Massage Envy

I had been a member since 2017 at Massage Envy. And overall there are pretty good masseuse there. The stars I gave are for the great masseuse like Erica, who are just fantastic. But back in May, I had the worst interaction with the manager Zee, who she lacks professionalism, customer service and problem solving skills. I took so long to post this because I was trying to resolve it with the director but after months of false promises she never resolved my membership issue. But back to Zee, I honestly don’t know how she is a manager and I think she may be the problem with this location’s customer care going down. Cause similar to the other recent comments a had 2 back to back couple’s massages appts canceled less than 24 hours before it was scheduled. The last time they called my partner and not me. And when I called seeking assistance on why my appts were canceled back to back and if there was anything they can do. She offered no resolutions other than I can come the next day. I told her that wouldn’t work and instead of looking for other days or trying other locations. She laughed and joked about that being all she can do and how she was the highest in the chain that I could talk to as if she was the owner and CEO. She later canceled my membership without my permission and expired my remaining sessions, which again I had no knowledge of until I reached out to the other VA Beach location. She is terrible for this company and I had never had an issue especially with customer service in all my 7 years until I met her. The absolute worst. She also joked about how Hand and Stone Massage was dusty and that their customer service wasn’t any better cause she use to work there. But I think any place were she isn’t employed is already a better start!

Yesterday was my first time going here. It was not the best massage I received before but it was okay.. I wanted focus on my lower back and my neck. The massage I received was rough, seem like stabbing in the upper back and lower back now my whole body is sore. I wouldnt recommend anyone to this location. Also was being convinced to get an membership that I didnt want to receive, I dont think its worth $130 for a non memeber.

I have been a client of this spa for a number of years. For the last year and a half, I have lived in Smithfield Va, however I travel to Va Beach, so I have have my 90 minute message with Ms. Bernadette. She is the nest message therapist I have ever had. No matter what I tell is hiving me pain, she works on it and when I leave, I am pain free. She is so wonderful. I drive an hour to see her, and will continue to. She has sure been a blessing to me. I had the absolute worst massage by Leanne today. It was a complete waste of time and money. To start, she called me back to the massage room over 10 minutes past my scheduled time. I told her that I had just got back from traveling the night before, so I would like to really just focus on my head, neck, shoulders, and upper back, bet I’ve been having a lot of tension. Once she started the massage, she mostly focused on my lower back and glutes - easily half the time I was actually get the massaged was spent on something that I didn’t request. She spent maybe 10 min total working on odd area of my upper back, like pushing up against my armpit (when I have two very obvious and difficult areas around my shoulder blades) and then maybe 5-10 on my neck in total, but only the frontal/side - not at all where I was having tension.I always prefer firm/deep pressure, but her massage style solely felt like being jabbed in the soft areas, and pressing skin against bone. The entire massage was either uncomfortable or a complete joke. I have never left what is supposed to be a tension reducing massage, more tense and annoyed.Also, I’ve had massage therapists use gloves before which is fine, but they typically ask, but I very distinctly thought I smelled latex (which I’m allergic to) - I did forget to ask about the type of gloves she wore, but with so many people that have latex allergies, you would think someone would check prior.

I booked my appointment with Bryan for a medium pressure massage with the added bio freeze and Bryan did such an amazing job. I was a little skeptical at first because of the reviews from Yelp but I really enjoyed my massage and was so happy my husband gifted me with a gift card. I booked my next appointment and am contemplating the membership now.

I made a same day appointment for a 90 minute massage and everything went super smoothly. The massage with Donna was terrific and she was able to do harder pressure for me. I did upgrade to CBD oil and intensive muscle with a concentration for my upper back. She’s a really great masseuse and I’m leaving here completely relaxed!

The massage therapist asked me what I wanted, and she asked if I wanted deep tissue or what. I said deep, but as she massaged, I advised her to do it harder. She then told me why she doesnt like to do deep tissue, explaining that the muscles are fighting against you and continued to massage softly. I told her that I only wanted back, feet, and hands. She wanted to do neck also, so I said ok. When all said and done, she didnt do my hands, barely did back or feet but added legs, arms, and stretching. I was not happy but didnt say anything.

I had very bad experience, I booked 60 min massage the masseuse started at 12:20 and finished at 1pm so basically 40 min I’m missing 20 other minutes of massage plus she puts gloves in without my permission and I have latex allergy without even asking me, plus the light was too bright and the music was loud, and she was sitting on the stool please , she is supposed to give me a deep tissue massage I was really confused , the wonderful part is I was charged full price for 60 min deep tissue session . I had a horrible experience I don’t recommend this place at all . And she did massage only my back and back legs that’s it with some stretching and never mentioned stretch I needed a full body massage i went there to relax, but I had a very bad experience I paid and left unhappy .

Donna is amazing! I’ve been going to this site and one other site in the area for over a year. I always ask for deep tissue pressure for massages, but at both sites, usually got only medium (at least from my perspective). A few weeks ago, I saw Donna and was so pleasantly surprised and relieved! She gave me a truly deep tissue massage. She did such a great job. I’m definitely going back for another massage with her soon.

6/17/24 Updated review:My husband and I signed our membership cancelation request and my rating has changed to 2 stars. We got screwed out of 2 of 3 massages due to the staff. When I called to schedule a 90 min couples massage, they scheduled a 60 min massage for us. I specifically said 90 min because we would drive 2 HOURS for our massage so the 60 min wouldnt be worth it. When I called and told them there was some miscommunication with the front desk, they refused to do anything so we canceled our appt. 2 months later, I get a call asking if we can come earlier due to one of our therapists being out sick. I told them we couldnt because of the drive and then she suggested that 1 of us get our massage and the other one doesnt. Why would you even ask that? Youre better off going to an individually owned massage place.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable however, today I find out that when my husband breaks a bill and tells the people at the front desk to leave that as a tip for our therapists, on top of what we already gave them, we find out that the extra money for the tip does not get to them! I was very surprised and shocked when I heard that! We love going for our couples massages and we dont want to go anywhere or see anyone else because they get the spots that need to get worked out! Its a shame that people would be so dishonest!

My first time having a customized personal massage. Ms. Donna & staff were amazing. The staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I went home energized for the upcoming week.Thank you all.💗

Leann did my massage and it was the best massage Ive ever had, she was so sweet and walked me through the whole process. Ashley was also amazing and friendly she made sure I understood everything and helped me out with an issue I had with my account. I had previously went to another location but this location had a much better atmosphere and by far was the best experience Ive ever had at any massage place.

I asked for 1 hour massage but the person who did the massage finished in 45 min and the massage wasn’t satisfy

The massage was pretty good although the gloves were a little irritating but I get if some people prefer it for safety reasons. But I feel like she rushed a little cause she was running a a little behind so I didn’t get my full 50 minutes.

Meh. Ive had way better massages elsewhere. At least the employees at this location dont reek of cigarette smoke and Korean food like they do at the location at Fair City Mall in Fairfax.I was so happy when I canceled my membership, but they attempted to prevent me from claiming the last several sessions that I had paid for.This chain should change its name to Massage Nasty.

I was trying to book online but the website kept giving me an error. I called to get assistance with booking a massage for my best friends birthday. I spoke with Nicole who was such a breathe of fresh air. She was polite, friendly, and was able to answer all my questions and get me taken care of. Nicole is a the type of person who exemplifies not good but excellent customer service. She went above and beyond to help. I’m so thankful she answered the phone when I called. Nicole if you read this message I hope it puts a smile on your face. Thank you again for providing such a pleasant experience.

Erica was my massage therapist and she is truly amazing. We talked about my back issues and her concerns to help me with those, not just to make me feel relaxed during my massage. I felt so comfortable with her. She talked with me, educated me, comforted & encouraged me, was very kind and compassionate, and gave me great suggestions for things which I can do at home in between my visits with her. I will be back every two weeks! I’m so grateful to have found her and the wonderful Massage Envy at Loehmann‘s Plaza!

I think I’ve reviewed this location before but want to give a great review for Donna. I’ve been at this location for 3 years now and seeing her for months now. She is a fantastic therapist. Skilled at both light and deep pressure. You can tell she’s so knowledgeable of the different muscle groups. I always leave feeling so much less tense and more relaxed. Thanks Donna and the Massage Envy team!

Erica is the best! I always feel like a brand new person after my sessions with her. She is very knowledgeable and very thorough with her work. The only thing I am not happy about is the raising of their price. The receptionist when I went this past Saturday was nice.

The front desk staff were courteous and professional. Iris gave me one of the best and most thorough massages I’ve ever had. I felt like a wet noodle when she was finished. Haha! If I’m ever in VA Beach again, I’m definitely coming back. Great people, great service!

Ed was absolutely incredible! Ed is very caring and thorough making sure that I was comfortable and that the pressure wasnt too hard. Ed is an amazing listener and was able to take care of my major problem areas. Ive been a member since late 2018 and Ed has the best technique Ive ever experienced. After the end of every session with Ed, I feel rejuvenated and like a new person.The staff when I checked in and out were very nice and pleasant, each and every time I go there (which is at least twice a month).The facility itself is always clean, well stocked, welcoming, and calming.

Had my very first massage here. At first I was very nervous because I was trying something new and I wasnt sure if it would work for me. Sabrina did my massage and she was incredibly kind, professional and just overall very sweet the entire time! She made the experience very comfortable and it was like I had gone a thousand times before. It definitely helped my back and shoulders, even the next day is leagues better, even with just one session. I will definitely be going back! Thanks so much!

I have been going to massage envy for quite a while now and I recently had to move and leave my favorite massage therapist in another state. Yesterday I received the absolute best 90 minute massage I have ever received in my life. Ericka is truly the best and I hope she is valued as an employee. She has taught me so much about my body, my muscles etc. Her massages are honestly phenomenal. It’s hard to write this review because there really aren’t enough words to describe how great she is and how that last massage while I am still store what absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for helping me feel better!

Brenda was absolutely amazing! She explained all of the facial steps to me beforehand to make sure I understood the process. Additionally, she was very kind, gentle, detailed, and her neck and shoulder massage was the best! I will definitely be coming back for another facial with Brenda soon.

Front desk staff was lovely, but thats about the only part that was. I originally scheduled with female massage therapists, but they canceled my appointments and called me asking to reschedule. They rescheduled me with two male massage therapists (without telling me they were male) and they didnt seem too competent (couldnt do the job right). I was already annoyed by this when I arrived, but I needed to have work done on my muscles since I was in a lot of pain, so I went with it anyway. I went in to have a 30 minute rapid tension relief session and a 60 minute deep pressure massage (in that order). The guy who did my rapid tension relief session only did it for 15 minutes. I got there early but they did not call me back until about 9:15 a.m.. The session ended at 9:30 a.m., so I was shorted my time (extremely disappointed). Next time I guess I need to use my own timer so I dont get scammed like that. My 60 minute massage was a better experience but I had to ask for him to press harder 3 separate times because he was barely rubbing my muscles. My mother used to be a member with Massage Envy and I have gone to a different location before. I would like to think that this isnt the typical quality of care they give to new customers.

Every visit is rejuvenating. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing.

Marsha is the best therapist Ive ever seen. Shes brilliant at what she does. I refuse to see anyone else after finding Marsha. And not only is she the most scientific, detailed, healing therapist, she also remembers everything about my life when I come in. I love her, she is a truly special person to me. Between her, my psychiatrist, and my chiro- thats my whole medical team. I trust her with my body 100%. She knows what shes doing and I feel safe in her hands!

I visited the one on Virginia Beach Blvd. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and professional. The message started exactly on time and lasted an hour. It was very relaxing. I enjoyed my message very much. My message was a gift but I believe you have to have a membership to go there.

Yess, this is worth repeating....Love love love Erica!!! She is truly skilled at her profession. She listens to the concerns and gives awesome advice and the pain and or tension is usually minimized after her session. I also love the fact that she goes to classes and seminars to advance her skills. Her knowledge is just so amazing to me. I cant say enough about her. I would recommend her highly.

Sabrina focused on pressure points but didn’t really get in there. I told her not to be afraid and that I preferred it firm multiple times. We lost track of time and she was onlyable to touch on my back where I’m having the most issues; in a 90 minute massage. Would recommend having a section in the form where you can write down what exactly you are expecting for that day so the therapist knows exactly what you want and it’s not awkward trying to voice it while they are in the middle of the massage.

Always a great visit! Receptionists are pleasant and welcoming; therapists are very professional and knowledgeable. I used to have a hard time enjoying a massage because of my back pain, and now I look forward to going, thanks to Erica!

Brenda is wonderful. She has been doing my facials since day one and I have no complaints about her. She always makes me feel comfortable and she is very pleasant.

The staff was very thoughtful, they made my visit very pleasurable. Alex gave me my massage, and he definitely put me to sleep. Sabrina did my stretch, she listened to me and made sure I wasnt in any pain. I want everyone to understand that this place is top notch, from top to bottom. And I definitely will continue to go there, with all my family and friends for a long time. Continue with the great service everyone.

I love coming here. They are so nice and I always get a great massage! I ever joined the membership because I have chronic pain and this is just so nice for me Erica specifically is my favorite! She knows where I need the work the most without telling her. You can tell she is an expert of the body.

I had a massage with Alex and he was incredible. I’ve had a headache for days and that was all I needed to tell him for him to work his magic. That was the most relaxing massage I’ve ever had and he relieved every knot and tension area I had. I will definitely be booking with him again and recommending him to anyone who needs some stress relief. Massage Envy as a whole has always been the most professional massage place I’ve ever been to. Throughout this pandemic they’ve done everything in their power to keep this a safe environment and allowing me to fully relax knowing they’ve got my back. I have so many amazing things to say about this place.

My therapist was Tamara and she was amazing. My back is the best kind of sore today. (I asked for firmer pressure and she delivered). I can move more easily and she was responsive to my feedback. I felt comfortable with her and when I return I will definitely schedule with her. I also have some health issues (injuries and a pic line). I was concerned about how my therapist would respond (would they heir on the side of caution and refuse a service / treatment on an entire area?, etc.) she was appropriately cautious and followed all of my requests but was unphased and showed complete confidence and competence. It was my first time receiving a massage since my surgery and it was so validating to have her say we can work around that, Ive got this. Kudos to Tamara!!

Full disclosure: This second treatment was free, due to an issue with my first time.-I am rewriting and re-reviewing this place after they went out of there way in hopes of fixing things with my first, poor experience. That alone says a lot of good things about the company, looking out for a customer who was not satisfied and wanting to have a good reputation. I respect that a lot!Arriving was much better and smoother, being let in with a lot of time prior to my appointment so I could be situated and know Im not forgotten. My massage itself was much better and timely too. In fact, Id say they really looked out for my needs! I was asked questions to help navigate exactly what I needed, learning about what could use more attention and they really focused on that. It was impressive honestly, and I left feeling like I really got worked on places that needed it.It was really appreciated that Marsha even told me some little stretches and stuff I could do at home, because she noticed a particular part of my body I should put more care in for. That was fantastic! I got a FULL session which was part of my issue last time, and overall, every issue I had with my first review is out the window and has been more than taken care of this time.Overall, a wonderful experience. I was cared for. I was given this treatment to make amends for a prior, bad experience. I was welcomed in and started in a timely manner. And I was left with a kind farewell and good advice.I will likely get a member ship in the future, and I couldnt be happier in changing a bad review to a top 5/5 review. Thank you Massage Envy!

Was leaving the beach and decided to call for a massage to find someone had canceled their appointment with Maria. That persons loss and my gain. Had a great massage. Maria was very professional. Though I typically like 1.5hr massages I felt very refreshed after my appointment. A BIG THANK YOU.

It was my first time in there, and my technician John made the experience so enjoyable. He was very professional and courteous. I was so relaxed I actually fell asleep. I will become a member here the prices are even better if you become a member. Drop I for a visit and request John you will definitely get your money worth and leave feeling completely refreshed!

10/10 recommend seeing Iris if you like deep tissue. Shes SUPER good at her job and always makes me feel comfortable. On our first appointment she asked for my consent to be touched and that was the first time anyone has done that. Without fail she releases tension and has been helpful in managing my chronic pain; shes even taken time to walk me through stretches to help. Iris is professional, competent, and talented. Not to mention, she herself, is a wonderful, kind person. Give that woman a raise 👏👏

I saw John for a facial! He was amazing! Took really good care in making sure I was comfortable and he made sure that I knew exactly what was coming next. My face feels like butter! We had a wonderful conversation too! I’d love to come back to John for another facial soon!

I was worked in for a thirty minute massage same day, and boy do I wish it was longer! Everyone was kind and efficient. Sclena was so nice throughout the whole process and made me comfortable. She has some awesome massage skills, too.

Too expensive for a facial. Paid $125 for a 45 min facial. Not worth it. The esthetician was great but for a price like that - I expected more than just a wash and moisturizer. The only reason for the stars is because the facial massage provided felt good.

Selena is amazing!! She listens to me when I tell her about my pain, and seems to know how to hit the right spots and help ease my pain. She makes me feel very relaxed and makes me feel like I’m her only patient, because she remembers things I tell her every appointment and takes special care of me!!! The front staff are always smiling and friendly. This is why I joined and am now a member. I have now been going for 4 months and love it!!!

Terrible Customer Service!Don’t answer calls and don’t return messages when left on machine. Not once or twice but three times this year so far.Receptionist hung up on me and then denied it when asked when I came in and tried to schedule.I tried for 3 months to schedule a couples massage with a gift certificate and finally was given an open date over two weeks out! Then when I told them that would work they wanted all of my quests name and info when this was supposed to be a surprise and on top of that they wanted my credit card info again to hold an appointment for a spot I had paid for months ago and was not able to use.When I walk in there are two receptionist, yet neither of them had been able to return my call from two and a half hours earlier. The one who had just hung up on me, the reason I drove in is playing with her nails! I feel sorry for the owners who had to refund my $150.00 and the therapist who will be missing out on their tips, because I am a great ripper when I am taken care of.Spend your money somewhere that knows how to treat people and their co-workers!

Sade was awesome. I was able to move in ways that I had not in a while. She took her time and communicated everything she was doing from the pressure to the stretches. I already have my next appointment booked with her!The front desk young lady was not so great. She was not rude, but very detached and void of interaction. I am so used to being greeted with a smile or personality and it was missing. She also could not remember my name even after I told it to her.Usually when I am being checked out I am asked would I like to use the card on file or another form of payment. She just proceeded until I asked if she was going to use the card on file.Maybe it was a bad day for her, but please remember you are in a customer service job and connection is key for returning patrons. Sometimes this can be a make or break to return to a business.

My son and family got me a 60 minute session for my birthday. About 5 days prior to the session I tweaked my back. Paolo was amazing!! And to top it off, I woke with a migraine and he worked on that as well! Definitely will be back and even got a membership.

I’ve been attending this massage envy location for almost 4 years. I renew my membership every year. I’m currently seeing Ms Donna for monthly massages and Mr Lee for my facials and I will continue unless something negative occurs. They are great with me and my requested services are always spot on. These are my people oh yeah and if I’m tired they don’t mind and if I’m a talker they don’t mind. ♥️

Sabrina was sweet and I could tell she was passionate with her work. She really helped me relax. She helped me get into a state of mind that helped with deep relaxation. It was the only time I get to myself and sleep because I have a newborn. Her calming voice and gentle touch was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend her as a massage therapist if you have any issues trying to relax or destress.

My first experience here was indeed the WORST massage I had ever received in over 20 years of receiving massages. HOWEVER, after being convinced of returning, I found an awesome Therapist who I absolutely love coming to see. He is by far, one of the best, and I am very glad that I gave this location another try!

Josie was great! Her approach l allowed her to target much needed areas of relief for me. She is slow and thorough which lead to us finding out some more issues for me to watch and tackle. Very knowledgeable on what was going on and how to help me. Definitely will ask for her again.

Donna is great! I’ve seen a few people at another location and wanted to try the one at Loehman’s Plaza. Donna happened to be available the day I wanted to come in and I’m so glad! She does a great job! The best I’ve experienced so far!This location also takes the new safety measures seriously and it’s greatly appreciated.

I had Marsha and she was fantastic. Right amount of pressure. Left feeling way better than when I entered. Super personable. I made a 2nd appointment with her before I left the parlor. The front desk staff was great too. I was there on 10/01/2021 at 12:45-2:15ish, Idk the names of the front staff desk, but if the day and time help to find out names, the front desk staff was wonderful as well. Especially the girl who checked me out and booked my next appointment when my initial appointment was over. Would 10/10 recommend.

Sade always does a wonderful job. I am recovering from surgery and have a rather large scar on my back. She has helped to break up scar tissue and the scar keeps getting less noticeable and feels so much better. I request her when I go to Massage Envy. My friend said that Bernadette was good also.

This particular massage envy seems to be constantly having issues. The massage therapist are great, but management and the front desk training seems to be lacking. I have purchased services and been told one thing, but then later find out that what I was told verbally isn’t actually what the service entails. I’ve had my massage therapist not show up that day and the front desk never called me and didn’t tell me upon check in. I’ve had the front desk staff tell me that they don’t know the answers to my questions and I’ll need to call back on a weekday to reach the manager. So during my work days I end up carving out time to repeatedly call massage envy. Scheduling appointments at this massage envy has ended up causing me significantly more stress than the massage itself relieves.

After a long full week I decided to treat myself to a spa day. I had the pleasure of having Tamara as my Masseuse. She was AMAZING! It’s been about 7 years since I was last at a Massage Envy. I cannot wait to go back a request her as my new go to person. She listened to all of the focal points that were giving me issues and relaxed me more that I could have imagined.

Clarence introduced himself, provided me very clear and concise instructions before leaving the room and allowing me to undress, he came back & got right to work without hesitation, he only spoke a few times checking to ensure that I was okay with the pressure and adjusted accordingly (which was great because I wanted a quiet session to relax), and at the end he asked if I was feeling better.Ill admit, I was skeptical at first but Clarence understood the assignment. I will definitely be returning to be serviced by Clarence in the future.

Eddie was the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. Very smart, knowledgeable guy. A master of his craft. I’ve had chronic shoulder pain for 5 years; I’ve been to other massage therapists, chiropractors, orthopedist, physical therapists, nobody has been able to help apart from him. My shoulder feels great and I’ll be exclusively seeing him for massages from now on.

Beautiful clinic professional people but as for my massage? It was fast (not slow and relaxing) pokey not smooth and pain relieving. She was shaking me And my hour session ended about 10 minutes early. It’s my time I will never get back. Then they asked me to give a huge tip! And asked me to join a monthly subscription to waste my money every month to do that all over again! That place has great potential it is truly a shame no massage service.

Nubia is fabulous! I’ve given her glowing reviews in the past, but this month she outdid herself. Her knowledge of how to release tension throughout my musculature is amazing — after my massage yesterday I slept better than I have in weeks.

Donna was THE BEST massage I’ve ever had! Her customer service was great and she knew the perfect spots to press. Her strength was perfect for my people who love deep pressure massages.

Excellent Communication! Paolo not only talked about my specific areas, before we started, he also gave recommendations on my neck pain such side sleep pillow, ice pack and vertical desk while teleworking. He just really seemed to care and I left feeling So Much better. So good, I renewed my membership and the entire place is COVID compliant.

Iris is an amazing therapist. Engaging, polite, and thorough. The front desk staff were attentive and calming. I was able to relax and didn’t feel neglected or irrelevant. Thank you so much. See you again soon!

I thought a massage was nice to have once in while. I didn’t realize how much better my body feels when I get them regularly. I carry stress and bad posture in my neck, shoulders, and back. Stephanie has melted the pain away. She takes time to check in with my concerns then, starts, and I wake up 90 minutes later feeling like brand new.

It was my first time ever visiting Massage Envy. My therapist Nubia gets a 5. She was professional, patient and she listened to my concerns, as well as my restrictions. The massage was wonderful. She has awesome skills .The Spa and the atmosphere was calming as well as inviting. I will be going back.

Being a Massage Therapist myself , I found Ericas massage the most superior service Ive received in years. She is exceptionally perceptive in analyzing and performing the services needed. I loved every minute!

Marsha! Marsha! Marsha. I came to massage envy hunched over after some serious muscle strain from moving to Norfolk. I asked for someone w deep pressure and the front staff “super nice by the way” both said Marsha would be perfect. I’m a regular now and better than I was before the over exertion. I’m even starting to go to the gym today which I haven’t done for better than a decade. I give the staff here a solid 10!

My wife and I have been members since July, 2013, and have a very meaningful and productive experience on every visit. Marsha is the best! She knows what to do with my problem areas and explains in detail what is going on where I have pain or discomfort. She also provides me with self remedies when at home. Because of her, my recovery time from knee replacement surgery has accelerated greatly.The Front Desk is very friendly and accommodating. They call to inform me of cancellations and offer extended times that don’t always appear on the app.I highly recommend the Loehmann’s Plaza site to anyone in need of a professional massage.

My fiancé and I got a couple’s massage for my birthday yesterday by Donna and Bernadette and they were amazing!! Very professional, great communication and massage was wonderful. Afterwards my body felt so relieved and relaxed I will definitely book with them again!

My facial done by Lee was phenomenal! My skin was glowing afterwards! He also has the best personality and communication! He explains everything that’s being done thoroughly. He kept a fair distance and wore his mask the entire time so I felt extremely safe also.

I got an appointment with massage envy because I have sciatica and I wanted them to target my lower body but instead they worked on my back… I initially addressed the pain I’ve been having and it seemed like she understood. So she started with my back but I figured she would work her way down. Eventually she did work on my legs but it was only like 2 min each. She did a great job working on my back but it wasn’t what I wanted.

My massage therapist was great. However, I had been calling the location all day and no one ever answered the phone. I also left a message, and no one returned my call. When I arrived for my appointment, there were two people at the front desk. Maybe they were busy with something that wasnt obvious, but they didnt look busy. Im offended at my call being ignored all day.

Donna has magical hands. I left relaxed and in a lot less pain that what I came with. She checked in with everything she was doing to make sure I was comfortable and it was an overall pleasant experience. This location has wonderful communication as well.

Brenda was absolutely amazing with doing my facial. She gentle and very knowledgeable about my face. The conversation was pleasurable and enjoyable. Ill be back again with Brenda.

I was a Massage Therapist for 15 years. I worked at a country club for 10, and I have worked with professional athletes. My father is a Rolfer. I have been getting professional Bodywork for 42 years. I tried 5 other Massage Therapist when I moved to this area before I found Josie. She is instinctive and intuitive. While I was seeing her she helped me tremendously with my frozen shoulder. She does ask about pressure, but she always has it right anyway. She is AMAZING!!!!!!

Sabrina was awesome! Her hands are truly blessed and you can tell she loves what she does!!! I felt so relaxed after our session. I cant wait for my next visit with her!!!

Erica is always professional, inquisitive, thorough, and effective with her treatments. I’m lucky to have her in my therapeutic realm! She always talks through what’s good or needing work and how to keep feeling good between visits.

I paid for extra thirty minutes but got shorted 30. Appointments was at 1pm I showed up on time mind you. She started at 1:15pm finished at 2:15pm so I paid for something I didn’t receive. I definitely won’t do this again. Next time I’m going to speak up.

Paolo is amazing. He incorporates meditation techniques in his massage. It is so relaxing and very enjoyable. 10 out of 10 recommended him. Also, the front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Never a bad experience.

Looooooove this location. I’ve had a few (like 13) massage credits I’d been waiting to cash in on and was a little reluctant to try a new place after we moved from Hampton. While my therapist was only light/med pressure she did a phenomenal job on my shoulders. The front staff were all super helpful and sweet! Definitely making this my spot!

Clarence was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and shared information about how muscles work together and when they are stressed etc. He was amazing! I bought a membership package after and plan to schedule with him every month!

Each visit gets better and better. The sciatic pain I was experiencing has been reduced greatly. I feel more grounded and awake in my body. Paolo even showed me some useful tips I can use between visits. I’ll definitely be back!

Erika has magical hands 🙌 dont hesitate to book with her. Thr app only says she goes to firm level but if youre looking for deep tissue (like I normally do) she checks the box. Seriously intuitive, can feel exactly what you need, what level of pressure and how to target your aches without even telling her. I can not recommend enough!

It’s sad that they’re willing to let go of a customer who’s been with them for many many years because I for once forgot I had an appt today and they were calling my old number so they couldn’t get a hold of me. Should I mention that they have canceled many of my couples massage a few mins before our time and they don’t give us extra massage sessions or anything we basically gotta deal with that but I can’t forget I had an appt which never happens. I guess I’ll give my money to another company and best believe I’m taking everyone I recommended with me!!!

The massage was decent but the therapist lost out on a larger tip due to the front desk being extremely rude and incompetent. I handed cash to the receptionist and she couldn’t figure out a percentage to put into the computer, so she he even me back change when there was no need. I am there to relax not to do someone’s job for them.

My therapist, Kimberly, was amazing. I went in tight all over from skiing after a 16 year break. Needless to say, I was hurting. Kimberly knew exactly where I needed the most help. Her pressure is deep and perfect!! I will be back soon!!

Sade is the best! She worked on the areas I had pain and muscle cramping and really knew what she was doing. I had great relief of my pain and felt very relaxed after. I highly recommended this location.

Perfect place to unwind. They offer facials and various massages. Every time Im in the Hampton Roads area, this is where I go for a massage. The front desk is friendly and takes the time to get to know you. Ive never had a problem finding a good therapist here either. Their hours are great for those that work all day and need time to relax as well.

Donna is the definition of a massage therapist. When you schedule a full body massage she is the woman that gives you the definition of what you expect. Donna makes you reconsider every other massage you’ve had before her. I religiously saw a woman name Micki who works in Wilmington North Carolina at Massage Envy because she is the definition of a full body massage. I did not think I would find another like her, I thought I was going to have to suffice with what I got to get by until I move back home.I truly hope that your company appreciates Donna as much as I do! I will no longer be seeing any of your locations in Virginia except for her location.

I went there for a massage on 4/16/2021, Marsha did my massage however it was by far less than a relaxing experience. While providing my massage, Marsha attempted to spark conversation & instead said some offensive comments in regards to my CULTURE & my hair. I was asked how long it took to put my locs in, and then after that she referred to my hair as a nest. I will NEVER return to this establishment again. Very inappropriate to my people, & culture.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.I booked a massage through your website on December 18th for December 27th from 4-6pm with a team member from your Virginia Beach Loehmanns Plaza location, 4000 Virginia Beach Blvd, Suite 160. When I logged into my account I noticed that the website wouldnt allow to me update my phone number from an old one but that my email address was correct. As of today 12/27/2020 while getting ready, I received an email saying thank you for your recent visit. I immediately went online and my appt was no longer online and no appointment showed up in the previous appointments tab. I called the location and spoke with Matraca, the location manager whom was extremely unhelpful. She told me I wasnt in the system and that they tried to call the number on file. I let her know about the inability to update my phone number on the website but that my correct email was on file which is how I knew something was wrong and when I looked in my bank account the money $230 was withdrawn for services I did not receive or get a call or email for. I told her that I know what day I booked for because I put it in my calendar and that I had plans on the 26th already for my birthday so I wouldnt have booked the massage for the 26th and that I booked for the 27th. I asked her since there was a mix up if I could get a refund. She kept apologizing and mentioning the policy for a no show which I think is entirely unfair when I didnt book for that day and I didnt receive a proper phone call or email. She didnt even try to rebook me for another day or offer any type of assistance to make the experience better. Her customer service and your company ruined my birthday. I want my money refunded in full and I will report this as fraud. Your website needs to be updated for customers to be able to update their phone numbers or at least updated to be able to get emails about their appointments especially if the location isnt able to reach a customer by phone bc they have updated information that you wont let be changed virtually. I dont appreciate the treatment from your company in regards to customer service especially for the price and horrified by an agreement that isnt even laid out in a document that is sent or accessible to the clients. This is horrible business and I wouldnt encourage anyone to deal with your business in the future.Savior Knight

Oh my gosh! This place had me floating when i left. They really listen to where your pain is and where you have the most stress at, and where you want her to massage the most at. And the aromatherapy is even better i love the different aromas my favorite is invigorating.

Been a member for about a year and I’m in the military so being able to go to any massage envy is great. It’s 60 a month and you get a monthly facial or massage. My last masseuse was Eddie at this Massage Envy Loehmanns Plaza. 10/10💕 THE Best of the Best! See you in two weeks sir 😂

I got a 90 massage on my vacation and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and professional and Jessica gave an excellent deep tissue massage. It was exactly what I needed to de-stress and she was able to work out a lot of the tension I was carrying in my shoulders. I was able to find a Massage Envy near my home so I purchased a 6 month membership. I only hope the one near my house is as nice as this one.

These people are ridiculous. They rescheduled my facial appointment an hour prior to the time I was supposed to come in and put me in for a later time. Which if fine. But failed to relay to me that they were going to CHARGE MY ACCOUNT for the time that THEY had to reschedule. Im still going in for my massage because Im a very frugal person and enjoy wasting my money! If you want bad customer service representatives with an attitude, by all means go here, but I can assure you there are plenty of other massage and facial salons that will give you a much better experience than I had.

I’ve been to many Massage Envy locations and I will say Loehmanns Plaza is the best! Mainly because of the Massage Therapist and the friendly front office staff. Erica, Steph and Eddie are my favorite therapist. Each have their own unique techniques and even switch it up each session. I get a firm to medium firm massage and they have me feeling like a brand new person afterwards! Love having a membership too, the perks of discounts on multiple massages a month plus being able to transfer my massage to a friend is great too. If you are looking for a place that will have you feeling amazing, try out this location and the 3 therapist I suggested! They’ll take great care of you.

Why get a massage? For me it is healing of the body and mind. I reserve Alex when I have muscle ache and pain and I reserve Jake when I am supper stressed or have high anxiety. An hour is okay - but Ive learned an hour and a half is best to get the full benefit. They have a great staff - be honest about what you are looking for and they will match you up with the right masseuse. For example, do you want male or female, big or small hands, cool or warm hands, talkative or quiet, firm or gentle, healing or calming? Did you have a negative or a whats the big deal kind of past experience? - give it another try and ASK for what you want. You will not be disappointed.

Sabrina is AMAZING. I hadn’t been able to come see her in months and she remembered what we had worked on before. All the massages are personalized, but she takes it to another level!

Apparently starting in October 2022 there will be a $5 surcharge, if using a different massage envy that you signed up at. Membership prices were at 55, now at 65 with a surcharge, sounds pretty fishy too me.

Eduardo is my guy!!!! I got there in pain and I leave feeling significantly better. I also like how he incorporates teaching in his massages so I always learn what parts of My body need the most work.

I havent had a massage in a year. My last therapist at another spa no longer works there. I have anxiety about new people touching me. I always seem to have worse pain after a massage than before. Josie really knows what she was doing. I felt at ease with the pre-massage waiting area and my therapist to start. I was in a car accident that left me with an iliosacral sprain, a leaking spinal disk and back spasms, among other injuries. Ive had pain ever since. The massage really combined several different techniques and I walked out nearly pain free. And today, the day after, i am nearly pain free with more range of motion over my whole body. I chose not to join the program because of funds but Im starting to reconsider.

Just finished an hour and a half massage and not impressed at all! The areas I wanted focused on and verbalized that I wanted the majority of the session to be spent on them were not addressed at all! She did more stretching of my limbs than actually massaging them. I actually came out feeling worse than when I went in. My back hurts along with everything else that was aching when I went in. Would NOT go back there again!

This was my second visit to the Loemahns Plaza Massage Envy and I am warning all potential customers to NOT go there. The first massage was $39 and was OK, they wait until you are relaxed and ready to head home and hit you with a member program package pitch. After declining, there was a definite change in the employees attitude and it wasnt for the better.The second massage came to fruition after my husband bought a $39 gift card for me for Mothers Day. I received a call from Massage Envy offering half off of of all services until July 3rd. I called to see if I could get half off of the $78 hot stone massage and was told yes so I booked the appointment. The massage was excellent but upon leaving, I was hit with the member pitch again and only after declining I was charged the full $78. I was told that I misunderstood and that I was getting half of the non member price of $156.After debating, the manager refused to honor their quote and I had to pay and extra $40 dollars.I would never go to any of their locations just because of their deceitful business practices.BUYER BEWARE!

Called in and they had time for 60min massage in a 90min space. Declined to book me. Reason: saved for anyone to do a 90 min only. Then when I asked to talk to a manager..(In the 30 seconds they had me on hold) they all of a sudden booked it. Hard to believe on a rainy night when most people cancel. Poor business practice and I have been a dedicated member for years. They are trying to up-sale the massages even at the risk of loosing bussiness. Be careful with them.

I have a membership I can not use or cancel because I can never get them on the phone. I didnt originally select this location. My original location in Norfolk closed which I loved and I was reassigned to this location.

I used to think massages were just a luxury, but after my time with Massage Envy, Ive realized how much of a necessity it really is. I used to have a lot of neck and shoulder pains, and even though I could ignore it during the day, I never realized how much it was affecting my sleep. After about 3 months of getting regular massages I really noticed a difference. I also love that the staff is so friendly, they actually seem to care about me rather than seeing me as just another wallet. If ever I am not completely satisfied with my massage (which is rare), the girls up front will make sure they understand what I did or didnt like about it so that can reccomend a therapist that will better suit my needs. I would definitely reccomend Massage Envy to anyone who is looking to better their lives through massage therapy. Their facials are also great too!

Terrible service. The man who massaged me kept hurting me, and refused to ease up after I asked multiple times. I left in worse pain than when I went in, and even though I paid for an hour I only got 45 minutes because they had to start late since their computer system didnt work and he thought he was slick by heading out early as well. Of course, they still expected me to tip AND buy an overpriced membership with next to no benefits.

I have tried a good 12 Massuses from Norfolk to Virginia Beach because of a gift plan and never was able to get a decent massage from either massage Envy or Massage Lux. But Eddy at the Loehmanns Plaza is very good .Great pressure and listens to my requests for work in specific areas.

I came in for a massage here and the masseuse was extremely heavy handed. I was literally cringing in pain the entire time. I kept asking her to use less pressure which she would for a moment then it would get bad again.This was a swedish massage not deep tissue.
