Our first show at The Sylvee but not our last we were there to see Maren Morris one of my partners favorites. She and I were both impressed with the venue. Nice space with a great stage area it is a mostly standing venue with 3 sides on the 2nd floor having several rows of seats as well as I believe 7 small suites that are for lease or rental. It was a great show by Maren Morris. Our only disappointment was and this was not just our opinion but also of the people around us that we spoke with that the sound engineer did a terrible job on the audio for both the lead in singer and Maren Morris by having way to much bass taking away from all the songs of the lead in singer and several of Maren Morris songs. Past the bass problem which we will be checking on the next time we go and the drink prices being a bit high it is a great place to see a music concert at a small venue.
First time at the Sylvee, and I was surprised. For a concert venue it was perfect. Not too big and the stage was higher than some places so more people can see. The atmosphere was more intimate, and there was balcony seating as well. We just had general admission tickets but still very enjoyable. It also was well temperature controlled. We parked a decent ways away but the walk through town was nice, seemed like a nice area of Madison. Orville Peck was amazing!
Awesome modern venue with General Admission and seating in the upper balcony. Expect to empty your pockets and walk through metal detectors. Adult beverages as well as bottled water were quite pricey. The decor was exceptional! (See photo) The wall of cassette tapes artistically rendered upon was a highlight! I will definitely come back!!
I have attended multiple EDM events here and had a very good time. This place knows how to throw a party. Its smaller size and capacity makes it feel like a very intimate experience and I dont think theres a bad seat in the entire house to get a good view from. Very close easy walking distance to other dining and lodging options.
Date of visit: March 7, 2024Performers:Zac Top and Flatland CalvaryParking is perfect in structure next to The Sylvee; event parking was $8.Venue is actually very nice as this was my first time there. It is not huge, so no matter where you are, I feel you are not so far away from the stage. There is obviously the floor in front of the stage, there are also areas on the first and second floor where you can stand to view the stage. In these same areas there is reserved seating available and there are also suites up at the top back. All of these can be seen on the venue map when you order tickets. There are 2 bars for those over 21. Coat check available. Water fountain also accessible. Easy access to bathrooms.Entry for this event was efficient.I look forward to the next concert I will be attending at The Sylvee in April .
Great place to watch a show! The floor level goes right up to the stage, theres a bench along the one side wall with chairs for handicap, and then upstairs balcony had stadium seating. Plenty of bartenders and mostly can service means you dont wait long. I think it was $16 for a tall boy White Claw, expensive but expected. People were still plenty drunk there. Metal detectors to get in, and enough security to feel safe but still have a good time. Sounds and lighting were great, made for a great show! Clean bathrooms, plenty of stalls so I didnt have to wait (I use womens rooms). Will totally go back for the right bands!
The sylvee is a fantastic venue! Reasonable (compared to other venues) drink prices and lots of bathrooms. Also a bubbler!!! Have never seen that at a venue before. We go to the sylvee for a lot of shows, safe to say its our favorite venue! If you purchase tix at the box office you will skip some of the fees.
Great venue! I had never been there and visited last weekend for a show. It’s one of those places that feels like you have room to move, even if there’s tons of people in it. Sound was great too.
This place is truly a Madison gem for concerts and entertainment. This place has definitely leveled that up! The staff is here is immensely friendly and so helpful. I always enjoy the chance to come here whether that be for a concert or if I’m DJung for Glitz. It’s always a pleasure to come here and see some great live entertainment!***NOTE: THIS VENUE IS CASHLESS***
Drove in all the way from the Chicago suburbs to see Milky Chance. The Sylvee was an awesome venue- we were able to park on the street for free, which is something were not used to! The venue is very easy to drive to, plenty of places to eat before the concert (we went to FEAST, really good), and even though it was a sold out concert (we had balcony seats) it was easy to get to the bar for drinks, and to the restroom without tripping over a million people on the way there and back. Sound/acoustics were great, crowd was fun but respectful, and of course the band was fantastic. Will be back!
Clean, good sound, and a great view from near everywhere in the venue.Upstairs and downstairs have a bar, making getting a beverage easy. Upstairs vip ticket seating is nice as well, though GA has benches against the side walls, which is nice if you are super tired.Bathrooms are good, too, which can be a bit of a nightmare at other venues.
I rarely right reviews, but this one was well deserved. Never before have i seen such wonderful staff taking such great care of the attendees. My husband and i are from out of town and due to technical miscommunication, we [later we find out others as well] missed the meet and greet soundcheck with Tori Kelly. But when we brought up our concerns with the staff, one of the lady staff was super helpful and polite. She didnt promise anything but she said shed try to see what she can do, AND found us in the crowd to give us our VIP merch that we were supposed to get earlier. She later found us again to give the ones who missed the meet and greet 15 minutes to take pictures with Tori, which is better than nothing and we are forever grateful. On top of that, the staff overall was just amazing. Especially the ones who came to the front with FREE water for the fans who were standing and waiting for the concert to start. Truly an experience i will never forget. The Sylvee staff did a fantastic job tonight.
A nice venue for music. They could do better with sound distribution with the center fill speakers. I started in the middle and had to work my way to the side in front of the line array to hear properly. Not going to downgrade the venue for this. There were center fills, they were not being utilized properly. Do better, audio guys.
Second time visiting the Sylvee for a concert. Splurged for the JD Club, which was totally worth it, and would absolutely pay for it again. Attentive and friendly staff. Audio upstairs was phenomenal. My only ask is that staff should be checking tickets for balcony seats before guests proceed upstairs. A couple was in our seats and they simply moved to another row where seats werent occupied again. This isnt fair for those who paid for the balcony. People were also blocking the ends of the rows like it was standing room only, which shouldnt be allowed. The stairs should be always accessible.
I went here to see Shakey Graves and The Head and The Heart, and I loved going here!Fast, friendly and FUNNY security personnel at the entrance. Everyone moved along inside and on their way. Never had that fast of an entrance to a venue before. Less than 5 minutes and we were inside getting our drinks and finding our seats.Once there… it was FABULOUS AGAIN! Not a single complaint that would be against The Sylvee! OR the artists we went to see.Seating is narrow, and basic but effective. We were in the central balcony, and it was worth it.Amazing show, amazing sound and lights… couldn’t have asked for a better place to see such talented people performing.
I’d give no stars if I could. I flew up to see a show and I checked their website for guidelines of what I could and could not bring to the show. There was rain in the forecast so I specifically checked to see if umbrellas were prohibited and they were not listed so I figured my tiny collapsible umbrella (6” folded up) would not be an issue. I got to the venue early and was first in the regular line. It did not rain but the sun came out so I used my umbrella for shade. An hour or so before doors, a sign was brought out with a list of prohibited items. I double checked and was relieved to see umbrellas were not on the list. When doors opened, I was then told “We don’t allow umbrellas.” WTAF?!! Then put that on your signs and website! While I tried to figure out what to do with my $50 umbrella (“You can take it to your car.” “My car’s in NORTH CAROLINA!”), about 100 people who had been lined up behind me waltzed right on in ahead of me. I searched around for a place to hide it outside the venue and fortunately found a good one and it was there after the show, unlike the last time I had to do that at a show in Dallas. That’s the only reason this review isn’t full of cursing. So yeah, they suck and I will not ever return to see a show there, even without my umbrella.
Catch Your Breath/Daughtry/Breaking BenjaminFirst. Best show ever.Second. This is the best venue I have ever been to.Had balcony center section seats and, while pricey, were worth every penny. It is so clean and staff was fantastic.Highly recommend!
I drove all the way here from St. Louis to see The National, and it was so worth it! As a short person it’s always nearly impossible for me to actually see anything, which is why sound quality matters so much to me, and the volume and quality here were excellent. It was also a beautiful venue with great concert lighting, and a very large bar so the lines never got too crazy except right at doors.
A beautiful venue inside and out. You can choose to get general admission tickets on the floor which gives you the opportunity to get up close to the stage or upgraded tickets that give you a birds eye view. The general admission area is not huge so even if you dont get up next to the stage, its still great viewing. The sound was excellent and the bathrooms are clean and theres not much more to say. I saw an excellent show at a great venue.
The convenience of where this venue is located is great!. Its within walking distance of both a parking garage and the Essen Haus. Inside, the venue was very clean and accommodating. We watch Coheed and Cambria on their No World For Tomorrow Neverender Tour. The sounds and sights were amazing, I definitely recommend it if your favorite band is playing here!
Great downtown location. Clean, organized and accessible. Floor seats, balcony, and third floor balcony suites are available. Drinks are on point. The third floor suites provide you with a bartender, and your own floors bathroom. Very convenient when your drinking 24oz Miller Lite silos! All beer is only offered in 24oz Silos! Mixed drinks available. We cant wait to go back!
Its good for a music venue. there is absolutely no food, not a chip, not a pretzel, not even a Bloody Mary. Worst of all, there is NO REENTRY. Period. No matter how early you get there, once you walk out, you cannot get back in. So, if you get there starving, find out theres not a bite in sight, and decide youll just duck out quick, and grab a snack right next door, youre not going to see the show you have a ticket for.
For those who know Madison venues, this is a Majestic Theater on steroids. There is a massive pit on the floor for people to stand that has a couple of levels. The second story has a ring of two rows of premium seating with additional standing room above these seats. If I was an early bird, I’d head to this area to stand because there there is a railing to lean against. For a sold out show this place is crammed. I’m not sure how anyone that is 5’5” could see anything from the middle of the floor area. Personally, we had premium seats and our view was excellent so I would have no problem popping for these seats again. If I didn’t, I’d have to use my Majestic Theater strategy. If the show will be popular, stay home because you won’t see anything anyway. The venue itself is a industrial with concrete floors, but has decent sound. We’re not talking Overture quality, but it is better than every other place in town. Rarely, am I impressed with lighting, but the lighting last night was clear and all of the faces on stage we’re washed out with a sea of lights.
First timer at The Sylvee and had a phenomenal night seeing Bryce Vine! Entry was incredibly smooth with the TicketMaster App, and the cashless venue kept drink lines moving quickly. The upstairs bar was consistently less occupied and a very quick option for a refill. The employees were great, the show was fantastic, the venue and sound were wonderful! I would definitely come here again.
Pros: Very nice venue. Nice layout.Cons: The sound quality isn’t the greatest. Security - specifically one person - is rude. I witnessed this man yell at multiple people, including me, for no reason other than HE was overwhelmed.I’d likely return for another show but would steer clear from any area where this dude was working.
Great place to see a concert! The acoustics sounds good and the layout works well. Yes the drinks are over priced but that is every concert venue.
Good venue itself, but be careful leaving before the headliner plays. The staff in the very first doorway said it was fine to leave, which I did. Went to BP for 5 minutes, I came back and they refused to let me back in even with my ticket...
Saw Umphreys McGee here & it was a very accessible, well run, safe (metal detecting & bag check upon entrance,) well designed, well staffed & tap/canned beer- stocked venue. Great sound, light show & nice choice of spaces to stand, lean or sit to enjoy a show.Thank you Frank Productions.
A truly wonderful place to see a show. I am always willing to drive here from Milwaukee to see any show. Domestic beers were very reasonable a 24oz to 32oz can for $9 or $10. The bathrooms are enormous and clean for such a small place. I have never been Im a small Venue that had 8-10 stalls and 10-12 urinals never a wait meaning more time to see the show. The main floor is sunk into the ground in front of the stage. This is a nice touch since the surrounding viewing area not in front of the stage is raised to be level with that stage meaning there are no bad views. There is also a balcony with seats. My absolute favorite part of the venue is that even though they are small they use line arrays for their speaker setups the sound is perhaps the cleanest and clearest I have heard at any venue in Wisconsin that has big name bands.
Not a bad joint to see some live music or any kind of performance I suppose. They do have a strict policy on what can and cannot be brought into venue. Basically just bring yourself and you’ll be alright. Venue holds 2500 humans with a large main floor and upper area with mainly standing room and a couple rows of seating with great sight lines. Beverages sales are located around the venue and prices are are about what you’d expect in these dystopian days. 14$ for 24oz beer. All in all a nice modern box type venue that leans more towards arena feel than say theatre style. Enjoy the show.
What an incredible venue!Ladies and gentlemen, youll be hard pressed to find a cleaner well run establishment. We saw my favorite band Baroness last night and WOW!! The staff were amazing to my friend that just had foot surgery and accommodated his special needs immensely!!Go to a show and see for yourself!! Itll be difficult to see a show anywhere else from now on!
Seemed obviously over-sold! Plus, the sound was a bit mediocre! We were looking forward to a great concert experience, but it was difficult to even see the stage amongst the crowd. $5.50 for water? Bit disappointing, sad to say!
Great venue, not too loud, so you can actually hear the music and understand the lyrics. Drink prices are a bit steep, so pre-game in the parking lot.
I LOVE the Sylvee! Great venue. Not too big, not too small — seeing any artist there feels very personal and special.
Ive been to The Sylvee twice now and I must say its my new favorite venue close to home. Its on the smaller and intimate side which is outstanding, parking is cheap and right across the street, drinks are reasonably priced, ticket prices & fees are some of the best around and will keep me coming back anytime someone I like is there. Thanks for being a great place to have fun. Nahko Bear was wonderful, and the concert I went to for my Birthday yesterday with Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, and The Word Alive was one of the best nights of my life
I really like this concert venue. Ive seen Alice Cooper, Dope, Sevendust, and Static-X here and enjoyed the service, sound, and overall concert going experience. Theres no bad place in the venue to watch your favorite band. I HIGHLY recommend going here the next time your favorite band comes to Madison.
It was my first time at The Sylvee and it was great! We skipped the opening band and the line that had formed way too early. We hit Vintage before and it wasn’t nearly as busy as expected. Stepped next door and walked right in before the headliner. Yep, we were in the back with GA tickets, but we could hear the band just fine. The shorter ones in the group were at a definite disadvantage, but it was manageable. Beers at the bar were close and easy to procure. Those up front probably couldn’t leave during the show, so who is the smart one here? I might try a reserved seat next time just to be able to come and go at my leisure. Good times, good music, easy in and out, nearby parking at a reasonable price.
This is easily the best music venue in the state of Wisconsin. I traveled here from Milwaukee to see All Good Things, The Word Alive, and Starset and it is 10000% worth it. The layout for everything from drinks to merch is super great and very fast. Venue staff are extremely helpful and super kind. They went out of their way to ensure everyone had a great time. One really awesome thing is the COVID Pre-Check that started 2 hours before the event. Definitely do this if youre going to a popular concert because it saved us so much time (we essentially walked right in after Pre-Check right before the show started).I opted for balcony seats and it was very nice, great views and super comfortable seating. The venue is mostly GA, so I would recommend buying tickets early online to get balcony seats.100% Ill be back here.
The venue is absolutely beautiful, with a great view of the Capitol from inside. We saw Flogging Molly (a decades long dream) and the sound was incredible. We had a great time and look forward to seeing another concert there!
W.O.W. Epic venue! There is not a bad seat in the house! Its like they combined all the best features of other music venues in Madison but made it ten times BETTER! You walk in, BOOM theres the stage, turn around theres the bar with lots of bartenders, and bathrooms are right there! Wide selection of beer and mixed drinks. I have never been more impressed with a venue, than when I walked in for the sold out Shinedown show last night!! Oh, and they built a parking ramp next door and its an easy walk from street parking off Willy or Jennifer Streets!!!
Great venue for shows. Two floors, each with a bar. The coat check is near the entrance. There is a smoking area outdoors. There are no space heaters, though. There are several parking ramps nearby and street parking available, which is free and very convenient. There are multiple restaurants nearby within walking distance after parking. Rest rooms are big with a big bank of urinals and about 10 toilets. I dont know what the females have. I highly recommend this venue. Its about 5000 people capacity for my best guess. It is handicapped accessible.
I’m currently at a concert here and wanted to share my feedback regarding the usage of ADA-designated spaces. While the concert itself was enjoyable, I was disappointed to observe several instances where individuals without disabilities were occupying these spaces. A mom brought her kid to the front of the space to hold a sign, this is not respecting those with disabilities.****By using these spaces, individuals without disabilities are essentially disregarding the needs and rights of those who do require themDespite there being available room throughout the venue, I noticed a group with a person wearing a foot boot and individuals with children violating the ADA spaces for better viewing angles of the performance. As someone who relies on these accessible spaces due to my own disability, this disregard for their intended purpose was troubling.I would like to acknowledge the efforts of some staff members who attempted to enforce proper usage of the ADA spaces. However, it was disheartening to see their efforts undermined by the actions of others.Ensuring consistent enforcement of accessibility policies is crucial to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons. I hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration to improve the accessibility policies and practices.
We saw Death Cab for Cutie last night. Nice venue, but there are limited seats on the floor. They were so great! We were so close and even the sound wasnt all that loud. Didnt care so much for Thao, but might have been the sound system. Make sure to make reservation for dinner before as every place around the sylvee was packed. Parking was close.
Great venue. Efficient and nice staff, clean restrooms, clean everything all around, parking on site. What more can you ask for? Drinks arent cheap, but it is Madison and downtown so thats not really a surprise.Sound is pretty good on floor and on the second level. Only been to metal concerts hete so I cant say whether or not the acoustics are great or not. This is the venue that Madison needed 30 years ago. Glad to see it doing well. Picture of Zakk Wylde from the Anthrax, Black Label Society amd Exodus show on 1/27/2023
Fun venue, but no seats or benches except in outdoor smoking area, to sit for a few minutes if youre in GA. Sound was a bit muddy on the floor, but maybe it was just that night.
I always enjoy shows at The Sylvee. Its located near food and beverage options for before and after shows. The parking options are decent too for a city with nightmare parking. Inside The Sylvee offers a clean space with bathrooms and drink lines that dont keep you waiting. Would love to see security a little quicker to respond to unruly patrons. *cashless venue
Yeah. Good luck with parking. Showed up 30 mins before doors opened and garage already full. Expect to commute by bus to this venue if there are other things going on.
Madison Wisconsin’s newest music venue has 3 stories of various seating. The large venue has a massive main floor mostly for standing and the upper levels have seating. The modern bar is large, well staffed, has great beer and liquor options. Popular concerts typically sell out so make sure to get your tickets in advance. Below are some of my pictures from the #Zedd and #BenHarper shows. If you like my photos and comments give this review a like. Thanks for your time!
THEY DO NOT FOLLOW OR ENFORCE THE ADA LAWS PROPERLY AND THEY CERTAINLY DO NOT ADVOCATE EITHER! We wont be back after this event. Extremely disappointed! People with disabilities already struggle for their voice to be heard and to even have their own space. Alls this venue has done is silence the voice theyre using to advocate for themselves!YOUR ADA SECTION SHOULD BE BLOCKED OFF!
Came here for The Drug in Me is Gold Tour which was a sold out show. Other than waiting outside extra before the VIP meet and greet, it was a great venue and experience. Friendly staff, metal detectors at door, large standing area, two balconies, and a large bar for all the Wisconsinites it can hold. Definitely will be back in the future. Also plenty of street parking nearby and easy to get out of.
We have been to the Sylvee several times and have always enjoyed this venue. The sound system is top notch. I recommend ear plugs. We were always able to go upstairs with general admission. The reserved seats are also upstairs. We werent allowed upstairs this time. This meant no access to the upstairs bar and no access to the view of the Capitol. Also, the upstairs has lots of counters to lean on and plenty of places to set your drink. The lower level has very few places to lean, to sit, or to set down your drink. Going forward I think that the Sylvee should offer pricing for reserved seating, general admission upstairs and general admission downstairs.
I went to this venue for a concert and was incredibly impressed. You can tell Im in my mid-30s, but its clean and doesnt smell, which is impressive for a concert venue. Its laid out so you can get down in the floor area if you want to be totally in the action or you can stand along a ledge on the side if you need more space. The seats on the balcony level go one step further if you need your own space. There wouldnt have been a bad space in the venue to watch from. Bathrooms were plenty big so, even as a female, there werent any crazy lines and you didnt have to travel far to get there and miss much of the show. Tons of beverage options and friendly staff. We parked easily on the street, but there was $8 garage parking, which seemed incredibly reasonable too. Id definitely go again!
Wow! What a great venue! 1st time there and it did not disappoint. Great staff. A bar on each level that has a good selection of beer and liquor. Not sure if it will be forever but card only payment at the bar. Bar areas even had charging ports and pads for phones. Clean bathrooms and had an outside section roped off for smokers.
Great venue, expect venue pricing. Cost check is available. Dont forget about the second story bar, great views and usually less crowded
Madisons newest live music venue on the east side, the Sylvee is a welcome addition. The layout is great , as you walk in you can see the stage immediately. The sound was also very clear. Beer prices were typical for a music venue, $8 each. The venue doesnt have much character but that may come in time.
The show was amazing, the venue is on the smaller size so you are pretty close to the act which is great. 4 star only because of the long wait outside to get in. The venue has no indoor area before they scan your tickets. So doors open when doors open. Also felt bad for those that paid extra for VIP tickets and only got let in a few minutes before general admission.
Sylvee is always a great time. Venue is convenient, plenty of free parking around the area, staff are nice, and there is always a rotating list of varied artists. Im not a big pit fan, so its nice that there are plenty of options besides the pit for viewing the concert, and those alternatives are usually just as good, if not better. Facilities are well kept and clean for a concert venue. Docking a star because of the price gouging inherent to concert venues.
Ive been to the Orpheum, the Majestic, and the Sylvee in Madison. The Sylvee is definitely the best venue out of those 3! Friendly bartenders, the building is very pretty, good beer, they serve Spotted Cow, security did their job well. Most importantly, their sound was very good. Bathrooms were the cleanest I ever saw for a concert venue! The lines were not super long for anything, and I was at a sold out show.
Just attended my first indoor concert since covid and had a great experience at The Sylvee! Loved the venue and the parking garage across the street made it easy. Staff were friendly and helpful, sound was amazing, and loved the variety of seating/standing options - all with great views. (Attended the 2nd night of Sylvan Esso)
First time here will also be the last, especially since the drive was 4 hours. I paid for balcony seating only to have people from the floor come up and stand against the rail blocking my vision. Also, not sure why the FAQ states no drug paraphernalia allowed. People were lighting up literally 10 feet from a security guard with no repercussions. Ill stick to Green Bays Epic Center over this disaster of a venue.
Great new venue! I was surprised to see water fountains with water bottle refill spouts on them, thats awesome! We stood on the balcony, the second row behind the seats and it was a great view and sounded perfect as well. The show was sold out but we got there early to find a good spot and lucked out. I did go down on the main floor and it was difficult to see the stage (but Im short). Cant wait to see who else will come here so I can go back again!
Trying to figure out why all of the drunk girls giving lap dances weren’t kicked out but yet my male friend, who was very cordial, was escorted for being “drunk”. They’ll definitely sell you their overpriced drinks, but as soon as you start dancing with friends they’ll remove you and then laugh.
This was my second time attending an event at The Sylvee. The venue is gorgeous and clean. That’s about where the good stopped.Their New Years Eve Disco Night felt pasted-on - as if it was rushed to be put together as a cash grab. The decor was lacking, the tickets were overpriced, and the drinks were outrageous. $50 for two drinks for my partner and I. There was “reserved seating” on the upper floor, for some reason. It’s not like there was a band playing. The musical entertainment for the night was severely lacking in every department. They had a “DJ” playing 70s-ish tunes off of their phone into a basic turntable setup, then running out to try to convince the crowd to move. They needed stage presence. They needed something more.I will be hesitant to return to The Sylvee. We left prior to midnight for a different party, despite having bought tickets and coat check at this one already. Tremendously disappointing.
Great venue. Place was sold out and it certainly felt like it. Not a real wait for drinks. In 6’5” and rarely have an issue with sight lines but I sure do feel sorry for short people. The floor isn’t that big so if you’re forced to stand back by the bar, hope you’re tall enough.
Really good concert venue and concessions. Drinks were a bit expensive, but otherwise I had a great time.
The Sylvee continues to be one of my favorite venues! Easy in/out of the venue, easy access to the bars, and great sound/visibility everywhere!
Have some amazing acoustics. One of the best places too see a show in mad town
Amazing venue! Love the layout. It seems like a lot of work went into it to make a great place to listen to music ❤️
Wonderful venue and an awesome space to see a performance, but theyve got to lower the volume. The volume was so high that it damaged my ear.
The Sylvee is one of my favorite venues. The sound is always great and no matter where you are, you can pretty much see the stage.
A bit pricy but great venue for shows.
The Sylvee was an amazing venue built for tomorrows generation! Everything was well thought out to make this one of the best stages in Wisconsin. There are no pillars in the pit for the GA crowd. Theres a VIP balcony with great views. There is free water at a bubbler which is very accessible. There are multiple charging ports for devices and also spots for wireless charging! The bar presentation was very modern as well. I hope more acts book this venue!
It is one of the best venues Ive experienced. Newly built with great sound, bathrooms, and bar service. Paying extra for balcony seats were well worth it - with great views, exclusive bar, and bathroom access.
I like the Sylvee overall as a concert venue. It is definitely very versatile when it comes to hosting artists. Some of the ones I have seen include A R I Z O NA, Falling In Reverse, Deadmau5, Zeds Dead, Waterparks, and Hippo Campus.
Great music venue with great staff and location. They allow mosh pits and crowd surfing which makes it interesting for live shows.
Traveled from Chicago on a whim to see Subtronics here about a month ago. The venue was great, crowd was energetic and friendly. We had a great time
Great live music venue! Amazing sound and very intimate spot in Madison for live shows!
Loved how intimate this venue is to the performance! Loved how accommodating they are for wheelchair users. Will be back for another show!!
Sound mixing was good, the band sounded great. However, getting into the venue was a disaster. The line was super long and it took at least 30min to get in (while waiting in chilly Wisconsin weather outside, no less). C’mon guys, we’re two years into the pandemic, one year with vaccines — get your act together.
Great venue! Awesome staff. Best security setup I have seen for concerts.
The Sylvee oversold tickets to the Grownup book fair, with the result being that, arriving at the time it opened, we spent 30+ minutes outside in line, only to find the floor impassable and many shops sold out of the main attraction BOOKS. I want a refund and hopefully I will hear back from the venu. (Plus $17 drinks, $8 coat checks... but aside from that, I paid to be able to browse books like a book fair. It failed in that....)
A great concert venue in a cool part of Madison with an industrial vibe appropriate for the areas history. Nice balcony seating, full bar, multiple merch points and a spacious general admission area. We saw an awesome metal show (Whitechapel, In Flames,Meshuggah) and the place was loud, with acoustics that could handle it. Parking is close by and very reasonable (8$). There is a constant schedule of great acts, advertised well in advance.
Dont sit in the front row balcony if youre afraid of heights. Especially if you have to get up and walk around and other people are already seated. The balcony rail only comes up to your knees and when other people are seated, it is such a tight space to walk across.Other than that it was a cozy, clean venue. The stage is visible from wherever you are. The sound was amazing! Would come back.
Absolutely the best concert venue I have ever been to. You can see the stage from literally anywhere. The staff is amazing. I was at a show recently and was standing on a short stairway. I had to sit for a bit because I have a bad leg . I sat on the edge of the stairs in between the railings. Not actually on the stairs. A staffer came towards me and I thought for sure she was going to say that I couldnt sit there. Instead she asked if I was ok. I told her I had to sit a bit due to a bad leg. She pointed to an empty chair in the reserved seating section. She said I could stay there unless someone came and claimed the seat. No one came. I had the seat for all of the concert. That was amazing. I always find odd places to stand at a concert that give me a good view, usually I get told that I cant be there. I love the Sylvee. Parking was easy, and the venue outstanding. Almost as good as Headliners.
Great layout, good amenities, always a view of the stage, but the sound SUCKS. Everything sounds so muddy regardless of who is playing or where you stand.
Great space for music. Great beer prices and easy access to everything.Things to know:1. Parking ramp next door is usually $8 for a night of parking.2. Get there when doors open. 75% of the crowd shows up right at showtime which makes for lines.3. There is a coat check, $5, I think...4. Seating is limited to the 150 or so seats on the second floor. Yes, they are reserved and unless you bought the seat, no, you cant sit there.5. Dont call a cab or uber directly from the venue at the end of the show. Go to High Noon Saloon, Star Bar or Tangent, have a drink and call from there. It will be more enjoyable.
Love this place for live music. Great staff, standing areas, tables & chairs and 2nd floor balcony with seating. Excellent sound system. Easy to get to and plenty of street parking nearby.
Wooooow this place Rocks!! Big and simple. EXCELLENT VENUE, just watch for the 18% gratuity being the first option when tipping, beers are $10 as is and when you are buying for friends, that big tip can get pricey after a few rounds, choose the custom option to plug in your own 10% tip. Clean restrooms, fun security staff, nice honest place to hear live music in Madison!
Got to experience Lines of Loyalty,Dope,Sevendust, &Static-X in the Am-Fam suite. Great place! Awesome show!
Great venue. They generally bring in good bands and at least in my experience, the place draws a good crowd. The staff is friendly and gate security is pretty chill. Seems like theyre looking more so for weapons than party supplies. Which is good. Trying to stop drugs from coming into a concert would be futile and most people are gonna get em in anyway so whats the difference
Went here for the NSP show. Sound quality could use some work, some of the vocals were hard to understand. Also needs some character, the grey walls are a bit depressing. Parking situation is difficult right now but a new parking ramp will open in November so thatll be ok. But the venue and stage are large and easily accommodates the number of people coming for a sold out show. Had a good time here and itll get better as time goes on and the place develops a personality.
I drove 2 hours from Chicago to this venue to see Ghost, and it was worth every second. The staff was fantastic and the place is so clean it was almost disorienting. My feet didnt stick to the floor, it didnt smell like year old beer and vomit, it was a nice change of pace. I would do it again in a second.
Old feel rock house, great acoustics, loved it.
This is a great place to have an excellent concert experience! Its hard to find a bad place to see the show !
My sister and I were at The Sylvee having a great time last night. Right when she went to go to the bathroom, she grabbed her phone (clearly accidentally grabbed an ID scanner) and went to the restroom. Guards were waiting for her outside and kicked us out and threatened to call the police on us.Maybe don’t leave your scanners all over the tables for people to confuse with their cell phones?
Very nice, basic venue. Nothing fancy but easy to get around in. Very clean in all areas. Bar/drink facilities very good. Sound was good, stage is good sized. General admission so standing only except for two rows of seats in front balcony. Parking right across the street in deck. Entry to building was easy. A good experience, would definitely go again.
Went to this venue last night to see Black Veil Brides and it’s one of the best venues. Super clean, has wi-fi and AC, security was super helpful and they gave out free water and ear plugs - definitely one of the best show experiences I’ve had as a long time concert goer. Shouts out to the staff!!!
One of my favorite music venues. So lucky to have this in our area.
Awesome venue. Wish bathrooms were on both sides is all
Finally a venue that lets you get up and close and personal with the band and sound quality is through the roof literally I cant wait the hit more shows at the sylvee as I miss the Coliseum shows but it was hard for bands to fill the Colosseum and the sylvee let you get shoulder to shoulder without feeling cramped thank you to the people who made the sylvee you rock I went to Sublime with Rome and I caught the set list as roam through it..... Too cool.
Once again, the venue proves to be a fantastic place to catch a show.
Very nice concert venue. Will definitely return.
Great place to see a show! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it!
This is a gorgeous venue. Its laid out intelligently, and as long as you get early enough with a ga admission you can get really close to the stage.I will absolutely come back to see another show.
Good venue for live music. We had the opportunity for private suite tickets, and it was awesome. Excellent view! The bands sounded great. We will definitely go again.
Dont coatcheck. That one girl - its called a zipper merge and there were multiple lines. It was my first time here. I was waiting to the left and was informed the line was to the right, which was moving. You singled me our specifically, put a pole up in front of me, and screamed in my face because i wasnt in the line. Incredibly bad vibes.
Really great venue! I saw Bastille and the security and staff was very friendly and efficient with checking us in and I noticed they handled a minor medical issue professionally and quickly (someone passed out from the heat). We were given free bottles of water all throughout the night and could refill it when needed as well which absolutely blew me and my friends away (seriously, it was super hot with all the people packed together and while waiting outside, it really helped!) The first floor is standing room only but spacious enough to fit a lot of people. The second floor has a few rows of seating and I think more GA standing behind them and I think there was a third floor with more GA standing. There arent really any chairs besides the ones you need tickets for so be prepared to stand for a long time. There also isnt much shade outside so if youre going to be waiting outside, be prepared for the weather. The bathrooms were also very spacious with many stalls and very clean as well. The parking garage right next door is also very convenient and cheap, only $8 for our show! 10/10 will definitely be back!
Saw Cannons there back in October and had a blast. Its a nicely laid out, smaller, intimate venue with a good choice of pit and seats. Even though we live near Chicago, it was so much more reasonably priced than seeing them in Chicago that we chose to drive the few hours and make a weekend out of it. And theres great parking. Looking forward to the next time we can be back.
The venue is cool. The sound is good. Its the venue that bigger acts play. HUGE HUGE note that the venue management NEEDS to see:STOP SERVING PEOPLE SO MUCH BEFORE THE SHOW TIMESEvery concert Ive been to there has consisted of the largest collection of hammered idiots who RUIN your show experience. The venue opens the doors for an 8 pm show at 6:30 and proceeds to serve people 24 oz beers and full liquor bar the whole time.Ive been to 3 concerts at the Sylvee. Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, and Colter Wall last night. Maybe its just the country crowd, but holy f! Its 3 for 3 on intolerable drunk crowds. Im not sure if its this way for all shows, and but maybe lets adjust for the country shows.Figure that out and this is a 5 star venue. Until then, Ill avoid The Sylvee like poison ivy. Majestic, and Orpheum are the preferred venue in town.
Awesome venue. Went for a Thursday night concert and was impressed with the expedient check-in process. Midway through the show. I went to the bathroom and there was someone who must have been drunk or something on the floor and they had women security guards helping her. Also, They give you the cap for bottled water so you can refill it. 👏
Super cool venue for a concert or a few trade shows Ive been to.
