I got a massage from Layla, it was absolutely amazing !! Best one I’ve had for sure! I’ve never gotten a Thai massage before, but I think it was a combo of that and deep tissue. I suffer from really bad chronic migraines and neuralgia, my neurologist recommended trying to get massages when symptoms get bad. It’s been a rough week and I am amazed and so grateful for how much better I felt when I left, with the knots she worked on but also I’ve never felt so truly relaxed. It’s really affordable too and I was able to get a same day appointment. I’ll be back for sure !

Wasnt really the great experience I was expecting from looking at the reviews prior to going. But the receptionist was great. The pressure was good but the massage felt rushed, someone kept coming in and out, not focused on the areas indicated, left my skin oily after the massage besides my legs. Overall not really what i expected. The masseuse was respectful at least though.

I was visiting family and was in need of a good deep tissue. This place was clean and professional.My two hour massage was inexpensive compared to what I normally pay.Nothing fancy about this place. Rooms are separated by curtains. You can hear the noise out on the street and roof. White noise machine would have helped.But, overall I was able to push the distractions out of my mind and enjoy one of the best massages!

I visited Dao Ruang for the first time this week and had an AMAZING experience. Layla was my massage therapist and she had me feeling like a new person after only 60 minutes with her. I asked for strong pressure (the highest on their intake form) and Layla was able to deliver while thoughtfully checking in to make sure the pressure was working for me. I honestly started to think did I actually book a 90 minute massage? because I felt like there was no way Layla could have fully addressed my problem areas (shoulders & neck) while also having time to work in the rest of my body but she did! I will definitely be back to Dao Ruang in the future!

Both of our therapists, Abbie and Layla, were texting on their phones during the session. The pressure was uneven, distracted, and we could even hear the sounds of the phone being put down onto the mat when they decided to pay attention to their clients again. It was pretty horrible. Two stars because my friend said Abbie was actually very good when she wasnt texting.Very disappointed after reading all the good reviews here.

This is where I got my first massage, and it was definitely an experience I wont forget. I didnt know what to expect since I never had a massage before, especially a professional one. Its all professional and they get all the knots out of your back, theyll do everything too. They use ropes that are tied to poles on this canopy frame to stand on your back and apply pressure to get the knots out. After the massage I felt alot better and looser, might go again to try the different massages

I love this place. They provide you with loose clothing to wear and I get the hour long rigorous Thai massage. By the time theyre done with me I feel like Ive had a great workout. The Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor. Its $75 for a one-hour session.

I got the couples massage with my girlfriend and I was really disappointed. Im not sure that the lady giving my massage was trained to do it, or if she just didnt care. I asked for the highest amount of pressure and 90% of the time she was just barely touching me. She was also wearing vinyl gloves, which I found very odd, especially since it made the experience very uncomfortable. She never asked any questions regarding pressure or preferences. I think she tried to give me a scalp massage, but instead was just rubbing my hair around on my head for about 5 minutes. It was infuriating. I still have knots on my shoulders and additional tension from wasting $170 on this experience.My girlfriends experience was better. No vinyl gloves, adequate pressure, and he seemed to care about her experience. Therefore I am giving two stars. But, you shouldnt have to hope to get someone decent, you should expect that Dao Ruang is staffed with people who give quality massages which justify the cost, which they do not. They also didnt give us an option to tip them individually, which is unfortunate because we would have preferred to give her masseuse all of it. Overall, I would avoid this place based on the likelihood that youll have the same experience as me.

This is a no-frills, serious-as-heck massage place with extremely intuitive, attentive, and professional therapists. I could tell as soon as Jeff began the massage that he was a very skilled healer. After two luxurious (and sometimes painful!) hours, I feel completely rearranged and floppy.My one complaint is that it was cold in there! I asked if it could be made warmer, and Jeff went to do something, but I still felt cold almost the whole time. Next time I wont take the bed right next to the window I guess! Still 1000% worth it.

I’ve been here many times and have had consistently great Thai massages. It’s a pretty strenuous kind of massage and I feel like you need to trust your masseur completely in order to relax and not worry about getting hurt. Dao Ruang has excellent masseurs that will never give you cause for concern. Highly recommended!

This spot has consistently great therapists. I recently bought a package here and look forward to more fantastic bodywork. I am a massage therapist myself and I highly recommend trying out Dao Ruang. You will get pulled, twisted, stretched, and walked on in the most delightful way. Your knots will get beaten and mashed to a pulp. Maybe not for the faint of heart, as Thai massage can be intense, but you will be in very good hands :)

Best thing thats ever happened to me. I feel like I have a brand new body! I do massage for a living, so I need a lot of bodywork and know a great place when I experience one. This is the place. VERY reasonable rates considering the skill level and therapeutic value - especially in the Bay Area.

Ive e been searching for a massage place to frequent and for a few months now, trying a bunch of places, and this is the one! I appreciate harder pressure massages for the long term benefits and do yoga regularly, so the traditional Thai style of massage is my favorite and this is the best one Ive had in the Bay Area.

A true gem of a massage place nestled on Piedmont Ave. The atmosphere is relaxing, the prices very reasonable for the area, and the massage therapists exceptionally skilled, professional, and kind. It’s my favorite place for a Thai massage in the East Bay, and one of the best places I’ve been to for a great Thai massage outside of Thailand.

Been here for Thai massage/ Thai deep tissue combo massage, alone and with a partner and this place is great. It’s easy to book online and the masseuses are excellent.

Wonderful experience. Lala was great. I was on cloud 9 for hours after the massage. I cant wait until my next appointment. Only disappointment was I paid more than expected .
