Nashville School of Massage Therapy

Fantastic program! Instructors taught mechanics and education of massage. Highly recommend this program to anyone who is serious about becoming a LMT!

The learning atmosphere here is truly amazing. I’ve learn so much in my time here I can’t wait to apply in the real world. The only that the school can improve is the communication on both the day time and the night time students. I would definitely do this experience all over again.

I just completed their program. I felt really prepared to pass the national exam. This year 100% of the students have passed on their first attempt. I also got great hands on practice and feel ready to launch in my career. I have visited and attended other massage schools here and this one far out ranks them all. They also have great scholarship opportunities to attend the school.

This place is great! You get a one-hour massage from a student for $20. No tipping is allowed by state law until the students get their license. So not only is it a bargain,you are helping the students get the experience they need to get certified. Ive been twice, and both massages were good; each was different, but very relaxing and beneficial. This school is a hidden gem that is worth discovering!

Dawn is the best teacher in all of Tennessee that one could learn massage from. She is phenomenal with her teaching practices as well as her vast knowledge of kinesiology/body movements, anatomy, Her years of practice in massage make her more than qualified to teach massage and give students the confidence and knowledge and no-how to enter into the massage field as new licensed professionals. The classroom sizes are perfect to allow for lots of one-on-one teaching. Any question Ive ever had has been personally addressed, and answered. Very professional massage rooms to practice in and lots of hands on time means you will get your moneys worth for the exceptional quality. Expect to be in school on time, and homework done, and be prepared to LEARN, and you will come away with the vast knowledge in under 6 months.The director Christine Long has been there from start to finish as a constant resource of professional information, and a guide to help navigate the financial as well as schedule of school. She personally retrieved my CPR card when I had to have it, and she also will personally drive up to the Board and deliver applications to be sure that they get into the right hands.You wont find a better group who wants to see you succeed and happily helps you get to your first benchmark of Licensed Massage Therapist. I am more than proud to say I am a graduate of Nashville School of Massage Therapy!

In my experience, this school was overall ok. I learned all I needed to pass the state exam. When first starting classes, the environment seemed welcoming and friendly. However, I went through a very emotional time during the program. As the weeks went on, more “rules” were added and changed constantly, which was confusing and hard to keep up with. Besides that, being touched every day and touching was very vulnerable. This touch brought out a lot of stuffed trauma in my body. I didn’t know what was going on at first. I reached out and got help; as I continued to figure this out, and even wondered if I could be a therapist or not, I felt the support of the staff vanishing. I felt judged, especially after not attending the graduation. The staff seemed to take my personal choice very personally on themselves. I am proud of myself for the work I’ve done but do not appreciate the hostility I now feel and have heard that continue lurks around certain students’ names, including mine. This could be solved with simple questioning and trying to understand the students’ perspectives and lives rather than gossiping. OR just not presenting as being personally invested in the students in the beginning at all and keeping the atmosphere strictly professional. Overall, it is a very basic training in Swedish massage and has good connections for scholarships with Massage Envy. The security of a job relieved a lot of stress. I am thankful for my training. I enjoyed picking the brains of my instructors to understand the body and how to aid in the healing of others.

I am on the opposite end, I came in today to receive a massage. They have massages for the public on friday and saturday mornings. I regulary get massages ( roughly 2-3 a month). I have been to salons all over Nashville so I am pretty picky about my masseuse. I came into the school today, A young lady named Angela worked on me. She was very good! I asked her how long shes been in school, and was floored by her response. She said 2 months. This young lady gives a better massage than some mauseessess that i know who have been doing this work for 10+ years. I was reluctant to go to a school at first, but I am so happy I did. To the teachers, you are doing something special!! Thank You.

I absolutely love this school! I graduated 04/2017 and passed my Mblex the first go! The staff is amazing and so caring!! I recommend this school for anyone looking for great massage training!

Its the best! I cannot imagine a better teAcher than Lela Dawn F Brown or a more helpful office staff such as Christine Long! I had 3 medical degrees and 20 years of clinical practice but I still learned so much about muself and other cultures. Great program with proffesionnal standards and zero tolerance for any negative expeiences. Everyone was safe and we are all friends and connected even after school. I give it 6 stars!

I have gone here many times. Massage therapists are professional and pleasant. Most are very knowledgeable and tailor your massage to your request. I had my best ever massage there today.

I have been trying for a full week to get a couple of massage appointments. Ive left a dozen messages on the appointment line and on the line for the administrative office. Evan sent an email. No response. Let me correct that...one response from some nice person checking to make sure my calls had been returned. Alas, I missed that call and she did not actually make an appointment for me....although I was quite specific about what I was trying to book. Telling me you cant acccomodate me is fine....but returning a call is just basic manners. I do not understand what is going on with you guys. This is clearly systemic since three separate avenues have all been ignored.

Had my first massage today at this school. I was surprised that this was actually one of the best massages Ive ever had.Will definitely return for another.

I went here couple of days ago. Honestly, I was very disappointed. It was just rubbing my back and the massager didn’t do the full time either. It was not effective at all.
