I saw the sign Massage as I entered the small shopping center. No name, but a phone number. So it Iooked it up on yelp and made an appointment. I told Sandy deep tissue for 60 minutes . She did a great job of back walking for the first 10 minutes and I asked her to make it 90 minutes deep tissue. Although she was knowledgeable about anatomy and the where my body needed the most work, it was not deep tissue. All she did was continue to apply more massage oil and rubbing it slightly over my body. There was never any deep tissue pressure that I expected, even after I told her to press harder. She just added more oil, both when I was face down and face up, while partially covered with a sheet. I came away not feeling any better than when I entered the spa. So I will not be returning.
Walking up, the building has no signs that have the proper name of the massage place. It says “massage” on the outside but I never saw anything saying “Gentle Springs”. Then I went straight to the room which was fine, and the MT told me to not use the decorative chair for my belongings but that I needed to hang up my clothing on the hooks and place my keys and phone on the table. (Very particular?) The blanket/towel for covering was very small and thin where I felt very exposed although I was “covered.” The MT never asked about any problem areas. She used a TON of massage oil so her hands felt as though they were slipping all over the place, and I could feel her fingernails scratching across my skin. She also wore very loud cloggy shoes that I could hear everytime she took a step. She spoke in a normal volume voice (not soothing) the entire massage and commented on how tight my muscles were and the areas she found to be a problem. When it came time for the hot stones, she walked out of the room without telling me where she was going or what she was doing and left the DOOR CRACKED OPEN a few inches where anyone walking past could see me. When she wanted me to flip over, she lifted the blanket/towel completely to not preserve my privacy. In the end, I felt very pressured as she told me that she needed a tip and got out a chart of “recommended tips” which ranged from $20-$50 TIP. I purchased a massage with hot stones and essential oils but I didn’t smell or notice any type of essential oil used. It was NOT RELAXING. Will never return. I’ve had $25 massages better than this.
I have seen Sandy several time and she is friendly, professional and makes sure you are comfortable with the pressure. I will be back again.
I’ve gone to see Sandy many times and she always gives the best massages. I will continue to go there.
