I have gone to Salsamor for as long as it has been open, any time I am in Hawaii. As a salsa dancer I can rely on it being open, the salsa night -usually thursdays- is a professionally run event, with great music and a nice friendly atmosphere, this is due to the long time promoter who Knows how to run a salsa night. Salsa night has bar specials and Ive never had a problem with staff at the venue. There is security at the door and inside, they are pleasant and not aggressive.
1 hour of dance lessons and then bachata and salsa social dance and after 11pm they play reggaeton and the DJ is having fun adding a little bit of everything. I think it’s a great choice for a Thursday night! I had a blast with friends!
Although we had a wonderful time dancing at the venue the bartender was rude and the bathroom attendant was argumentative and demanded a tip from my wife every time she used the bathroom. The location is also off the main roads and across from the mall and shopping parking garages, we didnt see any crime but empty back streets in an area with homeless problems isnt exactly the place you want to be when leaving a club late at night. If you plan to take a bus at night to and from the area dont waste your time as they are all way off schedule, we ended up walking home more than once even after mapping multiple bus stops and lines as all had half hour plus delays and then still didnt arrive.
Its not just District, it is the organization, the MAIN most fun Salsa/bachata nightclub on the island for such a long time!!! They play reggaton and Merengue later at night. My FAVORITE 😍
By far my most favorite salsa event on Oahu, for many many years now! I’ve been going since Salsamor started, and I seriously *always* have the best time. One of my favorite things, is that there is always a wide diversity of level of dancers. Everytime I go there’s always everyone from beginner to professional level dancers there, as well as people who just come and cruise cuz they like the music. To me that is very important because it means this event is incredibly inclusive, and everyone feels welcome.
SALSAMOR! Hawaiis Most Popular Salsa Event. Behind Ala Moana Shopping Center, at 1349 Kapiolani Boulevard, is where youll find the District Nightclub. Youre going to learn how to dance from us! We will teach you both salsa and bachata. Included inside the cover is a lesson. No prior experience is required. There is no requirement for a dancing partner. Cover charge gets you a drink and theres a free salsa instruction from 8 to 9 oclock. Drinking options include bottled water, shots, and domestic beers. Extra for imports, blends and premiums. Check out the salsa event that is so popular that the most well-known promoters and DJs in Hawaii come to enjoy themselves there. It is the place in Hawaii where one may see the Whos Who in the state. The following is a selection of comments made by various individuals about SALSAMOR: Salsamor is the place to go if you want to get your dancing on while youre in Hawaii. I love the free Salsa and Bachata Lesson as well as the dance atmosphere. The DJ plays Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. I highly recommend this Salsa club
Great place for Salsa and Bachata social dancing. Friendly atmosphere and they have a class before the social event 🤗
I come here every thursday. The music is great. And its fun if you dance Latin music or not.
DJ was /is horrible.
Google said that this place is open but its closed due to covid.
Its says its open but its not just wast a trip
Nice people and good music.
T at the front door is great and welcoming. Also lets you know there won’t be any trouble in there. The venue is amazing! It’s free class and free social - that’s unheard of in San Diego (where I’m from) and on Maui (where i live). The music is always perfect! Bachata is not my jam but it is actually 50/50. I get so upset when venues advertise 50/50 and it turns out to be 90/10. Thank you Grant! Also - there are always great dancers that show up. The drink prices are also fair. Reed and Gabriela are really awesome- not like that snooty beeyach at Buho. So ya - I highly recommend this place! Keep up the great work! I totally appreciate you all!
