The service here was absolutely awful.My friend went to the DJ booth to request a song, as instructed to by the bartender. When she got there, a member of the security team told her she couldn’t request a song because “they only accept requests from hot girls.”The man who told her that, pictured, truly had no room to be discussing one’s looks. Not only was his statement incredibly rude, but our entire group promptly left the bar (stopped spending $$) and we’ve been telling all of our friends/families/colleagues about the service we received here. There’s plenty of other places to go in St. Charles/surrounding area with nicer employees that won’t directly criticize someone’s looks.In addition to having incredibly rude security, the floors were disgusting throughout the bar, the game room had no darts left, and the DJ’s remixes were a train wreck.

Good Live music, decent food, good list of alcohol. We went around 10 on a Friday night. Not busy but Ive been there around the late night and it gets pretty wild when the DJ plays. Nice waitresses.

This place was disappointing, to say the least. Went here for the first time on NYE. I understand that it was a busy night, but service was too slow, spent 45+ minutes trying to get the bartender’s attention (actively trying to call her over) and didn’t receive my drink for close to an hour. Drinks were overpriced and underwhelming. Security is on a power trip, there’s no reason to harass someone for not letting you rummage through their wallet on the way out of the bar. Atmosphere was similar to a college frat party; bad music and wet/sticky floors throughout. Unless it’s your 21st birthday, I’d recommend going somewhere else.

This place is cheeks. came here after the st patrick’s day party with friends. we were there for not even an hour and my sister had fallen asleep on her boyfriend. she woke up and had to go to the bathroom. on our way to the bathroom a guy stopped us and told us that we had to leave because of how “drunk” my sister was. he wouldn’t even let us go back to the table to get our purses and jackets. one of the bouncers also kept opening the door to the women’s restroom so see if my sister was done yet. he kept telling me that she needed to hurry up. she’s on the toilet??? and i had just ordered drinks so yall owe me like $15 bc we didn’t get to finish them. they went back and told our friends that we were getting kicked out because my sister puked??? also if any of you bozos that was involved is this and is reading this, you clearly don’t pay attention because the alleged “puke” that came out of my sister was a spilled drink done by someone who wasn’t even in our party. yall are wild for the way you treated us.

On Saturday night they had one great band that starts at 8PM. For the older people. After that a great d j with great sounds. For the young.

Awful music, the owner thinks he’s a DJ. It’s really disappointing. I would compare the music to radio Disney. This place with a lot of potential. This place is fine for nightlife other than the music. The DJ is the Owner, he purposely plays music that keeps the crowd stagnant. I’ve been there frequently because of friends recently.

Love the bar prices here.Bathroom clean.Havent tried the food yet.But the drinks were dreamy awesome.I wish the prices were posted.Oh I paid 5 dollars for songs. Next thing dj took over the sound system and not 1 got played but I was there 3 hours. It was a lovely time either way

Went out for drinks with friends and stayed for hours dancing the night away. Huge dance floor, great music and great service. 10/10 vibe. 10/10 drinks. 10/10 service. 10/10 drunk by the end of the night.

Was visiting home after moving west a year ago. My friends decided to take me out on the town and it was amazing until our vibe was slaughtered by the manager who insisted my ID was fake just because it wasn’t from IL. I had to threaten to call the police just so he would give me my drivers license back because I couldn’t get into the airport without my ID. It was Saturday night at 11pm and the bar was completely dead and boring. Boo.

My friends and I visited this place this weekend on Saturday and I felt it was only right to leave a review. This was my first time here and I was treated with very kind servers and bartenders. The food was great, and the drinks were poured standard, not too light nor to heavy.There was a instance I would like others to know happened however and would like to clear the air. There was a band that seemed to be scheduled for Saturday evening that the manager (I presume) no longer wanted to play as he felt as if the language and lyrics of their music was inappropriate. The band members were extremely rude and inconsiderate to what looked like to be the manager. The band playing before hand did indeed not have I would say the best genre to be playing at a establishment such as this. They would be more fitted for a dive bar or rock in roll metal bar in my opinion.This seemed to be a GOOD business and my girlfriends and I will be returning.

Very interesting place. A typical bar with a variety of clientele and then it turns into more of a night club late at night on weekends. Pretty laid back environment regardless. People just come to have a good time. The live music is usually pretty bad, but the DJ is usually good.

Its for sure a younger crowd. If over 30 may seem out of place after a while

Decent bar and place to hangout. They had a live band the evening that I went, but the music was too loud that I had to cover my ears and drink outside. Not technically the bars fault, but the bartender couldnt hear me unless I leaned all the way over the counter. Drinks are a tad expensive, but the vibe is nice.

I absolutely love this place! Drinks are yummy, food is delicious, and tons of fun. I really enjoy being able to go out dancing with my friends and not have to worry about creeps bc the crowd here is fantastic. Definitely not your average bar, a complete night out experience all in one place, which saves my heels for dancing instead of bar hopping.

This is probably one of the most underrated bars in St. Charles. People dont know what theyre missing if they havent been to Alibi! The food is amazing (I recommend the fish tacos), the drinks are fairly prized and really yummy, and the staff is very nice and accommodating. I am at this bar every weekend and have NEVER had a problem. Reading these other reviews on yelp and other sites is shocking because 99% of it is false. Definitely a good venue to bring a big group to because of the size and if there ever is a sporting event they have more TVs than any other bar in St. Charles. They also have 2 pool tables. The bands are fun to listen to during dinner time and the DJ they have is really good for the night life. I would recommend this bar to everyone no matter what your age is!

Staff is very friendly with quick service with both food and drink. Great chill place to see live music every Friday and Saturday night. When the DJ comes on after the live music you really feel alive. I will 100% be going back to this bar not only for the atmosphere but because of the friendliest staff in St. Charles

Disrespectful staff and disappointing DJ. They could have a full dance floor and I would see at most 2 people dancing. I expected more from the owner being the DJ, but he is as much as a let down as the whole establishment. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

Owners very hands on. Always walking around and asking how the drinks and service is. Making sure everyone is happy. Bartender are great too. Very fast with serving you. The live music and DJ is always a plus also. Highly recommend​. 5/5

For how many people come to this place to go clubbing every weekend you would think they would have a better DJ. This DJ they have there every weekend plays 2002-2009 pop songs. Where’s the house music? People club cause they want to dance, not snooze. Change this places’ name to Club KIDZ BOP.

I have been here many times and the music was always good I came in on 1/7-1/8 and it was the worst DJ I have ever heard and the group of 10 people I came with thought so as well. I’ll probably return one more time but if the DJ is this bad next time I will never come back

I get it.. business make money off of drunk people.Bartender said 10 dollar minimum so i said fine give me 2 drinks ill give one to someone else before i know it she charges me $24 for two... not a huge deal but Ive witnessed her do this to multiple people.As far as an honest business practice. Scummy...

Love this place! The one blonde skinny bartender is very great.. she works super fast compared to other bartenders in this place. The bald guy is also a really nice and fast bartender. The dj has gotten better.. before he would play the same songs every weekend. I recommend this place I come here atleast every other weekend.

Good service but I wasnt at all impressed by the DJ (I rarely am though). The waitress we had was very nice and attentive even though the place was really crowded. I was much happier before the DJ started while the atmosphere was more relaxed. It was good enough that Ill give it another try, though maybe on a night without a DJ.

Oof. Not worth your time as a customer. Okay food for high prices. Little to no atmosphere, and patrons who seemed uninterested in the entertainment the restaurant provided.So, if you’re a band, not worth it to play here. Heard what they pay... it’s not adequate esp when I watched them pay full price for their drinks and food. They don’t promote your show either... didn’t even accept the Facebook event cohost invitation. Anyone who showed up must’ve been from the boosted ad the band did. Big Yikes.

Hit or miss. One night I went here it was a great time. The next few nights were disappointing. With this bar it is what is. It is a local bar that closes at 2AM with nothing really exciting to make you want to come back every week. Food is good, service is fine but techno and rap are never a good combo.

Slow night. The server/bartender was nice. The band was not so good. More people sat outside.

Food is terrible. You might think it is hard to serve a flavorless hamburger, but they managed to do that for everybody in my party of four. And all of the burgers and fries were cold. Except for us the place was completely dead empty at 7:30 pm on a Friday night--so with only us to serve it seems all the more reason the food would be fresh and hot, but it wasnt. Maybe it is a good late night scene if you are looking for a sleezy dive sort of place.

This place started out great, but the bar tender got a bad attitude with anyone who ordered water. Took 15 minutes to get a cup of water and was told any more cups of water would be 2 bucks. After my whole group had been ordering drinks all night. Just a tip if someone asks for a cup of water give it to them. Unless you want people throwing up in your establishment. Very rude.

UPDATE: Alibi needs a new DJ. The music is blah. Ive been several times since my last review and its gotten worse. They just need a new DJ.My review in the past:Lively crowd, great music , beautiful women and great drinks. Others say the drinks are pricey but i think its well worth it. Drinks arent watered down.

I currently made a visit to this establishment. I am a 31 year old from Texas. Upon arriving the guy looked at me and laughed I didnt really understand what that was for. After handing him my ID he stated it felt funny, not sure how the licenses up here look but I shrugged it off. The machine misread my ID although Im not sure if it was him or not. When I asked to speak to Management he refused. Im not sure if it was because I was the only person of color trying to coming in and my sweatshirt read Oakcliff, but It seems he genuinely had a problem with me and it was before I even stepped into the establishment. I do not recommend if this is how they treat POC.

Bar service is amazing and they make the drinks good but… Security is terrible and don’t pay attention to what’s happening around. Last year this girl kept pushing a guy and I was just watching and letting it be and I thought the security was going to ask her to stop because he saw what was happening but didn’t do anything. I decided to step in and confronted her and i was the one who got kicked out when it should’ve been her. In other words this girl was taking advantage and pushing a guy who was just trying to go around her. Hate when girls take advantage of guys and it really annoys me. There was another incident by the bathroom and security wasn’t even aware of it either. Security you need to do a better job!

Great environment, bartenders are quick and will not leave you thirsty.Rich knows how to throw down on the tables. Just needs some more Bad 🐇 😁

I found the staff at the Alibi Bar & Grill to be friendly, courteous and professional in every sense of the word. And close to points of interest if youre looking to explore the neighborhood.

Staff is upbeat and fun & service is fast with both drinks and food!! Love the live music Friday and Saturday nights and of course the DJ never disappoints!! Will always be a place to have fun and meet new people!!!

A bar with live band 9-11 then a club with DJ 1130-130. Place gets poppin at around midnight. Before then u can meet a girl or a guy you could dance with when she comes on goes from under 25people to over 100 after 1130. My favorite “club” outside of naperville. It’s like a mini cheap Chicago club.

I just move out to St. Charles about six months ago. I really enjoy going out to eat and tossing a few back from time to time. Ive visited most places in the downtown St. Charles area and pretty much enjoyed them all, but Alibi is definitely my favorite!It reminds me of a Super Lounge I used to frequent in downtown Chicago. The food is pretty good there too, I dont drink too much, but LOVE the orange mojito!Its also the only place that I found I can take my gf to dance. She loves to dance and on Fridays they have pretty good music (spun by a live DJ).The place is surprisingly BIG once you enter. It has two huge bars, seating area for dinner on the far side, a stage and sizable dance floor to your left as you walk in, and what seems to be a banquet room located in the back.All in all, I will definitely be back and dont have to drive all the way to the Gold Coast to enjoy a night out with the lady!

I generally come out to the bars every weekend with friends to have some drinks and let lose from a long week. There is a nice strip of bars along this block that are all fun and different in their own way. I enjoy coming to alibi because they are the only bar that has kept their pool tables along the strip, and a dance floor! They seem to keep things updated and fun. Ive noticed they even have the slot machines and a fun photo booth now! The staff had always treated me and my friends with respect and its nice that they have live music followed by a dj with a pretty active dance floor. All in all im glad to have this bar close to home!

Alibi is usually decent. If you like dancing and you have some friends to go with, itll be a good time. If not, their drinks arent more expensive than Alley at least. I usually have a good time, results may vary, but they try! Keep in mind security is strict and hours are odd because of past issues.

The dj plays through a set list instead of reading the crowd, which killed the dancing every 10min or so. But as the only bar with a dj and dance floor now, what choice do we have. Bartender Mike is excellent, very attentive, and extremely polite.

This place is terrible the bartenders claim that they gave my husband his debit card back my husband told them multiple times that they did Not the bartender claim he was getting loud with her and they threw him out of the bar while outside the bar we had multiple people point fingers and laugh at him saying that he’s just drunk and he’s wrong I went to a person standing there who I thought was maybe the owner and asked can you please go in and doublecheck to see if my husband‘s card is back in there I checked his wallet and did not see it The owner or whoever he was came back out and said they did have your card the whole time. He didn’t once apologize. I then said can you please pay our bill since they kicked my husband out for no reason it was $7 the guy then staring at me like I was speaking in a whole different language Did not respond just continued to stare at me.The service and people are horrible. Zero stars!!!

One of my favorite bars in St. Charles. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because last night I ordered a gin and tonic from the bartender with the dark hair and dark beard. I paid $6.00 and he gave it to me. It ended up being a cup of water with a lime. I came back and when I told him it was water he just looked at me and seemed surprised I noticed. He made the gin and tonic and gave it to me without saying one word. The other bartenders were great but I would never order from him again.

Fun atmosphere, good drinks and great music, but the service was a little slow and the food was pretty bland. The food menu is also much smaller than whats listed online.

Good vibes and no complaints about the drinks. The security is veryrespectful and I have never seen any trouble in this bar, but the bar tenders need to spend less time talking to eachother and more time checking to see if people need drinks, especially when the bar is packed.

Went to see Invisible Cartoons, great sound, great atmosphere and it was easy to get drinks. Only downside was some water issues, but it is a good venue for a st. Charles bar crawl

Found this place while blackout the other night. Its been 5 years since I saw my ex here for our first date. All the memories came back. It was a rough break up. The outdoor patio had a great atmosphere.

Large dance floor, good enough bar (I drink wine and their selection was limited). Lots of high tables and excellent filet mignon sliders, and Shrimp Tempura.

Bouncer held my girlfriends out of state ID ransom and forced her to pull up personal information on her phone just to get it back. Im 31 shes 27, were not kids. This was very rude and unprofessional. Needless to say they didnt get our business once we had her personal belongings back in our possession. Only go if you want to be treated like second class citizens and not customers.

Literally vodka you can get at a grocery store save your money

Atmosphere is decent but I had to wait like 30 mins to get a drink and paid way too much for it. On top of that, the bartender was rude and ignored my friend for like an hour.

Everytime Ive been here the DJ has been terrible. Its a 21+ bar that plays music that I thought was childish when I was 14.

Alibi is a great place.. the food is awesome, competitive drink prices, and a friendly staff. on friday and saturday nites they have a great dj...... its the only bar in dt charles to dance at....they also have the most professional bouncers in town....

My friend was physically assaulted by an employee at ALIBI. When I went to management for assistance, the manager Stacy smoked a cigarette while laughing about the situation. We had to call the police and I would recommend staying away from this business.

They Don’t know how a real ID looks like..my friend was 23 and the security guy said it was fake. We asked for the manager, but he didn’t bother to help. They should start using a scanning device, instead on relying on a incompetent bouncer.

I’ve been there a million times and just moved out of state to Missouri and the bouncer at the door was dumb and has never seen a MO ID before so thought it was fake and I couldn’t come in. Educate them on what an out of state ID looks like.
