Cute little karaoke bar thats always fun and vibrant! I think it might be a gay bar and Im straight but its still really fun to be here everyones super nice and when you go through the island looking for somewhere with life this is usually the only place left open till 2:00 am! Great people nice atmosphere
First time coming here on May 2, 2024 during my vacation in Hawaii. As soon as I walked in, the female bartender gives me a warm welcome greeting. Atmosphere is cozy. The environment doesnt need much space, I felt relaxed. The crowd was great at karaoke. I myself Im not much of a singer but I enjoyed listening to the other customers sing till their hearts content. Would definitely revisit this bar when I get the chance to visit Hawaii again. Thank You.
Loved it here. We didn’t see any problems with staff or patrons at all like many other reviews said.We had an amazing time and sang along with the crowd.Drinks were nice, well made and quick. Starting a tab is so easy too.I wish there was more seating but I understand there isn’t always space to add more.A fantastic place if you want to stay here for a couple of hours and drink.
Love, love, love this place. Just spent a few days in the area and my best friend and I were here every day. Didnt even bother trying another bar.Gay, straight, single.... it feels welcoming for everyone. The karaoke is fun and unpretentious. Drinks are great. Bar staff were super nice.Didnt have any food there, so cant comment on that.I really wish my hometown had a place like this!
What a joke. Bartenders were drunk and started a fight with one of our crew. The owner came in, called the cops and escalated the situation instead of just talking people down. I leave very few bad reviews, but this place is only good if you get in for a bit and leave early. The owner is a coward and incapable of talking in a clear head place. Seemed like entire staff were strung out. They picked a fight with a drunk singled out person over a low tip. Anyone in service knows that happens. Get over it. Dont call the cops. The fight turned out to be because she left a zero tip on 100$. Which does suck, but service was super slow. Summary: Leave a tip, or the owner will call the cops on you.Get your karaoke songs in and then leave.
What a vibe! Amazing locally owned business (the owners are the best guys ever). The crowd here is generally into 90s and early 20s songs and all the bartenders serve great drinks and are super personable.
Overall, this place could have been fun, but we were seated at the furthest booth when there were closer seats to the Koraoke stage. We felt so isolated. We asked to be moved to the other open tables, and we were told yes, but it never happened. They did have a great app ordering system, but other than that, sadly, we didnt have dun.
Just to set the record straight for a couple of unwarranted recent reviews: Im not sure what got Kyle Sawyer down on 5/9/24, but Chelsea and Heather treated him with respect just like everyone else who walks through the door there. I was there the entire time he and the guy he arrived with were at Wangs. The bar was very clearly still closed when he decided to let himself in just as Chelsea was about to open. She was not at all rude to him, but he was extremely rude to both her and Heather for all 30 seconds he spent there.I can only assume it was David McHenry with him, and David barely entered the establishment even after I held the door for him because I thought it was odd he didnt follow Kyle in. I dont think he actually had a single interaction with either of the bartenders.Everyone else had a great time last night... super chill crowd, great mix of karaoke songs, there was even a 28th wedding anniversary celebration. Overall a solidly fun night at Wangs, which is the typical experience there as Wangs is always one of the most welcoming places. All the bartenders are awesome... Heather, Chelsea, Patrick, Justin, and Nick. And Tristan too.
Wow. Just Wow. This bar is absolutely incredible. Most notably, the cleanest, most comfortable bar I have ever been in. They offer a smart-phone-based system for ordering drinks, requesting karaoke, and even closing out your tab, which was absolutely incredible. Freezing Cold A/C was a welcome escape from the tropics, and their drinks were strong, affordable, and very tasty. Definitely a gay bar, all are welcome with an open mind. Karaoke talent among the clientele is top-notch here too, applause all around.
We are here on vacation and were excited to try this bar for the karaoke, but when I say avoid this bar. From the time we walked in it was horrible. One of our guests opened a tab and after trying to place an order the card was thrown back after taking too long to order. Then when it was time to close the tab, the same bartender told us to “just get out” after we closed our tab. Then, the bar closed 20 minutes early, and while waiting on one of our friends to come of of the bathroom, one of our party went in to check, and the bartender threatened physical violence for trying to check on someone. I cannot believe the experience we had. The environment and people were amazing, and we were even told by the patrons who normally come that they were being overly rude tonight. Trust me when I say, the environment is great, but the bartender made the whole experience horrible.
Trust me, you need this bar in your life!!! DONT listen to the bad reviews. Our bartenders were Nick, Tristan, Chelsea and Heather and we absolutely ADORE them! My husband and I were never looked down on, even tho we are strait in a gay bar. And the other customers were so much fun to be around. Everyone was great! Yes, you pay to sing, but only $1 a song so I actually got to sing quite a bit. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! We will most definitely be back on our next vacay!

Very cute and intimate karaoke bar located in the lobby of a small boutique hotel. Their seemed to be a lot of regulars and we felt welcomed and a part of the scene as soon as we entered. The mix of local LGBT crowd and Japanese tourists serious about their karaoke was definitely not something you see every day. We loved it! Aloha Beaches
Best place to karaoke! This place always has a great vibe to it! The decor inside is creative, cozy, fun. Whether you have a little or big Wang (haha) everyone gets along great here. Their cocktail menu is actually pretty well thought of. Funny drink names and sophisticated ingredients... its a hidden gem for sure! Come by...I bet youll end up singing along!
I havent had this much fun in a long time. The name throws you off but this place is fun and inviting to all.
This place was fun, so .any people in there. But the drinks and karaoke make it worth it
Fun night out! Took awhile to finally get to our song selection so expect to wait if you want to sing. bring cash because you have to pay to sing ($1 per song so not bad but our party just doesn’t carry around cash). Drinks were made quick and well and vibes were good! Was kind of weird that the bartenders kept singing songs? I feel like they should leave that to patrons especially when it’s so busy you have to wait so long to get to your song. But other than that it was a fun outing!
Loved this place until the female bartender ruined our whole experience. I didn’t know dancing was a reason to kick someone out of a bar. We not only paid for karaoke but we spent a pretty penny on drinks and tipped very well (we tipped $20 bucks before ever getting a drink) . Then during a popular song we danced a little too enthusiastically I guess and “tripped” (no one fell over, ran into anyone, or disturbed anyone). That was the reason the bartender told us to leave the bar. Not cut us off, but leave the bar. Utterly disappointed, we were not disrespectful or hindering anyone else’s experience. I guess it is a crime to get a little drunk in a bar now. Never going back.
This place is almost perfect. Great drinks, staff, atmosphere. My only complaint is that they are totally inconsistent with running the actual karaoke part of the night. You look at the performance order on the screen and you have 2 people in front of you, then after one song you look again and there are now 6 people ahead of you and and some people sing 2 or 3 times before you sing once. I dont mind paying $1 to sing karaoke, but then maybe have someone dedicated to running the show and keeping it fair between all singers, not just the bartenders favorite people or people paying more to be bumped up the line or whatever is going on. It has happened to me every single time Ive gone and it almost ruins the experience.
I had such a great time here. Karaoke was lit! Highly recommend, good vibes and cheap drinks. I would’ve rated higher if the staff hadn’t taken my drinks before 2 AM and kicked everyone out to have their own private party. The AUDACITY! I was shocked when my drink went missing after I sang the final song of the night and everyone was getting escorted out at 1:20 AM. Luckily, I used their bathroom one last time. When I walked out, I witnessed the staff pouring each other drinks and about to get turnt! I was GOBSMACKED! I felt left out and wishing I was able to finish my margarita. Will come back again but I’ll be clutching my drink for dear life.
Even if you’re there four hours before they close, you’re lucky if you get just one song on the list. In most karaoke places they use an algorithm to make sure people signing up for the first time that night will get ahead, so that everyone will get to sing at least one song - instead of three, four people doing six songs each, like it is in this bar. The bartenders can really sing and they make good cocktails, but the female bartender was really rude and unprofessional when it came to the question of signing up for two songs, and they always prioritize their regulars. She made my whole experience bad. I really don’t feel welcomed there because of that bartender, you have to wait a minimum of 2,5 hours for one song (if you’re lucky) and I will therefor definitely recommend another karaoke bar in town. I’ve been to karaoke bars in 16 different countries, and this is by far the worst. But if you don’t want to participate at all and just want to enjoy the show, I’d give it a 4/5 (except for the bartender). The sound is good and the regulars are really great singers.
Rude owner wanted 20 dollars to sing a song. I was on the list and kept getting bumped back. I stayed at number 13 for 2 hours!! He only wants money. Be aware owner only wants bribes! SCAM Artists!!! Only way you will get a song to sing. He caters to his locals and locals only. If you are from out of town do not go. It was very uncomfortable and very biased. Thought I would treat my wife to a song that she loved but they never let me. Although people who came after me where allowed to sing. I have never been treated like this! Then he disrespected me but I’m on vacation so I will never go back and let all my followers not to go there!!!!!
Lovely little bar. Its tucked inside of a hotel so it might be easy to miss but the drinks are delicious and the bartenders are fun & personable, very welcoming vibe. They recently refreshed their drink menu and its all very tasty. It wasnt super busy but I did go early and heard it gets busier after 9 pm. Would definitely go back!
It’s tucked inside a hotel so you have to look for it. It was totally packed, but bartenders are quick to give service and were nice! Decent drink prices and the drinks were made well. My friends and I had a fun time listening and singing with the crowd during karaoke!
Cant even go there because there is no parking for miles around the place. Not worth wasting the time.
Enjoy singing here. They get a lot of people wanting to sing so expect to wait a good amount of time for your turn. Otherwise, fun environment. Crowd gets into the kareoke. Staff is fun, people seem to generally behave themselves. Place gets crowded and its not a very big bar. Standing room only many times.
We always come here when we vacation. Such a warm and friendly bar.
Had a lot of fun here! Great drink selection and reasonable prices. Did get very crowded so recommend getting there early to find a spot at the bar. Karaoke was very popular so if you do get there later you may have to wait for your song to get to play. Also song are cheap only a dollar, just have to use their online system to request a song
Had a blast here. Singing karaoke drinking a few drinks that were very inexpensive compared to other places in the area. The bartenders were attentive and fun. Had a great time
Love this place! The best karaoke bar ever. The staff are like family. Neal is so friendly and sweet. Hes also a cutie. When you visit look for him. Randy is also super awesome and Chelsea can sing like a super star. I cant wait to go when the restrictions are lifted. The owner of the place is always present and also very sweet and nice. He engages with all the customers and you would never know he was the owner. Wish they would expand tho.
Was there when the hosts were 3 lovely guys… the sounds system was very good, mic volume you can hear yourself and great reverbs or effects but tonight Wednesday 14th Sept 2022. It was awful the setup was not worth $1 per song. The hosts were girls. Not consistent and even the customers not just me requested for the mic to be turned up bit. The long curly haired host suggested tomake the paying customer to SUFFER.I love the place and ambience the first visit and impression. Sadly only one TOILET FOR LIKE 50 to 60 people in the venue. Hit and miss. I don’t RECOMMEND.
Returned to WCs to find theyve moved and upgraded the space. Music wasnt uncomfortably loud, which was a plus. Wireless mics and multiple screens means you can sing from wherever. LGBTQ-friendly/-forward.Bartenders are friendly, and call out song names only, not singers names, which can sometimes lead to mic-hogging. Single all-gender bathrooms. The bar has some bottlenecks which lead to clustering but otherwise, fairly easy to spread out. Songs are a dollar each, and can be added to your tab, which is awesome.A must-visit for karaoke lovers in Waikiki. YOU SING MEOW!
Very busy on a Friday night, took a little to get a drink but very fun place. Pay a dollar to have your song played. Pretty spacious area with separate party room for rent.
Disrespectful bartender. My friend was singing a song and she interrupted him and didn’t let him finish the song, called him old. After we tried to figure out why she did that, she got really upset and asked us to leave for no reason. And guess what, she called the police because we wanted to stay and sing our song! When we went out, there were 3 police cars. People downstairs and police said it’s not her first time harassing customers. I don’t understand why she is still working there. We’ve also been waiting for 20 minutes to get served with drinks, bartenders were simply ignoring us. Weird spot.
Wow! What a fun and lively place to have a few drinks at. The employees were incredible and were singing and dancing with everyone. The support people showed to the singers was pretty cool. It was one of the most welcoming bars Ive been too and I will definitely be back!
This was a fun place to go to. They are very strict though you have to have a test taken within 48 hours to get in or have to get vaccinated. Karaoke was fun but your not allowed to leave the booth to interact with the crowd. Everyone was really nice and helpful. It is nice that they have lysol wipes and mic cover for every singer.
What a fabulous karaoke bar. I loved the online sign up system for singing! The staff was super sweet and helpful. The drinks were creative, unique, and tasty; I’ve never seen anything like them at any other bar. You will need your smartphone to fully enjoy this place, it is definitely a 21st century bar.
Took shots and left, just felt kind of boring in there. We were also not gay. But gay bars can still be fun when you’re straight lol
I was impressed by the caliber of karaoke singers here. The bartenders can actually sing (one of them perfectly harmonized with someone singing karaoke... WHILE mixing up drinks!), and so can the clientele... until after midnight or so. There were lots of fun people here, and everyone was very friendly. I went alone but had made a couple friends by the end of the night. The karaoke starts out pretty tame, but it gets a little rowdier by the end of the night. Still, its not what Id call clubby, which I was happy about. It was the right mix of rowdiness and people just hanging out. Also, the bartenders were friendly, and the drinks were reasonably priced. I came around 8:00 or 9:00 and stayed until the bar closed around 2:00.
Had a great time until one of the patrons flashed a white power symbol and flicked us off while we were just harmlessly enjoying the place. Apparently this person was close to one of the bartenders there. We quickly we left as it was no longer welcoming. What a shame as the drinks were good and the staff were friendly for the most part.
Only 1 bathroom stall for men & women in whole bar
Vibe was great but then around 1 am the bartender called last call and by 1.10 am he aggressively turned everything off and on a microphone forced people to chug their drinks. Incredibly uncomfortable and several patrons vomited outside the establishment. Like he screamed that we need to chug our drink and leave the place, despite a 2 am close time. Ruined our experience.
Such a welcoming environment. Back home, gay bars are very cliquey and you cant start a conversation with anyone. I was able to talk to people at the bar and I could tell that they were glad to have conversation with a new person. Karaoke was great. It felt more like a group of friends than strangers in the bar. Go here!!! You will not regret it!
The staff were very friendly. We received a complimentary glass of Champagne in honor of our honeymoon/marriage. Not used to paying to sing karaoke.. This may be a Hawaii thing. We paid $1 a song. We ate the popcorn chicken and it was horrible. Extremely chewy like it was cooked improperly. I didnt believe I was eating chicken.
Ive been coming to Wangs for five years now, and lovingly call it my Cheers. The bartenders are all fun, friendly, and accepting. The times Ive seen people get upset with the bartenders are when those patrons were acting straight fools. Because it is an open bar, pass the mic karaoke environment people often sing others songs which is the quickest way to get the attention of a bartender. All they ask is you be respectful during the karaoke experience , and dont act a fool...not much to ask of adults. The food and drinks are great too, and they change their featured drink and food menus fairly regularly. There are many reasons this is my Cheers, just act like a respectful adult and youll have a blast Im sure.
They only let their friends sing. She cant mix incredible hulk, but Blane meHer friends cant sing so they kick us out bc we can sing better
By far the best karaoke bar or just bar in general I’ve been to in a while. The bartenders, though busy, were very attentive and friendly. The crowd and atmosphere was perfect. Drinks are priced fair. When we visit Oahu again this will definitely be a place we have on our list to stop by.
So awesome. Fun vibe and fun crowd....great cocktails. Also the point of sale system this bar has in place (TabbedOut) blew our minds. Our friends kept talking about how every gay bar and every restaurant should use it. Way to go guys for forging the way for the rest of the pack to follow!
Meh! Read so many great reviews on this place so I planned a huge group night out there while vacationing there - I was pretty disappointed. The sound system, music tracks and way of putting songs in are all pretty bad. The service was mediocre, they were friendly enough, but our group felt pretty ignored for the most part. Getting drinks was quite the feat. The menu isnt exactly extensive by any means, and no one in our group that ordered food was that impressed. I might be picky at this point, but when a place is rated 4.5, I have pretty high expectations. We made our own fun and moved on to another place pretty quick!Go to In Between Bar instead for your karaoke needs. Its tiny, but we liked it WAY more there.
Had a great time until I got the check, not itemized, would not give me one and the bill was outrageous. I have NEVER paid that much in a bar tab, even at a Five star location. And I assure you this is not a Five star location of anything.
Saw the bartender kick out a Marine for what seemed to be at random. When we asked why, the bartender said, He didnt seem that drunk, I just didnt like the way he responded when I told him he needed to leave.Still confused. Wouldnt go here if youre military unless you want to see someone who makes minimum wage go on a power trip.
Worst place ever. Please choose right before you go here. The are really selective on who goes here. They will kick you out easily if you are not the right singer
If you are looking for a fun and laid back atmosphere away from the madness of Waikiki, look no further. With a unique and hilarious drink menu and an endless list of songs to karaoke to, Wang Chungs is a guaranteed good time. Frequented by locals and operated by super friendly staff, my girlfriend and I felt completely welcomed the second we stepped in. Loved the vibe. Loved the hospitality. I will definitely be back my next trip back to Oahu! Good times!
I went on a Monday on the early side I’m sure the vibe is different later or in the weekend. If I were just eating the staff it would be higher—they were very nice. Karaoke is done by passing the mic around and people sang from their chairs which just wasn’t my style (prefer either a stage situation or private rooms). That said I’d return on a future trip to give it another shot
This is the BEST bar in Waikiki, nicest staff and you feel safe going in solo, and walking out with lots of friends.
Went with a group of 20. Asked if we were doing something wrong. Asked the guests, all agreed we did nothing wrong. Other than be international. Spent $200 and got kicked out.
Back in Michigan I do karaoke 3, sometimes 4 times a week. There was no organization whatsoever. Some people were singing 3 or more , when I waited for 1 1/2 hours and never sang. It was obvious they played favorites!! Dont know if we will back!! Very dissapointed!!
Pleasant surprise, all patrons even bartenders are professional karaoke singers! Great drinks, great folks! Looking forward to seeing you Again during my visit.Aloha!🌺
Was looking for a fun lively place to have a couple cocktails after a long day. Took a 15 minute walk to this place. Upon entering I quickly noticed the place had multiple spots that had not been cleaned up yet. I sat down at the only clean place. I noticed two gentlemen starring at me intensely. I looked away and then glanced over and they were still staring so I threw em a Shaka - no Shaka backed but still staring. I almost said something but instead just left. Bad vibes at least on this night. Place was dumpy as well.
November 2014: this place is still the best bar in Hawaii and I would have to say the world. The staff are so friendly and the people are great. I wouldnt listen to any negative reviews. Seriously if you come in you are treated like a friend. And the new bar is big and gorgeous.June 2013…One of the best and friendliest karaoke bars I have ever been to. Great crowd, friendly staff, lots of locals come here as well. Whenever Im in Hawaii I always go back to Wang Chungs. Definitely worth a visit!
Bought 7 green tea shots and woke up to a $126 dollar charge. I have an extremely hard time believing these drinks were close to $18 a pop. Attempted to call to resolve the issue but all i got was an answering machine and no option to leave a message. Cannot give a place a good rating when i feel ripped off.
This place was good. But there is a white bold guy that seemed to have had a problem with us. He kept us in a small corner while moving all new AND existing customers to the bar. We explicitly told him we wanted to be moved out of the corner but he never did, and kept ignoring us.
There’s a lot of drunk straight people, who sing here occasionally. 90% of the singers are the same three or four people, a few of which work here.
They have a strict policy on not bringing your own drinks in; this is weird for a hotel lobby but understandable as a standalone business. I was staying with a friend at Stay Hotel and brought a drink down from the room and was immediately kicked out, no questions asked. I apologized, tried to explain I made a legitimate mistake and offered to buy a drink but the bartender was more interested in kicking me out than understanding the mistake I acknowledged and offered to make right. Fun bar but the bartenders are very strict and lack empathy from customers.
DO NOT go there if you’re straight OR black, my friends and I (black) went there, the bartender Chelsea was very rude to us, she plainly ignored us while trying to order our drinks & asked us to move out of the way once we paid. She deliberately skipped us on the karaoke line & when we asked for a refund she says “I’m taking this out of my money”…
You gotta go to Wang Chungs on Wednesday nights if you wanna sing couple of karaoke songs. There sound system is awesome! On the other days, theyre always busy. The staff is always so nice and attentive. Were sad that they dont serve food there anymore.😔
Wang Chungs is where to be. Friendly staff does have to be a little strict due to the mandates during covid so just follow the rules so they can stay open. The drinks are amazing, my go to is the old fashion. Tips: go early to secure seats, dont hog the mic, and lastly have fun. The environment is welcoming and I always felt like this was a safe space to be yourself.
Reasonable prices, karaoke was so much fun! If you install the app you can order drinks and karaoke songs from wherever youre sitting. Super convenient, I wish every bar had this!
Wonderful karaoke bar! Amazing song selection, fairly priced drinks, friendly patrons and staff. There is a lady bartender who absolutely throws down on karaoke while she serves - why she is serving here and not showcasing her vocal talents elsewhere is beyond me, but that is a conversation for another day 😂
I will never forget my experiences in Hawaii. This hole in the wall bar left me with nights Ill never forget. Everyone here loves everyone. Everyone is having fun. Im gonna tear up thinking about my time. Also, the bartenders sing great, and serve you quickly.
If I could Id give this establishment Zero stars I would but I have to rate with a star to leave a comment. The bartenders were awful and extremely rude. I was looking forward to exploring another LQBTQA+ hang spot and was highly disappointing. I do not recommend coming here, dont waste your time.
Its quite small, its a little out of the way, theres no parking and the drinks are only so-so. So why 4 stars? It has a lot of character. The bartenders are a colorful crew, the regulars felt pretty welcoming, and th prices seemed reasonable. Its not the swankiest joint in town but its within walking distance of most of Waikiki. If you expect a hole in the wall, youll probably be pleasantly surprised. If you expect a karaoke PALACE, youll only disappoint yourself.
Really fun spot. Was kind of hard to find though because it’s inside of another building. But they were really covid-cautious and the it was so quick and easy to get drinks! My friend and I visited twice during our short weekend trip.
I put in for a song and waited and waited. Just as the song came up (Sweet Caroline), the bar tender/manager deleted it. Just beware of she doesnt like your song choice, its going to be deleted.
Wow, what talent sings! Awesome place to take your Crew! Great drinks and great singers. Short walk from the Hilton!
Very friendly hole in the wall bar. Clean and nice contrast to Dukes and the other crowded overpriced bars across the street. Well kept, good bartenders
Super friendly guys behind the bar that were smiling and having fun with the guests. If Karaoke is your thing then you cant go wrong.
Cool bar, nice ambience. Love the karaoke.
Fun fun fun! great bar & karaoke spot in Waikiki. yummy drinks & food. fun place to hang & people watch w friends! no parking though, so be prepared to park elsewhere & walk in, or get dropped off.
Here’s my story. I walked in and within 5 mins some random guy starts hitting on me. I hit on him back because he’s cute. Within a couple of minutes an Asian bartender broke up our conversation. He was very rude and disrespectful he than said he was the guys boyfriend. I told him I did not know but he refused to sell me any drinks at the bar and also told the other bartenders to do the same. Never even got to get a drink. Wow how petty. They should fire that idiot, that’s if Wang Chungs cares about their reputation. How many more people has he been rude to?
This is the best karaoke bar Ive ever been to. Im not kidding. Wish I were a producer because Id sign so many of these peeps!!!
It seemed like a nice bar. Fun karaoke. Hire more bartenders so I can order a drink under 20 minutes and I’ll give 5 stars.
Fun karaoke bar. Not exactly a gay bar, but staffed by a very friendly group of gentlemen. Great song selection and a great, welcoming atmosphere for pass-the-mic sing from the seat karaoke.
Theyre open! I went there Friday night and had a great time. Happy hours are from 6-9pm, and they arent serving food at the moment. Just give them a call for more info, their website and Google maps isnt updated yet.
First time in Hawaii from Australia/New Zealand. Great drinks and Jelly shots! Fantastic Fun! Cant wait to go back! Dont be shy, The staff are amazing!
Beyond amazing! get their green marajuana drink its called!! great service awesome people!I brought group of bout 20 everyone got wasted and loved it here!
Joshua is a killer bartender. Casey is a super-sweet doorwoman. Small place, eclectic. Great venue for karaoke and drinks. A hidden gem. This place is fun.
It is beyond me how a karaoke bar can operate this close to hotels and stay open blasting music into the streets until 3 am with no limitations. Id rather sleep with the homeless on Waikiki beach than stay in a hotel near this bar ever again.
Knew this bar since little Wangs and since expanding, more people, myself included, have continually loved this bar!!! The awesome customers and community really make this bar what it is. One reason I love this place is because you can walk in here and walk out having made friends that will last you a lifetime. If you want a place with amazing vibes, you’ll love this place!! Just please... don’t sing journey! Lol jk... kinda..
The girl bartending tonight was a nightmare. I had trouble ordering and she ridiculed me loudly for not knowing the bars particular method of ordering. I hope she isnt there when I come back. Cute bar besides their service.
Great service, fun atmosphere, tasty unique drinks, so glad I stopped in on my recent visit. Thank you!
The drinks, service, and David, the owner are fantastic. First went out of curiosity... Stayed all night. My visits to Hawaii always include at least one night at Wang Chungs!
You pay for the karaoke songs and are placed on a queue. First of all, if Im paying for food and drinks I dont think I should be paying to sing a karaoke song. The rules stated you could only have 2 songs in queue at a time but people were singing 3-4 songs back to back. Then after waiting an hour for my song to come up, the bartender tells me hes switching the order and pushes my song back. I paid just like everyone else, so it was not fair. Someone at the bar told me the woman tipped him so that she could move up in the order. Some bs!
Fun place to stop in for a cocktail! The people and bartenders are friendly, have a surprisingly good cocktail menu, and have decent pricing for Waikiki. Pop in and see whats going on
After wondering around Waikikis backstreets, dodging tourists and prostitutes, we were starting to sour on Honolulu. And then we found Wang Chungs, a bedroom-sized karaoke joint, at the back of an otherwise inconspicuous alley. We walked in at 11 pm, not knowing a soul in the place, and stumbled out at 2 pm with the entire bar in a drunken, happy chorus line. Thanks for showing us mainlanders a good time, Wang Chung.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. Very fun. The bartenders can all sing and they fill in the gaps to pick up unsung songs so its not all unbearable singing by drunks, but a lot of the regulars can sing too. Go here
If you like Karaoke, I guess it is okay for that type of person. Not impressed with the staff as well as the crowd mix. Food is not all that despite the over embellished menu verbiage.
Best karaoke bar. Period. Dont care what city youre from. Portland? Never heard of it. Karaoke lives here.
Had so much fun! Very chill Environment. If you like karaoke, make sure you pick your songs through their website and have fun singing!
Super onolicious frolics Hawaii pop up today on bishop and King st.Parking was a hassle but love the spirit and the cute stamped packed lunch! Super friendly staff and was so easy to grab and go!The tamales were amazing with great flavor!Rice was a little mushy and had little seasoning or flavor.Loved the pinto beans!Salsa was spectacular ♡The Fortune cookie was a bonus on this Kung hey fat choi ♡Many mahalos and much aloha ♡
Wish we would have gone here sooner. Great atmosphere. Good prices on drinks and fun times doing karaoke.
My absolute favorite Waikiki karaoke bar. The bartenders sing which is refreshing. And their menu delicious. I always have a great time here.
Great place, excellent staff, good vibes, and a fun bunch of people of all ages. Time flies by every time Im there. Will definitely be back.
1 star for decor, 2nd star for having lycheetinis- but the service and karaoke are terrible. There is no stage, no singing order, and when someone sings the song you PAID for- they wont restart it for you. Maybe this is what the Japanese tourists are used to, but I certainly not. Will never be returning.
Horrible. Female bartender had it for me as soon as she saw me. I’m a very nice and considerate person, so I’m just shocked. Don’t come here.
Brought our bachelor party here to meet up with the bachelorette party towards the end of the night. Good energy all night to keep the party going! Karaoke was fun for everyone.
Great place and atmosphere. Late it got so crowded you could not find the microphone but a good time was had by all. No KJ. Just karaoke jukebox.
Lovely karaoke bar with good vibes and friendly people. We are from Taiwan and came to Hawaii for honeymoon, lots of fun and precious memories here.
Fun karaoke place. Good vibes from everyone, and seems like its visited by locals and tourists.Does not serve food anymore, but they allow you to bring food from outside.
This place is a mixture of straight and gay clientele and everything in between:) the bartenders are friendly and pour great drinks at a surprisingly reasonable price, most of the time the karaoke singers are pretty decent but everyone is welcome, even if you arent the next American idol lol I live in Los Angeles and visit Waikiki several times a year and I always look forward to havi ng a few cocktails and enjoying the fun and friendly vibe at this bar, the few negative things I can say would be that there is only one unisex bathroom that can form a bit of a line and if you do like to karaoke you better get their early to put in your song because the que to sing can get very long but thats because its so much fun :)
Unlike any other karaoke Ive been to. A party every night! Its just a huge room with a bar and everyone hanging out like family.
Fun place! The staff is very friendly. We had a great time and went back for a second visit during our stay.
Super fun karaoke bar, youll hear beautiful voices performing here! Bartenders are super friendly and amazing!
Amazing time!!! Super welcoming crowd with a mix of young twentys to late 40s. Nice staff that keep the crowd entertained and energized! Will definitely be there again!
It was a fun place, that I was sad to only now be discovering. It was nice to go for early morning karaoke. I look forward to the brunch drag show.
Great vibes, great staff. Easy ordering. Lots of fun enjoying the singing. Great drinks. A lot of fun
Great food. Lots of songs. Happy hour from 5:30pm to 8pm. Friendly staff. OMG the okonomiyaki tots are to die for 😍.
Must visit. Small joint but a hell of a time. Awesome bartenders, fun karaoke booth setup.
The bar is very nice but for a karaoke place there are too many rules, also, why should I pay 1$ to sing a song?
Terrible bartender service...they look at you after waiting a long time and do NOT help you, instead those they know. As if you are not worthy of their seevice and not friendly at all. EXCUSE YOU
The best gay bar in Waikiki, now in a much bigger location, and serving food, but still with the same great bartenders and karaoke. Friday and Saturday night get very busy!
You feel welcome instantly. We came for brunch were not dissapointed! Limited menu but all of the items are delicious!
The food and drinks have witty names and the service is always friendly here. Dont worry about having dinner before/after drinks, the food here is awesome!
Bartenders are first class and the karaoke is all inclusive fun and perfect location
Dan and the WC Staff are so welcoming and loving of all guests. Food is onoliscious and the Karaoke is so much fun!
Great bar with reasonably priced drinks and a fun crowd. Had a great time singing :))
One of the best Ive ever been too!!! Separate booths, a separate booth to sing in, heavy handed drinks.. wonderful time!
Best place EVER! I went back every night on my vacation and was greeted like and old friend. Now that Im back I will be there every weekend just to enjoy the atmosphere ^_^
Cute Gay Karaoke Bar with wonderful drinks I got the old fashioned
Its tiny. At first youll be uncomfortable but just roll with it and youll have the best night of your life singing and sweating with strangers. I wish I could give it 6 stars... or even ten.
I brought my sister here to sing... youre welcome!! Very fun place and vibes.
Great place! I loved it, great bartenders, good atmosphere, great food, right in Waikiki center, will definitely come back if Im ever back in Waikiki!
A good time - friendly staff, very entertaining! Decent selection of beer and good selection of drinks. Stop by!
Left me sitting at the counter for 30 minutes.. served everyone around me.. I tried to get tenders attention. They didn’t care about me. Save it, go where everyone’s welcome
Nice place, good food, great bartender, and an open karaoke bar with 1$ a song. Overall, pretty nice and chill
Best bar in Waikiki, the staff is extremely friendly, drinks are cheap and the food that was added to the menu is amazing. Ask for a Chinese bear hug!
Best bar in Waikiki! Amazing staff, great drinks, cool vibe and squeaky clean bathroom.
Always fun, great local beer, delicious cocktails & original comic book style drink menus by local Drag Queens.
A cool place to go for karaoke and cheap drinks. There is Sunday drag brunch that is cool mimosas and a plate for a reasonable price.
Fun times singing together, killer bartender and good vibes all around. Cant really complain having a great time.
Wang Chungs is a fun bar with some exceptional talent. This small bar has good atmosphere.
Fun place to sing a few songs and get a couple of drinks in Waikiki. Friendly owner, waitresses and patrons!
TINY! Cheap drinks are almost worth listening to the singing... few good singers and the rest were slurring locals... if thats your mood, go for it :)
The bartender with the tattoos is the worst ever. Very bad for business!!! Get rid of him
This place is awesome! Bar staff fantastic and sooooo much fun !
Fun little Karaoke Bar inside Laylo w Hotel. Theres always a long wait to sing your song but fun atmospher
Had so much fun at Wang Chungs karaoke bar. My friends and I came on a Thursday night and it was a great time.
Had so much fun excellent atmosphere and the drinks are delicious and fabulously named.
Beautiful experience! Love the full audience participation :)
Had a great time when we came on vacation, met some great ppl! Friendly place for Karaoke!
Great food. Great karaoke. Many songs. Dan and his staff are awesome!
AMAZING! Great atmosphere, decent priced drinks, great bartenders! Had a blast.
Had a blast with some friends! The bartenders were friendly and their mules are really solid.
Best lil place in Waiks for relaxation amongst friendly crowd admist awaiting traffic easement before heading home after a day at the office, as if, you ever leave yet stay for sing~a~song along the chillaxed crowd, ha!
Хорошая атмосфера. Вкусные коктейли. Основной контингент,это геи и лесбиянки.(Translated by Google)Nice atmosphere. Delicious cocktails. The main contingent is gays and lesbians.
This place is a joke. Staff is RUDE as hell if you arent a regular. Dont waste your time or money 👌
Fun times plenty if songs and encouraging patrons. This was an outstanding place.
Most friendly bar ever. I swear the pump in happy air.everyone is always happy and friendly.
An awesome night out friendly bar great fun singing!!
Trust me. They do not accept everyone. Discrimination at its finest. Never again.
Popular karokee bar with tourists and locals located right on the first floor inside the Stay hotel.
This is the absolute best karaoke bar!! All of the staff is amazing, and they can all sing!!!!
This place is awesome, if your looking for kareoke in a friendly relaxed atmosphere look no further.
“The happy hour crowd was small - only one other couple (honeymooner), the bartender (who was fantastic), and a solo guy.”
Thuper fun GAY karaoke bar. Needs more airline decor.
Great karaoke but I feel this is a local spot....bar is a little small.
Fun place, would be way cooler if there was an actual human karaoke host.
Super fun but very hard to get into and even harder to sing.
Small bar but great cocktails and amazing atmosphere!
A great little bar a few blocks away from the beach. Talented singers too.
Love this place! Lychee martinis and tons of fun! Everyone is so friendly. 🌈❤
The local vibe is amazing and welcoming! Had a fun time singing!
Friendly and fun!! No judgments! Awesome bartenders and patrons!
Great atmosphere. Amazing drinks. Amazing service and food.
The best karaoke I’ve ever been! Still dreaming about it )
This place had great drink specials, friendly bartenders, and a great vibe.
So fun! Just often poor service and its a small bar. But fun!!!!
So much fun - great drinks, great ambience - loved it
Great bar with fantastic drinks and really good food.
Fantastic food! Seriously ridiculous great brunch, and the mimosas are fantastic!
