4/6/24 Updated Review-This review is based on the false advertisement of walk-ins welcome. This would have been my 2nd time at this establishment, the first time being great. I walked in today at 12:30 pm to an older woman (owner I think) sitting at the reception desk, I let her know that I would like a 1 hour body massage and she asks me if I had an appointment, I replied with “ I do not, last time I just walked in” and she said I need an appointment, they only do appointments. Even though online it states walk-ins welcome (pic attached). The waiting room was empty and I know they have multiple spots in the back as its a communal massage area. not sure if this is new for them but I would suggest you update your online information and be consistent.First Review:Great place for a foot/back massage! Very clean, quiet and relaxing as well as very reasonably priced. The man doing my massage was very professional and did the perfect amount of pressure to work the knots out of my shoulders and neck. I highly recommend going to Tao Feet Spa!

The setting was nice but I wasnt expecting it to be a communal setting. I didnt look at the pictures so thats my fault. When I called I asked to join a couples massage so I was expecting it to be private with my partner and I. That was not the case, we ended up across the room from each other during our massages.The foot massage was very meh. My feet werent massaged very well. The person doing the massage didnt check in with me at all and spoke no English so I couldnt communicate well with them. He focused on one specific area of my foot leaving it feeling like tiny needles were stabbing me.The back massage was awful. It was so painful. I feel bruised days after and my back hurts. The guy used his elbow 85% of the time for my 1 hour massage.I will never return & I definitely wont be recommending.They can be pretty forward about tipping too.

This place checks all the boxes - very affordable, peaceful environment, amazingly skilled practitioners...and the best of all ~ nobody trying to talk to you or get validation...just a master masseuse doing what they do best. Seriously, one of the best healing massage experiences Ive had in a long time.

I called in to make a reservation. Because I am a breastfeeding mother. I would prefer a female masseuse. The front desk was rude told me they are busy and hung up on me…

My friend and I scheduled this place last minute and I really did not know what to expect. They were pretty good with scheduling and had a good amount of staff available. They are very cautious about Covid and require masks at all time.Upon entering into the massage area, it is quiet, the lights are dimmed and there is peaceful spa like music playing. It is a big room with big lounge chairs spaced out and curtains for division.I got the 30 minute foot and 30 minute body massage. I usually am ticklish but the foot massages were not ticklish at all. I also recommend the foot massage over anything. It is the best and most relaxing.They have you rinse your feet in a hot tub of water that they bring to your seat while they massage your shoulders and back.They really focused on all the reflexology stuff on your feet.When they got to my body, we moved to a comfortable massage table in the same room. You dont ever take off your clothes. They put a towel over my body and started massaging my whole body. It was a rough massage. I felt like they really dug into my bones and muscles. In retrospect I should have asked the gentlemen to go a little softer like my friend did but, I just didnt know what to expect.The price was super affordable for the quality of massage.My friends and I are coming back for a birthday celebration. I think this time Im going to do 60 minutes of feet only massage. I believe that is their specialty.

I booked this foot massage at the recommendation of my foot surgeon for scar tissue breakdown and I was amazed that it didn’t hurt at all! The massage therapist was very mindful of my scar and surgery site and my foot/ankle feels so much better. I will definitely go again in conjunction with my PT!

The foot massage was cheap and awesome. I paid 40 for the 1 hour foot massage and ot included 15 shoulder massage. I went with my bestie on a Tuesday and it wasnt busy and we just walked in and didnt have to wait. A very good place to visit and relax. I almost fell asleep

The foot massage was great. But unless you have a yearning to have your back WWEd, I dont recommend the body massage. Both me and the person I went with were afraid wed be broken in half at any second. Every piece of weight in the workers goes into you repeatedly. Every bit of their body weight is rested into parts of you for a prolonged amount of time and I almost feel stupid for not tapping out. It was painful and days later 10x more painful. It was not relaxing it was not loosening, it was agonizing and tears were actually close. I shouldve just walked out but being new to massages, Id hoped the deep pressure and force was something that would in turn loosen me I guess? No it was too much just too much. And Im not sure how any good body massage reviews are on here. Nobody could possibly enjoy that much digging

This was the worst massage I’ve every had. I stayed for the full hour I booked, However, I started to just get up and walk out several times through out the service. The guys hands reeked of cigarette smoke. He had no flow to the massage, jumping from one place to another. I had to tell him a few times “stop I don’t like that.” I felt like this was the first time he’s ever performed this service. When I went to checked out, the girl at the front was very aggressive about tipping, asking me over and over again to much do I want to tip. I would never go back or recommmend this place!

So glad I found this place. They made me feel like a whole new person. Amazing. I lift weights in the gym, and I always struggle to find a masseuse who uses hard enough pressure, also who can find the tight points in my body and actually work them OUT until they’re looser. I have literally never had such a great deep tissue massage and I’ve been to MANY. Thank you Tao Feet Spa. Also I didn’t have appointment and they were able to take me right away. They are awesome.

Update: Ready for this? They offered me $5 and stated they “sincerely hope that you can bring a little happy evaluation for our after-sales service in the public platform”.I decided to treat myself with a little quiet and relaxation. What was shocking is that I paid for my masseuse to take a nap…yes, you read that right. HE FELL ASLEEP rubbing my feet. The one time I left my phone in my purse. I had to summon assistance from the gentleman next to us to wake him up before he fell off his stool. Before he fell asleep, there were times that the atmosphere was relaxing…until the employees would open the door yelling at one another. And the cigarette smell radiating of of this man…disgusting. There is little to no communication, they don’t ask if you have any injuries, or tender spots, they don’t ask about the pressure you prefer, so you better be comfortable speaking up or you will be bruised. (Thankfully I’m tough). The worst part was when I went to pay, the receptionist asked what I wanted to tip, I then told her, “we’ll seeing as how he FELL ASLEEP….” her reply was to laugh and ask me again how much I wanted to tip. I said, “no HE fell asleep, he had to be woken up by another employee”. Her reply was to point to the receipt and say, “tip here, I will talk to him”. Don’t expect great customer service…actually, don’t expect any customer service.

If you want an extremely peaceful and relaxing experience, go here. I’ve been twice now - first combo foot and back massage which was intense (felt like deep tissue-you keep your clothes on for it) and then yesterday a foot massage. Incredible both times and I’m committed to making this place a regular stop!

Came in for an hour foot massage. The masseuse was an older gentlemen who was extremely rough. It felt like a combination of rug burn and being massaged with a hammer. This wasn’t my first or second massage. Courtesy is to ensure your customer is pleased with the massage pressure by asking. He never asked. He was disrupted numerous times by the company phone, other customers walking in and yelling to other staff that were in the back. Additionally, he pulled his own phone out a couple of times and messed with it. The temperature inside was muggy and extremely extremely warm. Even with it being August, it felt slightly better outside that it did inside, especially after they cover you in thick towels. A couple was placed right next to me, rather than spacing us out in the large empty room. The male of the couple snores the ENTIRE massage, ruining mine. Of course no one woke him or even acknowledged it. Being 8 1/2 months pregnant, I wore my mask the entire time until the second portion. The masseuse did not. It was on but tucked below his chin, NOT COVERING HIS MOUTH OR NOSE. He insisted I get an additional back massage where I sat in this chair facing the back, where I could rest my face, but my stomach was not pressing against anything. It was NOT sanitized or wiped off prior to my use. I should of advocated for myself at this point. 3 days later, I tested positive for Covid. It was the only thing I had on my agenda for the weekend and the only place I had contact with anyone so I attribute my exposure to this establishment. Lastly, when I paid, you could tell they were dissatisfied with the tip but after my experience I felt a tip at all was generous. They starred at the receipt, discussing in another language. Extremely rude. Tips are earned based on service, not given for showing up. Extremely disappointed in my experience. I will not be returning and plan to share my experiences with others.

Im afraid to even post about this spot as its such a hidden gem, at least it seems to be as Im able to typically get an appointment fairly easy. The one hour foot massage starts with a shoulder/neck/arm massage while your feet soak for a few minutes. Then they recline you back and just work magic on your feet for the remainder of the time. At the end they even finish the massage off with hot stones.

This can become an addiction! Tao Feet Spa on Virginia Beach Blvd was amazing! Everyone is polite, professional and understands what each client requires. The location is clean and welcoming.I highly recommend adding this to your self-care regimen.

Ive had several massages but this place was the best! Ive never ever had a massage this good!!! Friendly staff, very clean and got 3 of us in together within 2 hours of calling! If Im ever back in Virginia Beach I will have another massage here!!!!

I cant believe I havent reviewed before now. This place is incredible, a huge bargain and a treat. I like to go at night and get the 1 hour foot massage (only $35!) so that I can go home and fall into bed. The foot massage is thorough, and encompasses your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, feet and lower legs! Its amazing, you have to go. There are two locations, I havent been to the great neck one yet but the boulevard one is fantastic and Im betting the great neck one is the same. Stop reading reviews and call and make an appointment right now ♥️

I love this place. I’ve had dozens of massages between the 3 locations, with many massage technicians. All of the massage techs range from ‘very good’ to ‘exceptional’.Visiting TAO is an investment in your body and your well being. I recommend concentrating on relaxing your body during each session.

Stephen was my masseur, and it was truly the best massage Ive ever received. Tao Feet Spa is my favorite location in the area. There is always someone available, Ive been serviced by several employees and had a great experience with all of them. 0 complaints. I will continue to travel from norfolk to Virginia Beach to visit this place.....the best

If you are looking for a relaxing place to get a massage, this is the place. The setting is relaxing and calm. The foot massage and body massage good. I gave it 4 stars because I don’t think my feet was in the water long enough to bring the calm feeling. I think that part was rushed. Overall, really good experience.

I paid for 2 hrs. 1 hr was supposed to be on my forearms and hands. The other hr a body. The language barrier was so bad I couldnt let him know. The pressure was so light.. I was just annoyed. For 2 hrs. 🤦🏽

Nice dim, relaxing atmosphere. Took husband for birthday and we sat on the first two chairs to the left. Downside is that there is no physical barrier between front door and treatment rooms. So I could hear guest arrive for next appointments. Treatment rooms are shared with other guest. Overall a nice place. Another downside I’ve read about tipping... the cashier looked at my tip like it wasn’t enough.... other than that we Had a great time !

Best $35 dollars you will spend. My Fiance and I prefer this location due to proximity and customer service. Their shoppe is clean, well-decorated and relaxing. First 15 (ish) minutes are spent with a head/neck shoulder massage while your feet soak. The remaining time is spent on reflexology. Definitely dont be afraid to stop in. Worth every penny!

Went down to this place without an appointment but the lady was generous to get me in within 20min. The session was like an hour session and I dont when I fell asleep and after it was done. I was super relaxed. Highly recommended for the feet care(massage).

SO WORTH IT! I’ve gone to other places for combo foot reflexology and massage, but Tao beats the rest by a landslide. So relaxing atmosphere, the reflexologists are very calming, and they did a great job. My wife and I could not be happier with our massages. My wife was nursing a twisted ankle and even that feels better!

90 minutes of heaven forgetting all your worries and just being able to relax. So peaceful! Great staff. Great massage to de stress.

I went to the TAO feet spa to get my feet done. The experience I had was terrible. The guy who did my back and feet was way to ruff. My right wrist feels like I sprang it and it’s swollen. As I exited the building I went to pay for my services the receptionist was very rude about the amount of tip that I gave. I would advise anyone thinking about going there not to waste your time and money

Excellent place to relax and de-stress!! The massages are always fabulous, the chaise is comfortable, the lighting and beautiful music make the atmosphere extremely relaxing after a long day! Great for a group, client gift, or individual decompression! Enjoy your massage...its fabulous!!

This is an amazing experience!! They put me to sleep every time. I always have to go with a friend because my motto is: sleeping is optional, snoring is not! Lol

Absolutely the worst massage Ive ever had. My girlfriend and I opted for the full body. Let me start off my saying I get a massage every week from a number of businesses locally. I know when a massage Therepist is less than engaged. I asked for more firm and she continued to barely rub my shoulders in the same area while sitting on the bench. If you have ever had a real massage you will be seriously disappointed. My girlfriend had basically the same experience. Very inconsistent pressure, not methodical, and was pressing his elbow into her spine. I am not one to complain as a business owner myself, so I asked to speak with the owner. I explained to her that my girlfriend and I get massages every single week and we were both very disappointed. I was bringing it to her attention so that she could get her employees more training and help them hone their skills. There was a language barrier and she was not understanding what I was saying. I begrudgingly paid the 110 and she had the audacity to ask me to pay a tip.She offered no resolution and made no effort to earn our business again. I was only trying to explain that her employees need more training. She gave me attitude like i was in the wrong. This is bad customer service in my opinion and I would have come back if given the opportunity. Perhaps they are good for foot rubs as the reviews seem to support that however I would not waist your hard earned money, especially when they are unwilling to accommodate an unhappy customer.

Great massage place for the cost...I’m rating it 4 stars due to 1) language barriers 2) sometimes it has a funny smell and 3) the fact they don’t offer noise reduction headphones as everyone customer is in a open Bay Area while get massage. Although you are fully dressed, It’s hard to relax when other people are snoring.

I love Tao Feet Spa! Its my favorite indulgence. Even though I have had massage memberships, every experience here has resulted in so much relief days after. This is not a pedicure place and its not the same as your nail salon massage. This is very therapeutic and really did promote improved circulation. I wish I could go a few times each week. Please build a location on the Peninsula somewhere. Theres two locations in Virginia Beach, but none elsewhere. Cant wait to go back again!

OMG!THE BEST HOUR I EVER HAD!The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing! I start with 15 minute shoulders back and neck , then they do my feet for 45 minute. Its amazing!!! I wish Id known about TAO years ago（they said that is second store).I will definitely be back!!!

As a reward for good performance the CEO gave us gift certificates to go get a massage. I personally do not like being touched but did not want to seem unappreciative so I agreed to go and take my team. they were so rough during the massage it was almost agony I do not recommend this to anyone that wants a massage that relaxes you and is effective on easing your tension

The foot massage was ok. It was a little too rough even after I asked to go lighter. Lastly the cashier ran people down demanding they tip. Im agree folks should tip but the cashier should not try to demand it.

Very nice enviroment.Clean and relaxing place. However I have noticed as time goes on the massages are not what they used to be. People are not well trained even though they advertise foot reflexology, just a foot rub now. They were much better a few years ago.

I saw this place and was curious how this differered from my much loved pedicure so I went in and asked about it. I was greeted by a kind lady who offered immediate service, so I said to my self, “why not”! My hour began with a Great shoulder and neck message while my feet soaked in a basket of sea salt water. Tha atmosphere was calming, guiet and I didn’t even notice others in nearby beds. I was motioned to remove my soaking feet and turn arounded on the bed and fell asleep as my feet were worked on for another 40 minutes. It was heaven! I can’t wait to go again and hope they sell gift certificates for all my friends.

Heavenly. 60 minutes of relaxation. Whats not to love? Room is conducive to relaxation with dim lights and soft music. You stay fully clothed and youre in a room with everybody else, but everybody is silent and enjoying the reflexology.

I had the 60 min reflexology treatment. I am not sure it was reflexology at its finest, but it was definitely a relaxing service and with the money . Another practitioner came and spoke to my practice during my service which was odd. But overall for 35.00 plus tip worth IT

It’s the absolute best most relaxing experience. I try so hard not to fall asleep because I don’t want to miss a second, but it is a challenge because it is sooo relaxing. Amazing experience from start to finish.

Massage is nice, but I am wondering if they actually change or throw away the plastic bags inserted in the bucket where your feet are soaked. Ive in the Feet Spa five or six times and I noticed my feet have been itching. I bought Tinactin ointment to get rid of the itch, but the medicine doesnt work. Just curious because the problem started after going in the Feet Spa. Can anyone suggest what cures itching feet?
