I booked a last minute appointment and was lucky enough to be booked with Tabitha with the assistance of Lisa. Staff was friendly and very helpful in finding the right therapist for my pain symptoms. I flew down to Florida to visit family this weekend and the air pressure aggravated my muscles intensely due to a spinal fusion I had a long time ago so I had a severe tension headache for a few days. Tabitha knew exactly what to do to relieve my pain and soften the masses of scar tissue that stiffen up often. I prefer deep pressure and her pressure throughout the session was perfect. I’ve had 1,000s of massages because of my spinal condition and this was definitely in the top 10. She even gave me new tips to help with aftercare as well. Tabitha is a gift and she truly seemed to care about helping me alleviate my pain. I’ll definitely be pre-booking the next time I come down to Florida with Tabitha - I don’t think I’ll get lucky twice!

My boyfriend and I got a couples massage today, as a Christmas gift from his brother and SIL. It was both of our first times getting a massage and it was absolutely incredible! The whole car ride home we could not stop talking about how we wish we could get massaged for 24 hrs straight. I definitely recommend! Staff was very friendly and respectful!

It was my first time having a massage and I had an awesome first impression. The personal was polite and professional applying the perfect pressure to make you relax. The whole environment was set to perfection with warm sheets, oils, hot stones, music and smells for an extraordinary experience. I loved it!!

Today was my first visit and the reviews are definitely true. Bernard performed the most relaxing massage that Ive had in a very long time. I highly recommend him as a professional yet very personable masseuse. You wont be disappointed!

3/5 as the facial lady was very experienced and did a good job and massage was okay too. But I would give 1/5 to the receptionist, she is not good at handling customer. The policy that they have sucks, I planned a surprise for my sister, the appointment was for 3pm, my sister reached by 3:20pm. The package included massage for 1 hour and 1 hour of facial and they charged me at the time of booking the appointment. I informed the lady from before that the customer might be late by 15-20 mins. The receptionist was like we could do only half an hour of massage and 1 hour of facial then. The spa wasn’t flexible at all, if you are late by even 10 minutes, they will reduce that from your service, neither would they provide a refund(in my case they could have charged worth half an hour for massage) as that is the time of service they provided. But they charged for 1 hour. If you want to reschedule they will charge 40$ extra for each service. I took a package and now that i learnt the individual service it is lesser, so she over charged me. Every-time i called they had a different price, i still trusted them as she said the other staff might have been confused. They will not even provide you as basic as a spa gown. They are inflexible about there timings, refund, customer service but expect a gratuity. Gratuity is to be earned when a customer is beyond satisfied and not a compulsion when you are so bad at customer service. I trusted them based on the ratings. Don’t do the same mistake i did. One of the worst spa’s i have encountered so far.

I Tired to book a massage for my husband and I & I was told I can book it via text. However, the representative asked for both of our names. When I texted her the names this was the response!! The issue I have with this is that I’m not “obligated” to leave anything! What if I wasn’t satisfied with the service? If you’re running a business u have to be able to understand that everybody won’t tip!

We were a bit late and it was my fault because I went to the wrong address innitially, but the staff was accommodating and flexible. I treated my parents to a day spa package and the staff made sure I was able to relax as well. No complaints! I had a lovely and relaxed afternoon with my parents. Thank you!

My massage session was more of minimum effort cheap oils rubbing session. The session was 40 mins, not 45 or 50. My masseuse did not seem experienced. It was a waste of time and money.I am a real person, not a paid reviews bot!

The therapist my mom had, and another therapist working there that I chatted with for a while we’re just lovely. My mom said several times how well her therapist did in meeting her massage needs. I did not rate it four or five stars solely due to the front desk girl. She was very sassy and unfriendly. She acted bothered that we were even there, quite frankly. I don’t believe I’d go back or recommend it to friends or family just because of this experience.

Customers beware!!I just moved to Jacksonville about 5 months ago, and Ive been looking for a new massage place close to my house. I decided to give this place a try. Not a good decision. I called and booked an appointment for 3pm. I arrived 15 minutes early. Came inside and filled out all the required paperwork. A (woman) came out and called my name. ((Hanna)) As I looked up I saw a VERY intimidating woman??? with a beard!. My first impression was like Sean, have an open mind. I go into the room and get undressed. By this time it was 3:15pm, and the massage began. I expressed that my major troubled areas were my neck and shoulders. I came in with knots in my shoulders... (and left with knots) she could tell that they were there, and only spent 5 min working on the area. Her pressure was not constant. The entire massage was not relaxing at all. The light was extremely bright, and the music was very loud. She hardly used any oil during the massage. . The majority of the massage she sat in a chair. She had very heavy breathing the entire massage, that alone made it very difficult to relax. She then says the massage is now over, and too hey dressed and come out. I look at the time and at this point it is 3:45! Im like I paid for a 60 min massage and only receiving 45min. Out of respect I tiped her and left. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and will definitely not return. Id highly recommend you go elsewhere!!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I purchased a voucher from Groupon for my parents. They took off work for their booked day that was given by the spa. My mom reminder received text messages everyday up until the day of their appointment. About an hour before the appointment, they were TEXTED, and told that the appointment would be canceled.My mom had an issue that they were being texted this information along with the person on the other end being rude. Someone not only hung up in my moms face but marked the voucher as redeemed without services being rendered or me just getting my money back. Now we cant get an answer on the phone. Just text messages stating that someone would be reaching out with no call backs. I am not happy and I guess Ill have to do a walk- in since I cant seem to get anyone on the phone. Smmfh

Great massage. My husband and I had a couples massage and enjoyed every moment of it. Bernard and Tabitha hit all the right spots with the right amount of pressure. The best thing is the price! A couples massage at Essentials is significantly less than any other places we have been to. Overall, great value for a great service!

Booked a spa package for both myself and my husband for our honeymoon. I do want to point out that spa packages are non-refundable. I called back the same day to change the date, I had forgotten that we needed to leave early to the airport and was told that I would be given a gift card. That wasnt going to work because I live in Colorado. Anyways, I was able to reschedule for another day during our time in Florida and it all worked out. My package included a massage, which was absolutely fabulous. I would highly recommend. I was having hip/ lower back pain and the massage helped alleviate that. I will be visiting again if I am ever in Jacksonville. I also received a age defy facial. The esthetician was very kind and informative. I think the age defy was too harsh for my face. I broke out and had irritation on my neck for three weeks. I did mention that my face felt like it was burning, but wasnt sure if it was part of the process. I also enjoyed a foot massage (machine). It wasnt my favorite. I felt that the machine could be a little rough on the feet and left our feet sore. While we were in there, we had complimentary wine and cheese/crackers. I would highly recommend booking a massage.

We did the couples massage and it was amazing and so relaxing! Everyone was very nice and professional! I would definitely go back.

So I called to get a Groupon sale . The price on the Groupon was $ 65 dollars if you use the promo you pay $ 42 dollars and it only apply a for during the week so then the manager said it was $80 dollars when the original price is $ 65 dollars original price. The manager said it’s different products they use for the &80 dollars so the $65 dollar is bogus - This place is a scam . I would not recommend this place They probably charge $80 ans use cheapProducts .

Awesome facial with Nicole! She was attentive, and I told her it was my first time getting one done. She explained everything step-by-step, and you would be silly not to go visit her with how comfortable you feel. I woke up the next day, and this is the best my face has ever felt. I did find this place using a Groupon, but it will definitely be my go-to spot. I have melasma, so Im paranoid about the products/processes done on my face. I was able to get a vitamin c/aloe mask that felt awesome. I never felt pressured to buy anything, but after she explained what the products did. I was also able to buy a sample. Now, seeing the actual results after a few days, Im absolutely buying their products.

I loved my massage I usually go for relaxation but I requested a mix of pressure. I sit a lot and I needed it due to hunching over a lot. Bernard was my masseur and he did an awesome job. He checked in with me throughout my massage and when he used the hot towels and stones. I left relaxed and refreshed and he gave me a cup of water to rehydrate as well. Go see Bernard there is a reason he stays booked!

I previously posted a review as someone who has used Essentials Massage throughout Florida. I do not recommend location. I, like others, have experienced poor customer service with the receptionists. Their attitudes range from apathetic to just plain rude. If I’m coming to your business to relax, this isn’t the welcome I want.I purchased a Groupon to come back, and scheduled it with what should’ve been enough time after a doctor’s appointment. Unfortunately, the Doctor’s appointment ran MUCH longer than anticipated, something which I had no control over, and it would’ve made me 15 minutes late. I called as a courtesy, seeing if they’d prefer to did the appointment or reschedule. Instead, they rigidly stuck to their cancellation policy. I’m not saying that they’re wrong for having one, but I was really looking forward to this massage after a hectic Christmas season, and I no control over what kept me from being on time. I was given the option to pay a $35 rescheduling fee or forfeit my $45 Groupon. Now I’m out $45, and they have money I don’t believe that they’ve earned.Essentials massage, I’m sure you’ll refute my review with your response, but I stand behind my review. Yes, you have a policy in place, and yes, I was running late. It has made me reconsider spending money I work really hard for on a business that exhibits no sympathy or flexibility.

I have been going here for little less than a year. They have good prices and good quality service. I have never had a bad massage here. They are always professional and pleasant to chat with. Ive referred others and theyve told me positive reviews as well. Cant beat the quality that they provide.

I HATE writing negative reviews about services I felt were less than impeccable ESPECIALLY when I attempted to resolve the situation internally. I had my first facial ever serviced by Nicole. AWESOME service!! So awesome that I booked another service to include my mother and husband getting facials and massages as well. The person who completed their facials was Colleen. Again, awesome service! However, the same person gave them massages, and they both equally hated the ”experience.”. My husband described it as someone touching you with the tips of their fingers as though they didn’t want to touch your skin. This was the same experience my mom described, and they had separate time-slots. On top of that, the technician that ”performed” their services. was coughing throughout the “experience.” I refuse to mention her name, because I feel as though hindering her from growing in her craft is not the goal of this review. I explained to my esthetician my concerns, and she immediately provided me with the name of the office manager, Lisa, who was not in the office at that time, and said that she would be reaching out to me. She raved about how the manager is all about conflict resolution, and that she would get back to us. We waited several days for her to get back to us and it never happened. It would be a week after our appointment that we called her. The manager, Lisa, did not show any care for our concerns and at some point the phone “accidentally“ hung up on us. We tried to call back and she said that she had taken another call but will call us back. When she called back, she sounded so unconcerned about our issue that we felt like we were bothering her. Not one time did she offer us anything not even an apology for the horrible “experience.” I paid good money for my family to have a similar experience as I did, and it almost felt as though she would prefer we never frequent their establishment again because we had a negative experience. The sad part about it is I really like my esthetician and felt as though this could be something that I’ll continue to receive at this establishment. I live in Saint Augustine, so this place is pretty far from home. I refuse to return and will make sure that none of my friends and family go there either. I believe that they think that they are dealing with poor Black people who are trying to get over. It’s never that! I spend a lot of money on good service all throughout Florida, enough so that I will take my money somewhere else and hope to receive a much better response to lackluster service if that’s what I encounter. I feel bad we’re going to have to disconnect from Nicole and Colleen because they were awesome! Also, there was an African-American female tech, Keisha who performed my massage and did great!! Perhaps they should put someone else in charge of customer service or a conflict resolution if it is their desire to retain customers.

I definitely recommend the day spa. I had a massage and a facial and spent some time in the sauna. Very relaxing, everyone was very professional and knowledgeable.

I had the best morning at Essentials Massage & Facial. I decided to end a tough week at Essentials taking advantage of their Spa Escape massage and facial package. Nicole did great with my deep cleansing facial and Bernard gave an amazing massage. To add the cherry on top, their service prices are very reasonable especially for the area the spa is located. I look forward to future services with their team! Big thanks to Nicole, Bernard and Lisa at the front desk for an exceptional experience!

Beware of the place and shady operation of this business. No reason for me to be specific and many reviews speak for themselves already. Front desk blond “Karen” is unprofessional and unpleasant, having someone like her as a first contact is already big no.

Cecile did my massage and she did an amazing job! I wanted her to focus on my neck, shoulders and back and she did just that plus messaged my whole body. I felt so relaxed after. I think I fell asleep during it😁

Rachel who did my massage was great. She was super friendly and listened to me on areas that were bothering me the most and she got a lot of my knots out.Nicole who did my facial was super friendly as well made me very relaxed while doing my facial as well as gave me recommendations on things to add to my skin care routine.

I’ve been here several times and decided I needed a spa day. Tabitha did a wonderful job with my deep tissue massage as did Nicole with my facial. I definitely need to go more often and plan to return soon!

I went for the first time and received a facial with Nicole and massage with Tabitha. Nicloe worked wonders on my face and cleaned out all my pores!! Tabitha applied just the right about of pressure for my massage! Both ladies did an amazing work and I would highly suggest this place to others!

Best massage ever! I’ve had hundreds of massages and Bernard by far gave me the best. This place is a hidden gem, and I want to shout it to the world. I’ve been in chronic pain since cancer treatment. When I left I felt like I was floating on a cloud. I booked another massage on my way out. Front desk associate was super nice as well. Everyone was kind and professional. Go see Bernard, he’s a game changer.

It was my first full massage experience here in the states and I was not disappointed. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The private rooms are nice and spacious and they even have private sitting rooms. I felt very relaxed and the entire staff was kind, polite, and attentive. I would definitely go back. My only complaint is that they arent open on Fridays or weekends so it makes planning a group spa day a bit difficult.

I was able to walk in and get a 60 minute massage within 15 minutes with Keisha. I was so pleased after driving over an hour for do a drop off procedure for my husband at the Mayo Clinic. So I was looking forward to just relax a little bit while waiting, and was was very impressed with the professionalism and care not only by Keisha but also the woman at the front desk who gave me great food recommendations while I wait. Keisha provided one of the most relaxing but also beneficial to my specific problem areas massage I’ve had in a long time!

I purchased a Groupon for couples massage. The young lady booked my appointment for Sunday October 19th, 2023 and I confirmed the appointment on October 5th, 2023. I don’t hear from them again until Friday October 13th, 2023 while I was working, asking for a redemption code. I was busy and could not respond so the next day they contacted me letting me know that my appointment was cancelled and they couldn’t do anything for me further because I did not give them a redemption code in time. I would not recommend this place unless you enjoy getting taken advantage of. And yes they charged me because they need a hold a certain amount to even book an appointment. So long story short they completely ripped me off and ruined a nice weekend that I had planned 3 weeks in advance. And they admitted to it being their fault for not getting the Groupon code when they booked the appointment.

Steven did excellent job! Will definitely come back to visit him again. Was very satisfied with my massage. was not too heavy, handed or rough but just right. Also was professional and make feel comfortable.

Lisa at the front desk was very welcoming upon arrival. My massage with Lana was a wonderful. Nice even pressure, deeper where I needed it and hot towels. Afterwards, Nicole gave me a 5 star facial. I schedule a couples massage for the first time. I happen to have Pat assigned as my therapist. Before my appointment I had read the reviews and noticed Pat was one who clients talked very highly, my experience was great i highly recommend her she’s very passionate about what she does and and gives 100% to make you feel comfortable. Can’t wait to go back thanks Pat! 🙏

10/10 recommend! Such a relaxing atmosphere, exceptional massage, and friendly staff. My husband and I received a couples massage (check Groupon for deals). My masseuse was Bernard and I highly recommend him! He did a fantastic job with the deep tissue and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. My husband had Lana who also seemed to have done a wonderful job.

We really enjoyed our couple’s massage. It was a truly peaceful experience. I would have liked the therapist to focus on the areas I did mention to her prior to our session. Other than that, our two therapists were great!

I was in need of a massage, i’m soo glad i came when i came! My masseuse was Patt and when she came to get me she was very welcoming and friendly. Im always nervous about getting a massage but she made me feel welcomed and safe. The massage was soo great and relaxing that i almost went to sleep! I will definitely be back!

I booked a couples massage for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing. I only wish the hour didn’t go by so fast, next time I’ll book an hour and a half because it was so nice and relaxing. They listened to the areas I wanted to focus more on. I booked a combo and it was the perfect combo of gentle and deep tissue. The prices were fair and the place was very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking. This was my first massage experience and now I want to come back weekly!

I requested a combo deep tissue and relaxation massage. I definitely only received a deep tissue. My areas of pain are my shoulders and lower back. The masseuse focused really heavily on my neck for a considerable amount of time. Definitely at least half of my 60 minutes was my neck. Not only that, it wasn’t the least bit relaxing. It was hurting so bad I started sweating under the table. Now my neck is in pain like I strained it in addition to my low back and shoulders. Besides that, I wasn’t asked to take my necklaces off. As a client, that’s not something I think about. It was irritating the whole massage having her rub over my necklaces. Additionally, lotion was just applied without asking about allergies. The service was stopped over 10 minutes early but I was grateful and didn’t complain.

Took my mom here for the first time for a spa day together. Everything was amazing & the staff is wonderful. We will definitely be doing back.

Very relaxing, and an extrremely professional staff.I signed up for the mixed level massage with some soft and some harder, yet quickly learned that I preferred the deep massage. I made one simple mention and she started doing deeper message everywhere, which was better for my stiff muscles.Only my second messsage ever, yet I will be back on a regular basis because I felt so much better afterwards.

Since we needed it for Monday (my husbands birthday) and I am pregnant, we had to have the massage at different times, but we were okay with it. They have a very relaxing waiting room. I’m from Georgia and come down for my birthday. My massage and facial was EVERYTHING. I fell asleep during both that’s how relaxing and peaceful it was. I will definitely visit again when I’m back in town.

Ms. Patt has miracle hands that puts you to sleep. It was an awesome experience. Ambience was excellent. The mix fragrance of lavender and orange was very pleasant. You can try them out. They even offer couple massages. It was a pleasant treat for myself and husband for our anniversary.

I got a massage and a facial today. Hannah’s massage gave me the first relief from lower back pain that I have ever had! Go see her for an awesome massage! After my first ever facial I received some skin care coaching. My face feels moisturized (after 4 days in the FL sun) and relaxed. Nicole’s soft but firm touch felt great on my face. Go see her for skincare. This time today with these two, who clearly know their craft, has me feeling pampered and relaxed. I can’t recommend them more strongly!

I made an appointment for a couples massage for my wifes birthday. My masseuse was Lana and she was amazing. If you tell them areas that you want them to focus on, they will put special attention to it and have you feeling brand new. We are definitely coming back.

The lobby was peaceful, immaculate and modern. The decor was inviting and calming. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the spa. I was promptly greeted by my Massage therapist, Eileen. She genuinely showed interest in not only my physical need for massage therapy but also my emotional need for the release of tension in my muscles and mind. She had great pressure and worked out the knots in my upper back and neck. The prices are very reasonable and I will definitely be back! :)**update August 2018** Tabitha is the bomb!! This was my first time here, and they were able to get me in last minute which was amazing. The massage was great but couldve been better. However I felt very relaxed after my session. Complimentary wine wouldve been a nice addition or suggestion. My mother enjoyed her time and that was the most important thing for me.

I have had 2 knee surgeries and my therapist was Bernard. He was fabulous! I have had many massages and he is one of the best! He only worked on my legs for an hour and I feel great! Thanks Bernard, keep up the great work!

I had a Massage Combo with Hannah today. She was absolutely amazing! Perfect pressure, worked all the areas I asked her to focus on including my jaw.If I lived here I would definitely see her every time. Perfect way to start a vacation.

I received a massage as a gift for deep tissue massage but when I got on the massage table the massage therapist advised it was for hot stone. I did not enjoy it at all. It felt like my 3year was rubbing me. My husband spoke with the manager Lisa who was very short and was not helpful at all. We was not looking for anything free but wanted to express the experience so it could be addressed but all she did was take up for the massage therapist. She was not on the table so she wouldnt know. We advised that maybe she had a off day but Lisa was very rude and showed no concern and very sarcastic. We frequently visit this establishment but wont be back. Were business owners ourselves who strive to make everyone of our customers have a great experience and if they dont well try to fix or show some empathy.

This was my first time getting a massage! I went for a couples massage and it was soooo relaxing. It was a 60 min massage and it was perfect! I appreciate that they ask for preferences and problem areas. We had Bernard and Patt and they were both amazing! We are both already planning on coming back!!!

We booked a couples massage. Will and Matt were wonderful! Dina at the front was very sweet and made sure we had a relaxing experience. The other women who managed the front however is not very friendly. When we made the appointment over the phone she was very rude. While we were waiting on the couch, we could hear her engaging with a new associate and she was very aggressive and belittling. The manager was also making unfavorable comments about other employees while we and another customer were in the waiting area. As someone who’s been in management, training and HR, I found this to be very unprofessional. We spent a lot of the night thinking about that poor new associate. Everything else was very enjoyable. If it wasn’t for the rest of the staff, we would not book again. It was not a welcoming experience until you get past the manager.

Ive been visiting Essentials for a couple years now. Ive always had awesome massage therapist however Hannah is by far the best. The establishment is always clean and the staff is very professional. It was last minute booking and I was able to secure 3 appointments.

Had a Couples Massage and Bernard and Lana were amazing and very professional. The spa itself was very clean and had a relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend them for sure and be sure to check Groupon for great deals on services offered.

My husband setup a couple’s massage for us. I got their prenatal massage. It started out amazing! The young lady I had was really nice. Im giving a 4 stars because my problem areas are my lower back & hips. She put more focus on my neck & arms. We also discussed her stretching me a little in the hip area, that didn’t happen. My other area of concern is when it was time for me to turn on over (I’m 33wks pregnant) she expected me to lay on my back for the rest of my massage. I was confused by this because if you offer prenatal massages you should know it’s not safe for a pregnant woman to lay on her back for an extended period of time nor is it comfortable. I laid on my side instead for her to complete the massage but was no longer comfortable at that point.

Visited on 4/23 had a 10am appt for spa package, Lola my massage therapist and Megan the esthetician were absolutely amazing! Massage was one of the best I’ve had! Megan was super friendly, educational about my skin and left out with my skin glowing! The only drawback was the lady at the front desk didn’t have very good customer service skills and wasn’t friendly at all. She stood out like a sore thumb because everyone else was super nice and friendly. She is the reason for my 4-star rating versus the 5 stars I would’ve gave: I would still go back again and hope she’s improved her attitude.

I experienced great disrespect and racism on the phone with the receptionist and manager. They were unprofessional, rude and thought it appropriate to demean my intelligence by speaking to me like a child. They also redeemed my voucher without ever doing the service and now I’m out of money. I wouldn’t recommend Black people to this establishment nor anyone at all for that matter. Spend your money with people that are not scammers.

I always have a lovely experience at Essential Massage. They are kind, clean, welcoming, & have many talented therapists. I have received massage from a few different therapists there. Joy is amazing and so is Lana! I have every intention to continue rebooking here. Thank you all!

I booked a 1 hour combo (relaxation+deep tissue) for my boyfriend and I. I had Patt and she was wonderful. Really walked me through it as it was my first time. She really hit all the areas I was going for and it was fantastic. My boyfriend had Lana and she also did very well. We will definitely be coming back

My experience at Essentials massage & spa has been lovely! The receptionists are always very welcoming and accommodating. April Is my go to massage therapist there, and every session with her is a relaxing experience! She is truly passionate about the work she does, and you can tell that just by how she is able to tune in to better understand what your body is needing at that time. A skill that many therapists lack unfortunately. Thank you again for the great massages and light hearted conversations! I would definitely recommend.

Received a 50 min relaxation massage from Ms. Patt. Very relaxing and good pressure in all the right spots, the atmosphere was very relaxing. I didn’t try it but I would suggest a 1 1/2 hour massage, I think a bit more time can allow more focus on certain muscles for total relaxation

I was very excited to try this place out for the first time for a couples massage. I purchased a Groupon voucher and I attempted to schedule an appointment. Once the receptionist learned that I had a Groupon voucher, suddenly, they didn’t have any available appointments… I instantly felt ashamed for even calling, that’s exactly how the receptionist made me feel, less than because I had a Groupon voucher.

They are nice. The facility is pretty and clean. They are affordable!!!The lady, Kesha, was really sweet. Shes a hard worker and she does OK but she seemed to be a novice to me. I have much experience in receiving all types of massages from all around the United States. I used to get as many as three a week.Now, she had great pressure and I felt relaxed, except for the one time she place an extremely hot rock on my back. If youre not experienced Im sure you would enjoy this as your first massage but its not a service I could come back to unless I was in desperate need.

My experience was amazing!!! I had never gotten a massage before and was sooo nervous. The place was clean, and professional. Kenneth was amazing! Funny, easy to talk to, and an amazing masseuse!!! Today was my first experience at this location and definitely wont be my last. I absolutely loved the peaceful decor and the staff was very pleasant. Hannah was amazinggg! I’ve been to Essentials several times over the years. Today was perfect. I’ve been in so much pain, located in my neck and back, over the past week. I’ve been hurting SO bad. I told her the general areas that had issues. When I received my massage, my body talked and Hannah listened. She found knots in places I didn’t even know I had knots. Honestly, I normally want a male masseuse. I am so happy I had Hannah as my Massage Therapist today. Her pressure was perfect the entire time. I feel so much better. Will definitely be returning to her very soon. Fingers crossed I will start having sessions as a part of my regular routine.

The good: Out of 2 massages I’ve ever gotten in my life, this one was the best lol my massage therapist guy did great, a lady massaged my fiancé and from what he said, she did a great job. The not so pleasant: I’d have to point out 2 things another person said…massage is for an hour but they cut off like 10-15 minutes for you to get undressed and dressed which really sucks, over all you get about 40 minutes of attention. Another thing, if you feel strongly about politics and religion, you really shouldn’t bring it to your work place. That’s all I gotta say on that. Massage great…impending doom slapped on us right after, not so great..especially to an anxious person lol.

I purchased a groupon for a massage and I waited until it expired to use it. The wonderful people who work the front desk told me that they still accept them. How amazing it that!!! Already off to a great start for me. Now this was my first massage. I filled out an information form and the masseuse came and brought me to the room. She asked me some questions about what I would like to focus on and what kind of massage I would like. She left the room for me to get undressed and get on the table. When she returned she turned down the lights and the fireplace came on and it was amazing. I felt so relaxed and calm. So glad I made time to come in tonight because I feel so amazing right now!!!

I’ve been coming to Essentials for massages for a few years now. The value is good, the rooms are clean and the staff is pleasant. The quality of massage varies slightly from therapist to therapist. They seem a bit like a revolving door. Overall it’s a great place and reasonably priced. I’ve always been treated with respect and care.

Love this place! Very clean, comfortable and relaxing experience. The staff are professional and knowledgable. I particularly like that they dont try to sell you more after your massage like other places do, and that their prices are very reasonable. Kisha is an amazing massage therapist and has helped me tremendously. I really cannot say enough good things about her. She has helped with so many issues that I was having that I didnt even know were related to muscle knots. She really knows what shes doing and I very highly recommend her.

It was very nice and clean upon entering the building. Me and a friend did the “spa day” package and we were both supposed to have two females but she ended up having to get a male. But she actually enjoyed him. Overall it was really nice and everyone was very respectful. We had a nice experience. 10/10 recommend.

My husband treated me to a 60 min massage with aromatherapy and a 45 min facial with a scalp massage. It was AWESOME! i asked for light pressure because i have some tender muscles and she applied just enough pressure to work the muscles without any pain. It was the first time I got a facial and she walked me through it while still allowing me to enjoy and relax. I feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and pampered. Great experience!

My mom in law Paid for 1 hr massage, got only 50 min.My wife got screamed at by the lady at the front desk because my wife didn’t want massage by male, no females were available for the same day, still they charged us for the service $85 and gave us an option to reschedule for $25 fee. Terrible, not coming back. The front lady was very rude and unprofessional. I don’t think it’s appropriate to scream at your customer.

I called to make an appointment and Im grateful I didnt go to that place. The person answering the phone seemed very intimidating and had a very rude tone of voice, it seemed to me that I was calling a public institution instead of a spa.

Went in for a relaxation massage today with Jamal, he was incredibly knowledgeable experienced! Jamal also made me feel really welcome and comfortable! He Was very easy to talk to and worked on my problem areas and gave me the relaxing pamper time I needed! Loved the atmosphere and will defiantly be back for a third time!

Okay so massage with Lana was amazing!!! Literally the only thing I thought was obnoxious is Groupon is 60 for the hour and if you book with them there it’s less. So they rob you of your money on it and I had a hard time finding the place at first so the 10 minutes I was late they cut into my massage time.Also it was really weird when Lana pulled out a bible card on me and told me I should follow some guy who follows earthquakes and catastrophic stuff lol I don’t think that was appropriate at all.

Nicole did an amazing job on my facial. She took her time and told me about the products she used.Sandy was one of the best massage therapists I’ve had. I would 100% recommend her and will be going back.

Ms. Patt was absolutely breathtaking in the most wonderful way. As I walked in she could see some of the tension in my neck and shoulders and immediately pointed it out to me before she asked where my problem areas were.My husband and I are down from Alabama for our anniversary, and thought a couple’s massage would be beneficial and relaxing. Ms. Patt was amazing and relaxing. Walking out, I felt the stress and tension had been lifted from shoulders and was the best massage I’ve ever gotten. However, my husband was not so lucky. The lady that gave his was not relaxing at all according to him. He walked out sore and thinks they gave him a deep tissue massage instead of relaxation.I would definitely go back as long as I knew I would get Ms. Patt again, but I can’t say the same for my husband.

Recently went for the anti-aging facial and I’ve got to say I had a pleasant experience. The staff was professional and courteous up front and Nicole (the esthetician who conducted my facial) was knowledgeable and kind.Definitely recommend this location for monthly or bi-weekly facials. I found this salon and my masseuse Eileen earlier this year. She has really taken the time to work on my muscles, releasing knots and improving my range of motion. My sessions are not just relaxation- they help my physical movement tremendously! The price is affordable, the salon is clean, and the front desk staff is very helpful.

Lana was absolutely AMAZING. I came in after a very long day of work and decompressed in the best way possible. Lana took care of me from beginning to end and I’ve never been more relaxed. 5 stars doesn’t nearly do her enough justice!

Had a wonderful couples massage for Valentines day. The only thing that bothered me is they were 7 minutes late calling us back for our consult and then ended the massage 9 minutes early. So if you consider consult time and everything, thats pretty much 10 minutes we paid for and did not receive, which at $86/hour is $14.30 that we paid for and didnt get. This is the only reason I didnt leave 5 stars. The atmosphere and facility were wonderful and the massage therapists were awesome. One of the best massages Ive had.

If you have a Groupon, DO NOT BOOK ONLINE!!! They will charge you for the massage and then refuse to accept your Groupon for that appointment. You can only use a Groupon if you book the appointment OVER THE PHONE. The website does not tell you that. Groupon does not tell you that. Very poor business practice to charge full price for a service at the time of booking and then refuse to refund under any circumstances. I didnt need the money back, BUT what if I did!??

From the moment I stepped into the room, Charles made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. From making my skin flawless to educating me on oils and routines, I would recommend Charles 100x over. I have been a huge facial person all my life, I have never had someone make me feel as beautiful and loved as he does. His work is so amazing, my mom is driving 2 1/2 hours to come see him! If you live in the area and aren’t on a schedule with Charles, you are seriously missing out!

We scheduled for a couples massage but due to covid they are not doing them at this time. We were able to schedule two massages at the same time. I had the pleasure of being massaged by Will and he was amazing. He asked me was there any specific spots I needed worked on. He was very and we talked through the first half of the massage. He gave me advice on changing my pillows. I was very pleased with this establishment and its so affordable. I look forward to scheduling another massage soon.

So it was our anniversary and we had an appointment at ten coming two hours away, we were late and Ashley went above and beyond to get us seen later in the day. This facility has wonderful massage therapists but beware of their business practices. They tell you that they require a “deposit” to reserve your appointment. They tell you that they keep your card on file to assess a fee for cancellations without the requisite 24-hour notice. In actuality, they charge the full fee for your upcoming services in advance, the moment you book the appointment. And if you cancel your appointment EVEN WITH 24-HOUR NOTICE, they do not refund you the amount they have charged to your card. Their office policy (which they do not disclose until AFTER they have stolen your money) is to only issue you a spa credit or gift certificate. Horrible, unethical and possibly even illegal business practices.

I am visiting from PA and randomly selected Essentials. I do not regret my decision! Excellent customer service from when I booked the appropriate, up until I left. Jamal was my massage therapist and Colleen gave me my facial, both get 5 stars 🌟!!!! I will definitely go back when I am here for work again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I wish I would have requested Eileen judging by the reviews here. I do not recall being told the gentlemans name who gave me my massage, but it was not an awe inspiring experience I had hoped for. I left still feeling knots in my shoulders which I did point out was my problem area. To be honest it was a slightly uncomfortable experience, but the atmosphere of the entire inside of the building was nice. My session was also stopped short of the hour mark by about 10/15 minutes. The sheets and blanket on the massage table were super comfy!

Im off the west side so its a little drive for me but after this first experience it with him I would definitely be booking him again... TEKO gave me the best massage I’ve ever had in my life! I had so much pain in my neck and back and he worked through everything, made me feel comfortable and explained to me what was going on in my neck and back. Lisa is amazing at the front desk. I had a fantastic deep tissue massage with Lonna. Essentials is very clean, I highly recommend this establishment.

My spouse and I went in for a couples massage, and it was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. My masseuse, Matt, was absolutely the most caring and kind he could possibly be! He knows what hes doing. The package was also super affordable compared to other places! I would 100% recommend getting yours done here.

I have been to this location twice and both times there has been a miscommunication on their end. The first time I went I booked THE Essential spa escape (which includes a 1 hr massage and a 40 minute facial $80) , and they only gave me the massage stating that is all I booked and that they did not have any time to squeeze in the facial.This second time I decided to give them another chance, so I clearly stated MULTIPLE times that I wanted the Essential Spa Escape and made it clear that it was the $80 package that came with the 1 hr massage and a 40 minute facial. They understood at the time until it was time for the service, then they tried to add on the sauna and foot massage AFTER i clearly stated multiple times I did not want that. They said I booked the Spa Day package (which is $119) and since i did not get the foot massage and sauna they only refunded me $19, making the total $100 without adjusting to the package I originally requested (even though they said they were going to). I tipped $20 thinking that my total would $100 even BECAUSE of the package I REQUESTED but no, they kept the package they put in and just refunded me what they believed would be the difference. (Which makes no sense considering the services I got were only an $80 package and yet they still charged me $100 for it) All in all, I will never be coming back to this establishment, and if you do decide to go be cautious because they have absolutely ZERO communication skills.

I am new to Jacksonville and was on a mission to finding me a new spa. My first visit I went for a facial and massage so spent two hours there and it was worth all my time!!! I got the Swedish massage which is suppose to be the “basic one” but it was so so so good!! And last an entire hour like promoted!! My facial was done with Katarina and she is so sweet!! My boyfriend fell asleep on her because it was so relaxing! She was very knowledgeable and gave me so many tips on helping my skin. I can’t wait to go back because I’m obsessed! Thank you for everything and see you all soon!!

This place is awesome. They does massage and facial, The prices are amazingly affordable and the place decor looks fancy. Starting from the front desk customer services to massage, quality is great. The place is clean and beautiful.I had a facial this morning and certainly feel better, my skin looks radiant and hydrated. I certainly recommend this place and will come back soon.

I received a facial as a gift for my birthday. Everyone was very nice and the environment is relaxing and clean. Charles is absolutely amazing. It was more than a facial with Charles it was a life changing experience. He really does put the therapy in aroma therapy. Words dont even describe how incredible he is.

I was having pain in my neck and upper back so I asked for a combo massage. I told Kisha this and she focused on those areas. She communicated with me and she kept massaging until the tension eased. I felt so much better after the massage.

I had gone the to place twice the first experience was great my first time. Weeks later I booked appointment I was supposed to get a relaxation and deep tissue combination. I really didnt receive a deep tissue massage at all. The massagist was tired yawning a lot couldnt wait for his break. I didnt even get a full 90-minute massage either. He used too much oil my body n hair was all oily. I smelled like olive oil terrible experience.

Don’t recommend this place. Was told a certain price which was a special when I got there to render services price changed and was unable to leave a tip . When calling back to schedule appointment secretary advised me that no one wants to work with me noted in the computer no tip . I’ve been coming to this place for the last year and always tipped. On the sign in the front it says recommend tip but not mandatory but I always tip. They need to improve there people skills and better communication . Also the massage isn’t hands on for the hour they leave The room for 10 minutes for you to undress and 10 minutes before the hour is over to put your clothes back on so you don’t get a whole hour massage hands on. Also they talked during the massage so there’s no type of relaxation. There’s other competition out there they need to learn how to treat their paying clients a lot better . Learn the correct specials before advising clients the incorrect info !!!

I got an 80 min massage and 40 min facial and was so relaxed and appreciative of the two ladies that did my services! This salon is clean, reasonably priced and makes you want to come back again!

Had my very first facial ever with Gabby and I had an awesome experience! She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. My skin was so soft afterwards and I definitely am adding this to my self care regimen! You can tell everyone here loves their job and wants to provide excellent service.

A massage session was one of my birthdays from my husband. There was a slight issue in the beginning but it was promptly fixed. I must say I really enjoyed my massage, I believe Kesha was my massage therapists name. The place was clean and atmosphere pleasant.The massage went so well, I was curious about the other services that they offered. Density at the front desk, I may not be off her name too lol but I waited a week before writing a review gave me a run down of services.The facial services are a few I am very interested in and will definitely be coming back for that. This place definitely has a great thing going. My husband got cool points for this!

The atmosphere in the front room is exactly what youd want from a spa. Clean, comfortable and soothing. I got the Spa Day package for $99 which includes a 1 hour massage, 30 minute foot detox, 30 minute sauna and a 1 hour facial which I fell asleep during because of the incredible scalp massage. I will definitely come here for my next day of relaxation and recommend it to anyone who needs some pampering for an excellent price.

Found a new facial home. Nina (ny-na) was amazing!!! I was very nervous when I walked in, felt so out of place & I have a little public anxiety, if that’s even a thing lol, but she made me very comfortable & took really good care of me.. also explained every step along the way!! Amazing esthetician!

Came with 2 friends for a spa day and it was amazing!! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We all got the 1 hr massage and 1 hr facial and both were incredible and super relaxing. You can’t beat there prices either!!

Don’t EVER go here! The massage therapist was late getting me in the waiting room, then when it was time to let me disrobe she left me on the table for way too long. My appointment was supposed to start at 2 pm. At 2:15 she still had not come back in the room so I got dressed and went back out in the hall to find her. When I finally found her and asked her what took so long and she could see that I was visibly upset, she copped a major attitude and told me she didn’t feel like doing the massage! The most unprofessional lazy therapist I’ve ever come across!

Yall let me tell you about my guy, Kenneth .I came into the store today thinking Ive had a deep tissue massage before. Boy was I wrong.He was not only the most professional person Ive ever worked with with massage, hes a genuine soul. My entire body is sore but it feels SO good. I felt things popping and moving like never before, and I most definitely will be recommending him to everyone.

I started yesterday with an 11 am full body massage by Keisha. I was completely relaxed at the end of the session. I then got a VIT C facial by Nina. It was so relaxing I drifted in and out of a dreamy state. I felt glowingly relaxed the remainder of the day. Thank you Keisha and Nina!!!!

Pat was my Therapist. She was fantastic!! I fell asleep. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because the session was to be a couples massage, but there was a booking error and it was reserved for 2 individuals.

Hannah did my massage. It was just what I needed. I had a lot of kinks that she helped work out. Thairy did my facial, and I must say, it was one of the best facials Ive ever had.

I came here last Sunday to start off the day for my birthday. Very professional and friendly staff, and relaxing atmosphere. I was very satisfied with my services and will be coming here as much as I can. This is definitely one of the best spas in Jacksonville.

Essentials Massage & Spa is a little out the way for me but definitely worth the drive! Booked a session for a 60 min massage and was able to receive services the same day. Holly did a exceptional job and asked periodically to make sure she wasnt apply too much period. Everyone was nice and the prices are affordable.

Its our 21st wedding anniversary and I wanted a spa day. Hubby agreed. When I told him it would be a couple hours he started complaining asking if I could get our money back. Well mr had a great time. We had massages and facials. Something weve never done before. We both look and feel great. He wants to do it again. What an aphrodisiac!

We were running behind due to the storm, totally my fault but called to confirm if it would be ok to come and was told 15-20 late is ok. Get there at 12:19 (appt was at 12:00) and was canceled. Just destroyed my Father’s Day couple’s massage I wanted to surprise my fiancé with😩😩 i even begged to get the massage time cut down to the time we had left but the lady said the therapist decided not to do serve us smh! I booked almost a month in advance and was so excited to surprise him. I cried like a big baby because he so deserves this and we drove 45 mins to get there! Father’s Day is one time in the year… but they looked at us and canceled us. Money down the drain. It was more of the lack of compassion that stung. We were dismissed like a bad habbit. But its nothing i can do everywhere else is booked😞

I had a great experience. Regan and Nicole were fabulous. I definitely will be coming back, and am so thankful to be feeling so much better.
