Old Cellar Bar

Not sure if this is Mollys or Old Cellar. The same place? This is a nice little bar, its New Years Eve and there are almost no people here. My partner and I cant figure this out. Good place, one star deducted because no whipped cream on the Irish coffee.

Fun hole in the wall place to grab a drink! Staff is friendly and the ambiance is great! Check them out! It was an enjoyable time!

Bar tender is slow waited to get a beer for me and my wife over 15 min then he told me it would take 30 min place was not busy ill never come here again

Over 4th of July weekend, I was in town with a GM for Hilton. We were meeting the GM for a group of restaurants in the area to discuss ways to bring more patrons and nightlife to the area. On Sunday the 3rd , We were walking the Strand and decided this place would be a great place for the meeting because it had a small number of patrons and was quiet. The long stringy haired bartender was so completely rude to us that we just had one beer and moved our meeting elsewhere. I have never encountered a bartender this rude and I’ve been in the business quite some time.

Girl behind the bar needs a course in working with the public and not be so rude. When people are waiting at the bar..bartenders need to pay attention to who gets to the bar first. Being attentive is key here young lady !! No tip for you!

Took a walk downtown after dinner. I smelled cigar smoke from outside, and that always gets my attention. Smoking ok here. Perfect Irish pub, Ill be back with a cigar. And friends.

The bartender was very welcoming and very nice. Even though he messed up and brought me a Corona instead of a Dos Equis like I asked for originally he made it right with me and even offered to play our kind of music which gives him mad kuddos in my book.

This is a two sided bar. One side is the cellar door - the other is Mollys. Both are great bars. Pool table, darts and a chill vibe. Bartenders are sweet and on point. Go see Mike, Danny, Tater and Will. They will treat you right.

This venue has a warm and comfortable feel to it right in the historic downtown portion of Galveston, with inviting staff and prompt and courteous service. The customer experience was great and we enjoyed connecting with friends from the local area. They DO allow smoking in doors so be aware of this if you have allergies or are generally sensitive to such things. Navigating through the bar itself can be tricky as there are some very narrow areas and the restrooms are in dire need of deep cleaning and repair.

If the other more popular bars are full I come here. Even if theyre not, I still come here. Probably the friendliest pub in the Strand district. Excellent beer selection and decent liquor selection. The bar is split in two and I recommend going to the one on the left when youre looking at it from outside. The one on the right seems a bit musty and it gets to you after a while. The one on the left not so much. I still love the hell out of this place.

Very friendly personable bartender named Jason. This was our first time in and will definitely be coming back. Thank you for the history chat about the building and the area.

Very nice older place with a nostalgic feel. A little smoky for my tastes. The bartender was super personable & very funny. Liked his demeanor. Drinks were great!

Dominique is amazing! She does everything right. No problems! She kept coming back even though she had a lot of customers!

Beautiful old pub style setting. Great beer selection. We stopped there in the middle of the day so it was mostly empty but the bartender was entertaining and was knowledgeable about their offerings.

Great old school feel bar. Unfortunately wife got a beer that was mostly flat and watered down cause the keg needed changing. Bartender should have noticed.

Great place to hang out after an event at the Opera House. Good drinks, fun people. They have a dart board which is a plus.

Local relax bar were adult can be a adult. Have a drink smoking is allowed and the is a pool table. And a lot of beer to choose from as well as a full bar. Open every day of the year.

We had an amazing time here. Met with my son and some of his work friends as well as some of my old friends.I will be back when I return to The Island

Came in to grab some grub and a cold one. The food was on par, and the service was on time. Will visit the next time Im in Galveston

Great local hangout with a really old pub environment. Darts on one side and pool on the other.

Divey hole in the wall with pool tables and tons of space. Kind of gives you that Im Ron burgundy feel when you walk in.
