Beyond unprofessional. The first time I went here for a service after signing up for membership they called me while I was on my way there (my phone was in my bag and not hooked to bluetooth) maybe 20 mins before my appointment to tell me the therapist called out. It takes me a half hour to get to the location so that was pretty frustrating.The last time I went here for a service, the therapist was just off and weird. She was wearing a mask, which I had no issue with, but then she insisted that I wear one as well and gave me a paper one. I was a little surprised but put it on anyway since you cant be too safe. I felt bad she had to give me one and said I would have brought my own if I knew, at which point she expressed that the management wouldnt allow it and told her she had to pay out of pocket for her own masks. On the table I inhaled funny and cleared my throat (did NOT cough and was not congested in any way), at which point she stopped the massage, threw her hands in the air, and said If youre sick we cant continue. I assured her I wasnt but I for damn sure wasnt relaxed after that. I should have just left.The only good therapist they had was Alicia, who has been booked solid for years or no longer works there - I dont know which. Everyone else Ive interacted with here has been indifferent, uncaring, or outright unpleasant with the exception of Brooke, who I spoke with today and was extremely kind. Brooke if you see this - get out while you can, girl.You cant get a live human on the phone unless you choose the right magical number that takes you to the book an appointment line option, and half the time you still wind up in voicemail, where no one ever calls you back.I called to cancel my membership in November and was told it would be two weeks for me to hear back from their accounts/accounting person by phone or email. Nothing. Called again in December and never got a call back or email. Im not proud to say this but I will admit I left a pretty sarcastic message for the person requesting a callback. She called me back once to say shes always in the office after 3pm and despite me trying several times to reach her on different days after 3pm, no dice.They didnt bill me at the beginning of January so I thought they just cancelled and didnt call. Ha! Nope. They wound up attempting to charge me for two months at once about a week later, which put my HSA account in the red and prevented me from being able to refill my prescription medication.I had to call AGAIN, where the person who answered argued with me about whether or not the charge was on my card, even after Id said more than once I showed it as pending and not posted. When I asked how long it would take for the pending charge to reverse and she got really short with me. I asked why I hadnt heard back from their accounts person and she snotted that she (the account person) is really busy and it could take up to six weeks (!) for me to hear back, despite me having originally called in November.The pending charge reversed and I didnt hear back from anyone. I moved on with my life. I wasnt even planning on posting a review until they just called me today and followed up with an email saying my account was suspended and I needed to make a payment immediately. I logged on to my card account and saw that they had charged it again.Holy. Crap.How many times do I have to request the cancellation? Because were on four times now for those of you still reading.Complete clowns. Id rather roll in broken glass and jump into a pool of lemon juice.
Do not enroll in membership. Continued charging membership fees 6 months after multiple requests for cancellation. Their accounts team has proven unreachable.
Worst massage ever. Waste of money overpriced for the service. 60 min massage only lasted 45 mins. The masseuse barely massaged my hands and did not massage feet or head at all-Just randomly stopped at the end -nothing soothing or complete like resting hands at top of your head-nothing relaxing about this . Movement was random and inconsistent. Had raging wet cough during much of the time. I deserve my money back.
The actual massage therapist Deneda is fantastic and esthetician Aida is phenomenal.However, the whole chain is starting to seem like a great big scam as far as handling account issues. The seemingly left an incompetent person at the front to handle all account issues. She can barely schedule an appointment let alone figure out account discrepancies. She says she does not know when the manager will be in, and has no way to contact them. She doesn’t even bother to take down the customers info so that a manager can get in contact. She is lost, lacks training, and rude.
Love the Massage Envy at the Rotunda. Customer service is great! They always answer the phone. Darius is awesome. Massage is a part of if my self care regimen and pain management because I have an autoimmune condition. Well worth the money.
We had a snow day, many people was flexible due to inclement weather, when I called to ask for flexibility the front desk lady said they would have to charge 100% of the service and they offered no other options. I was able to make it and the aesthetician was lovely, hence the two stars; but I am never going back to this place.
My mother-in-law had a hydrating facial done there a few days ago by Jennifer. Completely ruined her skin. She has burns all over her face. She went there to complain and the receptionist was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Please fire her because she doesn’t seem fit to be in the field of customer service. And immediate action should be taken against these people.
Its incredibly difficult to service your account or to book appointments at the Ellicott City or Columbia location. Calls to the front desk arent answered and voice messages arent returned. Im likely to cancel my membership for this as soon as convenient.Update: I did finally receive a call back... 11 days later.Second Update: HIGHLY recommend NOT getting any membership in this area. Fees cover you for one massage per month... Its Aug 7 (2022) and this location has no availability until Sep 28 at noon. They also canceled my last 3 appointments, but are still charging my monthly fees, putting me further behind on using credits. Best option they offered when I called about it was to charge me $20 per month to allow me to maintain access to my credits in a Freeze plus status.Final Update: After being charged $80 monthly after only ever authorizing $70 and after multiple attempts to cancel my membership ignored over this last month (with yet another overcharge bill after I requested to cancel multiple times), Ive reported this business to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and had to dispute all charges with my credit card (successfully)... my membership still hasnt been canceled.
I recently called to cancel my 10 year membership with Massage Envy because the customer service and appointment scheduling has been getting worse and worse. I spoke with Mike, the manager, of this location and Columbia. He couldnt answer my questions about scheduling and gave me the number of the franchise owner, Andrea. She was very civil, at first, because she didnt want me to cancel my membership. I ended up cancelling my membership anyway because I didnt have a good feeling about Massage Envy. I know there are MANY providers who can be professional and trust worthy that provide facials and massages in my area.Even though I cancelled my future appointments, they still charged me for them. When I tried talking to Andrea about it, she was very rude and would not let me say anything. My feelings were right. Its a scam to take peoples money. I just filed a complaint with the BBB!
I noticed that Massage Envy has actually taken my negative review down so I am putting it back up again. This business is very unprofessional. To begin with, they do not answer their phones consistently. Second, it is VERY hard to get an appointment for a massage because there are not enough staff - so you’re limited to one massage a month. I had accrued several massages from COVID (they continued to bill me every month even though I didn’t use their services) but I couldn’t use my credits because of the staff shortage. It was a no win situation. When I contacted headquarters, they told me to contact my local Massage Envy which did nothing. So I quit - didn’t even get to use all my credits. It used to be a good business but it has really gone downhill.
Scheduled a 60 minute massage and only received a 40 minute massage. After I inquired why my massage was so short I was told that the masseuse must have started my time while I was filling out the paperwork??! After I filled out the paperwork I then had time to use the bathroom, grab water and waited longer, so I guess that was part of my massage time too? I was on time to my appointment and for them to short me on an hour massage that costs $150 after tip is just not acceptable. I will not be back to this location. What a ripoff!
I would give no stars but it wont let you post unless you rate them. DO NOT sign up for a massage envy membership, itll be the worst decision you make. I had 25+ sessions on the book to use and I told them to terminate my contract because I was done dealing with this company. Tried to get a hold of corporate office, tried to get in touch with the store location (emails/phone calls) where my membership was transferred to (because the Fulton location shut down (probably bad management there as well) and no response. I got an email 7 months after my membership transferred to be told theyre terminating my contract because my credit card was not up to date... so I wrote back to tell them all the hassle Ive been through with them and told them to just go ahead and cancel my membership; 10 minutes later, I get an email saying, thank-you, here is your confirmation email that your account was cancelled.... Thanks for the non apology and thanks for responding so quickly when all my other emails/voice messages/phone calls when unanswered! I wish you continued success with your company.
Massage Envy of Ellicott City will not cancel our membership. My wife and I have attempted to cancel it for months. We have left multiple messages and only received one returned phone call. When we are able to get through to them, we are told they can not cancel the membership and that it must be done by the corporate office. We have filled out their forms and yet they still keep charging us. I do not understand why this is so difficult. I guess if you never plan on cancelling the membership I could recommend this company as the massages were on par for the monthly charge but good luck if you ever attempt to cancel. We are going on six months of trying..
Would give zero reviews if I could. Cancelled a THIRD appointment in less than six months. Never a phone call. Never an apology. Just an automated cancel text the day before. The NEW manager, Mike, is cold, rude, and robotic. They will make it your fault that they cancelled another appointment on you that you booked weeks and months in advance, with no offer to rebook. This place will charge you monthly, refuse to let you cancel your contract even after it passes contract date, and then treat you like garbage if you ask why. Save your time and your mental health. DONT GO HERE.
Mercedes is absolutely awesome. She is a great therapist- friendly, professional and she addressed the areas I told her were about with a vengeance! I could not believe how much better I felt.My only complaint is that since Mercedes is sooo good- her schedule is booked solid for the next 6 weeks!!Thank you Massage Envy for retaining such awesome talent!
Darlene was wonderful!! As a first-timer she carefully took the time to walk me through and explain everything she was doing or would be doing, why and the benefits. This was my first time visiting a Massage Envy and unfortunately it was a terrible experience. My therapist, Pam, kept falling asleep during my massage........ In the middle of my massage I had to ask her if she was okay because she stopped moving and I could feel her body falling onto me. I didnt enjoy the rest of the session because I was so uncomfortable. Such a weird experience and I am upset that I even paid when leaving. I will not be back.
I have been going to this facility for years and loved the place, but lately my appointments are getting cancelled last minute. Two months in a row now. I depend on these for pain relief and the therapists that I work with tend to be booked months in advance.April 2022- I wanted to provide an update. What I like about the Massage Envy ( Ellicott City) they give you a 2 day reminder by text or phone depending on the method you chose.The place was very clean even down to the bathroom.Ms. Lisa my massager was very professional, friendly & made sure if I had any medical problems she took the time to make sure she understood them before starting my massage. Ms.Lisa took her time doing my massage & not rush my massage to get to the next client. She was very knowledgeable & answered all of my questions fully! Ms.Lisa even gave me information on what to do after leaving Massage Envy. I thought you just get a massage & go on your merry way! Drinking extra water today with my regular water intake she informed me. I enjoyed my massage & the professionalism so much that I got a membership.
I had a 90 minute massage with Mercedes and it was phenomenal. She feels like an artist with her sweeping motion style of massage and still manages to provide enough pressure to feel like your muscles are truly getting what they need! I’ve never had a masseuse like her before and can’t wait to go back to her again.
Mercedes is the best masseuse ever!!! There is an art to her flow...all tensed muscles are well taken care of!!! For medium to firm pressure, she is the person for the job!!!Whilst I initially gave this review a 5 star. I am changing it to a 1 star because this branch is a scam. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over 18 days and they still keep debiting my account for a service I no longer need. All bunch of scam and liars...they keep telling me that someone will call or email to cancel it but that still has not happened. Think twice before you sign up for their membership because canceling will be a hassle. I should have known better, I was walking out from their location when I heard another customer shouting at them for this same thing! Go there on a pay as you go basis but run away from their membership. They are scammers.Today is March 7th and still no call back from this store. This is so sad that you sign up so easily but it is a nightmare to cancel your subscription. Its been over a month now and at this point, I will have the get the County or lawyers to get involved. Like always Aida was fantastic!! However the front desk ladies; “not friendly at all”. When trying to make a payment for service and a product we encounter a problem with their digital machine reader. They just ignored the problem and refused taking check as form of payment, leaving for me to solve the problem. Luckily I figured out how to get the digital debit card number by using the phone application and manually entered the card information.After leaving the place, I stopped by Sprouts where I was able of paying by using my phone without problem which confirmed that the problem was their reading devise. I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 12 years and Aida’s professionalism and excellence in customer service is the only reason, I still using this location services. A couple months ago I tried using the Columbia but unfortunately the level of their their customer service is at the same level. I definitely miss the level of customer service of Clarksville location.😥
I have a lot of tension in my upper back and it is hard to find someone constant. Kevin is the best massage therapist ever! I have and will continue to refer him. If you haven’t experienced a good massage, it’s your first massage experience, or we just need to relax ask for Kevin! You won’t regret it!
Had a massage there last night. Ive been a member for years. And this was my first time booking with Karen. But it may be the best massage Ive ever had! Shes got a very different technique. My muscles are always in spasm. Electrolyte imbalance. And shes probably the only therapist whos ever made me feel like it made a difference. Actually dont want to give her name here bc its just gonna make her harder to book!
Ive tried to cancel for a week now and the Accounts department wont return my calls, much less pick up the phone when I call. If they refuse to respond for much longer Ill be forced to cancel my credit card. What a shady operation.
If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. I have been trying to cancel my membership since August. I have made 8 phone calls and 3 emails in regard to this issue. I have been given different information each time, and despite finally sending a cancellation email, I was charged again. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen and, frankly, these business practices should be illegal. I am disgusted at how this business and their employees treat their customers. I will never give my money to Massage Envy again and will spend the rest of my life advising people to go somewhere else. Absolutely despicable. I advise you to stay away.

I used to feel that I always needed deep tissue or firm massages. Over time I realize sometime I was coming out very sore after and not being able to even move properly as soon as it was over. Pamela is a great addition to the Ellicott city massage envy. She does a light massage and that really does everything to loosen you up. She takes time to listen to what your needs are and ensures that you walk out of there feeling better than you did coming in.
I have been coming to see Joslin for a few years. She is an amazing massage therapist.As a member, I wish that this location would offer more firm pressure appointments weekday evenings. Most weekday appts are only available until 2 pm which is not convenient at all for people who work.
So far I like everything about this business! I like that I am always politely greeted by Ishika who also handles my scheduling and membership with great attention. And I also like how professional and skilled Lorraine my massage therapist is. Her timing, consistency and pressure is just right. Always looking forward to my next session!
Dont ever get a membership to massage envy. My wife and I have been trying to get payments to stop for 4 months and every month we call again and are told it will be taken care of and the next month more money is pulled from the account. Staff is very friendly but dont seem to like to stop memberships.
Wonderful masseuse! Karen is The BEST! She does such a good job! She is dedicated, so professional, knows what she is doing, and really care and helped me a lot with my chronic pains! I come every two weeks for relief!
Have been a member with Massage Envy since 2012. Today I tried to call and cancel my membership because the 2 closest locations to me closed. When trying to book with Ellicott City Massage Envy (1.5 hour massage as I always have received) they didn’t have anything to accommodate me for over a month and a half out. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that the billing department would contact me in 10-15 days to walk me through the process. When I asked if I would continue to be billed she said yes for this month (payment due in 2 days). I asked why I would be billed if I was wanting to cancel today and she said that so many people are canceling there memberships that billing is swamped. So their problem is now my problem as they try to steal another $70 from me for another month I won’t even be able to use.Lady called me and set me up to cancel. Said there was 2 options. Immediate or 60 days and I told her immediate. She said she was emailing me. Sent wrong form and emailed me again the same wrong form. I emailed back 5 days ago and no reply. My cc has now been charged again even after I emailed them that they were no longer to charge that account. Horrible customer service.Considering legal action at this point.
Karen is by far the best therapist I have experienced. While most of the therapists at Message Envy are great, Karen’s skill and knowledge coupled with her focus on you as an individual makes her an amazing professional.I urge Massage Envy to watch guidelines for the pandemic and treat their institutions similar to that of a health care center to protect their employees.
Karen is the best massage therapist I have ever had. She cares about your needs and tries to make sure she addresses those needs during the massage and stretch.The front desk staff needs some fine tuning. The app is horrible.
To be honest I usually dont post feedback, positive or negative. In fact its taking me a whole week to post this because I felt like I would leave it and never have to address it given that I had rescheduled my next appointment with another therapist. However I thought about the lack of costumer service I experienced again after I had a recent pleasant appointment (four days after the actual interaction) and thought to myself, no I have to mention this. The therapist I am specifically reviewing is an older lady at this location. When I got there, she did not invite me to use the bathroom first before starting the message (all the therapist invite the client to use the bathroom first before the appointment starts), then we got in the room and she asked me if the ladies at the front got my temperature and if I had filled out the screener (no other therapist since start of covid ever asked me those questions)..now granted she could have asked due to dotting her Is and crossing her Ts, but it had me thinking did she not trust the precautions in place by the company she works for. During the message she never asked if her pressure was okay, when she tried turning my head she pulled on my head back to initiate turning my head, and only twice did she ask if I was okay, which was in the beginning with the bolster under my knee and towards the end when she moved the bolster to under my ankle. OH, and when she used one hand to massage my back , the other hand was nicely resting on my arm...to the point where I had to keep moving my arm... I dont mind if you hand needs to rest, but to rest on the customer cant be an option. I also do not like the fact that complaints cant be made in person...and even if its cant be in person, it should be immediate over the phone or on a video call, the fact that am typing this, I wonder exactly how this therapist is gonna be kept accountable for her bad customer service and professionalism.
All of the therapists that I have at Massage Envy in Ellicott City have been wonderful. But Kevin takes it to a whole new level! Not only is he communicative to my personal needs, but his approach and technique is extraordinary. I can’t say enough good things about Kevin!
I made a request to cancel my membership in October. I am a healthcare worker who does not feel comfortable getting a massage and possibly spreading a deadly disease to other people. I have made multiple phone calls to this location to follow up on the progress of my membership cancellation and have been very patient in giving the appropriate time it takes to process it. Each time I speak to someone they give me different information and in many instances the people I speak to are not professional or kind. I have requested callbacks multiple times and have received none. It reflects on really poor customer service and communication across-the-board at this location. There has been too many service failures here, I have many multiple attempts to contact the business directly for months to resolve this issue with no resolution.
The Ellicott City location was a huge contrast to the Gateway Crosding/Columbia location. Ellicott City felt like a spa is supposed to feel from the moment you walk in the door and my therapist Karen was fantastic! I wish I could afford to go weekly but I will definitely return. Thank you for a great experience!
Great experience. They follow all the covid precautions and are very professional. No wait time, started right on time and had an amazing 60 minute with Mercedes. Zoe was helpful as she greeted and saw me out. Debating the membership. I would recommend!
If I could give more than five stars I would without a doubt! I received a gift certificate for Christmas for a prenatal massage and so glad I didn’t use it right away. I’m 8 months pregnant and a few days ago just started to feel completely MISERABLE, of course my baby shower is tomorrow. I was desperate to find a location with hopes the massage would help a tiny bit! I looked at multiple locations and thankfully I finally found an appointment in the Ellicott city location, It was worth every bit of the 45 minute drive! From the ladies at the front desk to my amazing massage therapist (Marisol) I don’t think I could have asked for a better first time experience. I’ll absolutely be making that 45 minute drive again in the near future! thank you so much ladies, see you soon!
Massages are decent, but good luck scheduling an appointment. Even when I’ve been able to schedule one, more often than not, I get a phone call on the day of the appointment to cancel.
I’ve been a ME member for two years, and am generally happy each tie i receive a massage at the Route 40 Ellicott City location. But my last two massages have been far and away the best - I’ve come away relaxed, refreshed, and enjoying those feelings for a day or more. Kevin is the best therapist - so attuned to the kinks and tightness he dispels with a combination of message and intentions. Namaste!
Since I’ve been going to the Massage Envy located in Ellicott City I’m please with the safety protocols still in place. I must also give much kudos to Mercedes for always doing so such a professional and wonderful deep massage.Much kudos to Mercedes for her professionalism in providing deep tissue massage. My muscles, lower back and neck pain feels better when shes done.
This franchise was fine until I asked for a freeze plus to use my unused services acquired through covid. Their accounts team gives themselves 10 days to contact you. The first two attempts they never responded. The front office told me I had to do my part after trying for 2 months to resolve the issue. I was also told I could not expect pre covid customer service.
I had a wonderful 60 minute deep tissue massage with Joslin yesterday. My body was full of knots and she worked them out. My only complaint is that the massage wasn’t long enough. She’s the best and I can’t wait to see her again!!!!!
Deneeda rocks! I started my massages back up a year after covid and at a new location at that. Marisol was my fist therapist there and she was amazing but that was my first and last massage (as it was her last day at ME). I wanted someone just as good and was paired with Deneeda. She was just as amazing!!There is nothing further to be explained because she is just that good!! Ok top of that she mad me feel safe during this pandemic. This was my 3rd visit since the start of the pandemic. I felt very safe with the precautions that are in place. My massage therapist, Daneada, is always prepared for me and provided a great massage. Looking forward to coming back soon.
I usually go to the Massage Envy in Laurel, but this one had a last minute massage opening that I booked. Due to COVID, shortly before the appointment I receive a text to check in and remain in the car until I receive confirmation to come into the building. I checked in and waited...7 mins after my appointment time I walked in and waited a few more minutes for the masseuse to escort me to the room. I didnt enter the massage room until almost 15 mins into my appointment. The masseuse did a good job, but when she finished I looked up and it was 10 mins short of the 60 mins allotted for the massage. The ladies at the front desk were busy talking to each other and didnt acknowledge me as I was walking out. Needless to say, Ill stick with my home location 😒
Read, read, read! I recently cancelled my membership after being a member for quite some time. I have 6-7 unused sessions which I wanted to gave to others, since I can not use them. I was told after you cancel your membership only you can use the sessions within a certain amount of time. I think 60 days. I paid Massage Envy, $420 or $490 for the sessions, so why cant I do with them as I please, give them to my husband who is still a member. Also, after reading the comments about continuing to be charged after telling M.E, about wanting to cancel, I called my bank and immediately stopped future payments. I did receive documentation/letter from ME about my request to cancel.
I can’t get anyone to answer the phone after 6 tries. Different days and times. Yesterday I got someone to answer and she put me on hold then disconnected and when I called back to voicemail I go. My husband got me a massage from her as a gift card ( never again) I can’t even schedule one. I am trying to just get a refund and go somewhere else who can accommodate me. I’m very confused about the 4.4 rating and totally disagree. Is this a franchise if so it’s very poorly run operation in my opinion.
Sorry to write this and give a bad review for the sake of the massage therapists and employees but the management here is horrible. No response to issues or concerns. Been trying to cancel my membership for over a month and apparently can’t do that till management sends me a cancellation email which they havnt after repeated messages and calls, as well as with reception in person. Disputing my last two recurring charges after this review. We will see if they respond after that.
I had a 4:30pm appointment with Sam. When I walked in, I didnt fill out any information like I normally have. Health concerns, areas of concentration, etc. Then after my massage, I checked out at the front desk. I paid $30 with a gift card and $20 on my visa card and tipped in cash. At 9pm at night I receive a VM from Samantha who advised I didnt get checked out and no card is on file and I owed $60. I called and left a VM at 10:30pm and had to call again at 11am the next morning. She was extremely rude and acted like I walked out without paying. Check the security tape! I had to send her a screenshot of my payment to an email address. Then she called me 4 hours later for the last 4 digits of my card and said shed call back after she looks at the transactions. Im not sure what is going on but I will never return to your facility . I was going to the Clarkville location until that one closed its doors without ANY notice. I feel like something shady with my card is going on. For her to call me, be rude, no apologies and have to call me multiple times to verify my payment is upsetting and unacceptable. Ive never had this issue in any establishment before. Sam is great and I hope he finds a much better location that appreciates their customers.
The quality of therapists seems to have improved since the Clarksville location closed. It used to be hit or miss, but I have had 4 different therapists recently and all were great (Jasmine, Marisol, Camella & Erica). It would nice if the parking lot was bigger, but they would have to move to fix that. Theres a karate class for kids next door that seems to pack the lot in the late afternoons on weekdays.
I switched Laurel location to Ellicott City after my therapist left. I was recommended the therapist named Mercedes and she is the best! I just have to book ahead! Thank you Mercedes for your strong hands and professionalism!
Had a great experience with Aida for my facial yesterday morning. She is so upbeat and positive and I found her super knowledgeable and sweet. I will be back for sure!
I had the best massage ever from Lorrain at this location. Everything about it was perfect! Perfect pressure, great communication, I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. Ish at the front was extremely friendly and complimented me too! I will 100% be coming back.
Most of my massages were horrible only like 3 ladies can give good massages and they are always booked. I cancelled my membership, they stopped charging me then started back charging my card. Greeted by Zoe, who is very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Great first impression of Massage Envy. My massage was AMAZING! Massage therapist, Ashley, was awesome! I deal with chronic neck and back pain. I walked out feeling like a million bucks! Highly recommend!!!
I have been trying to freeze my and my husbands memberships since August 2021, just to catch up on our sessions. I was originally a member at Clarksville but when they closed, I was assigned by default to Ellicott City. I even went into the Ellicott City location and talked with Andrea (accts mgr) in person and she promised me she would help me, that was 2/21/2022. I have been a member for ~20 years and certainly DO NOT DESERVE to be treated this way.
Pam was excellent! Very knowledgeable of what my needs based off condition was needed. Educated me in the different types and how they affect the body. She had the room cleaned, neat and gentle spirit.
My massage therapist at the Ellicott City location was wonderful! Her technique couldn’t have been better! She was very professional and made sure we were on the same page...I guess I have to mention her name - Karen D!!!
I cancelled my membership on Feb 11th and every month they still charge my credit card. I have called multiple times, as well as emailed. The customer service is horrible. I can’t believe I’m still dealing with their incompetence after 8 months on disputing the monthly charge. I will NEVER use Massage Envy again, this has been extremely frustrating.
The clerk behind the desk named Zoe was highly unprofessional rude and disrespectful. I asked about the promotion buy one 60 minute massage and receive one free in which she asked for assistance from the other clerk to help her check me out after service because she wasn’t knowledgeable on how to do so herself. When asked about details about the free massage she rudely rolled her eyes and told me I don’t know go check the website for that here’s your card. I asked for assistance from another rep in which she replied you’ll get a free facial or stretch you can go now. After explaining to her the promotion says free massage as well she got loud with me as a customer and kept pointing to the door upset when she was told she was unprofessional . I will not be returning to this location they need to work on customer service . Highly disappointed as I went there for a day of relation and left stressed out.
No one ever answers when I try to call. Issues with setting appointments on their website. When I do get through Im often put on hold. If I could ever make an appointment they call to cancel it (not reschedule). I have about a year plus of credits. I rather gift cards at this point. Maybe they have a targeted audience and I missed the memo.
I enjoy the services here. Staff is pleasant and attentive. The prices are comparable to other spas/salons in the area. It does take time to find a massage therapist that matches your preferences but there are numerous to choose from. You can continue to change massage therapists until you find the right one.
I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for over three weeks now and every time I’ve called no one is able to give me a clear answer on when I can expect my membership to be canceled. The manager is never available and does not respond to emails. I’ve called this location numerous times, sent them emails, reached out to guest relations and still received no response. This is by far the worst customer service I’ve experienced. I’ve never had this much difficulty in canceling a membership. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE.
Karen’s very active/physical massage style is truly effective at loosening muscle tension. She’s also a very caring and kind practitioner, and I was grateful for her expertise. I hope I can get another session with her, soon.
I had a wonderful experience at this location. Ive struggled with several other locations(pikesville 😑cough cough) where service was horrible. But Ellicott City was great. I received an amazing facial from Cindy, she was soooo nice, knowledgeable, and caring. I just loved her! My skin is just glowing. She didnt just want to sell me anything but only recommended what is best for my skin type. I will definenetly be coming back!
I loved my session with Kevin, it was my first one with him. He is a professional and knows his craft. I’ve been a fan of massage for over 25 years I know a good massage Kevin was excellent.
Terrible front office help, specially the girl with the blue hair shes mean. immature and totally rude. The manager lets her get away with her attitude and they both have lack of professionalism.If you cant book a massage with Angie dont go to E C location.
If I could give it no stars I would but had to give at least one to write something. NEVER again will I schedule ANYTHING with this company. Booked couples massage weeks ago. They called the morning of the day before to confirm to just turn around later that evening( night before appointment) to cancel!!! Completely UNPROFESSIONAL
Deneada is an excellent service provider! She always asks questions about your health and areas that need to be addressed in your massage. She has a very calming personality while being very professional!
Karen D is the best deep tissue and whole body stretch massage therapist! I always leave my sessions feeling recharged and relaxed. I highly recommend her at the EC Massage Envy!
I booked for a pre-natal massage.Lady at the front desk checked me in and took me to the waiting room and asked me to wait there and said that the therapist will be there shortly. I waited for 45 mins and nobody came to check with me. I again went to the front desk and told her the same and she then came with a tablet asking to enter all the details and again said that the therapist will be there shortly. I booked for a 60 min massage.. and the therapist only gave me 40 mins hands on and I felt like i paid all that money to get moisturizer applied to my body. Very frustrating experience.
The office does not have its act together. I texted per instructions but was left sitting in my car for 15 minutes until I finally barged in. My 40 minute massage with Karen was excellent, however. I complained to the front desk and got a huge shrug.
I’m 5’6 185 lbs. Lorraine’s firm pressure was just right for me. I enjoyed the massage and her education, as well as the relief yesterday and today in my back and arms.
Kevin was awesome, he was really professional and welcoming. Plus he really help get the kinks out and even stretched my body a little.. I felt a few inches taller after I left, I’ll definitely be back!
Massage therapists are great, but office staff and membership options are less than ideal to work with. Steer clear!...Had reached out to address concerns - communication and responses were limited if I received anything at all.
Mercedes is great. She provided deep tissue massage that really was deep and therapeutic. She listened to me when I talked about my tense spots and helped to relieve the tension. Awesome job!
I also, am a long time client. I have a wonderful massage therapist and the staff, there at Ellicott City are considerate and welcoming...even if you arent theyre client. Great location. Fantastic M.T. and awesome staff.
I enjoy my massages here and the facility is nice but since the pandemic getting an appointment is incredibly difficult. I recently had to go to another local place when I could not get rid of a stiff neck and was in a great deal of pain because they wouldn’t answer my calls or return my messages even though I have a membership
Mercedes is a blessing! She remembers what you have needed and incorporates what she learns from each visit. I believe she has greatly enhanced my mobility! Mercedes is warm, caring and genuine. 💫
Poor client service... requested to cancel the account and was told by the Manager that the account would be canceled. I continue to get billed on a monthly basis 3 months after canceling!! Will file a report with the better business bureau
I don’t like how I lost money for me being late for my appointment but she did a good job stretching 🙆🏽♂️ my body. I promise not to go there again with smelly socks. Next time I’ll tip her. I was quietly embarrassed but we both made it through the half hour
Angie gives a fabulous 90 min. massage. All medical issues and aches and pains were discussed and treated appropriately. The result was invigorating yet calming. Angie is terrific!
Do not go here! Very unorganized. I was here early and they didn’t take me back until 15 minutes into my appointment. They said I would not get my fullHour and still pay for it even though it was their fault. Do not go here. Very unprofessional.
When you’re able to get an appointment the therapist normally do a great job. The problem is they don’t have enough therapists so it’s almost impossible to get an appointment that fits your needs especially if you want an appointment after 1pm.
Terrible customer service when trying to cancel my membership. First, I was given the run around and there was never a manager available to speak with me. I’ve submitted my paperwork to cancel and followed up several times and have yet to receive any response. After several months of trying to cancel, I am still being charged. Do not sign up for the membership!!! It is nearly impossible to cancel!! And the customer service is awful!
Had a first time back facial with Darlene. Very relaxing after a long week. Didnt realize my back needed a deep cleaning but wow my back feels smooth.
I am enjoying the ability to do everything online. Joslin is an amazing therapist and she’s my go to for every appointment. I swear I need a nap after my massage is over.
Joslin was very good. The pressure was perfect and her knowledge of key spots was great. She was very engaging in conversation and very courteous.

Wonderful experiences; I have been three times now ... all excellent masseuses. Appointment making process can be a little frustrating, changed appointments due to staff turn-over, but VERY relaxing once there.

I really wished you paid your massage therapists better. They are constantly leaving (for better paying jobs). Stop asking the clients to pay YOUR employees!!!Every time I call, I have to wait weeks for an appt...Its VERY frustrating

Every time that I come here I berate myself for not doing this more often. We so often put ourselves last, but this is something that you can do that can improve your health and attitude which then carries over to the people you love. You are worth it.
