MENS SPA SALON MINNEAPOLIS

My groomsmen (and one of their kids) and I visited the morning of my wedding for touch ups and trims. Some of the guys ended up getting more styled than others, while I just had a beard cleanup. We were so happy with the results. Every single one of us looked our best for the wedding. The styles were insanely well done and Joshua in particular was great about listening to what I wanted with the beard cleanup. The staff was friendly and very flexible working with the groups needs. Were not local but if we were, wed be back!

Elizabeth is my go to girl now. Great conversation and always a good haircut. Makes me wanna come more than I need to just for a relaxing afternoon. Find your person here and stick with them because it’s a great salon.

Ive found this to be a very comfortable place for my spa needs. Always clean and I like the modern salon styling too. Damian is my go to for pedicures, he does all the steps you would find at a resort. The massage chairs are great. Highly recommendedCailee did a fantastic massage and facial. I highly recommend her. Very friendly. I drifted off so many times. It felt like I was on a tropical island escape. 🤗

Im a first-time customer with Chris (sp?) cutting my hair today. I had a fantastic experience: she was very attentive, friendly, fast, and efficient. She cut my hair exactly as I desired and we had a great conversation as well.

I want to love this place, very close to me and they do great work. But every time I’ve scheduled an appointment it gets cancelled day of and I’m left scrambling as I usually get my hair cuts a day or two before I leave for my business trips. It’s extremely frustrating especially since I really want to support somewhere close to me, but yall keep shooting yourselves in the foot.

This is the only place I go to get my Beard trimmed. Josua does an amazing job! He is an artist with his craft! I dont even live in Minnesota but I will fly through here when Im traveling in the area to get a Beard trim from him!

Laney was an excellent stylist. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The vibe is cool downtown hip. I will be back.

This upscale Salon has some very down to earth and friendly, competent employees. They offer specialty services (in addition to regular) that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else in Minneapolis. Their prices are reasonable.The atmosphere is modern, bright and clean. I gave it 4 stars because I think they could improve the immaculateness of the place. Also offering coffee, tea or bottled water would be a nice touch, and is common at many similar establishments.Edit: They no longer provide some specialty services that are different to find. 3 stars.

Had a Mani Pedi with the best friend. The place could use a good cleaning but my technician was just ok.. She was nice and did a decent job. The music selection was horrible and the talents were lacking. We will not be coming back. This was just barely a mediocre experience. It wasnt horrible but it wasnt good either. They probably do a great job with hair but for mens manicure and pedicure, for the price, I will spend my money elsewhere.

First time going here and the overall experience was great. Was in for a Manicure and Pedicure. I plan to be back soon.

Today was my first time coming to the Mens Spa Salon at Minneapolis and the staff and service was amazing! One of the best haircuts I have ever gotten, and definitely worth the money. Their chairs are also the most comfortable I have sat in, definitely will be back for my next haircut!

Really Nice place, customer service was excellent and the haircut even better, I went to the shop to fix a haircut I had that was a mess, Nick took care of me and besides my English not being perfect he understood everything very well. Damian has been cutting my hair now for over 6 years and the man NEVER MISSES. I’ve lived in CO and NY and I always wait until I come home to MN to get my hair cut. Not only does he consistently give me the best haircuts I’ve ever had, he’s an incredibly cool guy and an awesome conversationalist. Brad has done a wonderful job curating the elite male grooming experience. Looking forward to coming here for another 6 years.

Very bad experience! Not okay with the idea of rotating/spinning chair where I cant see what the stylist was doing with my hair and as a result ended up in having my hair cut too short and possibly the worst haircut ever!The stylist- Jaeger never asked me about my comfort level or explained any products he was applying. He was more keen on chatting with his colleagues!The view of trash cans while getting my hair washed isnt the most appealing one.Cant believe that I paid 53 bucks for this! They dont even serve tea or coffee!

I got my hair cut here today and I’m not exaggerating when I say 10 people went out of their way to give me a compliment. The price point here is definitely higher than a bargain hair salon but honestly it pays itself off in how noticeably better it makes you look. I had Joshua who was great, obviously knew what he was doing and gave me some great tips on hair hygiene and maintenance.

I have had my hair cut by so many barbers and stylists in the twin cities area and usually ended up being disappointed, not this time. Avery took the time to understand my hair style and asked me questions throughout the cut to further understand how to style my hair in the way I liked and he felt would work well. It ended up being one of my favorite hair cuts I have gotten. I would highly recommend booking an appointment with Avery he is professional, humors, and down right skilled.

I cannot express how incredible all of the talent here is.I was lucky enough to have Jakob cut my hair about six months ago and having curly hair is often difficult to make look good. Ive had two haircuts here now and both were great. Avery did one and Katherine did the other just recently. Both were really nice and easy to talk to and also knew exactly how to cut my hair (even though Im bad at describing that). The price isnt bad and the quality makes it very worthwhile. I have been going there for more than a year now. Kat gives a great haircut that hold its shape for weeks after. Great place, where they are not hurrying you through to get onto the next client.

Katherine has been fantastic. I have struggled to find a mens haircut that is a good blend of value and quality. Mens Spa is it.They have done a great job of keeping people separate and feeling safe during the pandemic. Prior to that they were all about service and amenities, like coffee and spare shirts to change into so your clothes didnt get dirty.My rating would be higher once the amenities are able to open back up.

I had a cut and beard trim with Jacob. He is amazing. Very knowledgeable and kind. I told him about my horrible experience at another barber and he did everything he could to let me know this space is welcoming and safe. It was just what I needed and Jacob made me a forever customer. Most important the cut was on point and I can’t wait to go show it off lol

If you come here for a haircut ask for Josh. I’ve never had a better haircut, and the effect it has on the ladies is VERY noticeable. Shortly after I got my haircut here, I needed to run to the hardware store, and after I finish loading my car with what I need, the pretty customer service girly just casually slipped in “Hey me and my girlfriend are down for a third if you’re interested” and that would not have happened without the GODLY middle part from my main man Josh. A $51 haircut sounded steep to me at first but now it’s the only place I go to cut my hair.

I receive a massage and a pedicure. I got a Groupon for the 80-minute massage and the mani-pedi but didn’t get the pedicure but that could have been my fault when booking. Massage was okay, very relaxing which I probably needed. Pressure was a little lighter than expected. Pedicure was quick but did the job. Both people who did them were really great people! Free parking in back is a plus! Just not sure I’d go back.

I have pretty curly hair, and up until now its been seemingly impossible to find someone who could cut it well. Ive had haircuts with three of the stylists at Mens Spa and theyve all done a fantastic job of it. Easily the best haircuts Ive ever received. Theyre attentive, and actually listen to what you want to do with your hair instead of just ignoring you and doing what they feel like. Damien and Megan in particular are both stellar. It feels so good to finally consistently have a haircut Im happy with. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I have been getting my haicut at the Mens Spa since they opened. I have been seeing Megan there and she does an amazing job. I always get compliments on my new dew. They are a cut above the rest.

Ive had great haircuts at Mens Spa, with three different stylists. The space is clean, well laid out, with plenty of room to sit and drink your complimentary espresso. Its really well lit - the entire south wall is glass. At first, the environment was intimidating to me, but the staff was great at making me comfortable. Ive had entertaining conversations with the staff, but Ive also been comfortable saying nothing and just checking out for a while during my appointment. Its very impressive how the stylists go about their business. While they study your head and hair like their about to preform surgery, they ask for input. Im not good at talking about how I want to look, but it wasnt an issue. The stylists are happy to give their ideas, and each time, weve talked through it and Ive come away with great haircuts. The complimentary scalp massage/mini-facials are awesome, but Im personally not really comfortable with a guy touching my face so much - so, Ive passed on it. Overall, Ive had great, relaxing experiences, and theyve given me the best haircuts Ive had.

Such great customer service! Been to this salon twice, once for an appointment and another to purchase a gift card. Both times I had pleasant experiences. My first experience I had an appointment for an undershave- even though they were used to male clients or clients typically with shorter hair styles they were ready to jump in and get my idea to come to life and they did! Such a great experience. Definitely recommend this salon to people.

Ive had several haircuts here over the years. These men and women are pros. Every person I interact with has been friendly, kind and very good at what they do. Stephanie is amazing - I will absolutely be back - great service every time and always a great experience.

Walking in, it is obvious that the atmosphere they are going for is very sleek and trendy. Both times I have been there, the receptionist and staff has been very nice and welcoming. I really appreciated the option to change into one of their provided T-shirts. I have had good haircuts both times I went. The only problem Ive had is that I feel a bit condescended on when I am unaware of how I want my haircut, and I often have difficulty describing it or remember how they cut it last time. Overall, I enjoyed my experience but maybe it would help if they recorded their techniques in the computer so they knew what my preferences were for next time.

When I moved to Minneapolis, I was concerned about finding the right spot. In my experience it is hard to find a place that has the right staff to build a great haircut experience. Men’s Spa has been my go to place for the last 3 years. I had the chance to get helped by every single hair artist there, and every time the quality has been great. The place is well located, with parking and they evolved quickly to fit the needs of life during COVID. Highly recommended!!

I recommend Megan C - I have been seeing her for mens cuts for about two years and Ive never gotten a cut from her that I didnt like. He takes the time to find the perfect style for me and always provides a great cut. Fiercely loyal to Megan, tho I’ve always had standard-setting experiences at Men’s Spa. Josh did a stellar job when I had to get in in a pinch, and very grateful for his advice and stylings. people don’t understand how nice it is to be pampered until they’ve experienced it. while haircuts are my main purpose, I’ve had a pedicure that really fixed my feet.they’re products are high quality (including both Clean and Avesta) and will make sure you impress whoever you’re aiming fer.

I had a haircut with Joshua on Sunday; Ive known Joshua since he worked in NYC. We both moved here recently and Im so lucky that hes found a home at Mens Spa! His work is detailed and he listens to exactly what you want; he also is comfortable with both clipper and scissor cuts. It was also super easy to book my appointment online, I highly recommend seeing Joshua for your haircut!

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful, Nick cut my hair and did an incredible job, he was very fast, courteous, and informative. he even helped me get some new product to style my hair. facility is very clean and inviting.

I had a longish mop on my head for years, and when I decided to cut it all off I wanted to go somewhere a little nicer and more professional than my usual great clips. I had Damien and he was a fantastic stylist, he was very communicative and kind, and did a great job. The full treatment was excellent, including a shirt to change into that felt so luxurious. The music selection, the decor, I loved it. I even bought a pomade afterwards, and still use it now. After the cut, Damien told me Thanks for trusting me with your big change!Will definitely come back. Could not recommend it enough.

The best cutter in town- Damian. I’m very particular, and I’ve tried many places in the past. Nobody- I mean nobody- cuts my hair like Damian. Plus, super nice guy and professional at the same time. And Mens Spa is a very pleasant environment without being over the top on superfluous frills. Great staff too. All good, all around- no better place to be!

Avery did an amazing job! Personable, friendly, and talented! As a mixed person of color I have struggled with my curls for years! Avery was an expert with curls and colors! The space was clean, partitioned with amazing social distancing rules put in place. I felt safe as well as comfortable. I am excited to come back again.

Possibly the greatest place I have ever gotten my hair cut. The staff is great and certainly knows what they are doing. The atmosphere is perfect. If you are looking for a fun place to get your haircut I highly recommend mens spa. Not only is the staff great but, so are their products. To date my favorite hair products. I love this spa! I had a haircut. My regular go to is Damian...he is not a barber, but a hair artist. He provided a wonderful cut that is always the best. I was not disappointed. He shaped and sculpted wonderfully. Everyone is highly trained, most graduated from the Aveda Institute. You cannot go wrong at the Mens Spa.

I had an appointment and was running slightly behind I was called and told them I’m walking downtown on my way. I got a second call and told them I’m 5 minutes away, just to be toldonce I arrived that I unfortunately since it was fifteen minutes past the appointment, I could not be serviced! DO NOT GIVE BUSINESS TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! Horrible customer service! Why wasn’t I told on the second phone call just not to come.

I have been here twice and had a great experience both times. I have been a long time customer at Accolades in St Paul, their sister location. MENS SPA focus on a mans hair-care is great! It is a step up from the traditional barber shop but still provides a very low-key, comfortable atmosphere. I have also brought both my sons - 17 and 14 - and they both walked out wearing haircuts I could have NEVER talked them into. I have enjoyed the experience so much I bought the recent Groupon for several male friends and purchased the 3-pack deal while I was there yesterday. I can recommend Jenni (who used to cut my hair at Accolades) and Damian (who cut my hair yesterday).

Cat was delightful. You know how sometimes theres this social pressure to keep up a conversation with this hairstylist youve never met in your life? None of that. She was pleasant, amiable, and I felt perfectly comfortable just sitting back and letting her do her work, her art, her craft. 10/10, would recommend.

I love my visits to the Mens Spa! Jacob does an excellent job with my hair every time and you can tell he is very invested in making sure that it is done just right. Every detail is taken care of from your drink to a t-shirt to wear so you dont get hair on your clothes. I highly recommend it. My only complaint is that they took away the year of grooming package, which made the haircuts slightly more affordable.

I’ve been going to Men’s Spa for over 7 years, and have had Megan the entire time, every 3-4 weeks. I’m always treated well by all the staff, greeting me, offering me coffee and water, and scheduling me. Megan does a fantastic job on my hair and is a delightful conversationalist. I highly recommend Men’s Spa and Megan!

The staff although young are also very respectful and courteous. Upon arriving they informed me where I can hang my coat, offered me a temporary shirt to wear so my current shirt wouldnt be get hair all over it and offered me a drink. When I accepted the drink they asked if I wanted lemon or non-lemon water so that was very thoughtful of them to consider that. The waiting chairs in the lobby are extremely comfortable with cushion and a slight back lean on them too. I had to wait about an extra 10 minutes after my schedule appointment for my hair stylist (Avery) to finish his current appointment but that was understandable because it during peak hours. Avery is easy to talk to & hes very engaging in the conversations. But even if you dont feel like talking he also doesnt try to force a conversation. He also gave me the best damn haircut Ive ever had in my life.

The service was great! I drank a cappuccino while getting my hair cut. I had a heated towel on my face, a shave and a good haircut. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, but not too overbearing. Its a professional looking furniture and decorations. I am definitely going to go back.

I bought my dad a gift card here for his birthday and he loved it! Nick did an amazing job and the staff are so friendly and helpful. He used to go to Sports Clips for hair cuts and now refuses to go anywhere but the Mens Spa. You will not be disappointed!

I have been coming to Men Spa for a couple months. The staff, and space is always very friendly and clean. Avery does a great job listening to what my needs might be and putting that into my haircut. For example: (keeping the hair long on the front and trimming up the sides and back).The spa is always inspiring with great pictures on the wall and magazine to come up with great Jeanie ideas. I also like the idea that you could do many different services besides hair.

After relocating to Minneapolis in December 2017, I have spent a fair amount of time trying to find the best place to get a high quality haircut. As someone who thoroughly loves Aveda products, I prefer to stick to salons that are attached to these products. Since my time in the cities, I have received my haircut at the JUUTs of Roseville, Downtown (now closed), and frequently go to the Uptown location. Though my hair at those places has never been bad, it was not often that I left absolutely loving my hair.So - I decided to make a switch and try this location out due to the consistency of high reviews. For my appointment, I saw Nick and he was perhaps the best stylist I may have ever had. I do not say this lightly! For additional context, I am a bit picky with my hair because of certain areas of thinning/receding and he made it blend perfectly.For the haircut: it started right on time, he took the time to ask detailed questions about my hair, throughout the cut we chatted about a bunch of random things and got to know each other a bit more, then shampoo and styling. Honestly, I felt very confident about the location because of what I read online. This was important because for almost the entire haircut, my back was to the mirror. And when the chair turned around - I was incredibly happy. Literally the best haircut Ive had in ages!!Though the past reviews are positive, they simply do not do this place justice - its great people, great vibes, and great service. If you are unsure of where to go - just go here and you wont end up trying any other place! I know this will be my new permanent place in the Twin Cities!

Men’s Spa Salon has an excellent atmosphere with soft lights, nice smells and comforting music. Every time I see Kathrine I’m impressed with how gentle and skilled she is and how relaxing the overall experience is. I can not recommend her enough.

I cannot speak highly enough about Avery, a stylist at the men’s spa. Avery is not only incredibly talented, but has been so kind and accommodating to me and my partner. There is no better stylist in the Twin Cities!

Nick completely botched my haircut. I lost a years worth of hair growth progress since nick didnt seem interested in the haircut. His interest was with socializing with other staff and not paying attention, even at a bare minimum. At no point during the haircut did he bother stopping and asking me for feedback. The chair was pointed away from the mirror so I had no idea what he was doing until the end of the haircut, but it was already too late. If you have long hair, you risk losing it all by trusting the staff. Beware.

Ive been going to Mens Spa for many years and I love it! Ive mainly gotten my hair cut from Jaeger and he is amazing. That said, Ive had great experiences and gotten great hair cuts from many of their barbers. I highly recommend checking them out!

QUALITY SERVICE is key for me. Was going to my local barber shop and local massage envy but my wife gave me a gift card for Christmas so I checked it out. Got an stellar cut from Skye. He was careful with what I wanted and gave me a great mini facial. My massage couldnt have been more perfect. Jorge was professional and attentive. I had a back injury in 2014 which I mentioned and he had me feeling great after I walked out. I even pre-booked which is something I never did before. These guys are the real deal. 5 stars in my book.

I have been going to Mens Spa for a couple years and have had a great experience! The stylist I see is Damian. I appreciate him, his talent, and his approach very much. His skill level is fantastic and who he is as a person is equally wonderful!

When I lived in Minneapolis, the Mens Spa was the only place I would go for haircuts. The staff is friendly, professional, and do good work at reasonable prices. Recently flew back for a wedding and made an appointment for the morning of, and as always had a wonderful experience with a great cut!

I have been going to Mens Spa and its sister salon Accolades once every couple of months for several years now. Mens Spa is a high-end experience with a mid-range price. If you have the time, Id recommend that you accept the offer of the free mini facial massage and wrap with the hot towel. Its very relaxing. The stylists Ive had have always been friendly and easygoing. I usually get a same-day appointment with whomever is available and Ive always received a very good haircut, but for an even more high-end experience you can reserve ahead of time on-line or by phone with a particular stylist if you want.

I had a great experience when I recently went. They had a promotion going for first-time customers, but even without its very affordable for an Aveda-quality salon. My stylist was skilled and was able to help me find a haircut I liked. I really enjoy all the extra touches, like the face mask, or the hot drink as you wait. I will definitely be coming back again.The only thing that irked me was the awkward dressing rooms.

Ive been using Mens spa for about 2 years now, and everybody is very friendly and professional and knowledgeable from the owner to the hair dressers. If youre a technology addict like me you can also make your reservation on line in the middle of the night. No need to wait for the next morning if you feel like it.Good espresso coffee (free) and musicA little anecdote, once I went and the parking lot was full and I parked where I risked to get a ticket, they asked an employee to move his car to allow me to use that spot. Isnt the best customer service?Highly recommend this place.

My son and I have been going to see Damian for haircuts for quite a while now. My son rocks super long and curly hair, and I have next to none...Damian does an amazing job on us each and every time. I find him to be professional and easy to communicate with, super laid back, and he seems like a super cool guy to boot!!

New to town. Just moved into the building next door. Thought it would be convenient, thought I would give it a try. When I moved here someone suggested it. I drove by multiple times and was extremely turned off by the Christmas lights year round using as decor? Coming from Scottsdale you don’t see that at a spa. I gave them a chance. Great beard trim. My issue is as usual lately: bad customer service. Or clients you should be building. I’m shocked at the amount of reviews. Just warning the boys. You sign something that says if you miss an appt. Even if it’s your second appt for a BEARD TRIM that takes 10 mins. They blow you up email text calls saying you are fined. Ummmm. Really? If you were kind enough to send a text or email saying “hey just wanted to give you a heads up about our cancellation policy BUT would you like to reschedule.”… my answer would’ve been. Of course I’m so sorry. As usual when I make a mistake. BUT that was petty for a 2 star “spa”? This is just my opinion and take away. Never had this happen with a beard trim. Barber shops forever now. Thanks.

I had a manicure scheduled for the day before my wedding. I have never gotten a manicure, but thought it would be good to have my fingers looking good for the wedding. Three hours before my appointment, they called and canceled on me due to the stylist having food poisoning. Understandable, but they did not have a backup and could not get me in, despite it being the day before my wedding. I would think they could figure something out due to the nature of the situation. It was frustrating, as it was too late to figure something else out. I would not recommend them to others due to their poor customer service.

I was very satisfied with my experience. Avery took his time and gave me a solid cut that held up much longer than when I pay less for a cut. Great atmosphere and friendly service from all team members I encountered. I’ll be coming back.

Ive seen Damien at Mens Spa for around 3 or 4 years now. I started seeing Damien while leaving nearby in NE Minneapolis, mostly due to convenience. I was so impressed with Damien, and the entire team at Mens Spa, that I have continued to use his services despite moving further and further away from downtown.Damien in particular is kind, professional, and has a great eye for details.Beyond my normal haircut I have also gotten massages, facials, and a pedicure throughout the years. All of my service providers have been top notch.

Ive been going here for three or four years, and since Jaegger first cut my hair, I wont see anyone else. This kid is incredible, able to take my terrible explanations of the style I want and actually deliver with the exact cut that I want. Any time I tell him to switch up my style, he always does it perfectly. Ive never met a barber that executes his work with such perfection. The rest of the staff there is top notch as well, thanks fellas.

I really enjoy my experience at Men Spa. I havent had any other service other than a haircut. They offer you a t-shirt to change into so you dont get hair all over your clothes, they offer refreshments, a complimentary scalp and shoulder massage, and warm towel over your face. The stylist are always professional and sweet. the whole atmosphere is sleek and sexy and you really feel like a gentleman being here.I plan on trying other services the next time I go in.

I took the time to grow a full beard this last year and needed some sound consulation on how to best groom and care for it. I met Nick and he has been a rock star! He has impeccable attention to detail, is personable and knowledgable and I go out of my way to schedule trims in advance for his services. I had to use another salon once when they were booked and, they had nothing on Mens SPA (3 minutes with a clipper and no personality). I definitely recommend the staff - they are true artists!

I have been a loyal Men’s Spa customer for about five years. I have worked with many stylists there and they all did top-notch, high quality work. I used to go to Gent Cuts, Juut, and Cole’s. Men’s Spa is far superior to any of those places, one reason is because their appointments are forty-five minutes long and they are not trying to rush your haircut. They carry Aveda products and their own line of natural products that are amazing!

I cant say enough about the great the service, value and overall amazing experience I receive from Jake and everyone at MENS SPA. From the confirmation texts to mini-facials, t-shirts, neck shaves, etc, they have it all covered. The environment is clean, friendly and provides an oasis of relaxation. So far I have been to Mens Spa twice. The first time was with the use of a groupon. Mens Spa has a comfortable, modern atmosphere from the moment you walk-in the door. The staff behind the desk gets you checked in, takes your coat, offers you a t-shirt to change into if you want and also offers you a beverage. Both times I have had Jake as a stylist. He was straight to the point of getting me what I wanted as far as a good cut. He seems to take really great pride in his work. He offered suggestions on product when I asked but wasnt overly pushy on selling me anything additional which I appreciated. I will be back to see Jake again in 4-6 weeks and would highly recommend him.

I’ve been going to Men’s Spa for several years now; they provide the best service in the Metro. Megan is amazing and always has the best suggestions for style and cuts. I’ve also been extremely impressed with their COVID protocols, adding shields between each station and taking the utmost sanitizing precautions. Amazing!

Ive been getting my hair cut here for a few years. Ive bounced around from stylist to stylist depending on availability but Ive always had an awesome cut. Theyre super cool people and really make sure they understand what youre going for. Im not super confident when it comes to describing what I want and their expertise and patience is super accommodating. Ive always left feeling like a BALLER. I can personally recommend Jake and Katt. Something tells me that everyone will take good care of you though. They offer additional services if thats what youre in to, though Im usually speeding through so I havent had the opportunity to take advantage of that. Theyre worth every penny-- I really cant recommend them highly enough.

What a great experience. This is the second time Ive been to MENS SPA under the new ownership. Im a big fan. The cut by Jaeger was one of the best Ive had. He gave me some great tips on how to keep it looking great and did an overall wonderful job. They mention free coffee on the website, but I guess they were also experimenting with a juicer when I was there, so I got a huge glass of some kale, carrot concoction that was actually quite refreshing. I came with one of their daily deals, but the regular price is quite reasonable for a full-service cut. Ill probably take advantage of the lower-priced trim service to keep things from getting out of hand between full cuts. Overall, Im a huge fan.

Simply put, this is hands down the best place for a guy to get his hair cut. Ever since the new ownership took over earlier this year, this place has completely turned around. From Brad the owner on down, the entire team at Mens Spa delivers a high-end experience at a very affordable price (which is great for a frugal guy like me).I call it an experience, because when you come to Mens Spa you dont just get a haircut. Oh no, when you walk in the door, you are greeted by multiple people who are sincerely glad you are there, you are offered something to drink, you are provided a shirt to wear so that you dont get hair all over your own shirt...and thats before you even start the hair cutting process. (The attention to detail is fantastic!)Then, instead of the stylist just asking you what you want them to do (as if you are an expert in hair styling), they spend time getting to know you, learning more about what you do and the style you are going for, and then they actually talk through ideas for how to make your hair look good, both when you walk out the door that day and (more importantly) how to keep it looking good consistently until the next time you come in. Somehow they find a way to cut my hair so that it keeps looking good even as it is getting longer. With the places Ive gone to in the past, even if they made it look good that day, after a week or so, it was nowhere near as good and would look worse as it grew out. This has not been the case for me with Mens Spa.In addition to a great haircut and tips on how to keep it looking good, my experience at Mens Spa has included cleaning up my eyebrow hair (which my wife immediately noticed and loved), trimming my nose hair, shaving my neck hair, shampoo and conditioning, scalp massage, and a mini-facial (which I had never had before, but have discovered that I like).Top that all off with a great atmosphere and a great staff that is fun to hang out with, and you have the best mens haircut experience you will find anywhere!

I got a massage from Cailee and it was the best massage I’ve EVER had! She took so much care and attention to detail. I really felt like she listened to me when we spoke before the massage, and went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. The COVID protocols in place were also great and made me feel really safe

In the past, I never viewed a haircut as a pampering experience, but this place sets the bar high for what a service should look and feel like. The atmosphere was welcoming and all of the staff were friendly. During the haircut, they ask open-ended questions to get to know you and the conversations are always pleasant. The hot towel and scalp massage were also a major plus. The only negative is the parking, but what do you expect in downtown Minneapolis?

I went in for a haircut today, but it was not a good experience. Rob, the stylist, was hard to talk to and did not listen to what I wanted with my hair or beard. He went ahead with what he wanted (a shorter clipper cut and not rounding off my neck line) and charged me $18 for a beard trim (just trimming my beard with dull and painful clippers). Honestly, it felt low effort and rushed.It seems like a lot of reviews speak positively of the salon, so hopefully this was just a fluke.

Definitely my favorite salon in Minneapolis. The employees are always very helpful and assist you with anything and everything. The stylists are fun energetic people with an eye for hair. Everytime Ive had a hair cut here Ive left with result that exceeded my expectations. 10/10 would reccomend.

I got two great hair cuts and Mens Spa and then, from a different barber, a mediocre one. The ambiance is great, the guys working there are friendly, the location is good (with free parking behind the shop), and I would have given this business five stars before getting a haircut I wasnt thrilled with on my third visit. I will be going back, no question.

Have been doing my hair at the place for over a year now. The transition from the previous owner to the current one was smoother than I expected and the new staff managed to keep the save level of service quality. The place itself is definitely enjoyable for a minimalist and they usually run special offers for new customers. Worth trying if youre looking.

These guys are great! I have been going to the MENS SPA since it first opened and on an every other week rotation for haircuts. The staff is very professional and the service is exceptional. They take a standard haircut and make an experience out of it. If you have not tried them, I strongly suggest you do.

I sat down in the chair and the barber said something like here is what I want to do. He didnt ask me what I was thinking or what I wanted. He then went on to vaguely describe something that didnt sound too drastically different than what I wanted so I hesitantly agreed. 45 minutes later (and without knowing it because they keep you facing away from the mirror) my hair is cut and styled in a way that is 100% not me and not what he initially described. Guess I shouldnt be surprised since he took zero seconds to ask or listen to what I wanted. Everyone is going to love it, he says. Well my girlfriend thinks it looks stupid. Im debating going to a different place tomorrow morning before work to see if it can be salvaged. First haircut in my life I dont like. At least its just hair and will grow back. Maybe if you are interested in a whole new look this would be a good place to go. Otherwise, I highly discourage anyone from going. Also, the website says cuts are preceded by a mini-facial, a stress-relieving scalp massage and a hot towel treatment but dont expect any of those services.

In its entirety, I had one of the best experiences getting my haircut at the Mens Spa. Not only were the staff very professional and well-mannered, but they also did an excellent job staying engaged with me and listening to my specific requests. To add, the location on Washington Ave is easy to get to and is surrounded by local restaurants and shops.

Ive been about 5 times. Fantastic stylists and grooming service. Friendly and a casualatmosphere with conversation flowing. Free facials come with your haircut. I always look forward to a visit. Pedicures are rumored for 2014.Oh, and you dont have to have a full head of hair for them to work wonders!Jaeger styles what hair I have left and Angela does the grooming. I would highly recommend Mens Spa to everyone. I cant wait for my next appointment.

Ive had both Jaeger and Damien cut my hair. I was very impressed both times--Ive since bought multiple haircuts in advance. I would recommend doing a little research into what you want your hair to look like. Think about bringing a few pictures (save them on your phone) if you are like me and cant describe what you want with words. Their products are all natural/organic and made in-house, which Id also recommend.

My son wanted to get his hair cut and highlighted for his birthday and he wanted to try this establishment for his birthday. They did a great job on everything and he was super happy with it and I was also super happy that he really liked it as well. But my main issue was their prices...I felt they were just too much...

Went for waxing, worst service ever. Never had such bad experience. Esthetician doesnt know what he is talking about. He kept changing stuff to make him look right. He was in rush from the beginning and didnt answer my questions correctly. He even doesnt know what product he is using. After couple of days I can see scars all over my skin, went for follow up and he mentioned its dead skin. Seriously ? not sure if its the wax quality or the wax was too hot. I am not going here again. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Jake is one of the best overall hair stylists. Not only for hair cuts, but wonderful conversationalist. My teen son loves this place. Been coming here for about 6 years.

I have received only 2 haircuts at the Men’s Spa and each time was done in great detail. The stylist listened to my needs and I will continue going to this salon to get my haircut. Eventually, I will be trying some of the other services they offer. I fully recommend this establishment!

Mens Spa is not only a stylish and luxurious (not to mention manly) downtown salon experience, it is also the best haircut I have ever had! The staff are all great at what they do and fun to be around. And you cant beat the ambiance!

The quality of haircut I get here is amazing. I keep coming back because of it......However, I think I had my last cut here. The price for a mens haircut is just way out of the ball park. I thought it was wildly high pre-covid, but now with no wash, blow dry, face massage, they have went down in services and it is still as expensive as ever. I understand the new standards due to COVID-19 are nothing Mens Spa can control, but like I said, I had a hard time justifying the price before, and I swear they raised the price recently while the services have went down.One last thing, because it is something I find important. The customer service here is the worst. It is the epitome of hipster service. Just pure laziness and doing things when they want to and the bare minimum. I will make a hair appointment and I would say 3 out of 4 times I wait anywhere from 10 to one time 35 minutes. This last time, I waited 15 minutes. Now once again, due to COVID-19 which is out of their hands, I got there 5 minutes early, called the desk, they said someone will be there to grab you in a second....... I waited there in the hot humid sun until 13 minutes after my appointment time. No warning of, hey your barber is running late, we will come get you in a about 10 minutes.... just yup, someone will come in a second. So I am standing at the door sweating my shirt through, looking like a moron. My guy must have just taken a break, I could see he wasnt cutting anyones hair, no one came in or out while I was looking like the Mens Spa bouncer standing outside the door with no purpose. It is a rare occurrence, when my barber is ready on time.I do love my haircuts here, but I have just had too much of slow, lackluster, lazy, carefree service and I am sick of paying top dollar for it.

Megan with Mens Spa is one of the nicest, kindest, and most fun people that I have ever met. Every time I get my haircut we laugh, cry, and have the best time. I leave every appointment overjoyed with the experience and I am never upset with the results of the cut. Both Megan and Mens Spa are 5/5.

Mens Spa was a great haircut experience unlike any Ive had before. I went there for the first time because I had a Groupon. It was a long drive for me, but I was intrigued. I have returned several times since then due to the excellent service I receive there.One of the more notable unique aspects of the salon is its interior design. It is clean, simple and stylish. Its the kind of place I wouldnt mind hanging out with a few friends if they had a bar.Even better than the decor was the haircut I received. I have been told by several people that I have a difficult head to cut (its lumpy and my hair grows in all sorts of directions). But Mens Spa is only salon Ive visited where both my wife and I are completely satisfied with my haircut every time.The staff was also cordial and friendly, and happy to answer all my questions I had about the business.If youre a man that lives near this salon, you this is where you should be getting your haircut. Even if you dont live near it, you should still go check it out; the drive is worth the experience!

When I found out that Laney worked at Mens Spa, I knew I had to schedule an appointment. Laney makes any haircut modern and sleek. I get more compliments on my hair then I do on my outfit!!! Anyone who is having doubts about Mens Spa, just make sure you get Laney.

Ive had nothing but positive experiences here. Everyone is friendly and nice. They offer water, espresso, and even one day had fresh fruit smoothies! The decor of the interior is refreshing. They give a nice scalp massage and hot towel before the cut. I will keep going back thats for sure.

Been going to Damian to get my hair cut for a few years now. Great place to go, they always have solid music playing and a good vibe generally. Hot towel treatment, straight razor on the neck. Treat yourself.

The best haircuts I have ever gotten are the ones Ive gotten here. This isnt a place for a 15 minute haircut, they really take their time with the details which is why you get such a great haircut. They also make the experience a relaxing one (massage, hot towel and their delicious beverages). Getting a haircut is not just a thing you have to do here, its a thing you look forward to. Why go anywhere else?

My experience at Mens Spa has been the best thus far. The staff was friendly and engaged. The decor is sleek and masculine, so you dont feel like youre there to get a perm next to Betty-Sue (whoever that may be). One thing that I liked was the more intimate setting, there were only a few chairs on both sides with a few stylists on both sides...making it seem less crowded and more like you and just a few others sort of hanging out. The price points seem to be about average. Getting a complimentary cappuccino was definitely a plus! My stylist was Jaeger and he was very helpful and just overall a cool dude. To sum it up, great experience all around.

Terrible service here. I came in with pictures and a description of what I wanted ... the barber did not deliver anything of what I asked for. Never stopped to ask more questions. Begun my haircut and then proceeded to mess around and talk with another employee during the whole duration of my haircut. When he asked me after if I liked it, as politely as possible I responded “it was alright”, to get an aggressive return of “well that is exactly what you asked for” instead of asking how if at all it could be fixed. Mid way through the cut I got the (not very encouraging) remark of “man its really hard to work in this lighting over here” of what I could imagine is him realizing he was not delivering what I had asked and had messed up. Just very unprofessional and probably the worst haircut I have gotten unfortunately. I would not recommend going here.

Ive gone to many places to get a haircut near the Twin Cities and this is hands down the best place to get a haircut perfectly done. Great attention to detail, very punctual, great suggestions, very professional, very clean especially in COVID-19 times, and great people that care. Definitely THE place to go for your haircut.

My spouse and I have gotten pedicures here twice now (thanks, Groupon!) and we had such a great experience both times. The staff members are friendly and hospitable and the salon is clean! Enjoyable all around.

Not a great experience. Had a pedicure. Polish wasnt dry and smeared. Came back to have polish redone. Waited 1/2 hour for polish to dry. Smeared again. ( spa had no drying lights) Nails were filed unevenly and had small cut on toe when finished. Staff was cordial but cant recommend.

I ONLY get my haircut here. Katt is amazing and always knows what I want. I have yet to walk out in disappointment and I can assure you that won’t happen. It’s very clean and everyone is always so nice! Great pricing too.

Just had my first visit with Katt since February. Mens Spa has done incredible work preparing to operate in this new normal due to the onset of the pandemic. Each station is separated by plexiglass partitions, there is no waiting inside, theyve installed vacuums at each station, and have a rigorous sanitation regimen at the start of the day and after each customer. Theyve even spaced their appointments to give the stylists and support staff more time after each session to clean and sterilize for their next patron. If you go in the short term, they are asking you to wait outside, call the salon, and check in, and then your stylist will come to the door to escort you inside. There are hand sanitation stations at each entrance for your use. And with all this, Katt still gave the same extraordinary service and attention to detail she always has. For all of these reasons, Mens Spa will have my business for some time to come. Thank you all for what youve done!Have been coming to the Mens Spa to see Kat for a haircut bi weekly for over two years. She is incredible. Patient. Takes her time. She wants to get it right for her customers and does so every time. The atmosphere is calm with great music. The staff are always offering a shirt to change into, water or coffee to drink, and a right spectacular Tom and Jerry at the holidays. Kat and the Mens Spa will always have my business. Keep it up!

I went to Mens Spa Salon in Minneapolis for my very first manicure/pedicure and it was delightful. Stephanie was attentive, thorough and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend it.

I went in without any idea of what I wanted, only that I would trust an expert to give me the best cut for my changing (read: thinning) hair. My stylist was professional and responsive to my needs, and I was very pleased with the results.

I asked the barber to just slightly trim the top with a a taper on the sides. I even showed him 2 pictures of my previous haircuts. He proceeded to takes way too much off the top and didn’t really fade the sides. Not at all like the pictures I showed him. I asked for a beard trim which was subpar as he just used a machine and not the razor because he said my skin would become irritated. Needless to say, I didn’t leave looking fresh. He was very friendly and a nice guy so I’ll give a 2/5. The next week, I went to my usual barber (I’m from out of state) and had it salvaged.It was a good learning experience for me. In the future when seeing a new barber, I will not simply show the picture. Instead, I will make sure to verbally point out the main takeaways from those pictures. Not everyone is a visual learner, and simply explaining haircuts 100% verbally is somewhat difficult. A combination of showing a photo and verbally explaining the photo is the best approach.

Never had a cleaner haircut - arguably best mens hair shop in MPLS! Management must develop people well because everyone who works there nails it every time. I personally ask for Rob - theres nothing like knowing where to go to look as sharp as possible whenever you need to. 5 stars.

Nice, friendly staff with an accessible location. The staff knew which haircut I wanted after going to them once and they always did it perfectly. It is done at a nice relaxed pace so that you do not feel like you are being rushed out of the place either. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this place to friends and acquaintances.

Ive been here a handful of times now and every time I have gotten a great cut. Service is great, quality of product etc are always top notch and will definitely go back again.Not a complaint but the number of free parking spots in back in limited. Meters out front you will have to plug. But that is the price you pay when having a shop downtown (or anywhere else really) where parking is limited.

Mens Spa always does a fantastic job of cutting my hair. I get compliments for weeks afterwards on how I look! The complimentary t-shirt, cappuccino and face-massage you wont find anywhere else, not to mention their impeccable service! We were very excited about this salon but unfortunately they didn’t live up to the standard. The service we received felt rushed and not throughly done. I was unable to receive polish on my fingers & the polish on my toes only lasted a day or two. Wish we had a better experience overall.

I love how you can book online or call. They offer parking but even when it’s full the street parking is accessible. When I got there they offered me a drink and a T-shirt to change into. I work with Jaeger. From the beginning I explained what I wanted and he not only attempted to get me to the look but offered some insights. From booking to the final look - you won’t regret!

Before booking a massage, I would highly recommend not scheduling one with Jorge. My experience wasnt a pleasant one. He arrived 15 minutes late and rushed through the massage. Jorge didnt create a welcoming experience as he came across as irritable and distracted. Ive heard good things about Mens Spa and was disappointed with what I actually just experienced.

Mens Spa is the cats ass. I love the hot towel treatment, the photos of Tom Waits and those other dudes, and the super-clean cut I used to get there. Sadly, I moved from Minneapolis and havent had such a great cut since. If I were you, and I were in the Twin Cities, I would give them a shot!

Anyway, it is a welcoming environment and the staff is courteous . The haircut is a great VALUE for the dollar and the service is top notch. Ive been to two separate stylists (Chris and Jagger) and was satisfied with the service every time. Never have I felt like it was a rushed job. The stylists were able to take my vague and unclear description of what I wanted done and translate it into a spot on accurate haircut. Good intuition on their part. Parking has never been a problem. Even though it says Mens spa Ive seen few women in there. I like their in house organic hair products, too. Side note - The owner trained under the founder of Aveda (Horst Rechelbacher).

I had just moved to the cities and decided to try out the Mens Spa after a recommendation from a friend who raved about the haircuts he received from the owner (his hair *does* look really good).I ended up with two different stylists for the three haircuts that I got there over the period of two months and they were very friendly and were up-to-date on the current trends. I didnt pay as much as my friend because the stylists were newer (and werent the owner).That being said, the process took well over an hour (including a warm wrap for your face, etc.). That sort of time committment isnt for me, however I shouldve known by the word SPA in the name that it would be a relaxing, slower, process. :)I received my third haircut right before a wedding so I would look my best, however several friends commented on how I needed to get my hair touched-up due to the lack of fading and visible layer differences from the razor. The stylist for the wedding party actually had some free time and offered to clean my haircut up. It could have been that the sylist at the spa was just new/tired/low lighting, etc.Since then Ive started going to a barber in Uptown and have had great luck with them (with much less amenities, though). So if youre looking for a stylish, relaxing place to unwind then Mens Spa is probably a good fit for you. Theyre trendy and seem to take good care of their customers.

Jaeger has been cutting my hair for a few years now, and Ive never really had a bad hair day since. With Mens Spa, I always feel welcomed because of all the familiar faces and attention to detail. Jaeger knows my hair and what I like, and he helps me experiment and tweak my haircuts, adapting to my sense of style. As someone who grew up going to Great Clips, I was weary at paying so much more for a haircut, but Mens Spa offers a lot to make it worth it (mini-facials, coffee--Ive even had a free massage).

Asked for a small trim from the top and not to go too high up on the sides. My barber didnt listen to a single word I said and instead received what he thought I needed. Came out looking like I had just gone to boot camp with a high bald not even faded side and took way too much from the top leaving me looking like an army general. I highly, I repeat highly DO NOT recommend this place. Would give it a zero if I could.
