Its right next to the beach — honestly at a great location. There is a really good parking opportunity too, right next to the building. They have a pool which has clearly been well taken care of.But the rooms and hallways are just filthy. The building is really old,it clearly needs a renovation and a throughout cleaning. We saw bugs multiple times — cockroaches too. The rooms have carpet floors, which are in a need of cleaning. But thats not too bad, honestly my main concern is the bugs. I wouldnt mind a little dirt at all, as we only came in sleeping and the beds were relatively clean. But the bugs really gave me a nightmare.
Dear Management,Juan and Liz (and the other nice lady who was working aside Liz at the time we checked out) deserve raises ASAP! They were all the most kind, understanding, courteous, sympathetic, and helpful hotel staff that my family and I have encountered in a very long time. We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, and we love this hotel -- its steps away from the beach, the beds are comfy, the room is just the right size for a small family. But I just want to reiterate how extremely polite and understanding Juan and Liz (and the other nice woman) were to us and resolved our problem with ZERO hesitation. They really took care of us. I truly hope management reads this because even though the rooms are not the greatest cosmetic-wise, people like them are why we keep coming back whenever we visit Fort Lauderdale.
Awful place. Should be called Bates Motel by the Sea. Rooms are full of mold, ac units dont work and smell of mildew, and you cant turn it off bc your room will smell of mold. TVs are old and not updated. Walls and ceiling chipping. Bathroom tubs also chipping. No hot water, lukewarm at best. Barely slept, garbage truck comes at 6 am, and huge loud Freight truck for food delivery for the Atlantic Hotel across the street comes at 5am making a commotion. Mattress is super uncomfortable and god knows how old it is. One of the hotel guests had its car broken into in the unsecured parking lot, someone else had their plate stolen. No cameras in lot. This place is a total mess, I am not sure how they are even allowed to do business or why they dont renovate anything. Do not bring family or anyone you care about here. It is embarrassing and disgusting. Can expect 2 cockroaches in your room per day. Front desk manager lady has an attitude like its the Ritz, super rude. I have never in my life written a review, but this one had to be done. Avoid! Not worth it.
I truly enjoyed my stay here this past weekend! It’s not a super super fancy hotel, it’s definitely more laid back & the price was just right for my weekend getaway. I Loved that It was directly across the street from the beach which made my relaxing trip perfect!Room was clean upon arrival. Restaurants all walking distance. The staff was helpful and held my luggage after I checked out so that I had more time at the beach. I appreciated that they did that for me! Would absolutely book with them again next time I’m in town!!
The room is awful. Fungus on the walls, dirty sheets, and the room itself stinks. I am giving 2 stars because of the location and the staff. The staff (Juan and Liz) was amazingly kind and understood our problem and with no problems canceled our reservation. Its an awful place for a family vacation because of the people that are there cause everyone is drunk and high. On the way to our room we saw 3 naked people in their room doing you know what. It is definitely not safe.
Perfect location, however, the rooms are terrible. You can hear the noise of every other rooms plumbing and air conditioning unit so expect it to be loud. The bathroom has a step that I tripped on EVERYTIME, the clock and lamp are off so you’ll have to set the time, the TV has to be activated by a button manually but once you turn it off with the remote you have to hit the button to turn it on EVERYTIME, the table in the room has rust all over the bottom and the carpet feels very dirty.Would not recommend unless you have no where to go. There’s also a charge for the safe even if you don’t use it, and mine had garbage in it.
If you HAVE to and only staying a night or two fine. However, mildew smell. No service in rooms. Their restaurant shutdown. The toilets looked like there is urine in them (due to color). Many of the tv channels dont have sound. Lackluster water pressure. Last but not least cockroaches in the bathroom! Thankfully no bed bugs. You get what you pay for....and I fully regret not paying for it. I dont shell out for hotels...Im gonna start now!
I found the Sea Club Resort to actually be a very pleasant place to stay. Yes, its an old hotel and some things could certainly be updated, but my experience here was nothing like what so many of the bad reviews on here say. My room was really clean, and I did not see any bugs or end up with black feet from super filthy carpet, and the bed was incredibly comfy! The man who checked me in was really polite and friendly, and was more than happy to split the security deposit between two credit cards. I loved being able to stay at a place thats right along the beach, as I was able to enjoy a lovely walk along the beach down to Las Olas. I will definitely stay here again in the future if the rate is super reasonable for whenever I come to Ft. Lauderdale again for a cruise, and I think you should at least give this place a shot!
Best thing about this hotel is location (right across from beach) and the front desk people are nice. If you want use of a microwave, youll need to pay $20 one time fee, no communal microwave. The carpet is kinda sticky and will make your feet dirty, be sure to wear slippers, the TV connection to cable is really poor and all channels were static. Poor lighting. Website indicates ship shuttle service that is non existent
This was absolutely horrifying. If other hotels had rooms I would’ve left and forfeited my money. My husband was so scared he slept fully clothed with his sneakers on. Wish I checked google reviews and didn’t rely on their website that is full of lies. To say newly renovated they must’ve meant in 1950. It was so disgusting. Blood on walls mold everywhere. Faucet not even attached to the sink. I can’t even describe how disturbing this place was. It should be condemned.
So heard this place was a bomb. Honestly I am a value person and to spend 100s for a place to sleep is not my thing. Rather spend the $$ on a cruise for a week.. my room as expected was not the Ritz nor a brand name but the bed which Honestly is the most important to me was as comfortable as a Ritz. The ac was to cold lol. . Rest of room was outdated but I expected it. And free parking across the street from beach..well thats a bonus. I will return
This vintage propertys oceanfront location may seem like its greatest feature, but it is not. Its the fantastic service! The front desk staffers are pleasantl and make seamless, attentive service to their guests their priority. Minutes after I reported that the rooms mini fridge was working too well (freezing contents), it was swapped out. The housekeeping department nailed it each day they arrived (available daily)! I was happy to hear that the hotel is in negotiations with a restaurateur to bring back the food and beverage service they had before.Again, the service at this boutique hotel was premium, and Id be remiss if I failed to mention Lavonda, whose front desk service was the best ever! Stay a day, stay a week; you will enjoy your time at Sea Club Resort!
When booking I knew it was an old hotel, the on line pictures are deceiving as it looked clean.. Stayed 1 night to be close to the airport & a last walk on the beach. The front desk people were very nice & I was able to get an early check in on a Thursday. The lobby & whole hotel is dated, worn out & either needs a complete remodel or demolition. The pool looked decent though I didnt use it, chairs looked old. Unfortunately the room was so awful I almost checked out & left. Room service was just finishing changing & making the beds so I did see they were clean sheets. That is the only thing I liked about the room, sheets & towels were soft. The carpets are filthy looking, paint chipping. Looked like the bathroom walls & fixtures had been at one time painted over & now peeling. The location is great right across the street from the beach but that is the only good thing. Not worth staying here. The walls are very thin & the next room had tv on loud & late. You can also hear all the noise of people walking late at night going to their rooms.
OK I see all the less than reviews. I myself found it clean. Very friendly. The pool was very clean, slightly chilly until you get used to it, it was nice. I like the mirrors in the rooms. The beds were clean and comfortable. The showers didnt have great pressure. The plug outlets could use updating. But over all great price for the location. I did not see any bugs. Thats always a fear for me and this is our second trip staying here.
We are not fancy people and to complain about a stay is not something I have ever done before, but this was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. I have never posted a review and just feel that this needs to be said to prevent others from the experience we had. The pictures are not what you get. We didnt even want to crawl into the beds nor take a shower in the disgusting bathroom. Glad we only stayed 1 night to be closer to the airport after staying in Sunny Isle for the week. 175.00 for this room is highway robbery. Restaurant and bar were closed and the whole place smelled horrible. The TV didnt work so they had to call the maintenance man to come fix the cables. Not to mention there was not an outlet available close to the beds, for my husband to plug in his CPAP machine, thus not approved for medical assistive devices so I stayed awake all night to make sure my husband kept breathing. The walls are so thin, while I sat there awake, I could hear every single word the neighbors were talking about like they were in the room with me. Daughter was annoyed by this and couldnt sleep.
We came to Sea Club Resort for a trip to Florida and were expecting something good. We had a room towards the corner of the hotel which took a while to reach there. The moment we entered the room we tried to turn on the lights and it would not work. We had to call room service to make the lights work. There was a rusty colored dust in all the corners of the room. The bathroom curtains were rotting and was disgusting. The balcony faced another building with a tree in between it which was not a very good view. The area was a very good place with a beach in front of the hotel and restaurants and shops nearby which was very good. We called room service for fresh towels over 4 times and did not get it until the last attempt. The janitors did not move at all and stayed in 2 different rooms the whole time. Overall I would only recommend this hotel if you are looking for something very cheap and looking forward to only sleeping here.
I recently stayed at Ses Club Resort, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the appealing portrayal on the website, the reality was quite different.Upon arrival, I was dismayed to find the hotel in a state of disrepair. The room I was provided with was not only dirty and old, but it also exhibited numerous issues. The walls and ceiling were stained, giving the impression of neglect. The bathroom was particularly unsanitary, with visible dirt and cockroaches scuttling about. The carpet emitted a foul odor and was visibly soiled, making it unpleasant to walk on. The lamps were stained, and the overall ambiance was dark and gloomy, exacerbated by the presence of broken curtains. To add to the disappointment, despite paying for a stay from Friday to Sunday, I was forced to check out early today. The conditions were so intolerable that neither I nor my family could bear another night there. We were so disgusted by the state of the place that we couldn’t even bring ourselves to use the shower.Overall, my stay at [Hotel Name] was highly disappointing. I expected a comfortable and inviting environment based on the website’s portrayal, but instead, I encountered a rundown and unhygienic establishment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant accommodation experience.
Okay this is gonna be long.. But I think it’s worth the read.Pros: *Clean comfy beds *No bugs in room *GREAT A/C. *All the staff were kind! *You can stream and download apps on the TV! *Great location, walkable. The pool and decor in the lobby was beautiful and so was the view from the upper deck area, there’s even a little shop connected to the lobby that sell drinks, candy and general things, I got a magarita there and it was pretty good!Cons (or more so a detailed list of things to be aware of): *The hotel rooms are definitely run down, needs an update + facelift (paint is peeling & discolored, lots of rusted spots all over the room, carpet is stained, tables & chairs were old & dented etc) but you get what you pay for so I didn’t expect much. *Parking Lot is in the back of the building so you can not see your vehicle from your room and depending on your location it’s quite a walk to & from. The lot is tight and small, it’s not secured but they have security walking around at night *From what I can tell all of the rooms are side facing (no ocean facing view) but you can see the beach depending on where you’re located and the beach is literally across the street. *My first room (#223) location was terrible; it was stuffy, the bathroom was this icky yellow color and it had a weird smell, it was on the “inside” of the hotel; the hall is extremely hollow so you can hear everything as people walk through (this is the main hall from the parking lot so I’m sure it’s quite busy), whereas my second room (#208) was on the outside of the hotel; over the pool (hope this makes sense, I’ve attached photos) and it was quiet on that side. *I had to move rooms like 2.5x due to issues above and others such as safety (*there was a weird issue with the lock “sticking” so there was a full 24 hrs that my door was able to be pushed open from the outside w/o a key card and I had no idea, I’d left my room several times and did not know it was unlocked the entire time. Maintenance came quickly to assess the issue and we resolved it together, during this time I was given an upgraded room (this is room #3, #210) but after resolving the issue w/ the door I decided to move back to the 2nd room since overall nothing was taken/stolen, I slept peacefully, they have security + CCTV and the area itself is pretty safe/quiet so I felt I was okay to stay there). *Signal failures/Dead Zones: my phones nor tv could get service in my first room (#223) because of the location. These issues went away once I changed rooms. *The TVs have maybe 25 channels and of those 25 only about 12 work or have sound but they do have streaming options! *There’s a $2-$3 daily fee for something I forgot, but yeah there’s that, do what you will with that information. *I was unaware of the $100 deposit but not shocked as this is basic for most hotels *I was aware there wasn’t a microwave in room but I was hoping there was a communal one on property, there is not, but you can rent one for a one time fee of $20 (there was one in the upgraded room, but I didn’t necessarily need the microwave and there’s a 7/11 less than 5-7 mins away by car.)My least favorite things at this hotel were the bathrooms they were very run down and uncomfortable to use for that reason. The lack of outlets in the room, trying to charge anything besides your phone will be a hassle and you better hope to have a room where the outlet is near the bed. All 3 rooms I visited during my stay had about 2-3 usable outlets but most were not conveniently located/places. I traveled alone so luckily I didn’t have much of an issue w/ that.OVERALL: This place was a decent stay for me minus the hiccups. It has potential to be great if they really put some effort into a make over. I didn’t come into it with big expectations nor did I intend on being in my room the whole trip. I read the reviews. I’d probably book again but short stays only. I chose it for the location & price. If you’re looking for luxury keep it moving, but if you need a decent place to lay your head for cheap, near the beach YES!
We had a very enjoyable stay. Excellent location. The reviews made me hesitant to book, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was as clean as any mid-century Fort Lauderdale hotel that I have ever stayed in. The beds were comfy. The hotel was quiet. Proximity to beach was the best you’ll get at this price. Wifi in our upper room wasn’t good, but I’m sensitive to EMF and I’d rather not be exposed to “good” wifi while sleeping. The front desk lady ,Tania, was excellent. She provided us with advice on local restaurants and attractions. She had coupons for many activities. The TV worked perfectly and the bathroom worked perfectly. Our view of the sunrise over the beach and view of the pool was lovely. We would gladly stay there again. If you are okay with a classic Florida hotel, you will be fine with this hotel.
Me and a couple buddies stayed here for spring break. First thing we did was check in at the hotel and the front desk lady was very rude and not professional at all. I’ve been to tons of hotels over my years and this lady was the worst service I have ever received. We also had problems with our keys and not being able to get into our room and she continued to bash us for being irresponsible with our keys.Location was nice, in front of beach, and a lot to do around.Rooms were decent. Room service was very nice and the workers are very giving and helpful.
I was very wary of staying here based on all the negative reviews, but honestly it was totally acceptable. I saw no bugs, which was my biggest concern. The hallways and lobby and elevator are old and dingy, but my room (514) was fine. Some chipped paint and furniture, no drain in the sink, the shower curtain rod needed repair, but it was quiet and clean and everything worked. The pool area was decent, with excellent ice machines and free towels. The free parking, no resort fee, and location right across the beach and walking distance from nightlife places are all pluses. I would recomend it if youre not planning to spend alot of time in the hotel and not looking for new luxury amenities.
Juan was such a pleasant person to work with. Upon arrival which was 130 in the morning he greeted us with cheer. He went above and beyond making sure the room was perfect for our stay as well as safe. Thank you Juan as you made our stay memorable and we appreciate you
This “Resort” was absolutely atrocious. We went in January of 2024 and I will not be going back. The second day of our stay we woke up to roaches in our bathroom and one in our bed. When the situation was informed to the front desk they were not surprised at all about the situation. They then said they would call us later that day at 1pm to get us a different room (not that it mattered because if roaches are in one room they are going to be in all) and never called. On top of have bugs the cleaners never once can to our room during the day to pick up or clean our room. They were sure to rush us out of our room when it came to checkout day. The lady that works at the front desk was condescending and rude.
Stayed for 2nights. Rooms were ok. Service was good! Love how close it is from the beach and the price for the room was worth it. If I ever come back to ft Lauderdale I will come to this hotel
HOLY HELL BY FAR THE WORST MOTEL I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE got there in a rush had to leave to go meet family came back around 1am and found a roach sorting threw my clothes we were woken up in the middle of the night to one roach stealing my wallet the other walking out the door with my suitcase. Got up in the morning to eat my leftover breakfast and found a piece of extra Krispy chicken cooking on the lights fixture
Restaurant and bar is NOT operating as of 2/13/24. Pool is NOT heated as mentioned in the hotel amenities. Way smaller than the photos. Staff service is ok. They will charge your for just about anything extra you may need - even use for a microwave. (Which are not in the rooms.) Location is the highlight of this venue. Across from the beach and an AMAZING coffee/bakery shop less than a block away.
Location is good and thats about it. It is an older place, and it is just run down. Most of the electrical outlets in the room do not work and the ones that do shoot fire out when you plug up anything. The shower is extremely low pressure with very little hot water and the toilets barely flush. They charge you a daily safe fee and you probably need it. The parking lot isnt big enough for all the guest and I do not recommend you staying here unless you just have to. We also smelled weed in our room daily as mentioned in other reviews. We did not see the bugs that others speak of. Also, if you stay near room 307 the people that live in that room do not shut up all night and they dont care who they are bothering. The lobby area smells like rotten eggs. We stayed 4 days and survived and some of the stuff we seen gave us some great comic relief. Also, the AC doesnt really cool the room, and this wasnt during the heat of summer. We did not use room service, because we didnt want them in our room.
Only good thing is the location. Unfortunately the most recent reviews dropped it to a 2.1 rating that I saw on our way there. When the woman at the desk heard my husband asking people if they had been up to their room and is it as bad as the ratings said, were offered money back if we chose not to stay, but decided to stick it out for the 2 days. The bed was clean, the water was hot, TV was great, but everything else is seriously out of date and dismal. The restaurant they advertise hasnt been open since 2021. The bar is a window outside connected to the boutique that you cant go into, you just purchased through that window. For what I paid ($258), was really disappointed!! Live and learn...
Walking into this 1951 hotel, which is the age of this hotel, its dated as expected, but Im glad I booked this it was like a walk back in time, my second room was not ready until after 4. The carpet was filthy, I mean, keep flip-flops on at all times, filthy! The bed was very clean, and the bathroom had many more opportunities as far as cleanliness is concerned. The shower tiles could use a bit more attention, I did do a soap and bleach wipe down and lysol the entire room (my travel routine). The parking lot is tight, but its free. There were no bugs! Other than being a 75-year-old hotel, it fair nicely.
Thais is an old hotel with dirty rooms in a good location. I wasn’t satisfied with my experience staying here. I booked this hotel online and arrived around noon, but my room wasn’t ready yet, so the concierge let me store my luggage with them until it was. This hotel is a little dated inside, and the lobby had a beautiful 70s style design. There’s a ramp leading up from the lobby to the hotel’s onsite restaurant and bar, but it’s closed due to construction. The room I stayed in had two comfortable beds and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The room was a little old, but it was good enough for me. However, that changed after I noticed how dirty the room’s carpet was. There was so much dirt on the carpet that it left large black spots on my white socks, and it blackened the soles of my feet too. The bathroom was also quite small. I gave this hotel two two stars because it’s in a good location, but its rooms aren’t clean. I would’ve given this hotel four or five stars if it wasn’t for its disgusting carpet that was dirty enough to blacken my feet.
Pros: Great location, within walking distance to beach, restaraunts, and museums, friendly staff, and decent pool area.Pro: Absolutely disgusting, smelly, outdated rooms. There were roaches under the fridge. I was in a room, where the smell was stomach churning, I was moved to another room, where the patio door would not completely close, or open, the carpet was filthy, and roaches were under the fridge, and in the door lock. The entire hotel is outdated, and in need of repair, and the restaurant is closed. Not that I would eat there with Roaches in the door knob. This entire hotel should be demolished.
This place is called a resort but its literally a motel. Room was extremely run down and oudated, no maintenance or up keep has been done. Sink was cracking away from wall, bathroom was gross, beds were uncomfortable and blankets were stained. Pictures online when I booked are very deceiving. Its a dive and would never stay here again or recommend. Only plus side to this place is the location.
I visited this establishment in January 2024 and demanded a refund this MOTEL doesnt even belong on that strip. The workers were rude the elevator was broken the bathroom wasnt clean the toilet wasnt even flushed so I KNOW the sheets werent changed. PLEASE DO NOT waste your money nor time booking with these ppl you will be extremely disappointed! I refused to let my kids sleep in an unsanitary place like this! The Atlantic Hotel and Spa located directly across the street is where you wanna be if you want a pleasant hotel stay!
Steer clear from this place. We found a pair a tennis shoes, a pair of pants and so much filth in the room. The walls were covered in dust. The overal conditions of the building were so poor. Photos of this property are not accurate at all.We tried to request a new, cleaner room but they were not able to accommodate us. We left and were left to scramble to find a hotel late at night.
Hotel is in a great location next to restaurants, and half a second walk across the street to the beach. the room we stayed in had an amazing view. I gave it 2 stars because the rooms are really outdated and need to be redone asap. the water in the shower was barely warm, more chilled than warm. we didn’t see any bugs like the other reviews and our sheets were clean. the people working in the hotel were also a little odd. the lady at the front when we checked in was friendly but other then her the rest of the staff didn’t smile, didn’t talk to you in the hallways just stared at you as you walked past. we won’t be staying here again but for the price and a short stay it was fine.
Title: Disappointing Experience at Sea Club ResortI recently stayed at the Sea Club Resort for three nights, and unfortunately, my overall experience was far from satisfactory.Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that the staff was rather standoffish. Their lack of warmth and hospitality left much to be desired. The reception counter was cluttered with a stack of papers, hinting at a disorganized management system. It became apparent that the hotel lacked a proper reservation system, leading to concerns about the efficiency of their operations.Entering the room, I was greeted by an unpleasant odor reminiscent of a gym locker room on Skid Row. The lack of attention to cleanliness was further emphasized by the presence of garbage, including a banana peel, right outside my door. A glaring hole in the wall, hastily plugged with toilet paper, added to the list of disappointments. Moreover, the room lacked basic maintenance, with chipped paint evident on all bathroom fixtures. The bath failed to drain properly, and the absence of daily hotel service meant I had to endure the same towels and sheets for the entire duration of my stay.Contrary to the images presented on the hotels website, the reality of Sea Club Resort fell far short of expectations. The beach location was indeed a redeeming factor, but it hardly compensated for the numerous shortcomings.Attempting to work remotely during the day was a struggle due to the abysmal internet connection, which averaged a mere 2.73 mbps download and frequently dropped off. To make matters worse, the only available power outlet was inconveniently located in the bathroom, severely limiting my ability to work comfortably. In conclusion, while the Sea Club Resort boasts a good beach location, the overall experience was marred by unprofessional staff, subpar cleanliness, maintenance issues, and misleading website images. I would strongly advise potential guests to consider alternative accommodations for a more pleasant stay.
I have reserved a room in this place on booking dot com and the rating of this hotel was 5-star. After reservation I found 1-star rating of this place on google and bunch of bad reviews. Finally in this place I found nice old stylish motel in 50 m from the shore. Couple of nice girls helped us to check in. The room was clean with two queen size beds. There was no any bad smells. Of course the hotel is pretty old and needs a little renovation but it is not ugly and not as bad as I read in reviews on google.Simple, cheap place to stay for a night.
What I like most about this hotel is the location and the price. The beach ia right across the street. Compared to similar properties in the area the Sea Club offers the best rates.
The location of this place is great. BUT that’s all. The rooms are dark only 1 working lamp and the wattage is probably 30 so you really can’t see the actual condition. No outlet in the room other than for the TV and Fridge..The pool was nice and clean every morning, but the pool area was filthy. Cigarette cartons and cigarette butts littered all over the pool area plus trash and food. When I commented to another guest why the area wasn’t clean, he told me the homeless come in at night. The cigarette and trash are there’s not the guest ..There were entirely too many vagrants hanging around in the parking lot daily, it didn’t make for a comfortable stay. The hallway smelled of strong urine. I couldn’t understand how housekeeping walked through the halls daily and that urine smell was never addressed. I’ve stayed 1 night before and although not a 5 star hotel the location was perfect. This time we stayed 7 days and got to see what really is going on.
Horrible horrible horrible. The receptionist RAY black guy with short dreads was the absolute WORSE he had an attitude and all I did was tell him I was locked out of my room! Wow it was unbelievable then he called his manager even though I never asked for it, and the manager was also very rude but not as rude as RAY. Beware. Good location. But the rooms are disgusting it smells horrible and the carpets are sooooo gross!!!! good location to the beach if your staying for like one or two days but more than that don’t do it
DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE! This place is absolutely disgusting. The entire place smells like a skunk mixed with garbage. They do laundry in the parking garage. The rooms have stains all over the doors and walls. Washrooms are unsanitary, someone had left urine in the toilet and pubic hair. No soap. Stains on the bed. Place was out of a cops episode. The woman at the front desk was rude. We didn’t stay, when we told her we were leaving she didn’t care and offered no refund. We went and stayed at a Marriott. Avoid this place at all costs!
Took my Mom here for her 80th just march 31st to april 2nd..There was no bar or resteraunt which they said was there i paid 356.83 and really dissapointed need a half refund and id feel better but im sure that will not happen
Location location location, front desk team was on point. Hotel is old but you pay for what you get and appreciate the positives. Bring sanitizers.
Hotel is ok good location if you want to be right in front of the beach but the service is terrible and they don’t tell you that you have to pay $4.50 for the safe in the room even if you don’t use the safe you will be charged that rooms are old internet sucks on the 5th floor
If I could give this hotel no stars I would! The website is totally false advertising. There is not bar and restaurant open overlooking the ocean. The rooms were disgusting, outdated and dirty! The staff was very rude from the cleaning people to the front desk staff. The beach chairs that you have for free for the duration are not the ones they show on the website. The blue ones they advertise you have to pay for on the beach. The only good thing about this place is it is directly across from the ocean.
This place isn’t what we expected not at all. That’s all imma say! Just believe all the 1-2 star reviews not the 5 if you see any that’s probably from a staff lol it’s horrible smelling and looking
We booked before reading reviews and were terrified to arrive. But heres the thing. You should know from the start like us who paid 470$ for 5 nights that you arent staying at the Ritz. With that being said, this hotel was not that bad. You can not beat the price or location. The staff wasnt out of their way upbeat and friendly but they did their job. The restaurant had just closed down, but there is plenty of food options around, the pool was amazing and clean. The hotel room is a little out dated, but bed were comfy TV worked, small fridge in room no microwave. We brought our own sheets and blankets and glad we did as their was stains on our sheets. You could tell the sheets were washed though, just stained. The toilet had a hard time flushing but after a couple times would go down. We wore our shoes inside walking on the carpet bc it felt a little gross like the carpet held years of people coming in from the pool and beach. The AC in the room worked fabulous.they give you a parking pass and you are charged daily for it like 3$. Parking is right behind the hotel. They do require a 100$ deposit on your card or a $300 deposit of cash when you arrive. I was told that the 100$ would go directly back on my card, we checked out Monday and its Wednesday and I havent gotten it yet so that is the worst thing about my experience. All in all I would stay here again as we had great beach access, clean pool, shelter and air conditioning, running water, a bed to lay our heads, and a mini fridge to keep drinks cold.* If you are bougie this is prob not the place for you* side note Grateful Juice is directly behind hotel and has the best fresh pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls.
This review makes me so sad because I was so excited to stay here! The location of this hotel is awesome, however, this hotel is poorly managed and upkept! The hallways smelled like Urine, which transferred slightly to the rooms, there was hair from the previous guests in the shower and in the sink, and the sink didnt drain properly like the sink would fill up with water when just washing your hands! The shower and shower curtain were covered in mold, and we had cockroaches in our room which I understand its Florida so the Roaches are normal but German roaches are never a good thing! This hotel needs a fresh remodel, and a better training of staff for me to even think about coming here again! Some of the front desk staff was nice! The manager was really slow though
For the price you can’t beat the location. Hotel is what’s expected for the price, do not expect a $150 room at a $70 hotel. Checked out on the 21, I think the friendly girl at the front desk is Rebecca, sorry if I’m wrong. She was wonderful, understanding and always smiling. She’s a great asset
I would never stay here again. First impressions was trying to check in and being told Its the end of my shift and I dont know where my replacement is, but my ride is outside so I got to go! So waited forever to get checked in... once Im the room... it was disturbing. There was what looked like black mold around the door. The sheets had stains all over them. The purple pillows had white stains crusted on them. The shower head was falling off... had to hold it in place to work. The bathroom door didnt shut. The water was yellow. So gross.
I don’t even know where to start. I had to charge my phone in the bathroom. The plugs didn’t work. The hotel smelled like a weed pot. Like they were cooking it. The walls are dirty and the beds are so used there is a huge hole in the middle. I like the location but I rather pay more for a better room
When we arrived we were quickly checked in by the hostess. Our rooms were very clean and did not smell like rotten eggs. The water pressure was great and it was crystal clear. Sometimes the room will randomly smell like sewer water but that goes away after a few hours. The service was great. They bring clean towels up every morning and change your sheets. We all got a good pump in the gym, it has a lot of good machines. The mice and the roaches keep you company and eat all the garbage off the floor. We came back one night and some strange man was in our bathroom. At first we were alarmed but after talking to him he was very nice so we let him stay. We let him watch our kids while we went out at night and he didn’t disappoint. In all of my years of travel this is the finest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Highly Recommend!!!
Zero Stars! Do not stay here. We were in town for one night for an event and randomly booked at this place because it is on A1A with a view The rooms are terrible. Not clean. The bathroom sink was falling off the wall. The vent was covered with what appears to be dust, dirt and mold. The walls are covered with stains. Behind the door locks like smeared blood on the floor. The place smells like mold. The halls and elevator are also disgusting. The staff couldnt care less. Two ladies at the front desk were rude. The maintenance guy was standing there when we told them how terrible the room was. He said- thats housekeeping. Okay well have the maid go reattach the sink. Lazy. They tell you your key gets you in the door by the parking lot. It didnt. They also charge an extra $100 at check in and she said they take 3-7 days to release it. Who ever runs this resort should be fired.
Wow what can I really say about this place just sell the place to someone who wants to invest and restore it or just knock it down the place is run down dirty worst then a crack motel I had to wait for my room cause it was dirty and guess what it was still dirty when I came in carpet is nasty microwave is $20 bucks to use it’s like how are they still renting rooms for 170 a night I don’t understand it’s not a resort at all it’s more like motel 6 on crack only thing nice is the location and it’s got bed bugs 🤮
This place needs to be burned to the ground. We checked into our room and it smelled like mold. The bathrooms are NASTY. I went down to the front desk and told them the situation with our room and the guy at the front desk was nice and helpful. I got my room switched and the 2nd room was WORST than the first room we were in. Water was dripping from the ceiling. The carpet was so dirty you didnt even want to take your shoes off. And if that wasnt enough, they also had Roaches.... Yes Roaches. We didnt even unpack, I grabbed our bags and left. They gave us a full refund. This place needs to be demolished and they need to start over. Whoever owns this place, you should be Ashamed and Embarrassed to even rent rooms to people. Please stay away, its not worth it.
The only pros of this location are the price for the location but the cons really outweigh the good at this hotel. We got a deluxe suite with a balcony for 2 nights. The balcony had loose railings so we could of fell off if we weren’t careful, the mold was obvious and effected my allergies after the first night, there were dead and dying roaches in our room, some of the staff have horrible attitudes. I could probably go on and on but this place probably needs to be leveled and rebuilt. We came back in 2015 and not much has changed. I only recommend this hotel for people on a budget who don’t plan on staying in the room much, one or two nights max.
The location is perfect, but as soon as you walk in the hallway going towards the room, its smell is so bad. Everything is dirty plus hairs all over the bed plus bugs. The front desk moved us to a different floor, but if only we can refund the money I will just cancel this. This place doesnt deserve a star at all.
DO NOT STAY HERE!! The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.Air conditioner was broken. When we asked them to help or change rooms they just shrugged and said sorry, there was nothing they could do. It smells like urine. The carpets are so dirty and stained. The doors won’t close. Key cards don’t work. Door knobs broken and bashed in. The bathroom toilet stained brown. Shower had soap and splashes in it and was not cleaned. Thin sheets that are stained and uncomfortable. Elevator is slow and barely works with holes you can see out of and into the walls. Walls were cracked. Water was yellow coming out of the taps. The ceilings are stained and falling apart. This place should be condemned. Fire alarm was taped together with scotch tape. Left at 1AM to the hotel next door because we couldn’t even stay here.
This place is horrible do not book. There was bugs in the room on the bed and they don’t refund your money when you leave. The hotel beside the place is way nicer save your money
My car got broken into while inside the hotel garage parking which I had a sign for. I made a police report and of the valuables taken. This has been the WORST hotel experience I’ve ever had. The service was absolutely horrible, reception people were slow and inattentive and rude. Room had roaches and sticky carpets, loud music, thin walls this was a horrendous experience. We had 2 nights but only stayed for that 1 night and left to stay at the Conrad.
The Sea Club Resort deserves NO STAR at all!!! Dont stay here at all cost. We got in late about 1A.M. because our flight was delayed. Went into the room to find out its worst then Motel 6. The sheets were dirty, pull out couch had crumbs all over, bathroom is old and broken down, the curtains are not able to close all the way and the people who walk pass your room can see inside, and people were so loud until 4am. The front desk receptionist there was disrespectful and had an attitude right from the start. We originally booked for two nights but only stayed for one. After one hour into our room, I asked the receptionist to give our refund back because of all the stuffs above and he said since we were already in the room for one hour he can not give us a refund, he can only gives us a refund if its 30 minutes or less (so ask for you refund ASAP). We still got charged for both nights, I had to call the 2nd time to get my one night refund back (the Motel will not give us 2 nights refund). Granted it was Spring break week too, but if the room was not so filthy and dirty I would have not put my complaint here. Not recommend for family or family with kids.
My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The rooms were outdated and unclean, which was disheartening. However, the most frustrating part was the manager and staff. Despite a confirmed extended checkout time agreed upon over the phone, I was still charged a late fee without any prior notice. The lack of communication and poor service left me with a negative impression. I would strongly advise against staying here.
Awful. Dirty, run down, smells like mold, carpet feels wet from humidity. Everything smells and feels damp. The water has a yellow tint to it. We did not drink the water from this hotel. The AC was not functioning super well. It was disgusting all around. Husband made a reservation through another site that rated this as 3 stars! No. It should be zero stars. The pictures online are misleading. If I could give this hotel a worse rating, I would. The parking lot was a joke. Everyone parked wherever they could squeeze in so finding your way through the lot was an exercise in caution and complete uncertainty as to where to park. The back door slams shut and keeps you awake all night. The curtains are dingy and gross.Everything about this place is just dirty and run down. It should be shut down for multiple health violations. There should be a minimum standard for cleanliness that is upheld. Nobody wants to breathe in mold.Looks like there is a restaurant attached to this hotel. I would not eat there based on what I saw at this hotel. If their establishment is that dirty, imagine how the food may be prepared? We planned to stay 4 nights. We ended up leaving after the first night and going to a clean hotel.
We are so grateful to the hospitality, professionalism and friendliness beginning with the front desk reception then, followed by housekeeping and support staff. What a charming old-world gem on Fort Lauderdale Beach. We highly recommend this hotel to those who seek beach charm and a lovely staff.
Worse place ever. They take And keep a copy of CC & DL and keep it on file till you leave. You have to fight tooth and nail to get your private info back. Staff RUDE from the front desk staff to security to room service. There was not one nice person I met at this place in 4 days. Rooms I killed 5 roaches in one night and was told it’s like that in every room. Not secure at all has random ppl walking up and down the hallway.Only thing good cheap, free parking, all my GSDs can stay, and across the street from beachYou get what you pay for. DONT EXPECT MUCH FOR YOUR MONEY.
I am not sure where to start with this review to be honest. Probably the single most worst experience Ive ever had at a hotel. The room (412) was extremely gross. So much that my wife and I didnt feel comfortable even going in the bathroom, let alone use it to shower in. The bathroom smelled like straight up urine. Like someone peed in the vents and the smell is blasted everywhere. The closest thing I can describe is the smell of a state park bathroom/shower house. There is dirt and mold everywhere and visible blood stains in the carpet.
If I could rate it zero stars, I would. This place is disgusting. DO NOT TRUST THE ROOM PHOTOS! The rooms are dirty and damage is allover. They couldnt even bother to try to make it look as nice as the photos. The linens are stained in so many places. Carpet is disgusting. The remote was caked with something. They do not have free parking. Its $2 something per day, FYI. Really, theres nothing good about this place, and Id leave if I wasnt so tired after a 13 hr. drive.
For the price and location, you’re not going to beat this place. It’s not the cleanest but I’m fine with wearing my sandals everywhere inside. The pool is not bad at all. Staff isn’t really pleasant, but helpful. Some kind of mold I breathed while staying here has left me ill. They need to do something about the cleanliness of this place.
Words cannot fully express the horror that is the Sea Club Resort. I honestly did not know that hotels this dirty and unsanitary actually existed: Our room had not been cleaned since COVID had shut the world down. I asked for a refund and was told no, I asked for new bed linens… but they were also not available. They reluctantly provided a different room which was slightly better. I slept there…and I left. This is not just a matter of upgrades… this place is filthy to the point that someone may eventually become sick because of it. Anyone thinking of going because it is beachfront:… please reconsider your options. See the pictures below although they only capture part of it.
Shocked by the filth and condition of this property. Here are photos of my stay checking Feb 13The Rope like Carpet up the ramp was crazy dirty upon arrival at about noon. The hallway carpet as well as the bedroom carpet were covered in stains and dirt. The bedroom was just filthy and needs to be replaced, as a minimum a deep cleaning with multiple rinses. There is no reason for having dirty feet in the morning after an evening shower.Toilet seat was fasteners were broken and would not stay flat sliding off.Hole in bathroom door, towel rack placed over the TP was a new thing.!!!!!! Mold!!!!!! Air-conditioner. The smell from the AC unit along with the black material as seen in the photos suggests black mold and is a potential health violation.Bedroom light was broken and not working. Actually unplugged.Overall I wouldnt encourage a stay unless being on a tight budget were your thing.P. S. I generally bring these issues up with the front desk, yet when I did they personal sort of shrugged it off.
This place has potential but I think the management stingy my room the carpet was wet the humidity was horrible. It smelled like a wet bog in that place. The lady at front desk was very nice the location is great the food was good but the building needs a paint job and the hotel is near the beach so remove the carpet and put tails or wood but the carpet is a no no the sheets where dirty the room needed vacuum there was paper under the dresser. I stayed at 522 the carpet was wet and horrible check out Sunday morning if the management fix the thing that are wrong that place could be a 4 or 5 star
The location is the best part of this place. If I was the owner I would take some of the money that they get and do some updates to the rooms. Little out dated unless that what they was going for. Some of the rooms have small little balcony which is nice to sit out on. The restaurant they have, had good amount people inside at the time I was there. There is a smell inside though needs go kinda smells like somethings was wet for long time. Would I stay again yes for the beach
Incredibly dirty, smelled like urine in the hallway and the room didn’t smell much better, we found ants in the bathroom and in the bed. There was no microwave (inconvenient) and the tv remote did not work (this probably could’ve been fixed by asking the front desk, but at that point I was over it). Most of the staff were friendly but, I’m sorry, I’m not there to talk or stay with them (of course friendly staff is great!), I’m there to be able to bathe and sleep in PEACE. Feeling dirty and grimy did not make my stay peaceful at all. Thankfully, we were only there for one very short night, but I will definitely not be staying there again, regardless of the amount of time I’m there.
Pictures online are probably 30 yrs old. There is a public bathroom toilet and no kitchenette like photos promised. 1 usable outlet in the room. TV is on the wall but they expect you to use your own app logins. Nothing for local or even satellite TV coverage. Carpets dirty and stained. Air conditioner stuck on 64. Only saving grace is the night staff at the front desk. The day staff is horrible but the people at night are amazing.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I had to move rooms because there was black mold on the shower curtain but the new room also had mold. The tub doesnt drain, it smells like mildew, there was a cockroach!!! For 5 nights it was 1,000. For how low quality this place is the price should be lower. I might go to a different hotel before the 5 nights are over.
WARNING!!! Do not ruin your vacation! Find another hotel. There are some affordably priced ones only a couple blocks farther from the beach that are clean and comfortable. We booked this hotel for a girls trip. It looked ok from the outside and lobby. Thank God our kids weren’t with! It was so nasty that we couldn’t even stay one night. We tried! Even tried 2 different rooms. 1st room had only one good thing going and that was the view. The halls and both rooms stank. If it wasn’t mildew or sewer it was weed. There was blood stains and hair on sheets, the curtains were off their runner partly and stained. We found a dead bug that resembled a bed bug when my friend took the dirty runner off the bed. I went to use the phone to call desk and it didn’t work. They gave us a different room. WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT RIGHT THEN INSTEAD. 2nd room had an awful view but seemed cleaner so we thought we’d stay until we noticed more after coming back from the beach. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly, toilet didn’t flush well and would back up, there was a dirty cup under night stand, bugs/ants?? on counter and window sill, stains on mattress protector, TV/Wi-Fi didn’t work, and as we were talking about how we wondered when, who and how well this place has been inspected, my friend kills a cockroach that came out to say hello. Found another in the bathroom right after. That was it! We couldn’t sleep there. We would have rather slept outside than to stay there. The staff at the desk were ok but this hotel seems to have very poor management and not sure if the owner cares what happens to this place. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s shut down and demolished soon. I usually don’t write much for reviews if any at all but Im hoping I can help save someone from making the same mistake we did because we wanted to save some money. Especially anyone thinking about bringing their kids here. DON’T DO IT! 😖🤢
Best thing about this place is that it is located directly across the road from the beach. The restaurant on site had good food but extremely over priced and they automatically included 18% gratuity. Although, they did have live music in the evening.Customer service was good. Now as for the WORST things is the bathroom in the suite. It needs a complete overhaul. It was actually really nasty. There wasnt even the overflow cap in the tub. It was just a hole. And, the tub was peeling. The curtain had black mold on it and had not been washed in forever. The bed was comfortable but the window leaked during the rain. All in all, you get what you paid for. Will we be staying there again? Definitely not.
It was very dated and pretty run down. Its a cheap budget hotel right off A1A, so the location is great, but nothing else.Great place to get a room to do a beach day and be able to park and shower after the beach and then go home.Staff (minus housekeeping) is very friendly and accommodating with what they have to work with.
Only reason I rate a 1 is because the lady at the desk was very nice and helped us switch rooms, and If your on a budget and just need a quick place to stay close to the beach then this is okay.Best thing about the place was the pool. But the pictures do not match, the place is very old and outdated. The chairs in the room have literally chipped off and are hanging on by a thread. Half the lights in my first room did not work. Was told we might have to pay a cleaning fee for a room that was barely cleaned when we arrived and did not have working lights or electronics. Theres dust and mold everywhere. Paint in the bathtub is chipping everywhere. The bed felt skeevy. Had no other options so had to stay, but this place needs a serious update and they need to put real pictures online.
Hotel very run down. Horrible smell room was dirty and the bathroom was full of baby roaches on top of having black mold and the ceiling falling down. The staff was nice but did not clean our room did not bring clean towels and I had to go ask for a trash bag and change my own trash. Horrible place to stay. The only good thing about this place was being close to the beach. The website definitely is misleading to say the least. My daughter and I felt so dirty being in the room and was afraid to shower while we were there. Please do not believe their website. This place should be shut down ASAP!!!
The bad... The hotel is pretty run down and dated. The hallways are more like dark dingy dungeons. We saw housekeeping setting playing on their phones most of the time. I think only one worked regularly. There was a band aid (among much other dirt and debris) on the main hallway. 7 days later, it was still there. A little cleaning, some paint and better lighting would be an enormous improvement. Now for the good. As dirty and dingy as the hallway was, the rooms are actually fairly decent. The hotel wasnt great, more like acceptable/reasonable. You have to consider the location and the price though. We stayed at this hotel for 7 days and were pleasantly surprised. The cost for staying at this place was about $500 less than ALL of the other hotels, including very nasty hotels in the Fort Lauderdale area. On top of that, this hotel sits right across the street from the beach. Parking was pretty cramped and hard to find late in the evening but while every other hotel in this area charge as much as $15/night to park your car, this hotel didnt charge anything. They also dont charge a resort fee or other hotel fees. All of those things, drastically make the hotel much more appealing than others. If we get another good deal, we will definitely stay here again.
My wife and I checked in on June 12, 2021 and the room had a musty odor, tv did not work and the sliding door did not lock. It took 3 hours for maintenance to fix the TV and door. Found a dead bug in the room, toilet did not flush properly. Back exit door on our floor was duct taped shut which is a fire hazard. A group of about 8 guests treated the hotel as their private frat house. Nothing was done about it. We checked out two days early and the pictures on the website are not what it really looks like now. Spoke with a couple of employees and asked if the owner ever stopped by and knows the conditions and they said that she comes occasionally in her Bentley or Rolls Royce and is well aware of the bad reviews but does not seem to address the issues. I felt bad for the employees because people were calling the front desk complaining. They didnt even have towels when asked. On a positive note, I will say that furniture on the outside deck restaurant was new and nice and the food was good! Stay away from this hotel.....
Absolutely awesome! This resort is literally a time capsule and you should come here expecting an older establishment with extraordinary flair. The location is unimaginably great, directly across the street from the beach. There are many restaurants and bars nearby, as a matter fact, there’s a bar right here in this resort! And guess what? The place is hoppin every weekend. The pros: It has a pool, a restaurant, a bar and its across the street from the beach. The cons: Its old, it stinks and its filthy.
This “Resort” is absolutely disgusting. The place is old, run down, everything is broken and they need to hire a new cleaning team. After arriving to the “hotel” we switched rooms because ours had literally a layer of dirt on the walls, the sink was falling out of the wall, carpet stains everywhere, no outlets and I could go on and on. We switched to a different room (after checking every hotel possible to try to switch and no one had availability.) Our new room seemed a bit cleaner (but we knew it wasn’t.) The bathroom was just AWFUL, the toilet was broken more than half the time and we had to work with the front desk FOUR different times during our weekend vacation to handle this situation so we had a working toilet. the front desk people were useless and rude. Anthony was the only one that had a brain or any sympathy for what was going on. I would never recommend this place EVER. The location was fine but I would never say that it made up for the lack of quality and care that IS NOT provided at this place. The front desk didn’t even have waters for sale - it was just absolutely horrible of a stay. Owners need to take a real honest look at making renovations and also updating their listings online. The place is nothing like it is shown online. I would give this review negative stars if I could.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this hotel needs to be shut down. I’m giving this one star but it deserves zero.At arrival, I immediately noticed how hot and humid it was in the lobby. It was cooler outside than it was in the building. There was no obvious parking on the premises. I had to ask the check in staff where I should park and was told there is a small parking lot in the back with a small sign. There weren’t enough spots for the guests and people parked wherever they could. My car ended up getting blocked in so I couldn’t leave for hours until people started moving their cars. When I actually got to my room I saw that they put me in a standard room when I had booked a king suite. The standard room was disgusting. It had peeling paint, mold, the AC didn’t work and neither did the water or tv. The lobby staff was very helpful with the mistake and was able to move me to a king room, but I still did not receive the room I had booked. The king room was a little cleaner, but still had black mold, various stains on the walls, no outlets, the coffee maker was broken, and some of the light fixtures did not have lightbulbs.Do not stay here.
Just awful! Tried to get in touch with owner to no avail. Complained to BBB and of course no responseWe stayed at this property Jan 7-10. We tried to email the property before we stayed to ask for an early check in or if we could leave our luggage for a few hours before check in and we never heard back. We also emailed to ask for a nice king room for my husbands birthday and never heard back. It has come to our attention this property is for sale so perhaps no one cares to respond? We had a challenging stay at this property. It is a scary location. Our bathroom was barely functioning, I have attached video of the bathroom sink and pics of the shower and walls as well as the only shelf that had hair, dirt and peeling paint everywhere. We did have a king room with a table and one scary chair that neither of us would sit in. Lights didnt work and lamps were about to fall over at the bedside. We were afraid to have maid service so we cleaned the room each day ourselves. The help were nice but under a lot of pressure. They seemed to have absolutely no support and no management present at ALL. The restaurant was terrible! Admittedly the bed was fairly comfortable and the A/C did work. The hotel surroundings are dirty, there is trash everywhere including outside guest rooms? This is called a 3 star boutique hotel??? Absolutely not.Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation) Billing adjustment
This place is the worse place to stay in Ft Lauderdale, I would not be surprised if there is an electrical fire there soon. Two rooms we were in electrical socket was defective. There was a clogged toilet along with the shower be dirty with paint peeling off. The Suite is an absolute joke, turn the heater on one night toxic fumes came out, had to leave the door open for 4 hours to clear the smell. I would rather spend the night in a fox hole then to stay here. The pictures on the web sight were taken over 15 years ago. There was a lot of POT smoking there, this hotel is very dirty and the front desk dont care!! They stated nothing will be done!! Do not stay here nothing good at all. The chairs near the pool are all stained, I would rather lay on the ground!!STAY AWAY!!
This place is a health hazard! Too many sanitary issues. Everything was filthy and molded. You could smell the mold everywhere. Nothing worked in the rooms. Changed rooms three times and all of the rooms were the same. There was a cockroach on the bed in one of the rooms. Arrived later at night, stayed the night (tried not to touch anything because we were scared for our health and safety) and left in the morning. Although it is a cheap place, they need to work on the sanitary issues. It was a horrible experience. If I could, I wouldn’t give them even one star!
Lady in the front was a very disrespectful woman I ever meant and she yelled at me and cursed me out and all I wanted was to check in but eventually she apologized and I got checked in and they were giving me and my friends death stares and there was roach on the first day and paint was peeling and very scary overall this place seem to be irresponsible and our keys keep not working and for replacement you will get yelled at and be called an idiot so I would spend my time somewhere else.
We picked this because of price AND location! Right across from the beach. It was very kitschy as it was built in 1959. There was a lot of Rat pack kinda vibes. The rooms and whole place was dated. Our room had one wall that was a giant mirror. Air conditioner leaked. The shower was hot and had good pressure. Balcony looked like it could fall anytime but suited our needs. Pool was great. Go to restaurant on site. Real Italian food prepared by a true Cicillian. The staff were great and helpful.
Nasty. Dirty. Smells bad, specially 4th floor. Walls are dusty and the carpet had to be treated as if it was lava on the ground( we couldn’t walk on it barefooted. Stained bedsheets. Very outdated too. … never again!
So I’m in a room with my girlfriend, and the toilet hasn’t flushed since we got here. For the past 24 hours, we have been assured that it would be fixed and it has not. My girlfriend is now laying in bed, nauseous, because of the smell emanating from the toilet. The maid service saw the problem as well every day and nothing has been done. Imagine going to a hotel room with a port-a-potty and having to shower and brush your teeth in there. The manager has been very patient and nice about everything, can’t say the same for anyone else at the front desk. A young man was very short with my mother because she requested toilet paper considering the maid service didn’t leave her any the day prior. Do. Not. Stay. Here.
This place is very round down, and expensive! It is old, very dirty, towels had multiple stains, the room and bathroom was pretty dirty in general and with some mold. Hallways smelled and it looked like no one had swiped it in months! In general, we didn’t enjoy staying here. The only good thing is that it is on the beach walk.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Our rooms were dirty upon arrival. Sink was falling off the wall, bathtub was not draining, and there was hair from previous people all over the bathroom. The key card constantly failed. COCKROACHES were in our kitchen cabinets and there was still trash from previous people in the room. Front desk was poor service and did not want to help with anything. 0/10 recommended!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE..Unless you dont care about bugs everywhere. Within 5 minutes of being in the room, a roach is running all over the bed. One in the bathroom as well! Ants were crawling on every inch of the mattress and sheets. And parts of the room.Sheets have holes in them. Rooms are run down. Made the mistake of booking the first thing on Hopper and would never again.Completely scarred.
Pictures online were very misleading. The bathroom walls/ ceiling have mold on them, the tub was peeling in paint. The people across the hall from us found a bed bug in their freshly made bed. The back door didnt close all the way allowing anyone to walk right in. The only good thing about the hotel is the location for the beach and the staff were friendly. This place needs to be cleaned and redone asap.
Well, from the moment I went into the lobby, there was that smell. The smell of mildew. The front desk associate was friendly. I walked past 2 younger people under the influence of something. They were drinking an babbling about money and asked what room I was in. I get to the room, and just pushed on the door and it opened. It was not even closed, let alone locked.I walked in and the smell of mildew was very strong. The stains on the doors, walls and broken curtains should have been my sign to go. Well, I walked around to inspect the room to see crushed bugs on the wall and some on the bed sheet. The walls had chipped and peeling paint. Stains of something that looked like cola spray. The carpet was very dirty. The bathroom had missing tiles, chipped paint and spackle of some sort of repair on the ceiling about 4 feet by 3 feet. Mold was all around the vents, tub and sink. The toilet, I wont even tell you about. It took me an hour to go back downstairs to check out. The attendant was nowhere to be found. Serveral people in the lobby waiting. Nobody came down to the lobby for almost 30 minutes. I would not recomend this place to anyone. This is the kind of place you only see in the movies when they are showing the typical roach motel or a place where women of the night come for an hour or so...Stay clear. The pictures they post on line are Nowhere Near The Actual Condition of the hotel.
The worst possible customer service I have ever experienced - Elijah was burning incense at the front desk when I went to check out. He refused to look up from his phone and help me until I basically demanded his attention. Absolutely disgusting attitude.I get that the room was run down and sheets were worn, carpet was dirty, tub was painted and peeling, only two total outlets in room and the bed had a big dip in it - really. But good customer service could have trumped all else - not here! I have requested a call from the manager - nothing.I will pay a little more next time and stay somewhere else!
1. The room smelled horrible.2. I use a PPAP machine and the room smell can’t be removed and had to order new hoses.3. The air conditioner did not work, was replaced twice.4. They never returned the $100 dollar room deposit I gave them.5. The entrance door lock was loose and had to ask to get it fixed.6. I had to pay a tip for maid service7. There was a lack of electrical outlets, only one in the lamp near the bed.8. There was black mold in the bathroom9. The carpet was sticky and had not been replaced for years10. Even thou this is the cheapest hotel on the beach, this is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at!11. Beware
Do yourself a favor and dont come here horrible rooms with roaches everywhere and incredibly dirty rooms, staff members are as apathetic as sloths. Unless you want free protein snacks at night I really urge to not go. In fact I think Id rather switch places with the next homeless person I see. Also you have this architectural genius at the bottom with that electrical outlet. Seriously a pair of monkeys with just hammers can design a better hotel. It has 2.2 stars for a reason.
BUYER BEWARE. This is a tourist trap. Checked in my first night and they didn’t have a working key to get inside. Not even the master key worked. After hours of trying they got me in. The shower wasn’t working and cockroaches roamed the room. I immediately checked out the next morning and have been trying to get a refund for the remaining reservation and they keep giving me the run around. Priceline has been trying to contact them to get a refund but the manager is never there to confirm the refund. This is a trap.
This hotel was far from what I was expecting. The location was not horrible, it was reasonable. The photos posted may be the only renovated room in the entire hotel... this place gives the feeling of a motel. The smell walking into the lobby was uninviting, the counter host had a terrible cologne on, and walking into the room was a horror scene. Mold on the bottom moldings, cracks on the molding, the lighting was poor, the bathroom looked like a scene out of the shining and the room had an strange ODOR. We checked out no more than an hour after checking in. I would only recommend this if your looking for a place to rest your head on a budget and not a experience.
Absolutely disgusting…..i made the mistake of booking my package on Priceline which gave it 3 stars! Are you kidding me?????? We checked out after the first evening. The bathroom was DISGUSTING 🤮 Toilet bowl was the same kind you find in a public restroom. No shower head nor any water pressure. The decor was grotesque. The public restroom was filthy with urine on the rim of the toilet bowl. How does the health dept allow this to stay open? Staff was very friendly and the on-site restaurant was nice. Only perk was it was across the street from beach. We live and learn. By no means is this a “boutique” hotel. Misleading!
Absolutely mortifying. Pictures are literally nothing like the rooms at all. The room falling apart shower, drain was clogged, bed had stains, the room smelt like mold, not to mention there was roaches. The room lock was dead my whole trip so I always had to go to front desk so they could send someone to open the door and I ended up waiting in the hallway for at least 30 minutes waiting for someone to come. Parking lot is horrible and parking spaces are small most of the time there isn’t even parking spots available. The halls are humid and sticky. The Maintenance workers are creepy and would go into my room without informing me and just in general the whole place looks like it’s falling apart and the furniture is all old. The smell of mold will also stick to your clothes and all of your belongings. Only good thing was the location but it wasn’t even worth it. DO NOT STAY HERE
Wow, where to begin, not only are the front desk people excruciatingly rude, but this place needed renovation 20 years ago, its an absolute dump, everything is rusted, walls paint is falling off, tv didnt work, coffee maker didnt work, fridge didnt work, and they kept a sheet of paper with my ID and credit card information. It has mold in the bathroom, it has a toilet seat that is broken, the water is brown, the shower was nothing but rust. I have rented hotels for 20+ years and this one is by far the worst.
I booked this read reviews and was worried. But honestly we had a great stay! The two front desk staff were helpful nice and professional! The restaurant bar tender was so sweet great conversation and even better he was familiar with where I currently live so offered up to see sites here in Florida. Fodd at the restaurant was fantastic! The rooms were clean, no bugs, has the sealed and locked mattress covers, comfy beds, plenty of space to place clothes in drawers. The shower water has great water pressure too.The pool is amazing! Handicap accessible too! Safe for kids, but also very nice for adults! Very big clean pool! Only complaint I have is how they do housecleaning you have to put dirty towels outside and request new ones that took of a day to get and that lady was rude but you will run into that everywhere didnt ruin my review just giving you a heads up maybe bring an extra towel or grab an extra beach towel from the desk. Now to the beach chair issue you can rent them so double check prices dont assume its provided for free. View of the beach from our rooms was fantastic! Cant beat the beach being right outside your hotel.Business part I had to work a few days and I had great wifi signal and it was peaceful and quiet enough to focus.
Cons: Mold on shower curtain and walls in bathroom. No accessible outlets, there were two in the bathroom but they were loose and plug wouldn’t stay in. Curtains do not close all the way, had to use their decorative pillow to pin the curtains down so passerby’s couldn’t look in. Towels were visibly stained and dirty. Pillows were stained.Complimentary Shampoo bottles were visibly reused. Tv did not work. Random pipe BEHIND the tv was rusty and leaking and had a plastic bag covering some sort of fixture. Sugar ants everywhere. AC incredibly loud. Fridge did not work. Their parking lot filled up so we had to park in their basement surrounded by broken AC units.Positive:Bed was comfortable.AC was cold.Walking distance to the beach.
The hotel is in much need of a renovation. Walking to the room the hallways smelled of mold and weed. Rooms were small and uncomfortable, very loud. Balcony would hardly fit one person let alone the 4 people that we booked it for. The bathroom had black mold on the ceiling and when you flushed the toilet it made this horrible sound. The pictures that you see online are not what the hotel or rooms are totally misrepresented. We went next door to the Premier Hotel 200% so much better atmosphere and they rooms and staff are amazing.
The reason it received 2 stars is because it directly across from the beach. The room was disgusting. Broken sliding door. Bathtub paint chip. Room itself is old and dark, definitely does not look like pictures. I started one day and had to show with a towel laid in the tub while wearing my slippers. Sorry but never again. Now the night front desk crew are extremely sweet and the restaurant host are amazing.
I would not recommend this hotel. Very run down. Tub has cracks I had to put a towel down to feel some what comfortable with taken a shower. Toilet had it like the ones in a public rest room. No convenient outlets had to plug my phone up in the bath room. The door to my room I have to slam shut in order for it to close. Water stains on ceiling. I understand this is vacation town but the room needs to look like the pictures on the website. Those pictures are very miss leading.
Its an old hotel and it needs to be upgraded. Bed was very uncomfortable...the mattresses should be replaced for new asap. Room was missing coffee maker and the microwave= i believe this is the standard at all hotels. Little safe to keep your valuable belongings was broken... bathtub rusty. Another thing that got me mad, was not receiving a clean towel when I asked for it. I asked the cleaning lady who was just next door, and with very rude way she said to call lobby. When I call lobby, this gentleman said that because of the late time ( it was around 5pm) it was too late to get it. I was so mad... simply mad because this service should be included and be available at anytime. The location is great. Hotel has a small restaurant where you can sit outside and enjoy the beach view. Beach is right across the street which is very convenient. Hotel is providing beach towels and has a free car parking on the back of the building. The only friendly staff I had pleasant experience is a gentleman named Jeffrey. Very caring and helpful. Thank you
It pains me to leave negative reviews so I usually don’t. (please check my other reviews.) However, after staying here, I was left with no choice. For starters, the rooms look nothing like the pictures. They are terribly, terribly, terribly misleading to the point that it should be against the law for resort to use those pictures to secure reservations.Secondly, we never received the additional set of linen that we asked the young man at the front desk for after pulling back the top sheet and seeing clumps of black hair on one of the beds. The remote control does not control the volume on the television in room 317 and the picture on the screen is distorted. They’ll need to replace both soon. The bottom of the shower curtain is moldy and needs to be washed or replaced. The lock on our balcony would not lock either. It’s totally broken. There was so much more but I don’t want to keep typing so here are a few pictures. It deserves 1 star because the beach is directly across the street and you can’t beat that! You and I both know that. But that shouldn’t be an excuse to let your resort go to the dogs.
I would give negative stars if I could. My wife and her friend stayed at this hotel recently and issue after issue after issue. I should also note my wife works from home. The room they got was disgustingly dirty and had ants. Her friend couldn’t brush her teeth because the sink didn’t drain. The toilet was filthy as well and also had a leak problem they had to wear shoes in the bathroom because it was flooded from the toilet. Then they are offered another room and this one has broken blinds so my wife can’t shower because the room is right in front of the bar and everyone can see in. On top of that the wifi didn’t work well either. My wife was historically crying that day and had an awful experience. I do not recommend. When I called to resolve the issue they gave me attitude, I asked for the manager multiple times never spoke with him. But the person I did speak with was Mathis in accounting who was very disrespectful and talked bad about my wife. I have pictures of the room as well and I am very unpleased with there trip and how they were treated by this hotel establishment.
Offering this place 1 star is generous. Awful. Just awful. Pretty sure it hasn’t been updated since 1950. I’m even skeptical that it’s been cleaned since 1950. Carpet is nasty. Door to outside has a 1/2” gap that u can see daylight thru. Water is yellow. Shower was dirty...shower wouldn’t drain. Only hotel I’ve showered in flip flops. I would suggest sleeping on the sidewalk before staying at this place.
The only positive to this place is the location, right across from the beach and surrounded by bars and restaurants. You get what you pay for. All of the reviews about how unsanitary this place is are true. The pull out couch was disgusting and the sheets had stains on them. When we asked for new blankets they said that THEY WERE OUT. how is a hotel out of blankets? The room has an old smell that took my clothes 2 washes to get out. It wasn’t the worst place ever but wasn’t the best. I’ll pay the extra money for a nicer place next time. Would be perfect for college kids just looking for a place to sleep.
My wife and I came here on our honeymoon 5 years ago. We weren’t impressed but we may have gotten lucky with a not so bad room. We came back for a get away near our 5 year anniversary. We were appalled at the lack of upkeep and lack of cleanliness. I agree and ditto the other comments from others. Floor wet, curtain wouldn’t close, patio light shining in my face all night. AC sucked. Room was musty. 20 layers of pealing paint. Tub was painted white and pealing. Sink was coming off the wall. Pillows were not comfortable. Parking lot a joke. The back door next to our room slams shut every time- it kept my awake practically all night.Definitely not worth the prices. Maybe worth $50 equivalent to a motel.Don’t stay here. My wife and I will never consider this place again. They need to sell the property to a developer and bulldoze the place.
The man at the front desk was very rude. The room was dirty. There was a woman staying in the hallway singing rap lyrics at the top of her lungs, yelling at her children for simply standing and fighting over the phone. She stayed in that hallway all day and night. The food at the restaurant was EXTREMELY overpriced. And the incidental charge was more than the cost of the room for the night. I’ll never stay here again.
Location is good. Needs work the bathroom sink is not completely attached to the wall. Had to wait 3 days for chairs for our room. There are 4 of us and gave us 2 towels and 2 washcloths..then told had to wait for towels none available. Still here for another 6 days! No view like the reservation said. We are looking at a wall and parking garage. Staff is friendly.
This place looked nothing like the pictures. When walking to our room we felt like we were in a horror movie. The entire building was disgusting. The walls were falling apart and stained in the room. The chair was so old the material had pieces falling off. There were bugs in the bathroom. The tv was fuzzy and so dark. My entire stay in this room I was skeeved out and could not wait to check out. If we could have afforded another hotel around us we would have left. The proximity to the beach was great but not worth the disgusting filth we stayed in. Do NOT stay here.
Our room was clean but definitely needed some work. The AC sounded like it was leaking but we couldn’t find the leak. It was really noisy though. Our room also smelled like it had been a smoking room in the past and it was still strong smelling. The staff was really friendly and the beach is right across the street which was awesome and they provided us with chairs and towels for the beach! The restaurant on site had good food and service. Free parking as well was a plus!
Overall this hotel is terrible and needs lots of renovation!!!! Very short staffed in the back of the house. We found 2 dead roaches inside our suite. The room and halls smell like mold. The pool filled with people that are loud and hallways people with loud radios. No staff to control the very loud music. Balcony and balcony chairs were filthy, filthy, filthy! The bathroom very old and had black mold on the ceiling. Toilets are from the 80s and with yellow stains in the inside of toilet. Housekeeping lady came in and we found she just walked in, fixed the beds and everything else was just tossed to corners. :((( Went to eat breakfast at the restaurant, the prices are very moderate with an average of $10 plates. Service is excellent but their food is terrible. The kids were not able to eat what they ordered. Their lemonade very sour and orange juice tasted weird - not fresh. Our server tried to mention that Florida does not serve fresh orange juice only South American counties... that was hilarious being that I have lived here most of my life and enjoy fresh lemonade or orange juice from many many small restaurants. In addition we had to buy coffee elsewhere after eating here - coffee was no good. Needless to say we will not be returning to this hotel again.
The beds are nice and comfortable bit could use better, much better work. Other rooms seem to have a kitchen and a small living room space while the one I got was smaller and horrible. The parking is a good thing since I could walk to the beach from there but otherwise than that, I don’t like anything else than that. The pictures my mom and I saw were a lie. The pool is small and the service is poor. This one guy who gave us the card to our room looked gloomy and couldn’t care less. Be careful! Other hotels around here are better than this one.
Terrific place for the money. Yes, it is dated, the bathrooms need a gut remodel, but its on the beach and across the street from a hotel that cost literally 10x as much per night. My room was clean, everything worked, check in was easy, front desk staff was nice, and theres ample free self parking as well! You cant ask for more and Im not someone whod stay in a dump. Ill deal with rust stains in the bathroom though. I suspect thats why many people claim the place is dirty, when its not, its just the wear from southern Floridas extra humid air. You might also see some bugs in the bathroom, but again, this is Florida. Theyre everywhere.Note, the rooms on the left side of the building will have either a pool view or partial ocean view as pictured. The rooms on the right side face an alley and will have limited views. Parking is in the back, behind the building. Its a good sized lot and we never had trouble finding a spot.
Most affordable option closest to the beach. Pool was nice and free parking. Our room was LOUD, the resort next door had an outdoor pool so we heard screaming children until they closed. WiFi did not work and for some reason we could not get cell service either. TV sizes were decent, but reception was pretty fuzzy. Black hair and small blood stains on one of our beds, but beds were comfortable. Shower/tub was pretty unsightly... not just “rust stains” as others suggested. Mold surrounded the soap dish holder and the tub itself had gouges/stains. $100 additional fee charge upon check in. If you are not going to be spending much time in your room, this resort would suffice just for the $savings and access to beach.
My first impression was the smell when we first walked in. Very musty and moldy. I dismissed it thinking its because its right by the ocean. Were told to take the very steep ramp or city prohibited elevator to the 3rd floor. We noticed the bright orange failed inspection sticker in the elevator and saw they actually shut it down the next morning. We get to the floor and were immediately forced to go thru this shady door to the outdoors with hardly any lighting to find our room. We get in the room and its very sketchy. From the curtains, to the carpet, to the bathroom, everything needs to be updated, or the very least - cleaned. I could not believe my eyes. The carpet is like old movie theater carpet, sticky. The room smelled terrible. Everything medal was rusty; the air vents, the door handles and hinges, the tub. How this place is still allowed to be open at this point is beyond me. Check out the air vent as we checked out the very next morning, moldy! We did not feel safe nor did we want to stay another night. The only plus side was the bed was decent and the beach was across the street.
If you are looking to stay at a cleanly, decent hotel save your money and look elsewhere. The Sea Club Hotel was a big disappointment this Valentine’s Day weekend. My fiancé and I booked a room with a King Bed, when we arrived early at the hotel the check-in staff were very understaffed. After waiting 30 minutes, the front desk attendant informed me that we had a standard room with two full size beds.I showed him my reservation for the King room, he called management on the phone and said it would be taken care of by the time we could check in at 3pm.When we came to check in at 3pm, we then waited another 30 minutes as they were very understaffed and unorganized. We checked into our room, and lone behold it was not a King!To our surprise, the room was very run down and honestly disgusting.Lint all over the poorly painted walls. Rust stains in the bathroom walls around the toilet and shower. Layers of dust on the shelving and tile edges. The toilet seat was oblong but the toilet was round. The shower soaks the entire floor no matter how the shower curtain is placed. The TV picture was so staticky you couldn’t even watch it.When the room issues were brought to the front desk’s attention they informed me that they had no King rooms available and that we only had 30 minutes to cancel. Meanwhile, we had a Valentine’s dinner planned that we didn’t want to ruin and miss. With no rooms left at other hotels in the area by this time of day, we had no choice but to stay. The hotel did not offer any credit or solution for their mistake of putting us in a room that we didn’t book. This hotel needs a serious remodel and complete revamp in management in how it is run. As guest, we feel like we were mislead and had no option but to stay or sleep in our vehicle. Just because it’s a holiday weekend, the hotel took advantage of the situation. We would never stay here again, nor recommend this hotel to anyone!
Room was very gross, the air in the room was damp, a/c unit was loud, the carpet was dirty, mirror had drips of something all over it, the bathroom painting on sink and shower was pealing, and it was very confusing to get to our room. When I went to check out, no one was there for at least 10 mins, so I just left the keys on the front desk. The two good things about the place was the price and location, but that’s it.
The hotel is an older place. With that being said, you can tell things need updated, but so far we will be back. Everything worked fine. Yes of course the shower didnt drain right away, but when you shower your full of sand. Sand is hard on the pipes. Service desk employees were very helpful the entire 4 days. Beach directly across the street. Restaurant that is attached to hotel was the best place we ate the whole 4 days we were here. I agree that maybe the resort should update their pictures because its definitely not what you see when you arrive and I witnessed alot of very upset customers, but you get what you pay for. If you want a fancy hotel stay next door and pay 1,000 a night. As far as im concerned I dont need anything fancy, I just need somewhere to sleep & shower!
0 STARS! This place is disgusting and made my skin crawl. Why these people on here are giving 5 stars? Beats me but keep it moving! The rooms are stuffy and molding. Absolutely no ventilation in the bathrooms. The beds suck! I would say sleep on the floor as it may be more comfortable but even that may be a bad idea. The pool was pretty at night but once I saw the rust at the bottom during the daytime it totally turned me off! We were originally booked for 4 days but as soon as the birds started chirping we got the hell out of there! I didn’t even want to close the door behind me after I saw it. How does a door get dirty? Ewww! This is not the ideal place to stay for comfort in Florida. Where are the health inspectors?!
If you like dirty unmainatined motels this Is your place for sure. Room was dirty, not cleaned well at all. Floors, baseboards, bathroom all disgusting. The AC unit sounded like a 60 year old garbage truck breaking down. Tried to check in at 2:30 and was told protocol says I have to wait till 3, so at 3:15 I was then told my room wasnt ready yet and had to wait till 4 to check in. This place is a dump. There is a little place out front that serves drinks and small food products, and she was awesome. Two stars because of her.
We booked online, it looked cool. In person, the total opposite. Staff were super nice but this place was old and scary. We checked in hoping the rooms would be better but they werent. We walked right back to the desk and said we werent staying. I just want to feel safe and clean. here, I felt neither. Super disappointed.
Once we arrived and got into our room we realized we didn’t get the room that we paid for, with the beach front. We talked to the front desk and he said we would be moved the next day, into another room, which still was not the same room we anticipated to get. Hotel pictures online are very deceiving to what you get, hotel rooms are basically equivalent to a motel 6, we had to ask for towels 3 times before we received them. Bathroom was not very cleanly, white painted walls with paint chipping. One of our friends had also gotten a room the same time as us and found an adult cockroach. overall, will never attend and do not recommend to anyone. wish i could rate this 0/10
Not nearly as bad as some of the reviews made it out to be, but not a great hotel either. If you want to stay in a modern hotel with top of the line amenities then open up your wallet and stay somewhere else. The place is cheap and old but, if you are looking for a place on the beach to chill and relax then the place is fine. We didnt encounter any of the scary things many reviews said. Our room was clean, did not smell, did not have bugs and everything worked just fine.
Its a decent old hotel, prices are way cheaper in that area but you get what you pay for. Rooms are small, the size of your typical motel anywhere, 2 queen-size beds in the room we were staying, the pool is small but the best part is you are directly across from Fort Lauderdale Beach. Most restaurants are a few blocks from the hotel, FLL airport is about 15-20 minutes south. We didnt try their restaurant and they have a small bar right in the corner facing the pool in the upper level. If what you need is a place to sleep and are not looking for amenities, this could be a good fit.
Staff is fantastically kind---- hotel although well placed is just not clean. It makes me very sad to be forced to write this but behind the bed, behind the night stand, behind the chest, under the furniture was filth of at least 5 years... Light bulbs were year-long dusty. Tiles in the bathroom had been vaguely bleached but never really scrubbed; had to do it myself and got a new shower curtain... I found streaks on walls. Heavy smokers indulged at night on balconies which were close to mine. Pink paint had obviously been dumped in my tub and never had been washed away. Gym was smelling of mold. All windows were full of fingers. Such a shame; this resort could be an institution yet it looks like an old uncle or aunt whos let themselves go...
My 2 female Cousins stated here last week. They were petrified all night long. Homeless people laying on the Floor in the Lobby.Someone tried getting into their room at 11pm. Shaking the Door and Rattling the Door Handle . No Deadbolt on the Door. They put a Chair against the Door for their own Safety. No Vending Machines to get anything to drink. In the morning they went to get Coffee, but the Restaurant was not open. The Desk Clerk was sleeping in his ChairThey offer On Line for Airport Shuttle. They Dont Have a Shuttle. My cousins had to get Uber..The Room was Filthy.Moldy Smell, hair on the Bathroom Counter and Tub.Sheets were Dingy and Stained. This place needs SHUT DOWN !
Poorly maintained hotel. Smelly and dirty hallways. Even restaurant smells of a grease trap that hasnt been cleaned. The bathrooms are the worst Ive seen in a beachside hotel! Really dated and the porcelain in tub was peeling. The water pressure was so low in shower that I was basically still dry when getting out of shower. However the staff was nice and upgraded me from a room that had a Mr.Coffee coffee maker and no closet doors and the view was a concrete wall. No light could get into room at all from outside.I would have left and lost my money before staying in that room. Will never go back. The pictures on website dont tell the story of how bad this hotel is.
Walking in it seemed a little sketchy, but I decided to give it a chance. Once we got into our room we looked around and the paint was peeling in the main room where the beds were, we moved to the bathroom to find that the tub was absolutely disgusting, I would not step foot into that bathtub, and the ceiling was molding. When we went to the front desk to tell them how unsatisfied I was, he said there was no “cleaner” rooms, and said if we didn’t like it to get out. So we went to go pack our bags and he sent security up to kick us out. My advice, go next door, The Atlantic is SUPER CLEAN and has the nicest staff.
Do not stay here! Front desk staff is inept! Booked three King size rooms online, drive six hours to get there only to find out that the only rooms they had were double full beds. Rooms were borderline disgusting, Im pretty sure they havent cleaned the carpet in several years. Basic cleaning and maintenance were not an priority at all. This is the dirtiest room Ive ever stayed in and would not recommend this hotel to anyone! On the plus side, the location is decent and the restaurant and bar were decent. I dont leave many poor reviews, but I felt this one deserved to be posted.
Affordable but by no means would I go back. Management was banging on our door at 11pm yelling for us to move our car. The grout in the shower is stained yellow as well as the paint was chipping off of the soap holder. Im also pretty sure there was blood on the bathroom door. Everything I brought into the hotel went immediately into the washing machine filled with hot water. Close to the beach was one nice perk but besides that 0 stars.
Doesn’t deserve any starts. I don’t recommend this hotel. Unsanitary. I stayed two weeks ago. Not clean. Roches, bathroom dirty, the cleaning people. Stands in the hallway falling sleep. After you check out they say nothing will be charged to your card. After couple of days there was a charged for daily hotel fees. I called the front desk they transfer my call to accounting and my call was cut off.
Slow staff at reception. The rooms are very outdated. The bathroom walls were peeling, the shower need plumbing fixed. It was running a tub full of water during a shower. The sink was peeling and the toilet was gross. The pool and restaurant were good! Location on the beach was great. I feel they need to update their rooms and guests would be more happy with the hotel.
-5 star review. ABSOLUTELY far from a “resort.” The older male at check in was rude. The rooms smells horrible. Roaches in the bathroom. Showers were filthy. Mold growing in bathroom. All grout was falling apart. Property needs desperate cleaning. Urine in the toilet. 4+ hour check in.
We had a great stay, although some of the staff wasnt too friendly. The rooms need updated and the bathrooms need a little more cleaning. Also pictures can be deceiving, the pictures make the rooms look bigger then they actually are.The receptionist, Anthony, helped us when we wasnt satisfied with our room. He was one of the only people who was actually nice and professional. Definitely will be returning if your staff is genuinely nice like him! Overall, we had a great time!
The hotel was inexpensive and front desk staff were professional. There was parking in the back and the location was close to the beach, strip and restaurants. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. However, the room was outdated, our balcony was closed shut therefore we could not use it. When we turned on the AC/heater, it smelt bad. Overall, our stay was fine. We did not really mind because we spent the majority of the time being out.
This is the worse hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. They false advertised on their website. The rooms are not remodeled. The people at the front desk were very unprofessional and you can not get in contact with management. I surprised my family for my wife’s birthday which was 1 day ago on December 13, 2022. We were supposed to stay until December 15th. We checked in around 12:30AM on the 13th and it was terrible from that point forward. The only highlight was the beach across the street and the breakfast place onsite. We cut our trip short and left back to NC on the 13th. I’m encouraging every hotel website partner to remove this hotel from their site!!!!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE. Staff is incredibly rude, lazy, and give you attitude. The place and rooms are extremely dirty. The man at the front desk was extremely rude and disrespectful. If you’re coming please save yourself a bad time. Is not worth to have a good time just because you’re going so safe some money.I’m usually not the one to leave bad reviews even when a place is bad, but honestly this place is the worst. DONT STAY HERE. If I could give it 0 stars I would.
The pictures they show online for this hotel are extremely photoshopped. The entire hotel is dark and scary. The room smelled moldy and the carpet was permanently dirty. It appears this is a stay motel as there were people who looked like they lived there . With all of the horrible things wrong with the room and hotel I will say the pool is nice and we didn’t get bed bugs.
I wouldnt say the worst but definitely not like pics describe. The rooms are old and musty but clean enough to sleep...and thats it. The bathrooms are old but clean...atleast the towels were nice. I really cant say anything bad about the comfort of the bed, I just prayed there we were no bed bugs. This property is run down and not clean at all. There were beer cans at the back entrance and you can tell there is no maintenance done on the up keep. This hotel sells itself because its right in the hart of every 4 star hotel thst charges at least $250 and up per night... you definitely get what you pay for. This hotel definitely needs a rehab. If I were to rate it I would give it 1 1/4 and the only reason I stayed was because it was only for 1 night and they dont give refunds...hell they dont even serve coffee in the morning.
This place was literally terrible. If I could give it no stars I would. The staff are extremely rude and were talking about me and my friends in Spanish calling us names and what not (little did they know one of us spoke Spanish and could understand what they were saying). When we first checked in they tried to charge us double the amount of our stay and when we complained about they started to have major attitudes. The bathrooms are dirty and our sink was clogged the entire stay. The rooms are extremely outdated and the blankets were dirty as well. Their food was the only good thing about this place but it was kind of pricey. I will never stay at this place again. I DO NOT recommend.
If you go to their site on the web fake I repeat fake reviews..this place horrible the worse in the USA. Dirty rooms , pool, carpet ( which must was put there in the 1950s) bathrooms ( mold and cracks and rust) outdoor pool seats million of cigarette burns, windows dirty, sheets filfty, front desk liars ..the biggest concern is thieves..they tried to move us to another roach infested room and my hubby left his sweater and watch in the old room as we were moving ..house keeper came in and stole it..took 3 days to get back..finally, housekeeper ( fat foreigners black) said she found them in the parking lot..how? We never went outside to parking lot..never an apology..Im report this place to BBB before someone become ill or etc..this place should be located in the ghetto..omg please run very far..o stars
The location was good. The cleanliness could use a lot of improvement. There were literally not outlets to charge phones. The room and bathroom were rather small. The laundry room was outside on the back of the hotel and you had to walk through there and it was not pretty. It smelled like urine and feces and it was dirty and dingy all the way to the were the laundry room was. Then we had to pay for our breakfast because they said that it was not included if we booked online. That for those who did not book directly with the hotel and booked online the breakfast was available but not included. So we still went to the hotel diner to eat breakfast and a cockroach came from inside a jelly container/holder that was on the table and fell into my plate. I panicked and dropped my juice and the lady working at the restaurant said that since that since the restaurant was on the outside that roaches come from the street and that there was nothing she could do about it. They brought me another juice and charged me for it. I paid around 70 dollars for the breakfast that we ended leaving there. Next time I staying someplace else since it ended up not being so economical after all with the hiked up breakfast charge.
Hotel is very very very run down. The condition is very damaged and bathroom is like a public bathroom toilet.Carpet was stained all over and closet was just a piece of bended wood.Wall outlets don’t work to pluck phone charges (for some reason they are super old and phone chargers don’t fit)Chairs in room were peeling off materialBathtub was cracked all over and had LOT of rustHotel halls had a strong smell of mildew and elevator had lots of dust in the ceiling and vents. Also understaffed.Need LOTS of renovations
Older hotel. Dont expect luxury. But the price is half of the average in the area. Big rooms in American style. Everything is big. Room can be darker. Depends on the side of the hotel. We changed the room and were very satisfied. Small sunny and private balcony was big plus. Small refrigerator, coffee maker and iron on the room. Ice maker at the pool. Pool is here, but why pool if there is a beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Mostly gay. Location over the street to the beach is just perfect. I cant follow the other reviews. If you want to enjoy the beach, have clean bed for sleep and dont expect cozy hotel for few bucks, youll be fine here.
When we parked and walked in, the lobby was very nice. From the outside you can tell this motel is older and run down. But thats not necessarily a bad thing! The guy at the desk greeted us and let us know our room was not ready. We were very early, I was checking just in case. We were hungry, so we went to eat at the hotels little diner/bar. It overlooks the ocean, so cool. Our waitress was very nice, but (complaint 1) the food prices were CRAZY high. We ordered nothing fancy, tenders and fries and the fish and chips. We didnt wait long, and got the food. Oh my god, the fries were AMAZING! The tenders were eh, and the rest of my crew said the fish was really good. We got our bill(cried a little lol ) and left. Decided to walk to the beach to wait til check in.3 pm arrives and we check in. The guy at the desk says they need an additional 100$ deposit. (Complaint 2) my room was paid in full prior to arrival, and no where on any site did it say anything about an additional deposit. Luckily we had it, but now we are 100$ short our vacation spending money. They said it would be refunded in 2 business days.We get to our room that overlooks the pool. The outside is very dated, but the room looks and smells really nice! I really liked the ceiling. (If u stay here youll see what I mean)The water pressure in the shower is awesome. I didnt want to get out!I overall give this small motel 5 stars. Its location is great, staff is great, food is great, I felt safe, the beds were clean, everything was clean. Even though the outside is run down, its clean, and thats what matters.I forgot the pool. Its a heated salt water pool. It was great. :)
The overall facility is poorly maintained. The room was a bit scary and doesnt look like its been updated since the 50s. Bathroom had rusty pipes. Sink and tub were broke. We would not recommend this place to anyone.
If I could give it a negative review I wouldPro: near the beach. Free parking . CheapCons: old , outdated ,smells. Keycard constantly failing to work. Toilet doesnt adequately flush. Backdoor to parking lot constantly unlocked. Restaurant sever rude ( i got yelled at for cutting thru the restaurant to get to the coffee shop-- she wanted me to go up a flight of stairs thru the lobby and down again ).Summary; avoid at all costs
You guys should really update inside of the rooms. Had a fridge but no microwave.. the point of that im not really sure. The bathrooms were the worst part. They looked like bathrooms that people would sit in and shoot up drugs. The bathtub was discolored and drained extremely slow and if the room on the other side of you flushed the toilet your toilet would have no pressure to flush. Great location, the pool was decent and the restaurant/bar connected to the resort was fantastic.
The hall ways have strong mold odor. The paint is chipped, the walls & flooring/carpet are filthy , the lights are not functioning in some places, the locks do not function, there is little to no lighting or direction from the parking to the front entrance for check-in.In our room the sheets were stained, the walls/end stands/dresser/table/etc were dirty and stick, in the bathroom the shelves were dirty, the tub had approximately 8 of peeling finish off the bottom of the bug, the couch/loveseat was broken down and dirty. The fridge needs attention, the deadbolt does not lock, the door to the patio to the room lock does not work. I wont go on to detail the condition of this room. If it was not so late upon check in and or we were staying more than a few hours we would have demanded a refund and stayed else where no matter the fee.
Dirty, noisy and gross. Parties every night outside our room. Many roaches and the manager said she had never heard the property had roaches. Big lie. I’m now reading these reviews and many mention roaches. The property is run down and the rooms are dirty. Read the Facebook reviews. What a terrible waste of our money to stay there for 5 days. I prepaid with Travelocity and I blame them too. They are not caring if they place you in a hotel with people drinking and screaming outside of your room until 5 am. What a joke!
Booked one week for a vacation. Photos up on website looked beautiful! We were so excited. Upon arrival, location was perfect, right across the beach. The hotel was so small, and we missed it a few times. It wasn’t very aesthetically pleasing, and the theme of dark purple and orange is definitely not fit for the beach.Peking is in the back in a small lot, a minute walk from the lobby. The lobby was kind of strange. Not the most pleasing look, but it was clean, just kinda cheap looking. The man in the lobby was very nice! Hotel room was supposed to be ready at 3, but we still had to wait around 30 more minutes for it to be cleaned. Walk to the hotel room is complicated. Up the elevator, through two sets of doors go outside then inside again. The room it’s self wasn’t the worst thing ever. Beds were nice but the bathroom was gross. Toilets had metal flusher, there was no drain cover in the shower, and it just wasn’t a nice bathroom overall. Beds were comfortable, but they were kinda small. Room service was good. The lobby lets you rent out beach towels and chairs for free, which is nice.
The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s literally across the street from the beach . Upon check in , the short guy with glasses was rude . Our room smelled like mildew and the cleanliness was a 6/10 . It’s almost impossible to get extra towels and walls are paper thin.
Very cheap rate, but this is explained by the poor maintenance of the rooms and building and poor service. Location is good, everything else wasn’t good at all. Old, dirty, and reception very unhelpful and rude. Would be great if the owner could give it more tlc and see this place improve in the future.
Nice view.best thing about the place is the locationthe rest is sub par.housekeeping seems angry that we are there.the front desk staff seems confused and one of the bartenders does not know that other countries also have constitution days.also the rest of the hotel feels dirty. there was an unknowable gooy substance behind the toilet, the cockroach loved it. we did not love the cockroach though.
I would give this place no stars. Rooms are horrible. Chairs are all tore up holes in walls. We went for a walk before it rained and came back to a room that had water dripping and drenched the TV. We tried to file a complaint the night we checked in but the gentleman at the front desk said he couldn’t do anything and we needed to wait till morning when manager came in at 11. We paid $235 for a room falling apart and leaking. The manager wanted no part in helping us receive any type of refund. He told us we need to wait till Monday to contact the GM.
We were unfairly charged for a late fee after speaking to their front desk. Their worker then proceeded to lie to save the conversation never happened. Their manager, Ronen, is awful the most unprofessional I have ever come in contact with. He was full of excuses as to whether service was awful. Check in time I was at 3 but they didnt get us in until after 5 oclock, only because they gave us the wrong room that we did not order. Unorganized, not very clean, bathrooms are disgusting, and the pictures online look nothing like what you get.
Left before I even checked in. In no particular order.. staff at front desk, rude and worst customer service ever. Asked to see a room before check in, (because of what some people were saying as they left), I was told No. Dirty, and Not old building dirty. Trash, cigarette butts, cups and wrappers on floor of lobby and public areas..Loose, broken, sharp tiles on steps. Had to get a pool towel to sit on couch. Was not in any way welcoming or comfortable. DOES NOT look like pictures. I was there 15 minutes and had to go somewhere else. It cost me a nights deposit, but peace of mind is priceless.
The only nice parts of this “resort” are the pool area and the restaurant. Breakfast was good at the restaurant. There was a druggie sleeping in the lobby when we checked in. “Resort” should not be allowed in the name of this MOTEL. It is outdated, dark, dingy and wayyyyy too expensive for the poor quality. It is in a great location, but not worth the worry of whether or not you will wake up to a roach on your face. You practically have to fight an MMA match to open the door to the balcony, the rooms are musty smelling. Beds and pillows are comfortable but because of the initial shock of the way the rooms look my first instinct was to check for bed bugs. We regret not fully reading through the reviews and next time we will book somewhere of higher quality. For $100 more over 4 days you could stay at a legitimate hotel that isn’t run down. Extremely disappointed.
The staff were nice and helpful. Location was great. However they have bed bugs or something that left bites all over my legs. I checked the mattresses and sheets they seemed pretty clean but something was eating away at me that night. And there was a roach just strolling along the wall in the morning
My family and I stayed here and we loved it!! Reading some of the reviews, I was a little scared. And yes it was a little outdated, BUT: 1. One of the few places right by the beach that also has a pool, 2. You CANNOT beat the price, not even close. 3. The staff was awesome! I left my nice headphones behind in the hotel. I called, they found them and mailed them to me at my house and covered the shipping. That is some excellent customer service! Thank you Sea Club! We will be back for another vacation :)
I was unsure about this hotel to begin with from reating reviews. It is a small older hotel, and it is on the cheaper side. The first room we had the tub backed up, the fresh towels were dirty and had stains on them, whoever painted the room did a terrible job, and the showe curtain was moldy. I had called to tell them about the room and they apologized and put us in another room on the other side of the hotel. This room was much better except for the giant cracks in the drop ceiling, like it had been leaking before and never replaced. Same room layout, but significantly less mold (still had a tiny bit) and it didnt smell like the other room did. We did find more stains on our towels and had new ones brought to our room. Which is insane, so check your towels. The only thing I can say is, its cheap for being right across from the beach with free towels and chairs for the beach. If it wasnt for that, I wouldnt pay what we paid to stay there.
Don’t ever go here. I never write reviews but the place is disgusting. As soon as I walked in, it smelled like mold. I went the the bathroom and it smelled like straight bleach. I guess that could be a good thing. But all they did was just spray bleach all over the bathroom you could tell, I took a shower and I put my clothes on the towel rail and then my black shorts had brown marks from the bleach. The beds smell and are infested with bed bugs. There are no outlets in the room and you also better be real skinny. Because the toilet sits right next to the wall. Trust me don’t go here. I would say I was lucky it was only one night but I wish it wasn’t even that. Rate is less then 1 to be honest
Value, value, value and quality considering its an older and exterior entrance hotel. Everyone from Jose and Ray at the front desk to Cody and Jordan at the bar and the server Chris who always made sure to bring water for my dog were friendly, accommodating and excellent at their jobs. Additionally, the housekeeping staff did an excellent job of making up my room perfectly everyday. And lastly, the general manager is excellent and evenhanded at enforcing the hotel policies to ensure a pleasant guest experience for all. I will DEFINITELY stay here again!
Room was clean and tidy. Location was amazing. Decent amenities, the restaurant had surprisingly good food. The mahi sandwich was excellent. They ran out of wine glasses which did not accompany my selection very well. Only actual complaints are that the front desk staff was a bit rude and aggressive when I questioned a $2.22 fee for the use of the room safe??? Seems a bit strange to demand that from me considering I didnt even see a safe in the room. I could have gone without the attitude. All the other staff was very kind. Waiters at the restaurant where excellent.
The worst place I have ever stayed. Nothing worked inside the hotel. We had bad outlets, t.v didn’t want to work, hair dryer didn’t work at all, missing parts on the bath tub, toilet didn’t want to flush, and the room smelled really bad of mildew. We also ended up finding a roach in the bathroom. The best way to describe this place is a crack house!!
I had to pay $20 cash to be checked in even know my reservation was prepaid. The young guy that’s a front desk in the afternoons said if I don’t give him cash he will make me wait few hours.. extremely mean, worst service ever. Balcony door lock was broken, toilet was leaking so the bathroom was flooding from toilet water. Mold everywhere. Disgusting place and service.
Only big negative is that the TV has no local channels, so it is hard to stay informed of local events.
DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL.You can smell the mold as soon as you walk into the reception, but the worst was in the room. The bathroom was covered in mold and had an extremely dusty vent. Its actually so bad its a health hazard.. Especially for those of us with asthma. There was mold all over the shower head, shower curtain, silicon and even on pictures hanging on the wall. The most ridiculous thing about it was that the mold was all superficial.. meaning they could have spent less of a day to clean and remove it. Obviously the cleaning crew dont know how to do their job when even the shower head is covered in mold. Which takes max 10 min to remove. My family had rented 3 rooms on 3 different floors and they were all as equally dirty and nasty. I therefore doubt that this problem will get fixed properly.Highly recommend to avoid this hotel.
Built in the 50s, really cool architecture and great location. Needs some updates for sure but Id liken my stay to spending a weekend at your grandmas. Everything is a little old and it may not have the comforts of nicer resorts, but its right on the beach and Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. Everything you need within walking distance. Great stay for a single guy. Staff was cool and helpful. Ristorante attached had a nice staff and good drinks 👍🏻
The price was reasonable, about $100 for the night, which is not bad but I have definitely stayed in nicer hotels for this price before. The location is great, lots of little cafes in the area and literally right next to the beach, however the rooms really are terrible. The bathroom was not clean at all, the bed sheets were not comfortable and the staff was OK at resolving issues. I would not recommend unless you really don’t want to spend the money and are fine with staying in a dirty motel style place.
The hotel is very run down in desperate need to honestly tear down since cost of renovation seems extremely high. Our room was very dingy, damp, moldy. Made us all depressed just to be in there. Plan was for 3 nights left after one. Location is great. I really feel for this place. Hopefully owners will dig deep and do what they need to do.
When i first walked into the hotel there was a beautiful setup and an awesome pool!! Then when we got to our room it was small but nice until we got settled. The bathroom is so bad!! The toilet is old and you can tell the shower is even worse we had to get showers with flipflops on and the water came out yellow. So we got a new room. Our new room was super nice and it was bigger and better. Until we laid in bed and found hair and a ball of hair in the corner and bedbugs. When we found that out about the bedbugs we lifted the mattress and found multiple brown, yellow and unexplainable stains. NEVER AGAIN!! There was mold stains in the ceilings and on the walls. If I could give this zero stars, I WOULD. We tried to find other rooms but EVERY other room is the same thing yellow water, stains, bedbugs, and it smells like urine. Do they have houskeeping or do they just make the beds and fold towels and put them back without cleaning them.WORSE PLACE EVER!!
I never leave reviews but i feel like this needs to be said. DO NOT STAY HERE..If I could leave no stars I would. This place is should be fined for false advertising. The pictures are nothing like what the place is in person. There was roaches in the bathroom and by the beds, the door to the room was broken, mildew on the ceilings, furniture that was falling apart. We didnt even last 20 minutes at that this place. HORRIBLE
If your looking for a modern room with new furnishings this is not the place for you , but the location is AMAZING, so if your looking for somewhere to just sleep close to the beach I would go here. The staff is awesome and the pool is clean and heated. The room was not bad just old and outdated it was clean though. From the hotel it takes you five seconds to walk across the street to the beach. You also get free parking in a nice lot right behind the hotel. The only reason I am giving a four and not a five is because our sink was broke, shower drain was broken and tv was staticky but who needs tv when you are basically on the ocean! Side note this place was kid friendly and our three kids enjoyed the pool!
Let me start by saying that the proximity to the beach is absolutely perfect. The hotel allows you to borrow beach chairs(not that great) and towels. There are also a lot of restaurants and shops around. There isnt much a view from any of the rooms. The room my family and i stayed in was probably one of the worst in the whole building. Our bathroom ceiling was leaking, the toilet wouldnt flush, the paint all over the walls were chipping, the wifi couldnt be reached from our room, none of the outlets worked(only the one in the smelly bathroom) and the cable was terrible. The pool was okay, a little dirty because of all the sand from the beach. Parking was very limited, some nights we couldnt find any parking. The two woman in the front desk(morning shift) were really rude, i asked a couple questions but they always seemed in a rush to move on. Anthony, (front desk in the evening) was amazing to us. Always had a smile on his face and took his time answering our questions. I gave this place a one star because of how close it is to the beach besides that, it was a terrible stay.
It was deplorable dirty floors and the lobby rest room toilet had bugs and fences on it. The urinal was covered with pubic hair urine and what to be dead nats and small flys. I watch the old lady in the boutique put five hotdogs in a microwave I’m certain that she wasn’t wearing gloves then place them in a cooler to sale. I seen the waiter working through the lobby while trying to cover there with his hands thing he was using a microwave to cook it somewhere else. I should have know that this place was bad when the health inspector arrived. One I was asked to check in I began to walk to my room and starting noticing how nasty the caper a/c units and doors looked in the other rooms . I turned around and left . Walked 20 mins to another hotel with my luggage to fine another hotel. This place should be removed from the beach period!!!!!by the way I wish I could post the pics I took!
I like this place. Its a 70s style hotel with character. They are going through a remodel and they remain busy and upbeat through the process. My room was very nice with nice fixtures, very good mattress, clean, and had all necessary amenities. The service is very welcoming and communal. I think the addition of the remodel will bring the needed changes to help lay to rest the range of negative complaints. If you are looking for a holiday in, this is not that. This hotel is more of a local favorite that has its own appeal and charm. When I am traveling for work I like holiday inns but when I am on vacation or looking for a get away I like go to experience the local culture. If you are looking for the local experience you have found your place.
Worst stay ever!!We changed room three times and every time got worse. We left in the middle of the night and booked another hotel further away from the beach. The location is not worth it: mold, roaches, bugs, dirt and everything else everyone already wrote. The smell… just disgusting.
Booked through Groupon and paid roughly $66/night for Tuesday through Thursday. Our room was clean and the beds are super comfortable. There is a small area between the room and the bathroom where the refrigerator is and it smelled a bit funky, but no visible dirt. There is no microwave. The pool is clean and is always open (no lifeguard) with color changing lights at night. The ceiling looks pretty cool. There are freebies offered, but since we booked through Groupon, they didnt apply. Free towels and beach chairs for use (you must sign them out). Also, big heads up, they take $100 on your debit/credit card for incidentals, which should be returned upon check out.It is a bit dated in the lobby and outside, but we came here for the beach. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful.
This place was a great location but that where it ended. It was very dirty and totally disappointing venue. The outside bar they refer to did not exist and free breakfast was coffee and Dunkin Donuts, horrible. The rooms were smelly and dirty plus generally the passage ways and reception floors were dirty and unkempt.TV remote never worked , handed in to reception and 3 days later never got it back. Both of us had bites from the beds, possible bed bugs. Reception staff unfriendly and uninterested.Seems lack of any management within hotel. Will NEVER be back.
This wonderful resort is under rated The rooms were very clean and nice. Right on the beach with good food and Wifi and cable. Staff was amazing and helpful in every way. We had good views from our room but upgraded to ocean view suite Well worth the difference. Lucky to have such a gem right on the beach. Original older but very well kept and personal but friendly. We will stay many more times again. Thanks Sea Club.
One star is honestly being generous but I had no other choice, absolutely do not stay here! Room was not ready for check in time, staff was rude, and the room was disgusting and smelt like mold! We pulled out the ac filter and it looked like it had never been cleaned, there wasn’t even a blanket on the bed. My boyfriend and I risked losing all our money and got an air bnb down the road! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
This hotel is a hot mess. Unclean, ants in the bathroom, room safe broken, coffee maker and hair dryer didn’t work, carpet was stained and dirty. The fire detector was hanging from the fitting. We had to move to another room because the sliding door wouldn’t close and we felt unsafe. The front desk staff was very nice but the housekeeping staff was unfriendly.
This place is absolutely horrible. The only decent thing is the pool. The whole hotel is run-down. It has rust and mold everywhere, thin walls, overall very dingy and dirty. Nothing like it’s shown online, total hotel catfish. The only thing this hotel has to offer is location, right on the beach. Honestly would’ve just booked somewhere else rather than here.
This place was a complete nightmare. I don’t even know where to start. My wife arrived to check in before I could arrive and she was horrified at the condition of the room. Nothing as advertised on the Agoda.Com site. It was filthy. It was dusty. Fridge was rusted, the one chair in the room looked like a Lion was gnawing at it. It was musky and the A/C in the room gave off a wet towel scent. It had bugs, it looked like Joe’s Apartment when I flicked on the bathroom light. Bathroom literally looked like the bathroom in the Saw movie, toilet was rusted and moldy. The bathtub looked like the toilet. We immediately asked for a room change, they didn’t have any “remodeled rooms” available to change for. I had to splurge on an Air BnB for my wife and daughters mental sanity. Elijah at the front desk said we would only be charged the night (nobody would sleep in this room for free) and we could cancel the rest of the stay. The hotel disputed our request, thank God I booked with AMEX and explained my case. Agoda did nothing to help the situation even though they were partly responsible for posting with false advertisement. We learned Agoda is based out of London. DO NOT BOOK WITH AGODA EVER!!! They don’t even know what the rooms actually even look like. STAY AWAY FROM SEA OCEAN RESORT, you’re better off sleeping on the beach with a blanket and using a restaurant bathroom to clean up. Seriously. Disgusting. Room straight out of a horror movie. If I could give it zero stars I would… in fact I’d give it negative 5 stars.
