This club seriously needs better security and needs to have security around the actual dance floor. Lots of creepy people here and one them punched me in the back of the head for no reason. They didn’t do anything besides tell the guy to leave, not even the police who were standing there.Leaving a photo here of the guy (right) who punched me in the face. If you have any substance, you will ban him for life from this club. He made everyone there feel unsafe and even chased us to our Uber.
By far the worst club in SF. Terrible sound system, even worse culture/community of people, and bad bad bad service.Highly recommend you check out any other club but this. And if you are looking to have fun with cool people and good music/service - go to madrone art bar any day of the week.
Generally loud music isn’t too much of an issue for me. But this was absolutely ridiculous. The music was so loud that I am still struggling to hear days later. I’m also saddened to say I overheard someone mention they think their eardrum was blown out.1. Y’all need to run sound checks before events if you don’t already.2. Maybe have ear plugs for guests? My friend wore ear plugs and STILL had a similar experience to mine so I don’t even know if it would help but maybe doing sound checks would prevent someone from having hearing loss. Also: that dance floor is WAY small and I find it ridiculous that there was so much space for tables that weren’t even filled.
This place needs ventilation. The sound system is too overwhelming for the space it is in and they need to do a better job with what they have because it is a giant system. It sounds like they are constantly red lining their speakers and the audio engineers need to be mindful of that because it sounds horrible at times. As somebody who has lots of experience with nightlife, I’d say this is a very good place to go if you don’t know where else to go. It gets crowded for a reason. The bathrooms are typically well kept and they usually have good music. The bartenders are always really friendly and the visuals are very well done.
It was ok, the last 2 times i went, it wasnt so crowded, but its a very small venue, especially when all thier vip area is full. When full, you can barely dance, 2 crowded, unless you have vip. Expensive 2get in, and so are the drinks. But one of the bartender makes the drinks strong as hell, i guess that would be a good thing🤷♂️✌️
This place should be closed. The staff is clearly not prepared to host people. They are disrespectful and ill-mannered. Especially the manager. A woman who treats other women with discourtesy and aggressiveness. The drinks are overpriced, and the place is small and not well-ventilated.San Francisco has many cool places, dont waste your time and money on this one.
Not bad for a first nightclub experience, dress code is important! Dont wear anything with logos, a nice button up. Bouncers are pretty strict. Was there for a bit 2 hours. Dont be afraid to just get on the floor. Getting in is 30 bucks per person, pat down on entry. Semi-clean, a lot of spilled items on the floor, almost slipped on a lime and plastic cup, etc.. Polite people though, was packed! Would go again probably.
There are so many dope clubs in SF. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Ive been here many times, mainly to support DJs I know who perform there, and I never want to go back.Theres a few specific problems this place has:#1 - There is WAY too much emphasis on VIP.The dancefloor of this club is super small, and the majority of the space is awkwardly roped off from the VIP section of the room. Anyone whos been there knows exactly what I mean.60% of the dancing space is VIP only (and is usually empty) which leaves a pretty small amount of room for the regular attendees dancing.Again, ive never seen more than 2-7 people in the vip section, which could probably fit about 50. Just SO much wasted space. Compare it to a club like Audio that has plenty of dancing space and also caters to ViP.#2 - Way too expensive.I understand clubs are expensive places in general. Im not expecting to find great deals on drinks here. But for people to have to pay $30 for entry, and then pay 15$ for a small drink, to dance on a cramped dancefloor in front of an empty VIP section just is not right. Youde be insane to get bottle service or a table here... And also dont forget the coat check fee lmao.#3 - Rude security & check in.If you dont believe me, check the other reviews.Ive been given a hard time almost every time I come here. Especially on the dance floor (god forbid you bump into the ropes for the empty VIP section). I always have put my group on the guestlist because of the crazy entrance price, and when we get there its like they dont believe us.Also get a hard time about our clothes (usually T shirts) even tho it doesnt say anything about Tshirts in their dresscode online. Girls checking you in act like its an inconvenience. Ive seen people get turned away just for their shoes too... sad.A couple good notes:The bar staff has always been very kind and polite in my experience, so shoutout to them. The sound system is good and the DJs are good too (I really only come to see DJs that I know are dope, so that may differ on other nights). They also have free water you can serve yourself. This might sound stupid but I think its crucial that clubs do this. All in all, I dont want to go back. This place COULD be really cool, but it seems like theyre trying to cater to this swanky vegas-club VIP energy and its just a bad vibe. No SF local wants to come here.Start by expanding the dancefloor a bit, there will still be plenty of space for VIP...
Paid for a trey songz show that was listed 9:30-2. Venue didnt open until 10:30 and no live performers until trey came up at 1:45. Terrible venue for a show
Rude and Incompetent bouncers and staff. Their online guestlist wouldnt work, but they are ready to let the girls enter for free and charge $30 cover for guys. At that price point, you can easily find an actual artist DJ and more sophisticated crowd at Audio, Public Works, Great Northern, Monarch, and tens of other nightclubs in the city. Club was empty, DJ did not mix song very well, and staff is rude. The thin crowd is proof that his place is terrible and people dont want to put up with their arrogance.
My favorite Club in the city. It isnt as big as the Grand but the music, crowd, and drinks are great. The bouncers are friendly and not egoistic like the ones in many of the clubs around. The lines get super long so try to get there a little earlier to make sure you get in on time. The VIP service is also great thanks to Christopher! He makes sure his guests are well-taken care off and is fun to hang out with! If you want to have a fun night this is the place to go and if you are thinking of getting a table call him hell hook you up with the best!
Over-priced-entry to get in for a cramped dancing floor, and to pay for a coat check and over-priced drinks. At some point an establishment shows its hand: are they there to create an awesome environment for which you will have memories forever, or are they to bleed you dry and provide horrible customer service along the way. Love + Propaganda is that bleed you dry place.Half the people there were staff, and I didnt have one single positive experience with any of them.
Very chill atmosphere. Not much traffic. Quiet place to get a drink and some food. Although, I did not have any food. Moscow mule was decent but not the best Ive had.
Managed terribly. I understand asking somebody to leave when they have clearly had too much to drink, but how are you not going to allow them to close their tab? We were not allowed to re-enter the club, and we were told to return the next evening at 10PM when they reopen. Thanks to them, we missed our flight.Any respectable establishment would have some sort of policy in place for these types of situations.
Easily my favorite nightclub in the city. The vibe is euphoric, the energy is fiery, the music is SO GOOD. Everyone comes here with the intentions of having a good time and every time Ive been here it has been a damn good time. The staff was friendly, everyone was chill in all the right ways which made for even better experiences. Love the mood and character of the atmosphere. We danced and danced and danced. Love + Prop is a winner.
10 Star bottle service experience. Came here for my 21st birthday. No long waits in line for people VIP reservation, we got walked into our table. Not all of my party arrived, but the vip host made sure to let them in with no charge and were also sent to our table. Best thing I noticed was how clean they keep the place. Had many bottle service experiences where they have very sloppy floors and when drinks get spilled no one notices or cleans it. My friends and I will be celebrating many other birthdays here 🍾
It was cool years ago when they played techno and house. Now it is not fun any more. The floor is divided by people with velvet ropes who control areas. And get mad at you if you approach them. So crazy. But i did meet some cool people too. Two of the bartenders refused to look at me for no reason and served many before me too. Will never go back. Polk street is 100 times better.
Worst and rudest bouncers of any club in the city, hands down. Straight up ruined everyones night. I’ve been to most of the clubs around SF but never had an experience nearly as bad as at Love&Prop — these bouncers were shouting at literally everyone (no one was belligerent or drunk or loud, they just had something personal against everyone)They also started upcharging people who already paid for tickets online — $40, $50, $60 on top of what people already paidI’ll gladly pay more money to go to any other club, and I hope no one else has to go through that bs
Celebrated my birthday here on 12/23/16 and had a blast! DJ Mr. Best played great music and my host helped me and my table out with everything we needed. Club wasnt fully packed but enough to have a good time. Good times .
They wouldn’t let me in even though I had a valid RSVP saying that the promotor sold the ticket by mistake. That’s their issue. How am I not let in because of their incompetence. They asked me to pay.
Love + Prop is a joke. The bouncers are super strict on their dress codes for guys, but any girl can walk in with the trampiest outfit on and get in without a problem. Cover is always over $20. Would not recommend going out here, definitely not worth it.
Used to go here all the time, but my last visit just shows when an establishment is clearly on the decline. We sat for 40 minutes without any service at the table due to them not being able to deliver what we ordered. Director of VIP services, Nick Baross was extremely rude at that point and just said if you dont like it, then get the F out. When asked to provide a refund for services we never received, he bluntly stated dispute it with your credit card. Needless to say, I will not be going there again - its sad to see such service for over 1K.
Drinks are expensive, and the dj will play 30 seconds of a song and then switch it with zero transition. Its very jarring and frustrating! Also the way the place is managed is incredibly uptight. They dont let you put drinks or coats down on surfaces. And when I left, they said I had 15 minutes until I would be let back in again. Uh okay. Do you have a timer running? I miss vessel, that place was awesome.
“VIP” table service is an absolute joke and rip off. I travel extensively for work & been to many night clubs around the globe, never seen worse service or amenities for VIP. Don’t waste your money. They roped off a booth down the middle and crammed our large group next to another one - we didn’t even have enough sitting places for all of our guests. The majority of the booths are around the dance floor so you have people creeping more and more into your area. The booths themselves were run down and nothing aesthetically lovely or appealing. Once they let way too many people into the club around 12, the air becomes humid and there’s no room to really dance. If you must go to this place, only one corner VIP booth would be substantial as it’s away from the floor and large. Outrageous bottle prices and hoochie bottle girls with strobe lights one time were enough for me in my life. At the end of the night we asked our booth waitress for another carafe of water and she said it would be $54. LOL!!! I’ll stick to VIP service in Las Vegas.
I was mistreated by the security guard who pushed me in line and wouldnt let me in. I drove 6 hours to go to a Brazilian party at this place last night 10/24, I bought all the tickets, got in line, my friends came, in my turn he asked for the ticket, I opened the email to search Then another security guard looked in my face and said Go away, super dumb, disrespectful, and for no reason! I asked as a customer why I couldnt get in, he just said go away and pushed me out of the line. I called the police because he had no reason, he just didnt like my face and was prejudiced.
Spent $50 for my partner and I to enter and we lasted about 20 minutes. Music really sets the vibe for a nightclub and this was… terrible.
Interesting downstairs nightclub not far from Union Square. I went there for a startup reception party. Seems like a good setup for some drinking, eating and lounging. Although it is well below ground level I got good cellphone reception.
Staff is friendly and bouncers were not egoistic.Music was great but the intensity was low. They have put a giant sofa right in the middle of the dance floor which makes it really inconvenient to dance. Would suggest to remove that Sofa
Fun place, but we got cursed here.So we went here for my friends graduation party, and we got a VIP area (note, the VIP area is basically just some rope in the middle of the dance floor...)Dancing was fun and the drinks were fine. However, the night after this my partner and I both had the same nightmare. We woke up and my partner asked me if I hear some people talking..and I said yeah, and it was like I knew I was sleeping but I couldnt wake up from it! He also said he was unable to wake up from his dreams in the same way! We both freaked out about it because it was super weird, and clearly the only explanation is that we were cursed at Love + Propaganda.Management should consider expel ritual bath, shaman intervention or possibly feng shui rearrangements to address this issue.
We were denied entry simply because cap is not allow inside even not wearing it. However, another security guard said he can take my cap in for me ....so I just don’t understand what’s the issue here with the inconsistency of policy implemented . Was I single out simply because I am gay as I see other allowed to wear beanie in. This place is outdated from the moment you queuing outside, you just get a very bad vibe that it’s an old fashion establishment with conservative boring crowds , was deciding if it’s a right place to visit and after the cap issue ..I was fully convinced not to stay. It’s 2019 and cap is not allow inside the club 😂😂😂😂 , the owner must be running by a grandpa!!
Ok venue, on the smaller side. Ceiling drips sweat when theres too many people. Fairly priced drinks and beers. Unfortunately made us wait til 11 forcing us to pay $40 cover.
Great club in Union square. audio system puts others to Shame. DJs are ok. Prices are fair if you know how to work a night club, bouncers are fair just dont get wasted and black out on ur bday there They will bounce out the person who the party was for if he or she pukes everywhere and its only 11pm but well worth a visit I can say youll enjoy it.
Denied entry into club due to wearing Vans sneakers. I have worn Vans at every club and bar I have ever gone to and have had no issues. It doesnt say on their website no sneakers only no athletic shoes or tennis shoes, which I would think mean Nike running shoes.
Pretty bad club. Spotify crossfade could’ve done a better job that the DJ. Coatcheck is extremely unreliable – everything in the pockets of my jacket was stolen. Would not recommend to anyone.
Love the lighting and my favorite interior architecture. Sophisticated place with a classy and chill feel to it. Techno/electronica beats sort music. One of the best clubs in SF.
This was my first time here since they remodeled. The layout is slightly different from Vessel (what it used to be). The sound system was good and so was the crowd. I had a great time and would totally come back.
One of the best nightclubs in San Francisco. Great music, beautiful space (more creative and interesting than the typical nightclub), great location, pleasant staff and diverse/interesting crowd.
Bouncers were aggressive and rude. It’s a shame cause other than that it’s a cool place. Not into spending $30 for a cover to be harassed.
Service was much better than most clubs in this city. Can really recommend table and bottle service here. Also, great music and great people. Really fun :)
Homophobic security guards kicked us out. they hit us for no reason, just because we were queer. do not go there if you’re queer.
Terrible experience and rude staff. Attempted to visit with a friend whilst visiting but was met with horrendous staff who were very discriminating. Would not recommend to my worst enemy, so many more pleasant nightlife experiences in the area.
Not much variety in music, only HipHop?Very small dance floor - does get cramped!
Racially profiled my friend for not having a collared shirt to wear. When I gave him my collared shirt, I was harassed for wearing leggings. An unpleasant experience. Additionally, the drinks were well overpriced for what they were ($15 for a “Moscow mule” in a plastic cup)
For SF a good spot to get down and party with a group. We grabbed a table and had about 8-10 bottles for our group and had an amazing time.
The music is great. But you have to wait for a long line cause there is just one girl working at the headgear. I waited like 30 min to get out!
I wouldn’t recommend going here - the worst customer service and the people that attend are on the same level, if not even worse. I’m surprised this place is in business but apparently hiring ‘’models’ for every party will do the trick and if you’re into older creepy men that think money is everything, this is the place to go!If you’re a SF local, you wouldn’t be spotted here.
Okay spot. Not my scene. Im visiting from GA and Im not sure if this is indicative of the SF nightlife. I would hope not. I enjoyed it because of the people I was with.
Was great when it opened. The bar is very narrow and hard to get to. music wasnt that great either. Not a lot of other options in that area so gets some stars.
The bouncers are so rude. No line and wouldn’t let us in because of a black beanie. Can’t even put it in your pocket. On a Thursday. Totally empty space. No line.
It was good before , but now they put sofa in dance floor , so basically they turned into a bar not night club
If you are GAY willing going to this club, be careful, security guards are HOMOPHOBIC and will try to push you out. Never again. LOVE WINS.
Shitttttty Bar.... The staff are not welcoming at all went all way from east bay but was refused by the weird dress code! Not recommended at all.
Very friendly an professional staff. Cool Sound and amazing Location. Had a wonderful time there.
Cool place it just gets so hot because its under ground and huge drops of water fall from the lights because of the humidity.
Really nice venue and music is great as well. Too many employees who take their job way too seriously...
Love the place not that big but a lots of heart great service great crowd and sweet music.See you this weekend
The music is awesome. Place is big enough. Drinks are good.
Probably the best nightclub in SF. The first place I think of when I want to party!
Very expensive sprits beer was fairly priced though, way too much base. The music was ok.
Just terrible. The bouncers are incompetent. They let in female minors...This place is begging to be closed down.
We weren’t allow to get in because my friend was using crutches and shorts. Awful experience
Way too crowded, hot, drinks are overpriced. There are better clubs in this city.
Highest Entertainment in SF for VIP, Warriors players are frequently there on Saturdays go Dub Nation
Tried to charge a $30 cover charge even though it was almost completely empty on a Friday night.
Best open format club in the city. Great service, music and crowd.
Songs are awesome. Small floor. It was crowded on Sat.
Great spot for dance music. Open late and not too pricey
Upscale venue with exceptional service and great music.
Good drinks and service. Britt is awesome!
That’s a lot of fun where strange guys but it’s a fun place
Gorgeous venue for our annual hair show!
This place we as really fun I would love to come back
Awful experience, the staff is extremely rude and it’s very overpriced.
I mean seriously they don’t allow designers shoes
We will have to see about the last last star when I go back. - THANKS PETER!
Had a work party here. Fun place!
Charged me a $20 cover... Not worth it.
They kicked me out just bc I’m brown !!
Its more or less exactly the same as the club it was prior to this one.
This was nice set up and location
Rude manager, bad vibes and empty club.
Worst club aI In San Francisco!.
Great place to dance your night away
Always shows me a good time
$20 Cover really? For a dead club?
The security is so rude, awful
What an awesome club, great vibes
Staff is straight up rude for no reason !
Very good
Bad music
Love it...and the owners are hot.
Hot, stylish and vibrant nightclub
Way better than when it was vessel
Good club with good music!
Abysmal treatment of patrons
Best location in SF.
Too big a line
Nice
Overrated
This is a WHITES only establishment
Good music
Terrible management
Overcrowded
Good atmosphere. The prices are somewhat high.
The bar staff is not very friendly, the place is pleasant.
