Limited menu but good pizza and great music. Try the Mediterranean style pizza, tasty with a crispy crust. It was kind of dead at 5pm but started picking up after 6pm. Also Frenchman st is a smaller, cleaner and safer alternative to Bourbon st. Did not like the bathroom attendant standing near by when I was trying to do my business. Bathroom is supposed to be a private place.
Small jazz club. I was here on a Tuesday night and there was a constant flow in and out of people. There was a 7 piece band playing lots of funky jazz numbers. Limited spots to sit but as people come and go, you can get a table. Small outdoor patio. Slightly away from the bussle of Bourbon St. Crowd was 30 to 60 years old so mostly people looking for good music and drinks. If you want the 20s party time, head to bourbon st. If you want a laid back atmosphere, head here. There are a few other similar clubs in the area with similar atmosphere.
Charbroiled happy hour oysters were amazing! Music was great every time we were there. Bartenders very friendly!
Great live music venue. The band and Ms. Lisa B. were pure entertainment - they definitely know how to bring the house down!
Great bands in a small venue. Drinks are priced higher than other bars near by. Staff were all nice.
Lyndsey Smith and her band were EVERYTHING! Great service all around. The bartenders are on point. If you’re looking to dance and have fabulous time, this is the spot!
We visited for drinks and live music on a Thursday evening. The band was pretty good, and definitely worked to engage the audience. Not much of a crowd throughout the hour or so we were there, but it did begin to fill up. The first table we went to sit at had not been cleaned (pieces of food all over it), but we found a different one that was clean.
If you don’t like the 20s crowd and drunks on Bourbon street then check out places like this one — this is a great place to see local musicians and more traditional N.O. jazz; typically from 1 PM through 11 PM (May 2021). They are serving food. There’s inside and outside tables, full bar (somewhat limited spirits), about 6 beers on draft and more in bottles; clean bathrooms and more modern than the typical French Quarter establishments.
Great music and affordable drinks! The outdoor patio is really nice. They have a decent size dance floor.
I loved the place great vibes. The bartender was the nicest person of my day. I highly recommend this place for music and 🔥 drinks
Best live music venue on Frenchman St. Drinks are great and Lyndsey Smith was the host and that made the night memorable.
Had a great time celebrating my birthday here. Piano Man G and the band did a great job with the live music he played every genre of music. The drinks were good. And theres room to dance and seats to sit if you want to sit down. Definitely recommend!
Great band the night we were there. We were with a large group and sat in the outside courtyard. Could hear the band fine. All self serve drinks and food. Bartender was fast, but food delivery slow. We think they were having a staff shortage. Didnt matter....had a great evening. Highly recommend.
Great live music on FrenchStreet. Also the band was BLACK! ✊🏾
Love just coming into this place, getting a drink and listening to great music. Not as small as some venues in NOLA, but not so large as to be just a massive party house. Good times.
Please keep in mind that this place is CASH ONLY. Their drinks are amazing! We ordered a Hurricane and Moscow Mule. Both of them were really good. Probably the best Hurricane we had so far. The bartender made them in front of you, not pre-made like some bars. If you like live music, definitely stop by this place to check out.
The charboiled oysters here are to die for and they have a really great, specific brand of ginger beer that is now my favourite. The music was beautiful and the staff were very friendly!
So me and my partner went here for New Years because I come here all the time. We went upstairs and decided to get a drink from the bar. There was a Caucasian bartender with red hair that was just skipping over the black people. When she served us she did have an attitude. It got to the point that a black woman got mad at her and cussed her out from skipping us. And that’s when she stated she’s not serving any of us. And she left. I literally did nothing to her but overall we still got our drinks. But I have never experienced anything like this at 3090 degrees and I’m a regular . She needs to be fired.
I didnt have denied entry to a bar for removing a mans hand from my unconsenting friends cleavage on my 2024 bingo card, but here we are.In all seriousness, I dont write negative reviews. Mainly because one bad customer service experience rarely reflects the integrity of an institution. That said, womens safety (especially during Mardi Gras season) is another matter. If youre not training your bouncers to be vigilant when it comes to how men touch women they dont know, thats a problem on a larger scale. In this case, a man reached into my friends shirt as we were getting our IDs checked. (He had seen something poking out of her bra and saw it appropriate to - without warning or asking for permission - *diligently* work it back in.) I reacted instinctively and quickly and quietly removed his hand, stood between them, and silently waited for the bouncer to tell the man to move along. Instead, he told us that we needed to leave.I find it difficult to imagine that he would have kicked us out if I were a man saying, Hey, dont put your hand down my girlfriends shirt. None of us could piece together why we were asked to leave at all, except it looked like the bouncer knew the man personally. If I ever see a strange mans hand on my friends chest without her permission, Ill remove it. And if it does happen again, I hope it happens in front of security with better judgment.
Super weird experience in the bathroom. Two dudes just watching me pee, I guess they were bathroom attendants but a really small space and weird vibe.
It was fine. The happy hour menu had no nice cocktails apart from really basic stuff like rum and coke and a weird guy was handing hand soap and tissue in the washroom.
The platter with fried oysters, catfish, and shrimp with a side of fries was excellent. The fries were so good that we didnt even need ketchup.
This place is great. It was my first time in New Orleans and I had lots of - good - expectations. But my first 2 days were super disappointed, spent along Bourbon street and surroundings in French quarter.I was about to shorten my trip and just fly out.But I decided to walk a little further, going out of the crazy crowds and found Frenchmen St.The whole street has a much better atmosphere.I was just attached to 30/-90 by the fabulous music going on inside with regular people enjoying on a super nice afternoon.Service is very good, drinks well executed, food limited options but very well done. And the music… definitely recommend the place. It saved my perspective of New Orleans, from a never go back city to a return one. Thanks 30/-90 for the good work.
Didnt order food but listened to the band and enjoyed the music.
Came here on New Year’s Eve, which may have impacted service. Ordered 3 well whiskey/ginger ales from a clearly drunk male bartender in a sparkly onesie. We were over charged $6 over the normal mixed drink price ($27 instead of $21), and the ginger ale syrup was out so we got soda. Had to complain to a more competent bartender with a ‘tude, who complained we should deal with aforementioned drunk bartender instead of her. In short: sloppy, uncoordinated service. Better places to go on Frenchman.
We stopped in because the band playing was amazing. The drinks were good at a reasonable price. The vibe of the music and the other patrons were top notch.I highly recommend 30°/-90° as a very good hang out. We will be back.
We came on a Sunday evening and this place had no cover, a great band playing, great vibe, plenty of tables available but also a bunch of stools in the event it was packed. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and way cleaner than some of the other places nearby, and to top it off their women’s restroom has plenty of stalls and doesn’t smell like urine.
Awful service. Took over and hour for fries and fried green tomatoes. The runner was absolutely no help. Food was given to other tables that came way after us. Completely unacceptable for a not busy Monday night. We were told they were backed up but the number of people that came in after us that were served before us was ridiculous. We were repeatedly told there was just a back up. But our food came cold finally after and hour and a half.
Great place for music and dancing! Fun atmosphere, no cover charge; however they do check ID’s which I think is cool. Even if you are a Vintage Girl like me, they require ID. Nice friendly staff, did not try food or drinks. Patrons are encouraged to give money to the band, which I did. Frenchman Street is like the quieter side of Bourbon street. Still a lot of fun, excitement and plenty to see. It’s just a bit toned down. The band was exceptional! Lindsey Smith, (think Tina Turner and Laretha Franklin all rolled up into one power house voice) and Joe V from American Idol. Joe has star quality too. The band was super. Not sure if they had a separate band name or not. Played a great variety of Classic Rock to the latest songs that college kids and young adults enjoy. I encourage you to check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
The bartenders here are racist. I was standing in front a white lady no one else around and she deliberately ignored me. The bands that perform here are mostly black and they are wonderful. I do not know what is wrong with the service at this place.
Happy hour 5-7pm is amazing!! 75c oysters are so fresh and delicious. Great service, good covers band. Also yummy hand cut fries. Loved it!
Music was amazing! The food and service were terrible so that’s how we get to 2 stars. The French fries were the worst I’ve ever had in my life. It was just fried grease, I’m not even sure a potato was involved in the making. And then they were cold. So after asking for a new order, it came out worse, which who knew that could be possible. Again, music was amazing!! Go for the music, just don’t go hungry.
My first night in Nola. Piano man G and the band kept the party going 4 hours nonstop!!! I had a ball. Felt like an old school party til 2 am. Thanks for the experience. Chill,Stan,Ty and G aint no party like an old school party....BTW no cover charge!!
Went there solo this evening and cant say enough positive things about the bartenders. I didnt catch their names, but both women were phenomenal. I dont drink but wanted to blend in while listening to the music, so the first bartender threw together a mix of fruit juices that ended up being awesome. I have autism, so sometimes I get overwhelmed by sensory input such as loud noise, crowded spaces, and bright lights. When I could feel myself getting overstimulated I relayed my situation to the second bartender and asked if there was another way out. This woman was an absolute queen in her support and understanding. She led me to an outside area where I could sit and listen to the band with my headphones on without people staring as I collected myself. I got an awesome hug and she even asked first, which many neurodiverse people appreciate. I was so disappointed in myself for not being able to have a normal night out but encountering such compassion made it worth it. I feel better knowing that theyre looking out for us. The band was awesome as well.
If the first night in New Orleans makes me wanna live here this is the best place to start
The show was great, we happened to be there for a Luscious Duchess show and they were great. The bassist and drummer, they were all fantastic. The drinks were great. We didnt order any food, but the venue itself was awesome, very spacious. Two floors (no live music upstairs though), a balcony, and and outdoor space downstairs as well. Really enjoyed ourselves!
Everything was amazing. Singer lady was the best
Atmosphere and music great! Food and service are TERRIBLE! Waited 1 hour for a pizza that tasted like soap
I went to this club for the second time on 9/2. Around 9:20 ish PM when I bumped into a drink that was on a table and it spilled, a drunk older man came up to me while I was seated and he grabbed my arm in anger. He obviously looked at me and thought I would be an easy target to victimize since I was a black woman sitting alone. He found real quickly that I was not. I got up and pushed him back hard and told him not to ever grab me. He kept telling me to shut up in response, further disrespecting me. I told him again do not ever touch me again. I told the security guard what he did to me, and he asked them what happened and because his people said I was the problem, the security guard threw me out. He took their word and dismissed what I told him they did to me. He believed them that I was the problem when I wasn’t bothering anyone. I don’t know if he has an issue with black women. The people did not even defend me or stand up for me either. They let the man grab me and had a problem with me because I accidentally bumped into a drink on the table and stood up to him. They thought I shouldve been violated for that. They are bad people. I talked to the manager and all of them basically told me I lied about being grabbed. There’s security cameras that show he grabbed me while I was seated and not bothering anyone. I got grabbed for accidently bumping into a drink, and those people and the security guard made ME the bad guy and did not stand up for me when he grabbed me. They called me a liar. I dont know if it is because Im a black woman. I am not lying. Do not go to this club if you’re a single woman. If you get attacked physically by a man, the security guard and the manager will tell you you’re lying and kick you out. And some of the people who attend this place are disgusting people too to take up for men who behave in that way, so watch the people who go to this club too. This is not a safe place for a single woman.
Absolutely horrendous. We waited over an hour for the group we came to see to come on and were shortly kicked off the table we had just obtained halfway back from the stage. No warning whatsoever. Love the artists that were playing but staff outside of the bartender was so rude. We were more or less kicked out as there was no room other than the back outer patio. Will never be returning again. Unfortunate as the bartender was excellent as was the music. Spent well over $150 in food and drinks.
We went to this bar as a bachelorette party and they were amazing! They accommodate a space for us immediately when we came in. They had amazing music and their drinks were great! This area is an AMAZING alternative to Bourbon street (much more laid back) and completely changed my opinion on New Orleans.
This may be my new favorite Frenchman St. joint....killer music, great drinks, also kept very clean. Theres also a groovy outdoor courtyard. We did not eat, but the bar food looked awesome. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere for great live music.
The music was good. Bar service was good. The bathroom attendant was unnecessary and completely out of place in this casual bar. Made us want to leave.
This is a cool spot. They have a rotating collection of bands downstairs and a completely different dj/dance vibe upstairs. You can smoke in the balcony or in the courtyard and the people watching from the balcony is an entertainment all its own. I havent eaten there but the food downstairs looks pretty solid. The bartenders are solid too. You might have to wait a little, especially while the city is still adjusting to going 0-100 from quarantine, but its just a drink yall. Enjoy the jams and theyll have you in a jiffy.
Was drawn in by the awesome music (Samantha Pearl and her band). The food and drinks were great - reasonably priced BUT the service was atrocious! The bartender was trying to come out and cover but the waitress on the floor clearly did not want to be working. She didnt greet new customers - she let them sit for almost 10 mins (after they waited and finally sat themselves) and focused on her phone and clearing empty tables. Likely just this particular server....that said, I would recommend coming back for the food, drink and awesome music!
BEST LIVE MUSIC ON FRENCHMAN! They really know how to work a crowd and play off our energy. Of course we rolled up with a group of like 25 people so it was always going to be a good time, but they made the experience. Drinks were good and fair for price! Bathrooms are SUPER clean which is so refreshing for a late night out in NOLA!
We stopped in on Friday night because we heard the live music from the street and there was no cover! The place was decently big, but there were only a few tables, so stood in the back and got drinks from the bar. I ordered the aviation cocktail and was impressed how carefully the bar tender crafted it despite a busy bar. It was well balanced, well made, and delicious! I didnt get the name of the band, but they were high energy and fun.
This place is great! We went on a Friday night and the band played, sang and rocked it, literally ALL NIGHT! The music was great, the energy was infectious and lively! The band just kept playing and people just kept drinking and having a great time. I highly recommend visiting when in New Orleans.
Great band with Motown music. The beer they suggested was a very good one at really glad I went.
Fun little place. Food was pretty good, live music was great. They do need a sign at the door stating you can just sit at a table, assuming there is one available. Not a ton of seating. Would definitely go back though!
Stopped by for some after dinner music and drinks. It was before 9pm so the upstairs wasntopen yet but we listened to a great blues band and enjoyed a drink. Prices were reasonable, service was a bit slow for how busy it wasnt but it started to fill up shortly after we arrived.Unlike some of the music venues on Frenchman, this one was open before 8pm. The seating is limited and most of the tables are high tops. Overall Id say its worth checking out if youre in the area.
Great music! The service was quick and the bartender was definitely skilled at her job. The charbroiled oysters were delicious. I also ordered the caprese salad...yummy.Second visit this week. Had to get the orders again. Weve tried them everywhere weve gone and we both agree, these are the best!
2nd trip to city, this place STILL has the best raw oysters! They were big, plump & fresh! Cant wait to come back again! The gal on stage has serious pipes! She sings her heart out. WOW!!
Had a great time listening to DJ play old school mixed pretty impressively in his set. I could tell hes an 80s baby from his music but the young crowd was feeling it and everyone was dancing and having fun. I appreciated they were considerate to provide unlimited cold water and plastic cups since it was a hot night. No cover charge. Its a cool venue with different music upstairs and downstairs. I love a club with a balcony and they also had an outdoor courtyard downstairs with seatng. Free live music... cool atmosphere in the heart of the quarter. I look forward to returning!
Very fun. Great happy hour. Great band. Delicious and strong drinks! The only thing was the oysters tasted like they had been sitting out for a little while, but were still edible.
This is a gem on Frenchman Street. Live music downstairs and a great nightclub upstairs. Love the look of the venue and space. It gives off a very upscale vibe. I went on a Thursday night and watched the band Raw Deal. I enjoyed them! There was only one bartender downstairs and there was a wait for me to order my drink. The bartender was very kind so I didnt mind waiting. I do plan on returning back to this spot when Im in NOLA again.
This place is awesome! Random musicians piled onto the stage and absolutely destroyed it. At one point, my friend turned to me and said Bro, I feel like they know every song ever. The bar staff is funny and quick to get you a drink. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here.
OH NO YOU STOPPED MAKING A VEGAN PIZZA? now the only solid option for vegan food on Frenchmen is Dat Dog. One of our favorite music venues but please bring back you vegan option. Pretty Please!!!!
Great music, great food, friendly staff. However, it was hotter inside than it was outside, which is impressive in June. And the seating was the most uncomfortable Ive encountered in a long time- tiny little wobbly stools.
$2.5 Happy Hour Drinks and awesome live jazz band. Sound quality is amazing with great ambiance & seating. Absolutely a must-stop on Frenchmen Street which has a few live jazz clubs. We went here 2 days in a row and thoroughly enjoyed the live music.
So I went to a few Jazz clubs around here. This is where I had the best time, the experience was intimate and amazing, we felt a connection to the band. Decided to come back the next day and it didnt dissappoint. We are talking about sunday/monday here, I can only think its even better on the weekends.
Had a great time here. Staff were very friendly and prompt. The food was inexpensive but quality was great. I loved the Mac and cheese balls, and the pizza. The buffalo wings looked great too. Ive had better bruschetta. The band Monday night was drawing in people from the outside. They were very good. Frenchmen Street is the place to go for great food and an upper class atmosphere of incredible music and fun. Not the craziness of bourbon street.
This place is so much fun and was recommended by a local! If you are looking for a break from Bourbon st. I recommend heading to Frenchmen st. and heading to this place! They have live music downstairs and a whole different vibe (dj/dance music) balcony upstairs, we would come again!
The atmosphere was amazing!! They receive an A+ on taking proper precautions for COVID-19. They have two levels for entertainment. The first floor is catered to Jazz enthusiasts, and the second floor is hip hop/club scene. Its free to enter. Staff and security were polite and helpful!! We were out of towners, but felt like we were right @ home. 30/-90 ROCKS!!!
Nice atmosphere and my wife and I heard a song we liked and jumped to the dance floor. No admission but one drink required. The song was over in two minutes and the band packed up to make way for the next group. We got a shot each of makers Mark Bourbon in a plastic cup and headed down the street with the rest of our party. Every storefront has great food and music on Frenchmans St. nothing quite like it.
Limited menu and somehow they were out of some items before 7:00 on a quiet night? Staff a bit indifferent and the guy clearing the tables picked up my half full bottle of water and threw it out and then asked if we wanted the saltines??
This is where the party is at. This club is relatively new. Its clean and well-lit. Drinks are a little high compared to other bars but theres no cover. The upstairs has great DJs and a lot of happy, dancing people. Its a great vibe and a lot of fun.
Band was good. We sat outside in the patio area so bartender told us if we want food order thru the bar. We went back to the bar, were than told a waitress will come to us. Waited 15 minutes for a no show. Decided to leave and get food.We later decided to go back for the band and patio seating. Suddenly theres a bouncer that for some reason doesnt ask how many in a group? Myself and the other girl in the group walked in and he stopped the men in our group outside. So I waited by the door for them and than he got mad and told us to go further inside .... this is really poor practice, you shouldnt separate females from their group, this is how bad things happen to tourist that arent careful. Wouldnt recommend whatsoever.
I have been here twice while in New Orleans. They had great music both times. Its not as tacky as Bourbon street. Definitely feels more local and the bartenders are all very pleasant. Go there and have a great time!
Good, stout drinks, but I could have found a similar brunch menu at McDonalds. The band was ok and the atmosphere was pleasant. Not the best bar in this area, but a site better than the touristy spots along Bourbon and Decatur. Decent service; bartender was kind.
Spent New Years Eve there. Bartenders were generous with their pours. Fast getting us drinks too, despite the fact that the place was PACKED. The band was ass-kickin that night. Good place, would happily return. Very much appreciated the lack of cover charge.
The food is good and prices reasonable. Better jambalaya and pizza can be found elsewhere in the French Quarter. Youll need the large jambalaya to feed one person but the pizza can feed two, maybe three people, if they are light eaters. This place is out of the fray and away from Bourbon street shenanigans. The real draw here is the live local and traditional jazz music. The atmosphere and jazz make the restaurant worth visiting.
Excellent music and great food to go with it. We came in a Monday and the house band was really good. The po-boys were excellent and highly recommended. Will definitely come back on my next trip.
This place was fun. No cover. Easy to access the bar and the live music was a blast. The drinks here were very well priced.
A pretty new spot on Frenchmen Street... the building doesnt even show up on Google Maps yet! Good pizza, oysters and drinks served by a very friendly staff.Definitely plan to do some foot tapping here. I love any band with a tuba. At 10 pm another band comes on... louder, more up tempo and very good. Theres no feeling they want you to leave so they can turn the table. A great spot to grab a drink or munch... and rest you tired feet after a day of walking the City!
Live music. The bands were excellent. Love the security staff. A great mix of generations and people
Music was good, food was okay. However the bathrooms had an attendant which blocked one of the two sinks. It made the small bathrooms even more crowded, and frankly I dont want to be watched while I pee.We had an issue where we were charged for another tables food in addition to our own. It was resolved, but it was a hassle.
My family and I had an amazing time here! The band was great and let my dad come up and play bass with them on stage. Lots of fun, great music, good drinks, great people. All around great vibe.
Great place with great music but the kitchen was closed.
Service is usually quite good and so is the music. If a musician socks they quickly give them the boot on the open mic night, as was done to a rude and awful female rapper from New York who blamed other musicians and complained she couldnt find the beat because of them. That was really funny. Ive met some interesting people here and a couple of scumbags. Drinks are expensive but its that sort of place and theres no cover. Guests seem to like the place.
The live bands were very good and so talented! As for the bar itself however there are limited chairs, there are no gluten free food options other than garden salad - and nothing can be made gluten free apparently - and the waiter was hard to find.
So I left my cap in the bar on an evening, went back the next day to see if it had been handed in and the barman said oh yeah, I saw that behind the bar, they threw it in the trash. Dont leave your stuff in this bar, itll end up in the bin.
As a local, I love what this place offers to Frenchman St. Downstairs is one flavor of local music, and upstairs youre getting a really cool dance club. Food isnt bad, either! And the other day we stopped in and found out we were the FIRST customers to come back in lieu of Covid 19. They were so professional, and made us feel safe and at home. Stop in and enjoy this establishment. You wont regret it!
Four stars as the music is decent, albeit we were there early. Nachos and pizza were average fare with table service below average for a relatively slow night. Rating based in food and service only... but visiting here should be for the music first.
My first time in New Orleans and wanted to try a nice restaurant for food and jazz music. I had the rudest waitress....I had to ask her could I order. Then I ordered shrimp and grits which was soupy so i sent it back and then she closed out my bill and said have a nice night. We felt like we were not welcomed there from the time we sat down. Loved the music but would never return or recommend this place.
Good drinks, their ranch fries were delicious. Good band. It’s a 15+min walk from bourbon street but totally worth it. Keep cash handy for the bands.
Awesome atmosphere! Great place to celebrate and listen to the best live music New Orleans has to offer. Jazz, blues, rock, fusion, you name it! Theres a great patio and upstairs as well. Gotta love 30/90!
Music was great, so if youre coming here for it, dont hesitate. However the coctails are horrible. First I ordered whiskey sour, which had nothing in common with its name, neither whiskey nor sour. I gave them a second chance though and ordered hurricane, which tasted pretty much like fruit juice. Did the bartender forget to pour alcohol in it?
$14 for one beer is insane even by NOLA standards.
Great atmosphere. Music was excellent. The sound was impeccable with an awesome band. Their oyster happy hour is wonderful.@dankeatscolorado
We had such a great time here on our visit in Jan 2018. We just happened in while on a walk. Looking forward to being able to travel again post COVID from Canada. The oysters on the half shell were awesome. The music and scotch were second to none. I will be back.
Local recommended for true authentic Jazz. The Dapper Dandies were performing and were absolutely amazing. The Pimms cup was a new drink for us but was very tasty.
The waitress was awesome did her job completely!!! The food was good!! The band hotline I requested a song for our anniversary our 11th anniversary and my birthday and a shout out to my husband. She never followed through!! We ended up leaving without hearing the shout-out or the song.!! Was there for 3 hours waiting . Not cool. I also talked to the bandleader about her tip and told her I would make it worth her while. But a no go!!!! I guess she didnt want $50. Our waitress was awesome as all ways, I for get her name but her husband works in the kitchen. Thanks you are amazing!!!
Visiting NOLA, we stopped in this bar to hear some live music. The band we heard was good. Its a fairly quaint bar with a few tables and a nice bar. The next time were in NOLA, well probably stop by again to hear what kind of band they have again.
A female singer pulled us in with rich, raspy vocals. We stayed for their entire set of classic country creole. She asked the crowd to stick around for the next band and we were awe struck - Zydeco and Swamp Rock! We ordered gator and oysters, for the best live music we had ever experienced! Server, crowd, bands and atmosphere were wonderful. The bathroom attendant had a friendly way, but i don’t think she spoke English - Creole only!! Going again tonight.
Food is top notch delicious. Their weekend 50 cent wing specials and three different flavours is a steal. Definitely get the red beans and rice with pickled pork tips, andouille sausage, with a side of cornbread. Great live bands daily, and a DJ upstairs some days a week. Fun times, great for groups.
Awkward bathroom attendant, good but overpriced drinks, decent oysters, variety of music. If you want something other than jazz maybe stop here, but otherwise go to one of the many other places on Frenchman.
This place is really nice, its more for a mixed crowd which is great to get the diversity in the club. But I will say that its built more for a white crowd. Black folk can come here and have a great time, but the choice of music wont get you in the dancing vibe, more so because the songs are a little played out and not so hot anymore. It couldve been the DJ on the night I went, but Im saying he was horrible because he wasnt. But his choice of music caused me to take an early departure :) The atmosphere is nice, you get the DJ club vibe upstairs, the live band downstairs, and they also have an outdoor balcony area if you just want to chill and overlook Frenchman street. The food was decent, the Oyster Etouffee was extreeeeemly salty, a matter of fact - I have high blood pressure right now because of that entree lol. The drinks are watered down, so you may need a few to get you there or just pregame before you go so youll need maybe one.
Awesome music and Matty is great host!!!
As a local musician I play here very frequently and I absolutely love it. Great crowd, great energy, great food and a great atmosphere. On days that Im off...I definitely hit 30/90 for the night life!
Amazing live music down on Frenchmen street. Yes another bar (shocking right?) in New Orleans but this once is sets itself apart. Its more in the hipster-ish part of town away from the touristy bourbon street and worth checking out. Great selection and food menu, with indoor and outdoor seating and of course nightly Music!
I live very close to New Orleans and this was the first time Ive been here. Very nice and what makes it even better are the people that go with you. I did find it a bit pricey. One mixed drink, a beer, and 4 shots cost me $45.50 not including tip. Now upstairs is where the DJ is and they have a very nice balcony in case you want to cool off and talk after dancing. Downstairs had a live band, New Orleans style. Also, if youre leaving at around 2am like we did Dat Dog restaurant is right on the corner with delicious food!
Had a great time here...just happened to find it on our first visit to Frenchman street! Live music, open mic night, house band was awesome! The place does get packed about 10pm onward, so grab a table if/when you can. Food was so, so....and there was only one server on....
Terrible don’t go to this place unless you want your day ruined
Great place to go on Frenchman Street. The Monday night open mic is a lot of fun and draws in a large crowd. Ive never ordered food but the drinks are always wonderful!
Increíble!!! Is all Incan say. During a trip for Jazz Fest 2016 went to this location for 2 nights and 1 Sunday afternoon. Awesome local bands and great food, especially the Pizza. Surprised that there is no cover with the quality of bands that I had the opportunity to experience.Highly recommended!!
Really bad cocktails. Sadly their cocktail menu is difficult to read (using obscure liquor names and no description) and they tasted about as bad as they looked. We enjoyed the music and ambience, unfortunately we were so turned off by the drinks.
Great spot for Jazz. There is an outdoor courtyard if you want to relax outside, hang out with friends and listen to the music without being inside.Old Fashions were delicious as well.
Great bands! Great drinks! Great atmosphere!
A great place for those who likes food and live music. Staff was friendly and we didnt wait too long before being served our meal. The barn playing that night was good. Overall a good evening!
Incredible venue! Music was on point, would recommend this place if you are visiting New Orleans!
Set Up Kings were very good with sound not too loud. Harmonica play was outstanding. Staff good. Will visit again next visit to NOLA.
The music was great, but there was a ton of people and they wouldnt let us bring chairs from the literal stack of chairs outside so that we could enjoy the music and drinks while seated. So we didnt eat or stay since we had to stand or sit on laps even while there was a ton of available space for additional chairs.
Very good prices, no cover fee. The live music was good. Small and cozy venue.
Great wait staff and some tasty nibbles. Many of the bars on Frenchmen are more divey than 30/90. 30/90 is classier with table service including food. Their minimum is 1 drink per person per 45 minute set.Theres a decent sized indoor area where the stage is with an outdoor courtyard/alley off to the side where smokers can sit and still hear the music plus an area for dancing and a SRO area. This isnt strictly a jazz venue. There will be 3-4 different bands each day, playing a variety of genres.
One of my favorites on Frenchmen, evident from 3 visits in 3 days. The wait staff is awesome, fast & attentive considering how crowded this place gets (no cover). Drink prices are reasonable and the food is banging! We had two pizzas and the crawfish boil ($5!) and everything was devoured! Well be back next yr during JazzFest
Bartenders are either racist or act like they dont see black ppl. Just put a whites only sign on the door it can be simple. Its funny tho you have black ppl performing on your stage though.
Frenchman is a great spot for the locals. Live music and good drinks. Definitely the place to be on a Saturday night. Just make sure to Uber, parking can be a bit much. Other places on Frenchman are worth checking out as well!
The live music here was lit...truly enjoyed the music and the atmosphere.
Piano Man G was amazing !!! So happy we got to listen to them !! Great dancing, vibes and music !! Thank you
This was a really cool place. The vibe was cool. The band was amazing. It didnt look like the little New Orleans hole in the wall we were looking for but Im glad we stopped! It was a lot of fun!
Absolutely disappointed in this place. We went to an after hours area and were told from the man at the front door to either go up the stairwell or the elevator. We chose the stairwell and apparently we chose the wrong one as we were not informed there were two and we were promptly kicked out. I’m from Houston and came here to have a enjoyable night for Halloween. I cannot believe how rude and disrespectful the people who worked at this bar were.
Frenchman Street is one of the Better Adult areas to hang out at in The French Quarter; especially if youre trying to avoid all the UNORTHODOX CRAZINESS of Bourbon Street....And this a great place for drinks and live music. Their personal pizzas are delicious and their musical bands play a good mixture of: 70s 80s, 90s Rock, Pop and Rhythm & Blues.
Hands down the best live band I have ever seen.they engery the music and the drinks were awesome. This bar is so much fun and I honestly can not wait to come back to it!!!!!
My guy and I was out looking for a nice jazz band we walked in this location and the band sounded good. We sat for 15 min at a table and not one of the three waitresses came to our table. (Only about 10 people in the whole place) with a menu or asked if we wanted a drink. We finally went to bar and got our own drink. We sat and watched as several other couples and groups came in and sat down and was immediately approached with a welcome and menus. We stayed about another 15 minutes and still no one came to the table so we left. SMH. What do you think was the problem ? :/. I will not recommend to anyone.
This was a decent bar/restaurant offering live music and some local fare in a modern setting. The food wasnt amazing , the service was decent with a few minor issues. After stopping here we ventured into a few more places on Frenchmen Street that felt a little more authentic.
Went during happy hour with $0.50 wings (hit the spot) and oysters. Hurricane was a bit pineapply, and the King Oliver was like candy. Good live band playing mostly blues.
Great live music bands! Also the outside area was a welcome surprise. We came back for a second round the other night.
You can luck into some fairly good live music - depends on the act of course. They seem to book talented ones. Keep in mind that if you do not like a genre you shouldnt be allowed to rate it so be wary of anyone who rates a particular music horrible.
We were walking down Frenchmen St. mid Sunday afternoon and from the doors of 30/90 came the sounds of authentic acoustic blues guitar. Went inside, grabbed an up front table, then were entertained by two top tier bluesman, John Mooney and Marc Stone, playing at the top of their game. A free show that Id happily pay $20 to see.
Wonderful experience here! The off season food prices were fantastic ($13 for a half pound bacon cheeseburger with fries?!?), the atmosphere is comfortable, and they had live jazz&blues when I just happened by on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The only unforgivable sin that I could find was that Yuengling is sold as an import for $6.50
The bar was ok. Drinks were expensive. But it’s a huge turn off having a restroom attendant just to solicit tips. I believe most people prefer pumping their own soap and retrieving their own towel to dry their hands.
Easily becoming my favorite spot on Frenchman. Has live music down stairs, a DJ playing dance/hip-hop upstairs, a balcony over looking the street. Just s great spot for music and to chill.
Went here on 2 different occasions . not enough bartenders.. How can 2 bartenders on each level served more than 60/70 people at a time.. The place was wall to wall pack on NYE .. 45 minutes later still no drink .. Both times i went here never got a drink only bc bartenders never got to me before 45 minutes.. Im proud to say i will NEVER return to this business .. Attention management !!! On high volume nights you will definitely need to hire more bartenders.. not only did you lose out on money. Understaffed for high volume nights is also bad business .. If u just want to stand around and watch bartenders kid around, waste alcohol bc he is moving so fast, and attempt to bartend then go here ..(speaking of second floor bartender)
Great house bands, always a hit with my out of town guests looking for live music
Nice fun bar. The upstairs is popping with hip hop and is lots of fun if you get bored of jazz!! also the bathrooms upstairs dont have long lines!
Great vibes. And chill bar. Really enjoyed the live music here. The drinks were decently priced and the place wasn’t super crowded.
Good beer menu, but a little pricier than other bars on the same street. The Metermaids were the live act when we went on a Wednesday night, and they were great.
Great bar. The bathroom attendant is creepy, however, and I felt uncomfortable. I can pump my own soap - no need for someone to do it for me. And then chase me down for a “tip.” I’ll pass on the bathroom next time, but will probably return to this bar.
