My massage therapist was Michael. He did an amazing job! His technique and pressure were perfect. I had surgery a week ago, and I was feeling extremely sore. After the lymphatic massage, I felt so much better. I went to other places before I found this place and didnt get the same results. This place is absolutely amazing! 10 out of 10 would recommend. Plus their prices are great!

Best massage I’ve ever had! Nydra is beyond amazing. Receptionist was also wonderful, excellent customer service. Was in town for a girls weekend getaway and they fit us in. My girlfriend received a prenatal massage from Michael and said her massage was absolutely amazing. We both agreed that we would plan another girls trip to Virginia Beach just to return to Allora for massages.

Michael was awesome! I left feeling entirely relaxed and calm. Everyone working there were so sweet and kind as well. I can’t wait to go back.

HANDS DOWN (literally) THE BEST massage I have ever received! I vacation here in Sandbridge and look forward to visiting this place all year! I had the pleasure of working with Ashley yesterday for a 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was 100% THE MOST RELAXING 90 minutes of my entire life! I normally do not sleep well while on vacation but last night I slept like a rock! I work in the industry and have had many massages and other body treatments and I can say with confidence/knowledge and experience that this place is number one! I am so happy it exists but am always so bummed that I can only visit once a year! If you are in the area I highly recommend trying this place out. So far I have been treated by Ashley and Doris and I sing their praises all the way from Sandbridge to Philadelphia and BACK!

Oh My Cheese and Crackers! From the welcoming atmosphere to the friendly team, you can feel truly totally relaxed here. Doris worked magic on my back and hips! She has such passion for what she does and it shines through from the moment you walk in the door. My one and only complaint is that I live too far away to come in as often as I want to!

First time getting a massage here. I just ran a marathon and needed a good massage to help relax my muscles and feet. Ashley was absolutely amazing!! I feel like she knew exactly what I needed and was very professional and informative. Already booked another one in 2 weeks. I went yesterday and feel amazing today. I also had the puppy love foot massage too and highly recommend that as well. Hands down one of the best massage places in Hampton Roads. I also want to say the staff and receptionist are super sweet and professional. Highly recommend.

Im a former nurse who hurt my back at work a few years ago and unfortunately those back issues have stayed with me. A few days after moving to Virginia my back went into such a bad spasm that I couldnt even stand fully upright. I found Allora because they were one of the only places I could make a last-minute appointment online. I walked into my appointment with Michael looking like Quasimodo and left fully upright and nearly pain free. They have fixed me on multiple occasions at this point. I have seen every single therapist and can say I have had an excellent experience with all of them. I live in Norfolk and there is a reason I drive 45 minutes to Allora every few weeks: because theyre the best massage location Ive been to in my life.

My girlfriend and I got a couples massage here. Nydra did mine and I believe Ashley did my girlfriends. They were incredibly professional and still very personable. They both made us feel so comfortable and the massages were A1! Too bad we are just visiting for a week or we would be going there regularly. Highly Recommend!

Ive seen Lynn twice when we were in town for vacation. Shes one of the best massage therapists Ive seen. I wish we lived here so I could see her more often! Allora Bodyworks is top-notch. My husband has had a massage there, too, with another therapist and he said she was amazing. Well be back every time were in town!

I had such a fantastic experience here. From check in to my massage! Lynn is the best massage therapist Ive ever encountered. My muscles are like a brick wall and she managed them gently, yet firmly! I would make that 4 hour drive to get a regular massage from her! It was so amazing!!

Nydra was amazing. Typically a first massage with someone good is just so so as they have to learn your body and ailments. Well, she was excellent for the entire 90 minutes, balancing the deeper stuff that can hurt with the more soothing massage.The environment was great, as was the awesome young lady at the front desk. Just a great business. I will be back!

Doris was very accommodating. I drove into town from NJ and was only here for two days. She graciously opened an appointment for me and relieved all the knots in my back. I get a massage monthly back in New Jersey and was very impressed with her massage knowledge and skills. I highly recommend Allora Bodyworks. I will definitely return anytime I’m in the area.

My mother and sisters in law visited Allora on our recent vacation to Virginia Beach. The massage therapists sought out our individual problem areas and paid special care to those. All four of us were feeling relaxed and refreshed after our massages. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff is overall incredibly friendly and professional. I highly recommend stopping in for a massage during your beach vacation!

Doris was amazing - I am still in a sling from rotator cuff surgery - she worked on the knots in my shoulder from being in a sling, worked on the scars to help break up scar tissue and worked on the tightness in my neck. Felt amazing during the massage and when I left there. Will definitely go back when we are in Sandbridge again. Both she and her staff were great to work with and so knowledgeable.Thank you so much

If you are looking for an excellent quality massage that is not only relaxing but gets the knots out this is the place to go. Everything about my massage was perfect. The staff was friendly and professional. It was neat, tidy, and clean. I have high expectations and Doris and Ashley both exceeded them! Will definitely refer my friends.

Our first couples massage was at Allora Bodyworks, and the experience was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the therapist knew exactly how to help my tension issues in my neck and hips. My fiancé’ had her first massage here and was a bit unsure at first, but Doris did an excellent job making her feel comfortable and working out tension issues on her too. We will be returning frequently for more massage therapy at Allora.

Every year my wife gets me a massage for my birthday and it’s always at a different place with a different therapist. She scheduled an appointment with Allora today. Never heard of it, which made me skeptical. But, holy shhhhhhhhhh… I spent the last hour with Nydra and she was absolutely incredible. I’ve never been able to say to my wife “it was the best massage I’ve ever had.” But I can say it now. Nydra has a permanent client as long as she’s practicing. I feel like Gumby. Thank you Nydra!

TL;DR - Top notch deep tissue therapeutic massage, which was likely underpriced.Im sure Ive mentioned it in a previous massage studio review, but Ill say it again here; having co-owned a studio in DC for a few years Im fairly careful when selecting a studio, and have strong opinions about what makes for a good session. Anyway, on to the actual reviews:During my session with Doris she was clearly communicating directly with my muscles to provide a tailored experience. She asked just enough questions prior to starting, and during the first minute, to ensure we were on the same page about balancing depth (pressure), temporary discomfort (pain), and therapeutic effect (rejuvenation).After wrapping things up she provided a short debrief about what shed encountered and her thoughts on ongoing improvement/maintenance.My wife also got a prenatal massage. Based on her feedback it was very satisfactory. While they didnt have a pregnancy table (extremely uncommon, IMO) I would have expected to see more support pillows on hand, if not offered. This minor observation certainly isnt enough to dock a full star, considering they seemed to staff at least 1 therapist trained in this specialty for the majority of their open hours.

My husband and I have been here a few times and always receive excellent massages! Doris and her team are very professional and cater to their clients needs! Scheduling has always been a breeze as well, they were able to fit us in even when I called at the last minute. Top notch customer service, and always very friendly!

I’ve been coming here over a year and absolutely love them! They simply are the best! They are professional and courteous and you receive such a great massage. For 8 months, I have regularly seen my favorite massage therapist JJ (5/5 stars). I was so pleased that I booked my parents for massages as a Christmas present, but now JJ is gone, so I don’t think I will return. Allora called me with only a week notice asking if I would switch the appointments to another therapist whom I’ve never met. This is obviously not the therapist I have talked up to my parents. There seems to be a lot of turnover and I’d prefer to see the same person regularly.

When you step in the door you immediately feel calm. The refreshing scent immerses you into relaxation mode. The owner, Doris, gave me a strong deep tissue massage. She was timely, courteous, cheery & professional. She even gave me pointers on stretches I can do at home to release the tension in my lower-back and shoulders. Plus, the beautiful atmosphere coupled with reasonable prices make me want to go back again & again. I would recommend this to anyone as a gift to themself or as a gift for someone special.

I’ve been a long term returning client of Doris, and I was excited to hear she finally opened her own spa! A few years ago I hurt my back. I was literally hunched over for a year due to the pain, and every doctor I saw told me that I might have to get surgery on my back to fix the issue. Doris heard about my condition and recommended that I come in for a couple of sessions, and that it could just be piriformis syndrome. Which can be treated through having a massage. After the first session I was finally able to stand up straight, and after the second the pain was gone. Now I see Doris every few weeks just to keep my body loose! Doris is very knowledgeable and very professional. I recommend her to all my friends and family, and I recommend that whoever is reading this review to do the same!

I have some medical issues that constantly cause me intense pain. Pinched nerves, soreness. Ive been to more chiropractors and massage therapists than I can count, but hand down these gals are top notch. I had Doris at one point, and Ashley with a my significant other getting J.J. And all three are absolutely amazing. The feeling that they actually care is great, but the service speaks for itself. I will be back, again... And again.

Scheduled with Allora Bodyworks as I was unable to get in with my regular therapist at one of the big chain establishments where Ive had a membership for nearly 10 years. This was by far one of the best massages I ever had, combining stretching with deep/firm pressure to relieve stiff muscles in my neck, shoulders, lower back, legs, etc. The perfect combination! As well, the atmosphere is warm and quiet, and the staff is awesome. May be canceling my long term membership with the other place and become a regular client with Allora Bodyworks!

Doris is amazing! I’ve been getting massages for the past 19 years. And as an athlete, personal trainer, and nurse, I have high standards when it comes to those working with the musculoskeletal system. Doris knows the most of anyone I’ve ever worked with and She has been able to alleviate issues that others have been unable to help fix. Highly recommend!!!

Bought 3 one hour swedish massages as a gift for my wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law. They called another staff in so the three good do it simultaneously! I was especially grateful that they could coordinate the whole thing via text so I didnt blow my cover. My wife was very appreciative and my SIL said it was the best massage shed ever had! From the first step into Allora was relaxing. I was greeted immediately. The staff is super friendly and willing to help while I waited for my therapist JJ. She greeted me promptly at my start time and took me back to my room, super clean nice facility. JJ interviewed me and ask me about my trouble points , she actually listened and zoomed in on them for my massage. JJ’s massage was amazing. I had to apologize to her because I fell asleep and I woke myself up with a snore ha ha Ha I highly recommend this place

Doris and her staff are professional, courteous, and great therapists. The facility is clean and top notch. My pain was well addressed by JJ with deep tissue massage therapy. I have had trouble sleeping at night due to muscle pain but last night I had the best sleep Ive had in a long time. I highly recommend this place.

I visited Doris for a prenatal massage and I cant say enough! She was able to drastically improve my sciatica in just one 30 min session, and I couldnt wait to go back to work on other problem areas. 10/10 would recommend!!

I have been around the world twice and have had massages from every corner of the world, but without hesitation or reservation I can say they are rank #2 in the world (personal opinion) on quality of massage alone. This place is truly a hidden gem. The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. They ensure your experience is worth while and truly provide one of the best massages around. Every member of the staff has the training and knowledge required to provide a worthwhile massage and work out any knots/problems you currently deal with. Allora Bodyworks, Dora , & Rebka are the most talented professionals I have ever encountered in my 10 years with autoimmune disorders, extensive connective tissue disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and overall muscular skeletal tightness and KNOT formation. They have an incredible knowledge of the human physiology of what tissue and muscle connects where and how to dismantle KNOT formations and release connective tissue for a pain-free, inflammatory free recovery. Their personalities shine like the sun and they effervesce a joy and healing by just being in their presence.
