One of, if not my favorite place to go out in Minneapolis. I go here often and I’ve never had a bad time. The security and bar staff are great; it seems like they care about the safety of clients and they foster a safe environment. The clientele are fun and people like to actually dance here and not just sit around. A great place to be!
We ate lunch here - but it looked like a very fun place to come to for dancing. The service was attentive and the server fun to talk with. Of the dishes we had, the shrimp in garlic sauce I tried to eat had a shrimp that smelled off, so that was the end of that dish for me. Julie had a couple and said they were okay. The plantaines with beef were good. Of the 3 empanadas, we enjoyed the beef. The star was the mango margarita - yum yum yum.
The food is just ok, and the prices in the food are competitive with the most regular restaurants in the zone; the drinks are overprice ( around 2 to 3 times the regular price in other restaurants). Is the only place in Minneapolis to dance “Latin” music; however, the music is mostly Reggaeton, Mexican cumbias and Disco trance, sometimes you have Bachata and other times some Salsa and merengue. After 10 pm you can park for free in the street, otherwise you have to paid in the street parking. The place gets completely full after 11:00 pm; you can’t dance anymore, just move with the people. You have to paid cover, just cash, after 10:00 pm, 20 dollars per person just to enter or $30 included 3 “free” drinks.
Great music, a friend introduced me to this place and taught me how to salsa. Great atmosphere too and a nice bar. Laid back all around and everyone was friendly.
Called ahead of time to make sure we were aware of cover charges. Showed up, the woman at the front was extremely rude. We had no interest in staying and left immediately. Would not recommend.
Food was great, service time was ok. Went when there wasn’t really a whole lot of people eating and the food took a quite a bit of time. We ordered empanadas, two margaritas and pork mofongo. The mofongo was amazing! We aren’t Puerto Rican or Latin cuisine experts but i would say it tasted similar to what we’ve had in Puerto Rico. Drinks were a bit pricey. About the same as my meal.
Johnson Family Quest to Visit All Restaurants on Central Ave Restaurant #1. We liked our dishes. Learned about and enjoyed mofongo. Not really an early dinner spot as we were one party out of two at 5:30pm.
We paid 51 dollars for this meal. The Ceasar salad was half full and brown, the dressing was congealed. The Spanish rice had no flavor, frozen veggies and no chicken in it. The fish was super dry. I know its covid but Conga do better. And they are still using Styrofoam. MINNEAPOLIS HAS An ORDINANCE. I WOULD LIKE TO TRY YOUR RESTAURANT AGAIN I GET PEOPLE HAVE BAD DAYS. BUT IF YOU NEED A SPANISH RICE RECIPE LET ME KNOW.
Take care of your belongings when you are inside, there are always those who want to take advantage of drunks!
On my birthday, we had the unfortunate encounter with a host who displayed an astonishing level of rudeness. When my sister simply asked about the dessert of the day, she not only hung up on her once but twice. Such behavior is completely uncalled for and reflects poorly on the establishments commitment to customer service.Seeking resolution, I decided to call and speak to the manager. However, I was met with even more disappointment. The managers response was unapologetic and showed absolutely no concern for the despicable customer service we had experienced. It is disheartening when management fails to take responsibility for the actions of their staff and does not prioritize customer satisfaction. To make matters worse, the manager claimed that they dont have a dessert of the day, despite it being clearly listed on their menu and having been ordered by us on a previous occasion. This contradiction raises serious doubts about the establishments honesty and integrity. As a customer who had high expectations for a memorable birthday celebration, I am deeply disappointed by the experience we had at Conga Latin Bistro. The hosts rude behavior, coupled with the managers unapologetic response, has left a lasting negative impression. It is truly disheartening when a special occasion is marred by such unprofessionalism and a lack of regard for customer satisfaction. In conclusion, our experience at Conga Latin Bistro on my birthday was nothing short of a letdown. The hosts rude behavior, the managers despicable customer service, and the contradictory information regarding the dessert of the day have left us with a negative perception of the establishment.
CLB, had a great vibe, wasnt too busy, nice huge dance floor and the staff was very engaging and wonderful. Good was delish!!! I had the Dominican fries chicken with rice and black beans. A place well worth checking out.
Awful quality. The empanadas taste nasty (reused vegetable oil)Food is often not seasoned correctly(Salty or no flavor)Cuban sandwich NOT a Cuban Sandwich but a pork grilled cheese(The waitress actually told me I had to pay for it even though it was not done correctly)Horrible leadership, mistreatment of loyal customers, and staffWELL I’m SORRY to say that for the last 2 months Conga has changed completely!
Staff needs to improve their customer service. I understand they need to follow proper protocols but that does not mean they need to be rude to customers who are just trying to have a good time. It honestly ruins someone mood when they go in and the people taking the money and giving bracelets to enter are rude. Plus the security at the entrance needs better training, completely unprofessional.
We went last minute to go dance, they don’t take credit cards, turned us away, the staff was very rude. Atmosphere is pretty ghetto. When we dug up a few $5’s to enter, the girl in the front said “no mames, I’m not counting this” and wouldn’t let us enter unless we had $20’s. Any establishment that takes only cash is pretty ghetto. If you want a classy Latin night club this is not it.
If you want to have some Mojitos and pretend you’re in the Caribbean sitting on a beach with not a care in the world this is the place to go. You can try the Puerto Rican stable food which is, “Mofongo”. Also you can listen to the, “King of Bachata” Romeo Santos along with other Latin American music!
If you are trying to have a good time. This is not the place. At the entrance the guy questioned me if I was a “man or a woman”, I was just speechless that the s staff at this place are not even respectful of diversity. That questioned screamed ignorance. I hope they can do better. The bartender also was so rude. It seemed like she did not want to be working.Don’t come here if you want to have a good time. They don’t appreciate your business and will treat you like if you are begging them.
Brought out of town guests. We have not been here in about 10 years but thought it would be a fun change of pace. There was only 1 other couple there at 6:00ish time. Our server promptly came to the table for drink order before we really had a chance to settle in. One of our party asked for water, she returned with only 1 glass instead of 4. As we needed time to look over the menu, the server left quickly.Upon her return, we placed orders, (one requested item was unavailable), and asked for 3 additional waters. Order was placed at about 6:15.Server never returned to ask if we needed anything else, take drink order, or explain delay....food was brought to the table about 7:30-7:40. Very curious as still were the only party in the entire place. At about 8:00, music was turned up considerably, and several couples & parties started arriving to dance.Even paying server took a long while, about 15-30 min.I hope this was just an off night...but some explanation would have been appreciated.
This place is awful. Visiting Minnesota we went on a Sunday night and the place was almost empty, but they still charged us $20 each person to get in and cash only. The woman at the counter collecting the money was rude and the few people in there were acting kind of getto. I was actually told this place used to be a really good Latin-American spot in Minneapolis but now its nothing like it was a few years ago.
They usually provide drink tickets with the entrance fee. However one needs to be very clear to staff that you would like to use them. Otherwise they might bill you for more drinks.
The place is great but their security cussed me out for waiting 5 minutes for a ride home inside at a empty table near the door, this area had other people doing the same thing and they had no problems, i tried to mention that my uncle got shot to death in minneapolis for wrong place wrong time, and that i didnt feel safe waiting outside at 11:50pm while holding items worth over 900 usd, they said they couldnt give a damn and started making fighting gestures, i advertise for the minneapolis gay parties group and im gonna be sure to bring this incident up with the group host and we will see what happens, i will not be returning
It was very hot when I was there. The bartender upstairs was great. I didn’t know any of the songs they played. Been there before for dinner and the food was wonderful. Just was so very hot
Ive wanted to try this place for a long time. Finally did and Im disappointed. Tried a variety of dishes as I usually do when eating someplace new, however Im not new to Latin cuisine. I will not disect every dish but I will say dont waste you time eating here. This place should focus on being a club venue.
While the vibes and music were great the food was not very good. Our bartender was lovely and kept the drinks flowing, so Id go back for music and cocktails. But I will not be eating there again.
There was a damper to my overall experience on the evening of 7/27 (8:30-10pm) when the bouncer catcalled me as I was leaving, asking if I speak English. As far as service goes, our waitresss service was exceptional. Both the Jamaican chicken and sweet plantains did not disappoint. It was about $20 for both items, with the plantains at $9-10 for five 2 slices of plantains. I might call this a little overpriced - then again its hard to tell when you have enough sweet plantains!
SCAM ALERT!! This place scams people. I bought a drink and the bar tender used my credit card information to ring up 7 more drinks and tip themselves. My bank advised me to work with them but they won’t even give me my receipt for the drink that I purchased. They even asked if it was a guy so he must do it to people a lot but they won’t do anything about it. They are ignoring me and it caused damage to my credit. Seems like they won’t give me my original receipt because this is not my signature and the two receipts are comparable for that fact. I’m reviewing so you guys know what to expect. There are plenty of other bars/ restaurants that do ethical businesses.
Never been in this place before, gave it a try last night (7/10) Was surprised no other guest in the dining area except my husband and I (around 8.30pm). The owner (I assumed she is the owner) acted with no manner and rude attitude. She ruined our mood to eat. My husband like his food. Mine is ok. The appetizer price was good. But not really fond of the main entree price. The waitress that served us was nice. We might be give one more chance to try as long as the Owner could act with well manner as people that work in hospitality industry should be. Do you not know that the customers come to give you money (business)?!
Great music! The acme crew is awesome! The bar and its staff horrible, the drink prices are made up, one night I paid three different prices for the same drink?! The downstairs bar area is always dirty . On Fri 9.18.21 there was a leak above the bar, dripping a greenish liquid making a mess.
I chose this place for my birthday dinner with the family based on the menu, with just a little hesitation due to some prior bad reviews. So glad I did, the food and service were outstanding! We tried the yuca con mojo, empanadas, Jamaican chicken, beef tacos, and ropa vieja with congri. All were exceptional, we will be back!
The DJ did a good job with the music selection the crowd was small on a Wednesday night so not too packed. Great if you dance salsa bachata or merengue. The wait later in the night for food/drinks was quite long and the food was okay considering the wait. Overall, I would say the food was affordable but you get what you pay for. I would go for dancing and drinks good place to turn up.
My girlfriend and I have been here a couple times now and the food is pretty good. The main reason this placed appealed to us was the great happy hour which used to be 241s and half off apps. This has since changed and now its $2 off apps and 241 select drinks, which is still decent. But when the sign outside says 241 drinks and you are charged $36 for 4 basic margaritas, that borders on deception. The bartender was nice to fix it for us, even though our presence seemed to annoy him. But we will likely not be back.
I ate there last night 2/27/2018. First the waitress made us wait and i had to go find her. (There was only 3 tables being used) She was conversing with the bartender. Ordered steak and shrimp dinners. One medium rare and the other well done. Both steaks were medium well. We tried to tell the waitress but she disappeared again, so we dealt with it. Not once did the waitress stop by and ask us how was the food? is everything satisfactory? do you need anything else? Every time we needed something we had to go find her. The food was mediocre considering it wasnt how we wanted it. We had a coupon which had a survey on back. We filled out the survey and can you believe the waitress had the audacity to question us about our answers. We explained to her that she gave us very bad service and we wouldnt tip her much. she deserved nothing but we gave her something anyway. she told us i dont care, i dont need it. Very rude. We liked the place the first time we went, but this waitress ruined our second experience. She probably told the chef medium well for both. SO RUDE.................QUESTION.......Why is there only responses from the owner when its a good review. The owner should be responding to the bad reviews also. We all are potential loyal customers and we can all be be detractors. Or maybe you dont care?
Went there on a Tuesday night. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, the server was outstanding and kept checking on us since we did not order any kind of appetizers. Would definitely go back. You could taste the authenticity of the Caribbean food there. Wish I lived closer. Brought me back to my home country
Great food. Dont go later on a weekend night when theyre transitioning to a dance club. The last time we were there to eat, we were ignored most of the time. I give them 4 stars based on prior great experiences.
My wife and I both love dancing and Latin music. We arrived at the Conga Latin Bistro and was greeted by Ricardo and his wife. We asked to be seated near the dance floor and there was a family birthday party being held. The other dining room would have been quieter, but we enjoyed the party and the family atmosphere. We ordered drinks and then ordered Valencia Paella. Ricardo said it would take 90 minutes to prepare. We were not in a hurry and got up and danced. Ricardo and his staff checked on us numerous times and let us know when our dinner would be ready. He even came out with complimentary salads for us that were very good. When the food arrived, the presentation was fantastic and was worth the wait. I have had Paella in various Countries and I make it myself. The blend of shrimp, fish, chicken, sausage, mussels, clams, calamari and vegetables was perfect. If your in a hurry dont go, but if you love great food and friendly warm service, I highly recommend it. The price was very reasonable and well worth it.
Amazing delicious food and great portions. My sister in law bought a Groupon here for my brothers birthday. We were really worried about the reviews however we went with it and man it was a great experience. Parking was tough however thats for any restaurant in that area. Server was nice and helpful. Food was delicious and man the portions were HUGE!We will definitely be back.
This place is just for latin dance lovers. Food are not good. We tried calamary, taco. These are not bad. Actually problem is about paying. We give 3 credit card. We said you divide our bill. They can t do that equally. In addition they took extra money our card. İts not about our orders and they not give about this receipt. We checked our credit card extre, noticed this. I think you want to go this place you need cash. Dont use credit card.
They opened up special, with little notice, for a wedding reception a few weeks back on a day they many times wont open. The food was excellent, had a skirt steak. Staff was very friendly. I did some horrible dancing that seemed to entertain some. Was a fun night. Thanks
Don’t waste your time and money going to this place. Their food and service is the worse, rude staff and unprofessional. I bough drinks 2 different times and for 2 completely diferente charges. 1st time, cranberry vodka, 6 dollars, per drink, second time same drink different staff, she said 8 dollars ? In the past for the same drinks $19 dollars for 2 exact drink same drink?I wanted to talk to the manager but no one available. Never again very disappointed and irritated. I have been to this restaurant before and when the shrimp cold I mentioned to the bar person and he said” what do you want me to do about it “ omg I was like wow
Very fun place to dance to some great Latin music on a Friday or Saturday night! Big dance floor, fun atmosphere and lots of people dancing and having fun. The drinks were a bit expensive, but overall it was well worth it to come here!
For a birthday dinner, eight adults and three teenagers went at 6:30 pm on a Friday night. It was nearly 40 minutes after being seated that I received my drink and sometime after that our main order was taken. The restaurant was nearly empty during this time. We received our food an hour and a half after we arrived. We were ready to ask for the bill for what wed already been provided (three appetizers an hour earlier and two rounds of drinks) and to leave, as the mains were brought out. I honestly cant remember a service taking so long, especially as the restaurant was not crowded. The food was fine, but I dont think Ill be back.
Service deserves negative 5 stars. Based on the second attempt at looking to sit down and order food. About 9:05 pm my date and I stop at the Conga to sit and get a bite to eat. They said the dining area was close but we could go into the bar to order food. As we start to go to the bar, to sit and order food the host stopped us and requested $10 for each of us for cover. We were there only for the restaurant food, not for the DJ who wasn’t even there yet. So I asked if we can just get the order to go, they gave us the restaurant menu, took our order and literally had my date and I standing at the entrance for about :10-:15 minutes, waiting for the food that wasn’t cooked completely and was still cold, as we attempted to it immediately in the car. They didn’t even offer to let us sit and wait in the empty restaurant seating area. So we went out to the breezeway of the entrance to sit and wait, which makes no sense that we had to do that. The host staff was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. This is the second time I have come here for only food, from my understanding this is a restaurant. The first attempt coming here for the restaurant, it was a little later and that time we were patted down by security and asked again for a cover charge to order food. The male security that time attempt to pat my female friends which seemed very inappropriate so we had left. I rarely like to leave negative reviews, but this is the second chance I have given this establishment both times with negative expectations.
This place is flipping awesome. The food is authentic and well seasoned. My wife and I fell in love with this place two years ago. We have tried almost everything on the menu. As foodies this has been one of our top food places in MPLS. Also - On Friday nights you will enjoy traditional South American music with amazing mojito’s.
I dont know about the food but when it turns into a club at nigh, thats when I show up. Can get really packed and drinks take a while. Otherwise a fun night dancing can be had.
Food is delicious!! I have tried the cheese and chicken empanadas, mango avocado salad, sweet plantains and queso and not the Jamaican chicken! All were very delicious!
Service was excellent 👍🏾 and the food was good also. We had a party on 12 for my wifes birthday and the server was awesome 😎
Rude lady answered the phone . I asked what type of music she said all kinds . Never specify . Twice and hung up. rude that’s not how you treat potentialCustomers
The food was delicious and the service was excellent..my favorite dishes are Broiled Salmon and Chorasco Argentina. I really recommend this place for Latin food. Also, they have nice Latin music for dancing every weekend..Fri -Sun nights.
One of my favorite food places. Definitely a fan of the mofongo. The customer service is great, but I will say sometimes the waiters take a long time to check in on the customers. I didn’t mind but I was waiting for the check about 30 minutes after finishing my meal. But regardless I enjoy and recommend the food!!
Slowest service at the bar I have ever experienced, was ignored for 10 min before i had to flag down the bartender, watch other people waving frantically. Not even busy. Asked for a menu and no one ever came back to take my order. Left irritated, had to pay a 10$ cover. BS. There was a plate of wings sitting at the bar for 10 min that no one took out to the table that ordered it, and i watched the bartender take these old cold wings over to the table, gross!
Had reservations for 830 tonight, we were sitting on the restaurant side not busy at all. 15 minutes go by and servers are just walking past us since their register is right behind our booth. How rude, we really wanted their food too, as we really have no other choice for this in MN. But Ill probably ever go back, they just left us sitting there on our vday date. Not to mention we asked the hostest 2 times for a server. Terrible staff!!! What a joke. No one even noticed us leave, is why Im writing this review in the parking lot.
I never been there before and I was pleasantly surprised. The people were very friendly and down to earth and the atmosphere was exhilarating. The food was fresh and tasty and I will definitely be back!
We went on a Monday night and were the only customers there. The food was very tasty and service was good. We had the avocado mango salad, broiled salmon, chicken rice soup and shredded beef. It was all good and had large portions.
Very frequently broken glass in the bike lane. If you guys are allowing patrons to smoke cigs drunk with a bottle in their hands, smash glass, drop bottles etc then that’s cool, but at least sweep up. If you guys just say “ok!” I’ll turn this into a 5 star review
I thought this was a great place, but if youre not buying alcohol after 10pm, you dint matter
First time there. My gash it was full alot of people 30 dlls to go in but with 3 or 4 drinks already paid. Not bad. I liked the music. Nice vibe
Because we waited much more than an hour to receive our food, with few other tables of people around us, we were extremely disappointed and ready to leave. The food, once it arrived, was absolutely delicious. However, out of our four entrees, one was room temperature and drowning in sauce and one was a delicious, but tiny, salad. Pretty underwhelming.
This my spot. I highly recommend Saturdays because its busiest and they play reggaeton on saturdays.Come early line gets big sometimes. You have to have i.d no exceptions. Theres a bag check at door.they do pack the club past capacity thats a down fall. What if a fire breaks out. Everyone dies. Not Good. Keep a good eye on your credit card and make sure you get it back because this is the second time that I went there and my credit card came up missing. 1st time was the bar 2nd time my card came up missing from coat check.
The tall African security guy was very disrespectful, just because was my first time going and he had a nasty Brazilian attempt of woman that seems to be a a regular that cut in line trying to get her jacket in-front of me this security guy throw me out.Plus they throw a guy very disrespectfully , they could had hurt him badly and they didn’t care , there is a fine line between doing their job and abusing their job, seriously this place needs a clean up.If a could I will give them a -5 stars
Terrible experience. We sat at the bar, and it took us 45 minutes to even get spoken to by the bartender, another 30 for our drinks. Asked for a food menu 4 times before we got one, then the food took about an hour to come out. When we asked for a specialty drink that they have listed on their menu, they had no idea how to make it. They made my bf pay 10 dollars to re enter the bar after being there for 3 hours and spending a lot of money already, just for going out for a cigarette. Security was rude and about half an hour late in the first place. I will not be going back here.
The food is alright. The menu is kinda small, there wasnt a huge selection. I want incredibly blown away. It was acceptable. The waitress want service was good, and the margarita I had wasnt terrible.
Food was very good, good levels of spice. Service was friendly. Overall, good and not great for just a casual dining experience. I have not experienced any of their more exciting event nights though.
Most people speak Spanish here and I cant lip read them yet. Very loud. Drinks are not watered down and 3 drinks and admission is $35. Not bad.
Drinks and music were AWESOME, Salsa dancing all night. I had a blast!!
The food is authentic, so if you are looking for Tex-Mex, look elsewhere. I would suggest a chicken/bean/rice dish or a seafood dish. I have to say though, that the restaurant experience feels like a distant second to this places life as a nightclub. Theres more that could be offered and it would be great.
Awesome awesome awesome food! I had a hankering for a pina colada so we stopped in for happy hour. 2 for 1 pina coladas! Booya. The ceviche was so refreshing and surprisingly filling, the picture on the menu looks like its a smaller portion but its huge. Super spicy habanero wings, just like we like em. There was a bit of confusion over happy hour, we were given a happy hour food menu, then told when paying the bill that happy hour food wasnt on Sundays (as it says it is on the menu). They fixed the bill for us and we left happy. Our server was awesome, Mikaela I believe, she went above and beyond to make a great experience for us. She suggested a special creamy/fruity drink for my daughter that chef made to order, and it was certainly a treat. I saw the reviews saying slow service and Id have to stick up for them. Service itself was not slow, but the food is made to order which takes time and was well worth it, I mean, its not fast food, people! Sit and enjoy yourself! Ill be back for sure, theres so much more on the menu that Im excited to try.
Best dance place , however the girl bartender takes forever to order your drink . She looked at me and just ignored us . I got really upset and just moved over to the guy , who took us 2 min to order our drinks vs the women that took 10 min to take our drinks. I sae mater on that the guy bartender helped out with the drinks she couldnt take.
I went to this place on a whim last night. I had an absolute blast! It is hard to find good places to go dancing on a Sunday night. The DJ played a great variety of cumbia, bachata, merengue, and reggaeton. My friends and I will definitely return.
I like all the fights I cant wAIT To come back I see you all tomorrow!.
Very good food and drinks. I came once before for dinner and the plates used to have bigger servings but still very good.
Basement dance floor doesnt have enough exit doors. When they close the bar at 2 am on Saturdays, there is just one way out. Thats dangerous in case of an emergency, people wont be able to get out quickly.
A very good place to go out dancing! Fridays and Saturdays . Only thing I dont like is the bartender they dont know how to make good drinks
Amazing place amazing food! The bar tender (forgot his name) but he has Locs and was so friendly and made great drinks!!! Will def go again!!
Had a lot of fun. The mix of music was great. Danced all night. 3 drinks included with the cover charge makes it very easy.
This place has the WORST service i have ever experienced. our group of 10 had reservations that were double-checked ahead of time and when we got there they had no idea and had to get set up for us... there was hardly anyone else in the entire place and yet the drinks took way too long to come and the food was even longer.. half an hour after we had ordered our dinner the server came out and informed my fiance that they werent able to prepare the dish he had ordered.. literally half an hour.. since we still hadnt got our food yet he decided not to order anything else to avoid being there another hour waiting.. never refilled the drinks or even asked.. 2 hours of my life ill never get back. i dont care how good the food is that was just not ok.. we will NOT be going back there..
They’ve got cachaca which you don’t always see- went on a Monday night so pretty chill but seems like a cool place to get drinks and party! Good music playing too
Service was fair, the skirt steak was like leather, literally. 3 people at out table ordered it and were unable to cut it with their steak knives. To be fair, our friend who brought us said that this was unusual, that after several visits he had never had a bad dish. He is Puerto Rican and was very happy to find a place in the cities that serves Puerto Rican food. The mofongo is great, and if I were to go back, I would stick with that and maybe some grilled chicken. All that being said, the rum punch is out of this wolrd!
I love to go dancing on weekends here. $10 cover charge, $20 for entrance plus 3 drinks. Worth it to pay the $20 up front.
Their habanero wings were the spiciest in town! Totally delicious! Their mofongo con camarones al ajillo is always on point. This place never fails with food!
They were out of all seafood related items. What we ate was very average. Mostly a late night dance bar. Not recd for dinner
BARTENDER violeta and MANAGER Rachel are HaTERZ. Violeta gonna ask me what I want to drink, only bring one drink of my 3 drink order for me and my friend, and then went and served everyone else. Finally she comes back to me and I tell her she didnt bring my entire order. She finally reaches to get me a beer and all they serve is Model and Coors Light. I shake my head that I dont want coors light and she LEAVES AGAIN! I had to get a different bartender to serve me (whom were proper and fast). When I asked to speak to the Manager, she totally did laps around me at the bar until at least one hour. When I get her attention, and begin telling her how RUDE THE BARTENDER IS, she kicks me OUT! HatiN SnaTCH Batches...... NEVER AGAIN !
This was one of the worst places I have ever been! The service was super slow... and there were only about 5 tables needing service! We decided to share several of their dishes and between the two of us couldnt choke it down. It was as if they pulled it straight from the freezer onto the grill and cooked it until it was dry... I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!
This place is amazing, the food, service and pretty much everything was excellent. Couple friends and I had a wonderful time. We for sure will stop by again.
Service was really good, ambience was nice, but the steak tacos werent my favorite. Will try again in the future because there were a few other things on the menu I would like to try.
Went there this past saturday 9/15/18. Not good at all. Lady at the entry was rude seemed to be mad about something. Ordered a drink and took over 20 mins, tasteles. A wasted of money going here
LOVE this place during the week and sundays..... but.... fridays and Saturdays its 10 to get in and is too expensive and too crowded. Spent 70 bucks on just 3 beers and a meal. The weekend crowd isnt my crowd but I do love the bartender and atmosphere during the week.
Come here Friday, Saturday or Sunday for Latin dancing. So youve been curious and dont know how to bachata, merengue, cumbia, salsa or even know where your hip bones are at? Maybe you can buy someone a drink and they will be happy to show you a few steps! People here are mostly friendly. They come to dance after working long weeks. Grab something to drink and you can even order greasy but delicious Latin food from the menu.
The food was absolutely amazing but the waitress was the worst server ever!!! Major attitude!!! I questioned a extra charge on my bill that was clearly noted, she argued about it and cursed me out!!! Caused a scene n showed no class!!!
Food is not authentic. I order the pernil it was ok. The beans did not have flavor, tasted like they just open the can and heat it up. The mofongo was dry not enough garlic, it had way too much tocino and the tocino was chewy not crunchy.
My mom did Uber Eats deliveries so I didnt get any food. I havent been there in a while.
Really good food, but two friends were drugged while there (in a group of 4 of us) and had cash stolen. Waitress brought magaritas both ordered and one friend thought funny aftertaste and later ended up with 8n j ection mark on her and bloodeork showed ecstasy in her system. Both that were drugged lost memory, one while still there and into the next day, the other lost memory after walking into her apt building. 26 reports of similar events in 1 mile radius that night...police wont take a report.
Absolutely amazing.. food was amazing.. crowd was amazing and down to earth.. fun.. music.. had my 6 yr old with and she loved it as well
Great spot for salsa dancing Wednesday nights.Eaten here a few times, the food is great. Service might be a little slower late night.
Had an amazing time dancing and drinking! The drinks were strong and the music was good! Will be back for sure
Keep your expectations low when visiting Mango Bar & Grill (formerly known as Conga Latin Bistro). The food is good, but the service is very slow. The place in general is nothing to be impressed with, they changed the name but thats all they changed, everything else is was used to be Conga.
We were seated with menus. We were forgotten. Only one other table full in the whole place and we were forgotten. We waited and waited... Won’t go back. He never came to take our order.
Good, fresh tostones, empanadas were amazing, Ropa Vieja was decent, garlic shrimp plantain appetizer was to die for, my husband liked the sweet plantains, but not so much the tacos (American style.) We just expected Mexican tacos, with corn tortillas, cilantro, onion etc..I guess we shouldve asked. They also had Mayoketchup, which is a must for me with tostones! Ill be back for my tostones fix. I would like to try the paella sometime.
They made an error and charged our visa double the amount. We have called and they still havent given the credit back. Its been over a month. The host was nice, service was slow, food was great
This was our second visit to Mango and man, the food here is just outstanding! We shared an appetizer of Yuka con mojo which was delicious. I am a big fan of seafood stew and Mangos Zarzuel Mariscos knocked it out of the ballpark! My wifes Shrimp Victoria was equally as delectable. The mojitos are great and our server (Micaela) was wonderful. This place is a gem!
Fun spot but someone pulled out a gun towards bar closing. Not sure how this even occurred when theres security making sure to register everyone before they enter the club.
First of all terrible service. The rice tasted like to much chicken broth that come in powder. The drink was very week in liquor. Was not impress with the cleanessle of the place. Never will go back avain
Awesome place for latin food, or an awesome night out. Full bar with dance floor and restaurant, you can have a nice latin dinner, a couple of drinks and dance it off so there is no guilt!
Door girl was horrendous and worst customer service Ive ever encountered. This place was not inviting at all. The only plus are the body guards they were nice and helpful.
Great drinks, music and atmosphere!
Any reservations? You asked us that 4 times Miss Hostess, why does it matter when no one is here? And where did we learn how to cook pork? Tough stuff burnt my calories off as I ate. Probably bite through nails now. Flavors were there, and with a little cooking practice mister chef could really whip something up special. Mofongo was fun, but I just looked it up and found out what it was.
Had a great meal. Our waiter invited us to come back to enjoy the dancing that night. We went and had a blast.
I loved their fried plantains and their yummy sauce. Its a lovely dish. If you have time their fish is amazing as well
Did not like the food at all. Went for food and dancing. Dancing started so late we left before it started.
Good mix of styles! Didnt get boring because I was busy dancing salsa, reggaeton, cumbia, merengue, punta.... So fun!!!
The food is below average. Do not expect big things coming into this restaurant. Nothing authentic about the dishes served. Sea food good.
$25 to get in but they give you a wrist band of 5 free drinks had a really good time mixed people such as Puerto Ricans , Mexicanos , and possibly more Cultures they also serve food the parking is kinda first come first serve they really dont have an actual parking just for them other than parking in the street if you find any open the ladies were dressed up and fellas tambien looked like men can be dressed down and still get in .
The food here is very authentic and is pretty great in my opinion. Never been treated anything other than great here. Great spot.
Food is delicious, Paella Valenciana is for 2 or more people.... very friendly personnel, Tuesdas is Kareoke nigth and Thursday to Saturday are Salsa nigth.
Great! Im a vegan and they made special tacos for me. They remember me and really make me feel welcome! Great fresh food !
Love going for the music and the dancing, but their drinks are not made very well. The arroz con pollo is yummy!
I was told to visit this place for the cusine! I liked it but def went at the wrong time of day (night time). Being as I am from Florida I enjoyed the Latin culture and GORGEOUS Women!!! (dont tell my wife!)
Its was ok. I liked the atmosphere and the bracelet thing where you have 3 free drinks per ticket you rip off of the bracelet.
When George Brandes Floyd worked there I saw Pigs fly.Love the vibe. Love the try.Hate the Father who has left many of his own in the ground.
Jovani the bartender took care of my table. Best bartender. Food is so great!
Food is great at the restaurant, staff friendly and music choice is perfect, the only inconvenience I find is the group of people standing or walking thru in the dance floor.
We had happy hour, were charged $70.00, got home to look at the bill realised the waitress had taken the itemized bill.we have called, stopped given the info to the hostess have never heard from them to this day.
This place is good food not over seasoned with spices but just enough to taste amazing ,the red beans and rice and the green ham is bomb .
The music is super but the place was too hot, but other then that is a very cute place to go dancing.
We had a swell and splendid time drinking and eating in the great atmosphere have some hot Latino music.
Im Latino, so I like dance all kinds a music, but in this place dont play any other than, merengue, bachata y dance , you need to improve and play more cubos y salsa
Great reggaeton music, good latin club, get the 20 dollar wrist band at the door so you can a get 3 drinks, instead of just paying 10 bucks at the door and buyind separate drinks.
This foodie loves Mango. Look past the store front and prepare to savor the Caribbean food. Mofongo and plantains abound. You can also have paella, for less than you can prepare it at home (saffron is expensive!) The service is slow because the food is prepared when you order it. Bring friends, sit back at the spacious tables, and enjoy a slow, delicious meal. My suggestions: green plaintain tapas or ceviche appetizer; ropa vieja or paella. Try the congri!
Great dance party and drinks are included with a 20 dollar wrist band. Bands will make them dance!!!!!
Paella...ok, sort of bland and a bit shy on the amount of shellfish, a bit heavy on the (cheap) frozen cod. (Tough, chewy) Rice overcooked and gummy. Went on a Friday night. Met at door by some big, serious looking fellas who asked me to declare weapons, then gave me a light pat down! THAT was a bit un-nerving.
Food is always amazing the drinks are great and the music is on point. I love this place
Drink was good but they were charging more than the price listed in the menu and when someone in our party confronted the bartender about it they didnt address the problem
Busy and spacious. Beans taste good and traditional, black beans are fresh. This restaurant is spacious and staff is nice.
I was there last night with few friends trying to have a good time and the Asian guy at the door pointed at me with something acting like in defense mode so I asked him why he was doing that and he started yelling at me when I was talking to him without raising my voice and he kept talking trying to act like a badass and yes I had some beers before I went there but I remember everything and I wasnt rude to him, I been there before and never had a problem this guy need to learn how to treat people, my friend ( girl) she was also treated rude from the same guy and she got there before me
Very Delicious food, but why is the host so rude ? It almost seemed like she didn’t have no manners. Very upsetting
Drinks were expensive and you didnt get not even a buzz. People very bold.
Nice place to go dance- dance floor does get overcrowded and its super hot. Great atmosphere.
Very dissatisfied with their service, i order some food and right when i was about to start eating i see the cheff seating in a table drinking like a regular customer. Thats not professional.
Asked for a glass of water but I was told that I needed to buy food. Yet no one had given us a menu or came to my table to see if we where going to order food.
Vibrant place, good Latin food and friendly atmosphere, services is top of the line! And very safe for patrons.
Great Caribbean cuisine with unique flavors sure to impress anyone else looking to endure their taste buds accompanied by the latin rythms of Latin and tropical music.
The staff here is very nice. Really cool place to go for dancing and drinks on the weekend.
Best place to be on a saturday night and dance salsa bachata or reggeaetonOnly wish it was open till 4am like new York to keep party but always enjoy my night when Im there regardless
The owners are fantastic! The chefs are excellent! Food is great! And the servers and bartenders are amazing!
Excellent food. Recommend plantain tapas and empanadas for starters...Arroz con Mariscos or con Pollo are awesome dishes, as well as Ropa Vieja.
Ive been here for about 2 hours and the DJ has not played I need bachata yet. I asked hon to play some bachata 30 minutes ago and not one yet. Bored so bored
Avoid this place, Zero starsTerrible food and horrible service by Brie our servicer. The 2 hour wait for food and bartender over charge me and pocketed the money.
Food had HAIR in it. The whole table lost their appetites and we sent all of our food back right after it was delivered. The business expected us to pay for it anyway. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!
I love the short ribs. Super good. Just wish they gave more then 3 pieces.🤘🏾🤙🏽💯
Very laid back and comfortable setting. Server was very great! Seemed very clean and not to many people.
Great music and atmosphere. Bartenders are good . Delicious appetizers all night !
Didnt like the portions on the ribs but the atmosphere was very lively
Vern, Amanda, Carla, Beto y Cesar gave me great service and well as the conga whole management. Best Latin caribbean you can find in the whole state!! Gracias La Conga 🙏🏽😊
They were closed and two big mexican guys were very rude to this white lady that only asked them a simple question and they got a snotty attitude with her and went and got a black guy who was very professional and handled the situation with much respect
Excellent food and friendly staff every time weve dined there.
OMG, the best paella ever! I could eat it every day. I cant wait to go back.
I loved it there, went with my bf sister and friends good music. Good drinks!
My wife and I like this place good prices on drinks and if you like to dance thats the place
Food was good. Forget the appetizers and try the main dishes. They are very good.
Fun for Salsa dancing! Drinks are pretty overpriced, though.
The food was disappointing. There were not a lot of choices, the servings were tiny, and everything on the menu was very expensive.
Only had some margaritas it was good. Plenty of out door seating.
The best place to go dancing! I had an awesome margarita here too!
20 $ to get in to dance . 10 is cover charge and 10 charge for drinking ! Horrible ! Rude service , dirty .
Total diamond in the rough. The food here is amazing, drinks are cheap and great service. Cant recommend it enough.
Ive been here for 1 hour and half and still havent got my food. And somehow the coke was flatDo not come here if youre hungry.
Im not Congo floor is really go with the only comedian Place in Minnesota. Food was really good today
Great food (love the shrimp and mufungo), great service, and great staff.
Staff is awesome, food was good. But the amount was little. But the atmosphere in there Is THE BEST!!
This has been my favorite bar and club, and restaurant for over 15 years... absolutely love the atmosphere!
The space in the middle of the restaurant is a little bit to big especially when the dancing part has not started yet.
Food is great the place is perfect to share and music Para dancing :)
Dark and a little dingy but its a great place. Amazing service from the bar and incredible happy hour specials.
Horrible. I applied for a job. I was told theyd call me back . Never did
The food is great. Its almost like my Cheers.
Had dinner and went to a dance class there - highly recommend, never danced before and it was a wonderful experience.
Great place dancing and good drinks and great food quick appetizers
I loved it.... Though my date was not happy. I thought it was wonderful
What a nice surprise! Wonderfully flavorful food in a different cultural atmosphere.
Cool bar my dad had his 40th Birthday at!! Great service from the bartender!
Good. Yep. Yum. Jamaican chicken, mofongo and pork. Nice staff during the day.
Awesome place to spend a nice Saturday night out drinking and dancing.
Great place for an awesome Paella and wine .. Ill say the best in town
Good place to meet up with friends dance some latin music and have dinner and yes drinking
