My husband booked me a Mother’s Day special. I love visiting spas around our new city so I was excited. I arrived, got my robe, they don’t offer beverages. The place was a little dirty in the common areas.Services: I had a massage, facial, and mani/pedi.Last minute they cancelled and rescheduled the facial. The massage was ok if you like a back rub with aggressive shoulder pokes. Very choppy! It just didn’t seem like she knew the anatomy of the body. Then I had a huge gap because they cancelled the facial omw. I was annoyed because I originally wanted my services broken up but since it was a Mother’s Day package they weren’t able to do that. But they could cancel my facial last minute. I decided to overlook it because thankfully, it’s at the Pearl!I went to get my mani and pedi done and she starts by saying there’s no time for my massage and we have to make it “quick.” In between steps she’d check her phone which grossed me out too. Like why are you touching the nastiest thing we carry then touching me?As for the massage, I told her lucky for her I’m not much for foot and hand massages but at the spots I usually hit up they at least make up for that. It just felt cheap, dirty, and sleazy. I’d gladly pay for a service but it didn’t feel luxurious. It didn’t even feel clean😢The mani quality was terrible, the pedicure was nice.I was hoping for service quality since it was at the PearlNow I have to go back for my facial and I’m not even that excited about it.Just thought people should know because I’ve visited other spas and they are not this pricey. I usually have to ask for no scrubbing and massage and I’d like to reiterate that I know I don’t enjoy this portion of the service but the manicurist was imo rude about it and kind of rushing me. The lack of cleanliness irritated me. On top of me not being able to separate my services but they can reschedule me last minute was too much too ignore. I appreciate good service. Kind of unfortunate because the Pearl is so nice and fun to be at, I was hoping it would be my new go to spa.Update: Niki reached out to me and was very apologetic. She wanted to make sure I was happy and I told her I would go into my facial with new eyes. I did go to the newer location which did feel less crowded, cleaner and more open. If you go I’d suggest this one and I did like my facial, it was done by Kaylee. They offered me things as an apology but Niki’s call meant more to me and I wanted to judge it for what I came for which was a basic facial. Regardless, Kaylee did do this little machine I think it was called Nu face and I didn’t notice much of a difference. Apparently a $15 add on fee. I don’t think I’d get it. I was however very interested in the hydration facial she was describing to me (clears pores out and moistures) so if I don’t find anyone else in town I may check that out. I will say Kaylee was very knowledgeable. I am not sure if I would go for the massage and mani/pedi but I did enjoy the facial at the newer location (it’s still inside the Pearl area).Due to Niki’s Customer service call I bumped up my rating up two stars (initially I had one star for the mani/pedi deal and cleanliness). I do realize things happen but at the price point I can’t over look it. I do think it was nice of Niki to call me. I feel bad for writing this but like I said it’s pricey and I am not sure I would’ve gotten a call if not for the review because I did mention it up front before leaving and the call did not come in until after the review. I also did sense her wanting to make things right by calling and so I would say customer service was there. Not only that she was easy to talk to despite how awkward the subject was. Kaylee was wonderful I actually like the facial and would go back to her. The facial, it did not feel choppy it felt like she had done it for a long time and everything was smooth, I do wish there was more focus on the extractions but I did enjoy it. If anything I would definitely go back to see her for that hydro facial.(Pic is the newer building common wait area - very clean)
I’ve only ever had the mani/pedi twice before today and I am so disappointed in my services today. 1. They are horrible looking, a child could have done better. 2. She cut my finger with the file from filing so aggressively. 3. My toes were on fire from the acetone being wrapped in such high heat. 4. $114 service plus $20 gratuity was definitely not worth it.I was asleep when the services were over so I briefly saw them half awake before being told to wait in waiting area for them to dry and it’s dark in there so I couldn’t see them. It wasn’t until I got home and was sitting outside in the natural light that I saw how horrendous they looked. I am so embarrassed to be walking around like this!I absolutely love this spa but after today I will be canceling my services.
I was able to book an appointment same day as a first timer ( yep my 1st session, Ive only ever had chiropractic adjustments ). Kasy, my masseuse introduced herself so welcoming, very educational on parts of my body I cant see or really feel out myself. I chose The Come Back package - She explained & always asked permission to explore other places & points of pressure along with the force & her technique used. I was taken care of from my crown to my toes & front ( which i didnt expect as a newbie ) + back ( of course ;) ) I believe when hands feel healing, voices are soothing & places are welcoming - become a member & of course I did, Ill be back just in time for a birthday girl session.
What a wonderful and relaxing experience. The staff were all very pleasant and professional. Received one of the best facials ever from tech Katherine Alexander. She listened to all my concerns and she knew I was claustrophobic, so immediately turned off the heat on the bed, and knew not to have steam on during facial. She used all cooling creams and applications. It was absolutely wonderful and my face was smooth and glowing when I left.
Excellent service. Very professional. The ladies there are very polite and the whole aroma was so relaxing. Had a full body massage done by Rosa, she knew exactly what I needed once I explained my lower back pain. Can’t wait to come back next month and start making this a routine! I would recommend this to anyone trying to have a “self date” for themselves!
Staffing is terrible. The spa itself has always been enjoyable, however, my appointments have been canceled or modified more times than I can count over the past year due to poor staffing. I pay monthly for a membership. The membership credits expire after a couple months which is fine but the fact that my appointments consistently get canceled due to “ a family emergency” jeopardizes my credits. On Saturday June 22, 2024, I was scheduled for the “change your life hydrafacial” at 07:30. My esthetician arrived 53 minutes late for our appointment. I was notified 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time that my esthetician was running late. The manager offered me a free add on for the inconvenience. This was about the 5th time I was offered a free $10 upgrade due to an “inconvenience” caused by the spas staff. This was completely unacceptable. The first four or so staffing issues I had been subjected to, I accepted and was forgiving but this past time was absolutely ridiculous. I am paying for a $250 service. A $10 free add on is not acceptable. I was the told that I could stay and wait for my esthetician to arrive but that my appointment was then to be reduced to a shorter facial service. When the esthetician arrived 53 minutes late, all they could say was “Thank you for waiting for me.” Anytime I try calling the spa, no one ever answers. I have called 8 times today without being able to speak with anyone. There are certain services that require clients to call to schedule instead of being able to book online. I have a credit that expires in a couple of weeks (which I would have redeemed at the beginning of June but yet again, my nail service was canceled due to a “personal emergency”). At this point, I only continue with my membership because of two staff members who have always provided consistent service. Shout out to Ashley G. in the nail area and Melissa in the MedSpa who have always been phenomenal!
This review is more so for the fantastic massage therapist Ernest than the actual spa, although the spa is fantastic as well.I’ve never been a big massage gal, so when I had my first appointment with Ernest, I was nervous. I told him I wanted pretty light pressure since I was new and he delivered. Whenever there was a tender spot, he explained to me what it was and guided me through some breathing excercises until the knot was gone. He was amazing for a first timer. Now, the truly incredible thing about Ernest is that he can be gentle gentle OR he can give you 10/10 pressure all the way through. My husband complains about how no one can give him a deep enough massge and I am going to send him to Ernest! True jack of all trades and he does it all while educating and being aware of how your body is reacting.Love Ernest and love the spa.
The experience was excellent!! Everyone was friendly and professional. The massage by Lisa Marie was way better than any other I have had from other spas. Robes, lockers, showers, aromas, shoes, pre-foot soak, and hair accessories, all were included in the price! You can’t get that at any spa that I have experienced before. I would give 100/10 hands down!
I had the best massage ever from Mike. Wow, when he could tell everything about me from my knots was amazing, sleeping on my side, my migraines etc and took real care of me to get them out and have me feeling amazing. 110/10 I highly recommend.
I had the signature massage with Connor recently, and it was great as usual. She is friendly and professional, always asks if there are questions and concerns before the session starts.
This was my first time getting a facial and I was more than pleased with the entire experience. Katherine is an absolute delight. She is very friendly/welcoming and she was super engaged with what I had to say about my skin. I was able to relax immediately and enjoy the Tailor Made facial treatment. I also appreciated the friendliness of everyone in the front of house. So many businesses now do not prioritize face-to-face, human interaction, so to be treated like a top-notch guest on my first visit did not go unnoticed. Thank you, Hiatus, for being a quality business that I will definitely be recommending to others.
The front end staff was very attentive. Nice and quiet place to relax. My husband wanted me to stop complaining about the spas not meeting standards and did his homework. Found this place and he did a great job. Claudia was very professional when she was doing my body wrap. Bethany was great with my mani and pedi. Well definitely be back.
I had been wanting a true spa experience for so long and that is exactly what I got. I truly felt pampered from beginning to end. Eternity gave me the best massage of my life and my face was rejuvenated by Jenna. It was worth every penny. Highly recommend!
This was probably the best mani/pedi Ive ever had! Leslie was amazing and 2 days later my feet & hands look like I just walked out of the spa. I cant wait for my next appointment!
To Whom read this... Please do not come here.Believe me! Its not worth the time and money. The spa is small and Very LOUD! Front Desk Ladies, are rude and for a UP SCALE SPA. They dress very messy.I would recommend the Woodhouse Spa or La Contera Spa.
I always feel like a princess after a massage at Hiatus. Very relaxing environment. Cant wait for my next appointment.
During our staycation at the Hotel Emma we booked a couples massage at Hiatus. We had a great time, it was super relaxing and came out feeling rejuvenated.
I love how they are tucked into The Pearl complex. I stumbled onto them when I was there with my tour group and got an appointment about 3 hours from when I came in. I have never had a dry pedicure, meaning they wrap your feet in wet towels rather than putting your feet in a tub.You are leaned back in a chair for all services whilr you could relax. It was fabulous to sit there and listen with my headphones while my nails and my feet got done without sitting uncomfortable at a table. That was my first experience with us and I would love to have it again.Im hopeful someone in St. Louis might start doing this as well.Everyone at the front desk was exceptionally friendly as were the manicurists and pedicurists. It was very clean, neat, and calm and relaxing.
Booked a massage, facial and mani/pedi for 4pm. Had to wait 40 minutes in between my massage and facial. Would have been longer than 40 minutes if I hadnt gone to the front desk to ask how long until my facial. Did not like my pedi/mani. The polish is not done well and looks blotchy. Have cuts on my toe from being filed too roughly. All together spent 4.5-5 hours at the spa. Also, got a call the next day saying I owe $70 for polish removal
I was totally expecting a typical nail salon experience and what I got was beyond that! This place made me feel so pampered. Everyone one was so professional and very friendly! Jayline did such an amazing job! My nails turned out so beautiful and I’ll be asking for her next time. This is definitely a place for much needed relaxation! There are much closer salons to where I live but nothing beats this! I will happily go out of my way to have my nails done here from now on! Hands down the best nail experience I’ve ever had!
I really had a great experience with all services (facial, massage, mani and pedi), the staff was very professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions and concerns. The place was super cute, clean and neat. The tea was so delicious with perfect amount of sweetness, I could tell it was not regular sugar but the substitute was good and not with a weird after taste. Overall it was very pleasant. Definitely would recommend and would come back!
I had my nails done by Ashley and she was amazing. She was very detail oriented and made sure the nails were perfect (which was incredibly appreciated because even a little imperfection on my nails tends to drive me crazy). I got the Eco Gel which has lasted me nearly 4 weeks and they are still looking flawless!
I guess I didnt expect that paying $90 for an epic pedicure would only include about 4 minutes of massage. Also, I saw no bubbly at the end as it claims on the website description of the service. To top it off, the gel polish that I paid an additional $29 for was already messed up when I got home. The relaxation lounge was quite crowded and youre sitting on a hard bench up against a wall. The only reason Im not giving this place 1 star is because I also had a massage here and it was good, although I am very sore and feel almost bruised in certain areas today. For the money I spent, I am very disappointed, sadly! Will not be returning...
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a hiatus spa and received my care from Rachel. I must say that my experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked into the cozy and inviting space, I felt instantly relaxed and at ease.Rachel was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable in their craft. They took the time to listen to my concerns and tailored the session specifically to address those areas of tension. Their technique was impeccable, applying just the right amount of pressure to alleviate any pain or discomfort without causing additional soreness.Throughout the session, Rachel created a serene atmosphere with soothing music and calming aromatherapy scents. This added element truly enhanced my overall relaxation and allowed me to fully unwind during the treatment. Not only did Rachel provide an exceptional physical experience, but they also demonstrated genuine care for my well-being. They offered helpful advice on stretches and self-care practices that could further improve my muscle health between sessions. After leaving the appointment, I felt rejuvenated both mentally and physically. The effects of the massage lasted for days, as I noticed a significant decrease in muscle tension and improved flexibility.Overall, I highly recommend Rachel for anyone seeking a top-notch therapeutic experience. Their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to providing an exceptional service make them stand out among others in their field.
The man who gave me a massage talked about happy endings and other extremely vulgar topics the whole massage. Then the spa charged me which was absolutely appalling. When I called in the morning to speak to management the manager simply said she would speak to the man and refund my money but did not offer to make it right or express any true sympathy that I was essentially assaulted for a hour and a half. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had.
My favorite spa. Great pricing, amazing membership deals. Very professional and attentive
My masseuse Lauren was amazing and made my first time getting a massage a wonderful experience! She was professional and knew what she was doing. I felt at peace and my body felt so relaxed after the massage. I had knots that she took care of and my back and shoulder pain were gone afterwards. Truly was amazing and would definitely do it again and recommend everyone to do it as well. It was worth it. The atmosphere was relaxing, the music was calming. I felt a lot of Seratonin.
I love Brittany at Hiatus. She has been my skincare guru for several years. She is AMAZING! She is always so welcoming upon arrival. She personalizes a skin routine based on your needs and makes sure you are comfortable during the service. If going to Hiatus I would absolutely book with Brittany for the best experience!
Everyone was pleasant from start to finish as always !! The injector Melissa is a superstar!!! She’s the real deal!! Not only was she great she took the time to explain the procedure to me which I appreciate. Love, love, love, hiatus.
Hiatus is an amazing spa whether you are getting a mani/pedi, massage, botox or even microneedling. They have so many great services and the Circle membership is an amazing value. However, it truly is the staff that make this place special! They are always kind, professional and so good at what they do! They always make me feel like Im getting a personalized service - one that is tailored just to me! They are suprisingly affordable and are always having great specials! Im so fortunate to have them in my neighborhood!
I really enjoy my visits to Hiatus spa at The Pearl! The relaxation room with cucumber water or tea starts out the visit with a moment to take a breath and settle in. Every experience from massage, facial to mani/pedi has been amazing, and I love participating in the HCircle. Great place for a girls day out!
I’ve had 3 facials so far and have absolutely LOVED, especially with the add on peel! Interested in trying a mani and pedi soon. The prices are fair for the treatment and services. Free parking is a definite plus!
I booked a Knockout Massage with Mike, and it was exactly what I needed! Mike set the tone with me at the very beginning to ensure there was never too much pressure being applied. I highly recommend the Knockout Massage if you are in need of a deep-tissue massage.
I always get my facials with Brittany and she is AMAZING. My skin has never looked better. I always go to spas while on vacation and I have never found an esthetician that compares to her. She is a rare find here in San Antonio. 10/10 recommend!
I had the best massage of my life at Hiatus! Rosa is incredible at discovering problem areas and coaxing them into releasing tension. Seriously unbelievable. I will be back! (Monthly?)
Mike did my massage, and he did an amazing job! I will definitely be back.
I’ve been a member for over a year now, and I always find the environment soothing, beautiful, and the staff kind and professional. Huge complements to Anagrecia Guajardo who gave me one of the best treatments I’ve ever experienced—her tailor-made facial left my skin glowing and me feeling revitalized and better educated about my skincare. Highly recommend!
My score = 3.75. The provider and quality of service were very good: professional, friendly, competent and well-trained.However, Ive noticed over the last several months that the service time is shorter than advertised. For example, an advertised 60 min massage or facial (or whatever), is actually about 45 min. This is because, often the provider is a couple of minutes late to meet in the waiting room, .. then by the time we walk to the treatment room, provider shares procedure info and asks questions, provider leaves while one prepares/positions for the treatment, and then provider returns to treatment room, about 10 - 15 min, and sometimes longer!, have passed.Id rather have the advertising be honest/realistic and state the services as 45 / 50 min. One is not paying truly for a 60 min service. Also, as with any spa, some providers are better than others in terms of competence, friendliness/manner, and waiting time. Otherwise, this Spa is very nice, clean, and in a great location at the Pearl in San Antonio.
This could have been a great experience. I received a gift certificate with my daughter, worth $400 and each one of us was supposed to choose 2 sessions each. We both wanted a massage and then for the second item, she wanted body wrap and me, facial. I explained by phone, that we received this gift certificate, and they said that it was very difficult to program them all in the same say so we agreed to split up massage with the other sessions over two days. When we arrived, I filled out paperwork and gave the certificate. We were taken to our rooms and had our first sessions. When tipping upon our exit, I mentioned that wed be back for the massage and the manager said, oh sorry. The gift certificate is only valid if all activities are done on the same day. Also, you owe an extra $100 for an upgrade to your facial. I mentioned I wasnt offered an upgrade and she even brought down the facial technician who was so embarrassed. It was all so unprofessional as the facial technician said that she did say it “when she was exiting the room”. A finally, the manager decided to give me “membership price but still charged me for a ridiculous quality facial, $200, and took the whole certificate, giving $100 credit which she mentioned would only cover one more session, not the two massages. Although the technicians who work there are knowledgeable, the staff in front is disingenuous, incompetent, and with a manager who doesnt know the meaning of quality customer service. At prices like these, I’m surprised, and it was all a huge disappointment.
This is the only disappointing visit I have had in my many visits. Kacy did a good job, but that was the only thing good about my experience. In order to accommodate your scheduling I was asked the day prior to move my appointment from 12:15 to 12:30. I was happy to do so. Although I was greeted when I walked in, 15 minutes prior to my appointment time, and my name was repeated and acknowledged I guess the person was on her phone or distracted, because she failed to check me in. Luckily, Kacy knew I had never been late to an appointment before, and she came to check on me. She was told that I had not checked in, but she did not accept that and walked to the lounge area to check. There I was, just about to give up myself.Though Kacy did a good job since we started about 15 minutes late, I feel like she was rushed and not herself. The room we were assigned was extremely cold (acknowledged as a known issue by both Kacy and the attendant at the register when I mentioned it as I paid) and I remained chilled during my entire massage, even with the heated table. When I mentioned all this to the attendant at the register, her response was remarkably underwhelming.I had decided to take a pause on my membership, and this was the last of my membership visits. I will not be in any hurry to re-establish a membership with this being the experience that I will remember.
I always have amazing experiences at Hiatus. I recently had to cancel my membership after being laid off from a job, and the staff was very empathetic and helped make sure I could take advantage of my unused credits.I had a massage and body wrap with Jules and it was phenomenal! Then I was blessed with a facial by Shantal, who was not only a talented esthetician, but was also very kind and understanding towards my relationship with my skin. I deal with skin picking when Im stressed out, and post-layoff from a job I had been at for almost a decade... well, you can probably imagine the stress Ive been under. Ive been so embarrassed about my skin that I was considering cancelling the appointment out of shame, but Im happy I didnt.Shantal was very calming, empathetic, and did some sort of magic on me. Right after the facial, it looked like I had some sort of surgical wrinkle removing procedure done on my marionette lines, but it was all topical and rooted in her technique and product selection! It blew my mind. They are still not as prominent as of a few days later, but the thing Im most impressed with is that all of my picking-related wounds have healed completely. All. Of. Them. My skin looks the healthiest it has in years, all thanks to Shantals magic. Im seriously shocked by the results and cant wait to go back. This is the first time Ive felt confident instead of self-conscious since February.Thank you so much to the entire team for taking care of me even though I cant hold a membership at this time. I will definitely be back once Im in a better position!
If anyone is looking for a true deep tissue massage- one that will truly knock you out and bring you back to life, please please go see Claudia! I’ve never experienced a better massage in my life. Her hands did all the talking and had me sign up for a membership! Thank you Claudia!!!!
I choose this place to celebrate my sisters birthday and also I invited a friend of mine to get all of us a great massage supposedly. But Unfortunately we got the last spot of the day 7:45 pm on Black Friday and not even one of us have a good massage for the price we pay for each person $120 we expected a good massages for that price. We are not sure if those people were tired to be the last ones of the day, maybe, but definitely 100% We got a way better massage for half of that price somewhere else ! Very disappointed because I expected to have a great time with my sister in her special day !People are friendly and the environment is nice but massages are NOT good are all, for me sound like those people didnt have experience giving massage . And we all experienced the same. This place need to hire expertise massage therapists, who will provide quality and pleasant moment to relax for the price they charge .
Brittany and the facial services she provides are amazing and well worth the time and money. She is professional, knowledgeable about what products to use for my skin’s needs and she makes the whole experience so enjoyable.
They have poor customer service up at the front desk and they are overpriced. For instance, the receptionists do not tell you that you need to schedule extra time for gel removal in order for them to complete your service. As a result, I had to settle for a regular pedicure and felt rushed the entire time. The person after me was told that she wouldn’t get the leg massage to make up for it. This seems like a pretty basic question for people booking a gel pedicure (since most will already have gel). They also called me the day before our appointments to tell me that one of our pedicures had to be cancelled because they didn’t have the staff. I wouldn’t expect this from a higher end salon where you are paying 100 bucks for a pedicure. Very disappointed and will not return. I know that other people love this place, but I found them to be unreliable, overpriced, and unorganized.
Aaron Rojas gives the best massages hands down! I literally got a membership after my first signature session because I knew I’d be coming back. He does a great job making you feel comfortable and is a good listener if you’re a bit of a massage talker like me. 5/5!
I had an amazing time at Hiatus Spa, San Antonio. The location is beautiful and staff welcoming. I had a facial with Shantal and she helped me understand my skin and how to improve my skincare routine at home as well. The facial was exactly what I needed. I left Hiatus with glowing skin and feeling fully relaxed. She’s a true professional as an esthecian and a customer server. Highly recommend!
Disappointing, dumpy, and dirty. Really substandard setting. Low ceilings, changing area is dirty, crowded, small and without amenities. The one toilet was dirtier than a public restroom at a fast food restaurant. This place is so far below the quality standard in the Pearl area. It’s sad!Therapist was great! Just too bad the overall experience ruined it.
My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience here, specifically with Adrian! We followed him all the way from Austin, where we first met him and his talents, and had to book time with him asap in San Antonio! And we are SO glad we did. I was really suffering with a lot of tension in my shoulders and back and Adrian relieved me a lot of my pain. He is very intentional and he knows what he’s doing! Both my boyfriend and I agree he is the hands down best masseuse we’ve ever been to! We can’t wait to plan our next trip back!
I truly love Spa Hiatus, and I only come here for massages. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Yesterday 4/22/23 I wanted to do a One and Only Pedi. This service really didnt feel like I got what I spent for. The lady who did my nails was super sweet and friendly, and I did tip. Just usually when friends of mine brag on pedis, they get all these things and mind you, I have never got a pedi in my life. When I did tell a friend about it she was even like I didnt get what I payed for. To me, I think I should have gotten more out of it.... All I got done was a nail buff, hot towel on my feet, polish and a cuticle cut.... Definitely not worth $70... She also did file my big toe super low and it does hurt still... So I think Ill just stick to my massage services I get done here and no more pedis.....
I have been coming to Hiatus as a member for about a year now and I’ve had their couples massage, skinpen microneedling, and other services. If you want to relax and enjoy yourself for some self-care. I highly recommend Hiatus.
Customer service! The culture and atmosphere as soon as I walked in … set the tone for the rest of the appointment!Courteous welcome from all front staff … very welcoming and warm employees who really infuse a personal side to make one feel comfortableMike solidified my first time experience by ensuring I return and recommend others. He focused on my troubled areas; maintained a personal/professional dialogue the entire session but was funny along the way. Ultimately, his prescience alone was everything I needed. I’ve been to different places for massages to include other cities and states but this experience was different and it started with culture! To the management team … keep making people the focus of your efforts.
I had an absolute lovely time at this spa & will be back the second weekend of July. I am from MD, and was looking for a relaxing massage after all of my recent traveling. From the moment I checked in, everyone was so pleasant and helpful. It was my first time and they guided me through the process. April, who gave me the massage, was a total sweetheart. I Even days later, my body feels so much more relaxed. I would recommend this spa to absolutely anyone- not to mention it is in the cutest location ever!
I’ve been going here for about a year. I mostly do massages. So far Vivian, Northrop, and Caesar have been great! There is a lot of difficulty with trying to book 7 days or less in advance. You are usually pushed out 14+ days, especially if you’re trying to get on a specific persons schedule. So book well in advance. There is some inconsistency with quality and/or experience but that’s typical so just ask questions before you book so you have someone you feel will meet your needs. Don’t expect easy parking at the Pearl either so arrive earlier since you’ll have to park further. Overall it’s a very solid spa for massages!
Great quality but a bit pricey. Facilities are clean and relaxing! They have appealing showers but there is no option for hot or cold so it just ends up being way too hot. This happened to me on two separate occasions in separate showers. Better to just avoid the showers all tougher.
With it being my first time, I had a lovely experience. From calling in to book my appointment to closing my tab, the customer service team were so helpful and friendly. My massage therapist was Jessica and she was FANTASTIC! She was friendly, patient and really knows her stuff. She was very attentive to my preexisting issues and really took care of my well-being while in the room. I would love to come back and book her again.
Finding Hiatus and implementing the membership in my life has completely changed my quality of life. I absolutely love this place. You are treated like a Queen with robes and tea, there are quality products, every service has been exceptional and the Hiatus team is top notch. Get a facial with Katherine and do tips and toes with Anagrecia, you won’t regret it!
I had a wonderful deep tissue massage with Lauren Fuller. She was conscientiousness and made sure to check in with me periodically to make sure that the pressure was perfect, leaving me feeling completely relaxed.
I have been a loyal client of Hiatus for many years and yet I choose to come to this location over and over because most of the time it’s amazing. I have been to a few other locations but staff keeps bringing me back here.I recently booked a day at the spa for a friend and myself, we both live two hours away but we make the drive because like I said the staff is usually top notch. This time was a little different, we had a service three years ago that we both fell in love with. The service has been unavailable for three years or so due to a mechanical issue first but then Covid ruined the service. Fast forward to now and the beloved Vichy shower room is now open for services again, I booked a day for two thinking we were getting the service we have been waiting years for again and come to find out we weren’t getting it. My guest had her service first and when she was done she informed me that it wasn’t the service we had before and booked for. I went up to the concierge desk and explained the situation and was basically brushed off by a young lady named Savanah. She tried to tell me I was wrong about what I booked and we went back and forth until we both had an understanding of what the case was. I felt a little insulted that she didn’t believe what I explained and required me to show her on the Hiatus app on my phone. I did so and she saw for herself what I was trying to say. Let me just say hopefully someone from corporate reads this and hears me when I say the app is trash. Please fix it. It only works 20% of the time. It’s inaccurate almost always which results in me having to call the spa which defeats the purpose of the app. So Savanah goes and talks to I’m assuming the manager to see what can be done since scheduling doesn’t permit for me to get the service i thought my guest and I were getting, she offered to reschedule me but like I said I drive 2+ plus hours to come here, another thing is scheduling is a nightmare now and for two people nearly impossible unless you book months in advance. The manager offered a $50 credit but in reality that doesn’t even cover my gas to get there. I was really hoping to be taken better care of seeing as I’ve been coming here for years and it’s very inconvenient now. A credit for two body glows in the Vichy shower would have been more appropriate in my opinion. We were both very let down just for the fact that we’ve been waiting 3 years for the Vichy shower room to be open again and our entire day at the spa was centered around the Vichy. Hopefully someone can make this right.
Had an appointment for a facial and unfortunately I completely forgot (life happens sometimes) and had to call to cancel. I was told right away by that I would be charged the $35 cancellation fee. I felt uneasy about it, so I quickly picked the phone up and called back to regretfully ask that my membership be cancelled.Instead of trying to make it right or salvage the client relationship, I was dismissively told me Id have to go online and email terminate, then quickly got hung up on midway through me saying ...okay, thank you. This left me with a sinking feeling that Im sure anyone would have if they encountered the same situation. While I do realize you have dedicated staff (theyre all so nice!) thats counting on your clients to show up on time, I think its also important to keep a good relationship with your clients, especially if they take the time and courtesy to let you know they cant make it.Not only did I do the courteous thing by calling to give a heads up (something many people wont do), but my husband and I have used our services at Hiatus Spa for months now. I consider myself to be a valued customer, as I have spent more than the standard amount of money at Hiatus. On top of having a monthly membership, Ive purchased products, paid for additional services on my facials, gotten multiple massages nearly every month, brought my husband in,etc. Wish they wouldnt have stuck a $35 cancellation penalty on me, but it is what it is and I just dont feel valued enough to keep my membership. :(
I absolutely love this place. It’s peaceful, beautiful, even tea is a must have for me each time. Highly recommend trying the massage with the vichy shower once they resume, such an incredible experience! Jeremy…by far my favorite masseuse ever period and the only one I’ve gone back to (and plan to regularly) out of every massage I’ve had at any place over the years. His hands are magical! I’ve never felt so damn good after a massage like I do with him. Can’t recommend him or thank him enough!
I went to the Hiatus location at The Pearl in San Antonino. I had a facial with Brittany, and she did a great job of consulting with me on what was best for my sensitive, aging skin. As she went through the facial, she explained the products she was using and why. When the service was over, she made suggestions on how to enhance my existing skincare regimen, without trying to push product or additional services. My skin really did look and feel so much better. As to products available in Hiatus retail area, the selection of skin, hair and wellness products is vast and well-stocked. This was only my second time at this location, but Im really impressed.
I have been getting facials regularly at the Hiatus San Antonio location for the last few months. The last couple of them were with Shantal and she is simply amazing. She really listened to my concerns and I can truly feel the care she took to work on my skin each time as if it was her own. Shantal explained each step of the facial, which I very much appreciated. 100% would recommend Shantal and the San Antonio location for anyone looking for a place to pamper themselves.
Great experience! Was very relaxing and they were super helpful in recommending products that will work for my skin.
Holy cow!! This place is amazing! We are visiting from Illinois and I wish this spa was closer! I ended up booking a Pedicure in the morning online, and was able to get in the same day. A friend I am traveling with was able to book herself a facial. Both of us felt so pampered and welcomed even though they knew we wouldn’t be back! We had tea or water offered as we relaxed. Then we went to our services and when we meet again we were both relaxed and loved how amazing we were treated! Everyone needs to spoil themselves here!!!!
Hiatus Spa was able to accommodate me for a deep tissue massage on a same-day request. Not only was the place very inviting, high-end, and clean, the massage I received from Mike by far was the best I ever had! He knew exactly what and where to work on to relieve my pain points. This was my first visit and it definitely wont be my last!
Really nice facility and location is convenient but for the price I was not impressed with any of my services, nails came out with visible grooves and bumps. The setting is nice, you get a headset, eye mask and blanket but unless youre reclined fully it feels uncomfortable like an airplane seat. The massages therapy was probably my favorite but I guess it depends who you get; my mom didnt get any extra pressure from the $20 deep tissue add on while I requested firm pressure and did not have to add on any additional fee for it. No regrets but nothing to rave about... Note they cant process apple pay/Samsung pay. Only card or cash.
Claudia Torres is an amazing masseuse. She helped relieve pressure in my neck other massage therapists haven’t been able to work out. She listened when I asked her where to focus to help me and adjusted my massage accordingly. I SO appreciate her!
I found the relaxation room seating to be very uncomfortable (I have scoliosis) not relaxing. The massage therapist greeted me and brought me up a flight and a half of stairs to a room. She ask me a few questions then left the room for me to remove my robe and get on the massage table, but she didn’t return for 7-10 mins. Although the pressure was fine the massage was just ok. Call me disappointed you would be correct. They are trying to be an upscale salon but leave room for improvement.
Cannot get anyone to answer the phone or emails - trying to set up massages for 6 in July and no one responds.
Ernest was professional and did a great job. He did exactly what I requested.
Had body glow/ hydration and facial. I don’t remember the girls I had, however from checkin to check out the experience was AMAZING!
Overall, great spa. The staff is very kind and it’s a very convenient location. I booked a facial as a bday gift to myself and it was lovely. For the price, I didn’t get as much out of the treatment as I normally would have back in NJ/NYC. But happy with the experience overall. I would recommend for a little “treat yourself” day.
My boyfriend brought me a package for a valentines day present. This was my first time ever at a spa. As soon as I walked into the place it was very peaceful and relaxing. I ended up getting Brenda to do my facial. She was so sweet and she ended up telling me every step to make sure I was okay with it. After facial she had a cup of hot peppermint tea waiting for me which was super delicious.
Got the signature massage by Lauren and it eas AMAZING!! First off, super easy to schedule an appointment and communication was great. I received a call for confirmation and received a call when my masseuse wasnt going to be available but another one was. Customer service was great. There are reserved parking spots for Hiatus customers in the Cellars parking lot so parking was free. I didnt know this so luckily I asked. I dont know how many spots are reserved for Hiatus so ask before going. Bathroom area is beautiful and they have majority of the amenities you need before or after using their services. Massage was wonderful and I feel so relaxed afterwards. Highly recommend!!!
Receptionist Savana scheduled my facial and massage incorrectly for both my husband and I. No apologies no sympathy and just a smerk. So much for a relaxation massage. The place is beautiful and treatments are great. Unfortunately having personnel like that brings the establishment to a low grade
I love hiatus spa, my esthetician Brittany Franco is one of the best. I lol forward to my time at hiatus for the relaxing atmosphere and I can always count on not only relaxing but looking good after a super facial with Brittany. Definitely recommend 100 stars.
Friendly calming environment. The staff always knows how to assist me. Very professional
For the area that this is in, the spa is pretty average with not too many amenities in comparison to other spas (and I go to a lot of nice spas). The reason I gave 5 stars i my knock out massage with Cesar was AMAZING!! He did a fantastic job of working on the areas where I had tension, applied the level of pressure I requested, I felt heard. I’m not sure I’d go there for other services at the prices they charge but I would definitely go back to Cesar.
Environment is so relaxing and everyone is always friendly. My massage therapist Anna Hernandez is so good helping me release my tensions without me letting her know she feels where I need the attention the most. Glad my daughter introduced me to this place. Just wish they had other things provided here where I dont have to travel out of city to try. Acupuncture is something I want to look into as well.
Positive first impression with pedi and even joined as member for about four months. Services are very limited at the San Antonio location and appointments more so. Providers are very pleasant. I tried range of services in hopes of finding something worthwhile…ended up thinking I should just stick with mani/pedis then realized the person I really liked was no longer going to work there when there were zero future appointments with her. After my first visit, going felt less of a treat and facilities less appealing in terms of wear and cleanliness. I would not commend services as high end and prices reflect the quality. On last visit, I preferred to pay and not obtain the service even though I was at the location. In fairness, I thought, “Am I only doing this now because I have that membership or is this really relaxing and worth my time?” Not relaxing or worth my time…more like a self-imposed obligation to go for a so-so experience. A retreat brings to mind a place where you feel welcome and can escape from whatever you need to escape. Hiatus is not horrible but just doesn’t feel like a place where I want to spend time, much less view as a retreat. I also tried to cancel the membership while there and was directed to email the cancellation which was odd…and impersonal.
Absolutely outstanding experience. Ive gone to massage therapists in the past but this was my first spa experience, and Marissa didnt disappoint. I used a Yelp coupon but would happily pay full price next time.Check-in was simple and straightforward, with a standard questionnaire and waiver. I was guided back to the mens changing area, outfitted with a bathroom, shower, lockers, and a large vanity. The relaxation room was quaint, with hot tea and water provided. The massage rooms are upstairs and private. My massage began with a foot soak followed by a signature massage + hot stones, a new experience for me. The massage was outstanding, thoughtful, and left me ready to take on this week.
I had a wonderful clarifying facial with shantal! So excited to sign up for the membership my next visit. I love the welcoming tea and robe. The entire spa is so relaxing and a great experience!
We live here at the Pearl and my only regret is we haven’t tried Hiatus earlier on. We’ve lived here a year now.The front desk staff is incredibly helpful and willing to help you pick a service that best fits your needs. We were able to get same day service (we’re the spontaneous type) but I recommend trying to book in advance if you can.Zachry was hands down phenomenal. I stopped getting massages a while back because other places simply didn’t provide the deep tissue service I was looking for. Zachry provided the right amount of strength in problem areas while giving a relaxing experience. I workout about 6 times a week so this was very very important. My partner also received a 90 minute massage with a different therapist and was looking for a relaxing experience (he does not workout lol) and received exactly that. We also signed up for the membership since we plan to return on a regular basis. Highly recommend!
Johnetta was amazing!! She was very knowledgeable and made me comfortable with the services. The facial felt amazing and she educated me on products to use for my skin. Ive been glowing since my appointment!!
You get what you pay for. The services are a bit pricier than an average spa, but the service, atmosphere, and professionalism of employees makes it all worth it. I had the 60 minute knockout massage by Edward and it was without a doubt the best treatment I have ever received. His attention to the specific spots I requested worked through weeks of tension I was feeling. The spa is beautiful, clean, and so relaxing. I will be recommending and revisiting this place while in San Antonio.
Edit: The Spa manager followed up and was very responsive to my post. They were empathetic and listened to my concerns, provided information and handled the call with an excellent demeanor. I am editing my post based on their ability to address and correct the issues identified. I am grateful they took the time to reach out.Original Post: Be Warned Not Professional and Rude Service. I have been a member since the spa opened at the Pearl but experienced some incredibly rude service today from two employees. I booked his appointment via their app for fathers day and their employees linked him to another account because he has a similar name and then charged him for services that should have been covered under our membership fees, after several phone calls back and forth the error has still not been corrected. Needless to say they ruined what should have been a lovely afternoon. We would never expect this type of service and shame to see this happen. We will be cancelling our membership.
Wonderful services! Love this place! Had a facial with Shantal B. and service was amazing as always! Have been seeing Shantal regularly for the last year-plus, and let me tell you, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! ❤ She is extremely knowledgeable, super helpful, and is client focused/oriented. Im finally at a point in my life where Im loving my skin and I can say I owe this in great part to her. Thank you Shantal! 🤗
Hands down best mani/pedi in town. The performance polish is the best. Its like traditional nail polish with the durability and longevity of gel! And you cant beat a cozy zero gravity chair. I am so relaxed every time!
I had a full body massage and facial. I was awake during the massage. The therapist let me know what he was doing, step by step. He would warn me when he was going to apply more pressure. I almost fell asleep during the facial and sad it was over. Very relaxing, clean bathrooms, lounge areas and comfy beds. Located in the Pearl. Parking is not hard to find. You may have to drive around for a bit to find a good spot that is close to the spa. Prices are reasonable.
The rating is not because of the massage or facial I received but is because I was told to select any color for my nail polish, I was never told there was an extra charge for any of the polishes. When I paid, there was a $29 up charge for the polish I selected, which was from the wall I was told to pick from, and the same brand as all the other choices. When I asked what that was, the cashier looked at my nails and said, yes that is it! That is just crazy! All the other service providers ASKED me about additional services. Beware of additional fees on top of their already very high prices. I was also here for 1/2 the day and I was only offered wine or champagne during my last service. My options were water or herbal tea, in addition to being at the facility for 5 hours, paying for 5 hours of services and not once asked if I would even like a cracker! I greatly appreciate the gift from a special friend, but it is way overrated!!!!
Jenny is the sweetest and takes pride in her craft by creating a relaxing experience for her clients. I love that I can go in and completely trust her with my skin. She not only takes care of what you need, but she also provides tips on how to improve any area of concern. Her facials are so rejuvenating! Make sure to book her at least a week in advance because spots fill up quick.
Dont hesitate to book a facial or brow service with Shantal. She pays close attention to your concerns and makes helpful recommendations so you can get the most out of your service.
If youre a new mom, get the re-energizing massage. I had lower back and hip pain since I had given birth 5 months ago. Edward (my last masseuse) fixed that and now I can perform daily tasks without the lingering pain. I am so thankful for that. Ill definitely visit again.
Connor is an excellent masseuse. My deep tissue massage was just what the doctor ordered. The staff on site are very professional.
I had gotten a spa package for Christmas that had a little of everything, and when I called to schedule it, the guy on the phone said there was no availability and that they would call me when something opened. This gift package had an expiration date on it. Waited a few weeks and heard nothing so I called and got it scheduled. The body massage was great and the lady that did mine was very sweet and polite. The facial was nice until I realized she smothered face oil all over my hair, making my hair greasy. I’m not allergic to anything, and never have been, but whatever she put on my face caused my face to burn and now starting to break out. She layered the products so much, my face started to feel heavy, and greasy, when it started to dry the product started peeling off in chunks. When I asked if I could reschedule my mani-pedi due to this happening, at first they said I’d have to cancel out my gift package, pay the cancellation fee, and have to pay again when I want my mani-pedi. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, they eventually gave me the store credit for my mani-pedi. I don’t recommend this place to anyone and I will only be going back for my mani-pedi.
My first massage experience and it was amazing! The spa has a soothing and quiet environment. They provide complimentary drinks, a relaxation area, and a variety of lotions and other products for customers to use. The massage room was dim and the ceiling was decorated with fairy lights. The masseuse allows you to pick a calming scent for your experience. They are mindful of providing adequate tension relief or whatever other needs you may have. The spa also has a membership club and discounts. Would definitely go back to try some of the other services they provide, like aromatherapy or heat stones.
I scheduled my first facial as a way to treat myself. I had a few skin concerns and wasn’t sure if my esthetician would be able to help. Shantal created a treatment plan for me, recommended products, taught me how to use them and walked me through how each product works. Shantal is professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. I always leave Hiatus happy and satisfied. Thank you, Shantal for always going above and beyond! I can’t wait to see you in a few weeks!
Honestly such a great experience! For this being my first massage it was great. Everything was well explained and Vivian did such an amazing job and was super sweet and very friendly.
We got the couple’s massage and really enjoyed the attention to detail both therapists gave us. They were both fantastic! The value of their product matched the price we payed. We would have enjoyed more amenities at this spa but it’s a good sacrifice to have the venue at the Pearl. Will be back next time we go through town!
I purchased a package for my wife for Mothers Day. She returned the favor for Fathers Day. My entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Staff was excellent and the ambiance was very relaxing. Cant wait to schedule another visit.
I planned about a month in advance for moms birthday. Savannah was a great help to me over email getting double services set up for both of us. As this was a surprise, my mom was allowed to fill out her body profile onsite instead of online, as we got there early. We were shown to the changing room, provided with a locker, clean robe and slippers. After which we sat in the relaxation room. It is a shame we are going through COVID as I would have liked the relaxation tea before hand, but it didnt hinder our experience. We both had a body wrap and a hot stone massage. Mom was assisted by Lynn, for both services, who listened to what my mom had to say in terms of not touching her feet or neck. I was assisted by Anagrecia (?) for my body wrap, which was an amazing set up for relaxation before the massage. After that I was assisted by Gene for my hot stone massage. As we were checking out I had the pleasure of meeting Savannah. It was a wonderful experience and will definitely plan on going again, hopefully to have the same wonderful ladies assist us again. Thank you for helping me pull this wonderful surprise together for my mom.
Wish I had the funds to come here every two weeks! Ive never felt more at ease, peaceful, and important. My masseuse Shaina handled me with such care. As it her hands were feathers when lifting my limbs. She listened to my needs and left me feeling renewed.
I love hiatus! My first time and I signed up for their monthly memberships. So knowledgeable on skin care and products. I hadn’t had a terrible breakout since before I went. I can’t wait until my next appointment
The spa is clean and the staff are friendly! I selfishly don’t want to leave this review because Ellie already stays booked but if you are in the market for the best manicure you have ever had, you should go see her! Professional, perfect gel manicures that last weeks without peeling or chipping. She’s the best!
I cant say enough about this spa. Everyone is always so nice, has a great relaxing atmosphere. A variety of services to choose from as well. Love Hiatus!
The service was amazing, the salon was very accommodating, my mom and I felt pampered and the technicians were so sweet and personable.
I have been a member of Hiatus for almost a year and everytime I go in there is some sort of issue at checkout. I always have a great experience with the service I recieve, but the staff they have running the front are rude and scattered. I have booked appointments and then they forget to put them in or I asked to be scheduled for a service and they put in the wrong service. Iove the facials, massages and pedicures I get, but I am about to the end of my rope with the front desk staff. I come out of my service relaxed and leave stressed out.
Ive always enjoyed all my experiences at Hiatus. The facials and massages are the best! The staff is so professional and courteous. Love the ambience of the place.
After being a member for over 3 years, Can easily see how the went from great to acceptable on their services. Cleaning its being a issue every time we come to th property, bathrooms full of hair and hair also under the warm beds. Last but not least I had schedule a service with my wife a MONTH AGO trying to coordinate that but the time she finishes her facial and massage im done with mine too. 24 hours before appointment they call to change our appointments and expect me and my wife to be ok either accepting their conditions or us loosing half of our monthly credit without receiving the services. LAS TIME COMING TO THIS PLACE.
Dont work there if you have a voice and care about your career. No room for advancement unless your kissing a$$You must wear masks if unvaxed even though the CDC no longer recommends it. There are no benefits to get excited about, no PTO, you have to find coverage if you want time off, management is very unprofessional and only cater to the ones in their clique . Front desk staff is amazing except one person, who has many complaints against her with clients as well as staff and now they are training her to be an Assistant Manager??? Also, front desk staff have quit because of this person and staff have been fired because of said person. Little do they know, they have a therapist working for them who sells things they shouldnt. Rules dont apply to everyone, only the favorites. Nepotism is huge there. The Managers do nothing to resolve issues, they just dismiss you snd owners are thrnsame way. Management is very condesending towards staff and raises are not.given unless, again, youre a favorite. Save yourself and work for a different company. Happiness is better sometimes. As for the reaponse from the owner or Gloria, of course they would say that I was making it up. They are on the defensive now because they barked up the wrong tree. I wore a mask against my will because they would threaten me with a write you up and/or termination. I dont make things up because I have nothing better do. Its a dictatorship.
One & Only Pedicure: The zero gravity chair, eye mask, blanket, sound canceling headphones, massage and nail care were all very relaxing and great quality. My 3 star rating is because the experience was cut short by 1/3 of the advertised time, which is disappointing given the $70 price. When I scheduled the appointment online I got an email confirming the time (one hour long). Unfortunately I was 2 minutes late (entirely my fault) so I expected the experience to be cut short up to 5 minutes. When I checked in I was told the person after me had canceled so I would be able to enjoy the full length of experience (which would have been very generous and very appreciated) however, my nail technician had me up and out of the chair more than 15 minutes before the scheduled completion time of my appointment (per my confirmation email). I believed I was scheduling an hour long experience, anticipated 2 minute late arrival would result in a 55 minute service but ended up with a 40 minute service that cost $70. When I checked out I asked how long the service typically is and was told they schedule it for an hour but its really around 45 minutes to allow for 15 minutes of clean up.Update: After my initial feedback spa management contacted me to apologize and invite me back for full length service.
I got the Mani/Pedi and whole the experience was wonderful but my nail polish started chipping a mere 5 hours after! Within two days the nail polish was so chipped and tacky looking that I had to remove it but it didnt remove like regular mail polish instead it smeared and stained not only my finger nails but the skin surrounding! Im not sure which was worse, the mass amounts of chipped polish or the fact that my fingers are still that color after repeated attempts to remove and almost painful amounts of scrubbing my fingers to no avail.
The staff is beyond friendly and takes great care of its guests! We felt very welcomed, they even provided refreshments during check-in. I booked my mom a treatment here and she absolutely adored her time here! We are definetly coming back soon, 10/10
I had a pedi with Jaena that was fabulous. Ive had 5 services here. This is a nice place for a relaxing treatment but honestly its more than I can afford. My visits have all been gift certificates.
We were in town for our anniversary and I booked an apt for the original mani pedi. The only con I have is I let my pedi dry for 4 hrs, Before putting on my shoes and the polish still was not dry. Normally that should be double time for polish to dry but it was not. Disappointed my whole pedicure was ruined. The staff and place was amazing, very comfortable and accommodating. The aromatherapy and hot tea was soothing and calming. The manicure chairs reclined for maximum relaxation and noise canceling headphones are offered. I enjoyed the eye mask for blocking out the light and the restroom has everything needed to freshen up before you leaveIt was too bad my pedicure got messed up the color was great
From reception all the way through the spa until my appointment with Bethany was completely relaxing. Bethany was so sweet and did an amazing job! My mani/pedi looks great and I ended up signing up for a membership because of how much I enjoyed my appointment!
This was my 2nd visit and it was fantastic, AGAIN! The entire staff is extremely attentive and friendly. Everyone knew it was mine and my daughter, Alexs, birthday. Its always nice to have special days remembered. I have 3-4 more appointments scheduled and plan on many more in 2019.
Came in on a monday right around lunchtime. Able to get a massage within 40 minutes. Casey did an excellent deep tissue/comeback massage. I recommend her highly. Lovely atmosphere and worth the money. Leave feeling better.
Clean and wonderful experience. Spa was beautiful, went in for a massage the water, robe and hot towel while waiting for massage was extremely relaxing. Great experience will definitely go back
I had the most amazing deep tissue massage from Noel Munoz. Noel is definitely in tune with her skill. Very professional and when Im back in town I am going to book with her again. I highly recommend her. As a massage therapist for 26 years she is exactly what I needed.Thank you Noel!!
From the check in to the massage, my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. We would definitely go back! I love the $25 off for first time visitors also, great deal
I love my monthly retreat at hiatus spa. All of the estheticians and masseuses who I’ve had are amazing their own way. I’ve never had an issue booking, even at the last minute, and I always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
I absolutely loved my epic pedi at the hiatus spa in san antonio located at the pearl!!!! the atmosphere is so calming! jayline did a fabulous job on my toes and i will definitely be back! literally a piece of heaven in earth!
Massage and facial were excellent!Very disappointed in my mani-pedi, given the price point. I chose red for July 4th. Gel on nails but not toes and they dont match AT ALL. The red on my toes is more of a deep fall red while my nails are the bright red I wanted. Definitely surprised and disappointed at the lack of color selection. Also was not given the cocktail that the ShangriLa package suggested was included.
I confirmed my appointment ahead of time. When I arrived the technician was a no show. Afterwards I have made four other appointments and have had no problems. Until it was time to confirm my appointment. The receptionist insisted they needed to have a card on file. I refused. She said they have a strict policy and i will not be able to keep my appointment. Unless you have a gift card or credit card. Where was this policy when I booked my first appointment and so on. I was not the no show
My absolute favorite spot in town, I go here all the time. Luxurious and relaxing no matter what service Im getting, every single staff member has been a dream to work with. They also make the best tea. ❤️
Preface this by saying those that did my massage, manipedi, and facial were great. But those checking me in were a disaster and not communicative and ruined the whole experience. The waiting area is small and uncomfortable, they overcharged me, they dont communicate when your next service is and when you ask them to help, they dont! Like I said those at front are a disaster. Just communicate with those that actually are providing the service. But, I would not recommend and not going back.
My mother in law is still talking about the experience . Brenda was highly recommended to me by a coworker . My mother in law says that she (Brenda) is very professional and knowledgeable in her technique and product . She has never had such a relaxing, rejuvenating experience like she had with Brenda. She also states Brenda really knows how to pamper and make you feel like a new person. My mother in law loved her birthday/Christmas gift . Thanks again Brenda and Hiatus spa . Will definitely be back and recommend Hiatus and Brenda to the world .
Conner just gave me the best massage I’ve ever had in my life. She was very professional and nice to talk to. 10/10!
Have always experienced terrific customer service from front staff and therapists. Comfortable, clean environment. First time scheduling with Zachry, and massage was great; he listened to my areas of concern and treated accordingly .
Staff are very welcoming and courteous. The ambience is great. Both my aesthetician and massage therapists are very good. I felt so good after my services.
Adrian was awesome! He was able to do a deep tissue massage without it actually being painful. I got to enjoy the entire session and still get the relief I needed. 10/10 Ill be going back regularly!
The estheticians did an incredible job at making me feel relaxed. My eco-gel manicure has lasted the longest of any manicure I’ve ever gotten! Leaving the spa, I was the most relaxed I’ve been in about a year. I will absolutely be back!
Love coming here now I’m a member I come once a month or twice. Love the service love all the The workers there Are very helpful and they make my day before I leave.
My absolute favorite spa. Brenda is amazing! Her service is exceptional! I had lots of questions and she had lots of answers. Can’t wait for my next visit ❤️
The HydraFacial was the BEST. Didn’t hurt and the whole thing still felt like a real spa experience even though it was a hydrafacial. Shout out to Jenny L. for helping make sure I wasn’t all red and peely after: she got me out red card er ready and all glowy.
I did not know what to expect I know most people might think what I thought in the pearl area bit when I walked in it was breatiful and so are the rooms emoys are extremely nice and also I got a facial it was amazing and so relaxing and price is reason able for what the ladies do so AMAZING!!!
Massage therapist (Adrian) was very professional and knowledgeable in regards to recommending the type of massage for my particular problem. I really felt renewed physically and mentally after I walked out of the spa. Place is very clean and relaxing.
Thank you to Conner, you made me feel so special, relaxed and rejuvenated!!!! I will definitely be back. This place is so amazingly relaxing and peaceful, the perfect gift idea for really anyone!!! Thanks guys 💛❤️💜Also thanks to Susanna and Giselle you guys are the best!!!!!! 😘😘😘😘
I had a terrible experience with your front desk staff and for this reason I Will not return. As I was getting ready to check out, I asked two front desk receptionist what the Wi-Fi password was as my phone had just stopped working and the only way for me to communicate with my husband was via iMessage. The first receptionist simply said she didn’t know it, however the receptionist that I paid my bill with was extremely rude. I asked for the Wi-Fi password and she simply didn’t respond then I asked again and she responded with “I don’t know” then I asked for the secondary accounts password to which she responded again “I don’t know” which is terrible customer service. I said okay so you don’t know either and she said “no”. Didn’t apologize or say let me find out.. nothing. As I paid my bill she said my receipt would be emailed to me and that was that. Not even a thank you, have a nice day, nothing.. this was so absurd to me seeing how I just spend $250 on a facial. I’m the one that had to say thank you. The facial was amazing, however the relaxation room was subpar and didn’t even have doors. Definitely not a true relaxation room.
I’ve been a regular customer at Hiatus for 3 years and I have never had any issues. Always the best customer service. I’ve utilized many of their services and have never had an issue and have always received exceptional service! Definitely recommend!
Rachel was excellent massage therapist. Pressure applied was perfect and knowledge of human musculoskeletal anatomy was clearly obvious, this coming from a retired anesthesiologist of 40 plus years.
The location at the Pearl enhances your experience. My favorite is the signature mani pedi, and your way Facial. Great for a much needed relaxation day.
Michael is always, professional, positive and in tuned with the pressure I like to reduce tension in my back and shoulders. The spa staff is helpful and friendly, locker rooms are clean and well stocked. Thank you!
Melanie gave me an incredible deep tissue massage all while making me feel welcomed and comfortable.
I had three exceptional treatments with my spa experience . I have spa treatments frequently and this was easily the best for services I have ever had.
I have 2 years of great experiences at this spa. Massage, mani/pedi’s, body scrubs and facials. My skin has never looked better. I love the whole experience and the highly skilled esthetician’s that work here!!
I love Hiatus spa! Convenient location, friendly staff, beautiful and relaxing facility with an upscale feel. I’ve loved all of the facials and massages I’ve had there!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Noelle was excellent. She was able to maintain firm pressure throughout, her technique was fluid, and she provided a relaxing experience. Very impressive.
Rosa was remarkable. She eased my tension and relieved my stress.
Absolutely book a package! The most beautiful people work here and they are incredible! Would give 10 stars if I could!
Relaxing experience start to finish. Even a glass of champagne to start. Edward Lewis was amazing — one of the best ever with deep muscle knots.
Eternity was my masseuse and she was absolutely perfect!! I’ve had lots of massages and I honestly think this was the best one ever. She is new at Hiatus and a GREAT addition to the team!!!
I called to attempt to make an appointment today and was refused service after I told them I worked in the Hospital. Per the COVID guidelines on the Hiatus spa website Hiatus asks that clients who have COVID symptoms reschedule their services. It also asks for all clients to wear a mask and practice CDC guidelines. I am ok with all of that. I don’t have any COVID symptoms, I wear a mask and follow CDC guidelines. CDC guidelines never mention discriminating against healthcare workers. I will no longer be supporting a business who doesn’t stand by healthcare workers. It is a shame that the San Antonio location is discriminating against healthcare workers. I know this because after I called the San Antonio hiatus spa, I called all the other locations who verified that they would not deny me services. I have never had any business refuse to have healthcare workers except this one.
Wow! My message therapist Liz did such a great job! She asked what I wanted & I got exactly that! Massage was tailored to my need.I’m so relaxed
That was by far the most relaxing pedicure I have ever had! So happy to have found you and will be returning very soon. Thank you so much. I really needed that time!
I have had chronic pain for the past two years and regular visits with Mike Esquivel over the past 6-8 months have done wonders for my gait, posture, and mental health--at long last, I am starting to feel like myself again. Thanks, Mike!
I got a facial for the very first time and I cant express enough how amazing it was. Katherine did a fabulous job. I highly recommend Hiatus Spa + Retreat.
Went here last week with my mother … place was mediocre. Paid over $600 for a spa for two but ended up spending over $150 in upgrades. They charge for EVERYTHING.Never again.
Ive loved every service Ive had there.I am not very impressed with the end result of the mani-pedí, while the experience is certainly luxurious the polish chipped off in just two days and the skin around the nail bed was not as immaculately trimmed as you would expect from such an expensive treatment. Not sure if I would spend on a mani pedi there again.
Super relaxed environment. Joined the H club because we live nearby and have not regretted it. Great massages and Daphne is great for facials. Haven’t had a bad service here!
I had booked a massage for my husband as a surprise Fathers Day gift. They called on Fathers Day an hour before he was supposed to arrive to tell me his masseuse had called in sick. Beyond disappointing to have his special day ruined like this with a half-hearted apology. Terrible. Will never go back.
Ive only ever gotten facials from here. All were great, and the facialists were very kind. The environment is relaxing and thoughtfully set-up.
I had a great experience at Hiatus as a first time client. Everyone was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very chill and the service I received was wonderful. I had the mani/pedi. I definitely recommend Hiatus.
Professionalism from your staff from the minute I walked through the door. Relaxing atmosphere. Wonderful products used and exceptional service!
Started out as a gift from a friend in 2018 and Ive been a member since. Great every time and always so relaxing!
Misled by the 20%off email promo. I had 2 services and was charged full price. When I called to let them aware of the issue I was told a manager would call me the next day. The following day there was no call from staff or a manager. I felt misled by the email promo and disappointed in their lack of customer service to make this right. Was contacted after fb company made it right.
Best massage I’ve ever had! Lauren did an excellent job!
JENNIFER WAS AMAZING! Thank you so much for listening to my preferences and hitting all the spots I needed the most ❤️ You are the best masseuse Ive ever hard ! Thank you again 💓
Received a facial with Jenny. Jenny is an absolute master at her craft. Her hands are like velvet and her knowledge of skin and skincare is of the highest standard. Highly recommend her.
Absolutely great day at the spa. Everyone was so friendly and professional. The staff was all very attentive and accommodating. The services were all outstanding and it was a great day of relaxing and pampering.
Service and quality is always excellent!!!! Adrian does a great knock out massage.
Customer service is always top notch, as is the quality of the treatments. I’ve only been a few times, but I have yet to have any experience that was less than exceptional.
My favorite place to relax in town! I like how convenient its location is at, 5 mins to my home. Professional services and very therapeutic. If you love SPA like me this is the right place for you.
Absolutely love this place! They provide amazing services, offer some delicious tea, have a really calming environment, and are super friendly! I highly recommend this place to both new and experienced Spa users! 5/5
Heaven on earth! This place blessed me so good. I left walking on air. Great setting. Customer service was stellar. Everything was perfect. I left thinking of my return. You will be pleased.
How do you even make an appointment here? I have been calling for weeks, left voicemail yet never seem to get a callback or appointment. I bought one of their packages you will think you would be able to book it yet not response nor call back.
Love this spa and the location. Best facials and massages. Def recommend
Recently became a member and could not be happier with the services provided and the wonderland staff!
Anagrecia Guajardo did such a great job explaining everything to me. The conversation was great. The whole experience was so enjoyable. I want to sign up as a member now!
I always send my lady here (Pearl location) and she loves it! Guys...take care of that great woman/mother! If the Good Lord gave you a great woman...SEND HER HERE!
I love coming to Hiatus. The environment and staff are very welcoming. I have been going for awhile and love going to see Anagrecia for my monthly spa service.
I absolutely LOVED this spa!!!! I will be going back!!! Brenda did my facial and eyelash tint and Victoria did my massage. I truly felt pampered!
Wonderful experience and caring staff. I love being able to enjoy my time in their zen waiting area. Treat yo’self to the caring hands of the staff. I became a member the first day I came.
Indeed The Best Facial Ever! Very knowledgeable and right on with recommendations for my skin. Shantal was amazing! Highly recommended.
Eternity, my therapist was amazing! She listened to me and focused on my problem areas. She was outstanding!!
Employees are always so welcoming! I just wish it was bigger, otherwise one of the best here in SATX!
Edward is my massage therapist and he is fantastical! Absolutely love Hiatus Spa and Retreat place! Would recommend in a heartbeat!
Had a facial with Shantal who was very knowledgable and professional! Great atmosphere, clean environment, and always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
I love every minute I spend at hiatus! They have the best experience! The best service providers! The best customer service! They’re simply the best!I can’t necessarily recommend any one service provider because I love them all!!
Cesar did an awesome job with my massage and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. I would go back to see him again!
