My son has autism and we typically struggle to find a place to get his haircut. We absolutely loved the kids room at Ladies and Gentlemen, and our stylist Emily did an outstanding job! The absolute best part was having a room dedicated just to kids away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the salon. I would highly, highly recommend Ladies and Gentlemen and their kids room area to anyone looking for a calm, quiet, colorful environment for their kids to get their haircut. Emily went the extra mile- took her time, listened well and had the skills required to give my little man his best haircut yet!

We recently took our toddler here for his first haircut and had SUCH a wonderful experience! We had Carina & she made sure our son was comfortable :) the kids room was so so cute & welcoming!

I took my 1.5 year old in for a haircut today and was very happy. They have a separate room for kids cuts which I love because I didn’t feel like we were disrupting the salon when my toddler cried. The room has some cute kids chairs, a coloring table and a movie playing. Ashley was our stylist and she was super sweet and patient. She even gave him a toy car. The cut looks super cute! We will be booking with her again and recommending to friends.

I had wanted to brighten up my hair with bigger highlights, not the thin ones. I showed a picture of what I had wanted. The highlights barely show, and it was extremely expensive. The lighting is so off in the salon and it is hard to see the true results until you leave. I’m out almost $300 and have nothing to show for it. I reached out to the company twice and never heard back. I had asked for advice on getting the highlights I actually wanted in the first place.

My daughter wanted her hair cut and we booked with Morgan! She did a great job and Brenda was an amazing instructor! The experience for my daughter was great and she’s so happy with her new haircut!

The staff at the front desk left much to be desired as far as being welcoming but I heard a few decent reviews.They were stiff and seemed as if the smiles were forced.But I continued to my appt.Although my nail tech was personable,and had amazing customer service..and explained the technique she was doing 3 of my tips popped off on Christmas day, not even 24 hrs after my appt.Ive never lost a nail this way. I will have to call in morning to let them know,but after the strained service at desk not sure much will come from it.I will also say if your going to talk about customers,it shouldnt be done in earshot of other customers..not a good look for a business...hoping changes will be made so others have a better experience.1/24-UPDATE-We were refunded via check for the manicure.

I’ve been going to the salon for my hair and Melissa does lovely work. I decided to try their waxing service and get my beauty services at one place. I had a perfect wax once and another that didn’t meet my expectations: a lot of irritation, broken hairs, missed hairs. They were not ingrown hairs and I have had leg waxing many times before so I know what to expect. Because of the irritation I didn’t realize how much hair had been missed, then I went on vacation out of town. So no I didn’t address the issue with them and the time has passed. I’ll return to the lady at another salon that I had gone to before.

Shannon is wonderful! I love the steak shower, foot bath, tea offerings and scented oil selection.before the massage. Massage rooms are very nice. It is the only place I go to be pampered!

This is how Alexa cut my bangs.... after I showed multiple reference photos OF ME with my bangs cut exactly how I like them (think... even?). I went back into the salon a few min later crying after seeing just how bad they were and the manager told me Well everyone likes their bangs differently. I dont think a single person on this earth would be happy with their bangs looking like this. First photo is how they looked when unstyled, second photo is immediately after I left the salon (styled).

The worst customer service Ive experienced in a long time. Called in to pay for my wifes spa appt. The lady, very rudely and very quickly, tells me she has to be here physically before you can pay, and we would have to write your credit card info in a piece of paper where everyone could see it. Terrible.

I had an excellent experience at Ladies and Gentlemen! Kim Janos really listened to what I wanted, and I couldnt be happier with the color and cut. I feel beautiful!! I will definitely be returning!

Lorenzo is my Hairstylist and he always does an amazing job! I have been a repeat client of his for about 4 years now. The front counter started out a little rough but most recently has been better. They now call me by my name when I come through the front doors.

I had a bad experience last week from another hair salon that caused me to call for a hair consultation. I was assigned to Melissa with an appointment for this morning, and she performed “magic on my hair.” She turned my depressing frown to a big smile! It’s the beginning of Spring, and I feel like a flower that blossomed! Thank you so much, Melissa. You made my day, month & new season!

When times are tough, its sometimes hard to spend money on self-care. Ladies and Gentlemen Salon and Spa gives you your moneys worth. Everyone is kind, attentive and there to make you look and feel better. Like you deserve to be pampered.

The staff at Ladies & Gentlemen is always so professional and accommodating. Shannon goes out of her way to help me and my family whenever we need an appointment. Its super convenient and always relaxing when I go there for a massage. Highly recommend!

Very professional and I loved the scalp message. I get really bad headaches I had mentioned that and she remembered that when it was time to wash my color out and gave me a very nice scalp message

This is ridiculous. My daughter got a cut and color yesterday that was abysmal. They messed up the color significantly, putting super wide bleached money pieces that looked like skunk stripes in the front that were dyed peach. They had to redye and tone the hair more than once, which gave her blistered chemical burns. I had to take her today to get her hair color corrected and her scalp treated from another salon. We paid over 200 for them to destroy her hair, and another 100 somewhere else to get it fixed. Unacceptable! I will be reporting them to the BBB

I have to say I’ve never had a better experience. The staff are all friendly and educated on their specialty . Amanda does a phenomenal job with hair color and is very sweet and welcoming! I am beyond impressed with the henna brow work I had done ! Nikki did a fantastic job with my daughter’s cut and style and even took the time to teach us how to recreate her look. Thanks everyone ! Prices are outrageous.. $70 for taking a half an inch off my very short hair and $64 for makeup that looked terrible. Will never visit this salon again.

Caitlin did a fabulous job on my pedicure. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Usually there is a little pain or tickling but this is hands down the best pedicure Ive ever gotten. So gentle and my feet look and feel great. I will definitely be back

Ive been going to ladies and gents for almost 20 years. I love the very personalized experience I get every time I go. Stacy listens and does a wonderful job with my ideas. As a single income family, I tend to put my needs aside. The prices were very affordable and Alyssa was awesome. My hair was messed up from losing a lot due to Covid a few years prior. She gave me a flattering cut to hide the hair loss and we came up with a game plan to help it grow thicker and stronger!

Ive been here twice now and had a wonderful and relaxing experience both times. The first time, I got one of the body treatments. It really is rejuvenating. The extra details like steam bath and scalp massage were EVERYTHING. So worth it!Most recently, I had a pedicure. While it was your standard pedi (soak, exfoliate, massage, nail polish), what set it apart was the ambiance and the terrific staff. Morgan did an awesome job! You really leave there feeling like your best self. 😊

Got a massage with Shannon and it was too-notch. She’s a master, used hot stones for target areas. Add onto that the steam shower before and after, agenda products, aromatherapy during massage—the whole experience was worth $120 per hour.

James was amazing! He did such a great job with my daughters and my hair for my son’s wedding. He was professional, personable and fun. He was terrific

Stacy is wonderful. We have gone to her for years for my sons haircuts. She does great at styling a slightly squirmy kid who doesnt like the sensory of haircuts. We have had a few others throughout the years and it always ends up uneven, but weve never had that issue with Stacy. Shes great at getting him talking and comfortable and before he knows it shes done.

Update: my stylist - Reis - was considerate, supportive, and listened to my wishes when it came to cutting and styling my curly hair. She offered her insight and advice with grace and comfort. I’ll be back for highlights!The process was quick and easy! Linda explained the spray tan process thoroughly and offered aftercare tips and advice. I’ll be back soon!

I love this place. Its the only place Ive been to for a long time for a haircut. First started going there because I found a stylist I really liked and then when he left, I found another terrific stylist who does a great job every time. Shes friendly and always makes sure to take good care of me.

Highly recommend! Talented, friendly stylist that took the time to listen to what I wanted/needed done for my new haircut. It came out just as I had imagined! She also styled my hair with waves, showing me a new technique to use myself, as I told her I have difficulty creating this look at home.I believe they are responsible for promoting their hair products for purchase. However, my stylist did not behave like a pushy salesperson. She identified the products as she used them, explaining their purpose, and let me know they are available. I did end up purchasing an Aveda shampoo product, which was totally worth it!Environment was clean, warm, and professional.

A very good and cool girl took care of my mom on Saturday at 1she was skilled and crafty, planning every step of the way with my mom, was so cool and slick with places to step, and her cut looked great, smooth, beautiful, bringing out also the color- and -Cindy Raines is beautiful. I feel it was healthy to see her. She also has a close family member that shares her same beautiful essence who is excellent at the Legacy Village. I saw him first a few weeks prior and it was special to find out that they were immediate family.

Monica is always so great with my daughter. Her expertise with curly hair and braiding is immeasurable, especially in the Lake county area. It’s so hard to find someone with her skills and she’s extremely gentle and patient also. Can not recommend her enough. So glad we found her. I have been going to L&G for years, usually 1-2 times a year for a trim. The staff is nice and they do a great job. In this particular case I had 12+ inches of hair to spare and they happily took care of sending it to Locks of Love. Lexi was my stylist on this visit and she gave me a cute short cut. I missed the mini facial and hand massage but with the pandemic I cant complain. Overall, awesome!

Brianna did a wonderful 90 minute facial! It was so relaxing and my face looked so smooth after! Will definitely book again!

Came in for a shampoo and style for a wedding that evening. Due to a recent hand surgery a few days before I was unable to wash and style my hair. From the shampoo to style everything was perfect the student technician did a fabulous job and received compliments all evening on my hair!! Could not thank her enough!!! And the cost was very reasonable

Great first experience for my daughter to get color in her hair. I loved my cut, too. Came with a nice head, arm and hand massage. Best part is no hidden fees or costs and no tipping allowed so you always know what you are in for. They have different levels for stylists so you can always ask for a newbie and get a great price. We started coming here because the kid salon was the best deal in town. So sad my kids are getting too big to sit in the little cars and ponies and munch on their free juice and crackers!

Took my son in for a kids cut. Heard Lorenzo was a good stylist for kids. He was extremely patient with my son even when my son started off crying. He took his time and never once was frustrated. My son ended up having to sit on my lap. Lorenzo did not mind at all and moved along with a wiggly toddler who kept his head down watching a show on an iPhone. Super happy they opened back up the kids room and grateful Lorenzo was no nice and went with whatever my son was doing to complete his haircut! The actual haircut turned out wonderful!! I went to Ladies and Gentlemen last week for a therapeutic massage with Shannon, who was fantastic, she could tell exactly which areas were causing me pain and what they needed. Then Stacy gave me my first ever dry curly cut, and I LOVE it! Such a wonderful relaxing day.

Took my son here for his first haircut. Hailey was amazing and his hair looks great! She was so friendly and did so well working with him as he moved his head around. She was professional and was very comfortable cutting his hair which was great to see.

I brought my girls (ages 3&5) in for a haircut and Emily did a fantastic job! The haircuts look great and she was so kind and patient with them. Highly recommend. Temp checks, masks and very clean. We’ll be back, thanks again!

Emily is the best!!! This was my 2nd time seeing her and she is amazing!!! She did an incredible job with my color and cut!!! More importantly, she is very genuine and I had a wonderful time talking and laughing with her. I recommend her whole heartedly!

Ive gone to Ladies & Gentleman three times now for a massage and loved it every time. The complimentary steam shower and foot soaking is amazing. The staff is awesome to work with too!

Still unable to find a hair stylist who knows how to cut my hair. What I asked is a style that wasn’t difficult and I showed her a picture. As I usually do. So it’s clear what I am looking for.She glanced at it and said it was cute. She never asked to see it again before or after she started cutting.It would be helpful if you allowed photos in your reviews so I could show what my hair cut looks like. Believe me it looks nothing the desired cut. If your stylists are unable to do the cut or my hair can’t support the cut they should say so. Be honest.I don’t want to get anyone in trouble but the stylists need more training. I’ve tried both high priced and lower priced stylists. Same result. I can’t go back to Ladies and Gentlemen. I need to find someone who knows how to cut thick hair.

We brought our 5 year old in here because it was time for her first big girl haircut. She was pretty nervous because she hates change and she loves her hair. But Stacy took great care of her. Ive never seen this girl so excited, and shes been glowing for days, absolutely in love with her new look. We live about 40 minutes away, have 2 girls and a third on the way. L&G and Stacy will be the number one pick Everytime

Haircut for my 18 month old Maximus was great. However, we had a Nintendo switch with us we were using to play videos for Max and I set it on the counter. We were so excited that the haircut went so well as it was his first haircut I accidentally left it on the counter in the kids room. I called and was told they do it have it and didn’t see it. I recommend for haircuts but keep your valuables locked in your car and pretend you’re in the projects not Mentor.

Love going here for my sons hair cut. Took him for his 1st hair cut and was an amazing experience and we always go back and nothing but great service. They have a kids kids with lightning McQueen chair, bike, pony and regular chair. Free snacks and treasure box toy. The price includes tip. Just amazing staff and atmosphere for adults and children.

Im very disappointed in the management at ladies and gentlemen. My fiance has been going there for over 10 years. Natalie has been is the one that did her hair last. It turned out very badly. She paid $225 for this hairdo there was no color not even to the roots. The cut was the worst Ive ever seen I could have done better myself. Im not a hairdresser but I know when its cut right. Ive seen her hair look beautiful from there before but not this time it was the worst Ive ever seen. When she went back and talked to Natalie she wanted a charger more for the color. My buddy knows Jack and never Jack never responded to any of his complaints. So I guess you cant even trust your buddies anymore. They claim to be his friend but never reacted on his complaints. We didnt want any money back we just wanted to hair fixed without any extra cost.I would not recommend anybody to this place ever management has no respect for his customers. I see other reviews at first I thought they were crazy but now I know the truth dont trust them!! I guess this is what our country has come to screw the customer so I can keep going to my trips to Florida at their expense. I would not recommend you to go there.

Always top notch service in a relaxing environment. Ive had my hair cut, colored, styled by various stylists, my finger and toe nails done, and full body massages. Everything is always heavenly. I cant get enough of the complementary scalp massage when I get my hair done. I have lived in Kentucky the past 7 years and I still make appointments here while visiting family. My family and I regularly gift each other appointments at or gift cards for L&G.

I took my 2 year old to Ladies and Gentlemen for his first haircut. Despite my son constantly moving and switching seats, Brittany did a fantastic job with his hair and was super patient and kind with him! I love that this salon has a separate room for kids/toddlers, so they are free to roam around without disturbing others in the salon. Definitely recommend for a first hair cut experience - youll keep going back!

I saw Stacy at the Mentor location for a wash,, cut,, and style and I was in and out in 20 minutes, which is great if you want a speedy service. I look forward to getting my hair cut and I just felt rushed for the amount of money it cost. It has been a week now and i am not happy with my cut. There are several uneven sections and I really dont want to go back there to have it fixed.I typically go to the Legacy Village location and I have seen two different stylists there who both were amazing!

I have been here for 2 massages and a pedicure, all given to me as gifts, and until now, I have not been pleased with the results. The people are friendly, and its nice that they are non tipping, but maybe thats why they dont do a good job. The first massage was just terrible, the second was a prenatal massage and the girl kept trying to put me on my back, even though I told her it was extremely uncomfortable. She asked where my problem areas were but Im not sure why because she barely touched my neck and shoulders, which is what I told her. She barely used any pressure, she basically just rubbed lotion all over me. And it seems like they take extra effort to spend as little time actually massaging as they can. In the 60 min massage, they are hands on for maybe 30 min?Pedicure was nice, but again, she barely scraped the calluses, didnt touch the cuticles, and in the end, my nails looked like they were done by a kid.Very disappointing. And very, very expensive.

I was very skeptical when we got there. We were first time customer and they had no record of me making my appointment. I looked in my phone told them when I called, and even knew who our appt was with. The receptionist was very apologetic and took care of it. She managed to squeeze us in. The hair stylist Alyssa was so wonderful with my wiggly two year old. And so patient. When the haircut was over and I went to pay, she said it was on them for the mix up. We will definitely go back!

Alexa is my stylist, she is extremely talented. She is very precise in her cuts and skilled with color and has great communication, providing realistic and honest plans for future color goals. Super talented!! Cuts are perfection. Color is perfection.

I scheduled my service online and picked a hairdresser who was available on the day/time I needed. There were no prices listed on the company website. I just went in for a root touch-up and was charged $100. I think this is WELL over market rate for this service and when I brought it to the managers attention, she told me that I had a Master Hairdresser. I told her I didnt get my haircut, it was just to color my roots and I shouldnt be charged this much. She said I should have know when I booked it that I was scheduling with a Master Hairdresser. Nothing on their website tells you who is a Master Hairdresser or how much the cost of that individuals service is. She didnt believe me that the prices were not on their website and said she would check the website and call me back. Instead of calling me back, she went to the kind hairdresser who colored my roots and told her that I was not happy with her service. The poor girl called me back and said she would give me a free blow out. I had no problem with what the hairdresser did but I DID have a problem paying $100 for it. Management did not take responsibility for this and blamed the poor hairdresser. I then left a message for Nancy Brown, the owner, and explained my problem via voicemail and to date have not received a response. There are MANY hair salons in Lake County and I would definitely NOT recommend Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa.

I have been going here for a few years and lately I have been seeing Lexi! I wanted to lighten my hair and I like how she was honest with me about how long the process would take ( I had really dark hair). She has done a wonderful job and I will continue to see her.

Went in for the first time for a trim. The stylist was nice and asked what I wanted. My hair ended up very uneven and one side of my hair is 4 inches shorter than the other side. I didnt notice at first because she hid the mistakes in huge curls that I didnt want.

I dont get my hair cut often, but when I do I only trust Lisa or Kayla. They do a wonderful job with thinning and layering my hair. I wish this was a tipping salon because they deserve more than just my words of praise. I also love picking up Aveda tea on my way out of the salon.

I have dreaded writing this but it has been a month plus with absolutely no response from the business. I went and got a spa service done on January 11th that I booked online because it came highly recommended by a coworker. I did not have the best spa experience and had the absolute WORST customer service experience. I let the young man at the desk know this before I left and I also filled out the survey they sent 2 days after. I submitted and it popped up that a manager would be in contact.That never happened. I then reached out on February 4th and spoke to a lady and told her my whole story and she filled out paperwork and said someone would be in touch. I have tried to not say anything negative but at this point, I am really upset. I will most definitely not be returning and I would never recommend.

I usually love it here. Paul and Alisa are awesome, BUT, this last hair appointment I got my hair colored. I spent 5 hours here and spent 300$ to end up with my back covered in bleach and spots in my hair. As a professional communication should have been present for one on considering the time frame, I would have been happy to come back and have it finishes instead of rushing and poor quality, not to mention she curled my hair without even asking how I wanted it so she could take pics,(which may have been to hide the dye spots) which she would have seen the MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF BLEACH ALL OVER MY BACK that she didnt have the decency to tell me about and I went out in public like that, humiliating. I understand accidents happen but OWN UP and had the decency to tell me. She was also coughing by me the whole time, but saying she wasnt sick but I ended up with a cold within 2 days.I WILL NEVER GET MY HAIR DYED HERE AGAIN. This is the 2nd horrible dye experience. The last time a blow dryer almost caught fire by my head and she threw it across the room, made up her own colors and said colors were objective or some stupid nonsense. Brown is not red.. and then ugly cheetah spots.I have higher expectations for 300$ hair coloring. VERY disappointed.

This was the best massage I’ve ever had. Paul listened to my concerns and did a fantastic job. I have scoliosis and have had two spinal fusions. No amount of physical therapy or exercise has ever provided the relief that Paul was able to give me in just one hour.

Well, I’m really kinda mad right now. I went to Ladies and Gentlemen for what I thought would be a special cut before a trip to the UK. I paid a little more than I usually do because It was a special occasion. To be fair I told her not to scalp me . Well , she certainly didn’t do that , as a matter of fact.... she did next to nothing. Now here I am a week and 2 days later and in bad need of a haircut. Don’t have time now! Thinking of running up to best cuts for a quick trim. I really expected more from you. Well..I had to update this review as when I returned to the Salon to complain; they did everything to make it right. They fixed my haircut and Cookie , the mgr was very understanding and kind. Linda was able to tweak my haircut at no charge and I’m very satisfied with the results.

I have been a long time customer of Ladies & Gentlemen. The stylists are exceptional - and for special occasions, very creative with evening looks even for short hair! The spa at Legacy is remarkable - my favorite place to go for stress relief or just pampering. from facials to massages, they are great! Although I have my favorites, I have not had a bad experience with anyone at any location. HIGHLY recommend L& G Salon and Day Spa. My husband and son know a L&G gift card is a perfect gift - always the right size and color - and they never go to waste!

Horrific customer service and communication between their call center and salon. Called to say I’d be late, they said no problem, arrived to be very nastily told couldn’t keep appointment. The receptionist was super rude. Had this same experience years ago when the “senior stylist” burned my hair literally, but thought I’d give them one more chance. They are all about money, not customer satisfaction! Also, horrible appt making system with no call Or text to remind you about appt. Never had a worse experience with a customer focused business and never will return. I also found it odd that there was no description or accolades about their stylists on their website and while making appointments. Just names with a last initial. How are we supposed to know who we are booking?

I was very pleased. The student I had was very good and the instructor was great. The instructor was so patient with the young lady I will be going back again.

My wife went to this salon and they destroyed her hair. I went to the salon for a color and cut. The stylist destroyed her hair and used Bleach in my hair that turned my hair yellow, orange, burgundy and pink. The color ran all over my head. The hair looks like straw and the hair was not colored correctly. The hair color runs in different colors all over my head. My hair is completely destroyed from the stylist that apparently does not have the knowledge how to color correctly.

We love getting the kids haircut there because they have an adorable kids room. Most stylists are nice but some could be nicer especially with the kids. I do like that you dont have to tip as it is a no tipping facility.

Had a facial done last night by Jessica which was out of this world!From the moment you walk into the spa area, you feel like you have left the outside world and your worries behind. Love the foot soak which helps you decompress before your service. Jessica is very knowledgeable and explained my type of skin and what type of products would be of benefit. Her touch is amazing! Worth every penny--I will be booking again!

All went super easy. I called from my car in their parking lot to get instructions. They called back within minutes of my appointment to tell me they were ready for me. Once I got inside they were all setup for a smooth path of social distancing with my temperature taken. Then Megan met me to bring me back for my haircut. It really couldnt have gone better.

I have been getting my hair done there every couple of months for the past 3 years. The staff is extremely helpful and very welcoming. Gotta love the free mini facial and hand/arm massage with every visit!

I only watched as my wife got her nails done. She had an enjoyable time and her nails looked great! The complimentary tea was delish! The staff pampers and helps at any opportunity. I seldom rate anything 5 star...this place deserves it.

Color was good but when she cut my hair she cut it straight across 😈 not tapered like I had it.... I did not come in like that so why would she think it is ok to do that? I told her that I was growing it out. Just a trim. I was not pleased at all. I will never ever go back...ever.. I paid $210. Waste of my money. I will go back to Jennifer and company...

Ive tried a lot of different massages but Paul with ladies and gentlemen of mentor BY FAR has done the best job. I recommend him to everyone and he is one of the reasons I continue to go to ladies and gentlemen. The ladies I have got my hair done with are always super friendly and the aveda tea is one of my favorites! Occasionally raffles and free products with gift card purchases around holidays. Also, I like how products can help raise donation money for good causes.

Booked with a stylist to save money. Couldn’t bring in my purse. Temp, waiver, mask and hand washing before being seated into a broken chair!!! Was told right away there would be no blowout due to electrical issue? No scalp or hand massage. I had to ask for edge wax which they were out of. Be Curly does not suffice for keeping darker color off your forehead???Stylist had not a clue on how to style my naturally curly hair! She tried to comb through a dime sized amount of product into my mass of curls?Disappointed!!!!!

The worst part is that you paid money for itMy recent experience did not meet my expectation for a salon of this reputation.$45 ... its basically a bowl cut on the sides / back.Thats not what i wanted.Still feel where my ear was cut with the electric clippers.When paying at reception, i used about 30 dollars off of a gift card. After, i was nearly charged $45 to my card. But I saw it, luckily.I was nearly charged $75 to get my ear cut and i dont even want to be seen on Christmas looking like this.I expect better and this salon can do better. There is no excuse for this service - we pay for the quality.

So my kid was was in for his third ever haircut. The first kid cut was free! This time, my 2 year old kid was very unruly and the stylist kept her cool and worked for over an hour trying to get this cut done. It looks nice, but becase my kid was not cooperating, it was not the exact cut I wanted, they didnt even charge us!?!?! Anyways, thats the kinda service that is making me scedule all of our family cuts there! Great customer service!

Shannon was just what I needed for my all my aches and pains. I’ve had a lot of neck, shoulder and back pain since I started working from home...to the point I can’t sleep due to constantly tossing and turning. I only had 40 minutes but she was able to lessen the pain so I could sleep. I will be returning so she can work the rest of my kinks out. I do miss getting hot tea, a foot soak and steam shower so hopefully those return soon.

I made an appointment for a color stating I wanted an experienced colorist because I was having trouble with my hair being dry and damaged from extensions . My stylist was very nice and gave me a good cut .She was however very young and not what I was expecting as far as experience based on what I asked when I booked my appointment . My hair color in the salons lighting was ok . I didn’t notice anything wrong with it . It wasn’t what I wanted but I was ok with it . However when I went into natural lighting my hair was orange . Very brassy and nothing like I wanted . The blonde highlights are yellowish orange and the brown is brassy orange on top . I had to go to work and people commented on my orangish hair asking what I did to it .This happens sometimes I’m sure with color and I understand. However , I called three times this week asking if I could have it toned or corrected . I was assured someone would call me back . I am so disappointed that I haven’t heard from anyone at the salon . After three times calling it’s clear that my orange hair will need to be fixed by another salon . Not what I expected from this salon and honestly I will not be going back .

I have been quite ill recently and my regular stylist, whom I visited receently, not only is technically gifted, but also is kind, helpful, compassionate, and a thoughtful friend. I also have my nails done regularly and L&G. My manicurist also is a skilled, compassionate individual.

A lovely way to start a new year with a cut and color, plus the little extras that make L&G unique. Been a customer for years and Shannon has always made me feel special. Keep up the good work!

Nice salon, friendly staff. We love the kids room there and they generally do a good job. I highly recommend Carina. She is very good , with boys haircuts anyway, however her timeslots are limited so book in advance.The kids room is very welcoming for little kids that may be hesitant or afraid of haircuts. There are cars, fire trucks, motorcycle and a pony to sit on. They also have a coloring table, television, juice boxes and snacks for the children. My sons hair was actually cut once, while he was coloring! Haha. I have not come across a stylist that was not very experienced and patient with children. But again, we do highly recommend Carina. The rest of the salon is good as well. I have only had haircuts and updo experiences. I recommend asking someone for a referral based on the particular service you are looking for. Also, this is a nontipping salon which is nice since it takes the worry out of wondering how much is an appropriate tip. Its all included in, what I feel, is a decent price.

I went in for a trim after struggling with extreme hair loss at an earlier point in my life. My hair was finally growing longer and fuller (this took years). I confirmed with the stylist that wed only be taking off about one inch and fixing up my layers. I was faced away from the mirror the whole time so I wasnt prepared to be turned around and see 3+ inches missing from my hair, as well as chunky layers that look almost like bangs. Unfortunately, this isnt the first negative experience Ive had here.

I was very happy with Jenni, but Im confused when people mention the no tipping policy. They told me it was $70 and my card was charged $84. Even my friend at work who recommended this place mentioned the No Tipping! Someone explain please! I dont mind tipping if Im satisfied, but Im confused.

My son got the worse hair cut ever! I am so mad it seriously looks horrible! I called and made a complaint and someone will supposedly call me later today or tomorrow. This is unacceptable. I get my hair don’t here and so does my husband and my son has too. And we never had a problem. My son has had bad hair cuts and even here at ladies n gentlemen in Mentor and I never complained but this one is HORRIBLE!( I wish I could post the photos but it’s not letting me .) UPDATE: manager called me from the Salon and was very understanding and offered to fix his hair or a gift card for his next cut. Even though they were nice and offered a solution I still wish this hadn’t happened, since my son’a hair looks ridiculous.

Love this place. The products they use, aveda, smell incredible and they give you a hand and arm massage and a mini facial while you are at the shampoo bowl. Everyone there is so friendly and make great suggestions if you are not sure what cut or color to get.

Its always a good experience in this salon. They offer a lot of different services, a little pricey but definitely worth it.

I think that this place is incredibly overrated. Many of the girls working there are very young and right out of school. While getting my hair done for a friends wedding they were gossiping about customers and very unprofessional. They also do a horribly poor job at airbrushing my makeup. My makeup was literally about 4 shades too dark and the girl kept trying to lighten it by caking on a lighter shade of makeup. It looked awful and I eventually wound up scrubbing it off at the hotel room and redoing my own makeup for my friends wedding. It was a horrible, and very expensive experience. Please go elsewhere!

My experience , most hair stylists can not cut left and right side same.Usealy, my right side is not pretty. They are all right handed. I think somthing to do with that.Probably teachers Dont know how. I was cutting my hair by one of teacher before but she didnt cut very well. The school need better teacher and students need a lot more training.

Posting this update for ladies and gentlemens response.... Been going there for around 27 years and the service has gotten bad..the place has really went downhill especially for the price you pay... You used to be able to get flavored coffees and a nice long arm and hand massage and a long scalp massage when they are shampooing you from the stylists assistants but now it seems they dont have assistance anymore and they pretty much just rush through it... I do however love my stylist even though Ken left and I have a new stylist but I just wish it used to be like it was 27 years ago... Dont be mad at me ladies and gentlemen hair salon, I just wish you would go back to the way you used to be... Still love you though!

The only complaint is the noise level: with the cement walls and high ceilings, there is a lot of background noise detracting from the overall relaxing experience. That being said, Katy Reis is a fantastic stylist that I highly recommend to anyone going to the Mentor store.

I have been going to the Mentor location for the past 2 years with the hairstylist Mary Miles. I was just informed that I am permanently banned from the establishment due to the fact that I asked to get a part of my haircut corrected. Whenever I got my hair cut and asked for something done or shortened Mary would give a dirty look and roll her eyes. I think her performance as a stylist is dismal and, she by no means should be a Senior Stylist. Shortly after being banned from Ladies and Gentlemens Mentor location (by Barb the manager), I had found a new place and my new stylist did everything I was asking for perfectly.. the first time. To anyone looking for a stylist, I do not recommend Mary Miles what so ever! I personally think if you went to a cosmology school you could get a better haircut.

Ive treated myself on my birthday to a spa day for many years. I have gone to many of the other spas in my area and NONE even come close to the quality the L&G has! I really am treated like a Queen for a day!!

I had a perm done their and it took 3 times to do a perm Becca who thought she knew how to do a perm. She does not know how to do a perm screwed up my hair and the 3rd time Becca used very very harsh chemicals and it fried my hair and its not a perm at all its all straight and 2 other woman got perms at ladies and gentlemen salon got their hair ruined i would never go back the shampoo and conditioner products are organic and they ruined my hair. Becca ruined my hair. Not a hair stylists she does not know. how. to do a spiral perm. It does not take 3 times to do a perm only 1 time. My hair is ruined and my hair will not grow back the harsh chemicals. She needs to go back to school to learn how to do a spiral perm Cookie said we will fix the area that is ruined both their fault they should of not even touched my hair. They will not even take back the shampoo or conditioner cant use the hair product it?? Ruined my hair?? They dont care??? Its organic the shampoo/conditioner. Who uses organic???? No body at ladies and gentleman asked if I wanted coffee or water shame on you???

I had shellac applied on February 25th and by Monday February 28th it was lifting up. Left a message with the manager of the Mentor location but no reply. $53.00 plus tip. Very disappointing
