If you’re looking for a great time, definitely check out Silly Goose! This establishment has attentive bartenders, great food and beautiful decor. For those who like to get cute pics, this is the spot! If you’re dying to catch a vibe on a weekday, I highly suggest going on a Thursday night! The DJ is soooo good and happily takes requests 🤗Guaranteed good time with BOMB music and a great atmosphere!
After moving to downtown area, this is one of my favorite go-to place, either for morning coffee or a nice night out. The food is always delicious, fresh, and lovingly prepared, especially pizza. The service is very professional, and the prices are reasonable. Great cocktails!! The atmosphere is very cozy, with nice design and intimate lighting. Overall, awesome vibes and music.
It was Friday night and we visited the place for drink. The place was optimally crowded- neither too much people to feel bad, nor too empty. The crowd was good, and so the staff. I got myself Moscow mule - which was extremely sweet and bad. I don’t think it was prepared in house or not🙄. Another cocktail we got was rather better with a perfect balance in taste. Overall, the place was vibrant with dimly lit ambiance and good music. Just talk to the bartender more to see what you want.
Silly Goose had a great vibe and ambience for a Friday night cocktail bar. I got the Tunnel Vision cocktail which was pretty amazing. Some of their other cocktails on the menu looked pretty good. However, my friend ordered a Moscow Mule which was not on the menu and it was not upto the mark and tasted too sweet almost as if bought from store. But, vibewise this is a great spot to have cocktails and unwind on a Friday night.
Awesome experience. I cant to return!!! The game changer and silly lily were my favorite drinks!!! The service was top notch!!! I could gone on and on!!!!
I came here with my dad for a father/daughter date. He had said this place was rated as having a great ambiance, or gave me another option that was supposed to have good drinks. I chose this place and was so glad I did, because they have both! On Jessicas recommendation, we tried the Cholo Love and the Sleeveless. Both were so good that we ended up ordering two more each, and bringing the rest of the family back later in the week. The Therapy Tiger and Handsome Devil were also A+. Two other gentleman (I believe Brad, and Daniel, the owner) also served/hung out with us for a bit and it was just the best time! I also have to mention that I found the drink prices fantastic for the quality. I easily pay $12-$16 for similar drinks at upscale bars. I dont live in Memphis but Ill definitely be back whenever I visit.
Visited from my hotel in Covid-19 times. They were very friendly, helped me figure out my order. I had a beer (with a mask on) while I waited. Chef delivered me the pizza and told me he added extra mushrooms for me. Walked it back to the hotel and was very pleased with what they made. Caesar salad was very fresh, and there was just the right of amount of dressing, croutons and cheese. Pizza was very tasty, a good combination of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. I’ll be back for takeout and to spend time there when it reopens fully.
Very professional and friendly staff. Delicious drinks and perfect atmosphere
I went with a few neighbors on a Thursday night. It was very chill and the service was good! The bar was set up like alice in wonderland and they were playing the movie on one of the screens too! Which was cool! The atmosphere got 4 starts because the dj didnt really read the room and the music was okay! He did accept requests though, but after he went right back to what he was on lol! Ill go back for sure the drinks were really good, I ordered a shot of Jack Daniels and the millionaire cocktail!
We came late at night as we got in late to the state. The atmosphere upon walking in was awkward to say the least and full of tension to say the most. It felt like a close knit group and outsiders weren’t welcome. I thought they were closed since there was only 5 people and I assumed they were staff/management of some kind having a meeting. One person kept playing their own music at maximum volume on their phone and singing to it over the already playing music the establishment was playing. The food took extremely long to come out even though it was a small pizza. We came because we liked the outside and upon looking it up, the photos looked fun/inviting. Overall, okay experience but just a bit strange. Probably won’t visit again next time I’m in town.
The best bar ever.Very good service and amaizing cocktail list. Hopa Cupa is the best cocktail.Farm Daddy Pizza is must to have.
This place has a great atmosphere, its not too loud and not too quiet. The drinks are pretty great, bartenders were professional and attentive. You can have a relaxed drink here with your friends, and can hear them talk without having to shout at each other. Would definitely recommend this place!
We came on an evening with an Alice in Wonderland theme and it was fantastic! The wood-fired pizza was perfectly cooked and the cocktails were interesting, inventive, and balanced. Ill return every time Im in Memphis.
Sarah was great, excellent service, personable and makes great cocktails. The atmosphere was chill, a really cool spot to chill with friends.
Love the relaxed vibe, and the hopa cupa might be the best drink Ive ever had
Great atmosphere. This is the spot to be, right off of Beale street. Bartender from Ohio was great, he can make a hell of an Old Fashioned. Very good vibes here and music. Outdoor seating area as well if you like to have a drink and a cigar. Highly recommend!!!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Paid $35 for two very average $11 drinks. I know alcohol tax is higher than the typical tax but it’s certainly not 60%. Pretty sure when they pre-included the 20% “service charge” they then used that to add the tax to, but even then the math just don’t math right. Go somewhere else or prepare to be scammed.EDIT: because I can’t reply directly to the manager’s reply, I will reply here: sir/ma’am, your establishment includes a mandatory tip of 20%, AND THEN taxes that after the tip that I was forced to pay is included. This is absolutely not normal, nor is this how tips are supposed to work. I pay for a product, it gets taxed by local and federal governments, and then I as the customer decide how much I would like to tip the kind waiter/waitress who served me. I do not wish to tip the government, nor the “TBAC government.”
This place was awful. We walked in and struggled to get service. Finally got an order for drinks and food placed at the same time after 30+ minutes, the waitress then disappeared for another 20-30 minutes until our drinks showed up and at least 45 minutes until our food showed up. Unfortunately, both drink orders and food orders had errors. The worst of all is that our visit occurred during a time when the entire city of Memphis was under a boil order, but this restaurant continued to serve tap water to its patrons when every other restaurant I visited (including bars on Beale street) were serving bottled water. When I brought this up to the bartender, he shrugged it off and said they had been serving tap water all day and all night, that day. Which…. Is actively putting their customers at risk of getting sick. Not great!!!When food finally did come, the chicken was bland, the temperature was all over the place, and the audio on the speakers overhead kept cutting out. This place may look fancy, but I would actively discourage anyone from going here.
We (myself and partner) stopped in this bar on a Thursday night. There was one person sitting at the bar and a party of 6-8 people sitting at a table. So an estimate of 10-12 ppl in this bar, not full or crowded at all. We sat at the bar for about 20 minutes, were not greeted or offered a menu and well be with you shortly if I wasnt sure I would swear we were invisible people. No acknowledgement whatsoever so we left and probably will not be back on our next visit to Memphis. So rude and not customer friendly at all.
As beautiful and as awesome as this place seemed, it was not. The owner, Anna, and the manager, Jeff, were very off-putting and as I customer I was VERY displeased with their service. The bartender, Lexington, was very sweet. She took great care of us! Victoria seems to be getting the hang of things and Christine took certain measures to fix the order thay was put in wrong. Food was pretty good. Just dont go when there is only 1 person working at the time, or right before shift change (around 6 or so). If Jeff and Anna werent so displeasing, this wouldve been a great girls night out! Definitely one to remember, for sure.
Cozy spot with delicious pizza. Great happy hour specials as well. Probably the best wood fired pizza I’ve had in the area (I had the duck confit.) I went during happy hour midweek and this is definitely a local regulars spot but the bartender, Jessica, was still sweet. Not sure why there are so many reviews complaining about rude servers when I definitely did not have that experience.
I live 4 blocks away and this is one of my favorite places to go. One of the best, and longest, happy hours Downtown. Excellent craft cocktail menu that changes with the seasons. Locally brewed beers on tap. Fun, friendly, outgoing bartenders. Pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. Nightclub vibe with dance music at night.
It was nice inside, and the drinks were good, but the service was extraordinarily slow without being busy at all. We had been planning on ordering food, but they didnt even ask until after wed finished our first drink. By that time we had decided to go somewhere else 🤷🏼♀️
Fiancé and I went to try this place while we were visiting for our honeymoon, and we were stopped at the door to pay $10 per person to even ENTER…. We unfortunately didn’t have the cash to give to enter, but we left upset.. we’d love to stop back in if we’re ever back in town.. but not for 10$ a person😭
Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff but happy hour ends at 5pm and one Long Island iced tea cost 20.46 on a Monday evening at 630pm. WOW. If it was a Friday/Saturday evening/night understandable but a Monday with all of 4 people there, NO!
Great environment. Great DJ. Mixed Crowd. Bartenders need some more training in proper customer service. The bartenders looked over my friend and I several times while servicing others and completely ignoring us. I had to practically yell hey we are next you dont see us in order to get their attention They were very bland when I asked about drink choices. I had to just order some drinks and try them. Other than that it was a great atmosphere
The service wasn’t that great. We were given menus about 15 minutes after sitting down and then we still had to call someone over to come and take our order. The food was good and the drink was strong but service needed a little bit more work.
Its a beautiful bar and has great cocktails! The only negative thing- which did effect my friends and I was how rude the two bartenders were. I came in with three other girls and the girl bartender charged us a 20% gratuity on our checks. And when my friend asked her why she did that, she said plainly said “Because”.
I want to be an honest reviewer, and I hate leaving less than 3 stars. Nothing was particularly bad about this place, but it was mediocre at best. We walked in, and weren’t greeted for some time. We sat at a table against the bar, and finally someone asked if we were ready to order. We asked about the featured drinks, and were told that no substitutions could be made because the drinks were premixed. That was a little disappointing. Being in the service industry myself, I typically will offer alternatives, or put in the effort to find something that someone will like. As a bartender, I’ll remix a drink to meet the preferences of a customer. If we made a premixed drink, I usually have all the individual ingredients still, so I can just whip up a slightly altered option. But the bartender either wasn’t able, or willing to help. She honestly seemed like she really didn’t enjoy her job at all. We all have off-days, but it really seemed to affect her work. We settled on some of the featured drinks. The drinks made weren’t particularly notable. The music was nice, but if I’m honest, I don’t think I’d recommend this as a spot to any friends.
So, apprrrntly, THIS where grownfolks-en-masse be meetin n greetin, suppin n swillin---swayin, lyin, laughin n carryin on---in Memphis when Saturday night come round. (Selah)(Honestly? Ion eem remember what I drank/ate. I was too busy chattin n cheesin in the felicitous Spirit of Négritude.)Prove me now herewith, ANYWHERE Black people feel safe enough to actually BE silly---sans side eyes or sideways---is a five-MFN-star establishment...
NEVEr Patronize this place. This establishment is a negative 100. I will never Patronize this place. The Girl bartender was very RUDE and the manager Nikki would not listen to the what was going on. The RUDE GIRL bartender keep interrupting when I was explaining to the manager. The manager was very unprofessional. Never Never go into this establishment. I will be filing a formal complaint with the owners.
Party of 4 ! We ordered drinks and pasta . Everything tasted great , the vibe there was great & our waiter was super cool . Wish I had gotten his name ! Definitely recommend .
I went here with some friends on my birthday which was memorial day this year it was not crowed at all we arrived there by 7pm we sat at the bar had a few drinks i really like the Millionaire drink a must try and the decor is so elegant & boujie my kind of vibes will be returning
Loved the mixed crowd. Bartenders were really efficient with the crowd despite the lack of any type of system. Only complaint was the DJ. You cant go from City Girls to Whitney Houston. Dance floor would just disperse periodically because of that.
Best bar in Downtown Memphis. Friendliest bartenders, best cocktails around. Everything is house-made right down to the hand pressed cranberry juice for mixers. Comforting atmosphere with exceptional live music. This place takes no shortcuts and does things right. The owners are top-notch!
It was very late and not many places were open. After driving from Houston and hitting up a couple bars, we arrived hoping to have a few drinks before heading back to the hotel. Tyler was incredibly funny and awesome. He helped my friend and I get exactly that. Great end to a long day
I just left from there not even a hour ago and yall should work on customer service. The bartender yall have was honestly giving off a bad vibe an rolling her eyes because I didnt tip her. Not to mention she didnt think I knew about the deal on pizza yall had today an acted as if she was doing me a favor by giving me the discount then tried to retract on it saying she would have to charge me full price for one of the pizzas because the person cooking said it was dine in only. Then when I showed her where it yall commented an said it was take out also she acted as if it was a surprise. Also there was a hair in my food and I know it isnt mine because I dont have straight hair and my hair is pulled back under a baseball cap. Its really disappointing to be honest
We went there for the shrimp pizza we had heard about . It was so dark in the restaurant. Pizza was great. Party of 4. Left a good tip and when looking at the receipt later saw they already added a 20% tip with no mention of it. Kinda of disappointed
The staff needs to be more friendly. We came to this place for the first time and no one greeted or approached us. We ended up asking someone at the bar about the service there and they simply said “Oh, I don’t know.” How don’t you know if you work there ?? The staff wasn’t polite and I will not be going back. I feel like they don’t know if some of the people have been there before or not and should explain how everything works at that establishment.
One of my favorite downtown watering holes. Early in the week, its a very chill spot to grab a drink and just hang. Towards the weekend you can expect a little more bounce and vibe as they have DJS come in. Best people watching patio in the city!
The premade drinks taste like mouthwash you are better off drinking a Monaco in the alley while ripping dollar bills in half.Follow up.. I did ask for another drink, it was also not good. When I asked for a drink that wasnt so sweet I was told no, it was impossible. Impossible. Left more than half the drink on the table and left.
Has great potential. Love the remodel! Very classy environment, good vibes, great caliber of people, good social interaction, great drinks, good food, garbage music. DJ only plays on genre. Lots of people stopping in for a drink and leaving to go elsewhere. The music is the only thing holding this establishment back from becoming the first stop of the night to the only stop of the night. Don’t be afraid to turn up a bit. Mix up the music and silly goose will flourish. Trust me.
The best bar in downtown Memphis! We came around 10pm and it was slow, security guy told us to come back later. We were checking out other places on Main Street and when we came back it was awesome!Definietly worth hanging out!
Im surprised that Memphis doesnt have more cocktail bars. This place is a gem. Unique cocktail list; in addition to the classics. Nice selection of booze. Bartenders care about their product. I plan to come here again when Im in town.
Bartender Hailey was EXTREMELY unattentive when my friends and I visited last night. Didnt welcome us but she was okay with allowing Joe to walk out and pay his tab when he returned. After really paying attention to the dingy decor, Im glad we left. Dont waste your time.
Memphis landmark! You must have a cocktail! Amazingly, organic!
On Saturday, July 20th, I and 7 others went to this establishment for drinks. We sat at the patio closest to the street. We all ordered drinks. One member of our party tried to go inside to use the restroom, but was told that unless he paid the cover charge, he couldn’t. He didn’t, because who would, especially after spending nearly $40 on drinks already. So, we asked our waitress, and she confirmed that was the rule and offered that it was something the DJ required. So, another member of our party went and asked for the manager, who ultimately confirmed what the doorman and waitress both said! Had we known this before our orders were taken, we would not have stayed. It isn’t posted anywhere either. A ridiculous rule for a basic bar. Don’t waste your time or money.
My friends and I entered this established a little after 8pm we sat outside on their patio near the street. After acquiring a tab of over $100, we were told because it was after 9pm, we had to pay $5 to come inside and use the restroom. We spoke with the manager and he said this was a “new rule”. I’m all for establishments running things the way they want to run them, however, that is the biggest BS I’ve ever heard. As a guest who is patronizing your business, I should be able to use your restroom just as I would had I not chosen to sit on the patio. Furthermore, had my party been informed about this “new rule” we would have never decided to spend our funds there. Our waitress was nice, but completely ill-informed. I would not recommend this establishment as they have no idea what decent customer service is and the drinks aren’t worth anything anyway.
Overpriced and small. We went and had to pay $10 each for a cover on Saturday night. Drinks were expensive and there was so place to enjoy them. Our group was by the dance floor and it smelled like straight poop. We didnt stay more than 15 minutes before the smell drove us out. Very disappointed to have to pay to enter a place that smells like an outhouse. It was a waste of time and money to be there.
Great bar! Great staff! Great location! Nothing in Memphis like Goose! Most of the people that complain about slow service dont realize they are not the only person getting a drink- wait and you will get a drink! For those that use the reviews to exploit racial tensions - stop and think before you say something ..you know that has nothing to do with this bar !This bar is a decade ahead of most bars in Memphis...Enjoy it ! They bring the North to the South saving you a plane ticket !Great bar! Great staff! Great location!
Great cocktails! Really friendly servers. very cool decor and vibe. Great music.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. My boyfriend and I stayed in Memphis during Thanksgiving week. We ate here. We werent forced into anything we didnt want to do. Originally from the Nashville area, we appreciated the cozy, vintage atmosphere here at Silly Goose. Our waitress was attentive, warm and friendly. We ordered cheese bread and a pizza Louisiana something . Both were INCREDIBLE!It was a lovely experience altogether. Nashville or Murfreesboro needs something like this. You probably couldnt replicate this place though.
Great small venue with a classy crowd. Love their new decor. Drinks are good choose your bartender wisely. I had 1 guy give me half a shot in my drink and the girl may of put 2 shots in my drink. I tipped the girl way more because I tasted jack with a splash of coke like I like it. I think guy bartenders tend to choose their friends and hook them up but women tend to know how to get a good tip. Put enough alcohol so they can taste the alcohol in the drink. I limit myself to only 2 drinks so if Im paying as much as it would cost me to buy the alcohol and have enough to drink for a month at home for 2 drinks I want to taste the alcohol and get my moneys worth. Also all the tables had VIP reserved on them so we couldnt find a table and even got there at 10 pm. When I asked about a table they said they were reserved but I know for a fact they usually arent reserved they are held for owners, managers or employees friends or family to have a seat. My father in law used to manage here so one of those reserved tables were usually ours until he left. We ended up leaving because we couldnt get a seat and we went to local and had an amazing time sitting in a booth. We spent over $300 that night at local. Sorry silly you lost that money by not having enough space for regulars you got about $80 from us while we stood up waiting for a table to empty or an empty table to never have anyone sit at. As an owner I would fall on the floor to know how much I lost from simple things like opening up a table for an hour thats not really reserved. You can make more money if your reservations have time slots. That may help your bar since you want to offer reserved seating you loose money during those hours you dont have enough room to accommodate customers due to empty reserved seats and they go down the street and spend their money somewhere else with open seats. It is getting a little snobby and clicky in here now. I dont know if we will return after experiencing being customers without the perk of being allowed to sit at a table. If you know someone there you can sit down if not you will stand the entire night and get your feet stepped on.
If youre looking for an upscale sort of nighlife atmosphere during the weekend, this is the place to be in Memphis. They have really great drinks. Dont forget to try their Moscow Mule. Dance floor opens up late at night during the weekends.
You’ll see this guy here. Brad. He’s the best thing - besides the owner who’s equally amazing - about this place. I love coming here for their unique drinks and menus. Daniel keeps things fresh and trendy constantly which is nice and needed downtown. If something isn’t right just let them know and they’ll make it right - always!! One of my favorite spots!!
Very laid back and sociable atmosphere. Drinks Cocktails Shots all well poured and served with a since of style and craftsmanship.Perfect for before or after event meet up! 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Top of the line place to go have some drinks. The staff is fantastic and very personable. The atmosphere is top notch. The DJs here know how to rock the house. There MoJo or coffee drinks are so great. Yes I love coffee so of course I would love a place that has such a drink. The bartenders are top of the line and are not greedy with the drink if you get my meaning. Expect it to be a drink of being worthy of an Oh My Dang... This is one place that I do not hesitate to tip my servers and bartender with the highest regard.
Neat eats and drinks away from busy Beale Street. Enjoy outdoor or indoor seating. Cold beer and tasty pizza.
Seriously we thought this place would be awesome but its got a great atmosphere, just so annoyed with our service. Walked around awhile just to decide we wanted to go to the silly goose and came inside thinking oh, yeah this will be awesome then the bartender ran out of vodka while fixing my drink and literally didnt bother opening another bottle to finish it and just added mixer to finish the drink. Then put my boyfriends in a bigger glass. Im a great very experienced bartender and bar manager. I know how it works and he screwed up. Fix your staff and make sure they know how to do their job is all Im saying. This is a bar where you just wanna drink beer so you dont get screwed over !
Fantastic atmosphere and drinks! Everything was phenomenal! Recommend to anyone in or visiting Memphis!
I love the low key environment. Its a nice spot to mingle and with a great patio street side.
Certain waitresses are very unethically motivated. Padded bills and dont give them ur card for tab. Pay cash as you go. Different waitresses and bartenders give you different prices as well service.
Yes it was crunk and i had a ball on the inside dancing on the dance floor...the patio was really cool we were able to have a great view of beale street
Very nice inside like grandpas bonus room with the bar, antiques, and dark lovely wooden walls. The bathrooms were clean and no one there to take tips:) although the atmosphere was a little dead. There were alot of people, but the DJ wasnt current or even semi-current.
5 stars for NICKY!! I came at a crowded time (4th of July), and she went above and beyond to help (get drinks, take order, get food, get silverware) and she refused to let us tip her. She said, Just tip your bartender well!. *AND* her hand was in a cast/wrap! 😦 Thank you Nicky for being an extraordinary human!! (Also can I please tip you now??)
The local Fireball is smoother and less burn filled than the common brand. Pleasant calm atmosphere that invites conversation and a mellow enjoyment of the evening.
Awesome bar, great service, fabulous cocktails, even nice, but sharp security guys...,but DJ... ,they are not doing good job... just my opinion... it’s definitely worth visiting...
Got drinks, good drinks but the security at the door was a black male and Im a black female. When my bag was searched, he took his right hand and patted my left pocket. I want to know when did males started pat searching females?
I came here persuaded by the large crowd of people outside and some locals that suggested the place was lit.. we’re visiting from nyc and all I have to say is.. the pizza was S A L T Y, the music was D R Y but the service was good and the atmosphere aside from the music and food was good so if you want somewhere nice to enjoy a drink this is it.. if you tryna wine pon it this is not it!!! I find it funny only LOCAL guides give it high ratings...
Gave this place FOUR tries.... soooo much potential, great location (ONLY reason for the 2nd star), interior, and decent food- however the night bartenders here are THE (Number 1) worst in the entire city. Pompous and extremely cold mannered, they ignore customers at the bar as long as 45 minutes and smirk when asked anything. The younger woman and stockier bearded man are particularly inflammatory- dishing out as many rude comments and nasty looks as they do mispoured drinks. These two consistently leave ingredients out, underpour, and even had the audacity to use BEER in a cocktail calling for PROSECCO CHAMPAGNE. Consensus: decent place for a bite & beer during the day but steer your attention toward Alchemy, Bari, DKDC, or even Local for the evening.
If you are looking for something a little different this is the spot. Not just another downtown bar, its a hidden gem. Im in the service industry and its where I go after work to wind down. It is super laid back, always some fun shenanigans happening, great drinks, and an amazing staff.
Downtowns best kept secret. Awesome DJ’s. Cool patio. Clean atmosphere and bathrooms are super nice. The bouncer has been there for years, and doesn’t mess around with riff raff.
Not only is this place INCREDIBLE, their newest bartender Mikey is THEEEEE BEST!!!Dude my my favorite drink better then anyone else , he introduced me to a new one.#Ask4Mikey!
So we pick and choose who we charge $5 admission to?? I watched the door for 15 minutes after being asked to randomly pay a cover. My girls and I were the only people asked to pay a cover. This guy saw and heard what was going on and came out and apologized to to me and my friends. Racism is still thriving after my ancestors built this country. I can believe this is 2019. SMDH
Nice place. Good atmosphere.
One of the best friendliest bars downtown...I enjoy the people and atmosphere every time I visit. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, bartenders, and great owner... If you have not visited this awesome bar, PLEASE do!! Tell them Sed the Entertainer sent you...
Great atmosphere. The pizzas and drinks were good as well. I wish they would offer more variety on the 🍕.
It’s always such a great atmosphere and the drinks are phenomenal
Slow service on a slow night. Premade drinks which I found wierd for being a cocktail bar. Wouldnt have known if it wasnt for the bartender (male) blurting it out to the other bartender (female) confirming he doesnt know how to mix the drinks. More to tell but Ill stop there, average at best. Overpriced premade drinks, get them IF you can lol
Kristin is my fave baddie in the 901. Bartender of the year. She is beautiful, smart, wonderful, and funny. LOVE her to the 100th degree.
Pizza mediocre.Edit added after reply from owner- I appreciate your willingness to make it right. Unfortunately my husband and I were only in Memphis for a visit. We do plan to return as there is just so much to see and do. Maybe well give it another shot.Thaks again.
Love the atmosphere. Good vibes. Great drinksBeautiful setting
Staff & food was top shelf.Next time I am in town, I will stop in.
This is your typical bar, but tries to dress itself up as something more. The clientele is just a bit pretentious, but that really isnt their problem. However, for the sake of the review, and for the benefit of you, the potential visitor, you need to know these things. Be warned.-blasianFMA
Club vibes not a bar for locals but for tourists. Drinks overpriced but pleasant staff.
Great vibe and staff. Truly a unique Memphis place to have a fun time….
Went late for drinks with my wife. Very tasty & staff was friendly but no food. Dont they have to offer something when serving alcohol?
Food and drinks are excellent!!! Bartenders were frendly and professional! My recommendation!!!
Love the atmosphere ! I had the classic burger and tomato basil soup very tasty. Britney was AWESOME !!! My drinks were made to perfection
Come here if you want to enjoy whiskey. They have a huge selection! The bartender was skilled and knowledgeable. Felt welcomed by the staff.
Great atmosphere, good food. And the owner is very helpful and attentive on making sure costumers get what they want. Definitely a to go spot downtown.
Great ambiance with nice conversation nooks. Good music but not too loud. The bar service was very good and good choice of spirits. Well be back.
Best Bar In Memphis! Great drinks, friendly staff, and laid back atmosphere. Perfect place for starting the night, finishing the night, or just hanging out all night.
This is my absolute favorite bar in downtown! Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for fun, drinks and dance!
Legitimately the best bar around Memphis.Doesn’t matter what I get I end up liking it. My partner and I have been drinking here for a few years now.
Friendly bar staff more than happy to give suggestions/let us taste drinks. Tried to go back the next night to a high door charge, though
Terribly unfriendly staff, highly do not recommend this place. Their drinks are below par - kind of taste like they use bleach with all of them but I’d never accuse them of it...
This owner has voiced his opinions about his lack of support for the minority community. Whats worse, however, is it appears that there is a systemic issue of racism within this establishment. Just scroll through the Facebook reviews from minorities about their treatment and service. Daniel Masters can post a half-hearted apology now, but actions speak louder than words. Lets see you donate to one of our charities, just like Colin Kaepernick has been. Until then, you will experience the strength and impact of our unified community.
Nice place, overall 10/10.
Nice, clean cocktail bar with good prices! Would recommend this place
Im a regular of this spot, the staff here is amazing, good prices, good pizza :)Ask for Nikki, shes the best bartender downtown 😁
Great staff, clean place. Beautiful interior, in and outdoor seating.Crafted cocktails or just a beer.Starry Daze is fabulous
Very fun night here. Danced a lot. With people and a really sexy gal. DJ is fabulous. Thank you for night.
I havent been to the silly goose since I was 21 I am 29 and I plan to go there on Valentines day with my significant other when I did go years ago I truly enjoyed myself the atmosphere was exactly what I needed no one fighting my life was not feared and me and my family had an amazing time...
10/10 not impressed. Came in on a Monday. Bartender on their phone. Not helpful. For first time guests we really had no clue how to navigate. Shame.
Service was slow and I first only ordered drinks. Drinks were really good though! Late night pizza was good too
Love this place. Hands down the best service and fun Ive had. Been coming here for about 5years and whenever I make it back to Memphis I make sure to atleast grab a drink there.
My experience was absolutely GREAT! Definitely 10 stars ! The drinks, food, and service IS AMAZING ‼️♥️
My waitress Brittany was amazing Im not sure if she was the bartender as well but my drinks were great as well
Cool little bar to grab a night cap. Bartender was excellent.
Used to love going to Silly Goose for a drink and hangout with friends all the time ! Awesome place to grab a drink and hangout with an amazing atmosphere.
Great little dimly lit bar. They have excellent Turkey burgers and the food is not your typical bar food but is high quality and delicious.
Great atmosphere. Food price points are a little high for the portion size. The tomato soup portion could be a little bigger.
Pizza was amazing my waitress was very attentive and friendly love the patio is great people over 40 like myself go in the daytime to fully enjoy the ambiance
Silly Goose is always a great time! Great hummus, great pizza pies! Cool vibe and excellent libations!
Silly Goose has racist tendencies. I would literally stand at the bar for what seemed like an eternity while everyone was being served around me. I had to give my money to someone with way less melanin to buy my drink and they were served right away. Needless to say, Ive never been back since.
Amazing pizza at 11pm on a tuesday!! Cant ask for more. Shrimp pizza is different but amazing give it a try
Bartenders were a lot friendlier in the past, they used to really try to sell craft and unique drinks, not so much anymore. Kind of average today.
It was great.. fun and sweet bartender.. drinks were great, thats why I cant remember her name..
Drinks were good, decor is neat. Service was very slow
Great customer services and very talented bartenders. Perfect bar to hit up after work or whenever your in the area.
I may or may not have been too drunk to remember the specifics, but there were irish car bombs, good music, dancing and a hot girl from NYC. SO fun!
One of my go to bars downtown. Always fun and always has great music. Does have a cover sometimes but usually worth it.
The owner of Silly Goose is Daniel Masters. Add him to the list of places that clearly dont embrace black people. If you go to his page and read the comments that have been posted since his racist rant on September 2nd 2016 @ 4:43 A.M. it only gets worse. Of course, hes been silent on the three killings of black people by police that have happened in the last three days. I havent been to Silly Goose in two years and I wont be back. EVER. Oh yes. Black lives matter!
Love to come here before an event at the Orpheum - location is fab and atmosphere is a delight... I do admit that Im disappointed the menu changed (bring back the Thai meatballs, please?)
A nice alternative to the busy lobby bar in The Peabody. Quieter, more adult and no duck walk schtick.
Cool atmosphere, nice place for drinks. Food menu looked good but was only there for cocktails
Amazing cocktails and chilled vibe! Love this place!
Cool atmosphere good variety of food pretty good drink and live music not big fans of black ppl I have been going there since it opened a common occurrence is unfair treatment of blacks whether the conscious of it or not
It was my first time and it was amazing the buffalo chicken pizza highly recommend it and the Blue Flower drink.
Doorman is rude , this is the second time he has been awful to my husband and me. The place itself was fun for a younger crowd. We will not return.
Austin is great. Say hello every chance you getMade us feel at home. Great place, great atmosphere. A+
Nice place just needed more help. When sitting outside no bartender came out to take drink orders.
Great bartender. Awesome atmosphere and drinks for a respectable price. I love it here.
Great place... Outstanding service.
The BEST place to grab a cocktail! Also a fun place to dance on Friday and Saturday nights. Great vibe!
During the week it has happy hour until 8. Friday and Saturday nights are party nights. Great staff
Great atmosphere to hang out with friends. Service is always friendly and welcoming.
My favorite bar in Memphis - great crowd, good music and really a great place for hanging out with friends.
Cody, Austin and Jessica were so incredibly helpful and friendly! Thank you for making our visit to Memphis better!
Nice hangout location, but very long wait time to get a drink. Friendly workers
Went with a party on 12 and we did not receive no service for 45 mins....then when asked for service they claim they did not see 12 ppl setting at a booth but you service the table next to us that just came in.
I was looking for top wines and didnt find any but nice place. Chandeliers were pretty
Great Staff ,Friendly,Nice Drinks .You can Have a great time here
Very nice and clean place , downtown scenery ☺️
Its ok.... Most of the visitors are college age adults. Very crowded and a little space venue. Its more like a club than a lounge.
Nice environment for the bar. Great drinks for a decent price...
Venue is cool, drinks are good, and did you know that their pizza was 🔥🔥🔥?? Try it!
Great staff. Great drinks and great food. I suggest their pizza and wings
Such a fun bar....bartenders are great....music is great.....will for sure go back with friends.
This is the second time I have been there. No one came up to greet us or give us drinks
Beautiful setup. Would be great for a low-key birthday party or event. Limited drink selection IMO.
Bad experience had beer wasted on me and waitress still expected a tip in which she never bought back my change after paying for the second beer. Never going back
Great vibes and cool people- Staff always available to get the cocktail of your choice
Its a really nice place especially if you want to take pictures but the blonde bartender was rude
I met a guy on Grindr who said he was the owner of this restaurant, so I decided to try it out. And much like the guy I met on Grindr, it sucked.
Atmosphere was okay but dont ever order a martini here unless you want one that tastes horrible is very expensive.
Great place to grab a drink. Thanks for making the experience awesome.
The vibe was great.
My go to when downtown. Awesome staff, great drinks, and always a good time.
So Much Fun and Lots of Women. Drinks and Bartenders were the best.
Its not all backed up until they needed to do a good cleaning but the staff was friendly
Pretty fun atmosphere for a pregame spot, not really big enough for much more though.
It took me forever to get a drink from this place. I felt ignored while standing at the bar. Will NEVER GO BACK!
You got to be careful when sitting. Today a broken glass in the sitting area cut my skin while sitting; now, my skin is bleeding.
Late night food run. Ordered the wings to go. They were pretty good and they came out fast.
Had the penicillin drink, loved it. Glad to find a bar that had scotch.
One of the best bar/restaurants in Memphis! Daniel and his team are the best.
My girl works here on the weekends great place to hang with friends smoke free environment
Their Joe Shot is amazing! And quickly became one of my favorite spots of the south.
Amazing pizza and great fun atmosphere!!! Must try if you havent already!
Great high quality drinks at reasonable prices with fantastic bartenders
Not worth the effort. Drinks okay, not a diverse dj music sucked, stay home, watch tv.
Love to be outside watching everybody enjoying downtown. Great bartenders
1st time visit, it was ok, not the best menu but its ok.
