Super cute venue. Very low lit with comfy couches and cute decorations adorn the walls. Nice bartenders, but they dont have much time to chat with how busy they are at times, especially during shows. Overall, a fun and cute venue for live shows. Having room to dance is good too, with a good view of the performers.
Great bar and local venue located in Dinkytown. The drinks are very cheap, but well made. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys dive bars, a atmosphere perfect for conversation and local music. The music was fantastic and the people who were there to support the local artist were friendly and well behaved.5 stars without a doubt!
This place was one of my favorite lounge/bars. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and magnificent place to meet friends and co-workers for a cocktail.Wish theyd open back up.
I hadnt been here in a while, but recently visited again for a happy hour. It hasnt changed much, which is both great and not so great. Great in the sense that its still so laid back and very casual. I love that. No so great in that the decor feels old and probably needs a bit of an update. Overall, great place to lounge and hang out.
I absolutely adore this place. The fact that there is live music scheduled every night of the week is impressive. They host local, national, and internationally touring bands which is super cool. The prices are good and its not at all like the college town bars that get hectic and super crowded on the weekends. Love this place.
Fantastic lounge/bar. The vibe is very laid back, great drinks as well!!! vintage decorations, candles, and funky mood lighting set the atmosphere just right. Bathrooms are gender neutral!! The bar area is pretty accessable as it is right inside the door. Bathrooms are slightly less accessable due to being down a set of dark stairs. I still give this place 5 stars! staff is friendly, and attentive. :) would recommend to others!
This was my FAVORITE bar and music venue to go to. Before I moved to the cities I actually took time to travel down here just to come to this place for my birthday. Im hoping we can see the Kitty Cat Klub open up its doors again soon.
Interior is super nice! But everything else is mediocre. Staff is unfriendly, music depends on the night and most importantly: prices are not reasonable. Youd think that if you come to the party 1h before the club closes you would get a cheaper cover than other people who have been dancing for several hours. But no, even if you show up 30 min before the kitty cat club closes, you still have to pay full price...
Beautiful decor, very kitschy. Interesting mix of patrons, good staff. Nice layout, and I especially appreciate their mini patio. Good dance floor, solid jams.
I am not really much of a clubber or whatever, but this place is dope. I love the lounge feel, colors, music, and staff. Always seems low-key and I love it.Also, the guy at the door is a fantastic artist.
Very unique and cool atmosphere. Strong drinks, decent wine and beer selection. When a band is playing you can hear it pretty much everywhere in the place.
Unique ambience with extra comfy furniture. The deck is great for socializing and sharing a smoke. The live music in most evenings is excellent - Hipshaker is a favorite monthly event. Food from Annies is delicious, too.
Funky little bar. Great for happy hour or a stop on your night out on the town. There is a deck for nice-weather days or nights. Like the Loring Pasta Bar next door, this place is great ambiance.
This is one of my favorite bars in Minneapolis.I love the atmosphere. The lighting is dim and colorful. There are colored light bulbs everywhere. There is random artwork all over the walls, the bar is wood with melted candle wax all over it.The couches are comfortable, large and any person will sink in them. This is a great place for a date and to get together with friends. I love coming here in the winter where I can lounge on the couches with my friends and have some drinks.Parking is not great. Its in Dinkytown, so youll have to park a few blocks away and walk unless you take the bus.The service here is ok. Some people are friendlier than others. There is a stage and dance floor for live music and dancing. There is a small patio on the side of the bar. They have heat lamps on the fall and winter.
Walking into the Kitty Cat Klub feels like youve gone down the rabbit hole. The space is amazingly decorative and there is tons of comfy seating. They also have a large outdoor patio. It is usually fairly dead before 10p so, if you go early, it can feel like you dont belong there. The drinks are basic and kind of pricy and parking is a huge challenge. Still...it is a memorable experience.
Atmosphere here is probably in the top 3 for Dinkytown. Dim and fun colored lighting along with comfortable seating, and decent drinks makes for a good time. Staff is hit or miss sometimes. Stage and dance floor is occasionally used for live music and dancing.Note, because it is Dinkytown, parking can be a pain if you are driving here.
I know many people that like the Kitty Kat Club for its atmosphere and comfy chairs, but their lack of any beers on draft bothers me. They also dont serve any food, and when I called one time to ask if I could bring food in they would not allow anything at all to be brought in. If you like expensive cocktails and overpriced bottled beer this is the place to go, but in my opinion there are much better places to go for drinks in Dinkytown and the surrounding area.
While I have loved the Kitty Kat Club since I was an undergrad, tonight I had the most disappointing experience. I showed my government issued passport at the door, and as a server in the Minneapolis industry, am aware of the legality of its presentation. The door person proceeded to argue (mockingly) with me when I disagreed with their statement passports are not accepted in bars. Letting them know I am in the industry myself, and know the state law, they repeatedly continued to tell me not in bars. I asked if I should leave as they wont accept the invalid id and then I was told I could enter the establishment regardless. WHAT? If it is invalid shouldnt I not be served? I would normally brush these issues off, however this door person chose to tell my coworkers who followed me in later that we got into an argument over my passports validity. This was extremely poor guest service, they could have been much more cordial in handling the situation, they should not have discussed this issue with other guests, and in fact, could have called a manager over. I chose to leave the Kitty Kat Club and all my coworkers (we were out for post-training mingling as we are all staffed to run the new Varsity Theatre).I am extremely frustrated by the lack of professionalism or knowledge from this employee. Please refer to the MN statute below:340A.503 PERSONS UNDER 21; ILLEGAL ACTS. Subd. 6. Proof of age; defense; seizure of false identification. (a) Proof of age for purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages may be established only by one of the following: (3) a valid passport issued by the United States.
Great place, great drinks and lovely live music. I don’t recall what band played that night. However I took 2 stars away because the rest room is terrible.
My experience at the bar was really not the best. Bar tender rolled his eyes at me when I asked for my beer as if he couldnt believe I chose that one. Ive worked in the service industry my whole life and I get the eye roll...but never in front of the customer. That pretty much soured my whole experience.
This place is missed immensely by the music community and one dancefloor I daydream about. Im one of many. So sad it never re-opened, still hope it will again...tragic. :(
Oh man where do I even start...What a bizzare place. Very old, dated, kinda unsanitary. Larger dance floor than expected. Lots of dark corners for privacy. Icky old couches everywhere. Awesome people watching thats for sure.
This is my favorite bar in Minneapolis. I love how they almost always have live music or some event going on. They also have the cheapest drink prices of any place I have ever seen in Minneapolis.
Fine place, however the person at the door had never seen a passport before and wouldn’t take it as a ID. Then he accepted a voided out of state license as as valid ID. Beware if you’re traveling with a passport, which btw is a totally acceptable form of ID as far as I can tell in Minneapolis for entering bars (MN Statute 340A.504). He said the reason he didn’t want to take a passport is because some people have restrictions on their MN identification cards not allowing them in bars? But, he was fine with a out of state ID that was no longer valid? Idk. I found it extremely unprofessional.
Love this place. Very groovy and a gem in dinkytown, you dont get your typical college vibe at all but just good prices on drinks a unique dark but eccentric vibe
Ive been here several times and had a good time each time. Cozy atmosphere in the couch area and cool dance floor for those who want to dance all night.
Good food. good drinks. awesome patio for smokers. one of the craziest looking live music venues out there and i mean that in a good way.
Cool theme music venue . Has a lot of drinks and cool place to sit to talk to people. Live bands are interesting here and a cool bathroom!!
Loved every night out that I spent here great atmosphere perfect music and killer staff
Stopped in the door to warm up, and the bouncers were total ars wagons. “Are you warm yet? We’ve got a $7 cover charge”. Ars waaaaagon. Just women warming up for a flippin second. I’ll never go back. Just rude.
Its fine. As far as facilities go it does what it is supposed to. Staff is friendly, small stage that occasionally has terrible sound, even if youre up front. mostly its fine.
Sneaky little bar located in Dinkytown. live music most nights. one of the most unique interiors in Minneapolis, find a nook for you and your friends. pinball, pool, and photo booth are in back corner to the left. the patio, if you go to the corner and lean has a great view of the MPLS skyline. Grand Marnier is a specialty here.
Strip club name meets Grandmas basement. If the tilted colored lamp shades dont drive you crazy the goth/trance music played by the DJ will. The KCK is in dire need of a bar food menu and more drink options. Atmosphere was dead.
A very enjoyable place to have a drink and watch some live music. Great cocktails and fantastic tap beer.
Loved this bar because of how cute it is, but don’t you dare walk in to the bar when it’s empty with leftovers to grab a drink on your walk home because they’ll tell you to leave because you brought food in, that you weren’t going to touch/eat anyways.... your bar is empty bruh, do you not want my money????
Worst reception ever. the rudest man i have ever met....super racist. we did not say anything yet he kept saying: IT IS A BAR LOUNGE, NOT A RESTAURANT....lol we are grown up women, we obviously know we are walking into a bar...super disappointed customer service!
Love the vibe in here, lots of nooks and couches, fun place to be with friends or see a show. Friendly bar staff, great decor
Good strong drinks and the Live Bands Are Great! Was my first time & has a smoker friendly porch.
One of my favorite bars. Ample seating in secluded areas. Great ambiance.
Great bartenders that can make a good drink. Music can be hit or miss, but this is a go to spot for hanging out and shooting some pool
Excellent music venue and bar. Its uniqueness is its charm. Comfortable.
I would call it the lets talk about it bar. Not very loud music ,low lighting. Its a good place to talk with someone.
Drum n Bass, $2.50 Tallboys, Excellent Dance-Floor, Unbelievable Talent AND Scenery- coupled with Fast Drink Service and Oh Jeez!
A unique place that looks like a gypsy could live in. Pretty fun, worth a visit for the atmosphere alone. Not a strip club.
Very loud, lots of people just making out on random couches all over the place. Definitely doesnt feel clean.
We purchaseda bottle of wine...had to drink out of a Cola glass! Was told no wine glasses available! How can you serve wine and not have wine glasses. Doubt your business well do well with this idiocy.
Best and one of the most unique places in the cities. Miss this place.
Fun place to grab drinks with a friend or a group. loads of comfy couches/chairs... eccentric vibe
Definitely one of the most unique bars in all of the Twin Cities. Check them out!!
Neat atmosphere. Decent drinks. Love all the couches and what not.
I love the decor in this place. When I have company come to the city, this is definitely a stop on the tour
This is a fun place to see music. Lots of lounging space, a pool table, and some pinball.
Really wish this place would open up again. Hipshaker isnt the same.
One star because I need to leave a review otherwise this place would get negative stars. Get a decent happy hour then give me a call.
Terrible! Only came for a buddy. The owner needs an attitude check. Bathrooms are horrible! Need renovations badly. Wasting no more time with this review.
Good offer of local artist, good place to hang out and drink some beers with live music.
It has a very interesting decor inside. Not like other bars.
Came for the band, stayed for the pinball. Also had a great view from the deck/patio.
They did not allow us in and they gave us no reason at all whatsoever these people and their staff need to be fixed otherwise they will have more problem with other people in the future.
Reasonable prices, welcoming comfortable lounging, good music, friendly crowd.
Great atmosphere and music. Love the balcony!
Great ambiance. Nice lounge / drinks place.
Had email several times.!.No reply to that.!Club was cool.. Different..Would go again..
Cool atmosphere, but no beer on tap.
Super relaxed and cozy environment, best patio in Dinkytown

Awesome place, great sound, fun vibe.
The Kitty Kat Klub is awesome so put the pedal to the metal and keep on trucking!
Cozy place and nice ambience, just a little expensive.
When this place was open it was Devine little hangout...what happened?
Good Music venue and general place to lounge.
Great location in Dinkytown but the food was plain.
Good cocktails & a fun place to hangout.
Very cool lounge type atmosphere.
Great atmosphere but the service could be better.
Bartenders at this box are a lot like an attorney. (If you have a really bad attorney)
Great interior. Semi private if you want.
The Best Klub ever please come back!
Love this place, the vibe the feel everyhing about this place kicks a**!!
Beautiful venue and good drinks.
Is this place even open still? They close so early and it looks abandoned.
Fun place to grab a few drinks.
Favorite live music venue in Dinkytown.
The atmosphere! So Gothic, artsy and alluring!
