I went here Saturday night. I must say I was a bit reluctant to go because the pictures my wife showed me from their page looked like a jam packed night club. However I was very pleasantly surprised. The bartender were very attentive and pleasurable, even better than the high end steak house we had just had dinner at. The drinks were good. The food looked to be ordinary bar food from what I could see on other peoples tables. They had live music that night which is the reason we went. This was definitely the highlight of the night as the band was absolutely killer. Theyre call Retro-Active. Very very good. Better than some of the bands we have paid to see. Ended up having a great night and will definitely return. Especially when that band is playing again.
We went there on a Saturday night. It had a live band and they played the best music. It was super packed but there was still a good walkway to make it to any restrooms. We had a blast here to end our night. I wish we could have got there earlier though because we didn’t get a close spot to the live band. So my suggestion is get there early if you wanna be close. They play good music all the way from throwbacks to newer songs as well. Almost any genre too. I would 100% recommend this place!
Best bar to watch the 49ers game! Only 49ers bar in Scottsdale and they do a great job creating a fun atmosphere! Multiple TVs, game sound, actual 49ers sounds from the stadium play over the speakers, touchdown shots, beer bucket specials, amazing food… the list goes on. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to watch the 49ers game or any football game! Will be back.
Unfortunately not very impressed. Bathrooms were not clean. Maybe because we were there late? $15 drinks in Scottsdale the usual. Went there to see Rock Lobster, definitely not my favorite venue.
We came on a slow night (Sunday) but they had a good 3 piece “band” that was quite entertaining. (People who could fly). The bartender made a good whiskey sour and the beers were good as well! Would like to come back on a Friday or Saturday as I would guess it really gets kicking on those nights!VictorB
My first time there was pleased the staff was friendly I have delivered beer to Old Town Scottsdale for a while now and I dont really frequent most of the places I deliver to but really love the sound system and the atmosphere the live music was great the crowd changed to a little younger after about 10:30 but that was okay cuz most of them seem to be friendly in the atmosphere was still Pleasant all in all the great experience and I would recommend this place we didnt eat anything but the drinks were on point
Great place in the district in Scottsdale. Great music. The servers and the security peeps are friendly and very helpful. It was a fun evening to celebrate our daughters 27th with her friends. There were people of all ages there and great place for people watching if you are into that sort of thing!
I think this place is fun especially when they have a live band at night. Great vibe except when the security was taking out the tables to open up the floor in front of the stage, the security guards just shoved me out of the way pretty forcefully. I could understand if it was crowded and if it was too loud to get my attention but it wasnt even busy yet, they easily could have just asked me to move. The place is also on the pricier side. Im pretty sure they add an extra charge for using a credit card
Nice, classy place to enjoy live music, happy hour or to just have a cold one in one of their 3 bars intertwined together. Very close to a 5 Star. Slow service, at times, was the only thing that was an issue for me and that was because it was Super Busy due to the popularity of the place. Very friendly staff.
This place is suchhhh a good time!! Definitely the place to go in OT. I used to go to the other clubs but outgrew the repetitive edm/rave music. I LOVE the live music at this place & the service is phenomenal. I went for my sister’s bachelorette party and our bottle waitress Zerren was such an angel. She was very attentive to our table and even suggested we got champagne, which my sister loved!!! Drinks were good, music was great, and environment was fun! Highly recommend if you want to go out in Scottsdale.
I initially wrote a very negative review based on some drink charges I felt were unfair. After speaking with management, they went above and beyond to correct the situation and make it right. They gave me a full refund, which was more than I asked for, and welcomed us back in an effort to ensure the situation was corrected. I was really upset, but Marcelle treated me with absolute respect and heard/acknowledged my concerns and made it right. Also the vibes were great - good music and the Ski Lodge upstairs was super fun. Really goes to show how good customer service can turn a situation around. My friends and I will definitely be back!
The place is overall cool but the door guy (bald ginger with a beard) is extremely rude for no reason. Apparently if you have someone that looks remotely like you, he can’t tell the difference. Was literally there a few hours earlier for a bar crawl and got falsely accused of being in the wall? And when asking when this supposedly happened, apparently ego was hurt and wasn’t let in but yet couldn’t give any details of the incident. I’ve literally been there less than 10 times ever so I found it comical. You should probably reconsider him as I have heard bad things from several other people. I went a few times and tried to convince friends to go there and they all had something similar to say. Unfortunate to say the least. Awesome live music but service is also subpar.
Guapo made our night!! Come check this place out! Great drinks and live music!!
Please BEWARE- we were given sugar water for our shots. We were a group of 5 women and immediately brought it to another bartender’s attention that we were robbed. They did this on two separate occasions and charge you high prices before getting your drinks.
Don’t go here during the day for the themed “parties”. Tried Boy Bands & Mimosas and it didn’t seem like the poor bartenders knew the event was happening. Very good bartenders!
I love wasted grain so much! Andrew is so nice and made us girls feel so safe. He’s the reason we come here!
Great service. It was on our bucket list to check it out. Sunday afternoon was very slow so I guess we missed the party. Will go back when its busier to check it our
Came in for a friends reservation for the playoffs and our service was amazing considering how busy it was. Our server zeren was super fun, and our drinks were never empty! The food was really good and the atmosphere was great ! Would definitely come back! Ask for Zeren shes amazing!
Mesquite, the food for the value is okay! Hands down delicious. Theyre fast, clean, lots of options. The Chefs put love into the work and you can tell. Yes, Ive eaten here at least a few dozen times and will be back a few dozen more! Do you mouth a favor and show up! You will not be disappointed! Or if you feel Im wrong, call me and well go together. 1st bills on you!!!! Thanks Staff! #StudentsOfLife #NeverStopLearning #KindnessEqualsStrength #SpreadTheLove #RealRecognizesReal ✌❤🌎
Came here with a group for the first time and, unfortunately, can not recommend this establishment to anyone - particularly groups of women. As mentioned several times in reviews, the prices are quite high, which may be helpful to know before going in. While the experiences we both witnessed and were subjected are not acceptable at any price, it is particularly egregious to be expected to pay a premium for the poor treatment received. The live band was energetic, sounded great, and kept the crowd engaged and having a great time. Our waitress was attentive and kind. In fact, she should not have be placed in the position she was to defend the patrons she was serving and having positive interactions with against the security team who made uninformed, snap judgments. At a venue like this that is very heavily marketed as a party destination, security is paramount. However, the rules and enforcement of them seem to lack any rhyme or reason. The only common thread seemed to be that they do not apply to the males - in particular not ones who are beyond inebriated and engaging in predatory and physically unsafe behaviors. These were witnessed time and time again through our evening, not just by our group, but by other groups of women we met as well. And they were all done within the purview of secuirty. When our group was targeted, management was responsive and understanding when they spoke with us and they were just as in disagreement with the way their security was assessing and handling their patrons. However, it is hard to understand why there is such a disconnect between the club’s managers and their own security staff.Once again, there are many great things this venue has going for it and some truly wonderful staff, but until they address their security personnel issues and align on their policies, it will continue to make for an overpriced, disappointing, but most importantly, unsafe experience.
Huge multi-level club with lots of different areas. Big stage downstairs with a live band and a dedicated DJ booth upstairs.
The service is great. lively bar. Halee took very good care of me while I was there. Great for a night out. live music is literally amazing!
From the security team to the bartenders and every staff person, they were all great. The drinks were priced reasonable and the live band was amazing. I had such a great time. Being that it felt like 1,000 degrees, the cool water misters made it so much better.
Hands down my favorite bar/club. This is the only bar where they have great live music (the bands can actually sing). The upstairs club plays music that is way better than the other clubs which play the same stuff every night. Love the bartenders and rest who work there. Oh- the outside patio is cool too.Catch the band names The Pickup Lines there, they’re the best.
Very lame, overpriced drinks, and they kicked out my friend for no reason. Wouldnt let me bring water out of the bar either! Security called us racial slurs!
The bartenders were quick and the drinks were good. We got there early so it wasnt packed, but it looks like it would be and an even better time
Very cool bar, it was funny on New Years Eve. Because the band plays all these songs from the 90s. And unlike I guess , there has been no good music but out in the past twenty years
I ended up here for a wine tasting event that my friend got free tickets to. Apparently said tickets were going for $50 a pop, which I would not have paid. You could probably pick most of the wine up at Frys (Cupcake, etc.) so Im guessing this is their way of packing the place full on a Saturday afternoon. The reason why Im giving it two stars is because of the ambiance/location. Its a nice, spacious place with lots of TVs and a large outdoor area. Unfortunately the food and service leave a lot to be desired.Food: So there was a set menu of about 5 items that were available and displayed on their TVs, once of which was a meat & cheese board. They ran out of the board within about an hour of the event starting. HUH?? How do you run out of meat & cheese boards at a WINE TASTING EVENT? And they couldnt take it off the menu/TVs either so almost everyone was asking for it the whole event. We opted for chicken & pineapple skewers and some sort of bun-less mushroom stacker/burger. The skewers were an abomination. They looked like something a 19 year old would prepare after purchasing a grill for their first apartment. The chicken was LITERALLY paste. You could spread it with a knife. It was the weirdest thing and we saw other people not eating it as well. It was so chalky and bland, we couldnt eat it!! The mushroom thing was just okay but I definitely would not have paid $10 for it again. We confirmed with the waitress that Wasted Grain was providing the food for the event and not some random vendor (you had to go outside to order and pick up your food.).Service: While there were water pitchers available on the bar, the waitresses seemed incredibly annoyed if you asked them for water. A lot of people were crowding the bar so it was hard to get to most of the pitchers - sorry to inconvenience you!! Wasted Grain staff were also manning the wine stations. For the most part it seemed like they only knew the name and location of the wine with a little bit of tasting information but that was about it. I listened to people try to talk to them about the wine and they didnt seem to interested.Id never been to this Wasted Grain before but based on the fact that the Tempe location closed down and my experience at this event, I wont be returning.
My visit was unfortunately extremely mixed. The live music was fantastic, the wait staff were personable and attentive, no complaints about the couple of drinks I had, however I would not recommend coming here, especially for women.I witnessed several different situations of security staff harassing and/or kicking out women while allowing some pretty egregious behavior from men in the same vicinity.I did hear from a fellow patron that they were told theyve had high turnover in security, and while I can understand that struggle, Im not sure how its relevant. Judging from the reviews, the vastly different experiences by men and women doesnt seem to be a one-off either.
Nice little venue! Its a 3 part split place. The entrance is a modern/minimalist bar with a stage, lounge couches, and a nice vibe to it. The outdoor patio is beautiful, great layout and misters are perfect. The upstairs is a nightclub lounge with a more sexy and rave vibe to it. Great bass bumping and the drinks were perfect. They serve food too. Got the chicken parm with Mac n cheese and a side of shrimp (yeah, Im that extra haha)
Bouncers manhandled me out when waiting for my friend and sisters to return from the bathroom. I was stunned and didn’t react to his hands on body—which was totally inappropriate.I think I was older(39, 40 this weekend) than the demographic they wanted. I would have left if they just asked politely without the dramatic exit. I was not drunk. I was waiting for my group to pay so we could leave. It was a terrible start to my girls weekend. I highly recommend you avoid this place. Also their bouncers should work out their lower body. If I wasn’t too shocked by their ridiculousness I could have taken them out in a heart beat.
Don’t spend your money here. Paid over $800 for bottle service and promptly got kicked out for no reason. They said we were too drunk, however I dont drink, and as one of two sober memebers of the group, I can attest that no one was too drunk. When our server heard our friend was kicked out she told us that security had been targeting us, that they had talked about us since we first got there, and that they do this all the time.Bar also illegally holds IDs as collateral for tabs, and when they kicked our friend out they would not allow her to close the tab or get her ID. If we didnt have a couple of people separated over at a table, we would not have been able to retrieve those items. They also didnt give us time to wait for our friend that was in the bathroom and she had no clue where everyone went and didnt have her phone on her. I dont know how we would have reconnected if the people at the table closing the tab hadnt passed her by chance. It was a mess. Our server was great. Management and security are awful.
The venue is rustic with great open air spaces and comfy benches and books. We went for a whiskey festival and although we didn’t get quite the value for our ticket costs we did end up with a very considerate barkeep who gave us one last cocktail on the house to offset our disappointment. We didn’t get to eat there but their BBQ pit looked awesome and the prices were very good, about $12 for some juicy specialty burgers and chips. Would go back for a bevy & nite.
This place is awesome. Great place to see live music and security keeps it check to everyone is able to see the show.
DO NOT GO HERE. They did not allow a member of our party into the bar because of his race. They said they were afraid he was going to start problems and they made other racist comments toward him. Do not give this bar your business.
Had the best experience here for my birthday! Barret turned on all the TVs to the game we were watching and brought out champagne for me and my friends to celebrate!
A great 49ers and Michigan bar, request Nikki she was amazing and super friendly we got the best bottle service!
This place is good as a sports venue, if youre just going to watch sports on TV with friends. The food and service were absolutely terrible. The drinks were priced extremely high, and werent very good. The food came out cold and was salty to the point of being disgusting. We couldnt even eat the food it was so bad - so it just went to waste. The waitress was nice at first, but was not attentive in any way to our group of over 10 people. We had to wait a long time for everything we ordered, and she kept forgetting to bring what we asked for. Shed come out without items that wed requested, then wed have to wait another long stent for her to return with our stuff. She then tried to add a built in 20% tip after offering very poor service to us the entire time. I guess she figured why bother giving good service if shed get the same tip no matter what? It is ridiculous that theyd try to enforce a tip for awful service. Tips are for meant to be give in appreciation for great service! I will never go here again.
Paid for bottle service and promptly got kicked out for no reason. Don’t spend your money here. Not worth it. Paid over $800 and security talked about us being “too drunk” (while we were entirely coherent) to kick us out as that’s something they do commonly per our server. Our server was great. Management and security are awful. Bar also illegally holds IDs as collateral for tabs.
Great live music. Especially if you enjoy early 2000s! Always a Funtime.
The Pickup Lines on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays!!! Such a fun cover band!
Came here with a Bachelorette party. The band was amazing and our waitress was phenomenal.Ladies, dont come here if you want to have a good time, though. If you blink too long the security staff will kick you out for sleeping (even if youre completely awake and coherent) and they will also send the whole team if you stumble in your heels that youve been dancing in all night and tell you youre too drunk to walk and you need water, while simultaneously removing the water you were drinking from your hand. The same security team will turn an eye to unwanted advances as drunk dudes try and grope you, among other discrepancies in treatment our group observed.Theyll take your $1000 for the table, but have no interest in actually keeping you safe and will absolutely escort you out for no reason. You may think, Oh this is just a drunk person complaining, but there were multiple sober people in our party.
Great table service! Good atmosphere and live music.
Incredible awesome club for killer drinks and live music!
This place is great for live music! We always have a blast when we visit. Crowded, loud, great music. Super fun with a group!
Best place to go out in Old Town Scottsdale. With live music downstairs and a nightclub upstairs, you get the best of both in one venue! Drink are amazing and cheaper than any club on the block.
Music was kool. Bartender was trash. 7/14/24
Loved it!! Great vibes! Tasty tasty yum food and drinks!!Danced and jammed out to The OutliersMultiple floors and dance spaces with people enjoying their night everywhere!
Great Venue, Great management/owner. Visited yesterday and after being spontaneously greeted by what I later learned was the owner, Happened to ask if they would show the rugby world cup, and he promptly organised to do so... Rare to see service of this calibre these days!Had some of the food, and must say that didnt dissapoint either! Also at decent prices. Highly recommended!
This is one of, if not my favorite bar in old town Scottsdale. It’s more laid back and not as loud as most of the other bars in old town. Plus they usually have a live band on the weekends that play good songs from the 90s and 00s. It’s always busy but not so crowded where you can’t even walk around. Would recommend if you want to good bar to go to hang out at without doing the typical old town club type place.
My brother had bottle service for his birthday which included a private seating area. The server kept our area clean and was attentive. $525 charge for this which is not unreasonable i suppose. We had around 15 people show up throughout the night. Brother enjoyed his bottle service to the fullest and was completely WASTED! When the night was over and we close out the bill there was a problem with Chase Bank system and his card was declined. I had them run my CC and notice a $96.00 automatic gratuity (standard practi for large parties and private events). Asking my drunk brother if he knew about this he said, shoot ! I just gave her $200 cash.Did she tell or remind this completely wasted customer that he was already on the hook for autogratuity of $96.00??? NO!!So lets recap-15 staggered guests in 4hrs,adequate serviceTOTAL CHEQUE: $621$525 bottle service+ $96 automatic gratuity+$200 cash gratuity$296 TIP???? = 56% tip wow!! Anyone else see a problem with that?Well played!!! Completely took advantage of his intoxication. Would be nice to get an apology from management at least, for allowing servers to do this to patrons
Great experience! Amazing drinks, music and people.
Our server was amazing, but security and management were extremely rude and harassed our party the entire night for being “too drunk” while ignoring the clearly wasted party next to us and the man that continued to grope the bride in our party in the dancing area. Girls: don’t bring your bachelorette party here, because it’s not worth the admittedly amazing band that was here.
I had a great time! Lila, my server was exceptional and had a great personality. Definitely worth the visit and ask for Lila.
Whoo! band was awesome, crowd even more awesome. fast, efficient service at the bar too! Ill be back next time Im in AZ!Saturday night! Im on my way!!Thanks to security for keeping us all safe!
Cool spot but could have better security, nasty attitudes for no reason. After speaking with the Head of Security Adam, I see why they act like that. He don’t for POC in their establishment to be honest but don’t let deter from going had a pleasure of speaking with a guy Whyatt, made us feel welcomed. I think he’s the bar manager. Great dude!
Came from San Francisco with friends on a golf trip and caught Niners playoff game. We wish this bar was in San Francisco ! It is a better niner bar than any niner bar in the bay.5 stars. Bang bang.
Wasted grain( the upstairs)! Totally remodeled. huge dance floor. nice design with dancing poles and dancing girls.(vava voom & oh la la) elevated areas for dancing. Most technically advanced (evolved) light show. lasers its bitchin man. music sounds like the mint or pretty please . Excellent sound system .The entire building vibrates and half the block around it.Upstairs is boasting a cutting edge unisex bathroom.Downstairs has its own music and an outside patio. There are also separate men and womens bathrooms downstairs. This place rocks. And the staff seems to be very accommodating. Its definitely a party place . private location nestled in the Southeast corner of Scottsdale and CamelbackUse your GPS unless youre familiar with that neighborhood. All the beautiful people are there hahaha.Upstairs remember you come upstairs thats where the party is elevated to another level
My first time going for a friends bday to see a tribute band. I loved the atmosphere and our waitress was great. I didnt like how it turned into a nightclub so quickly and the drink prices were expensive
I loved it here! I had a great time, DJ was great, live bands where great! I didn’t order anything special, so I can’t recommend anything food or drink wise. If you love music this is a great place. It does have outdoor patio and indoor seating.
Had a lot of fun at the drag show but it seemed like they tried to cram too many shows together in one night. This was my first time here so Im not sure if this is typical but the burlesque show before the drag show, and Chippendale show following it, all seemed to be scheduled right on top of each other. Also, we paid for the VIP seats with 3 course meal. If youre unaware (as we were) the VIP seat just means you get to sit in a chair as opposed to stand, but if the VIP seats dont fill up the general admission gets to sit as well. I never saw a waitress and no one ever asked us for our orders for the 3 course meal, and we were ushered out for the next show after about an hour. The show was great but the venue itself is a big no for me in the future.
Nice place. The staff was great, and one of the managers was also serving whiskey samples. So lots of knowledge about the place and the event. Very comfortable environment indoors and out. Apparently theres an upstairs dance club that we did not stay for. But some of the people who had been to this place many times did not know it was there either. We went for a whiskey tasting event and and it was fantastic. Well managed, well run, security in place. And there was a great diversity in the participants. We had wonderful conversations with a lot of people, and a very small percentage of bad interactions. Im gonna keep an eye out for more activities at this venue. If you go here, please tip Delaney extra. It occurred to me this morning that I didnt tip her at all before I left. And she was fantastic.
Bartenders had very inconsistent pours. Same vodka same drink it should look the same. When confronted I was told that our drinks were different because one had Sprite and soda water vs one has soda water. They were suppose to both be presses but even at that soda water and Sprite are still clear....other then that its was a good spot just dont like getting shorted.
Wasted Grain is my friends and I’s favorite place, no matter the occasion! Girls night, watching football, celebrating birthdays, every time has always been nothing but fun and we have always felt safe which is so important!!! 10/10 experience!
Personally love this bar. Always seem to have a wonderful experience here. Live music all the time that works for every music genere OR a very cool night club without the craziness of being over packed. Been here for larger events and always a great time. Lastly, met the owner because someone lost their phone. Luckily he found it and the owner personally made sure we got it back even after closing hours. For sure recommend this place!
Always a great time here! Bar staff is always responsive and the music gets you going!
The vibe was good, the band was good (but too loud), the crowd was good (not very diverse), and the drinks were extremely overpriced. We ordered a lemon drop and a Margarita. The lemon drop was 14 dollars, and the Margarita was 17 dollars. Both drinks were weak and came in very small cups. We only stayed at the venue long enough to finish the drinks and left.
Michigan state alum… it’s a shame I have to write a review at a bar that is supposed to be a “Michigan state bar” it is from from anything that deserves to be recognized as such. The bald bouncer with the beard is beyond prideful and rude. He is degrading to women and made me never want to return. Do not call this place a michigan state bar. It is disrespectful
Great spot to hang out, grab some drinks, and see love music! Had so much fun there that I left without my phone and they were awesome to hold it for me until they opened again. Adam helped me to recover my phone she was super friendly! I highly recommend this place to anyone!
This place is so awesome and full of life and security is HOT.
Always a fun time at Wasted Grain. Great live music venue
Amazing bottle service and great music entertainment.
We really enjoyed our time last night at Wasted Grain. One of the bartenders, Rico, made our experience so much better. He was extremely thoughtful, attentive, and fun! He had such a great spirit and energy! Thanks Rico!!!
The food was great, the atmosphere was great, the band called Bourbon Strut was amazing. But we ordered happy hour food and happy hour well vodka and a margarita. They charged the full price for the vodka soda and charged the $17 per Margarita even though we thought it was on happy hour prices. Moral of the story ask for specifics
Had a great time. Live music. Decent bar food and our server was great. Be aware they add gratuity to the bill. It wasnt issue and probably was less than what we would have left on our own...but I dont recall that being shared written/verbally before we ordered.
The bartenders were very rude to me and my girlfriend I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
Went to the margarita festival here. It really was not a festival it was just a restaurant tasting, all margaritas have the same tequila in them. The entire time our party was there we were never able to sit down. Our plan had been to order food and relax and that wasn’t possible as there were very few seats, and those who had them we’re not giving them up. I normally think at a festival at least for a few minutes you should be able to get off of your feet.
Live entertainment and great staff. This was a great place for both Dancing and hanging out as they have a lot of inside and outside seating. Drink prices were reasonable. We were able to enjoy a night out with a group of 10 and no issues. Great find!
From Texas, and in town for work. My wife came for the weekend and when we went out, she lost her phone for over 3 hours. The security at the bar eventually answered and saved our lives because we have so many family memories on there. If youre in Scottsdale, go to this bar!! Great music, and even better employees
Were usually either in the VIP lounge or on the patio unless theres a great band playing. They often have great live music, theres only been once when the music was bad....but 9 times out of 10, the music is exceptional. This is not as much of a club as other places in Old Time, which is why its appealing for me. Im usually there a few times a month with a large group of friends. Its one of our spots!
This place is great for live music but be very careful with the security. They’ve always been hot headed and will push you around as they walk through the bar. Last night my husband was literally pushed out of the bar for being around a guy that was drunk and spilled his drink. He busted his elbow on the sidewalk and hit his head going unconscious. Luckily a nurse was in line to help him since everyone just watched him lay unconscious on the ground. When I went to go check on my husband I was then tackled to the ground by a security guard. This place is very dangerous due to the heightened aggression of these security guards and they’re ready to get into physical altercations. Take caution going here if you’re slightly intoxicated because you, your friends, or spouse could end up dying because of this. Luckily my husband after getting stitches and a CT scan is ok - could have been a lot worse.
Went there for a Bollywood night. DJ, music, dance, arangement were all good. Giving them a 4 as they lost my credit card at the bar. Pretty decent experience overall. Did not eat anything there, so cant rate their food. Staff was friendly
Such a great vibe to take your significant other for drinks on Friday and Saturday nights can’t recommend this place enough live music is great and upstairs ski lodge is awesome
Same music mix every night and every single weekend. I won’t go out for months and come back and hear the same exact stuff. ALSO the amount of people I know who’ve been ruffied at this bar and the employees don’t care?? Gross
Awesome environment! Had a blast and the band The Pickup lines was amazing! Best cover/bar band Ive seen! Hell of a show!
Fav place to go w/ the girls for a girls night out!! Always have the best time! Live music is great and service is amazing
Kind of dead during Cinco De Drinko. But still a vibe.
Visited Wasted Grain with a group of 6 to see a live band. I do have to say that I loved our private little table and it was great to have a server and a private space to enjoy the music. Our server was very attentive and the food we ordered was pretty good for bar food. This is a great venue to enjoy life music and great cocktails.
Wasted green is finally back since COVID. Been here a few times previously and the weekend scene wasnt happening. However, now ski lodge replacing the bubble room and the live bands they book this place is pretty hopping.
This place was so fun! My sister and I were in AZ on a long weekend and stopped by as it was close to our hotel and had live music. We ended up staying all night for the music and dancing and had such a blast! The bartenders were very friendly as well.
We went for the Seahawks game, fun time with friends , but the food was terrible! It wasnt that busy so I dont understand why everything was cold and under cooked? Service was slow and she would forget what we wanted and then randomly set a beer in front of us we didnt order. I will say the atmosphere was good and we appreciate a bar that has Seahawks events!
Love this place for the live music and upstairs venue but their drink prices are ridiculous. 17 dollars for a tequila soda is a scam and the bartenders aren’t nice!! Same experience every time.
The drink prices are ridic, $16 for well vodka. No Thank you Ill just use my own $16 bottle of sminoff next time.
Had a very poor experience at the Wasted Grain. Very poor service, asked for water and the only option we were given was bottled (which cost nearly $5 and we were not informed of this cost), the food was terrible (comparable to microwaveable pizzas), there was 0 options for our friend with a severe gluten allergy, the restaurant was out of tons of food/drinks we asked for and we were charged 4% for a credit card fee (this seems ridiculous especially considering you rarely see credit card fees anymore and they wouldn’t split the bill for our group). Extremely disappointed in our entire experience at this spot.
Crazy packed but great music until the DJs switched then it got lame..
I dont head out to Scottsdale often for nightlife, but metal head used to be a staple of this place before they broke up. A reunion show tonight was my first reason to go back since their remodel, and I dont see much different, but that isnt a bad thing. Its off the main old Town strip and the staff are efficient and know how to move drinks at speed. As a live music venue it may not be quite ideal, but the acts they book are awesome and bring some awesome energy. Even if you dont get to see metal head you should be able to have a good time here.
My favorite bar for a girls night out! The staff is so kind and provides a fun and safe environment for everyone!
Fun place to watch fights. No cover. The people were helpful amd i was able to get a drink quickly. They have live music and is connected to another dance floor upstairs so you can get your groove on. Its a fun place weekends and weekdays. The food was great. A little pricey for what you get. Good overall value.
Had company event there. Been there many times for same reason. Staff is great, theres lots of drunk games on the patio, the design/layout is nice, kinda seamless indoor/outdoor area. Big, roomy, great food lots of seating. Good drinks according to the people that drink (not me) always cool stuff on the TVs.
A nice place to shake ur leg with drinks. I particularly liked the layout of the place which included large indoor dancing platform, bar in addition to a raised dance platform along with an outdoor bar and seating area making it a complete experience. The staff is friendly and quick. The range of appetisers are good although there are no cocktail drinks but only an extensive range of beer - both canned and draft beer, tequila, vodka, etc. So and so, an overall fun experience!
*Bartender extremely rude and caused an embarrassing scene*This rating is specifically for the female (and only) bartender who was working 12.4.22 between the hours of 10:15p-12a. She had a nasty attitude from the start of our first interaction. I have no idea why. I treat everyone with respect & kindness. I ordered an old fashion and specified that I wanted it made with Bulliet Rye. She followed up by asking me if I wanted “Bulliet bourbon or whiskey.” A bit confused by her question, I reiterated that I wanted it made with Bulliet Rye whiskey. I see her grab the regular Bulliet(orange label) from the shelf to make my drink. I informed her that was the incorrect spirit and she became even more rude. I didn’t request that she remake it, I just drank it. It was very horrible…too much simple syrup & ice. I ordered just a Bulliet Rye neat for my second drink and instead she brought me another old fashion. I informed her that I’d ordered the bourbon neat and she started arguing with me. She was trying to tell me that I ordered “another one.” She was arguing with me and so rude that it became awkward. The man sitting next me said, “I heard you say Bulliet Rye neat several times.” The bartender snatched the old fashion off the counter and poured the regular Bulliet (orange label). I pointed to the Bulliet Rye (green label) and explained to her that’s what I’d been ordering. I also explained that if someone orders rye, it has the green label. She continued arguing with me that “one of the Bulliets is whiskey and one is bourbon.” Her attitude was extremely nasty and the entire interaction was embarrassing. So, I didn’t even bother explaining to her that all bourbon is whiskey & the differentiator, nor was it my responsibility to educate her. I was just appalled at how she argued with me and made what should have been a enjoyable Sunday evening a negative & embarrassing experience. Thankfully the band superb & was the only reason that I stayed. Wasted Grain, apparently your bartender can benefit from some very basic training on how to treat customers with respect & professionalism. And basic training on spirits is also apparently needed.
Nice place to listen to some live music also had a great time dancing upstairs where the dj played great music to get you moving. The staff was friendly and efficient, plenty of beer choices on tap. The Buffalo chicken egg rolls were very tasty (spicy) and I really enjoyed the Buffalo chicken flat bread. The only thing I didnt like was the cigarette smoke, but what do you do at an outside bar..
Great place to catch a game as there are a ton of TVs. Staff was friendly, nothing over the top, but ok. Our biggest issue is pricing of drinks. Im ok paying $10 for a drink, but at least put a full shot in. Ordered a Jameson on the rocks and it was about a third full. On top of that, they charge $1 for ice.... Thats just plain silly.
Came here for the game on Sunday. No seats available inside so my friend and I went to the back patio. We were not helped at all. The man who took our cards came up to another group and asked if they were waiting for a server. Still we were not helped. We saw a waitress bringing drinks to the tables and still were not helped. There are plates and menus at the tables but no one has told us if it is counter service only or not. Told my friend we could go to the bar to get some drinks and food. But I thought again and Id rather not give this place money. Service is everything. We were not helped once.
Its a nice place, but its like any other trendy bar in Scottsdale. Drinks are overpriced and the wait time to get a drink is ridiculously long. Not to mention the bartenders (while working hard and quickly) are hardly pleasant, even with a healthy 20-25% tip. Despite this, it is a nice place, just not a place Ill spend my money at again.
Very Nice, great vibe, loved hearing Vaughn Willis there. Very grown and Sexy! Cant wait to go back. But them steamed shrimp, they need to take them off the menu. Not a good look, Im a seafood conoisoure. A Marylander originally. Those peeled shrimp looked amateur. But Nice Spot, Cant Wait to Go Back!!!
Definently a fun and exciting place. Ive never been, with the exception of the wine festival I recently attended there, but it was a comfortable, nice, and well maintained spot. I enjoyed the different features it had, such as food, plenty of drinks, Tvs with sports playing everywhere, upstairs establishments, along with the indoor/outdoor experience it had. Only downsides were that it was a bit crowded at times and a TV advertising it was the home of the Seattle Seahawks! 👎 otherwise its a great clean place to stop in at.
Love this place! I always have the best time with my friends when I come here. Angie is the best bartender ever and all the staff is so nice!
This is actually quite a cool place. Whenever i have walked past it there seems to be quite a scene going on on the inside. The decor both inside and out is great as well. If you make this place your detonation there are also plenty of other bars all around it that you can check out.
Top notch all the way. Friends band Elvis Before Noon was my 1st concert there. The Stage , house lights & sound were superb. The staff, drinks, patio & club are awesome as well.
If you sit down past 12am they will kick you out. My brother had 2 drinks and apparently thats enough to be ejected.
Love this place, there is a floor and music for everyone. The hip hop bar was the only downside as it took me over 10 minutes to get a drink, but other than that the place is shaaaaaaaamazing. Drinks are good, music is great, and music choice is broad. The people are awesome and the vibe is great.
What a great place to meet with friends. We sat on the patio where there was couches and TVs. The waitress brought drinks promptly and constantly checked on us. There were plenty of TVs to watch the draft and at some point the bar opened the windows to the patio and it brought the outside and inside together. This is a great cozy place that is perfect for the casual Meetup or party nightlife.
The host was incredibly rude when I entered having forgotten my mask in the car. Just a real jerk. The service was incredibly slow, the server admitted they were very understaffed. Limited and pricey menu. We stayed for a drink and left. Would not recommend.
We went to Wasted Grain on Friday night to see the band Voyager. We had a party of 20, and at previous venues that has been a problem. Not here! This place does EVERYTHING right!!We called and Robert was so accommodating getting us a reserved table. When we arrived we found there is ample parking on the street and in a lot two blocks east. The bar itself has a spacious layout with plenty of seating and COLD a/c woohoo! We got outstanding service by Lara, despite having a large group and the place being PACKED. The topper was the food... The Margherita Pizza with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes was to die for and prices are totally reasonable. Even the doormen went out of their way to greet us when we arrived and wish us a good night when we left.Absolutely one of the best nights out weve ever had, wish I could give this place 10 stars, they deserve it!
Bouncers can be extremely rude after happy hour, literally taking your table away WHILE you eat, so stay away from the stage before their show starts to avoid the interruption. Good food, Scottsdale priced drinks, wait staff very slow. A bit wild atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights. Worth it if you like the live bands and are older looking for a drunk chick, because that is who the bouncers let in after hours... ;-)
Fun spot with nice indoor and outdoor spaces. There a few bars to choose from and the bartenders were fast and friendly during our visit. Music was good overall. I would check it out again.
I have to say this bar has some of the best energy in Scottsdale. There is all types of seating to choose from booths, tables, the bar. You can enjoy outdoor seating as well, but the real fun is on the dance floor Infront of the stage. Last time I went there, the band The Pickuplines were performing and having a wonderful time joking with the crowed and just having fun. You could feel the good vibes all around! It was truly a great experience. Dont miss out on visiting the bar during you time in Scottsdale. You wont regret it.
Went here for live music! The band earcandy was amazing ok! It’s a 5$ cover on sundays this is the place to be for the true grown and sexy rnb lovers! Service was fast the beer was fresh and the staff was kind. Overall my friend and I had a blast and we will be back again!
It was great until they wouldnt supply a chair for a disabled person anymore after 9:45pm tonight. Shame on Waisted Grain for not allowing her a chair when she couldnt stand anymore
Honestly went but didnt stay. I guess their website menu is different then what they really have. We went to have dinner but only Bar food. We could have delt with that but there were 6 of us and because there were UFC fights that night for some reason they wouldnt put 2 tables together for us. :(
Overpriced drinks and basic food items; like $8 for handful chocolate dipped strawberries (didn’t buy but can buy those items and make it yourself for equal price but get wayyyy more), chicken strips are like $12 .... oofta .... Minimal drink selection. Though my drink was very good but very heavy on the ice. Which was disappointing and my drink was gone in 4 sips essentially for $12.... Two bars — design doesn’t flow. Loved the live music idea.
BOURBON STRUT was amazing!! The security staff was on it assuring everyones safety as we enjoyed great food, great service, and fun music
Place was packed wall to wall ..... if you like night life , younger crowd , loud music --- this is your place .... good music upstairs and awesome live band
Great venue for live bands! Service is good, food is good too, American Fare, filet mignon sliders were tender and tasty. Sat at the bar, people kept cutting between my date and I to order drinks. I thought it was rude since there was a service station on the other side of us. Have some manners, Scottsdale Party People.
Great indoor/outdoor event/concert venue. Manager was awesome in assiting us as we and 3 friends drove up from Tucson for concert for my birthday weekend. Staff friendly, service was good and the place was packed. Parking is lacking. For us not an issue we walked from our Airbnb.
Nice beer selection and a cool band playing a mix of older and newer songs. Good atmosphere. Average age was a bit old for me (40+) but the place was still nice.
Went for an evening event in the upstairs room. Downstairs, found multiple bars with indoor/outdoor seating and patio smoking. It was crowded with a live band. Ill be back during the day sometime to try the food.
I went there with friends to experience the bon Jovi and it was nice the setting was kind of dark the drink seemed to be strong because my friends all caught a buzz. I really enjoyed it I suggest everyone take the time to schedule time to stand in line to see the bon Jovi.
Ive been to every Seahawk bar/ restaurant in Arizona and Wasted Grain is hands down the best! The food is amazing and priced right, the staff is professional and beautiful as can be, the TVs are perfectly positioned, there is a large covered smoke friendly outdoor area with games and outdoor bar area, tables and plenty of seating, the sound system is just right and they have plenty of parking. This place is a must visit on game day and beyond! It gets packed and wild, similar to being at a hawks game with a perfect seat every time. Speaking of seats, unlike the other hawks bars you can get one every time here due to the massive size of this place. Im a true Seahawks fan and feel like Im at the game when Im here, join me.
We saw Zeppelin IV and they were good live!Great place to listen to a live band! GREAT food & drinks!** The manager, Wyatt, and our VIP section personal gal, Shea, treated us like real VIPs!! Thanks for making my friends birthday celebration special! You guys ROCK! XO
Supposed to be a Spartan bar. My wife and I called ahead to watch Maryland game. Bartender told us to sit in VIP area and 2 bouncers told us we had to go, one even put hands on me! Ive never given a negative review on a restaurant, but this place sucks in a big way! Tim S Rochester, MN
Great place! Great service! Great drinks! 5 STARS!!! Nick treats ya like a VIP and everyone really adds to the atmosphere and experience. Lots of beautiful women! This place rocks!
Food was pretty good and the service was great too. If you like cheese curds, I’d recommend getting them here.
As long as you are over 21, you will have a good time here. They have good food and drinks. There is often a live band that will get you dancing or a club like area in the back that is just dancing later in the evening (around 9ish I think). They have lots of yard games as well.Weve had a few girls night outs in Old Town and we keep coming back to the Wasted Grain. This place is awesome for big groups or bridal parties, plenty of space!See you there!
Favorite place to go in Old Town. I love the live music. The people are always great as well. And great hangout options within the venue
Clean place, great service, unfortunately didnt have an opportunity to try the food. Maybe next time. Interesting band area, its open on the back to the sidewalk which was unique. Saw the band Beach Viper, they were awesome!
This place used to be great. Unfortunately they hired incompetent staff to work for their establishment. After being completely and utterly disrespected tonight I will never set foot at Wasted or Bubbleroom. Never have I felt such disrespect by staff over something that was not my fault and out of my control. It’s too bad to see such good talent and real estate wasted on incompetency.
This place is absolutely ridiculous. Came here during a bachelorette party a few weeks ago. Grabbed a few drinks at the bar outside but it was way too crowded so we were like, hey! it looks like there is an upstairs area. Went upstairs and its an empty night club with a DJ who looks like he is Malibus Most Wanted. We were having a grand ol time dancing away on an empty dance floor, then before we knew it the floor was packed. Definitely I guess the kind of crowd you could expect in Scottsdale. It was weird. Stripper poles that both employees and customers could dance on? Whenever bottle service was ordered girls would get on guys shoulders and hold up lit.. items.. ? A weird combination of old and new music with really bad musical transitions between songs. I mean, dont get me wrong. We had a decent time. Ordered a lot of shots and did not get drunk. And no one had a hangover the next day. I strongly believe they water down their drinks. They also tried to charge us a ridiculous cover and when we said no they just let us in anyway. LOL. Oh Scottsdale. But seriously... dont water down your alcohol. Its just rude and can let people on to believe they can handle more than they can handle in reality.
Went to the wasted grain for a performance and although the wasted grain is a nice location the set up they had for the concert was horrible. .we had VIP tickets but we had to share our sitting space (which was not that big) with 30 other people!!! Needless to say we werent the only ones upset.
Band is great.Servkce is okay. Letting the customer.know that they will lose their seat because of.the need for floor space is incredibly, poorly done. Also, we were charged for drinks that we did not order! This all could be handled soooo much more professionally. Sad.
I went to see my friend Vaughn Willis perform for Sunday Funday. The stage is beautiful, just like he should be showcased. The patio area is so cool. First time there, different than I expectedThe parking sucks, but thats Scottsdales fault. The drink I ordered, I asked for light ice, she put in heavy ice and didnt want to correct it :-/
Fun atmosphere, overpriced drinks (which was expected from the area). Weird mix of college aged and middle aged people, but maybe thats how Scottsdale is. Live band started around 11 on Saturday night and was a lot of fun. They played bar favorites and everyone was singing and dancing along on the dance floor.
I usually only go up to 4 stars with my reviews but this place deserves a special honor. Everything about this place is fantastic. The service here is above any bar let alone restaurants that I have been to in a long time. Even the security there is super polite especially the tall one Nic I think his name was, one of the people in the group before tried to get in while under age and he very politely told them that he cannot let them in. All in all a great experience.
After a couple years of recommendations from friends, we were finally able to make it out to Old Scottsdale to check out this venue. We live in Michigan, so its not right around the corner.Of course we made sure it was a Sunday night so we could see Metal Head. This is a great spot for live music, good drinks, and it was packed on a Sunday night.Highly recommend checking out Metal Head, who seems to perform regularly on Sunday nights, great show, lots of fun. Lead singer has an unbelievable voice.
I had never been to Wasted Grain before a couple weeks ago and I have to say Im impressed. All of the staff were great, even during the busy Friday night, and were able to add to my first experience. Nick Faas was especially helpful with drink suggestions and told me more about the history and weekly themes of the bar. Definitely making WG a priority next time Im out in Old Town
Love the remodel they have done for this place. Huge improvement! Bobby runs this place with heart he really cares what the patrons want in service and food. Plus its a great place to watch the games.
Versatile place of inside and outside bars, TVs throughout, regular bands that play, separate upstairs lounge (Bubble Room). The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Great service at the bar and friendly security.
Im done with this place. Its so far removed from what Martini Ranch was. The rarely have Rock Lobster play anymore, they water down the drinks now, you have to wait and beg for a bartenders attention. The upstairs room used to be PACKED, now its just sad, the few people there arent even dancing. The new owners tried so hard to pretty up the place, but now that its all frou-frou, it isnt fun. Just sad.
Very courteous staff, front counter kept an eye on my luggage from the airport. The place looks like a million bucks with the lights, the sound and the layout between indoors and outdoors. I would definitely recommend this place.
Was treated like trash by most staff and eyed by security the entire night so badly that I couldnt enjoy the show. We were dancing and having fun (Not being rowdy), not really sure why that gave them the right to treat us that way. Idk if its because I looked younger than most of the people around us, but it really did bring me down and ruin my experience. I wont be back.
The crowd was lame the food I got was hard and tasteless wings were not seasoned, they did not tasted like anything close to chicken. I exchanged them for tenders and they were hard. The staff was nice and the Band Ear Candy did an amazing job. I will go back for the band ,NOT the crowd or food.
Very nice establishment with two different venues in one. Not a fan of the way they treat people. I was physically assaulted by a known woman thief while we were there. I did not retaliate, as hard as it was to show restraint. I was then accused of being the aggressor. Even when two others explained that I was the one who was hit. I then said, so had I hit her, you would have had security kick me out and call the cops but she gets to stay??Well yes, and you didnt show me any proof, do you have proof? Two people just told you what happened!! Oh so I need to show you proof that she hit me?? ....... Fast forward....After my group left due to the condescending treatment from staff, I was informed that they viewed the video to see I was indeed correct. I will not be going back there again. Insult me once shame on you....Hawk Rising
Great club with multiple venues within the club to hang out. The only downside was the bar area in the hip hop lounge at the top. It took about 15 minutes to get drinks from the bar.
We stopped at @wastedgrainscottsdale to have some chicken tacos & some sliders ! they were both so appetizing , We wish we could have ate more! They have plenty of more options for you to pick from. This gem is picture perfect 👌🏼 it’s just right for drinks & food !🔥🙌🏼
I really love this place, its nice to be able to have many different large spaces to chill, collaborate, and have a good time in. The games, bands, dance floor, and multiple levels of space gives everyone something to love. My only suggestion is to have more gluten-free options on your menu everything else rocks.
Truly enjoyed our experience. High activity sports and whiskey bar. Interesting food options, diverse cocktails, a reasonable overage of beer selections. Definitely going back!
Great place for private events!
Wednesday night reggae band Kush County playing some mediocre tunes. A for effort at least. The place is nice. The bartenders are meh.Sat at the somewhat empty bar for almost 15 minutes before I had to flag down someone to get a beer. The bands second set was wayyyy better than their initial performance! Actually surprised they came out with some really reggae fire after seeing their first set. I may actually come back for more next Wednesday.
Cool place to hang out and have some drinks. Had a good vibe and neat outdoor party area. Drinks arent cheap but most Scottsdale bars are expensive
The music and the company of my friends made this pleasant. The overpriced drinks and fluffy billing arent too cool. Dont open a tab unless you want to be ripped off. They actually taxed the tip, which they automagically added to the bill. What a joke. Welcome to Scottsdale.
Since the renovation Wasted Grain is no longer a live music venue. No more live entertainment such as...No Rock Lobster (80s cover band), No Smashed (90s cover band) , No Metalhead (80s rock n roll), NO more FUN. Owner, I understand your a restaurant but bring back the bands that have been there for years. There is a great following. Rock Lobster has been here since Martini Ranch and they pack you bar on every Saturday they play. BRING back OUR BANDS WE LOVE!!!!!!!
Way expensive. One drink $18. Plus 22% gratuity. One water $5.00. not too impressed with physics of dancers
This is my to go place! My best friend and I came here and it was so good! The drinks were amazing! The staff were kind and fast! I highly recommend!!!!
