This a nice space to have a birthday or a small event for about 40 people. Its easy to decorate and clean up. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. Although you can order food from next door.

My girlfriend ordered pernil and this is what she got. No meat at all. It was all fat. How is this possible? Will never order from them or go to them. People, make sure you dont get scammed from this business

After a long Saturday morning hike, I had to stop by and taste Marias alcapurrias and her pasteles. Maria and her husband were a delight, explaining how she made and prepped the food, down to the recipe. Mind you, its 36 years of marriage between these two loved ones, and it demonstrated in there richness of PRican taste and flavor. If they dont have your specialty PR food, they will make it right there on the spot for you. BTW, play the lotto also..Maria was a delight to converse with. Definitely, coming back for the rellenos de papas. 🇵🇷

Disappointing Experience at The Latin Flavor in Newark.Rating: 0/5 starsWe were really looking forward to trying this place since we had like 2 hours of free time prior to my son baseball game in the afternoon. We wanted some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, but unfortunately, our experience was a letdown. The service was slow and lost in general, and the food was just mediocre.We ordered the following food items:Appetizers: waiting time 25 mins2 alcapurrias3 empanadasIt took forever to arrive. The empanadas were greasy and soggy.Mains: waiting time 35 minutesChurrasco. The portion was small, especially considering the price.Chicken fingers. We had to return it.Not good at all. We still paid for it.The atmosphere was also uninviting, with loud music and uncomfortable seating. Overall, I was disappointed and wouldnt recommend it to anyone looking for good Puerto Rican food.Service: needs to improveFood: not even close to a good experienceTip: it was included but the server does not show you the itemized receipt unless you ask for it.I was about to add more tip until I saw the check. I asked if it was included and the server mentioned no. I’ll glad I saw it.Please be honest with guests.

The sancocho was heavenly! Like if there was a grandmother or aunt out back in the kitchen! Perfect seasoning! And service was great.

Its been a while since I had a very well made mofongo. It was not to hard and flavorful. It is better than the place a few blocks up. My husband had the sancocho and he said he was good. We sat outside and they had speakers playinf music. The service was a little slow but we were the only ones there. I think the waiter was still setting things up inside.

To have a meal or just relax.....And if you need 😜 a night cap, Best place for drinks n dancing.....my #1 place to chill💯

Good car show and delicious food

My first time trying Puerto Rican Food and it was good! I enjoyed the steak and sweet plantains most! The staff were friendly and made you feel at home.

I ordered Uber eats from them, thinking I was going to get a puertorican flavor,,, very disappointed, food sucked, no boricua taste at all.. I pay over 40 for this order, it sucked. Maybe in person, it’s different, but doubt it. Honestly, I threw $50 away. But it was a try. Hope others have better experiences.

Absolutely amazing place, parking is always available the staff are friendly mannered and attentive, the food is always freshly prepared and well plated. The environment is well kept and secured . Myself family and friends really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend if your looking for a safe and convenient location to have a good time at I will definitely be returning again . Fantastic job done

Liked the karaoke style, what i didnt like was why would they charge an 18%service fee? if we went there and got our own food then had to tip the server. Drinks were great good size serving. But that service fee was not necessary. Overcharged! My friend waited for her thin steak longer than my monfongo which usually takes longer. When she asked the server she was told steak takes longer. Ummmm, nooo then when she finally brought over the steak she didnt even apologize for the delay. Usually all food is brought together. By the time the steak came to her i was almost done with my meal.

The location is great, but customer service needs to be more attentive towards customers.

The Puerto Rican food is really authentic. Like my family’s cooking. I love the music, especially on Saturday nights. The best sancocho I’ve ever tasted. The place appeals to young and old. They have an inside and outside dining area. What an awesome experience.

One of my favorite spots!!! Owners are amazing, patrons are amazing, music is exceptional!!! Can’t say enough about this place. It’s an all around great atmosphere.

Very authentic Puerto Rican flavor. The restaurant is large and has a full bar. Great music for dancing on the weekends. There is no designated parking and on street parking was pretty full.

This is the 1st time and the LAST TIME….Order today September 30 2023 White rice w beans pernil w tostones for my son, 2 Alcapurrias and a Chicken breast with salad and vegetables. I ask the server what it comes in the order, and she said mix vegetables with lettuce tomatoes and onions. We patiently wait 30 minutes and then bring my son’s order old rice with one spoon of beans the pernil full of oil without pork skin. The server said that they bring that plate first because it was all ready made, 20 minutes later they bring my order, I was so upset when I see my food…the salad was 1 slice of tomato and a spoon of lettuce and in the same plate the tostones in a bath of oil. I went to the kitchen with my plate and ask them politely to look at my plate, then I see that the person in the kitchen is not Puerto Rican, so PLEASE DON’T CALL OR SAY THAT THIS IS A PUERTO RICAN RESTAURANT BECAUSE IS NOT. AT LEAST TEACH THE PERSON TO COOK THE FOOD RIGHT. IT DOESN’T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FRY SOME TOSTONES. THIS IS A SHAME, I’m very angry because I’m from New York where the best restaurants are, and decided to have my friend Birthday there because it said online that have music a family environment and Great Food and i FaceTime all the family and friends in a live so we can celebrate together here because the place was decorated nice and all the reviews that I read and the promotion make us pick this place, as a Puerto Rican want to support small businesses, but MY EXPERIENCE IN THIS PLACE IT WAS AWFUL IF I CAN RATE THIS -0000 STARS I WILL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT AS MUCH I DO.

My first time here and the place was great. The best hookahs in NJ hands down. Freddy is the hookah kid he’s such a great kid. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Fresh delicious food , courteous service, my children felt welcomed, and really enjoyed themselves. There’s not many restaurants that provide a family friendly environment. My son really enjoyed the fresh Piña colada. Los tostones rellenos con camarones is a must try. Highly recommend

I really likr the food, i think is the best in the area. The sancocho is delicious and the prices are very good and affordable. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. If you want some good puerto rican food give them a try.

The owners are wonderful people. Its a small world my aunt was married to the owners dad years ago. Although they hold many events there, today was a repast for my Grandma in which we had everyone meet up for Lunch after her burial & this place was very ready for all of us. I try to support our local restaurants any chance I get. So I decided to order from this restaurant. I didnt receive my full order, so I called them to make them aware. The man that answered the phone was extremely rude. The only explanation he gave me was that they didnt have anymore of the food items I had ordered. I mean a courtesy phone call wouldve been nice to let me know of the issue. I didnt even get that much less an apology. This was my first and last time ordering anything from this place. Instead Ill continue to support other restaurants in the area who really value their customers and the business they bring to them.

Amazing staff, owners, and security. The food is over the top and they have live music on Saturdays plus from thursday to sunday they have an amazing dj line up. Big Itch, Jav, Kres Beats, and CJ all bring their own flava to a great nightlife experience. Hookas and drink specials daily. Down stairs hall for private events with in house catering.

Staff charged different prices (more )than what’s on menu. When brought to attention became very self defensive. Will recommend that you check your tab.

A nice place with great music for some fun, drinks and hookah . Drinks presentation needs some work (Shots to be exact). Friendly staff that will accommodate you and always be in good spirits without being fake.Youll be blessed to have Estela as your server, shes amazing.

Unfortunately I came to NJ for a funeral and this is where the repast was held , the owner was so welcoming and kind , she immediately came over and introduced herself,the food was absolutely fresh and delicious. We would definitely drive ALL the way from Boston to just dine here again!!!!

Omg my girlfriend and I dropped by for some Latin cuisine and had such an awesome experience ,it was family owned and operated the owner was so gracious and generous and very friendly it felt like being with family such a welcoming and relaxing environment the food was exquisite and authentic very delicious !!! I ordered Steak Mofongo and I will definitely go back for the night life experience so if your looking for a great atmosphere to eat drink dance and enjoy yourself this is the place bring your friends and family you wont be disappointed !!!!

Love this place! Best Latin food in jersey, great bar and service! I recently celebrated my birthday at this place and it’s just the perfect place to do that, the manager and staff are super friendly and attentive, also great place to just come and have a couple drinks with friends, awesome music by house DJ on weekends, super recommended👌🏼

Lot of fights happen here, their Henny pinas were great👍, The club itself is sometimes dead so you’ll have to catch this club on a good day. And the hookahs are not good at all. Everyone i know hates the hookah from here, too strong gives everyone a headache and nausea.

Food is good. Price is good. Parking and traffic here is terrible though. Cars are always double parked and with Food truck stand across the street same deal, cars always double parked on both sides , you cannot drive by. If there is a parking lot anywhere, no one is using it.

Food is very good. Took way to long to get it tho and the music at 7pm was too loud. You cant even hear the waiter.

This place is just under okay and just above terrible. I keep trying and keep being disappointed. Today was the last straw. I went in tired after work, order rice beans and chicken. Come home I have rice and beans. No chicken. The most basic most common meal in Dominican and Puerto Rican culture rice beans and chicken paid 8$ for rice...... and just beans. Then they don’t answer their phone. Thumbs down.

Salad was good I order steak and onions rice and beans. The steak I damn near had to use a machete to cut... Will not be coming back to this establishment. If I could have gave them no stars I would have.

Oh yeah, this place is nice and comfy. Experienced an Italian salsa dancer which was new and fun to watch. Hookah, drinks, and dancing on deck. Their Henny Piña Coladas are perfect.

Great space i have been to this location a few times and have felt the welcoming comfort by owners and staff. This place makes great Puerto Rican Food and even have amazing appetizers for something on the go with prices you would smack your momma for. Lol yea its cool here the artwork all across the walls are done my a local Graffiti artist hailed for many of his murals within the city of Newark. Definitely a place that makes you feel like your on the Island.

I ordered a breakfast platter this morning and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! All I asked for was scrambled eggs with cheese, turkey sausages links, and pancakes. I recieved a egg omelet, pork round sausage with the pancakes. The pancakes were as if I was eating card board! The sausages were burnt to a crisp. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I WILL ENCOURAGE ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO NEVER GO THERE!!

We arrived looking for something to eat, the place is more about dancing and drinking, first of all they told us that the prices of the menu had increased, the food was average and at the time of paying they charged us 18 usd for service because after 50 USD they charged that, the truth is we feel cheated if it is because tourists saw us, there are American places that charge fairly and serve better
