Recently got my spider vein treatment done here, and I’m so blown away by my results! I have another treatment for a sun spot that is scheduled soon. Will be using this business for all my cosmetic treatments from now on! Tara & Ally are AMAZING and knowledgeable of everything related to dermatology. 10/10 recommend this place. It’s like stepping into Breakfast at Tiffany’s! 🤍

I purchased a Groupon for an IPL photofacial at First State Med Spa. Tara took great care of me. The staff was super friendly when booking. Tara provided detailed information for the consult and about the procedure and exactly what to expect. Im thrilled with the results, and the location was easy to get to! I will definitely be booking again!

This place was fantastic. I had my consult with Laura and she sat with me and discussed my skin concerns, gave me a very detailed and informative plan for next steps, and what she could do to help. She probably sat with me for like 30 minutes and while i did not choose to get treated during my consult i felt absolutely zero pressure to do so. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. would highly highly recommend. Also they run specials all the time and their prices are really unbeatable.

I don’t usually post reviews because I take them with a grain of salt. Many people seem to use them as a way to bully businesses, but this establishment is absolutely top notch and my experience with Laura, the nurse practitioner doing the Botox injections was what made me decide to post. Pleasant, warm, inviting demeanor, and so kind and patient with all of my questions. She made me feel heard, and gave me all the time I needed to to make up my mind. Her technique was flawless, and confident so I felt very comfortable. She had great attention to detail and is very knowledgeable. Don’t trust your face to just anyone. I chose to have my PDO thread lift done with Laura at First state med spa. First off, the staff is absolutely amazing. Laura was thorough in explaining the entire procedure and the process. During the procedure Laura and her assistant made me feel comfortable and calm. This was my first experience with PDO threads and I will absolutely be doing them again. My results speak for themselves. Additionally, I expressed some concerns I had about migrated filler. Laura assessed my situation and was able to successfully dissolve the filler which was undeniably injected too deep into my tissue. I am thrilled with those results as well! If you’re considering any facial injectables or just interested in aging a little more gracefully definitely make an appt here for a consultation.

They answered the phone right away, so I didnt have to be on hold for long. The customer service was excellent, and the facial I received left my skin feeling excellent. The products were not too strong to cause skin issues due to my sensitive skin. The review was a 10/10. Laura, the NP, was extremely kind. I would definitely go there again!

I saw Laura, I love what she did to my lips. So nice and so professional will definitely go back!! She gave me an individualized plan for how I can achieve what I wanted. She took a lot of time talking to me, made me feel comfortable.

I had a visit with the NP Laura and had a great experience. She really took her time, listened to my concerns and answered all the questions I had. After care instruction were very clear. Tara was such a pleasure to be around. She helped me with my broken capillaries i had under my eyes and nose and shes just such a sweet gal. Only took 1 week after treatment and now my eye doesnt look black and blue anymore she is the best!

I was in recently and met Laura for the first time. She was the NP that injected my tox. She was fantastic. Knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and we had a lot of laughs. I’ll be going back to see Laura again soon!

I love this Med Spa. Everyone is so nice and professional. The environment is clean and well maintained.The estheticians are very detailed in their explanations about the service you’ll receive, and very meticulous about what they do. I’ve had Derma fillers and an Eyelash lift and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my results. It was my first time for both services. And the receptionist is just a sweet as she can be!

From the first phone call I made to schedule a service til the completion of the service was top notch. All the ladies were professional & answered all my questions thoroughly. Tara (the Esthetician) was awesome. Very knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. I would not hesitate to go back for any service. Great facility too.

I was very hesitant for my wife to have a lipo procedure but when I met Dr. Shapiro and his staff I knew she was in good hands. They discussed everything with us.Dr. Shapiro personally explained everything to me, he even called after the procedure that night to check on her and explain to me how to help post operative for her. The staff was amazing. Keisha, Tara, and Alle even came to her bedside often to just chat and keep her comfortable. Felt like a family there. Dr. S and his staff are amazing! Finally a Doctor that really knows about Lipedema and does not just say oh you’re fat lose weight. He really took the time to get to know me and wanted to know all about my legs and the issues I have had all of my life from them. Non-cosmetic WAL for Lipedema. Dr Shapira and his entire staff were absolutely wonderful. They addressed all of my questions and concerns before, during, and after my procedure. Nothing was ever rushed, and no amount of questions were too many. They kept me as comfortable as possible and were fantastic about following up to check on me post surgery. All of the staff was willing to answer any questions that I had about my aftercare. I appreciate each and every one of them!

I’ve been going to First State MedSpa for several months now for occasional peels, and finally decided to opt for a fuller and more defined upper lip. I received injections of both Botox/Xeomin for upper lip lines/lip flip, and a filler (Versa).I am VERY happy with the results, and will definitely do it once more. The staff are very welcoming, helpful, and professional. Dr. Shapira did exactly what I wanted, and listed to my concerns.I definitely recommend First State Med Spa!

I am usually not the type to write reviews but this place is too amazing. I look forward to every visit I have had with them. Tara is so kind and helpful with explaining how everything is going to work and being a person of color she made me feel comfortable getting laser done. I have had consultations at many other medical spas in Delaware and they have all said they were too worried to work on my skin because I have a darker complexion. If you are a person of color and are seeking out a medical spa I definitely recommend First State Med Spa.

Dr. s was not honest about the product I received he told me it was not permanent and the product contains (PMMA) which is permanent it is made of some type of plastic and it does not dissolve, I am not happy with my results. Dr. S was sued for mal practice when he worked at Christiana Hospital for trying On-Q procedure on someone an didn’t elaborate on the whole procedure, seems like he is known for not telling the truth.

Dr. Shapira is an experienced physician who will only be honest and thorough in all of his work. I’ve personally witnessed many patients he’s made happy and satisfied with his injections & treatments. The skincare products and treatments available at First State Med-Spa are medical grade and among the best of the best. The office is beautiful and your experience is personal & comfortable. 5 stars for First State Med-Spa!

She has customized my care to better suit my needs and really worked with my budget to recommend what would be best! Highly recommend them for laser hair removal!

First the enviorment was welcoming,comfortable and well manicured with products and examples of services offered, classy and chic! This was my very first experience at a Med spa and it will not be the last. Donna was PHENOMENAL! I am African American and I know my skin needs are different so sometimes Im scared to try new things. Donna gave me great deal of info that educated me on how to tweak/create a routine works best for me and not some random instructions on the back of some random cleanser. Highly recommended for ALL skin types! Shes a great esthetician, she made me feel super comfortable and confident about my appearance (something we all want)👏🏾

While everyone was extremely kind, I very much regret spending as much money as I did on the laser lipo a little under a year ago. I have weird uneven fat deposits mainly above my belly button more so on the left now even with my consistent exercise and diet. It was also extremely extremely painful, I was crying nearly the entire suctioning part of the procedure and had to take more Xanax and Percocet during and also needed to be re-numbed multiple times. The laughing gas also did absolutely nothing for me, personally. Recovery for me was also not as easy as the website said whatsoever. I unfortunately wasn’t able to workout for 2 months because I still had a lot of pain in certain parts of my abdomen. Although I have a bit more of an hourglass shape, I have become even more unhappy with my body than before because of the odd uneven fat throughout my stomach.

Dr. Shapira and staff should be rated above 5 stars! Have had 3 water assisted liposuctions and the results are phenomenal, both aesthetically and pain reduction for lipedema. I have never had a more caring and professional doctor. I travel from Virginia 4 hours for treatment and would not go anywhere else!

The office is comfortable, the rooms are cozy, and the staff is amazing. The knowledge is there and shared with you. You will be surprised with the amount of time they spend with you. Their consultations and visits are for your personal best with the least amount required. My experience felt natural and I trust their advise. I am currently trying the IPL, which saw a change after one and will be trying microneedling. (Jennifer is awesome!) Less is truly more, and possible, when you have the best working for you.It has been 6 weeks since I completed a skin care package and can say my results are amazing. Definitely turned back the clock and I barely wear makeup. I did a combination of IPL, microneedling, and hair removal. I have stuck to the basics with cleansing and have found my skin to be better and has retained the glow. I am looking forward to continue on a maintenance plan shortly. Taura is great! She did IPL on my face and a couple some spots on my chest. She is very knowledgeable and very nice.

Dr. Shapira is so knowledgeable! I told him I get really bad migraines and he looked at me and realized I grind my teeth really bad and that could be giving me migraines. He injected botox into the muscle and I have been mostly headache free since!! I also received the SmartLipo treatment. It was amazing! I have lost 3.5 inches around my waist/ love handle area, and I love the way my clothes fit me now! And Liz is amazing with skincare. Her facials are the best thing ever! I love this place and will definitely be back for more!

Wow this Spa is Amazing. I have been a client at first state vein and laser for almost two years and I have not been anywhere else. Like anyone else I love the sun. Tanning, etc, however now that Im 26 years old I have sun spots and acne scars. I never even wanted to leave the house without putting makeup on. I was terrified because I was getting ready to compete 4 months away for the Miss Earth Title. My aunt who also is a client, suggested the spa, to try and see if there is anything they could do for me. YESSS. They had an LHE Machine, also known as a photo facial. It was a laser machine that literally vanished my scares, and my skin tone looks perfect. I now where no makeup and only sunscreen. Thank you first state vein and laser. Avoid this place like the PLAGUE! I have been getting laser hair removal here for more than TWO YEARS under my arms and it still literally looks exactly the same. They have gone through three technicians (one of which was googling how to use the machine while I was laying on the table) and all of them swear that this round will be different. They admitted that they were not properly trained to use the machine and that they told me to come back at all the wrong intervals and we would start over. Lynn refuses to give me my money back because there is no guarantee. I have gone in when they were being investigated for burning another client. They have no idea what they are doing. I bought more services because I thought for some reason it was my fault it wasnt working (I bought facials and they threw in more underarm sessions). The girl used a scalpel (dermaplaning or something?) on my face and cut me- I had scabs on my chin for days. I think I felt bad for the technicians because they were sweet but they really had no idea what was going on or how to use any of the equipment. Later I spoke with my dermatologist and she had to giggle that I went through this and explained that laser hair removal is different than electrolysis and its not something you can have done in a place like this. I put off writing a review and giving up because like I said, the receptionist and techs were trying but they. I officially give up.
