Last minute bite to eat here. Everything was delicious. Food came out timely. Drinks were strong. The noodles were awesome! Two of us split two rolls, an app, and the noodles. We were satisfied but the noodles were so good we were fighting over it 😂 Dessert we got the bao buns but those were just OK.
That was great dinner for me.I would love to say it is new experience with delicious food, creative, and well presented. Service are great and friendly. The only reason I gave every point with rate 5 because I feel satisfied. Event I am kind of person don’t really like noisy but I still enjoy with the environment. Completely great night for me❣️
Food was delicious, creative, and well presented. Service was impeccable. The wait-staff was on point, attentive, and friendly. The only reason I gave atmosphere a 4 was because it was noisy and thats not the fault of the restaurant. I also liked the small and large plates options which allowed for price control. An easy half block from Count Basie Theater!
Excellent experience at Teak on a Sunday summer evening. we sat on the patio, had a very attentive waiter and enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts.we ordered the sangria, rosalita, and pineapple jalapeno margarita to drink. they were all delicious. the rosalitas smoky flavor was to die for.appetizers: lotus buns and calamari -- they were both delicious. the buns had a delicious, crispy pork inside with a pickle to add that nice bitter, tanginess. presentation wasnt amazing, but the buns were excellent. the calamari also didnt present beautifully, but the spicy taste and the dipping sauce were wonderful.dinners: sunshine roll, pad Thai (w/ chicken) and drunken noodles (w/ chicken) -- all 3 entrees were delicious. some of the best Thai noodles weve tried before, and the sushi was delicious as well!dessert: coconut tres leches -- this 3 leches cake was one of the best Ive ever had. it was topped with toasted coconut and berries. it tasted very fresh but also kept to tried and true taste of a tres leches cake!Id definitely come back! excellent experience.
Lively place with excellent food. Poke bowl had a spicy kick! Only comment to improve would be acoustics... the overall lively din made conversation a little bit of a struggle. And while we are 50+, no one has a hearing aide or any hearing issues.
Went here on late on Friday night for food and drinks with my girlfriend. Service and atmosphere was great! Versatile crowd with a premier bar area for nightlife and ample room for sit downs. My only gripe are the portion sizes: Ordered edamame dumplings and some sort of spicy tuna crunch. Delicious but the portion sizes were incredibly small! And these arent expensive ingredients, no excuse.Edit: Since pricing is extremely subjective outside of basic supply and demand parameters, I still dont understand the legitimacy of your argument. Id be more convinced if you told me that the reason you overprice your apps is simply because you can get away with it. Instead, I hear that your edamame dumplings are hand rolled? I sure hope so! Youd be lucky if that was a 3 oz portion size. If it was frozen too Id be insulted at this point. And you use big eye tuna but again, its spicy tuna! Spicy tuna is mixed with fillers. Again, maybe a 3 oz portion size for over $20, tax and tip included. I just hope your staff gets paid handsomely, they deserve it.
Great pork chops! Very tender and savory flavor. Drinks are great. Dessert was really good. (Cant remember the name but it was a cake with coconut creme served with strawberries and blueberries). French onion dumpling were amazing
My boyfriend took me here for date night because we got some good recommendations from friends. We had the crisper rock shrimp (absolute favorite) and pork potstickers to start. They were both delicious but the shrimp was the better of the two. The drinks were good. We mainly went for the sushi so we didnt have any entrees/ large plates. I had the double agent and it was amazing! My boyfriend had the voodoo I believe and he enjoyed it. Our server was the sweetest! She mentioned loving the gluten-free chocolate lava cake and after having it, I loved it too! The only thing I didnt like was where we were seated but I would have that day all over again and I will be back whenever I visit NJ again.
Ive been meaning to come to this restaurant for a while and finally did. Let me tell you, the food here made the trip completely worth it. What a delicious experience. I kept my order to their Rolls menu, fusion done right. What awesome flavors. The ambience is neat, but it got terribly loud in there, so dont expect a quiet evening if thats what youre looking for. Also, oddly they did not provide soy sauce with the rolls, and when I asked for it, there was a strange hesitation. I dont know what it was about. Perhaps their Rolls are of such perfection that they dont need it, but when it comes to Japanese rolls, even if fusion, Im still a traditionalist and want soy sauce with my rolls.Strongly recommend for amazing fare.Update: Returned to Teak within a week and ordered more rolls. Sure enough, soy sauce was placed on the table prior to the rolls arriving. Excellent service and management.
The Teak website boasts all day Thursday Happy Hour specials. I even checked the website before going. I got there a little after 7 PM and asked to be seated for the specials. The hostess tells me that the Happy Hour ended at 7. I said to her that the website says Happy Hour is all day on Thursday. She says to me, Oh, that ended last week.I was very annoyed. I told her you should change your website, turned around, and left in a huff.Im done with Teak.
I made a reservation for 7ppl at 7:30 on a Thursday night (upstairs), to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. The music was extremely loud. Making it difficult to hear our server or have a conversation amongst each other. The lack of lighting at the table made reading their menu strenuous, and to see the food presentation we had to use our phone light. At about 8pm our server came to greet us and take our drink order. I requested water for the table and bottle of champagne from their wine list. 20 minuets later a busser brought over the champagne, our server placed the glasses on the table and informs us that the bottle she is opening isnt what we ordered because they do not have that one in house, So, instead of asking me to pick a different bottle, she took it upon herself to choose for us and proceed to open it without showing us what it was.As my son goes to drink his, he sees lipstick marks all over the rim of the glass, I hand her the glass and tell her its dirty, so now the champagne in his glass, that Im paying a $100 a bottle for is getting poured down the drain because someone is to lazy to properly clean their stemware. Water was served at 8:40pm, approximately one hour after we arrived. Once our server was available to take our food order she was completely unattentive and rushed I had to stop her from leaving because she missed taking one of our orders. Aside from the subpar, disorganized service and uncomfortably loud ambiance the food was excellent. Beautiful presentation and everything tasted amazing. Unfortunately soy sauce was not provided with the sushi rolls.
Teak stands out for several reasons: the service (and servers) was outstanding; the atmosphere was social yet conducive to having a conversation; and the food was excellent. My husband and I sat at the bar and enjoyed happy hour choices (Peppered Tuna Tostada and Crispy Short Rib Bao Buns) as well as Crab Croquettes, Drunken Man Noodles, and the Sunshine sushi roll. For cocktails, I had the Cucumber Cilantro Gimlet and he had Sapporo on draft. It was a nice steady crowd, especially for a Monday. Will definitely be back and am already thinking it would be a great spot for a holiday party.
I was not sure if I wanted to give this place a 3 or 4 start but I think 4 is accurate. What I liked: the French onion soup dumplings, the rock shrimp and the pineapple fried riceAs entrees we got the short rib and the burger. The short rib had great flavor but was dry. The burger was not bad but it was nothing special considering the price. The service was great which is also why I gave 4 stars.
Teak was excellent. Sharing plates are not NYC sharing portions. They are big enough to share with 4 people or as an entree for one. Everything ordered (pear &goat cheese salad, ribs, octopus, and brussel sprouts) was flavorful and we wanted to keep eating but our eyes were bigger than our stomach. Definitely will be back!
I went to happy hour on Tuesday with some coworkers and was disappointed with the bartenders service and attitude towards us. He was not attentive and was rude when we were trying to get his attention for service even gave us the hand. Im in the hospitality business and have much respect for the business but he was totally unprofessional and rude. Spoke to the manager afterwards and hope that he addressed the matters that were discussed with his employee.
First time here..we wanted to stop by for happy hour.... plenty of (metered)street parking.. we didnt have reservations, so we walked in and sat at the bar..plenty seating upstairs, downstairs and rooftop...We ordered different drinks on the menu and some sushi rolls..everything was good..our server was nice....definitely will be back.. i recommend...
Best sushi roll Ive ever gotten - Misaki, I think is the name. Edamame dumpling couldve been warmer and wasnt as good as the first time I got them. The wings were delicious. Got roti roll for dessert and Im convinced its the best thing on the sweets menu. Ate on the second floor, it had chill vibes but music made it little hard to hear each other speaking. Someone at the table also got the Lo Mein and loved it. The sushi ice cream is the bomb and definitely shareable. You should get a reservation and plan time to look for parking during busy times.
Every time I’ve come here the bouncers have been absolute AHOLES about entry EVERY SINGLE TIME. We arrived at their venue and they did not allow my friend to go in because he had a drawstring on his pants… he was wearing khakis. My husband had a white T-shirt on under his dress shirt and they made a comment. All of my friends were nicely dressed. Absolutely ridiculous. Note to the owners. When a group of 10 is coming in, ready to spend money and nicely dressed, do not deny entry. Your loss and not ours. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Teak deserves 10 stars all around. The food was delicious and service was impressive. It literally elevated the experience. First time here but definitely will be going back. They have small portions but its perfect for sharing and just the right amount of food to leave satisfied. Everything was just great.
This afternoon, Thursdsy 6/6/24: after seeing Thursday All Night Happy Hour Specials on the Rooftop we go there at about 7PM looking forward to a nice bite to eat & a drink. Upon walking through the door and informing the hostess we wanted to go upstairs for the rooftop all night happy hour, the hostess told us it ended at 7. I mentioned that we just saw that the rooftop happy hour is all night on Thursdays as listed on their website. The hostess replied quite unapologetically, Oh, it just got changed! A man standing next to her appearing to be a manager, said nothing. Bad enough their website is incorrect. Im glad I hadnt paid to park, which is often the case in this area.Sadly, Ill never go back there for anything ever again.
The food was quite good! However, the service was not. We had reservations, but they tried to persuade us to sit at the bar. Then our waiter immediately told us that the restaurant was going to be busy and we had to put our whole order in at once. (The restaurant was never full.) Then we waited a bit too long for the check.
I’ve seen people in the reviews say this is expensive but that’s a little surprising to me, especially in an expensive area like this, I’ve found the prices to be exactly what you’d expect for a higher end lounge/restaurant with excellent food like this. Everything I’ve had from here in the dozen or so times I’ve had it has been excellent, although I do find the cooked food better than the sushi. The sushi is good but there are better places in the area that do sushi only better; however, for a place with a diverse Asian menu, which is usually the sign of bad food, they break the trend because everything I’ve had here is awesome, especially any rice or noodle based dishes.
Fantastic service, delicious food, amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back again. Edamame dumplings are unreal
Our 20 year Wedding Anniversary dinner was incredible. Our starters were two types of dumplings, french onion soup and edamame. Both are very good, personally i loved the french onion soup dumplings. Give them a try! My dinner was the Soy Braised Short Rib with celery root puree and spinach and mushrooms. Another amazing dish! Highly recommend Teak!
Food has gone downhill, the noodles Drunken Man Noodles were so oily I couldnt even finish it. The sushi was good but small and way overpriced. Wont be going back again.
We always have the best experience here. Mush at the front door is so accommodating. My group of 4 came around 9:45 last Saturday and kitchen was closing at 10. He was able to get us right in. The hostess and wait staff were friendly and didnt rush us. Everything we ordered was delicious. This is one of my favorite spots whether for dinner or just a night of dancing.
Great restaurant when you want something unique and delicious! We ordered a bunch of dishes and ate family style so we could try a little bit of everything. Had the summer roll for sushi as well before the season is over and its amazing. Our server was absolutely great.. been a while since Ive had such good service!
Second best part of Teaks is the diversity, loved seeing so many different types of people enjoying themselves! First best part about Teaks is the food is stupid GOOD! And it’ll turn up after 10 - if you want to dance. Music is all your favorites mixed with soft EDM. Let’s go red bank!
Great food, very inventive and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Would definitely go again.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Teak tonight for my daughters birthday. Every single item we ordered was delicious! The sushi, the pineapple fried rice, the short rib and the skirt steak were all prepared to perfection. Our server Mike was great and the cocktails were spot on too! We will definitely be back.
Showed up to this restaurant on a stormy night for a dinner reservation with friends. Brought a very special umbrella with me that had belonged to my grandmother who passed. Put it in the umbrella bin before walking in and sat down to eat. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress introduced herself and got us our drinks very quickly. A few minutes in the rain slowed So my husband wanted to go outside to pay the meter which we had not done yet but to his surprise, the umbrella had been stolen. We mentioned this to our waitress who mentioned it to the manager. She quickly came over to our table and told us that she would not stop until she figured it out. She had her staff review the tapes until she saw the person who took it. She searched her records and called the person and told them that they had stolen the umbrella and they needed to bring it back, which they did. So not only was the food beyond amazing, drinks so delicious and satisfying but the service was outstanding. I have never had somebody go so far above and beyond to help me. I could not recommend this place, enough, not only for the amazing food but also the amazing service.
I no longer live in Monmouth County, and because of that I do not get to come here often and it really is a shame. With that being said, Teak is always my first stop when I am in Red Bank- its an absolute MUST!My favorite food selections would include the edamame dumplings, and the pad thai. If youre looking for a really great cocktail, the Coconut Thai Martini is Outstanding! It is so creamy, but light at the same time. This drink sure can sneak up on you though.
Out of all the restaurants and bars in Red Bank, Teak is definitely my favorite, specially when it comes to Asian cuisine. Their food is always done to perfection and their cocktails never disappoint me! My top picks always are the Pineapple Fried Rice, their Crispy Rock Shrimp, their St Louis Ribs and their Soy Braised Short Rib. My preferred cocktail is their Lychee Martini, ugh to die for! And if you always have room for dessert, consider their Roti Rolls. Their staff is very friendly and theyre always attentive with everyone. I will continue to go as long as Im around. Cant wait for summer to also be able to enjoy their open rooftop and great music with my fav cocktail and my friends.
The food/beverage were great. The hostess and server were nice. The only issue I had was there was a weird guy who paced back and forth in front of our table. At first I thought he was a guest, but it also seemed he was apart of the establishment. He literally stood in front of our table multiple times, then stood there with security. After we got our check he went over and spoke to our server. It was the weirdest thing, made my guest and I SUPER uncomfortable.
My girlfriend and I absolutely love this restaurant! We visit at least once a month and we try to taste new things but always order the Imperial Spare Ribs, Lotus Buns, and Drunken Man Noodles because they’re all too good to pass on. Yesterday we also tried the Korean Tacos(I believe they’re newer to the menu) and I’m so glad we did because they were delicious! Also, my girlfriend’s go-to drink in the red sangria and it never disappoints so definitely give it a try! Our server, Mary, was also so kind and amazing!
I loved the rooftop dining and the ambiance. The sushi rolls are top-notch, short rib empanadas are amazing, and even the desserts are so good! It is a little pricey but definitely worth it. They also have a dj and a dance floor after 9pm.
Last night my fiancée and I had an incredible dinner at Teak. The lotus buns and the French onion soup dumplings are a must. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and the upstairs was the perfect spot for the two of us. But something I truly must highlight is the fabulous service we received from our waitress Emily. We’ve truly never had such service before. She was attentive without being pushy, sweet as could be, and her demeanor showed us she truly loves her job and respects her customers. It was just the perfect compliment to an already fabulous meal. We can’t wait to come back, but I do recommend a reservation, as it was truly amazing how fast the restaurant filled up!
The rooftop was cool and the bartenders were really nice up there! Before that I had dinner on the first floor and the ambience was nice as well as the server. The restaurant was really busy, but I feel the server still did a decent job considering every table was sat. I was however, disappointed by the food. I had the teriyaki chicken and I wasn’t a fan of their sauce which is a personal preference but the chicken itself was dry. We also had the pineapple fried rice and the drunken noodles, but as a Chinese person these did not taste up to par for me. I did enjoy the seaweed salad and brussel sprouts, though.
Great dinner on March 2 with friends - delicious food and drinks. Our server was fantastic, very attentive and made great recommendations. The restaurant is incredibly loud, you can barely carry on a conversation with the people at your table. And the two hostesses were quite rude, definitely not a warm or welcoming demeanor. Their behavior is unfortunate as it reflects on the entire experience of the restaurant. More oversight and direction should be provided by management on how to interact and respectfully speak with customers.
Perhaps the most attentive service Ive ever experienced in a restaurant. And the food matched the service!! This is a MUST VISIT location when in or near Red Bank! Brendan, our server, was superb!
Great spot, especially before a show at Count Basie. Terrific service. Food is solid, check out the drunken noodles. Cocktails are great, try out their spicy marg, it’s a 10/10.
I have had nothing but great experiences here but Brandon my server made the experience about ten fold he was knowledgeable gracious and overall positive he definitely deserves a raise! Will be back again just for him!
Today was a disappointment! We came in without a reservation which at 5:30 is usually not an issue. They were not able to sit us inside due to other people coming who have reservations. Fine, not a huge deal, though we kept seeing empty tables inside for the duration of our dinner. We ordered two appetizers, a sushi roll and an entree to split between 3 people. $18 Tick Tok roll was super small and looked like a regular tuna roll with scallions stuck in it. Our steak came out 5 minutes after the appetizers. By the time we got to it, it was cold and did not taste good. I mentioned it to the waitress and she could not be bothered. Our entire dinner was about 30 min. If I wanted a 30 minute meal I would have gone to Burger King. Tuna tar tar and ribs were good. The whole thing felt rushed and just unpleasant. Not worth $120 we paid.
Great experience with a party today.Staff was warm and extremely helpful.Food was delicious and servers went out of their way to accommodate any special requests. All guests were delighted and will surely return again on their own! Perfect place for any occasion - highly recommend.
The drunken man noodles, edamame dumplings, and cocktails continue to be the best things on their now aging menu. The octopus was chewy, and the sushi was bland; as if the fish was old. Overall a beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff and mediocre food. Time for a menu refresh!
I have come to teak before to eat and to the club upstairs. However I have never had an incident of racism and discrimination until now. We went as a group for my friends birthday who is black, all of us 22-24 mind you. We were denied entry unless we paid $300 for a bottle? Which I’ve never heard of on a Friday night while there was flooding going on and red bank was dead. The bouncers didn’t even pay attention to us when we ask about the bottle. Yet we saw people underdress entering and leaving. It made no sense to me, even when a friend of ours tried to buy a bottle they gave us a hard time of coming in. Our group was black & Hispanic and there is no other reason why they would deny us. Very disgusting and lame they would rather have undress guests than diversity.Don’t come here unless you want to listen to old people music
The food is fantastic (coming from a big food snob). The only thing I wish they had was a room for people who want a little quieter spot as its a loud restaurant with loud music. That said, I love the food so much that Ill go back without hesitation.
Great experience for a Monday date night. Will be back. Enjoyed the chicken entree (cooked perfectly on a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus with a subtle teriyaki sauce) and rock shrimp.
Celebrated my cousins birthday and we had a great time! Food was amazing and night life was even better. Security at the door: Rob and Bob were amazing! Antonella and Billy were so sweet as well. Great experience, we will be returning!!
It was a nice place we made reservations and got seated pretty quickly. Our server seemed to be in a little rush and treated it like a job. The grilled octopus I had was tasty as an appetizer and the potatoes were a little much was still tasty. I had the sushi which in the end seemed over priced for what it was.
Teak’s service (excluding the wait staff) needs to get in shape. My husband called in a reservation a month ago to celebrate my bday dinner in the upstairs part of the restaurant. Three of my friends came from out of state (CA, VA, and TN). We arrived for our reservation yesterday only to be told by the seating hostess that they had the reservation listed for downstairs and the upstairs was completely booked. I wanted to walk out at that point but didnt because I had people with me who were hungry. We ordered a bottle of wine and some drinks and asked to have the appetizers put in first, when the waiter tells us that management wants all orders put in at the same time. It was at that point that I decided to skip MY meal as i was completely irritated. Needless to say, It ruined my birthday dinner experience and I was embarrassed for my guests. I’m sure my reservation was conveniently placed downstairs in order to accommodate a bigger party. It’s a horrible and greedy way to do business and I won’t ever go back again after this experience.
I had heard good things about this restaurant. Maybe my expectations were to high. The sushi was small compared to what Im used to. The octopus was tasty but not a meal. Maybe Im spoiled.
Excellent Asian fusion menu with wide variety of choices. Wih it being closed up for winter it is a bit noisy, but with the feel of a great neighborhood restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Cadence melendez’s review of teak was completely true. what teak responded to her review was inaccurate and distasteful. the bouncers completely ignored our group and never stated that they were at capacity. to say that our group were “slurring” their words is a complete lie. when we tried to show our id’s, they stated “we’re not even going to look at that” in a judgmental tone. please explain why your bouncers would say that if it wasn’t about race! you obviously pulled the drunk card instead of actually admitting they were racist. they let other people in but not us unless we bought a $300 bottle. i know a bottle girl who used to work there and she stated that has never been a policy of theirs. at least be truthful when responding to your potential customers. never come here if you are a minority!
Food was good not spectacular. Service very good . Recommend for date night or with good friends. Everything is over price these days.
Chose this place for my bday dinner. Love me some sushi. Female DJ was SUPERB! Played all my fave top 40, edm and remixes! Food was beautiful and tasty. They have outdoor dinning as well with a beautiful scenery. Def wanna go back when its warmer out and sit on the outside rooftopSmall parking lot
Celebrated my engagement the night of at the Teak rooftop. Had ~40 friends and family members meet at the rooftop to celebrate for drinks. The managers and staff were extremely helpful and made the night extra special with their hospitality. Great live atmosphere and the rooftop nightlife was the perfect place to celebrate the special day. Thank you TEAK
The food was good but that’s about all this place had going for them. I’ve been going to red bank for food and good times for years and finally decided to go to teak for food instead of the club upstairs. Food was good but we had so many issues.1. We called and asked to have an extra chair added for our reservation. They told us no because they were fully booked. Throughout our entire dinner we saw several tables available. Unsure of why they refused to sit one extra person. That I can get over because it was on us for trying to change the reservation with 3 hours notice.2. Reservation was for 7pm and we did not get sat until 7:30pm. I understand things are busy, but at the time the table we were to be sat at was empty the entire time we entire wait.3. Our server was not nice to us. We had two rounds of drinks and when we denied the third round, he got angry at us and walked away. “Fine whatever” walked away and did the hang loose sign. We still don’t understand how someone can get mad at us for that. It was extremely uncomfortable.4. We were celebrating a birthday and we asked if we could have a sparkler candle since we saw a table near us do it. Our server said yes we could, and then refused it when we got dessert. It was embarrassing, since we saw our friends eyes light up with the sparkler and all we got was a sad little candle.Overall, food was good. Service, not so much.Oh- and while I was eating, they kept trying to clear my plate. Take it easy, the fork is still in my hand.
**UPDATE**I went here today for a late lunch, possible early dinner and ordered the rock shrimp (which I had on a previous visit) for $17. Although the portion was decent, it wasnt as generous as the last time I was here. The menu has gotten more expensive and we ultimately left after eating the appetizer because we didnt want to spend $27 for a single order of Pad Thai with chicken. You can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Needless to say we left disappointed.**OLD REVIEW**At 1st the menu seems pricey, but the portions are large! Food was very good and fresh tasting. You can easily share some of the dishes with 2 people if you dont have big stomachs! Service was also really good. I would recommend and will be going back! 👍👍
Horrible Horrible. I am sitting here. After having dinner for my granddaughters birthday. They refused to give us plates because we brought a cake. We celebrated anyway but what an embarrassing situation. There are lots of places that appreciate customers. Not Teak. Never ever again. No I am not kidding. I am a professional. I was a very embarrassed guest. And it gets worst. I called the next day, spoke to managers trying to makes sense out of the situation. Management thinks I am a bad person. To that end I would also like to tell a reader, take a look at my other post. Because of the state of the economy, rarely do I WRITE NEGATIVE COMMENTS. But this is an exception. Thank goodness for you folks you are in the theather districk and do not need repeat customers. For sure you will never get my business nor that of the various social clubs I belong to.
Food was salty and oily and the drinks tasted premade. This review is for Teak restaurant in Red Bank.
Me and my friend went to Teak for an early dinner yesterday and the food was delicious!! We got the Avocado roll, the California roll and vegetarian lo mein which was recommended by are waiter. I would definitely recommend Teak and will sure be coming back again!!
Saturday night dinner before the show was fantastic. Food is wonderful. Server took the time to explain unfamiliar ingredients. Then made suggestions based on reactions. Well spaced tables made for a comfortable, not cramped, dining experience.Already have menu in mind for the next visit!
The food is outstanding! Atmosphere and lighting are perfect for an intimate conversation at the bar or a table party. Our table had sushi rolls, Thai noodles, incredible apps nd a big salad - we ended up staying until the lights were turned on. Service was excellent and attentive. Can wait to go back .
The food was perfect! Band Bang Shrimp have a fantastic kick to them, Coconut Shrimp Toast was delicious and the sauce was incredible, and all the sushi was fresh and phenomenal! Sushi was served on a bridge that made it easy to pass around the table for sharing. The ribs came out nice and hot, and the sauce is out of this world!! Super tender - highly recommend!!I knocked it down a star for the following reasons:We had a party of 7 people, and it was impossible to hear the conversation with anyone who wasnt next to you. This is a place better suited to intimate dining experiences with 4 or less people, in my opinion.Theres an added charge to pay with a credit card that we werent made aware of (roughly 3%). Knowing this now, we will be prepared to pay in cash next time - no big deal :)Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would recommend this restaurant for small gatherings.
Just went here for my birthday. We were early for our 8:30 reservation, everyone showed up by 8:15.They told us since 8:15 that the table before us was about to leave. At 8:30 they were wrapping up. At8:45 they were signing the check. By 9pm we went over again saying its been 30 minutes of this tableleaving and now they need to do something because a whole party is waiting 30 minutes for them. They were casually just like oh your table is ready….!?! Didnt get us or tell us, we had to go back over to them and then she just sat us. The food was amazing, we loved everything. I would leave a 5 star review based on the food by itself. The service was no more than ok, really not good. He was good in the beginning, but we had a $700 dinner only to be rushed out after only an hour when we waited over 30 minutes to sit in the first place, so they didnt even offer us dessert/coffee/tea and we planned to sing happy birthday, but didnt get to. Our waiter was MIA when I was looking for him to ask for it, but the busboys were nonstop coming up to us reaching to take half-full plates away. I had to tell them multiple times to leave the food alone. We decided to go upstairs because we wanted to still spend time together since we were rushed to leave the table and didnt get any dessert, and they actually made us wait on line and pay a cover charge, again after we just had a $700 dinner, while we watched them let young girls come in from outside without having dinner go straight upstairs without waiting or paying a cover. I understand having regulars at your bar, but they ultimately had no sense of hospitality for anyone else. Ive been plenty of places that serve as a restaurant and a bar and never had that sort of experience when leaving the restaurant to move to the bar, theyre always more than happy to take us straight from one to the other and show gratitude for our business. Also, they had a videographer taking videos of us eating food all night. Every time we put food in our mouths there was a camera in our face. It was extremely annoying and uncomfortable. So my 2 star rating is for the experience I had there even if the food was great.
I had previously left a review about a red bank gift card issue. Management responded to it quickly apologizing for the situation which I appreciate. The food is always good here. I like the sushi rolls and shrimp appetizer. I also had the potstickers and those were also very good!
Writing this review literally as we just leave the restaurant because it was that bad. I’m leaving two stars because the staff was very friendly and they deserve some kudos for that. Date night with my boyfriend was a major fail this evening. They sat us upstairs in what appeared to be formally more of a dance/bar space where it felt like you were sitting in the middle of a dance floor. Place was exceptionally LOUD. I had a dirty martini that tasted like ocean water mixed with a shot of rubbing alcohol (some might argue that’s what they usually taste like, but I am an avid martini drinker and I can assure you that’s not how it’s supposed to taste lol). My boyfriend had a draft beer and it was good. To start we did the chicken pad Thai which was decent. For main courses we each got the steak and it was HORRIBLE. The sauce that it came in tasted like a mix of sugar and salt I’m not sure what exactly was going on there, and the vegetables were undercooked. We always order our steak medium rare, these steaks were essentially uncooked. The inside of my boyfriends steak was so rare it looked blue. Had mine tasted decent, we would’ve sent his back to have them actually cook it. All that for a bill of $140+. Highly do not recommend.
One of the best sushi I’ve had
Just okay nothing special. Portions were small. The spicy calamari was fake squid. I dont know why restaurants do that. Maybe its easier to prepare but its not much trouble to get real calamari. This is a reply to the owner who replied to my original statement above. Ive been in the seafood business for 45 years. I know with fake processed crab meat looks like and I know its fake processed calamari looks like. You serve fake processed calamari in uniform rings that are blind person could tell is not authentic real calamari. Before you start calling me names look in the mirror. You can fool some people in New Jersey. You cant fool me. And all my friends in the business will no longer go to your restaurant. One and done for you
Really great food, every dish we had was great
On Saturday that just passed I went to Teak restraint in Red Bank NJ to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday and was extremely disappointed. For starters, the food was mediocre at best and absolutely over priced for the quality however, if you can believe it or not, that was not the worst of the experience. I probably should’ve started with how dysfunctional, unorganized and unprofessional the staff is at this place. We booked 2 tables of 8 and 1 table of 10 – so we had a total of 26 adults with us to celebrate my wife’s special day. We had to book the 3 tables separately because for some unknown reason, when calling we got told 4 different things from 3 different employees but ultimately booked with someone that refused to book more then 2 tables for 1 person. After the subpar overpriced dinner, we were looking forward to dancing and celebrating my wife’s special day. Keep in mind our entire party was 40+ of age, married, has children and are all professional adults just looking to dance a little after the disappointing dinner we just had… we were never so disrespected and insulted in our lives! One-by-one, the staff started to “throw out” our group for no reason whatsoever! It started with my 48 year old brother-in-law who is a History Professor at Rutgers University, and accredited author of several published books and volunteers for special needs children every weekend for the past 15 years getting thrown out. I couldn’t make this up if I tried, the man doesn’t drink! He never drinks! He’s super religious and was truly there to celebrate his little sisters big 40th but was escorted to the exit while using the bathroom for “having to much to drink”. I asked the bartender who I happened to order from several times for myself and wife and tipped her nicely earlier and she confided in me that “the security here plays to much. Many times they throw people out just because they don’t like the way they look”.I asked for a manager after about 7 people in our party went missing (they were thrown out) and then after asking a second time for the manager from a security guard that I asked this 30 mins prior to, I was asked to come with him and I myself was escorted to the exit and told to leave! I explained that I did nothing wrong I only wanted to speak to a manager and that my credit card and jacket was still inside? I was ignored and not even allowed to retrieve my credit card and jacket! I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and cancel my card right away but what an overall terrible experience. As I read through the reviews I see this happened to others as well. I’m new to NJ and just moved here from NYC so I’m still learning the area but I learned the hard way with this circus of a restaurant. This is a terrible location and I strongly advise you not waste your time, save yourself and your loved ones your/their dignity and pride by going elsewhere and not supporting this staff of unprofessional hooligans and bullies. Just a terrible, terrible place.
Had to wait 25 min just to get our drink order taken once we were seated. We had the Lobster dumplings which were good. Although we had 3 sushi rolls and honestly feel that they would have been better from the take out sushi place right next door. Nice atmosphere.
Ok, so the food here was good. We tried several dishes and liked everything. We got rice and it was the largest portion Ive literally ever seen, which for two people was a waste, but great for a group. However, we came right before the club upstairs opened and the vibe of the restaurant totally changed into very young and clubby (not our scene). It was also impossible just to leave as all the people heading upstairs were crowding the exit and standing around waiting. I would recommend going for the food, just go earlier enough that you dont get stuck in that chaos, unless youre in your early 20s and interested that kind of vibe.
Food was missing that extra punch, soy sauce should not be your only flavor profile..... everything was dry and overcooked and needed more seasonings. Extremely loud surroundings..... energy is good but screaming is not.... its obvious that food is not there priority....
Always an excellent dining experience especially before a show at Count Basie. Their sushi is a nice unique change of pace and their dark and stormy drinks are a favorite. While I prefer the sushi me u the dumplings, app and dinner items are well worth it. Higher end experience... depending on the night the crowd can change quite a bit though so explore a little.
First time at Teak. I went with my wife and we sat on the rooftop section which was scenic. The food was phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. The drinks were very delicious and varied. There are a lot of different entrees to try on the menu and the presentation of the food was also impressive.Only thing I found slightly lacking was the friendliness of the hostesses, however It was a busy night so maybe they were just overwhelmed.
A little noisy on a saturday.Saturday.. b/c theres a club upstairs around 10.. but food was A1.. no complaints. Staff were friendly.. I had Pad Thai noodles w/ added shrimp, date had skirt steak/ potatoes, and we had rib empenada and chicken for appetizers.. We were Happy campers, satisfied, and definently took home leftovers we cant wait to eat tommorow. Excellent!
Was looking forward to it all day. Great atmosphere. Pleasant hostesses at the entrance. We were seated quickly, sadly it was downhill from there. We sat upstairs, inside. Waitress was not very friendly. Appetizers were lukewarm. Main course came out, I stuck with the chicken, it was alright, but my husband ordered a dish that was terrible. Maybe it was an off night?
I have been to Teak many times, the service is always great as is the food. The only reason I give it three instead of more stars is because last time we went with another couple, the sat us upstairs. It was a 7:30 reservation, hardly the club time. However we sat through a dinner with loud club music and it made it difficult at best to have a conversation. So beware of where you will be seated, if you are not a fan of this. I understand that the upstairs turns into a kind of chic club like setting later in the night, but if they are seating upstairs for dinner, can they not wait till the people are done with dinner to switch the atmosphere and allow people to enjoy a great dinner and be able to have a conversation without having to read lips or shout?
We had become big fans of this place but our experience this week was terrible. We had an 830 reservation and after we were seated our waitress came over to ask us for our order but seemed honestly irritated by us just being there. The appetizer and main course came out extremely fast, was over salted and both of our noodle dishes barely had any noodles in it and was mostly just eggs. They seemed so keen on getting us in and out that we finished in half an hour on the one night a week we get to go for date night. We were so turned off by the entire experience that we didn’t even want to order another drink, just paid our bill and went next door to char. They even proceeded to charge us a credit card fee which they have never done before. I get that it was a “late” reservation and everyone is struggling but they close at 10 and we were on time for our 830. Extremely disappointing. We won’t be back
Went to the nightclub upstairs to celebrate a birthday, josh from vip management was amazing supper helpful and on top of everything. Had a great night and will be back to do it again.
I had a glass of wine spilled on my shirt and dish so not the best experience, however the food was delicious pre-bath. Their sushi is creative and decent quality. For your value the main plates are much better portions than the sushi. Cocktails are also very interesting and tasty.
So disappointed lately, this was our go to place, not planning a return anytime soon. We took our granddaughters there a couple of weeks ago who are Sushi, Connoisseurs and usually enjoyed our visits in the past.We arrived for our reservation and within 45 minutes has appetizers, sushi rolls and were done.So so loud🥺
The atmosphere in this place is nice. It is a perfect place to get a few appetizers and listen to some live music. However the food, especially the rolls are just average and overpriced. The service is just average too. I have walked in several time to order take out and I was standing at the front desk for some time before anyone came over to take my order...annoying. I have seen some great talent performances here. They have a nice area upstairs where you can relax and listen to music. I now go to the sushi place across the street from this place (better quality food...authentic taste...fresh ingrediants...about the same prices), then I head back to Teak to listen to whatever is going on. I would eat here if the place across the street was closed.
So sad!! Lately, been a disappointment. Teak is my absolute favorite for sushi! Have always loved dining there, sushi is so fresh and service is always exceptional. We would always sit with Ryan at the bar if possible! Awesome bartender!Lately though, I’ve tried to order numerous times for To Go and they decline business??!! We call well before closing to come on in and pick up. I recently asked on one occasion and they said the kitchen was too busy to handle more orders. You would think with everything going on and more people ordering to go and not dining inside the restaurant, they would prepare to accommodate for to go orders. Such a shame!!!!
We came here to eat in the wine cellar for a larger party and it was outstanding! The waitress was on point and very friendly. The food was amazing: edamame dumplings were amazing! The rock shrimp was delicious, as were the lettuce cups. I am going to dream about the drunken man shrimp noodles - so good! Definitely recommend this place!
Nice atmosphere, good food (not great), interacted with one manager who was so nice, one who was do you see how busy you, we dont need to be nice to you rude.On a Friday night, we were so rushed so the upstairs could be turned into their club scene. Table service starts at $300. By midnight, not one table had been bought. The crowd ranged from old to young and everything in between. Dont bother trying to order any of the speciality cocktails - all of those ingredients are thrown out so they can only make quick throughout the night. Didnt care for the mix of music personally.
The sushi is good here. Atmosphere is pretty calm on a Thursday night. My server was very nice. They have Pepsi not Coke though. I got the spicy tuna roll, cucumber, salmon, and spider roll. They were all good but I didn’t care much for the spider roll.
We went there yesterday. Got seated quickly. But it took 25 mins to get anyone to take our order. My boyfriend left an honest review, but the manager replied that it was Mothers day and they comped our drinks. 1st..Mothers day is not an excuse for poor sevice..as a manager if thats your stance..you should not be in this business. 2nd..I had one drink..and it was not comped. Also the sushi is bland. Never will go back esp with a LIAR of a manager
Let me put this in perspective: I came here for my 21st birthday. I am from New York City. The food was good and our waitress was good as well. Service was quick. However, my party and I came to this venue for the sole purpose of a meal and the bar upstairs. We spent a questionable amount of money on food. To be denied the access to the upstairs bar because I wasnt 23 years old was absolutely absurd. The drinking age in New Jersey - let alone the REST of the country - is 21. I couldnt believe what I was hearing when the bouncer nastily told my group we couldnt go in because of my age. Am I not of legal age to enjoy an alcoholic drink at a bar? Ridiculous. Needless to say I wont be returning any time soon.
I love this place. it is a family favorite. my whole family is vegetarian and we always have something to eat here. the edamame dumplings and the crazy monkey sushi are insanely good. the staff is also very courteous. would definitely recommend
My neighbor recommended Teak Restaurant I finally tried it for the first time today. The food was delicious and portions are huge. Excellent service and I was happy that theres on premises parking. Good for 🍾. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food and nice ambience. We had the crispy rock shrimp, pineapple fried rice and the pad thai. All came out delicious. Megan was wonderful with her service, courteous, friendly, welcoming and suggested great food choices. Will keep coming back!
Excellent food and excellent service. We got there later than we wanted, but called to let them know we were stuck. They held our table, made excellent food recommendations, and got us out in time for our show. Never a dirty dish or napkin left on the table for more than a minute. We had Korean fried wings, dumplings, shrimp, and poke salad on the small plates. Everything was delicious! Well be back.
Teak is the best restaurant in Red Bank for Asia food. They have freshest and best prepared dishes you can find. When the weather is nice all the large windows are open and it feels like outdoor dinning. The staff are friendly and most helpful to please the customer.I highly recommend this establishment.
Amazing food and fun atmosphere. We were offered happy hour drinks on the great outdoor patio. We ordered sushi and some various Thai dishes. All the food was delicious. After dinner we stayed for the band. This restaurant is fun and reliable. Would return.
I am giving them one star for atmosphere and that is it. We arrived at 8:00 p.m., they close at 9:00 and we were told the kitchen will be closing in 10 minutes if we want to think about what we want to order for our meal (this was at 8:10) Ordered the lotus buns, pork pot stickers, and the snow white roll. The pot stickers tasted like they were stuffed with Italian sausage and they were very dense. The snow white roll was flavorless, good thing the soy sauce gave it some sort of taste. The lotus bun was ok. Our server, Mike, kind of sucked. He made us feel very rushed and pretty much passed by our table as he was speaking to us. It was as though we were bothering him. We asked for our check (because we already wasted enough time on tasteless food, poor quality, and bad service)and were told that we could order dessert even though the kitchen was supposedly closed. It then took about 10 minutes for us to receive our bill. The food was just ok. The service was poor. Would not recommend. We had to stop at Wawa on our way home for a couple more snacks. I have had better sushi from our supermarket. I mean just look at the responses to the negative reviews....no wonder the staff is horrible. They have no positive modeling.
I had my daughters sweet 16 dinner with her friends here. Our server Vinnie was very accommodating and the food was fabulous!
I placed an order to go on Sunday and asked for a pear salad and sushi, asked for ponzu sauce and got soy sauce, the salad had the dressing on when they should’ve put it on the side and it was just horrible and soggy in the not even 6 minutes drive home. Was very disappointed, as I really enjoy eating at Teak and love their food & one of my go to dining places!
We have eaten at Teak a few times before and have always had great meals, with fantastic service! Last night was no exception as I hosted a birthday dinner for 12, in the perfect private room. Our server Lauren treated us like royalty from start to finish. The owners were welcoming and made sure all our needs were met. As usual, everyone loved the Asian Fusion food from appetizer to desert!! Lauren also made sure our food allergy guests had pleanty of Gluten Free options. Thank you Teak for an incredible evening!!!!
Ive been here numerous times. The sushi is fresh and the drinks are on point. The night life is also pretty awesome lately. On Fridays and Saturdays they have a DJ who plays great music so you can dance, drink and enjoy the rooftop area.
I love Teak !!!! The food quality is excellent. They offer many gluten free options. Asian food is very difficult to find gluten free, but Teak has a few options. The pad Thai is excellent. There is outside seating during warm days. It is beautiful to sit outside. The staff is friendly and helpful. Some items on the menu could be priced better. It helps to go on a Monday when items are half off. (Not drinks or desserts)
We had reservations, but saw a good number of people in the waiting area. Parking wasnt easy to find, although we visited on a weeknight. Good sushi rolls and signature sushi dishes (in particular the roll with deep-fried soft shell crab) as well as tasty cocktails. I was missing the original Japanese Kewpie mayo, which adds a lot of umami to sushi. The wait staff was extremely nice and attentive, and the food and drinks came quickly. The place is unfortunately a bit noisy with a reflective ceiling, making it hard to have a conversation.
Enjoyed the dinner here ! Not a huge selection but every choice was solid. Korean style wings and Spicy Kani salad was very good! The signature rolls are all an excellent choice, nice atmosphere and attentive service too!
Absolutely love their calamari salad and lettuce wraps! Unique sushi combinations and fresh ingredients throughout the entire menu. Super attentive bartenders! Check out lunch and happy hour, as its a bit quieter and you can just relax and have some great food and drink. Overall, I highly recommend Teak. Its a true red bank staple, and I imagine will be for years to come.
Enjoyed the roof top happy hour experience! Apps and drinks were tasty and service was on point. Would definitely come back!
Lovely atmosphere, food and amazing drinks at the bar with wonderful customer service! We had very little time before a show - and the bartender made it all work out so quickly, we were very happy with the way everything worked out!
I like Teak. The food is good and well presented/prepared, and the service is generally very nice and efficient. The bathrooms were clean and everything looked sanitary. But Saturday nights are ... loud. Pandemic prices are also very high. Its an enjoyable night out, but a little pricy for the present ambiance. Looking forward to mask-free eating!
Food was delicious. Went there on an evening when the weather was perfect to sit outdoors. I wonder if the restaurants have a professional spray to repel mosquitoes because the mosquitoes were dining also. I was bit a couple of times. Great friendly service though. Definitely would go back I have been there before. Teak was my out of town guest choice in which they wanted to revisit.
Havent been here in years, took my husband for his birthday. Food was good no complaints there, music is way too loud you have to yell to conversate, not a great way to keep germs down in a small place, the waitress was not great, she rushed us to order, never checked on us, seemed as if though she had presumptions she wouldnt be tipped well, been there done that seen it all. Flagged her down for a drink since she didnt check on us, needless to say I overtipped her to make a point, when your spending that kind of money its not much to ask to have a friendly server. Unfortunately because of the service I wouldnt return.
Really nice Asian fusion restaurant with a diverse menu and great service. I had a reservation, but mistakenly made it for the wrong date and they had no problem seating us right away to make up for my error. Our server welcomed us and the first thing he asked was if we were seeing the show at the Count Basie theater down the block. As that was the exact reason we had chosen this restaurant, it worked out perfectly because they knew to keep our service moving. Not in a pushy way, but just the right touch of meeting our needs, while ensuring we had plenty of time to make the curtain. Food was delicious and filling, and presentation was beautiful. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience here.
Food here never fails to impress-a variety of options to choose from and new things added to the menu frequently. Ive been coming for the past 20 years and everything is always great.
Its a good restaurant, just not at the price specially for alcohol (unless you stick to beer). To top it, they add about an 8% fee to pay by credit card.I do know what I paid and to top it they are rude too when I highlight this.
Eddy was very nice when it came to spending money on getting a table, but the rest was far from it. When the night was over I signed of on my $1,000+ bill and asked for my card and my drivers license back which they took from me in the beginning of the night. Eddy kept telling me that he doesn’t have my license. I politely asked him to find it, when he go in my face and told the security guards to kick me out. I was grabbed by security and pushed out of the venue while my friends were enjoying there time. Another security guard of whom I forgot his name got very aggressive and was grabbing me and pushing me out. It’s safe to say that this is not the last time they will be hearing from me. Horrible service and only nice when it’s time to take your money.
Friday night the music was spectacular by the DJ. Food is always delicious and very well prepared. Watermelon mojito and old fashion made to perfection. Theyve done a excellent job with social distacing and keeping g every safe and sanitized. We dined by the open windows and it was a great, breezy evening.
Went for a quick bite on 05/05/23 , service & food good but...discovered some type of foriegn matter in the soft drink . Yuck 🤮 looked like mildew ?? Never had any issues with Teak before and hope this is an isolated problem.
Great place, food and atmosphere is astonishing. Upstairs a nice mix of age groups very nice music for all age groups.Downstairs lovely place to eat dinner the bartender Teddy great guy. Peter maitre d always tries to find you a seat if you dont have a reservation you cant beat that. And lets not forget Megan Megan is one of the best waitresses in the entire place anything you need to make it perfect dinner she will help.
Excellent!!! We had a lovely time! Service was great! Loved our waitress! Food was sooo good...the edamame dumplings were really good. 1 entree was late but the waitress gave us a free dessert to compensate. They brought out a delicious chocolate cake with ice cream with a candle for friends birthday. We had the roti and nutella ice cream, too. It was heavenly!!! All of our servers suggestions were spot on amd delicious! Highly recommend this place and to make it even better Mondays are half price on food!!
Well its weird. Some of their food is amazing :the sweet potato sushi rolls and rock shrimp. Other dishes come with dry chicken. Hard to do for stir fry. Once we had their goya and it was amazing. Then it wasnt weeks after that. Theres also the cheapen of dishes :the shrimp roll had so little shrimp in it. It was like a rice roll instead. So while the presentation and atmosphere and drinks make this a pop spot, its not exactly the food depth I would like.
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Teak!!! Everything is always delish...amazing sushi and all their cuisine. Edamame dumplings are my absolute favorite. I could live off of them alone. Great atmosphere, decor is upscale and fun. Rooftop bar and smart, knowledgeable servers. I give it 6 out of 5 stars!!
If you could only get one thing here it should be the edamame dumplings. They will be the most heavenly thing you have ever eaten in your life. Pineapple fried rice was also very tasty and filling. The lettuce wraps I didnt really like. They werent as flavorful as everything else and their was a little something off about their taste. Service is always amazing as well. Although by the time we got to the end of our meal we were told the kitchen was closed and we couldnt get dessert. I felt that the server should have mentioned that before it was about to happen in pre-order our desserts. Other than that it was another fantastic night at Teak. Highly recommend.
Perfect experience. Amazing sushi and hot food, excellent service, great drink menu (beer, wine, cocktails, sake) and dessert. Also very nice atmosphere. This is the best Japanese (fusion) restaurant in Central NJ.
Excellent sushi, Excellent saki, beautiful waiter, and overall impeccable experience. They have some of the best food I have ever eaten. I went there with a friend before a show, and I was blown away by the atmosphere and the food. I called only 3 days before New Years Eve trying to make reservations for my guest and I. I knew full well this was one of the best, most sought after dining experiences in the area and I was probably not going to get a table so late in the game - however I was very cordial and explained that this was really important to me, and that it was my gift to a friend, that I wanted to give this experience to her on New Years Eve.. and he was super cool and said he’d make room for us as long as I agreed to have the table ready by a certain time. It just so happens, that time was exactly when we needed to leave anyway. Everything was really perfect that night. I couldn’t have been more grateful. You have a beautiful establishment, your food is excellent, and your staff are truly amazing!
Roof-top bar was so nice! Atmosphere is wonderful. I would highly recommend this place. Nice professional crowd, youre able to have a conversation without yelling. Bartenders are great. Food was good. Looking forward to returning.
Went here yesterday after having an emotionally turbulent day. Definitely was a mood booster. The waiter was being trained by an experienced waitress, which was awesome. Although, I’d like to open my own chopsticks next time. 😬😅 the food - ✨🤩 and the cocktails, 🤌🏾✨(smoked rosita). We only ordered the appetizers this time around. The French onion soup dumplings, KFC, calamari, crunchy shrimp, and pork belly buns were all yumtastic. 🤣
We love this place! Great vibe, great sushi and other main dish options as well. The front room and outdoor patio are great spaces to enjoy company with a fantastic meal.
Teak was our first restaurant visit for a post stay at home orders, in person dining experience. They have a large open air tent in the lot next to the restaurant outside. The tables are spaced out very well, even allowing for distancing while walking through. They strung market lights inside the tent for ambiance which is nice. The second floor balcony is open with tables as well. You have to wear a mask when going inside to go upstairs or to the bathroom. All the servers are wearing masks and gloves. They even have their menu online via a QR code scan you take a pic of from a card on your table. Touchless ordering! As usual the food was delicious. I had the salmon and hubby had the drunken man noodles...both our favorites. It was nice to be out after all this time!
Tasty, good service. A bit loud, as they squeeze quite a few people into a relatively small space. The Thai coconut mixed drink was delicious. The old fashioned was not.Pretty solid, standard asian fusion place, where I think you’ll pay a bit extra for location and purported ambience.
This place was airtight. The server was able to meet our time constraints and its very close to the Count Basie Theatre. I had a burger which was a bit too charred if you ask me but the person I was with enjoyed her sushi roll. The drinks were well made though. If it werent for the burger I would have added a star.
Very nice choices on Teak menu and full service bar. Our favorite foodie option here is the available real black rice rolls. Also... You can substitute any dish with rice with the black rice, also called the Royal Rice. Amazingly better in flavor and much better from nutrition points of view.Very good is the pineapple fried rice made with the black rice option requested by us.Also had the poke with Salmon and Tuna, and two favorite deserts:1. Coconut rum custard, and2. Creme brulee.Just either make reservations or when the nearby Theatres are closed, or visit when they are in their slow times... Mostly during weekdays lunches.
Great club and restaurant. Downstairs shuts down around 11. By that time, up top is really snappin! Great DJ, usually a good looking crowd. Drinks are great! No other local place that can compete with the scene they have going on! Definitely worth checking out. Bartenders are also amazing. Anthony & Rio & Ryan are the best, hats off!Get there early before 10 or youre waiting in line for atleast an hour. Still, worth the wait!!
My friends, wife and I had dinner here last night and all of the food was amazing. We got the potstickers, bbq Korean tacos and edamame for apps and they were a great start to the meal. We then got a few of the sushi roles and the drunken noodles with chicken which all were a hit. We finished the meal with the chocolate lava cake which was a great way to finish off a wonderful meal. We will definitely be going back here. On top of that the service was on point!
This is a nice restaurant with very good food. We had a large group and the servers kept up with us very well and got all our orders right. Its a little upscale and trendy. The place turns into a club after 9 on weekends, so it does get loud.
I love this place, Great staff, great food, great specials . We went there tonight and were surprised to hear they had a half priced menu. Would have gone there anyway but wow. Everything we ordered was great and our server Megan was sweet fun, knowledgeable and prompt. Highly recommend on any night.
We visited last night. Everyone in our group was very happy with their food. The service and atmosphere were also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again.
Great spot if youre in Red Bank! Cool atmosphere and great sushi…definitely more of a Japanese vibe food wise. Prior to covid the upstairs was a really fun club, but now its indoor and outdoor tables, which isnt bad! DJ plays good music!
Phenomenal food, delicious cocktails and great atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants!
Ive been going to teak for probably a little under ten years now. Whats not to love about it. Great drinks and food and service is always nice. Highly recommend the edamame dumplings. I crave that dish probably once a week.
Really cool scene and delicious food. Recommend the rock shrimp and French onion soup dumplings. We had a ton of sushi and the one with banana was surprising refreshing
I’m perfectly ok with waiting in line… however what I’m not ok with is having people “ young half dressed women “ constantly cut the line, and being let in in-front of you. It didn’t just happen once. It happened over 15 times. Not only did I notice it.. but my entire group as well as the group in front of us. I felt like it was a Seinfeld episode. Cartwright!!! Ended up getting in finally to find out there’s another line inside… we left and went to centrada. I suggest you check the cameras and have a talk with security.
This has to be one of my favorite date night spots in Red Bank. I truly have a fantastic time with each experience. The service is stellar, Alex who has been our server more than once, reccomends the most delicious cocktails and entrees. We love the coconut chile martini and the spicy margarita. You can also never go wrong with one of Teaks seasonal old fashions (please bring back the maple banana 🍌🥃). Appetizers and sushi rolls are consistently fresh, delicious, and plated beautifully. Entrees like the pad Thai, salmon, and short rib dish make me hungry just thinking about them. You have gone wrong if you missed out on the edmamme dumplings. Thank you for creating a memorable evening every visit!
My boyfriend and I went out to dinner and we didnt have reservations but they sat us right away. Our waiter approached us and didnt introduce himself...just asked do you know what you want? and we were both like what? as in drinks...food? and he was so rude and he replied back both So we both said we wanted two of the cocktails from the menu. Ten minutes goes by and we still havent seen the waiter or received our drinks. Then we find him at another table all happy and chatty and bringing their drinks;etc. My boyfriend asked where our drinks are and the waiter replied, Oh I forgot Now we are waiting at least 25/30 minutes for drinks. Basically the waiter never came back and we just left. The only reason I didnt give it 1 star is because I like the bar and club upstairs. Besides the fact that the bouncers act like its a high class over the top club they ask you insane life questions about your ID then request other forms on top of that.
Always loved TEAK. This past night they completely messed up our order. My brother in law sat there and had to wait for his food while everyone else ate. While I understand we were a large party, this was NOT okay by any means. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
Excellent food prepared and plated very well. I started with KFC Korean fried chicken wings which were excellent, six wings per portion. For a main course I had the calamari salad which had an abundance of fried calamari. The apples and cashews worked very well with the miso dressing.
Had dinner reservations here for a date with my girlfriend. Was stopped at the door by a bouncer immediately asking us for our ID’s at the door … for dinner?? My girlfriend and I are each 30 years old and the upstairs bar area wasn’t even open. The bouncer then let a group of 20 somethings walk right on in without showing ID. Needless to say we decided to go elsewhere. Great first impression.Response to owner reply: apparently you did not read my review … we were there to EAT DINNER, not drink … but were stopped at the door to show IDs as if we were doing something wrong. Even if we were there to drink I have no issue having my ID checked by the server or bartender but to be stopped at the door is so tacky and try hard. Upstairs bar wasn’t even open. Not a single popular competing NJ restaurant (Catch 19, Cuzin’s, etc) has a “door man” checking IDs to have dinner. What a joke.
As usual...a great place made mediocre by lack of wait staff and Hostess response.
This has been second time I have been to teak its my daughters favorite she lives in the bank . I gave a 3 star not because of service or food. Here it is The table was very sticky and the two table set up had a wind chill coming through so from the window which made our food cold so from now on I will get a bigger table not a fan of the table for two you can barely fit the water and drinks 😂
Don’t not go to there on Monday. They do have a Stupid Rule that if your party does not arrive together, they will not give you a table to eat. You have to go to the second floor and get a small table. You can only eat salads and sushi on the second floor. Our third person was running about 30 minutes so we even offered to start ordering and eating but we were told it was the “Monday night rule” to only seat complete parties. This is the most stupid restaurant rule I have never seen before. I think their boss may not be worried about losing business though. We will definitely never be returning.
This was our third visit to Teakand by far the WORST!We were greeted by a truly uninformed waitress that lacked the knowledge to do her job. She had no clue as to what accoutrements were available for the beverages. After waiting an eternity for her to finish her personal conversations she finally came by for our order. Both items were not available and we had to wait for her toFind that out.Owning several restaurants I know that items that run out are placed on an “86” list and told to all wait staff. These items were not available at all tonight.Tonight was our last visit.
I love Teak! The food is amazing. A great selection of sushi and to die for wine! The new roof deck is a great addition. This place is not to be missed when in Red Bank (and worth a trip if youre not already there!)
Great food, nice atmosphere, Super noisy. Don’t expect to hear your dinner companions but you will enjoy the food for sure.
There’s always a feeling of being rushed here. Do not tell me about how busy or backed up your kitchen is , that you need all orders taken all at once . I don’t blame the servers , let management take stock of how you make your guests feel. I’m here to spend not just while away time. As a backdrop it was my Birthday celebration and our family of 8 left there feeling regret as to why we ever bothered going in . It’s happened once before on a dinner date with my wife and I let that pass .Listen to your Guests on a legitimate concern .
We had such a great dinner at Teak, we went back the next afternoon for drinks, coffee, & dessert! Coconut flan is out of this world. We wound up splitting all our appetizers & meals because we couldnt decide what to get. EVERYTHING was delicious!!
I actually live in post falls Idaho and I ordered food had it wrapped up brought it on the plane with me just so I could show my gf what real Spanish food taste like
My first visit. Very trendy ambience. Excellent service. Beautifully presented food. We were a party of 12 and there wasnt a complaint in the group. I was a guest so no comment on prices.
Had a great experience at Teak! Kamsey and Carly were super nice and accommodating. Great sushi and drinks and an awesome rooftop vibe with a nice view of beautiful Red Bank. Highly recommend for everyone!
Slow service and staff commented there was no shortage to blame after we inquired when we did not get chopsticks (or any utensils for that matter) with our sushi. The food also was not fresh (e.g. brown avocados in sushi). Not going back.
Food was outstanding. Great flavor and nice options on the menu. Had the shirt rib tacos for appetizer (only come set 2), Asian ceasar salad, which was delicious and I normally dont like salads, naruto roll which was cucumber wrapped sushi roll and was outstanding, and then schezuan NY strip to top it off. I took my wife so we split all of this and it was enough food for both. Again, flavors are amazing and we enjoyed everything. For dessert we got some kind of Asian pancake with nutella ice cream. The pancake was delicious ice cream was a bit bland. Food cooked to perfection. The reason not 5 stars was the weight staff was either tired or just didnt care. Took a while to get anyones attention and our waitress, even though she did not do anything specific to be bad, was just plain bland. I do not usually expect anything from the staff but a smile from time to time would not be a bad idea. Maybe she had a bad evening. Not sure. Would be willing to go back to see if atmosphere is different.
This was my first experience at Teak and it was amazing. The front door bouncers were so amazing. Great place.
I tried to go here the other week, made a reservation for 2 at 6 P.M.. After a long and arduous search for parking in the adjacent municipal lot, I had seen a minimum of 12+ tables not seated. Upon entering I gave our host my name. I have to admit he was quit rude, never looking up from his pad and never acknowledging us with a simple pleasantry. He then told me my reservation was for 2 hours later, sorry but i’m not senile yet and still maintain a great mental stability. I told him I made my reservation at 6 P.M. via Open Table.Based upon my observation of 12 vacant tables I inquired if he could seat us. Responding, yet again with any form of eye contact I was told “no”.I’m sorry but the restaurants that I have owned previously I had always sat my open tables, turned them over and re-sat them again and again through out the time we were opened. Call me crazy but having an open table without it generating income is surely inane. We left.Any meal that we decided to have hear was already tainted by the host’ horrific personality.I’d suggest leaving this restaurant alone.
