I was here for a Prof concert last week! I sat in the middle of the balcony seating. The view was phenomenal. It was awesome to see everyone down in GA erupt with the music, I got great videos and pics, it was much cooler in temperature obviously and I loved that the bar was super close! I also loved the chandeliers!!
Went to see The Struts and Barns Courtney. The show was absolutely stellar but The Fillmore definitely heightened the mood. Beautiful venue, loved the chandeliers. Staff was so kind and thoughtful. Plenty of bar space and a large bathroom with plenty of stalls that kept the lines rolling quickly. From the projector before the show began, it seems like they host a wide variety of shows. Had a great time!
We saw Qveen Herby on 7/30/24! The Fillmore has a fun vibe and we had a great time! They also provided a small supply of water bottles as it got really hot, which was super nice! One note - I dont think fast lane passes are worth it. If you want to be touching the stage close, buy the pre-show pass. People will end up pushing their way to the front anyway, which is out of the Fillmores control. Next time we will splurge for balcony seats, now thats where its at!!
Worst seating ever. Dont know who brought in the childrens chairs. It is a insult to everyone who purchased tickets for that seating. Would not recommend anyone purchase tickets for seating on the main floor.Nothing against the bands they are always great. But the venue does not care one bit about the customers or fans. Ive seen more professional seating at a recital for kindergarteners. This is supposed to be a music venue and they cant even step up their game to the bare minimum. Its pathetic...Little stickers on the floor and little chairs to indicate which row and which seat. This is sad. Of all the cheap ways to try to save a buck and shaft the fans this place takes the cake.
First and foremost, I must commend the venue for its sheer beauty. The meticulous arrangement of lights, the vibrant banners, and the elegant overhead chandeliers created a mesmerizing ambiance. The attention to detail was truly commendable. The staff, too, played a significant role in enhancing our experience. Right from the beginning, their efficiency stood out. A staff member promptly approached us while we were waiting in line, streamlining the process by requesting our IDs for those planning to drink. Moreover, the staff members were incredibly helpful throughout. We were guided to our seats directly by another courteous staff member who also provided us with wristbands. This simple yet effective measure eliminated the hassle of showing our IDs repeatedly; a quick wristband and we were good to go.I wholeheartedly recommend this venue. And if youre considering it, investing a little extra for balcony access is definitely worth it. It not only adds to the overall experience but also allows you to fully appreciate the beauty and grandeur of the event. A night at this venue, coupled with their excellent staff and attention to convenience, is guaranteed to leave you with unforgettable memories.
Absolutely one of my favorite venues! Ive seen so many artists here and the staff is always sooooo amazing! Also shout-out to Paige who randomly selected me and my friend for a FREE upgrade to a box tonight!! Highly recommend going to a concert here!
Was able to see my favorite band last Saturday night for the first time! Such a neat venue and the interior of the building was bigger than I expected. I was close to the stage in general admission and the room was packed, but we all had such a great time enjoying their groovy music!Thank you Men I Trust! ❤️
If it is hot outside, I would avoid this venue at all costs. The concert acoustics were great, but it was insanely hot, well over 100⁰ inside and everyone was literally dripping sweat. I couldnt image how uncomfortable the performer was as well.Drinks were over priced as youd expect and entering through the upper level was actually a worse experience than entering through the main level. Definitely wont attend a concert here again. One pro though- all staff were very friendly!
Great experience, had incredible seats. Their lighting system is Incredible. Super upbeat atmosphere. Staff are friendly and chill. We entered, went through metal detectors, scanned our tickets, and were in our seats in under 3 minutes, the staff know what theyre doing and made our night hassle free so we could just enjoy good music.Update on Oct. 26 2023: weve gone to three shows here so far and I still stand by this review!
I’ve been to quite a few metal shows here and they do a truly outstanding job. They know what to expect from us as an audience and let us go crazy! They have FREE WATER! The security they hire is top notch and friendly. Sound is fantastic. They don’t gouge the artist by taking a cut of the merch they sell (according to a few posts I’ve seen the bands make) which is great for them!
Great event venue space. Highly recommend attending any artist that is performing here if you’re concerned about the venue being large enough etc. Very comfortable setting, enough space for everyone. Acoustics are nice as well and can be heard anywhere throughout the venue space. Great selection of alcohol to choose from.Be aware not to bring anything other than what you specifically need. Any large items will need to be stored away or not brought into the venue at all out of safety precautions for the audience and the artist.
Easy entry. Clean venue. Good view from ADA seating section, per friends that used it. Miserably hot inside, though. I am sincerely on the fence about returning to see another artist/band play here because of how seriously hot it was inside. Also, I was rather disappointed by the staffs effort to chase down vape pens, but not noticing the woman that passed out near me during the show.
This was my first time at The Fillmore, and I had a great time! I attended a sold-out show featuring Cultus Black, Twiztid, Dope, Fear Factory, and Static-X. The most challenging thing was figuring out parking since I was not familiar with the area. We upgraded our tickets to a side standing area with drink service. Im very glad we made this choice. The area was slightly elevated, so I was able to see better, we werent crowded, and there was air conditioning blowing directly on us! Our drink server was amazing! Low key, chill, and very relaxed, our bar tender Kevin had a smile all night and was a delight to interact with! I believe the next employee was security, but he wore a blue shirt I stead of black, anyway his name was Shane and he was a real stand up guy! My wife had a slight creep out from another attendee, and Shane was right there to make sure everything was good. Throughout the evening, Shane was attentive, courteous, and strict. I enjoyed having him close by. The lady (I didnt get her name) who upgraded our tickets was super nice and helped us out a lot! Overall, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, pleasant, and just a joy to be around. Thank you, Fillmore, for an entertaining night!
Good sound and it was pretty easy to get myself through the crowd to get close to the band! It was my first time there and I would def go back. The staff was super friendly also
If it wasnt for the terrible chairs, this would be a top-notch venue. I saw a comedian perform here, and the first joke was how physically close I was to my stranger seat neighbor. We touched from shoulders to thighs because the chairs are so close together. There isnt much space to walk through the row if people are sitting, so there was a lot of adjusting if someone had to get by. The venue is beautiful, and the unique art and decor paired with black lights make it visually stimulating. The bathrooms are clean, and the stalls are spacious. We had to walk through a metal detector when entering the building, and they had limits on purse/bag size.

Coming around to the place, taken a few visits however. I do believe they over sell downstairs using the capacity numbers granted with the space on the balcony/booths upstairs. dont exactly have the best pathing for the restrooms. Security is very in peoples business, without addressing the obvious other problems. No re-entry!!!! No smoking patio is definitely one of the stars lostWith that said everyone whos worked the rail at the last 6 or shows, was amazing. Had a decent time at shows here regardless. Bars are quick. Entry lines never that long.Bathroom waits arent ever to bad.
Wonderful venue for AMAZING artists! Loved the photo booth and the free water. Only thing that sucks is that there is no re-entry. That wont stop me from going, again, though!
Intimate venue in the heart of the North Loop. They have a sister restaurant you can go to before the shows, called Trax. There is a parking ramp, too. Excellent security, that move your swiftly through the line, inside. You can order food upstairs in BGs Lounge during shows. Superb bartenders. Prices are what youd expect for any venue these days. Card for payments, only. But I always have cash to tip the bartenders! SMOKERS! There is no re-entry, so smoke before you go in! They have a coat check, which is convenient. They offer free water at the end of the bar, and that is so rad. Especially considering some other places only sell it! Great sound and great sight lines from anywhere inside. You can also reserve a table, if youre feeling like table service. They have killer cocktail servers that make sure youre taken care of, if you do! Plus, you can rent out the entire place, or the attached restaurant for private events. Really dog this place. Check out a show there or check out their restaurant before a Twins game. Youll be happy you did. Picture is from the Minisrty/Gary Numan show!
Normally love this venue, but ordered two mixed drinks last night at a concert and the total was $43. Even the bartending staff was agreeing how out of control Live Nation has gotten with taxes and prices. I won’t be supporting this greedy venue anymore after that.
Cool venue! There was a Timberwolves draft watch party there that I was invited to. Theres a sweet second floor balcony I didnt go up to but theres stadium seating where I would imagine a show or concert would be a ideal seat. Felt very safe here as they had their security for the event preventing any threats from entering the venue.
The Concert itself was great! The only feedback I have, Is maybe having a gate Around all the early entry people In the future. I spent a lot of money for a meeting great with early entry so we can get a front spot But when the general admission people came in Somehow Between the beginning and the middle of the show They nudged their way in front of us.
$50 for two drinks. Highway robbery. I was in the front row and it took the security guard way to long to notice the guy who tried to break my arm. He eventually did notice and warned him. The guy then maybe 20 min later was finally taken out when they noticed he did it again. I was kinda bummed that when someone bumped into me and my glasses went over the wall, and security stepped on them while looking lol. Which wasnt there fault but still made the experience not as fun. It was really packed and really hard to get a good vantage point. If you are in the back the lighting sometimes was really annoying. The sound accoustics were overall nothing special just okay. The setup was weird in the fact that the bar was setup on the side and they had a rope that people just completely ignored by going under and around. Its a pretty annoying design flaw. Live Nation just really isnt as good as they think they are all around. Pretty disappointed. Least favorite of all minneapolis venues I have been too.
Outrageously expensive drinks. I tried to order a Manhattan, but they dont have vermouth, so they gave me a cup of bourbon with a splash of ginger ale. The price? $29.72 before tip. The menu said, spirits starting at $13. Was it the splash of soda that added $16 to the bill? At the end of the night, they closed one of the two womens bathrooms resulting in really long lines at the one remaining bathroom. Just annoying. Aside from that, the place is clean and new. I hope the acts I want to see choose another venue next time.
Such an amazing gem in our fine city! The food and service is top notch! I highly recommend their apps and cocktail menu. The best brussels sprouts Ive had in the cities! I suggest making reservations for dinner when you get your tickets; theres a private line for anyone coming from the restaurant/bar.The venue is stunning with artwork and views from every corner. Several bars made liquids easily accessible. Most importantly, I was impressed with the sound! Every vocal and instrument was clearly heard and the screaming of the fans was not deafening. 😂 All in all, this place never fails to provide a great time!
Great venue with incredible staff! Alex and Austin were on security during the Lil Yachty concert and did an amazing job keeping everyone safe and in their areas. The bartending staff was equally as great. I was nervous taking two fifteen year old boys here but the entire experience was wonderful, safe, and so fun thanks to the staff!
Theres not really anything standout about this venue other than being very close to the light rail, but they dont even give you a light rail ticket like many other venues. Starting with entry, the security screening is intentionally slow to encourage you to buy expedited screening for around $30. They are also very bad at screening. They missed a large piece of metal in the secondary screening, and the magnetometer for the primary screening is set low enough to miss a cell phone. It would be very easy to get in with a weapon if you plan ahead. They use security screening as a crowd control measure, not to ensure anyones safety. The drinks are on the high end of downtown prices, around $12 for rail cocktails. Seating is very uncomfortable in tiny folding chairs. They are also placed very close together. The notoriously small seats at Target Center seem luxurious in comparison. Its a reasonably large flat auditorium, so seating behind around row J means youll have a better view if you stand along the sides. In the survey they sent afterwards, they asked about some experiences available like VIP area, photos, etc. I didnt see any of that waking around. The acoustics werent very good, but its small enough and the volume is loud enough that its not a distraction. One very annoying thing was the show time is not the ticketed time. The tickets show when the doors open, you have to search around the internet to find the actual show time. Overall, I wouldnt come here for the venue to see a performer I didnt know, but I wouldnt skip a performance because of the venue.
Took my 11 year old daughter to see Jinjer and had passes for the meet and greet. There was one particular lady who works for the venue who was very helpful and nice with my daughter. Very professional when it came to getting us in for the VIP and also mentioned that the bar area had ear plugs in case my daughter needed it. While me and my daughter were waiting to buy merchandise she saw us and stopped by and gave us said ear plugs. She was very accommodating and awesome, she wore a light blue shirt with the numbers 01 on her shirt. If she sees this or if you know her as a co worker let her know my daughter and myself had a great time at the show
Abnormally hot inside. Terrible floorplan. Feels like the goal was a smaller Armory, but instead it ended up feeling more like the Myth. Sound is good, which earned the 2 stars.
Upon reading some of the negative reviews, I was so apprehensive of going here that my friends and I almost skipped our event entirely. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The hardcore strictness of the venue that I was reading about didn’t seem to be a thing at the show I attended, but it definitely leaves me questioning why other shows seem soooo strict. It is truly a beautiful venue, the sound and lights were great, and my bag was only lightly checked upon entry. Based on my experience and other reviews, if you go to The Fillmore, it definitely seems like a gamble with what kind of security and treatment you’ll experience. I am only leaving three stars though because there isn’t an outdoor smoking section, and drink prices are absolutely bonkers ($42 for two Tito’s mixed drinks) and the bar only takes card(which I do somewhat understand because cash can be gross and there would be a lottt of it). I think this venue has the potential to be the best in Minnesota, genuinely, but I think it needs a few changes first, starting with squashing your reputation of rude security and TSA-like entry.
What a great experience my friend and i had here! i came here in February to see Louis Tomlinson sing, which my friend invited me to! i am so glad she invited me because it was INCREDIBLE, and i would do it again! such an amazing night and i wish i could go back to that night:) there was also an opening act, Sunroom, whose music i had never heard before this night, but it’s very good!! i’m so grateful i got to go and i hope he comes back here! this venue was also great, and Louis mentioned that this was the smallest venue he had performed at all tour, which i think is so cool! love this venue and Louis🤍🤍
First Fillmore experience. Amazing venue! Great sound, enough bars, chill bartenders and crowd. Looking forward to the next show. Question for the patterns: is that Jim Morrison on the mural!? I need to know. (I think it was suppose to be)
Seeing Phem & Waterparks was so much fun! The venue was gorgeous & mostly clean, but those are really the only good experiences I had. The staff DID NOT respect the VIP fans and almost pulled everyone with a gift out of line for no reason. Most the security staff were rude or passive for no reason. I don’t recommend any artist with a lot of younger (teen & twenties) fans to do a VIP experience here. Thanks to the artists for putting on an incredible show. Fillmore management, teach your staff some compassion.
BEAUTIFUL venue! Had an awesome time at the Ministry concert last night. I didnt take any pics or video (didnt see a ton of phones in the air either). It was a throwback crowd who just enjoyed the atmosphere and live music. For a sold out show it was still pleasant with easy access to the bar. I like that with GA you can be as close or far from the stage as you like. Security staff were alert but very professional handing out bottles of water as needed to the crowd up front. This was my first show at the Fillmore. I cant wait to return for another. I hope they continue to seek out industrial bands like Skinny Puppy and Ministry! It was great to see GenX Minneapolis represent!🤘
Really cool entertainment venue with balcony seating. Every spot in the entire place has a great view of the stage. Very clean bathrooms. Very nice upgraded facilities.
This place has to rigid of security for venue size and the prices for both tickets and drinks are MORE than new york city. This is a good venue but this is still MINNEAPOLIS 🔥to remain sucessful and for folks to actually like going to the venue you can not GOUGE patrons at the leval you do.Its hard to visit a place and fully enjoy it while feeling taken advantage of financially.
A horrifying experience over all. I don’t know where to start. Let’s start with staff who were unnecessarily yelling at people in line. It then turned out that most of the people in line didn’t need to be in that line. It took an extremely long time to get through the line - meaning they were understaffed. The seating is horrifying. It’s bellow the stage and on a flat surface. Meaning if you are of average height you cannot see. The seats themselves- tiny pleather folding chairs. No armrests.
Terrible, very corporate feeling venue. If your show is sold out, prepare for it to be completely oversold and borderline dangerous with the amount of people crammed in here. Alcoholic drinks are ridiculously overpriced. The railing standing area upstairs has terrible sightlines and people in the balcony seating in front of you WILL stand and completely block the view of the stage. Oh, and no food for some reason unless you go to their overpriced in-house restaurant that closes at 10pm? Why do none of the larger venues in the twin cities sell any kind of food? (Thank God for independent venues like Amsterdam Bar) For long shows, its borderline inhumane because you cant even bring outside food.Oh, and stupid Livenation/Ticketmaster force everyone to use cashless payments only to extract maximum revenue from us peasants forced into coming here to try and support the artists. Truly a sad and pathetic company. The picture attached are the prices for the bar: almost Xcel Energy Center level prices.
I attended the Blue October concert at The Fillmore last night. Tha facility is really a lovely space and their staff is wonderful! They are all so kind and friendly and helpful. My dear friend Paula, won tickets so that is why I was able to attend. We were able to attend a pre concert sound check and question and answer session that was included with the prize. The band Blue October is such a nice group of young men. They are funny, well-travelled and extremely talented. Their concert was amazing.I hope anyone reading this has an opportunity to visit the Fillmore and attend a concert. And you definitely have to see Blue October!Have fun!
Got to see Ralph Barbosa last night for the first time at the Fillmore and it was a nice venue I liked that it was spacious and cleanBut man $40 for two drinks was insane ! I get it you gotta make your money lol but I just want people to know that if you go expect every drink is about $20 and only card no cash. Not super great for comedy shows
I was here for a concert. Alter Bridge and Sevendust. The first time I was here was when it was called the quest. Saw Alter Bridge then, too. I like the venue back then and even more now. There is not a bad seat in the house. I will have to say the process for getting in was quick and painless. Everyone I had interactions with was professional and helpful. I only have one beef with the venue and that is it is cashless. You must have a card. However, much of everything in that neighborhood is. Again, the venue was great.
Really nice new venue. Its a cashless venue, so bring a credit card. Maybe it depends on the particular show, but when we went they only allowed transparent handbags or small clutch purses, so I had to put stuff in my pockets. Staff was helpful about accommodating my friends ADA needs. The bar wont give you a cup of water - you have to pay $5 for a can of Liquid Death water. But club soda (sparkling water) from the tap is free!Doors were supposed to open at 6 but I dont think they started letting people in until after 6:30, and it was pretty chilly out. Theres some room for improvement there.
TL:DR get a second mortgage to cover drink costs...As far as sound quality and ambiance, The Fillmore is great. The staff is also great, friendly, fast, helpful... I had FastPass as an Affinity Plus member, but I wouldnt recommend you pay for it the line was fine. Where it starts to lose me is the insane cost of beverages. Not just alcoholic beverages, you get Xcel Energy Center beer prices here. Its insane. $6 for a can of water, $13 for a standard local beer... Sticker shock doesnt begin to describe it. My friend got LESS THAN AN OUNCE of whisky and it was over $20... Its a bad look, Fillmore... It just comes off as greedy.I did get a free ticket to another show on my way out the door, so thats cool... Hopefully they have a $7 beer there when I go...
Great sound, perfect size, wish the bar had better beer selection but of course all big venues struggle with that
Great place great staff. No bags were allowed but luckily I was able to coat check my camel pack and they did have easy access to cold water which was nice
Good performers. But the tiny little childrens chairs are a joke. Get more room on a Spirit airline flight. Whos ever retarded idea this was needs to lose their job. Not worth the money.
Great sound and great experience. However paid for 2 drinks and asked for a double. It cost 38$ and they werent even a single pour. Please step your game up on the drinks that was not cool.
I love the venue itself but the alcohol is so outrageously priced for the amount you get. To preface I work in the service industry. I knew I was going to be paying around $30 for two shots but for the bartender to not even count to 2 for the pour for each shot is a little ridiculous. It barely reached the line for the small cup. If you’re going to drink I highly recommend getting a can and staying far away from the mixed cocktails or hard liquor because they don’t even make it a little worth it. I usually don’t write reviews but I was stunned last night at gjones.
Beautiful venue, great location near light rail and a parking ramp attached if you get there early. Definitely in my top 5 places to see a show in mpls. Sound was great and there were plenty of staff available upon arrival/entry. They were quick to shut down the lady sitting near us trying to take a video on her phone with the flash on! Hahaha. Would definitely recommend and I look forward to seeing more shown here.
Saw a comedy show, which was fantastic. However, I was not pleased with the seats. Hard, uncomfortable, flimsy chairs was not what I imagined when I spent $60 a ticket. The atmosphere was fine, but the chairs piled on top of one another may prevent me from coming to see a show here again. We expected prices for beverages to be high, but high prices and uncomfortable seating do not mix.
I took my 10 year old daughter to the Fillmore last night for the Aly and AJ concert and we had a remarkable time. This being our first time to the Fillmore, it appeared as any downtown city building but upon entering the venue, it made me stop and take in the look and feel of the concert hall. You could sense that this was a place where many have performed and you were not only here to listen to music but to be part of an experience.Once the concert started, we were in the general admission area and I was holding her so she could see over the people in front of us since she is a lot shorter than the adults attending the concert. After a couple songs we moved further back so I could put her down and she could still somewhat see, but then picked her up again to give her a better view. That’s when a member of the staff (MiQueen) came over and asked my daughter if she would like to sit up in the balcony and have a better view.Once upstairs, we were led to a VIP box that gave us a great view of the concert, gave my daughter her own little spot to relax, we were able to order drinks and food if desired, from the wonderful staff, and gave us our own unique daddy daughter evening. During the concert and the ride home she not only talked about Aly and AJ but about the amazing time she had and how sitting up there in the VIP box made her feel “so cool, it was like I was someone famous”. This experience was definitely the highlight of her week and I highly recommend the Fillmore for any of those looking to hear some good music and an overall great experience. Especially the VIP seating area if you are looking for your own little spot in the concert while enjoying the same experience as those on the floor.Thank you again to the staff at the Fillmore, Aly and AJ, Miya Follick, and especially the staff member, MiQueen, for giving my daughter an experience that she will always remember.
Security: metal detectors/bag check. Great venue, bar tenders were wonderful, the only complaint I have is that, before I went to the show I checked the website and read their bag policy, which is 6” x 12” and so that is what I brought and when I got there they said it wasn’t allowed in. So why have a bag policy if you’re not going to follow it or update it to the correct information??k
Very clean and well-kept. Security was polite and helpful! First time seeing a show here and it was amazing!
The Eric Nam concert was my first experience at this venue. Everything about the concert was very detail oriented from lighting and sound to how the staff functioned. Everyone working this event was highly professional and on top of their game. Very special thank you to Andrew working security. Any sort of question or issue that came up during this event was addressed and resolved immediately with the utmost respect, kindness and patience. This man deserves a raise!
This venue does not allow the attendees to exit and reenter despite charging an arm and a leg to attend events here. The second star is because they employ a lot of people. Live Nation should leave Minnesota.
I wanted to give the venue an amazing review for its staff at the Eric Nam concert specifically. They were amazing resolving issues and just the most amazing team I’ve seen at any concert venue. Special shout out to Andrew for being amazing! He really made the concert experience so much better. He deserves a raise!!!
The place is beautiful, the staff great. The big problem is the same one that drove me away from the Myth, they over sell the place really badly. Done a couple sold out shows here and you can barely move, even in the back. I know were all trying make a buck in this world but there are plenty of venues around that sold out still feels comfortable and those places are successful to and many longstanding.Place is great besides that one big issues, just really hope they dial back the sold out number.
I LOVE coming here for concerts! Ive been to 3 shows here, and Im impressed by the sound, the atmosphere, and bar service!
This was insane 😳 Although the concert was amazing, being shoved into a pit with thousands of teenagers screaming like they were literally dying while Loius Tomlinson was on stage, not being able to move an inch, with lack of water, and watching my daughter almost pass out due to heat exhaustion was not my idea of fun. 3 people passed out during this concert. Security even had trouble getting through to get to the poor girls laid out on the floor. I honestly think this could be laid out a bit differently.
The Fillmore is one of my favorite venues in the city!Theres a lot of space for general admission/standing room only on the main level and you can get pretty close to the stage. Theres also a balcony upstairs with a few tables and reserved seating. The bathrooms are not bad for an event venue and there is also a coat check available. Security has always been pleasant when Ive interacted with them.Great bartenders and great drink specials. Special shout out to Stephanie, the coolest, friendliest bartender! There are 3 bars: one on the main level, one in the balcony and another little bar lounge area off to the side from the upstairs bar.I especially love the take-home shakers! I believe it costs $22 for your first drink, served in a (very sturdy) plastic shaker that you can take home. Then you can get it refilled for $19. These are big and strong drinks, consider yourself warned ha. Mine has The Fillmores logo on the side.
Nice venue, decent staff. Small, however, and only 1 set of restrooms for general admission, along with being cashless the new industry standard
We attended the Fillmore last night for a concert. We saw Motion City Soundtrack and it was a sold out show. The audio, we thought, sounded pretty darn good which was a concern of mine being that this was only the 3rd show at the brand new venue. The lighting was very good. Its a good sized space with a larger stage than First Ave. The floor is both deeper and wider as well with bars on both sides. The beers were mostly 16oz-24oz which I thought was awesome. There were space heaters along the line outside which is a nice touch for these winter shows. I cant wait to go back!!
Went there September 9th, 2023 for a Toad the Wet Sprocket/The Verve Pipe show. It was an absolutely fantastic venue. Sound was amazing relative to other venues. Bands completely killed it! One of the best concerts of my life, and I have been to many. Well done. Crowd was great, and you could walk right up to the bar with zero wait if you so choose.
JPeg (missed... Add your set times to Twitter like everyone else!)/ Snail mail/ Turnstile - they were great. But lets talk about the venue. Ignoring the trendy design style (you can tell Im invalidating my critique to the folks who run and own the spot right off the bat), theres something oddly wrong with the set-up. Hidden staircases, side bar rooms, and closed off tiers of entrances abound. It makes for some odd navigation once the venue fills. About the bars - staff is pleasant (despite most review boms nothing the opposite) but the selection of drink is a big issue. Good on the local alcohol, but MPLS has a bevy of non-ABV options that they dont have, but are open to charging (now) $6 for liquid death *still* canned water... Or juice and soda from the fountain. Live Nation could be doing a MUCH better job with the local THC and setzer options every other venue in the city provides. The staff agree, btw.Now for the big one - sound. Its boring and flat, leaning to treble. Why? The venue set up. The current EQ makes it super easy to make the sound feel level throughout the building no matter where you stand. It also drowns out Convo as a plus. A cool idea, but when the signature runs so flat, it makes me wish the bands were playing almost anywhere else. Sure, its not as bad as some Saint Paul venues (Roy....), its pretty bad for an ownership that charges a fee to buy tickets to their own venue.Sure, Ill check out a show here... But, in my measly income bracket, Id be tempted to road trip to Chicago for a touring band Im REALLY into seeing.
Have seen many concerts here. Always a great time. Could use more help in the Merch lines.
Its a beautiful venue and I really enjoyed seeing Amine. However, Im still annoyed from when I went up to the bartender when I first arrived and asked for water. He told me there was no water except for Liquid Death, which was $5. BUT, shout out to the staff member who saw me sitting on the floor, dehydrated as hell, and she came back with a water bottle for me. Youre a life saver!
This venue is absolutely stunning. We love a standing room only moment. The staff and security here are incredible. I have a kiddo with autism and he was able to enjoy the show how he wanted to and take his breaks. The show was also fantastic, but this mom will be back!
Had an absolute blast, the venue is smaller making the floor a bit cramped but it puts you closer to the bands. Liked that there were bars on both sides of the floor area too making it possible to grab a drink quickly. Will definitely be back!
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Staff is rude as hell. They took our wristbands after we spent $80 to go to the lounge because they saw us have a drink before the concert. Don’t go here.
Live Nation owns the venue so I feel its a conflict of interest. They overbook shows, charge ridiculous prices for drinks, have no re-entry or smoking area. To be fair, layout, sound, and lighting are good. Other than that its max profits for the minimal amount of comfort for concert attendees.
I have to repost since they deleted my comment. I’ve attended many concerts and by far this is the worst venue I have ever been too. I don’t mean when it comes to the looks, but how rude the staff is. Not only this, but the lack of detail of event schedule changes and had a ticket that apparently “could not scan” so we were sent to the box office. We were supposed to be able to be in the front row area and claim seats before general admission, but going to the box office and trying to figure this out gave us an average view, when we paid $200 more than those around us. I never want to attend here again. Not only this, but the staff told us we couldn’t attend the meet and greet when it said early arrival was by 4. We had to go through the regular line again and security even though we had VIP admission because apparently “it was closed” but we were there before it closed we just were sent to the box office. When I went to get a wristband, they made me go through the line again even though I was told I could get one inside after that whole process. Once I asked for one the employee, the same one that said VIP entrance was over with and made us go through a regular line, said “why didn’t you get one at the first time?” In a hostile manner. If you want to be harassed by staff, go here. They also aren’t very clear on their policies and do not send updates within Ticketmaster if a schedule change occurs, so you will end up wasting money. Lastly, the bathrooms are very uncleanly, I have never seen a public bathroom so nasty.
Despite not having the storied past of the Fillmore West in San Francisco or the Fillmore East in New York City, this modern gathering space is a generally top quality venue where the staff could not have been nicer. The facility was clean, exceptionally well maintained and it is located very close to public transit. Parking structures are near for motorists at very reasonable prices. Hard fast by Target Field in a gentrified area of Minneapolis called North Loop, site of various venues for food and drink.
The venue is amazing and you get close to your favorite band no matter where you are!!
Bought GA tickets for a show that I was just as excited to see the opener as I was for the main act. At the time of purchase, the whole floor was designated as GA. Fast forward to the day of the show, set times are released and the opening act has disappeared. I asked the act’s management what happened, and apparently they were never booked for the gig in the first place. Not only did they promote the show with an act that was never booked, but they changed the seating arrangements and sold seated tickets on the floor for almost twice the price as GA, moving GA to the far back of the room. Live Nation thinks they can succeed without rectifying, or even acknowledging, these obvious bait-and-switch issues, and they are unfortunately probably correct. Nothing like this has ever happened before for any of the thousands of concerts I’ve attended, so now I’m left wishing The Fillmore never came to town to take acts from better venues like First Ave that actually care about their attendees’ experience. Oh, and $16 of fees on a $70 ticket, when the ticketing service owns the venue?! Insane! I could not imagine a worse first impression from a venue, and I’m truly hoping for a swift demise for The Fillmore Minneapolis. The local music scene would be better off without them.
This venue is gorgeous. I don’t understand why and how there is Not a way for smokers to go outside for a cigarette. First Avenue has figured it out? Why hasn’t the Fillmore?
Ticket said show starts at 6:30 and I arrived just before 6:30 and learned the show had already started. I reached out twice to the venue manager and received no response. Make sure you check their social media accounts for set times cause they’ll change them on you, not notify you (even though they have your email) and then ignore you when you provide them feedback. Typical Live Nation attitude. Corporate greed and zero concern about the experience for concert goers.
I have been here multiple times over the last 2 years. Its a beautiful venue, with a great layout and excelent sound for music/bands. Staff is always well organized, professional and thoughtful. Though, I must give a huge shout out to Andrew! He was informative, dilegent, kind and patient. He deserves many cookies and a raise.
Nice enough... Not great acoustics. They have a very nice upstairs bar. Cool chandeliers. They over sold the show we went to... It was way too crowded...! People were smoking weed and cigarettes along with vaping inside all over and they did nothing about it. I nearly got crushed trying to buy a tee shirt! One bright spot.. Their restaurant next door is very good!
My first and probably last time going here. I understand the whole concern for safety, however the “clear bag policy” is ridiculous. You guys have security and metal detectors for a reason. I spent $50 on a concert ticket that I couldn’t even go to plus $40 in Uber’s to get there just to get turned away because I had a small Fanny pack to carry my things. I even did my research to make sure I could bring my Fanny pack in and was told whoever was running the Fillmore’s Facebook didn’t know what they’re talking about. Maybe you guys should honor your mistake. Also the bag policy you sent out in the email stated clear bags and small bags like a clutch. I really wanted to like/support this venue cause I love live music, but this left a very sour taste in my mouth.UPDATE 4/24:I still stand by this one star review. Gave this place another try. They let me bring in my fanny pack 😋 however, there was no smoking area. I don’t even smoke, but I like to get a breath of fresh air. Security just said to vape and smoke inside. What a joke, not everyone wants to be in a room filled with smoke. Also the drinks were so overpriced. Two mixed shots $37? Also not having water accessible unless you want to spend $10.This place is a joke, live nation is a joke.
Cant do any better than Brandi as far as sound or personality when choosing an opening artist but this place sounded awesome. One less star because the Fillmore turned quite a few people away from coat check due to being full (about a half hour after door open) and womens main floor bathroom was closed.
This is a venue that has its act together. Pun very much intended. Very clean, well organized, good sized. Well lit merch area, friendly staff and security. The drink prices are rather steep 😅, but, what do ya do right? I have zero complaints about my first time there. Absolutely coming back ❤️
Super cool venue, but there is absolutely no reason to be charging $16 for a domestic beer. My god, you can get an 18 pack for that price. It’s enjoyable to have a couple beers during a concert but when two beers are more than the ticket price, it puts a damper on the whole experience. Treat your patrons better and quit price gouging. No wonder you see a bunch of plastic one shooters on the ground throughout the show.
They really take care of their customers and they had free picture stations. It had great sound quality as well
A smaller venue but perfect for artists who have a huge following but otherwise would not be able to sell out an entire stadium. The lines can get pretty long if you come anytime after the doors open, so if you want to get to the front of the stage, head there maybe an hour early.I am impressed with how quickly the line moves — by quick I mean I was at the end of the line just pass N 5th Ave and I was in the building within 5 to 10 minutes — and I love that the venue is proactive with the staff checking IDs and providing wristbands outside as you wait!!Going through security and bag check was a breeze and for those complaining you should presume bag restricts have become standardized for all venues big or small BUT we are lucky enough that they do not have to be clear bags here.My only complain is some of the bartenders can be rude and some tend to ignore you and serve others that have approached after you leaving you to feel unvalued and disrespected so please work on this!!Can you start having box office hours? It would be nice to avoid paying “convenience fees” if I could just drive to the venue and buy my ticket at the counter.
Very nice Venue but they do not allow you to step outside for a smoke or else you have to pay for admission again, like I said its very nice on the inside but only one mens/ womens bathroom, is just a recipe for long lines or other accidents in the building, otherwise its very nice, the bartenders were above and beyond for service
The prices of tickets were okay, however, they really lacked details and everything was unclear. I spoke with multiple people at the concert that experienced the same confusion with tickets. The tickets were not obvious it was general admission and made us stand. We asked an employee to double check, and she led us to a section with bar chairs overlooking the area, and informed us it was first come first serve. 3 minutes later, a different woman came over telling us it was $85 additional per chair and told us to leave if we weren’t willing to upgrade. We got threatened with security to leave. They then removed the chairs and let people stand around in the same area for free. But why remove the chairs? There was also an option to spend an additional $150 per chair at a tiny table, which is ridiculously priced. The band and performance was amazing I just wish the ticket information had been clear and wish they provided what their staff members promised instead of backtracking and providing a sour taste in my mouth. Side note— the balcony had a giant pillar obstructing view.
By far the worst acoustics of any venue Ive been to. The instruments were blowing out our eardrums but the vocalist couldnt be heard much at all. Also it was so hot and stuffy 3 people had medical emergencies from fainting/lightheadedness and I myself felt woozy on there. Its pretty inside but thats about all it has going for it.
The venue is beautiful and really cool but there needs to be improvements. The merch line and the bar line were right in front of the main doors creating a huge bottleneck. There was no staff direction regarding the line, we moved to the line on the other side of the room and was through in like ten minutes.I asked about a chair because I couldnt stand for long and was told to find a lady with a tablet. Searched for the entire opener before I finally asked the first staff member again and was told there were three ladies with tablets, one just ended up walking by at that point but the only seats left were $175.if youre someone like me who cant do mosh pits or even the main floor because of medical risks it really sucks that there wasnt even a spot that I could see the stage live instead had to watch everything through the TV screen, which doesnt work well when I eventually have to sit on the floor because and I cant even see the TV anymore. With other venues Im not forced into very expensive VIP tickets for seating and usually can get a spot somewhere so I can truly enjoy the show without the risk of fainting. Its a beautiful venue but they will upcharge and arent very accommodating for invisible disabilities.
Very cool and unique venue. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would love to go back anytime.
Ive noticed the recent sound quality to be of a lower standard, especially close to the stage. I think you need to be significantly intoxicated to think music sounds good in the club, on the floor. Best sound was heard at the back of the club and in the mens restroom.
The Fillmore has excellent seating for disabled folks, which is often so hit and miss in music venues. I would recommend that they put a sign for ADA entry in the appropriate line outside, as well. Either way, I will return.
Great place to see a show. Nice and loud. Plenty of bars and good security. Slightly annoyed that when I asked about the price for the upper table area, I was given a ridiculous per-person amount. Later heard a friend got into the same area for a small fraction of what I was told. Still, it was a fun concert.
Honestly felt unsafe. They cram too many people in here. Someone needed medical help during ann intermission and EMTs couldn’t get through the GA crowd. They clearly don’t follow fire codes and are extremely understaffed. I go to tons of concerts and haven’t been to a venue that showed such disregard for safety. I’ll gladly go to other venues for concerts, will not be coming back to the Fillmore.
The venue is terrible, I hope to never go there again. It has draconian rules about bags, but no bag check. Nowhere to sit unless you pay big. The opening band sounded bad, maybe bands only sound good if the bands themselves know what do. It feels like one big advertisement for overpriced drinks. If you are in the Twin Cities, try to always go to First Avenue/Palace/Turf Club/Fine Line, or a bar that is independently owned. Fillmore is owned by Ticketmaster, and so is the Varsity..
Best venue I’ve ever been to!! Staff was very organized, helpful, nice! They handed out water to anyone who needed it during the concert. Lines went smoothly, security was awesome! I’ve been to 10+ concerts and been to 10+ different venue, this one was hands down one of the best venue ever!
My son attended a concert there. I picked him and his friends up. He said he liked the show a lot.
The security process left a lot to be desired. Doors do not open on time (almost 15 minutes later) and it is cold, I am freezing. I packed minimally because I know all venues are hyper sensitive what belongings are allowed, still make you take your jacket off and take everything out of your pockets and “inspect” it. The chairs force us all to be packed in like sardines, it is somewhat comfortable. I did enjoy the show, I wonder if my experience would be better if I spent the extra money on one of the balcony tables if/when I return.
Went to see Cannibal Corps Oct. 4th.The security check was overwhelming, felt like entering an airport to filter terrorists. The policies and security check-ins are also not displayed on the ticket information - when we entered the venue we had no idea that once you enter and then leave the venue, re-entry is not allowed (we only found out inside by intercom announcement!) - tickets are one time use.A heads-up before entry would have helped - we were forced to pay money to coat-check-in. The public needs to be aware of these policies and restrictions: imagine if someone on a medical inhaler forgets it in their vehicle & need to leave the venue to retrieve it; theyd forfeit the remainder of the concert and their purchases.Policies & ticketing system is horrid, I understand there is security concerns but there needs to be better ways to make it easy for people to enjoy themselves, people who were not allowed to go outside to smoke were stuck waiting for the next band performance in the lobby entry and sitting on the floor shaking, and fidgeting anxiously because of not being able to smoke their cigarettes outside - looked like a mad house. At the end of the last Concert I was up front at the stage & tried to get an autograph from Cannibal corps - the lead singer George Fisher was signing everyones stuff and my friend Donny who is Physically disabled was trying to get his signed to, I left for the bathroom, then returned, I needed to be beside him because he has trouble walking.A female security guard told me that I cant go back there, she said Mr. Fisher (lead singer) was not doing autographs anymore, this was a blatant lie (clearly in plain site he was still signing peoples shirts & souvenirs.) to prevent me from going back to the LINE I was already in, I pleaded with the female security guard telling her I was just there a moment ago and needed to at least get to my friend who was disabled then a big buff security guard came up to me & stood within 1 foot in front of me (beyond the six foot limit) and sized me up in a threatening position telling me to leave before I could even tell him the same thing I told the female security guard - he interrupted me telling me again to leave.I walked back to the front, waited for my friend as he helplessly walked (Limping) back with his bad legs and knee to where I was forced to stand and helplessly watch him struggle to get to me, I was infuriated, lost my auto graph and had to watch my friend struggle to walk all the way back to the front near the bar - no one else would help him.Im highly appalled at the security guards demeanor and conduct at the Fillmore: treated us like criminals in a jail! The Cherry on top was getting sick after going to the Fillmore, their lack of cleaning and maintenance appalled me: bathrooms and surfaces where not properly cleaned between intervals and on every hour, there was so many people there and it is common sense to clean, sanitize, and restock toiletries more often during concerts especially during these particular types of high energy band performances, I had used the restroom a few times and every time I went there, one of the paper towel dispensers was still empty (throughout the entire time of our stay) so people were forced to wait in line to use the 2nd one beside it.I will be sharing this information with all four bands that performed there at the Fillmore to reconsider performing at other venues in the twin cities (Saint Paul/ Minneapolis) than the Fillmore, I also represent a couple local bands in Minnesota, I will be speaking to Randy - Band leader and lead singer of Karmasutra to think twice before doing business with the Fillmore. If I could give a negative rating I would - This was my first time experience at the Fillmore and it likely will be my last, the only person that was nice to us was the coat check in lady at the Fillmore, she felt bad for our circumstances and helped us the best she could within her means.Future performing band members - please reconsider using other venues than the Fillmore!
Probably my worst venue experience of my life. It was so bad that we left before the band we actually came to see ever came on. Got there half an hour early and everyone was waiting outside in below freezing weather. They didn’t put the heaters out till we were about to finally go inside. Staff was running around very disorganized and clearly there were some planning and communication issues going on. They kept bringing people up to the doors and then turning them away and sending them back to the line. They went to all these extreme measures to make sure no weapons got in but the place was so packed by the time the music started that even without weapons I felt like something dangerous could happen at any moment. They had to have been past capacity. So no re-entry and there was only one exit and it was at the very back. Not a great combination considering we were crammed on the floor like sardines. The drinks were insanely expensive and the bar tenders were rude. There was no opening band listed but they had some awful techno duo play for a solid hour. I wasted way too much money on a show that I didn’t enjoy at all.
That mexican OT was very humble. Drinks were expensive but thats to be expected
Strange corporate art. Extreme price gouging on beer. Only three beers available, Bud Light, Coors Light, and an IPA. Odd layout. Eerie cattle entrance process. Soulless. Like seeing a concert in a McDonalds. Witnessed an irate bartender insulting a patron for accidentally asking the barback for two tallboys please. And not insult in a fun way either. This is the physical embodiment of Ticketmaster and LiveNations corporate ethos. Like a creepy plastic bag that sucks your blood. Ticketmaster owns this place. Keep that in mind. Ask yourself if its worth it before you decide to see an act here.Strange lighting decisions. Blasting concert goers with overhead lights between evey set. Homogenized interlude song selection.Go to First Avenue.Cannibal Corpse, Mayhem, Gorguts and Blood Incantation put on a hell of a show but Im reviewing the venue. Two stars because one star means something is a literal latrine and I suppose the Fillmore functions.
Concert was amazing! Venue was very nice and clean. Staff was exceptional. Helped to accommodate for my disabled daughter so she could even do a meet and greet with her favorite artist. Cant give it up enough to Alex and the rest of the security staff! Best concert ever! Thank you so much!
The venue is really pretty and has decent sound quality, even in the back; however, they were so disorganized at the show I saw here. Each website hs a different time and none explained which time were doors vs show. They also had no signs for will call so we had to get out of line to get our tickets. Really disappointed with the organization and if I ever have to see a show again I’ll definitely come as early as I possibly could.
Saw a concert here a couple days ago. Staff were outside very early and had already split VIP and GA lines... something I had never seen done so early! Usually VIP and GA lines are split a couple minutes before any planned start time. They were always willing to answer questions and were polite when doing so. Usually, staff seem annoyed to be asked questions. When they let VIP in, they made sure we stayed in our original line. After the VIP event was over, they made sure no one was cutting and we still stayed in our original line. Security handed out water throughout the whole show, too.The venue itself was beautiful, as well. My new fav venue.Only drawback is that drinks here are very expensive. Girl next to me said her white claw cost $17!? 😱
I went to a concert that was general admission and we got to the venue early. Bailey (one of the workers) did a phenomenal job keeping the lines in order at the start and she even brought us water bottles. This was the nicest ive ever seen a venue and then inside our bartender was amazing. She made us a couple drinks and one of which was a Green Tea. I couldnt recommend this location enough.
Have travelled to Minneapolis and seen concerts twice now at the Fillmore. The atmosphere/venue and sound is really nice but drinks are waaay overpriced. It ends up costing $30 on my Canadian credit card for 1 drink as they don’t take cash.
This venue is really beautiful! Went here for a non-music event and had a blast. The visual appeal is stellar but then their drink staff is amazing. They really deserve all the tips. Had to park on the street but next time will for sure take the blue/green line. Will for sure want to come back for more!
Loved this venue! Cleanest bathrooms and super nice staff! David the bartender was absolutely amazing! He treated my kid like a princess, gave her a free drink, and directed us to the best spot in the house to watch the show from. We had the best time ever!
Really nice venue, and I love seeing shows here...but very rude and unprofessional ticketing staff that hang up on you. I had called to inquire about buying tickets at the box office, hopefully avoiding those pesky service fees. I shared the ticket price shown online, and the woman responded that she wasnt seeing any tickets at that price. What she quoted as the box office ticket price was the same shown on Live Nation (with fees). She asked if I was interested in buying tickets, and as soon as I said no, she literally hung up on me!
The fact that you are charging $300.00 for Dethklok and Babymetal is upsurd. I was so looking forward to seeing them for the first time ever but no band and I repeat no band is worth $300.00. Yet when you look at ticket prices for the same concert in other states the cheapest are $33.00 and the highest they go are $88.00. Seriously how can you justify charging this much money.
This is a truly beautiful venue. I highly recommend seeing a show here. They acoustics were great and there is no bad seat in the place. It is a very intimate setting. The heaters outside were awesome. The security was cool. They definitely don’t play around when it comes to smoking or vaping in the venue which I actually appreciated. I will definitely be returning for more shows.
The most unprofessional place ever. Went to see Joshua bassett and bought fast lane passes for 25 a piece. We got there at about noon and waited in line in freezing cold weather so that we could be close to the stage. Well at about 6 they started asking people at the back of the line if they wanted to pay 25 dollars to go in now. It was literally ridiculous and everyone in the fast lane was furious and the dudes response was “well I don’t sell the tickets” but it was still YOUR venue that decided to make a few extra hundred bucks and screw all of us over that had already paid and waited in line all day. Will never see another show here again
Went to a YUNGBLUD show here. It was a good venue with really professional staff.Half of the fun of the show (other than the artists themselves) was their bartender David. Hes a great guy with a good sense of humor. We even made a point to stop by the bar on the way out to thank him for the great service and laughs throughout the night.
The good: Acoustics are pretty excellent. The staff was consistently pretty great - security was friendly and well-mannered which is a nice change of pace. Bar service was pretty quick even at a busy show. The space is well taken care of and rather nice. The bad: The will call window is outside the venue and around the corner. This isnt made immediately apparent, so if youre a rocket scientist like me you may find yourself all the way through security and into the ticket taking line before you realize. Which will mean leaving the venue and doing it all over again. Drinks are on the pricy side, but that shouldnt be a surprise.Things to know: No bags or purses allowed unless theyre clear or a tiny clutch. Inconvenient if you dont think of it ahead of time. Also, no re-entry so smokers youre going to be jonesing pretty hard by the end of a show.
I couldnt have asked for a better venue for live music. There was plenty of standing room and seating. The sound quality was good. The staff was good.
Came here for a sold out show that started at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. Arrive early to wait in line to the event. Came around 5 pm. Did not get into the building until around 8 pm! Took 2 hrs to get everyone in when we were in line early and there wasnt too many people in front of us. The organization of the lines were terrible. Management of the Security guards were disorganized and chaotic. Group of young security men stood around talking to each other and did not direct the fans/guests. They had green wrist band to give to 21+ but didnt even stated that. We had to go up to them and ask for it.When got in line early, it was organized by the fans. The fans written numbers on their hand to help people get in line while the security guard outside stood around. The fans/guest were telling the security guard how the line was organized. The fans were directing the large group. When asked security guard where the line start, they were ambiguous and said the line is somewhere over here. Not caring how dangerous it is to have over 1000+ people blocking the road. It was sad to see the fans organizing the line when its the securitys job to assist. The group of young security guards were no help. When it was 6 pm to check in, the line didnt even move. The security said theyre delayed. We did not start moving until around 6:45, then they started to let people in. People were standing outside in the cold for a slow process from security. It was a sold out show, but they only had 2 metal screening detector that night. Which made the process even slower. Terrible management and bad communication for fans/guest when waiting in line. Please update your security and need a more safe/organized line. It is a safety hazard not being able to organize a large crowd in downtown Minneapolis. For parking, theres not a lot to choose from since its downtown. Youll have to find parking lots a couple blocks away and walk 10-15 minutes.
This place was really set up for the audience experience. The sound was like no other venue Ive visited. Being a musician I was very impressed with the audio. The lighting and vibe was equally impressive. The overall experience was perfect for me. Staffing was awesome, bathrooms were clean and easy to access, the bars were spread out and perfectly staffed, never a wait. Theres also an excellent bar/restaurant attached with surprisingly tasty food. The ONLY thing I can think i could twist into a negative was the over the top food description on the menu. Listen. We just watched Sublime and were hungry.Go to this place. Tell them July Fighter needs to play there.
Its a really cool venue. Im not sure how I feel about the sound equipment and the acoustics of the actual venue. Id have to see some more bands first, then Ill edit this comment.
This venue is beautiful. The decor is phenomenal. You can tell a lot of time, money and thought went into this place. The staff was very efficient, and kind. It was a smooth process going through security. The wait staff seemed to be on it, getting drinks very. Drinks could of been a little more reasonable, but Ive seen worse at other venues. The sound was average. I will definately attend more shows here.
Beautiful establishment, great music, and awesome staff. Can’t wait to be back in town!
Staff was extremely lovely! They made sure the audience stayed hydrated, had good security, and were very accessible as I came to the show in my wheelchair! Loved it and would definitely see a show here again!
From the venue, itself, to the staff; this entertainment venue is remarkable.
Review is in regards to fan experiences and premium seating. Contact Danielle Ottman at the venue for all your premium seating and club level /VIP upgrades and corporate sales for box seating. She will take care of you. I am traveling solo for an upcoming show and Danielle helped accommodate my request seamlessly, even though I am not attending with a group.
It was okay. The setting is nice because its a smaller venue. However they do not have a patio and wont allow reentry for whatever reason, so you cant go out to smoke between sets which is insanely annoying. Probably wont be back for this reason.
Great concert venue with lots of popular bands etc.. to come check out. The servers and bartenders do a great job and work hard.
Event was oversold and way too crowded. Had to wait outside in a line that went out the doors, across the parking lot, unti the garage the next building over, and down 2 full floors just to get in. Barely any standing room and kept being bumped around and squished and couldnt even really see the stage well. Acoustics werent great either. Definitely the worst concert experience Ive had.
Such a great venue! The staff was amazing and so accommodating for me as a pumping momma! Tishawna was such an awesome bartender, so kind and fun! Thank you all so much for a great experience with HARDY!
Staff was nice and sound was good (if not a little quiet) but $13.50 for a pint of beer? Please.I paid $17 for a 24oz Modelo at Pier 17 in New York, and Im not a math person but I think this makes a beer at this soulless venue more expensive than the one with a ridiculous view of the Brooklyn Bridge.Seriously, the place was nearly full and the bartenders were just standing around because everybody said LOL nope to the beverage layout.Bag policy sucks if you arent driving. I hung my bike lock on my handlebars like a clown so I wouldnt have to mess around with the coat check which is probably like ten bucks
Sound seemed good. Show looked great. Beer was expensive, but you could get a lot of it. Was a fun time.Until the staff started dragging and shoving people out of the room. Almost everytime I went to the bathroom, to smoke, or to grab a drink I saw the security being rude and hostile to some poor concert attendee or another. They wanted you to know they were there, and they wanted you to know what would happen to you if you did something they didnt like. Its hard to get into the show when youre not sure if the staff is going to throw you out because they think you looked at them funny
This venue is gorgeous, has a great layout, and is extremely conveniently located near the lightrail. The stage is also higher up than many other local babies, which makes performances more accessable to shorter folks. However, they routinely have their volume up too loud, to the point where their sound system is noticeably distorted. They also have the smallest coat check Ive ever seen, which frequently leads to concert goers having to keep their winter coats on indoors for hours. Additionally, they really need to improve the messaging for their door and concert start times, because they are very difficult to find online.
I attended a concert at this venue and I was kicked out. As I was being taken out of the venue I asked why I was being kicked out. The security guard said “I don’t know.” and led me outside. When I was outside, I asked the people letting people in why they wouldn’t let me back in, and they said they didn’t know but that I couldn’t go back in. I was not trespassed, I paid for my ticket, I was not causing any issues, as I asked everyone involved what I did to be kicked out and no one had a reason. I have been at this venue multiple times in the past few months and I have never had any issues until yesterday. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
The staff was awesome here! While waiting outside they came out and made sure that everyone had tickets, or directed them where to go if they did not, checked IDs and then explained the security check to make sure everything went smoothly and I absolutely appreciated the line moving quick when it was so cold out!The inside is absolutely beautiful, the bathrooms are super clean and everything was great! Of course the drinks here are stupid expensive, but I think thats pretty typical.
Amazing concert venue with kind staff, clean bathrooms, and a great atmosphere thats intimate but spacious
The venue itself is OK, but $51 for 3 rail drinks is absurd and they dont accept cash which is also stupid. I feel bad for the bartenders and barracks. I cant imagine their tips are very good.
Awesome, new, small theater, built for music, and it shows!Great acoustics, well thought out walkways, great amenities. There isnt much for reserved seating, if I remember correctly when I ordered, the only option was VIP, which was fairly expensive, but from what I saw from the floor, the VIP section was also very well thought out, great visibility, seats+tables, and room to dance.I look forward to attending another show there.
We had a terrible experience here with the “security guards”. Not only that, but they had a poor management team as well. They don’t take accountability for their mistakes, not even a “we’re sorry WE made a mistake”.Be aware of these “security guards”. They will try to confiscate your license, and kick you out when you ask for your ID back. We had to go to the police officers to prove that my license was valid, since my DL’s were from out of state. The manager or whoever that came out wouldn’t let us see the show still because of our “reaction” to THEIR action. Were we frustrated yes, but were we acting crazy, absolutely not. So it’s pretty unfair to turn us away, when it was your staff/security guards that made a mistake. You guys need to hire a better security team who knows what they’re doing and to whoever is managing management, you guys also need to do better. This whole situation could of been handle differently had your security guards knew what they were doing, and if the management team would of taken the time to investigate the situation and just take accountability for their mistake.**Update**After reading multiple reviews on google, I can see that this place has A LOT of issues with security guards and poor staffing. Wow. I am not shocked nor surprised.
It was a fun place to see a show. The layout is kind of strange. The bar and merchandise lines are into the concert crowd so its hard to see where to get in line. Couldnt find a bathroom on first floor so I had to go to second floor. I dont know if theres an accessible bathroom. The HVAC could use some help. It was very hot inside and 32° outside
Really nice venue, but they oversold the show. It was very crowded. Drinks are way overpriced. $20 per drink is absolutely ridiculous. You’d think they’d be making some hand crafted cocktails for that.
What a great venue to see a concert. It was big enough that you dont feel packed in shoulder to shoulder, but yet it had a intimate feel to it. The sound was great and projected to the crowd. I never had a issue hearing the music along with the words of the song were easy to hear. I moved around alot and I am not a tall person and I never had a issue seeing the stage. Parking was a little tricky but if you get there early we did not have a issue and only had to walk about a block or less. I definitely will be attending in the future again!
We came here for The Revivalists Concert recently. Its a very impressive place. It is big, the acoustics areexcellent. It was easy to get in and also out after the concert and we could see the performance very well.
Way overpriced, stale interior, outrageously priced drinks, rude staff, and a very weak sound system make this my least favorite twin cities venue.
Really nice venue and sparkling clean. When we arrived late the coach check was sold out which Ive not had happen at other venues, so plan accordingly. The stage was highly visible from everywhere in the pit and the balcony and the sound quality was very good.
Well designed club, with comfortable seating, good traffic flow and sightlines. Typical layout with central dance floor in front of a stage, with seating and VIP areas in the surrounding balcony. Very thorough security. Nice breakout bars, too. I knocked a star off because it is priceeey! No stars off for Thievery Corporation, who were magnificent! Ive been thick with the Thieves for years, but had no idea they had such a great show, primarily due to their exceptional musicianship. Rob Meyers (guitar/sitar) is on another level. If you get a chance to steal away and see the Thieves, you wont regret it!
Unlike a lot of open area venues, this didnt feel like it was packed to the brim just to fit more bodies. Further, their tap selection is second to none in regards to venues. Also unless theres a Twins game its one of the few venues you could find street parking a couple blocks away. Definitely would see a show here again.
It was my first time attending this venue tonight, and my initial thought was that the staff was rude. Initially, people attend concert venues for an overall experience with the excitement to see one of their favorite artists perform. All I can say is that the staff at this venue ruined my experience. After the concert, I was speaking with an actual police officer while finishing my drink and waiting for my Uber that was 10 minutes away. One of the employees did not agree and chose to use violent tactics of pushing/shoving, calling names, and using unacceptable force to shove me out the door in the negative degree weather. The employees have no respect. All I can explain is to wish yourself luck if you don’t have a ride preplanned. I am disappointed in my experience at this venue and now know not to attend this location again.
By far the nicest and most professionally ran venue Ive been to. The whole building was clean and sound was great. Staff was abundant and all incredibly nice. They also understand being reasonable and decent human beings and dont charge for water and offer free ear plugs for those in need.
This is a marketing Venue, not a music venue. When you first enter you see a neat backlit sign for the Fillmore but its tagged at the bottom with Affinity Plus so you know who paid for it, which cheapens it. After the show we attended, we were sent a survey asking about our experience. It asked questions about which promotions and product placement we noticed while we were there and if we would be more or less likely to buy brands knowing they were attached to the Fillmore. Disgusting. When you enter the venue there is a place to buy beverages right inside the door. While convenient for the thirsty, this causes a bottleneck for traffic in and out, making it difficult to not only get in and out of the venue but also to get to the bathrooms which are located in the vestibule. They charge for water and its $5. A bud light and a rail gin and tonic cost 23$ before the tip. The staff was either rude or aloof. There are no trashcans anywhere so when you finish a beverage you have to take it to the bar which wouldnt be a problem except that the bartenders look at you like youve clubbed a baby seal every time you bring them an empty. The acoustics were terrible. We moved all over trying different spots and the sound was dead and muddled everywhere we stood. Literally could not understand the lyrics to songs we know. For smokers or people who like to take a little break from the sensory overload, there is no re-entry and no patio to exit. When the twin cities are home to venues with such heart, this place is a stain on the music scenes reputation. Unfortunately I have tickets to another show at the Fillmore in a month. The place was so terrible that I am reselling the tickets at a 45$ loss and if they dont sell, Ill be taking a $155 loss because that will be less painful than having to endure another show at the Fillmore.
Doors opened extremely late on a very cold night, and security theater and poor staffing led to further insanity. Additionally, I purchased a meet and greet ticket and was immediately forced out into the cold by staff even with my Uber only 5 minutes awayNot a venue Id choose in the future.
Great venue, little over packed though.
Great place to see a live show. Acoustics were great. The stage is high enough as to where you can see it easily no matter where you stand. Staff was friendly and thanked me for coming as I was leaving.
BETTER HAVE A RIDE PLANNED AFTER YOU ATTEND THE CONCERT! The employees make sure to kick everyone out with an unforeseen amount of force. I attended this concert venue for the first time and have never experienced the amount of force they push people out the door. I appreciate ever concert experience, but I know I will never attend this concert venue again because of the disrespect from the employees.
It was a great venue nestled away in a great spot with 2- breweries within a hop skip and jump for before and after if you feel so inclined. The sound was great for our concert! Will come back again soon!
Cons:The venue has no smoking area such as a roof area or side ally. It also does not allow you to come back in once you leave. So if you are a smoker or vaper plan accordingly. While trying to find out the answer to if there was some where we could smoke the staff kinda sent us on a wild goose chase. No one knew for sure and kept sending us to different people before we finally got an answer.Drink prices are a little higher than Id expected from a venue like this. But not too outrageous.Pros:Great quick service at the bar. The space is pretty and the floors are not super hard so if you fall in a mosh put its not a night ender.
I think the venue did great for opening night with Brandi! Great venue, sound was awesome. Price for food a little high for what I got (10 buck chicken tenders, very small amount) may have to splurge for balcony next time as no where to rest on main floor. Plan to go back
