If I could give a double zero star I would! I was so excited to experience the bull riding and atmosphere with my brother whom is from out of town. as soon as I reached for my ID the owner I believe came from a back door and said my brother couldn’t get in . My brother has fairly white skin so I didn’t assume racism until they refused to give an answer why and became extremely hostile. I was completely embarrassed bringing him to saddle up to experience Peoria for the first time but as the security stated they are rednecks and are allowed to deny anyone I was free to go in but not my brother . Kinda bummed but we went to Club Diesel and was welcomed with no problem had a blast ! If your looking for a great time great vibes awesome people try club Diesel they welcome EVERYONE no discrimination
This club is disgusting on how the staff runs business its a very discriminating place. Came her for my buddy bachelors party yeah you guys can guess it. I was turn around at the door by the owner and security before I even got my ID out. Then wanna say pants was sagging. No no they werent at the time but hey they gonna be ones at end of the day begging for business when people stop coming to the establishment.
Went here for 3 weeks. I’m 30 years old and it was all good until March 23 a guy shoulder checked me twice. I confronted him the 2 time and said hey my name is (blank) … No disrespect… But you keep bumping into me!!!! HE WORKS THERE AND HIS NAME IS STEVE. I told him keep his hands to himself at the end of the shift he proceeded to say time to go and grabbed me again! I walked away bc I was drinking but in honest terms it was not only an assault but a sexual assault bc he grabbed me at the hip!
Crowded bar, service is okay, but the atmosphere here is notoriously terrible. Ive been a couple of times over the last few years and really cant recommend
Love going here every Saturday but I’m going to need the Dj in the hip hop part to update his playlist the same songs from 3 years ago are outdated we need bangers please and thank you!
The place I thought would had been better but Im not surprised about the reviews the female bar tender in the main area wouldnt smile didnt seem like she wanted to be there and gave dirty looks the bathroom for the guys was bad not bad just crazy on how gross it was the back room bar tender was nice she had a smile and was good and the place just have people in there that shouldnt be there so they get drunk to fast and ruin the time the bull was cool the only thing I would say there so much smoke in there I couldnt see its just not a place I would go but if you like the place I can also understand
Looking for fun atmosphere tons of younger people to meet and a great experience in Peoria, then this is your place . Ride the mechanical Bull and see if you can hold on after a night of drinks . Place is hidden in back alley so parking is non existent here but plenty of places near by to park or street parking which is free after 6pm or so
An amazing night club open till the wee hours of the morning. Had a great time. Would definately return. The staff was very professional and friendly. Military members get in free. Drinks were very reasonable, and had a variety of rooms with different genre/themes/music/style to choose from. A very cool club to check out!
I’ve been to a lot of clubs all over America and saddle up is by far my favorite!! 😄👍
Worst owner ever, came from chicago on the weekend To see our friends, and he decided to not let us in, after his staff security saidWe’re good to go in. Btw only one of our friend was 18, and 10 of us were 21+
If you plan on going to the Saddle Up PLEASE do not park in the Twin Towers Circle drive. We are private property. Tye circle drive is for our residents and guests. If you do choose to park here and walk away, you will receive a green sticker and will be towed.
I have gone to saddle every weekend since I have turned 21 and I always had a pretty good opinion about the place until very recently it seems the more I’ve gone the more problems have reared their head the place IS racist me And my buddies have taken bets to see if they’ll let people of color into the door and nine times out of ten they do NOT get let in there is always some kind of excuse for it the only exception seems to be Indian men who I have personally seen harassing womenafter a certain point of time usually later in the night the place becomes extremely crowded to the point it becomes hard to move around and near impossible to get a drink bartenders try their best but the venue can not support that amount of peoplemusic wise the country side plays 7/10 country music and the normal side it 4/10 music from what I’ve seen both of the DJs are old enough to be my grandfathersI’ve never had an issue with my drinks but I have heard some complaints mostly about the attitude of bartenders and quality of drinks madeFinally security they are very hit or miss some days they’ve been very friendly and great at pointing out people who have had too much making the situation right and other times I’ve seen people get completely harassed for very minor issues I do believe saddle up is very quick to ban people for any kind of issue with what seems like no way a repeal the ban making it hard to find friends to go with who haven’t already had a bad experience thereOverall go at your own discretion but do not be surprised when everything I’ve said in this review happens
The scrubby owner likes to threaten people for leaving a bad review! It just so happens this time you picked the wrong persons Son! Well be seeing ya, Ty!
My boyfriend, his friend and I were in the bar for a drink, and we decided to leave to go to another bar. We return later in the night with a group of friends and tried to get back in. The owner told my boyfriend that he was not allowed to enter because his pants were sagging. After asking multiple times, what was wrong he said that we were not allowed to be in there because of the pants sagging and that’s all. Then the door greeter proceeded to tell us to exit the line because we were holding up traffic, even though nobody was behind us. Refused to let us talk to the owner and then once we found the owner outside while we were waiting, he slammed the door in our face. What a joke
I have been here two times now and have had a great time only real problem I had was the bull operator was rude to me but a night of drunks can do that to ya
The owner has decided that because of “marijuana usage” (which is not even an issue) he cannot allow black people with dreadlocks inside. This is absolute discrimination. I will no longer be recommending this establishment to my friends and family, which is a shame, because we love a good country bar, but not one that withholds the racist values people who listen to the genre seem to hold. This isn’t the 1940’s! Segregation is over!
I used to like going to this place and even had a good relationship with a few staff members. I recently celebrated my 22nd birthday and brought 20+ people with me. Everybody got in, but my friend who is black, because he was too intoxicated. He only had a few drinks on the party bus prior, and was relatively sober. A similar incident happened to him and I because he was wearing designer sweatpants and was denied entry. Ive heard many people claim that THIS PLACE IS RACIST, now I understand what they are talking about. My 20+ friends and I will no longer be giving this place our business, after being regulars for the past year or so. The bouncers up front were very unprofessional, rude, and altercation seeking during our interaction. DONT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUISNESS!
We went here because we heard about the one back home in Indy that closed :/What a fun place ! We went to the “not so country” side. Had an amazing time with Emily. Will return and recommend
WOW - thanks for ruining my daughter and her friends night.A bridal party went there to dance, and have fun, and spend money. They are all in their mid-20s.The Security guy was concerned about her drivers license because she lives in South Carolina. Thats fair.He gave it to another guy who scanned it and said it was fine.A third guy came up and said it looked fake, so she couldnt go in.He then proceeded to tear the face of the license off the corner, and RUINED it.So... she will now need to get a new license (time and money) when she is back home. But, more importantly... Saddle up Dance Club ruined what should have been a really fun night for a bride and her friends.
Apparently they have a no dreads policy now and would not give any reasoning for not letting my friend (whos been there many times before) in besides the owner does not like dreads. Truly appalled by the rude staff who laughed at us when we pointed out there was a white woman inside with dreads. It seems like a very problematic rule. Used to be one of my favorite clubs. I cant believe they would treat their customers this way.
The guy lace to go to Peoria to have a fun time that doesn’t end at 9pm, drinks are a bit more than the other places but atmosphere and service makes up for it. One of the best bars in Peoria!!!
Wish I could give negative stars. Want a lot of racism with your drinks this is your place? Owner repeatedly defended a no dread policy because they feel like people with dreads (AKA Black People) were the reason their bar kept having the smell of weed in the building. I will never go to this establishment
Went to Saddle Up last night and they wouldn’t let my friend (that’s been there many times) in because of his dreadlocks. They told us it was policy and they had no choice. Afterwards while we were standing in the alley we saw them let in another person with dreads and as some of us had been in the bar earlier we saw others with dreads as well. The staff didn’t perform his background check or anything but clearly stated that it was due to the dreadlocks that my friend couldn’t enter. I asked about the gentleman we saw them let in after us and their response was that he had been coming for years so they just let them in. It seems that who they let in and who they don’t is inconsistent and honestly a bit discriminatory. I would really like the owner to address this new policy and reevaluate the reasonings behind it. Thanks.
A couple of months ago I graduated from Illinois State University and decided to go celebrate my wife and a few friends. I was in line to get in the club and suddenly I was stopped by the security and was told I could not get in the club because I was a felon. Ive never been to jail in my life. I told them to scan my Id. I had no criminal record. It was the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to me. I was stereotyped because of my skin color and hair. If you dont fit their demographic I highly recommend never going to that establishment........ever
If your a tourist that has any color to your skin do not go. One of the most racist places i have ever seen in my life.
The owner holds racist policies that discriminate against people with dreadlocks because 9 out of 11 people with dreads have smoked weed inside. So instead of searching for weed at the door or utilizing a security staff, he decides to implement a no dreads policy which is selective on whether you are a friend of theirs or not (or white as was the case with a friend of mine). The owner has been in business in Peoria for 20 years but instead of providing a safe and functional establishment for everybody, he chooses to discriminate against an entire group of people and ban them from his bar. I personally have been here several times prior to this and have disliked it thoroughly. On a Saturday night you cant find many people here and its not much fun. Your best bet will be to go up Main to a better bar like Diesel or Ulrichs. To see more, please visit the City of Peoria Facebook page or the Black Justice Project Facebook page. Screenshots of the owners direct thoughts are listed there along with a direct conversation he had with a friend of mine that witnessed this discrimination first hand. The policy and ALL reviews have since been deleted and removed from the Facebook page by the owner. You can no longer contact them. I personally tried to contact them asking for more information about their no dreads policy but I was blocked once I posed the question.
The bar was cool, and riding the bull was extremely fun!! Loved the decor, and the back room was extremely awesome in its decor!!My only problem was with the education level of the bartenders. My friend wanted a margarita, and the bartender said they had frozen ones. When inquiring further, the bartender said something about not having all the ingredients, and that she wasnt very good at making them. She said that it wouldnt be very good.It was really disappointing that she didnt even try to either make one or find someone who could to guarantee a sale. It was my friends birthday and we would have purchased several. I felt like she couldnt be bothered. Margaritas are the easiest drinks to mix and require very little ingredients, so Im not sure what she meant about not having all the ingredients. Tequila, Triple Sec, or orange bitters or liquer, lime juice and salt to coat the rim. These are Staples in any bar Ive ever been to or worked at.I inquired about another drink to another bartender and she ever heard of it, and the drink has been around for a long time.Great bar and we had a great time, but the lack of bartending knowledge was disappointing.
Used to be a fun hot spot for college students, locals, and those of all ages--but recently instituted a racist policy saying no dreads...so needless to say, no one should support a racist establishment. Maybe they should handle their underage situation before implementing such a underwhelmingpolicy.
This place is racist towards blacks & people with dreadlocks because they feel if you’re black with dreads then you smoke weed. Screenshot posted of them admitting it theirselves, this post they made is now deleted.Edit to add: Google won’t allow me to post the pics, however, just go on Facebook and search their name and the post should pull up.
Always a great time at Saddle Up! Love the music, atmosphere and extra security measures the owner has implemented. It all makes for a fun and safe night out! Plus, you cant beat the bull.
If i could give negative stars i would. I’ve never been here and i don’t plan to, since how they actively discriminate against people with locs; specifically Black People with locs. Apparently they all smoke weed, according to the owner...so, if you are Black with locs AND neck tattoos, DO NOT GO THERE, will not be welcome...spread the word do not go here and spend your hard earned cash in a discriminatory establishment.
The male that is in chagre of the bull is always looking to fight any male that is near him and has a hard on every time a female gets on if you watch him he will always have a turned on look its/hes a disgusting person. he will be extra slow for the female if a male gets on they throw him off quickly. Why go to a rodeo bar if u cant enjoy the bull. The owner does nothing but drink and walk around harassing other women the only good spot about this bar is the back room where you dont have to be around the sexist staff but can still get a drink.
Beware!! RACIST!! Beware!!They will also state that you are SAGGING when you are not then refuse to let you in! Expect the possibility that this could happen to anyone!!This shady place is owned and managed by the wrong people such a shame!
The bouncer/owner is rude. He argued with me about why I thought he was rude (he literally screamed and cussed in my friends face) he claims that she physically pushed him. She was right in front of me and did not lay a hand on him. Diesel is soo much better and pretty much any other place you can think of going 😂
Dont let people with dreadlocks in because owner is too lazy/cheap to have good security, and because hes probably racist. had to order beers because the mixed drinks barely had any liquor. place was gross too.
Bartenders were amazing. The bull rider controller was horrible. He was rude and unfriendly. Won’t go again
Its a fun place to have a good time at, but on the other hand if your going to drink to get your moneys worth. Not the place to go. Grt it in a bottle or can because the hard stuff is watered doen pretty good other then that no problems and a great time.
Man what a place, I was in town with two friends and didnt know what to do. So we tried this place out and you will not be mistaken. Great service and just great atmosphere all round. A definite try for all.
Best Country Bar Ever!!! Fun exciting clean affordable drinks. Mechanical Bull, shot skis, mature atmosphere. Secret room in back by bathrooms ... no one knows about shhhhh
Loser owner. I hope your racist and idiotic policies put you out of business. There are so many better options downtown. DON’T SUPPORT STEREOTYPES. We have fought too hard to have a backwards place like this. Negative stars from me!
Pure Discrimination towards anyone who is colored. First time going and will never come to this place again. If your colored don’t waste your money on this hick establishment.
False advertising! Need to change the name! Puts a bad a damn to those actually country dance clubs!!! Was there for an hour and not one country song was played!!! Will never go back!! 4 dollars a beer!! Not worth the cover!
When it comes down to the best saddle up dance bar. This is the one place someone can go and have the best of both worlds. Highly recommended.
This place is fast paced and high energy! If you want to dance the night away, this place isnt too shabby to get it done. The riding bull is pretty darn awesome to 😉
This is for the owner (Ty). I lost my phone there and thought it was a lost cause trying to get it back. Ty kept it safe for me and returned it. Didn’t expect that at all. Thanks 👍🏽
Blue lives matter flag that they put up recently really ruined the atmosphere. Kinda rohipnal nowadays.
This one of the best place to ease of stress after a hard days work. It’s a place to celebrate and enjoy yourself. I recommend saddle up dance club
I think you guys need to really up your entry security! Ive been here multiple times and saw girls that are barely even 18 in there getting drinks and partying. Ive seen this at least 6 times that i went there out of the 10 times Ive been.
Had a great time there with a bachelorette party a while back. We all had a blast dancing and riding the bull. Definitely will go back in the future
Very dirty place behind the bar was nasty and the dance really needs some work. Will never go back. The capicity of people was to much and no walking room around the bar
The bartenders are really nice and always have a good energy. they have nice scenery! good songs
You cant get service here if your hair is in dreadlocks. Hopefully the owner makes better decisions in the future.
RACIST OWNERS. Banned all people with dreadlocks because they “smoke weed”. Vile. Disgusting. And from what I see, dirty too.
Country dance in the front and normal dance music in the back. Prices decent. No food. Cover charges later at night.
Always a fun time, staff is great and the drinks are always good. This is one of the beat bars in Peoria.
Great bar! Great security! Awesome owner always looking out for his customers wellbeing!
Mixed crowd, good music (country and dance), multiple different sections to accommodate whatever kind of night you want.

I spent some time at Saddle Up! I liked the music, the atmosphere and the extra safety measures put in place by the owner. All of this makes for a fun and safe evening!
Really good place, lots of fun, varied music and not to mention it has a great bar.
Good place
Wonderful place, I really loved it!
