Gotham Citi Cafe

This place was absolutely NOT worth the nearly 3 hour line. We went for Latin night, expecting to hear a couple of Hispanic songs por lo menos, and the entire time we were there, we heard no Latin music AT ALL. On top of that, we couldnt even get a single drink because it was so packed that we could barely move. Never again. A complete waste of 13 bucks.

I have been going to Gotham since I was 18. Honestly last year Gotham was always the place my friends and I would go to get turnt and it would never let us down. However, coming here this year I notice it’s a bit of a hostile environment. Obviously it’s going to happen where you’ll get pushed around, but there’s been multiple times my friends and I have gotten LITERALLY pushed to the ground. There has been multiple occurrences where my friends have almost gotten into fist fights with men because they don’t take no for an answer. This wasn’t common last year, so I assume this year there has been a HUGE shift in the crowd of people who come here. Definetly not the same people. Music is the same every weekend and it gets kinda boring at times but my main point here is to be aware that people are very pushy and hostile and rude here, and it may just not be worth your money and the wait in line. :/

This is NOT a gay bar! The LGBTQ+ community is no longer welcome here and it’s evident in how the bar staff and patrons treat queer people in this space— even on Saturday nights when there’s drag performances happening. It’s truly unfortunate that the quality of Gotham has gone so downhill so fast in the last few years.

They like stealing peoples personal items and not returning it! this place is a joke and needs to be shutdown🤣 dont come here if u dont want staff stealing your things

They have great taste of music the people there are great the bartenders are very nice

They will add a tip without consent! Please keep receipts ! I would not recommend this establishment. Scam! Don’t check your coats either !

Gay night on saturdays is the best!! amazing drag show 1$ drinks 9-11 and it’s not as crowded as fridays

They li about drinks being 1$ for Friday night events they play Latino music half the time and it’s dirty! They charge extra when drunk

Please beware of bartender they add more tip w/o permission. KEEP RECEIPT!! I tipped IN cash. My bill was $56.74 they processed for $82.50 VERY SHADY

Usually if my friends and I decide to go out on a Friday/Saturday night, we go to Gotham because that’s what we know. This Saturday we decided to go give Rize a try, just to try something new. Big mistake. It was DIRTY, and filled with a bunch of people who don’t care about anyone else. Couldn’t enjoy myself because I was too busy worried about being pushed and shoved the whole time by overbearing men. This made me realize how amazing Gotham is. After a couple hours of going through this legitimate torture at Rize we decided we would go to Gotham. As soon as I walked in I felt so much more safe and comfortable. The bouncers, bartenders, and staff are just the best and never ever give a problem. Always our top place to go to have a good time, and definitely the best 18+ spot in new haven!!!!

Good club, good music! They have two separate rooms with different music playing, kinda small but fun! I read comments before posting this one and I have to say that as I walked through the crowd nudging ppl out of my way I didnt even get a dirty look so I will definitely go back.

This low-life club ran by low-life people shouldnt deserve to be open. Last night I went to have some innocent fun with friends for my best friends birthday. Normally I dont do anything like this. Im not a club type of girl. As I was walking through the small area where all of the people were dancing, I slightly nudged a girl as I passed and she started to choke me. Almost immediately after pushing her off, I was grabbed by security and thrown out while the girl who attacked me got to stay in. This place is complete trash and anyone who goes there supports this.

How the mighty have fallen. I used to frequent this establishment in the early 2000s and it was amazing. This was my favorite weekend spot and now its a horrible mess full of underage children, rude disrespectful staff and a bartender that doesnt care about serving children. Never again!

So Im actually here as I write this. The bartender at least one big boss in general wouldnt give a cup of water thats fine whatever, make your money. BUT he took the cup of ice I had and threw it away as I said no no no. Like I asked for water he said no waited and then as I grabbed my cup (which had just ICE) because I eat the ice to cool my body down before I overheat and he threw it away. What made itr worse was trhat he thought this was a joke and wouldnt give me a new cup of at least ice. Like dude. Its ice. Congrats Gotham, lost a long time customer because one staff member decided to basically dehydrate me.

This place is disgusting, the drinks were gross and it was beyond hot inside. Didn’t even need to move to start sweating. Rize is a lot better

Was lied too about it not being gay night. Took our money and never received an apology.

There security will follow several streets and jump you without any warning. Watched them run up on someone punch em out wothout warning

I love it I go here whenever I get the chance very exciting and great music !

Place is trash. Workers are trash. People inside were looking for fights. Dont waste paying your cover here its not worth it

It is a nightclub. But not up to the par of mainstreamed nightclub. Needs more mainstreaming.

Staff are a bunch of idiots and the owner is a real jerk. Go somewhere else, place sucks
