Visited just after opening and had a quick bite and two cocktails. Its one of the pricier places down town, and our total was $40 for the three items. We enjoyed the Queens Apple and the Melon Breeze with a small plate of Papas Bravas. We then came back later for the night club. It is $5 for women, $10 for men as a cover charge and they accept Venmo or Cash. There is a dress code, and I couldnt find on their website what that meant. Security was out and around the floor, and staff was hustling with their drinks. I was expecting some Rap or RnB music but it was a mix of just good songs with latin roots. It wasnt too crowded, just right. I only rate 4 stars because vaping inside was not enforced as much as it should be.
So much potential but what a waste. The DJs were good that night and there is a lot to be desired about this club, its location and its appeal, however the service and the way I was treated has turned this into a very bad review. I stood in line at the bar for a long time just to be denied service for no reason at all, and after waiting for a very long time, I was finally served the same drink I had ordered earlier, only to get the wrong drink. I also got food poisoning the next day. Definitely not going back there again.
While Perch and Plow is an all New American restaurant it is also a late night club. Wednesday and Thursday’s are only dinner from 5pm-9pm and Friday and Saturday it’s open from 5pm-2am for the late night dancing. There is a large window overlooking the Courthouse square. There is plenty of parking right in front of this restaurant as it is in the heart of Downtown Santa Rosa. The atmosphere inside the place had a very classy look to it. There’s tables, couches, and even vip seating you can pay for. The security guards for this place are very friendly and well mannered. The employee taking the entrance fee was very nice. On Saturday’s it seems to be some sort of discount day, but its $15 for 2 people. There is no wheel chair accessibility for the night club, but there is an elevator during the restaurant hours. The bartenders are pretty good about getting everyone’s drinks even when it’s busy. The DJ was not very good. He was mostly playing rap and R&B and although it is not bad music a DJ should have a variety of songs for all types of people. I was not flowing with it. There are also a couple of tvs by the bar for those just wanting to watch the game and relax. This place can get tight at times because of how busy it is and it’s not a huge place, but I also think it’s the charm. People are able to dance with strangers and connect.
Had dinner here on Thursday (12/1); it was a cold and rainy day so we had the bar to ourselves. We arrived with a few minutes left of happy hour so we got some wine and an order of the wings+fries. They were both delicious! The wings were big and meaty with a great dry rub.The calamari was good and the dipping sauce was super spicy, exactly how I like it.I tried the tres chile mezcal cocktail and that was really nice, a good amount of spice to it.We ended with the burger and it was definitely the highlight of the food; it was cooked perfectly. They even split it for us which we didnt ask but did appreciate. They went above and beyond. They have a great wines by the glass list. The highlight of the meal was getting to chat with the bartender Coco. We had a great conversation and she made our experience really enjoyable; we stayed longer than we planned because we were enjoying the conversation.I highly recommend this place and if you see Coco working, grab a spot at the bar and youll have a wonderful time.
Went Friday at about 6:45pm, were seated right away at the patio. It took a bit of time for a waitress to take our order, which were a bit wrong (2 beers instead of 1, and no grilles onions on burger as requested). Food came kind of quickly, and it was tasty. Place was pack before 8:00 p.m. Environment and Staff was nice.
We went for the “night club”. We got there at 9, when their website says it opens. Lady smoking a cigarette at the door said it actually opens at 10. We wait an hour in the car. Bouncers all smoking and partying at the door, back turned to the line forming. Everyone looked like bulldog. Now it’s 10:15, the line isn’t moving and bouncers are still smoking and having more fun than everyone waiting. We decided we didn’t want to give our money to them for the cover charge and passed.
Giving this a 3 star due to them being out of so much. They were out of 4 different tap beers ended up drinink wine. Ordered the clam chowder and guess what they were out. Although, did have a good time arrived @ 8:30 on a Saturday night they stop serving food @ 9pm @ 10pm the restaurant turns into a club. DJ was playing good music! Food was decent from the looks of the cocktails they looked delicious. Bartender was awesome. Will go back.
We had our first experience here the other night, and I’m really unsure about how to rate this restaurant … everything about our meal ran either really well, or really poorly. There was no in-between. I wasn’t sure whether to give two stars or five. So I went with four for now, because overall, it was more great than poor. But that’s how the visit went - everything we had (both food and drink) was either five-star awesome, or two-star unpleasant. The decor and design is fantastic. The service we got - sitting at the bar since we didn’t have a reservation - was also fantastic: fast, friendly, and very attentive and helpful. The negative situations we did have were dealt with promptly and professionally. The stuff that went poorly:• we ordered fish tacos to share, and when they arrived, they smelled so awful that we sent them back so quickly I didn’t even get a picture of them. I’ve been eating seafood for my entire life, and this was definitely the bad fishy aroma you definitely want to avoid.• the cal fire relief drink was too spicy for either of us to consume. In addition to the spicy ingredients and spicy salt rim, the garnish was half of a raw jalapeño, sliced in half long ways, plus a raw jalapeño ring. The acidity and dry spicy bite the garnish added put the drink over the top. We couldn’t finish it.• similar problem with the Irish mule. Even after adding a second shot of Jameson and more ice to try to mellow out the severe tartness of the drink - the bartender added WAY too much lime juice - even with the extra whisky and ice, it was still too tart and bitter to finish. All of that being said, everything else was absolutely fantastic.• The other three drinks on the sampler flight were freaking delicious, and my wife and I fought a little over who got to drink them!• They carry Flor de Caña 12 year rum from Costa Rica - among many other specialty liquors I noticed - which is awesome.• My wife also got a vodka lemonade drink after our meal that was excellent.• The roasted Brussels sprouts and cheeseburger (get it with garlic fries instead of regular!) were both absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back again to see which evaluation is the more accurate one; I personally have a feeling it’s gonna bump up to the five stars, but I’m not completely sure yet!
Perch + Plow has always had delicious food, but the COCKTAILS are incredible. The wall art is mesmerizing and a complete conversation starter. Regardless of what you order, you will fully enjoy every bite. This particular time, I ordered the salmon which had a beautiful crust on it. Our table ordered the calamari and garlic fries to start. Sometimes, when you get garlic fries, the only garlic is on top. Thats not the case here! The garlic IS piled on top, but the fries are garlic flavored throughout: an absolute delight. The new COVID cocktails are great, so I recommend you go there even just to try those out! Once you go for that, you might as well just try their delicious food too!
Awesome place, awesome vibes, awesome food! Everything has been great so far! Poke was on point, calamari was perfect, blt was made well! Service was good and attentive! Will be back to try more stuff!
In a great location and a cool place for a quick bite and a couple of drinks. Despite unfortunately being out of a few things several times I went, I do love the style of menu, very creative and tasty small dishes with plenty of variety to try. We enjoyed our cocktails while enjoying the venues impressive view over Old Courthouse Square.
I want to give this place more stars because our server was amazing and attentive but the quality of the food wasn’t what I expected. Ordered the ceviche and was not impressed, it needed more flavoring and I’m not sure sweet potato chips were the best choice with this one. Also ordered the cheese plate, it was okay, I would have liked to know what kind of cheeses I was eating since they are not listed on the menu. Also ordered the Kale Caesar salad and it was nothing special, I expected more for the price. My bf also ordered the Octopus and it was way too charred to the point where you couldn’t even taste the octopus, the orange sauce that came with it did not complement it very well. Another thing that was a turn off were the many flies that kept landing on us and our food (pictured). On the other hand, it was a nice looking place, it has a modern but rustic feel to it, the food just needs to be improved.
On the weekends, you go to Perch & Plow for the dance floor. Its decent for that. One of the bartenders was unpleasant and unprofessional last night. I stood at the bar for 20 minutes as other people who had gotten to the bar after me were served. I mentioned this to a guy at the bar next to me with the same problem, which the bartender heard. She then got angry, and told us that wasnt true (I definitely stood at the bar with my card in my hand for a minimum of 15 min) and that shes wasnt going to serve us because we didnt tip. It was both of our first drink - we had no opportunity to tip before. She then proceeded to ignore us for another 10 minutes until the other bartender helped us. I tripped her double. The dance floor is fun, but the music is nothing to write home about. Lots of dudes in hoodies trying to look like theyre not scared of women. Ah, to be 22 again.
My New Favorite Spot in Santa Rosa!Perch + Plow has been around for a year or two but Ive never had the time to go discover it until recently and I dont know why I waited so long! This place is great! The food selection is amazing and well executed with high end offerings to suit a wide range of flavors. When I went I ordered a few of the smaller plates and 1 entree and shared with my lovely date. We were both enjoying all the different flavors and textures.Their Bar is No joke either, I really enjoyed the range of selections they had and picked a nice local beer and a Irish Whiskey to sip on.The ambiance is really nice too. Their dining/bar area is CLEAN (I love that) and they feature some cool wall art and fixtures. If you can, try to get the window seats. They are great for when there are events on the square to sit and enjoy the view/breeze.
Solid American fare! Incredible light and airy feel with the high ceilings in this place, and fun abstract-lite art on the walls. Beautiful looking bar (sorry forgot to take a pic) too. Waitstaff very thoughtful and attentive. Great for a family gathering, brought my aunt and cousin and her bf here. We had an awesome time. Food is excellent, better than expected for what we had planned as a casual lunch. Appetizers about $8 or $9 and sandwich entrees about $15. We had a solid lunch with apps and big entrees for 5 people at about $35 a head with tax and tip included. Make sure to get the kale caesar salad, the local salmon, or the turkey club. All fantastic. Might be a bit tough to find parking, but lots of on-street parking nearby. Also can be fun to stroll 4th street after the meal. Would definitely recommend again for next time we are in Santa Rosa.
Had the Youre my Huckleberry craft cocktail and should have taken pictures of the food. We were are party of 7 for a friends birthday 🎂 it was amazing and they took great care if us. We had the Brussels sprouts, calamari, stuffed dates, peppers and ended on cheasw cake. All were fabulous and delicious would come again for an entre meal. Loved the look and feel of this beautiful Second story place overlooking the historic Courthouse Square. This place is a Sonam County Jem!
Updated: May 1, 2018My First Impression. I love this location, always have over the years. I checked in a short while before they did their soft opening and loved the look and idea of the place and enjoyed the managers I chatted with.I visited during the soft opening a short while ago and was happy with everything about it. The decor is lovely with great wall/door murals from a favorite local artists, Bud Snow, who has some wonderful pieces all over town include graffiti on the old grain elevator in Roseland! The design in well thought out and the only non positive for me (and some other folks) is the huge TV on the East wall by the main bar. This is not a horrible thing, but we have plenty of bars with TVs and electronic screens are well, something it is nice to escape more often than not. These folks practice actual Hospitality from the front entrance to your departure. Now, lets hope this is a continued practice and not just during the early establishing year, or so! One of the thing I valued about the former Flavor (just bellow) was their actual hospitality, It soothed my frustration with the all too often loud atmosphere and hit and miss food. This is vital to a lounge where you can unwind and relax after work, or just because!I only sampled three menu items which were good and fairly priced. There was nothing unique about the menu, typical California Bar/Lounge style choices, but they were well executed. Why you should check this space out though, is the view. 2nd Floor looking West over Old Courthouse Square is under appreciated and unequaled anywhere in Santa Rosa. These new folks also put in opening Windows which this space has never had and there is a bar in front of the windows aching for your company. It is delightful and a reason itself to go.I will be checking back regularly to see how this place evolves and am excited with hope that it has the right idea.5/1/18I am soooo pleased with these folks and this space! It is rare in this day and age as well as here in this amazing place I call home to find a new restaurant/space that not only has a good solid plan, but executes it and doesnt rush, or try to be too trendy. Trends are important to watch, but not necessarily follow. Perch & Plow is now my Favorite Lounge, or stop to unwind place in Downtown SR and almost anywhere in SoCo.Happy Hour(s) are now in full use, M-F 3-6pm. The drinks menu is wonderful and well executed as is the food. I am now a regular for a Pimms Cup and Fish Tacos, with some Mac-n-Cheese when I need a bit more. The service is spot on and consistent and this if often the first thing to go as the newness wears away and the habits become established. Thankfully these folks have created good ones!I am what many would inappropriately call A Tough Customer and how that phrase is often used is pretty much the antithesis of who I am.I am a super easy customer actually. All I need is a friendly feeling place, a smile and good food/drink, period No special drink, dish, action... just comfort and respect. Now, I am also an educated & experienced customer as well as Hospitality Professional and thus I know what is good and what it just okay, or simply not good at all. I understand hospitality and that it is an attitude more than actions ;~>More good things to come I am sure.
First time visiting Santa Rosa. Blown away by the quality of the f-covid cocktail flight. Lucifers indulgence unbelievably complex and nose-mouth-brain pleasing. Maybe raspberries are particularly ripe atm? Fries good. Beet salad just OK. Mushroom risotto hearty, but a little bland. Would come back for drinks and fries.
I dont tend to write reviews. So I will keep it short. Save your money go somewhere else.
Great wings! The steak was amazing but the mash potatoes were cool (not hot enough). They gave me a second serving and it too was not super warm. Our server was very nice and accommodating. However, the ambiance was a bit lacking - too bright and too cold.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the downtown area with something other then a brew pub or burger. Tonight was our 2nd time here in just over a month. We love the decor and atmosphere. Pretty cool spot. Both food and service have been stellar and the staff is professional. Limited menu but it appears they are constantly updating it so perhaps thats part of the plan. What they do offer is quality food and at a reasonable price. Both times my party of 3 has left satisfied and our wallets didnt take a hit. Tonight we had service from the bartender. She was nice and friendly.
Easy to get a table. Seated promptly and staff was friendly. The food was mediocre at best. Ribs with fries- ribs cooked perfect, but over sauced. Fries were not hot. Burger was spongy, salty and tiny. Seafood pasta was over cooked and over salted. I am baffled that anyone would think that the food is acceptable for the price.
Wait staff took a half hour to acknowledge me being there. The table right next to me, who was sat at the same time, just left after the half hourAfter finally being able to over a drink, the table who just sat only had a two minute wait for servicePork belly under cooked paired with a cabbage soup. No chispy seared fat and tender protein. OilyBeet salad....gave multiple attempts of trying, complete disaster. Just beets on a puree of beets, a decent soft cheese, and blackberries.Papas Bravas....maybe but only if 3/8 inch cubed potatoes.Good idea, just poor executionBrussel sprouts solidOver all thumbs down. Food quality and taste bleh. Service staff is horrible. The portion size of the small plate is quite large.Dont waste your time
I didnt go for dinner service, only late night club time. Service was glacially slow. I get the sense that theyre short staffed. For example, my cocktail was served in a hot glass that came out of the dishwasher. Bouncer was rude, and made jokes that were in very poor taste.
This place has apparently not done well post-pandemic and seems to likely be struggling with management issues. To start, there was broken glass on the stairs leading up the the restaurant (literally everywhere) and ants crawling on the bar. Our water glasses were also dirty. Not a great start to the evening.Maybe the food and drinks would make up for it? Sadly, nope. Everything was incredibly mediocre (3 different appetizers) and the drinks had WAY too much juice/sugar. My wife could only stomach about a quarter of her cocktail. There was also standing bleach water in the restrooms...Its really hard to describe just how poor everything was top to bottom. The only silver lining is that the staff were largely friendly and helpful, but that did little to save this place from being described a dive.We had intended to stay for dinner, but decided to pick up and leave after appetizers. Very disappointing experience...
Honestly, we had quite a disappointing experience here. I came with a group of 11 for my bachelorette party (made the reservation WELL in advance!!), and 3 of the primary items on the very small dinner menu were not available to order (including a staple— the burger). The service was overall so-so, and then we came back later in the night once the restaurant turned into a club… and could NOT order a drink, the service was so awful. I stood in line for 50 minutes and was never even looked at. It made me feel so silly and neglected. Such a bummer for a really special weekend.
Possibly the best crispy skin salmon Ive ever had! The staff is incredible, decor is super cute and the drinks are top notch. The smoked hickory bourbon cocktail is a must!
Food was mediocre at best. Came here last night with my wedding group of 10 and I was slightly embarrassed. We ordered almost everything on the menu to share. The ceviche was overly sour (I know it’s supposed to be drenched in lime but there was nothing to counteract the lime, like they do in Central America), and no chips or anything to accompany it. The ribs and fries were nothing to write home about. The wings were good, as were the bacon wrapped mushrooms. The mushroom and spinach is just that 2 ingredients and a lot of butter sautéed together, for $11. The aubergine dish was also just cut vegetables dehydrated in an air fryer or something, no seasoning. The jumbo shrimp dish for $18 was just 6 shrimp you find at the grocery store. The calamari batter was flavorless, and came with cocktail sauce?? The fish & chips were fine, again nothing to write home about. The crispy rice had the HOTTEST jalapeño slices on it (and I actually like spice! My poor in-laws were dying); the rice was nice and crispy but unfortunately flavorless. Many of the dishes were left unfinished despite the fact that we came in starving.Overall, I would say this was food to put in our stomachs, and I wouldn’t have complained if the bill didn’t come out to be so high.
This place has amazing potential! Killer space and nice food. However, the wine list is like walking into a Safeway and the service was odd (the waiter swatted a bug right over our table among other things). I hear the cocktails are great but didn’t have one this time around. Will definitely go back and hope for a more innovative wine list and different server.
I love hanging out here with friends and family. The food is great, the cocktails are excellent, and above all I love the atmosphere. Its a great place for just having drinks, maybe some bar snacks if your hungry, or it makes for a great lunch/dinner date. They are currently offering outdoor dining in concert with their indoor dining upstairs so you have lots of options for seating.
Leaving an honest review in hopes that theyre listening to feedback so soon after opening. The food was good quality but under-seasoned all around. The interior is really quite nice, but the party I was with all agreed they need to turn down the lights to better set the mood. The wine list could be dramatically improved (and made cheaper!) by sourcing smaller, local wineries rather than relying on the overly expensive big guys. The bar selection is great, the cocktails are fun and interesting, so Ill be back if only to see whats new there. With a few tweaks to address the above, it could become a favorite!EDIT: having gone again, I can say the food has improved significantly since opening, and well be returning more often. Yum!
First time I went for cocktails and I enjoyed the experience. Second time I went for dinner and was quite disappointed. Food was fairly bland and seemed a bit on the expensive side for what it was. Ordered a small plate and an large plate the small plate (pork belly fried rice) was tasty. Also had a large plate came on the same size plate and actually had less food on it, was a much simpler and really pretty boring dish (glorified pesto pasta). Service was fairly slow and inattentive. I would return for drinks as its a fun cocktail bar but I wouldnt recommend for dinner.
This place was a treat! Love their happy hour and views of the plaza. Server was very nice. Tacos were especially yummy. Their smoked old fashioned was so great! That flavored smoke was the big treat. They sure have a skilled bartender there, the happy hour menu drinks were great and creative too!
The food was amazing. And my fish was cooked perfectly.Highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is dope.
Decent drinks and really good food. The staff was a bit slow, but thats been my experience all over. The atmosphere was cool but it did turn into a random nightclub towards the end of my dinner.
We were here in the spring before the plague. The atmosphere was peaceful even though the place was full of people. Thats something that I deeply appreciate. The food was lovely and the service was thoughtful. I remember we let our french fries get cold, and our server brought us a fresh batch, complimentary. Its the little things like that. Ill be back there for sure. Good bar, too.
Sat at the bar on Valentines Day. Amazing service, delicious food. My steak was cooked perfectly! And after tuna tartar and calamari appetizer I ended up taking steak home and some truffle fries both still tasted great next day!
Drinks were just juice. Risotto was tasteless and soggy. My husbands potato from his fatty steak was better than my whole meal. The calamari was good. If you wanna drink some 13$ juice with some pretty good apps this is your place other than that. There are much better places in town. I would skip this joint
Enjoyed a light dinner here Thursday evening around 6pm and they were not very busy. We ordered three items with drinks: Philly fries, brussels sprouts, and the yakisoba. The brussels sprouts dish was VERY IMPRESSIVE!! I almost wanted to order another plate! The yakisoba was good too, but we couldnt finish it. The Philly fries were okay, I suppose it would be what youd expect it would be, but it wasnt anything to write home about. The décor and atmosphere was definitely unique and pleasant. Id recommend coming here with a group so you can try different and more things.
We were in the Santa Rosa area and found an excellent casual dinner spot. While they have a few larger dinner plates, they seem to specialize in smaller tapas style plates. We really enjoyed the beet salad, warm Brie and berries, and especially the pork belly and rice dishes. I was also impressed with the skill of the bartenders at the large bar. They were working hard cranking out complex drink orders. Solid vibe. Nice night out.
We came in for drinks only, 4 adults and 1 teenager. It was approximately 1/3 full and our order was taken pretty quickly. It took 25-30 minutes to get all our drinks, they came at separate times, they didnt know how to make an Irish mule and they had no grenadine for a Shirley temple. The mule finally showed up after we had to chase down our drink and explain how to make it and the Shirley temple showed up as a tart lemonade and cherry juice mess. The table next to us got sat after us, received their drinks and food order before we got all our order. Wont be going back there.
We went as a party of six with reservations. Service was sloooooow. We spent far too long waiting in between drinks, then apps, then dinner. The Margarita was good but considering the other reviews of the cocktails, we were disappointed. Brussels sprouts were delicious, salmon was over cooked...as was the risotto. Disappointed. Won’t be back.
Went for drinks around 9:30pm on a Friday and loved the selection. Drinks were well-crafted! Around 10pm, a DJ even got started blasting music and one part of the space was turned into a dance floor. Music was a thorough mix of 90s, 00s, 10s, and current!
Perch and Plow exceeded the expectations of bad service. My bf and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary based on all the reviews. We made a reservation for 7:15. We arrived and were sat quickly. That was the only good part of the experience. Our server did not seem to want to be there... we got one glass of water slammed on the table and minutes later she brought the second. She took one drink order but brought it only way after we had order appetizers, main course and dessert, because she forgot the beer order. We eventually got our drinks and appetizer. But we sat for 2 hours and our actual meal never came. She only checked on us when my bf had finished his beer. During that time 2 tables were sat and within less than 20 to 30 minutes they had their meals. When we spoke to the hostess there was really no apology, empathy or reason as to why we had waited that long for food. We left at 9:10pm having had no dinner. We sat for 2 hours with a beer, a glass of wine and garlic fries. Never had I experience such thing. And is such a disappointment because it was the first time going out to dinner after the pandemic lockdown.
My girlfriend and I were very excited to hear that this place was open again because it was one of our favorite places to go. Great service, amazing drinks and atmosphere, but the food was what would keep us coming back. After tonight though, were upset. Service was still spectacular however the food really disappointed us. The menu on the website was completely different from the menus we were given, which was fine, but the food was subpar. I asked for my burger medium rare but it was well done, my girlfriend asked hers to be medium and it was practically raw and lukewarm. Im not sure if ownership changed or if they lost the original chefs due to covid, which is unfortunate. Hopefully things will improve if we decide to come back.
The food...fresh, yummy, beautiful presentation. Lucky to have Executive Chef Ted Williams in Santa Rosa. Perch + Plow delivers on service, ambiance, and a compelling menu. Pair your favorite with their outstanding cocktails! Highest rating on a downtown dining and night-out experience, the welcoming and friendly staff treat you like royalty. Working lunches and girls night out, delicious California cuisine; this place is my favorite.
Really nice new restaurant downtown. The food was great; we had the burger, chicken sandwich, ceviche, octopus, drinks.... The wait staff and hosts were friendly and helpful. The decor is modern and clean, the acoustics however are pretty poor. It was very noisy and there was somewhat of a bar scene which made it difficult to have a conversation. I would definitely go back for the food (ceviche especially) and atmosphere, but maybe not on a Friday or Saturday night.
The cocktails here are inspired. The smoking gun cocktail is delicious and entertaining. The bites are very tasty. Staff is cordial. I went on a Saturday evening when they brought in a DJ and enjoyed dancing with my friends and seeing everyone have a good time. There was a great mix of musical styles.
First time eating here, and the food was amazing. The service was great! Very nice design and cleanliness. Definitely will be back again.
From being ignored by the hostess(?) To being ignored by the waitress who clearly had eyes only on the tip from the very large birthday table. To constant mistakes (including how the $46 steak was cooked & inedible burgers). We had to get our own silverware from the front. We had to bus our own table. Did I mention the food was bad? I Cant believe they took $200 of my money.DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I think we should have seen it as a sign and left when we walked in and there were only two tables at 7 pm on a Saturday night. I had one of the worst drinks that I’ve ever had, and the service was terrible. They were out of quite a bit as well. I really wanted to like it, but this place isn’t great.
My husband and I tried this place twice. I liked my food, but wasnt as good as my expectations. All the meat we have ordered thus far has been way over cooked. We have tried their chicken, steak, hamburger, and octopus. Scallops were good but not filling at all. The drinks are awesome 👌
This is a beautiful, stylish modern restaurant in Santa Rosa! I feel lucky to have found it while traveling to Sonoma County in July. The food was creative, farm-to-table, delicious, and well-prepared. The service was excellent and our server was both kind and well-informed of the menu. All of the service staff were well-dressed and tidy. The restaurant is on the second floor and there is a lovely town square just outside providing green space for walking before and after dinner. I highly recommend Perch+Plow!
Worst place ever the security for the night club harass you in the girls bathroom for no reason barging into bathroom stalls while girls are trying to use the restroom no sense of safety
Just went here for the first time last night. Showed up at around 9:00 pm Saturday night for some drinks. Great ambiance, cool red mood lighting, great DJ, love the club vibe. But the two giant flat screens at the bar were playing wheel of fortune and the local news. Kind of a mood killer! Pick a lane haha! My old fashioned was great though ;)
I had a pretty poor experience. Placed an order for a chicken salad and though not listed, it came with a hard boiled egg. I asked the gentleman who brought it to me (older, white haired) if it came with a hard boiled egg, and he said yes. When i mentioned that this wasnt listed on the menu so it caught me by surprise, he asked if I wanted them to remake it, to which I said yes, please. 3 minutes later he brings me another salad and this time it doesnt have egg, but also doesnt have blue cheese, which IS on the menu. I let our original server know and she was very kind in having it corrected. Unfortunately, when the correct dish came, it was really bad. The salad was thrown together haphazardly, there were about 2 extra long pieces of shredded carrot, and the chicken was so dry and bland. This salad was $17! Truly not good and absolutely not worth the price for a salad that could not have been more lazily made. My server was kind enough to remove it from the bill, but overall I had a poor experience and would not return
We went here for Mother’s Day. We were seated at 9:55. It was probably 10:20 before we received menu’s and water. Service was terrible. They brought out 1/4th of our order at about 10:40, which was the French toast. It came out very soggy like it had been sitting a while so we sent it back. At 10:55 they brought out the rest of the food which wasn’t even what we ordered. They brought out two steak and eggs that we hadn’t ordered the seafood Benedict that was ordered and what looked liked the same soggy French toast we had sent back. When we told the waiter that was not our ordered, he looked at me and said well some of them must be. Which two out of four were. At that point after sitting with a toddler for more than an hour with no food we decided to just get the check and leave. The waiter when we told him we were getting frustrated that we’d been waiting a over an hour, his reply was we haven’t even been open an hour. When we asked for the check the waiter did waive the check. So we left and went next door where we had much better service.
This place is really unique. Happy hour consists of the traditional bar foods done very well and there is something for everyone on it. However Ive had hit or miss days with the chicken wings. The main menu has many different flavors and a variety of foods for most. However picky eaters may have trouble with the main menu. The main attraction for me is the cocktail list. They really have it dailed in.
This is my second time dining here. First time was two years ago and the restaurant was much too loud and the service was not very attentive. This time, I had a reservation and waited 40 minutes after arriving for said reservation. After being seated, the server took forever to bring water, the bus person brought the wine and no corkscrew and was quite surly when we asked her to open the bottle. The risotto was not hot when it arrived, food was of just adequate quality, the Zinfandel was subpar. And, after all that the manager did not even credit anything on our tab. Will not be coming back.
Server was friendly and cocktails good, but almost no gluten-free options on the menu outside of the salads. Made it tough for dinner, as my partner has celiac. We settled for just a salad, then moved onto another restaurant for a proper din (with plenty of gf options!)

Apparently arriving early for our reservation at 9 and being seated promptly was the end of the service they chose to issue us. If you desire a night of theatrical excellence featuring the incompetence that is the new trend in society I highly recommend sitting at the restaurant as you will not be served or addressed but hey we all have time to waste, right? I am not sure if the waitress was overwhelmed by our order of two waters and two drinks; or the fact that we were an interracial couple in today’s world that caused her to lose all capacities for 40 minutes and not acknowledge us or bring us waters. When asked by a separate waitress at 9:40 if we were ready to order food we said yes and promptly walked away and did not return. Apparently a completed task was above her abilities. When I approached the manager to inquire why the 40 min delay on waters I was informed they were busy but could clearly serve those who arrived after. We were informed the kitchen was closed. We promptly left. I recommend skipping.
This will seem like an odd review, but the food and drinks were quite good. The reason for one star is that there was an older gentleman behind the bar not wearing a mask preparing items for drinks/cocktails (and he touched his face a few times). It honestly prevented me from wanting to order more items because of how bothersome that was. The staff was nice and did a good job of checking on our party.Again, if that one older guy handling food had worn a mask then 5 stars, but his lack of doing so makes me question what other ordinances they are not following. Not sure I would recommend based on what I saw.
Was there for lunch with a huge group March 2019. Such a great place. Hanger steak melts in your mouth. Soooo delicious. The space is modern and beautiful, overlooking Courthouse Square. Now I didnt pay, but looked at the menu and prices were on target for bay area. Lots of hard surfaces so its a bit noisy, take off 1/4 point for that. But still rounds up to 5 starsExcellent. Highly recommended.
Wonderful service and excellent food! If you want food that rivals any fine dining experience with a more casual feel and faster service, this place is for you! Our anniversary dinner was absolutely amazing! Tip: dont miss the cheesecake!
We had an enjoyable, very tasty dinner, appetizers and drinks. Wait staff very attentive and helpful when we asked for more sauce.. The salmon was expertly cooked with a balsamic reduction. Very pleased with overall experience
Great cocktails! They have limited (next to nothing) vegetarian options in entrees but there are plenty in small plates, salads and soups. I got the beet salad, and cabbage of which the salad was great and the cabbage was okay. Thoroughly recommend the place for their drinks.
Dont get the burger. its frozen patties and gross Walmart cheese.
Limited menu however food and staff were excellent. A very casual open floorplan. Good cocktails too but their signature drinks are all a little sweet for my taste. I would suggest offering something a little more masculine to the drink menu.
Great food and cocktails with exceptional service. We had the brussel sprouts, scallops, and Caesar salad to start, then the salmon and wagyu filet for dinner. Would definitely recommend to anyone stopping through the area.
This would have been 5 stars for the food and drinks- amazing! Servixe was a 2 star. Cool drink flight with unique cocktails. Delish food, 1 friend said beat scallops shes had in a loooong time. Our only issue was, it took 25 minutes (yes we timed it and had to get up to talk to a server as she never came back for any sort of update) to get our drinks and then our apps and dinners all came out 2 minutes after the drinks, together...so we went 25 minutes of nothing, to having everything at once, which obviously we couldnt eat and drink everything at that point, so was little let down.
Place was bigger than expected and I liked the open upstairs bar style seating. Good drinks and food, we went for happy hour and the waiter was very kind and even came back for a last call on happy hour which not all places do. No complaints, just a very pleasant overall experience.
Food was great. We had appetizer salads and entrees and all were exceptional!! Owner was doing the best that he could considering the circumstances that nobody wants to work. Great guy and shows what the true meaning of hard work is. Something most people are lacking now a days
Pretty small portions for the price. My whiskey sour had chunks of egg white in it., guess it wasn’t frothed or shaken long enough? Pretty disappointed, didn’t stay for an entree based on appetizer sizes and drink quality.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. We love sitting up above the world so high and looking out across Courthouse Square and the gathering sunset. Fabulous!
The smash burger isnt really a smash burger. Its just another Plane Jane burger. But the service was good. They should just change the name and call it something else.
This place is meant to have drinks. Do not order food here. Maybe get a cheese plate but thats it. The chefs here dont know what theyre doing. Everything was subpar, the octopus was overcooked, it was super rubbery and it was burnt. I think it was cooked in its ink which gave it a really bitter taste. The salad, which I forgot to take picture of, sounded good on the menu but when it arrived - it was super bland, just lettuce and kale. Seriously, the food here is as basic as it gets and theyre charging premium prices here. Total tourist trap, avoid at all costs. Theyre drinks are good and they have a good selection of wines but please stay away from the food. The staff is great here but seriously management needs to invest in some real chefs here. We learned from the locals that the places to go are either Willies Seafood and Raw bar or El Coqui for some amazing food and if you have time drive over to Spud point crab company or Sunflower cafe those are places that are legitimately good not paying for reviews.
I went to the Plow for the second time today. The service was questionable both times. A very avid server kept attempting to clean up without being mindful that he was interrupting a conversation and the clean up was not needed at that time. Today an OK server , served us and then seemed to have forgotten an order. After waiting for 20 minutes for a simple fish taco ( on the Happy Hour Menu) , I decided to walk to the open kitchen to enquire . A very irate server approached my table and confronted me with the words, Did you just walk to the kitchen? I know how to keep my cool and gently explained that when something is amiss, I know how to take charge. To which her reply was that there are people in front of you. I raised my brow and questioned their efficacy as there were barely any people seated at tables at the time. The tacos arrived quickly and she cooled off and finished the service. My friend , a kind gentleman, politely left the customary tip too. All in all, not a very happy experience perching and slowly plowing.
We expected alot more from this restaurant after looking them up. Their prices made it seem like the could serve very good food, but alot of the meat tastes burned. Price steaks were hurned outside and had a horrible taste.Even some grilled veggies tastes burned. Over priced and over rated. The server also got one order wrong.
Group party of 25 on a Friday night for drinks was a good call. Serviced us fast and drinks were good.
Did Christopher Columbus brought your sound system. Please update.
Short review: I do not recommend this restaurant. Bad service, bad management and overpriced cold and uncooked food. On a good note, atleast they allow dogs with you while dinning outside.Long review: I was hoping that the recent bad reviews about the terrible service and bad food were just one time things, but it was all true!Apearently they over reserved the restaurant and where understaffed. Wish they told us about it before we ordered, we would have gone somewhere else, even though we made reservations.Food took over an hour to arrive after ordering only 4 meals. All meals were cold when they arrived. One order was under cooked and gooey, twice! Another order was incorrect. Staff only checked on us 4 times during our 2+ hour stay, got water refilled 3 times and only received 2 beverages out of the 4 we originally ordered. We even saw two separate tables pack up and leave due to the lack of service.Overall we were left with a terrible experience, overpriced food for what we received and we wont be coming back anytime soon.On a good note, atleast they allow dogs with you while dinning outside.
The space is lovely. They really did a number on it. Food was OK. Service was good at the bar. Bartender could have known more about the foods on the menu.... but he was very attentive. The hostess seemed way too frazzled than she should have been on a Tuesday at noon. Our food took 28 minutes to get out and there weren’t more than 20 covers in the whole place at the time.We ordered a gem salad and chix sando and turkey jus. Both sandos had little meat on them, mostly bread and were put together poorly at best. Our salad and sandwiches came out all at once too. There was no mention of “would you like your salad first?”.I know it’s a new spot but the runner didn’t know which seat to drop food at either. All things that should be ironed out....$8 beers???Will not be frequenting this spot. I wish them the best but they need to have mind-blowing food for me to justify an $80 tab for lunch on the regular when I can go to local breweries or other local places and get great beer for far less and delicious food.
Wouldnt serve us because they were closing early even though we had a RESERVATION on Mothers Day. Took my mom there yesterday evening for mothers day, I had called to make a reservation the day before and they said they could fit us in at 7:45. We showed up at 7:50 and they said that the kitchen closed at 8 so we had to order fast, then we didnt even get sat at our table when they said Sorry but the kitchen is closed so they couldnt serve us. I explained that we had a reservation and that the hostess on the phone put us down for 7:45, why would you make a reservation 15 minutes before closing??? Also, the hours online say you close at 9:30 on Sunday. Sorry, I asked my manager, the kitchen is closed. Totally ruined our mothers day, every other restaurant was booked solid so we just had to go home. :( Didnt even offer us anything for our troubles, not how you should do business.
Hip atmosphere, good menu, nice flavor, professional service.Sweet potato chip need a different format, or means of eating them. Theyre too thin and difficult to eat. Flavor and yogurt aioli was good though.Octopus was excellent.Burrata was well balanced and subtle flavors.
Really a great place to eat - food was excellent - the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the overall noise level was really high - I caught myself feeling like I had to talk louder to my dinner partner so he could hear me over the ambient noise level. We sat in the front section of the restaurant, not sure if that had anything to do with it or if its any quieter in the back part. However, this place is definitely worthy of a return visit.
Beautiful atmosphere, attentive staff, delicious food and tasty drinks! Came here for our 4 year anniversary dinner! Highly recommend! If youre into tequila, get the wild thornberrys!
Food is really great. Especially the ceviche and blistered peppers. I felt bad for our server since the restaurant was way understaffed on a super busy night.
Great place for a girls dinner. There were 13 of us and I was able to call ahead and get a special family style chefs choice meal that was wonderful! The drinks at both fun and delicious!
It feels like you’ve found a secret hideout when you go in, but after dining here I don’t think you’ll keep it to yourself! It’s awesome. Great ambiance, fairly priced for the incredible food and killer drinks! The bacon smoked bourbon is smokin! We had the chicken fried sandwich and fish stew. Both were delicious! I have to give the highest compliments to the co-owner Johun and to our waiter Bruce or “Brucifer” ( as he refers to himself 😂) who were both so on point, attentive, professional and just wonderful! This spot is a gem and Santa Rosa is lucky they are here!
Food was meh, a bit too much salt and pepper on the soup and salad. Charred cauliflower was not actually charred, and slightly undercooked. Staff was friendly though and it has a nice atmosphere and decor.
Love Perch and Plow!Cocktails are very well balanced and always delicious!Food is awesome! Im vegan and unfortunately gluten free, but they hit it home every time.
Drinks are strong but expensive, very few veggie options. Dinner is way overpriced, but that just means getting salad instead. The salads are the price of a more reasonable entree, and are very good. Service is friendly and prompt.
Food was excellent, drinks were interesting. Very attentive staff. Busy for a Saturday night, but the staff were apologetic for orders taking a while. I guess if I were impatient it would have been a big deal, but we werent in a rush.
Great bartender. Very chill relaxing vibe. Not too crowded when we went on a Saturday night. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts
Really great atmosphere. Servers know the menu well and offered great insights into both the cocktails and the food. Dishes are well priced and portioned.
I guess they’re only serving the Covid menu. The one on their website was why we came. They couldn’t make the old fashioned my husband wanted to try. Beet salad flavorless and pricey. There are way better restaurants in Santa Rosa. Anything Starke owned is a winner.
The food is great but the servers could use a little attitude adjustment. Serving food is all about friendly and positive customer service while answering questions so it goes without saying those answers should be just as polite as the initial question. When you fire back in a snippy manner it doesnt really represent the establishment in the manner it deserves.
Our first exotic experience at this Fine Restaurant was definitely a Five Star Meal and Service👏Our scrumptous Meal of Seared Scallops and Salmon was definitely to write home about...Our Servers Garrison was also the Very Best and 5 Star Himself ..
Great spot in downtown. Overlooks the square. Cool interior with interesting paintings on the walls. Excellent food. Excellent cocktails. Would recommend!
Nice space. Great cocktails. Delicious food. My favorites were the ceviche and the chocolate mousse. The fish stew was good too. Highly recommended.
Cover charge and dress code. Paid 10$ for me and 5$ for my girl just for the bar to be dead at 11pm on a Friday night. Just go to petaluma for free.
Highly recommended! Great food, good portions and not over priced. Nice wine and spirits selection. Well definitely be back.
Slow Wednesday night, plenty of time to order before the end of happy hour. Hardly anyone in the house and we wait over 15 minutes with only a menu and water to show for it. Bad attitude and unwelcoming - we left.
The small plates are quite large and the cocktails were some of the best in town. Nice small beer list. Staff is fantastic, and speedy service.
It was good, the appetizers were delicious but they did get our orders confused with other guests who ordered the same items. It does get busy around happy hour so plan accordingly.
The food is good, there are definitely some dishes that are better than others though. I recommend the beet salad and the porkchop along with the donuts for dessert. The cocktail flight was also nice
Server not friendly. Started meal in fairly quite atmosphere then thumpin music from DJ started. Disappointed to say the least. Food good but nothing to write home about.
Had 12 noon reservations through open table for my wifes birthday. Place was supposed to open at 11:30am but we were there a little before noon and place locked up, no way to get in. Devastated as this was a surprise. If you are not open say so on your website and do not take reservations!!!
Horrible food, even the basic french fries were not cooked well. First and last time here.
The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was good. The only complaint I have is that it gets a bit noisy so it can be hard to have conversations across a table. But the food and service were top notch
The food was good but the portions unsatisfactory. No sides with the dinner plates. Small portions for sure. We were ready to eat again after a couple of hours. Disappointing. Pricey for the portion served.
Hip, updated, clean, lovely relaxed open atmosphere. Menu was interesting, really makes you appreciate different textures and flavors... A bit overpriced for the ridiculously small portions.
Food was delicious, however the cocktails were light on alcohol and our waitress seemed off put by asking questions about the menus/menu items.
Ive only been for happy hour, but the happy hour menu has tasty food and good drinks. Service is quality as well. A good place in downtown Santa Rosa.
Food is delicious but portions are small for what you pay. We ordered the Ahi Tuna poke, grilled Octopus, and Pork Chop. The Pork Chop was my favorite!
Yummy small plates to share and sample new flavors, they have cool bar style seeing that over looks the park square. Delicious and quality foods.
The fried chicken sandwich was great! I also enjoyed the spicy tequila drink. A bit loud inside, but not too terrible.
Best pork chop i have ever had. Cooked perfectly. I dont like the polenta but the meat was worth it. Our waiter Michael was great
Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Unique drinks. What else is there? This is exactly what downtown Santa Rosa needs. It is nice to see a restaurant take the lead.
I love this place for the tapas style and cool drinks. I didnt give five stars because the bar couldnt make a paper plane or a negroni.
This is a bar not a restaurant. Chicken wings oily, the floor sticky, warm beer, cosmopolitan taste a juice. Not good place.
Nice cocktail bar. Knowledgeable bartenders. Strange that it closes so early (10pm), in any other city that would be ridiculous. But for Santa Rosa I suppose its normal.
Yum. Great decor. Mushroom, potato leek chives soup and crudo was fantastic. Fritto Misto and crispy pork belly was a bit oily but delicious.
Blood orange margarita and yummy snacks for happy hour...what a Wednesday! Loved the roasted brussel sprouts, and the fish tacos. SO stuffed!!!
Awesome customer service and great food! Ordered the seafood risotto, beet salad and calamari. I loved every dish!
Eccentric atmosphere, good food, peaceful vibes, super f$*#in nice bartenders, and delicious drinks. Its a must see/must go kinda place. :)
When i get my tab even before my drinks arrive 20minutes later not super happy ....have never seen this in any night club. Would have run a tab ...but was never asked ...just closed out
For a little courthouse square lunch or an evening of a cool lively bar vibe this place has it... A little upscale but not too pricy...
Decor is nice. Fun signature cocktails that are just okay. Appetizer we had wasnt great
Great place for karaoke.
Super tasty chocolate cake and pasta :)) thank you
The bar back put her finger in my drink and then yelled at me when I asked for a new one. Hahha this place isn’t as fun as I thought
Great for cocktails, but didnt get great service eating alone on a Saturday night. Food was good, but service lacked.
The bartenders are artists when it comes to cocktails. Food is fresh and visually stunning. Love the open space.
Great find tonight... in Santa Rosa because Napa cant figure out how to open a Costco... stopped for dinner and we will be back... great management and staff make the excellent food even better... worth the drive over the hill... we will be back
We had made reservations online for a Birthday Celebration and when we arrived at Restuarant they were closed. We were shocked at the poor customer service & management and will never receive our business again!!!
Best pulled pork slider in town. Not as pretentious as the name sounds. Not bad creme brulee either.
The fried chicken sandwich is awesome! No surprise it won best sandwich during the Craft Cup at the Battle of the Brews.
Great view and location. Drinks are stiff and cocktails are good. Definitely not cheap but good nonetheless.
Lovely place. Stellar food and drinks. Great service. Definitely make this your stop if you are in downtown Santa Rosa.
They need to hire more servers, it took forever. Food wasnt bad but not great and portions are small for the price. Might be better on a week night.
I won’t be Back. Loud , took forever to get our drinks (our apps came out first ), and my ‘large plate ‘ entree was so minuscule I left hungry . Not worth the price & even the atmosphere was lacking .
My go-to for client lunches. Always impresses. Also has the best cocktails in Sonoma County.
Dinned outside and in. Food and cocktails 🍸 were good.* Would like to see ALL staff wearing masks 😷 and wearing them properly.
Good food. Drinks were yummy. Staff was good but needed to be a tad more timely. Worth it though.
Very attentive and friendly staff, awesome craft cocktails, good food! Oh, and a comfortable environment. Whats not to love?!
Rotating drinks and ever improving menu items makes this place better and better. Come early for happy hour, or right around 6:30 for dinner.
Great cocktails good food. Small menu but what they have they do well.
Food was fantastic! Weekend lunch. Great to have some gluten free options. I enjoyed everything.
2 stars for cocktails. 4 stars for food. The octopus was uncomparably amazing. Order it.
OK. Still new and getting settled in. Food was fine, cocktail menu was solid. Id wait a month or two before trying.
The flight if cocktails was nothing to write home about... but the chicken marsala was absolutely delectable.
The security is top notch. Especially Jimmy. Great guy.
Great place for lunch and dinner. Amazing service and menu. Cocktails cant be beat.
Tasty small plates to share plus creative cocktails. And a great view of Courthouse Square.
Hidden gem with fabulous drinks, friendly service, and Happy Hour prices you cant beat.
Closes a hour before closing, the bouncer is rude and unprofessional
Had a friend with Celiacs with us - he was thrilled with the menu. Food was amazing and service was grear.
There was a full blown fight at the door but other than that it was a vibe
Beautiful space, creative cuisine, very attentive and friendly service. Great to see another nice restaurant in Santa Rosa.
Definitely fun place! Not too crowded.Staff is very attentive and super fast!
Nit impressed with the service or the food. Felt a bit austentatious and over priced
Nice decor, and layout. Small menu and kind of overpriced. The food is good.
Food was good, server was awesome !
