We love the atmosphere here. Ali, the owner is so kind and welcoming. If you are looking for a more traditional Hookah bar then this is the place. The owner makes you feel like an old friend. If you want to converse he will or if you just want to relax you can do that as well. This is a great place to go out with friends for the evening.

Used to go there a lot. The employees were so nice and welcoming while the owner was full of himself and made sure that my friends and I felt out of place. I smoked hookah my whole life and he questioned if I know what I am talking about when I told him that the hookah was not smoking right at all. He then had attitude and talked bad to the employees who understood what we were complaining about since they tried to smoke our hookah to see if there was any problem. Eric and Tara were very nice and lovely people who made the place feel way better than it did when the owner was there.

Paid $60 for a two hose hookah because i had two friends with me they charged $10 a person then 25 for the hookah plus tax mean while the sheesha was stale. Not to mention their prices on the sheet said 13.99 for a hookah. Never have i heard of someone paying $60 for a hookah. After we were seated it took 25 minutes to get the hookah. I used to work at hookah bar and I’ve never heard of or experienced such a bad hookah lounge. Save your money go to the loft on bellefonte and enjoy the legroom there too. Not the 3 couches in a crammed little room that this place has. I will never be returning. Glad that the grown adults are getting scammed here but they don’t try to scam the kids coming in under age.

Jake the owner is really cool very comfortable chill spot their hookahs are decent I prefer the ice hose if your gonna go! Very busy on the weekends so if you prefer a more intimate setting I suggest go during the week or Sunday but this deff a go to spot of mine!

Phenomenal hookah bar. Extremely laid back spot. Very authentic hookah cafe. Not a club atmosphere. Good place to chill with your friends and enjoy good company. Ali, the owner is a class act and INCREDIBLY kind. He took great care of us. I cant speak for the other hookah bars in town because we have only been to this one but if youre looking for a sure thing drift hookah lounge is the place.

Ive been going to Drift for a few months now and I absolutely love it! The owners are always so friendly and helpful! The atmosphere is very relaxing, the hookah selection phenomenal, and the service always 5 star! If youre looking for a new place to chill out and have a great conversation then Drift is definitely the place for you!!

I came in ordered the flavor I normally order and it tasted odd so the employee re made it and it still tasted odd. He was very helpful and was going to get us a different flavor at this point we were sitting there for 30 minutes without smoking and then the owner told us it would be extra for money for it like it was our fault the flavor was bad. The employee Eric was really nice so I definitely appreciate him and his help but the owner definitely was not nice about the situation. Just ended up leaving the place without smoking good luck with the business.

Just moved in town and was looking for a nice Hookah Lounge. Tried several places in town, wont name them, but all looked like a sports bar or Disco. Finally I heard from a friend and checked Drift Hookah Lounge in Sq. Hill...wow...great place. Traditional hookah Lounge, comfortable seats, great music, great selections. International music in the background and be able to choose your song is only one of few great things about Drift Hookah Lounge. Last but not least, its worth it, get there and enjoy THE Best Hookah ;)Also the guy whom said he was there last week and owner had attitude, I was actually sitting next to them...owner changed their hookah and came 5 times and asked if the hookah was working well for them...I was so happy to see someone take care of his business....yet when I saw this review, I was shocked...To that guy, I believe he was African...what else did you expect the owner do for you? Also he asked you several times, why didnt you complain then? Any how, dont take his or my word, check it out and you see, hookah and service is THE BEST IN PITTSBURGH...well done drifters ;)

If I lived closer to the city, I would be coming here to relax/study every weekend. The venue is small yet comfortable/intimate and it exudes that laid back vibe others have mentioned. I appreciate the Middle Eastern decor much more than the modern and vacant look of most hookah bars around the city. The shisha has been spot on each time Ive visited, and I have to admit that they are the only hookah spot I know that offers earl grey shisha (which is now my favorite, hands down). But most importantly, the customer service has been spectacular. They anticipate your needs before you voice them, they know how to pack their hookahs, and theyre just so incredibly friendly and easygoing overall. Without a doubt, this is my favorite hookah bar in Pittsburgh.

Been coming here for a few weeks now and its My new fav spot! The hookah service is great..the basement is a LIT lil space..go down find some tunes for the TV n turn up! I recommend trying the WAP flavored hookah for the ladies..I liked it. Everyone is nice n no drama.

Worst service ever. The hookah had no flavor. We asked to change the flavor and he argued with us and refused to change it. The owner apparently doesn’t know anything about customer service. I don’t know if he was in a bad mood or what. He argued with my friend, definitely don’t recommend this place. The seating is also uncomfortable. They also automatically add a tip to your bill. Also the hookahs are too expensive. Hookah bookah is cheap and good hookah.

Really cool hookah spot! Good service, great hookah, and the aesthetics of this place are cool. Cool vibes. The smoke was nice and thick the only issue was the bowl didnt last that long. Also its expensive but that must be how PA hookah spots are.

By far the best hookah lounge in Pittsburgh/Squirrel Hill/Oakland area. Very relaxed environment, perfect flavor scale for any flavor Ive ordered. And the hookahs are gorgeous. Authentic Egyptian/hand made traditional hookahs. I also liked the rugs, international TV, and the option to play your own videos/music on the HD TV. Service was quick and immediate. The owner, Ali, is extremely polite and easy to talk to/get along with. He also carries PAN shisha, which I have not seen in other hookah cafes.

I am a regular at Drift hookah lounge just because they have the best hookah in town and best service. When I read this guy complain, couldnt hold my self because I was there that night. The owner fixed their hookah, then changed their hookah and then kept asking then if they are happy and they shake their head YES,,,,now he complains...I was shocked when I heard about it...buddy you dont deserve to be a drifter,,,,go where ever u used to go....and leave drift to us....Best hookah in town and best relaxing place...thanks Drift ;) keep it up and dont give up by losers like these ;)

Love this spot! Recently started going here and the young black guy who works here (I’m sorry I forgot his name but based on the other reviews it might be Eric) is always so helpful! Pretty small and intimate but it’s always a nice vibe here :)

Wonderful cozy, un-pretentious atmosphere with a great host. Ali was perfectly hospitable to our group of three. He offered us a choice of music and playing cards. An Indian snack mix sat at each table for a light snack. His selection of tobaccos was extensive (over 70) with three or four different brands representing. We enjoyed a sweet Swag Berry flavor. At the end of our visit, he gave us a punch card for a free hookah session. Well definitely be back to fill that up!

This place was me and my friends’ favorite place because of the friendly customer service of the two employees, Eric and Tara. We used to go more than 3 times in a week. The first we went there our hookah wasn’t smoking good and the pull was hard, we expressed it to the employee and when he tried to get us better smoking coals his boss screamed at him, I believe his name is Ali. I don’t respect bosses that scream at their employees especially when all the employee was tryin to do was help. It just not how I was raised, you treat people with respect whatsoever. The second encounter, the owner messed up our hookah which by the way he OVERPRICES!!! When we tried to ask for any adjustments to be made he started going back and forth with us and tried to twist our words. If you gettin more than one hookah, have a cool $50 to spend. Want another nice resonable priced hookah lounge, try The Loft in shadyside. They really good and their iced hoses are amazing. If you not an foreigner from Eastern Europe or Asia, Drift Hookah lounge ain’t for you.

It was a small place and didnt seem very welcoming at first. But in the end it was an overall positive experience.

This is a true hookah lounge it has everything you could want to relax and smoke hookah. Comfortable decore, amazing Persian tea and very high quality hookahs. The owner Ali is very attentive and knowledgeable.

One of the best places to visit and talk to Ali. I had two hookahs and time of my life. And he is putting Xbox. BYOB an option.There are tons of options and if he likes you.. you can have his favorite ones. Chilled pipe and options of food (you can bring from outside) is something makes me feel like home. By the way check out his Iranian rugs.

This is the cleanest hookah bar in Pittsburgh. Great owner and the bakaliva is impressive. Was there last week with my girl friend and we had an amazing time highly recommend.

All the negative reviews are from other hookah bars who don’t serve the right flavor, bad hookah and simply losing business to Drift Hookah Lounge. When you read them, you see how they invite you to other places, that’s a red flag. Here at Drift Hookah Lounge, all the hookahs are Khalil Mamoon, which is the #1 hookah in the world, secondly Shisha used are Starbuzz, Fantasia, Fumari, Al Fakher and Afzal, basically top brands available on the market. Other bars you can ask and see what brands they use. Customer service is #1 priority and all you have to do is, ask them to fix the issue. If you read a review and person says go to this or that place, shows to you that they just want to advertise for their friends at those bars. Last but not least, music is chosen by customers, you choose from YouTube and if more middle eastern music is played is due to the customers selections. The question is, you choose a hookah bar for the music they play or for the hookah they serve you ?!! Drift is #1 hookah Lounge in Pittsburgh.

Initially we were very excited about the setup, atmosphere, and ambience of the place. The customer service was nice and friendly. The owner was very helpful. Unfortunately, we were overcharged. Specifically, we were double charged our hookah bill.

Great place to chill and Trun Up!! I also love that the Hookah and it’s hoses stay true to its flavors! Also never been a big fan of hookah bars before but this place has change my mind.

Great place, went there on a Thursday; mad chill lounge, friendly guy behind the counter, fast service, and great sound inside the lounge made the already good music even better. When in the area, gotta recommend this place for a chill night at a hookah lounge

I am attending a wedding traveled to pittsburgh from LA and searched randomly for a hookah lounge and i can honestly tell I wasnt lucky earlier today lost some money at the casino but now i hit the jack pot this place is cozy and Ali is a real gentleman...... The ambience and interior are well done and that makes it cozy.According to the reviews, I came to the shisha bar.BUT the pipe or tobacco doesnt taste like anything, even though the bowl was changed once. It steams well, but it doesnt taste like anything. How can you make a head so bad!AND it is the most expensive shisha bar in the city. Its significantly cheaper elsewhere.An additional 20% service fee will be charged!The tea was good but too strong.
