible in room or front office so should probably bring your own.nobody was in the office and it seemed hard to find who actually worked there in general. I think worse of all is paying burn baby burn on a 30 minute repeat
We stayed in December 2019 for 5 nights. Although the weather was not hot, it was still nice and the pool was warm and the hot pool was really nice too. It was very laid back, met some nice people. Dont get me wrong, the place is not a 5 Star full service hotel but everything was just great. We will go back again.
Great hotel and amenities. The communal kitchen is great and has everything to cook. Staff is friendly. We loved using the bbqs, pools and day beds. Would definitely come back!
I absolutely LOVE this place! My boyfriend and I have been here many times and we can’t get enough. The owner Rick has done an amazing job remodeling the place and the natural mineral waters are magical. This is our favorite spot in Desert Hot Springs!
Stayed at the O Spa for my first time for a Yoga/Detox/Meditate retreat and I will definitely be back. The atmosphere at the O Spa is quaint and O so relaxing. The grounds and amenities are beautiful and well maintained. I took advantage of the spa menu while staying at the O Spa and both my facial and massage by Margo were AMAZING! She is so knowledgeable about her trade and she is able to customize her services to meet your specific needs. Best facial and massage I’ve ever had AND I’ve had a lot. The spa services and water features on this property left me feeling rejuvenated!P.S. It is my understanding that the O Spa partners with AZIAM Yoga by Alanna to offer Yoga/Detox/Meditate retreats. I highly recommend attending one of these retreats. You will leave feeling liKe a million dollars....at least I did! Thanks Rick and Alanna for a wonderful stay,. Hope to see you again soon!
A beautiful property with mineral pools, tubs, and pools. The staff were all super friendly, accommodating and helpful. The facility overall is pretty nice with some small overall needs which would complete it. They even accommodatated a 2pm checkout for me at no extra cost so I could do my work meetings. Pet friendly as well! Thanks O-spa staff you are all super nice and we appreciate you.
What a strange find this place was! I was traveling around the country, booking each hotel one night in advance using hoteltonight. This place had a great price and it looked like a nice pool. Temp was about 105. I was shocked at what a strange little oasis I had discovered. And omg the pool water was the cleanest I had ever been in. All salt water, perfect temp. I will have to go to the middle of nowhere again and revisit this place.
Really cool chill place. Loved the owners dogs, super sweet and friendly. Felt like a really personal experience. Fun place, music and the pools were great. Clean. Ill be back!
We tried but were not allowed to stay here. The owner, Rick, refused to help us deal with an issue with the room, telling us ‘if you don’t like the room, just leave’. This was around midnight and we had to seek shelter with a friend after Rick called the cops and refused to give us a refund. AVOID THIS PLACE.
Rick the proprietor is amazing! Hes very welcoming and has done a wonderful job in the unique decor & general aesthetics of the entire property. You wont regret your stay here! You’re Welcome! 😜
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT BOOK! after reading all the negative reviews, we should have listened and stayed away. owner was not accommodating on cancelling our reservation not even 24 hours after booking. the website did not indicate cancellation policies neither did the person who booked us by phone. a few good looking pools can not make up for poor management.
Horrible! I made a reservation months before a big weekend, only to have it cancelled when they got a better offer. Terrible! Unprofessional and their manager Rick is a ridiculous terrible human being. Do not trust this establishment.
Such a sweet comfy place to chill with minimal chlorine hot springs and a beautiful Quan yin statue. Funky paintings and big community kitchen and play room. The cook makes authentic Mexican food and seems to be great for families small groups and private retreats!
I just love this place. Hippy Chic. 80 percent luxury and 20 percent laid back. Large communal kitchen whete you can keep and prepare food but the best one I have ever seen. Perfect for some like me who wants luxury but is on a special diet and wants to cook all their own food. Cool sexy music at the pool. Free cabanas, Very Weed freindly. Perfect laid back luxury vibe. I have never found another place quite like this one.
Had a great stay at the hotel 🏨 was there for Coachella and had a wonderful experience. Nice pools, comfy bed and some good restaurants around. Highly recommended 👌🌵🐪🏜️
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! I booked through Airbnb and called to let them know I would be checking in a few hours late. The FREAK who answered the phone number that was listed on their Airbnb was whimpering and crying for help. My wife and I were totally unnerved and freaked out. RED FLAG. Finally found another direct number listed on their website and no one answered, but then was called back on a different cell phone number by some guy named Rick who told us it was not their problem and hung up. He is now holding my money hostage. Thought about calling the police at first even. From the other reviews it seems this place is basically a trailer park disguising itself as a motel anyway. Highly suggest steering clear of here and reading the other reviews on Google.
The O Resort was a beautiful and unique property. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and unique and the pools were incredible. Definitely staying here again
Definitely not the best vibes in Desert Hot Springs.5 ☆s was a mistake.Definitely not a place to relax and be yourself in a comfortable environment that feels like a super-chill/cool/stylin vacation resort home away from home you never had. Please help me keep this gem 💎 a secret...
O Spa was what we were looking for. Exceptionally clean, small - 14 rooms -very nice type of guests, pet friendly, very peaceful. Felt at home on vacation. Would return and plan on renting for the company weekend get together.
The resort was peaceful and relaxing. The only issues we had were the owners dogs barking at 5am outside our room. Next time we plan on staying in a different room
Bought a Groupon and due to Corona I was told they are not accepting them at this time. I tried to get a refund from Groupon who continues to insist that the merchant is open are are accepting vouchers. I call the O Spa back and was told that they are accepting a limited number of vouchers. Very frustrating and very unhelpful on both ends. Also, very confusing information. Why is MY Groupon not being accepted???How very disappointing because I really wanted to come here....
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! I booked through Airbnb and called to let them know I was going to check in a few hours late. The number they have listed was answered by some freak who was crying and whimpering for help. RED FLAG. Called another number listed online and it went to some guy named Rick’s cell phone. Told him about the problem and hung up. He is now holding my money hostage and is super hot headed. Have thought about calling the police, BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!
We havent even finished our stay yet and hands down we cant wait to be regulars at this place. We came ar the beginning of week maybe 4 other people tops...... it private.... peaceful....and it exactly what we needed with our vacation plans changing. This is such a cute boutique spa with motel....we cant wait for our couples massages tomorrow and many more trips to come.
I booked this place through Expedia, and it was clear at booking that it was an adult only place. It was not clear through Google either, which led me to Expedia for booking. We called the very next day explaining that we are traveling with under 18y/o. They said they would issue a refund, but never did. I called myself and went through Expedia also 5 or 6 times. Each time they promise the refund but not issuing it. Worst service.
Everything about this place was AMAZING! From the rooms to the service and even the other guest. I Literally have NO COMPLAINTS. They even went a extra step and gave us a free bottle of wine for my girlfriends birthday.I love this place. NO CAP
The only complaint I have was the music they where playing, I was looking forward to have a “SPA RELAXATION EXPERIENCE” instead I felt in a bad party with EDM music, wish they where more neutral with the music or not play music at all... it’s a beautiful place. Just wish my experience have been more relaxing.
This is one of the most beautiful spots. A gem. Prefer mid-week when its less people and easier to be a woman traveling alone or for strategic brainstorming with the right people.Have stayed many times. Berta keeps it sparkling clean.
I had an excellent massage and the hot mineral pools left my skin and hair silky smooth!
DO NOT BOOK. This is a scam place. They charged my card and then “cancelled my reservation” but kept the money. It’s been 3 weeks and still have not received a refund. I call every other day and have sent 5 emails and no response!!
I highly recommend this place, natural spring water, romantic, plenty of open outdoor spaces, and woof friendly. Be it a one-on-one romantic getaway, or 420 friendly past to your neighbors BBQ, I personally guarantee this will be a great trip,
The o spa was amazing .. I have so much fun feeling and being free .. the owner has created a wonderful place here and I will be coming back .. I loved every single thing about this place .. cheers to Robert and indigo and think so much for my birthday bottle .. much love peace and happiness my people … ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🌞🪴🏞
The owner is very rude bugs in ice machine don’t use!!!! Location is in the middle of the ghetto, cars have been broken into & the over worked worker Ana is not so friendly constantly talks about guests rooms falling apart but looks can be deceiving I guess & treats employees like trash don’t ever apply here
I love this place so much! They have created such a magical atmosphere, I feel so blessed to have this home away from home.
Absolutely hands down the most chill spot in desert... I spent the whole time swimming in natural spring water pools and chillin with all jinds of great people.. Rick the manager does a great job
Such an awesome place with great amenities. Theyre pet & 420 friendly and adults only.We had such a peaceful stay at the O spa!!!
What a great place to take a soak in the mineral springs. Lost a flip flop to one of the dogs lol. So yeah dog friendly and 420 friendly. Great place to chill.
Newly remodeled and such an O-asis in the desert. This was my first trip to Palm Springs and I will be back primarily because of this amazing resort.
Summer is here, the sun is in its full glory. After looking at the calendar and having maximized my vacation time on the books, my wife and I planned to take a few days off to get away. Not being a big traveller and one always looking for a good deal I began like most with questions were to go, so I turned to the internet to find a local place. I come across this place “The O Spa” a fairly newly remodeled older building that appears to be inviting with mixed reviews. “The O Spa” it is! The online reservation process was easy and confirmation email was received. Not sure if the room had a TV or not I made a call to Rick the onsite property manager and asked if he can have a TV in the room, he said if I would like one in the room to note the request during the reservation process. The property overall is well maintained and clean and a continued effort to improve the property is present. The outdoor furniture was all in good shape. The cabanas are new and provide a good balance of sun and shade, equipped with curtains in the front which seem to be useless due to the winds of the desert. The pool area is wired with sound for music which is controlled by property management which the music he selected was nice mostly instrumentals, I sure you can request your music genre, but a good balance for all the guests. The large pool was warm and clean, the surface was smooth and didn’t leave you feet sore or tender which I can’t say for the smaller indoor pool which was warm and clean but is in need of a resurfacing nevertheless it is a spa you can sit and enjoy the warm mineral waters and the obiance of the room. Keeping with the water theme the outdoor bath at the time of our arrival was not operational no water would come out of the spout. I notified Rick and he did respond making an effort to get it to work, he was not able to get it working but later that evening the pool service guy showed up and had it working, good response. We stayed in the room Barsalona which was clean and nicely decorated. Bed and bedding was comfortable and clean. Room was equipped with a small refrigerator, small dining table with chairs, and a sink. The community kitchen was great, I had done some meal prep and brought meals with us BBQ chicken pizza and chicken tacos using the kitchen to make our meals. We did not leave the spa the two days we were there. The one item they should invest in an ice machine being in the desert ice is nice to have and the refrigerator ice maker can not keep up with the guests needs. I ended up going to the store to buy ice.My final thoughts: this is a great place to escape comfortable and relaxing. Don’t expect a new 4 or 5 star resort feel but rather an escape to relax without the bling. I hope they continue to work on a few items such as the wifi and the connections. Get an ice machine, resurface the small pool in the off season. Overall we had a great time and will be back. July 2019
My boyfriend and I loved The O spa! Rick the owner is super sweet and the vibe is perfect. I can’t wait to take my sister🥰💗
Wonderful rooms. Very friendly environment. Great place to escape the heat. The owner is very hands on. I will be back soon.
Worst service ever. We booked that hotel for the Coachella then the festival canceled because of Covid-19. And I call the hotel for the cancellation and they refused to refund our payment. Disgusting!
We went for the day last month and had a great time!!! Booked the Resort for my bday weekend in August! Cant wait!
Spacious and nice rooms. Clean pools. You can socialise in the common room or stay by yourself. Friendly and helpful owner.
Great place, the Owner is very hospitable and gracious! The rooms are clean and the spa is just right.
A beautiful place for small groups or on you own. Jist a handful of rooms surrounding a mineral pool and the large Quan Yon deity statue
Nice place to stay with good style. Clean. Doesn’t feel corporate.
Well done, low key and the super chill home of Namastoned cannabis yoga which is amazing. Chakra Khan is fantastic.
Cool pools service was great had a lot of fun here
The service is excellent, everyone is super nice !great place to get away for the weekend, and has stunning views
Great day. Clean and well maintained. Easygoing. Great waters.we will be back!!
Great weekend getaway quiet relaxing right next to palm Springs Joshua tree the pools are very refreshing spring water
Beautiful redone resort but in a bad part of town. Expect to get your car broken into...
Amazing place. Staff was super friendly. Highly recommend it. Good vibes, good people💯💯
Nice place but terrible management. And also dirty rooms. Stay away and check other perfect hotels.
Had a great time! Great amenities, comfy room, great staff, and friendly animals!
If you want a place to relax with pool, hot thermals, 420 friendly, and live music on weekends, this is your place.
O spa is extremely unprofessional!! Rick is rude and has poor customer service. Please think twice before patronizing this business.
Great place. love to go back again one day
I love this place so far so good. Great environment and clean. I cant wait to be back
Great place to go-to unwind and relax a spa ,pool, and fully stocked bar..
Pictures are misleading and management is sleazy. This place is the “Fyre festival” of desert hotels
Friendly staff covid friendly great place to relax when OPEN .cant wait till we can go back .
Cutest little spa ever!! Well maintained and very friendly staff.
Great get away spot for relaxing.. Definitely going back again..
Eclectic, funky-cool! Always improving.
So beautiful, small, fun, day passes for the Spa. Great place.
It was a hidden oasis within the desert. Can’t wait to come back and visit in the spring !
Great place to go and enjoy the many pools
Great relaxing place, Rick the owner was great.
Great venue that was even better than the pictures
Super pet friendly, even with house rabbits
