Ke Kino Massage Academy & Clinic

I went with my girlfriend and we both had similar experiences. I understand they’re students, but this was the worst “massage” we’ve ever had. I first asked if they could go a little harder, which they said yes to but the pressure didn’t change at all. After that I asked to just go as hard as possible and again nothing changed. I basically just paid to have someone rub oil on me for an hour.I asked the student how long their schooling is, it’s about 6 months and she was in month 5…Not exactly sure what they’re teaching the students here but I can’t say I would recommend going.Edit: I was also told $35 on the phone and charged $40 when I got there.

I have already booked with Alexis at Kekinotwice, and I can confidently say that she consistently delivers exceptional results. Her patience and attentiveness towards addressing my specific problem areas make each session truly enjoyable. Alexis ensures my comfort is a top priority throughout the entire appointment. Ive had so many great experiences at Ke Kino and yesterdays massage with Sue was another one. She was wonderful and even gave me some tips on modalities I could do at home on myself. Ke Kino is the best!

If I could Give this place 10 stars I would!! I have been coming here since the beginning of my pregnancy and from the first day I felt an instant difference! Ive had two prior c sections and I am going for an at home birth and let me tell you, this place has changed my life. I went from unsure to confident! John is magical! His knowledge is unmatched!! I cant say enough about him!! I am so thankful for him and his entire team! From the front door staff to the other massage therapist there! They are just simply amazing!! Excellent service! I called about bad neck pain and they were able to quickly schedule me within the hour. The massage therapist, Darcy, was very professional and attentive to my needs. I feel a lot better now! :)

Just graduated from Ke Kino massage academy, and Im convinced I wouldnt have been happier or more satisfied with my education anywhere else. When I found the place online, I decided to book a tour with the administrator, Amy, the following day. I remember feeling excited once I had left, after I had met the owners, John and Lauren, and took a look around. Its a small school, but a cozy atmosphere, which made it an excellent learning experience for me. The owners are continuously looking for ways to improve the curriculum and atmosphere of the school, that would benefit all of the licensed therapists, students, and teachers. Money clearly isnt the motive here, and I felt that from the first day I stepped foot in the door. The teachers are excellent, and have been teaching the subjects for years. Apart from the education, having licensed therapists in the building, who are the best of the best in this field, has been an excellent learning experience for me as well. They freely share their knowledge and experiences with you, adding the cherry on top to your education. And to add, a lot of them have attended Ke Kino themselves. And above all, you will be supported and protected by Ke Kino faculty; theyre there to look out for you. Youll come out of this school feeling equipped with the tools you need to start in the field of massage therapy, but also just feeling like a better version of yourself.

I love Ke Kino! Got my massage therapy license last year after attending school there. The owners and teachers are caring and knowledgeable. It was a perfect environment for me to learn in. Small class size. Dedicated and friendly staff and teachers. I really cant say enough about it. Excellent experience. I highly recommend Ke Kino to anyone who wants to become an LMT.

As both a student and a client at Ke Kino, I can say that its changed my life in so many ways. The school has been an amazing experience and I feel more than prepared to go out into the world with the information and skills Ive been given here! The staff and students are amazing and the experience has been life changing.

This is my first experience at Ke Kino. I was severely injured in a car accident in May of 2020. I was a little worried at first because Ive had back surgery and chiropractic work done. Kristopher took very good care of me. He listened to my concerns, he was very careful, analytical and informational about the work he was performing. I like to know whats being done and why its being done. He helped get muscles working again that had gone dormant due to my accident. He walked me through what areas he was working on and how they are supposed to be working. He took his time and not once did I tense up for fear of him pushing my joints or muscles too far. I would highly recommend Kris at Ke Kino.

My family and I are so thankful for all the services that Kekino provides. My newborn had a severe tongue tie. He literally couldn’t lift up his tongue. We saw Kelsey the lactation consultant & she guided us through the process of helping my so. They collaborated with an amazing pediatric dentist for a tongue tie revision. We also received body work and lymphatic massages. They have a great team approach and now my newborn sleeps better and eats better. Thank God!

Brilliant resource for all aspects of personal growth and healing. Especially useful with C Section recovery, both physically and emotionally. I am thankful to have such amazing people to guide me in healing scars - both that I know of, and some I did not. Ive only been attending a short time, but the benefit has been remarkable. Im a student here with my lovely other classmates. This is the most positive and amazing place to be! It has been one of the best decisions of my life to enroll at Ke Kino and I have made life-long friends in addition to a great support system. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at Ke Kino and all that it has done for me! I was referred to John James and Ke Kino by my primary care physician for myofascial release after having 10-16 tension/migraines a month for about a year and a half. I’ve known for years that I carry my tension in my neck and shoulders, but it was catching up to me. After my first visit with John I immediately saw a decrease in headaches - I had no headaches in the month between my first and second visits! Over the last 6 months I have worked with John, Dana, and Ly who are all incredible and have helped release the tension in my body and teach me exercises and techniques to strength my body and keep muscles release. I now only deal with one headache every now and then. Great practice with great staff!

My husband and I have been getting bodywork and massage done at KeKino since recently and it has helped us both tremendously. I’ve had spasm issues in upper abdomen since giving birth And Marta V. has already helped me so much after 2 visits. My spasms have eased so far and have learned a lot about my health pattern and how to grow out of them. Student clinic awesome too! Anais was great!

My wife went to school at Ke Kino and received top-notch massage training from super kind, caring, knowledge, friendly instructors. She forged lasting friendships and work relationships with her classmates and trainers. She has also been a client, receiving life-changing acupuncture treatments that absolutely made a world of difference as she fought cancer and endured almost 6 months of chemotherapy. And as a beneficiary of my wifes training, and as someone who has first-hand experience of her before and after massage skills, I can say that she received an amazing education from Ke Kino. Today she is employed by a top-tier Dallas health spa. As for my personal experience, Ive been to Ke Kino many times and have always been greeted warmly and treated hospitably and felt the care and attention and warm, soothing atmosphere they have created.

I LOVE being a student at KeKino!!. The staff is so supportive, knowledgeable and loyal ( many have been here more than 13 years) Students come from such a wide range of backgrounds, yet all of us were drawn here for a greater purpose. I feel well equipped to thrive in this new chapter of my life, my 60s.

My experience with Cat Jones has been nothing but positive. I cam in a twisted mess having been in a car accident, overweight and working in front of a computer all day. She intuitively knew exactly where I needed the most help. I couldnt have healed as thoroughly as I did with her. I noticed how much more upright and balanced I walked out of there.

Cat is amazing spiritual woman. I first met her in McKinney during Octoberfest! I sat down with her to talk about grounding I am an empathy and I struggle with releasing other peoples energy. I sat down with Cat and we talked about my overall journey and what tools I would need to help me in my everyday life. She asked what were my problem areas and began massaging my arms and legs and shoulders, THIS IS NOT JUST ANY MASSAGE this is a spiritual journey of releasing all the negativity and trauma from my body. It was overwhelming in a fantastic way I recommend anyone that wants to get right within them selves or just be intune with your body mind and soul. This review has been a long time coming and I should’ve posted it a long time ago. It’s an emotional one for me, so bear with me please. I’d always heard about the John James and KeKino “magic”, but wasn’t sure my situation was one that could be helped. After talking with a couple of folks, I decided to go ahead and try. I went to see John for myofascial release, a form of physical therapy. I’d recently found out that I, much to my surprise, was pregnant. I was already fighting to get my progesterone level up (it was almost at zero) and at the same time having horrendous cramping, nausea and vomiting. Anyway, I had many other issues I wanted to see if John could work on. I know John would never claim to be responsible for these miracles, I can’t help but to give him credit because the timing/correlation just can’t be denied. After the first visit, my baby nestled in, bleeding stopped, progesterone did its job and nausea was decreasing. With each subsequent visit, things improved. My baby was not just ok but thriving! That is huge, right? But wait, there’s more. Something I did NOT expect happened. See, about 13 years ago my boyfriend at the time beat me severely. It left me with a fractured sternum, ribs, jaw, and completely deaf in my right ear as my cochlear nerve and mastoid bone were badly damaged. I was told I would never regain hearing, to any degree. As John worked on me, on that right side of my head, I felt my guard go up as it has any time anyone has ever gotten close there. He was patient and gentle, and worked with me through letting my guard down so he could do his work. As he worked, I noticed what sounded like a mixed of static and rushing water in that ear!!! Over the next week I noticed the same thing happening more often, and that I could hear things here and there. Weird! Each time I saw him, the static/water noise subsided a little more and I started to regain actual hearing!!! Unbelievably emotional to say the least. Now I haven’t had a new hearing test done, but I’d estimate I’ve regained 50% of my hearing and at times even more.So here I am, 36.5 weeks pregnant with a baby that has decided she wants to hang out in breech position. I decided I needed to head in to KeKino to see if a little myofascial release would encourage baby girl to moved around a bit. After having John and Dana (who omg is incredible as well) work on me, baby girl indeed did decide she wanted to try head down position. I’m breathing better, my indigestion has calmed down, I am so much more relaxed! I can’t wait to see how the improvements effect the outcome of my birth. I’ll be sure to update here!Words simply cannot express my heartfelt gratitude for John, Dana, and KeKino for what I have gotten out of my visits there. I have gotten so much more than money could buy! If you’ve been on the fence about investing in yourself by going to see them, I lovingly encourage you to go ahead and schedule. You won’t regret it.

Ive seen several people at KeKino, but mainly John and have always had a great experience. Tension I wasnt even aware of got released every time. Truly recommend to anyone and especially any mom!

Great first experience at ke kino! I booked a massage with a student. He had good technique and good communication!! The massages are fairly priced as well!!

If you had a c section, GO SEE JOHN AND MARTA. You don’t have to understand everything he’s doing, why it works, or how it helps - but trust me IT DOES. I went in because my son needed body work prior to a tongue and lip tie release, so John and Marta worked on both of us. I went in confident that my son needed the body work- but I was skeptical how much it could help me in just one session. I had been in pain for weeks. I left sore but with a lot less pain, and a few days later my pain went away around my incision. My mother’s wrist improved SIGNIFICANTLY too, as well as my sleep (even though I am still getting up every 2-4 hours to feed the baby). I feel better, i sleep better, and my baby latched better. This does a lot for you PP, mentally and physically. 100000% recommend.

I saw Marta last Friday. Im nearly 9 months pregnant, and in pain like you wouldnt believe. Walking was incredibly difficult, I couldnt kick or lift my legs, my spine felt like a piece of rebar and I was having a lot of emotional setbacks with this pregnancy.Not only did she teach me breathing exercises to calm down and get baby girls feet out of my lungs, she fixed my pelvis and pains that i didnt even know were there. For the past two days Ive been bracing myself for pain while walking, climbing into bed, streching or rolling over, and there ISNT ANY PAIN. I hadnt realized how limited my life was until suddenly i could cook again, play with my older daughter or even take a walk around the block.

Ke Kino is amazing, the healing opportunities are so profound! Such a high vibration operation and such amazing staff. Ke Kino truly makes one feel like family once entering the door.

I have been coming here for two years and have never had a negative experience. The therapists are friendly, attentive to your areas of concern, and knowledgeable. I have booked with student therapist and licensed and had a great experience with both. I highly recommend booking a session.

I just finished my coursework at KeKino Massage Academy and passed the MBLEx. The teachers are all very committed to making sure we have the knowledge we need, both for the test and more importantly for being successful massage therapists. Dr. Christel Parish their chiropractor on staff is amazing! She has the magic touch and she is so knowledgeable about the body and how it is all connected. I have allowed her to work on me for over two years. She can work on any pain, not just back or neck pain. She worked on me when I triple sprained my ankle, she worked on my shoulder when I aggravated an old injury and I know of people she has helped who suffered from carpal tunnel. Go see her!

I graduated from Ke Kino a year ago and the experience was wonderfully transformative from beginning to end! I learned so much (including how the learning never ends) and was given the tools to create a (now only a year later) lucrative and fulfilling career. I thought massage and bodywork was a puddle but...its really an ocean of information, modalities, and intuitive work with several approaches and endless possibilities.Having worked previously in health with a science based background, I can fully state that Ke Kino not only provides that foundation (you will leave giving an evidence based approach, therapeutic massage) but also allows for the more intangible and intuitive side of bodywork (you will leave knowing how to not be drained in the process).If thats not enough to convince you, I can honestly state that Ive never applied to a massage job that didnt offer it. I owe that to the expert staff at KeKIf youre going to go to massage school in DFW, GO HERE.

I wish there were more stars! The students here are sooo skilled! I have even had therapists at other clinics, that went to school here, they put out some of the best therapists. I also enjoyed the chiropractor they had on site.

Teachers were amazing when I was in school here!!The previous administration however, had a hard time with the transition to TDLR so it made the process stressful and confusing. Eventually, everything got figured out, but it was definitely a battle for me.
