Solid massage at a reasonable price! Great location easy to find right off the freeway too.Found it quite easy to make a reservation over the phone, even on very short notice. While the location may not look like much from outside, the interior is decorated in a pleasant and calming way. I especially enjoyed the hot stones, and found that my masseuse was very attentive in opening up the parts of my hips that were tight.There is parking in the front, but more rook in the back.

I just had the best massage ever. Just the right pressure. Never let me down. I have been coming here for a year now and I wouldnt go elsewhere. They are very polite, friendly. Just a pleasant and calm place. I enjoy my massage each time.

Candy is an excellent masseuse. One of the best I’ve ever been to. She is super strong, so keep that in mind when you want a deep tissue massage. Clearly she has the highest level of training, her technique is excellent.And this spa has a customer loyalty card. After your tenth massage you get a free massage. Incredible massage always. The pressure is perfect and the masseuses are very thorough and detailed. They hit many pressure points around your body and focus a lot of attention on foot pressure points which feels incredible. I always feel completely relaxed after a massage.

So different from the other location. Quiet space, comfortable, heated tables, fantastic massage. If you sign up for 90 minutes, you get 90 minutes - unlike some chain massage place where you get less. This is a really, therapeutic massage. I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage .. a little painful at points, but really, really good and exactly how it should be. The staff was friendly and I received a loyalty card by which you get a free massage after your tenth. This place is so good for my body and I appreciate so very much that it is a really deep massage. It seems a little sketchy when you park behind the building and enter the non-descript door - but it’s perfect once you enter. Go here for a massage that does your body good!

First time going here for a massage as I was recommended to go there. Relaxing atmosphere, nice dim lighting, quiet and clean. I had the 60 minute deep tissue massage with hot stones. Jerry was my masseuse and he did an amazing job. He is strong and works all the knots and tightness out of every muscle, there was a little pain in some areas but that’s because my muscles are so knotted. I left there feeling pain free, very relaxed and my muscles don’t feel tight anymore. Would definitely recommend this place for great priced massages, even with a $20 tip it was less than $85! So tip well 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

East to get an apt. Didn’t have to wait when we got there. Very clean , relaxing and professional. For the price it was one of the best massages I have had in a while. Me and my girlfriend both got 90 minutes and deep tissue. A lot of time the “deep tissue “ is not so deep. My masseuse walked in my back , used her elbows to dig in and then finished with hot stone. Would definitely recommend to any of my friends and family. 5 star all day.

Gave a 3 ...1) the man yelling for the employee and talking loud in a supposably relaxing environment 2) being slick. I told the man and pointed the 30 min foot massage. At the end they charged me and gave me the 60 min massage. It was satisfactory however I dont like misunderstandings when it comes to my money. Not sure if I will return.

Ive been coming here much lately to deal with car injury issues. These ladies all are wonderful and very well worth the time and money. They will work the entire time with both hands, (or feet if you ask.) They are not shy to help you get better. I myself do massage and find them to be much like myself. Very much about effort and making the person better, not just feel better like youll find at soft touch placesKoko is one that works on me often. Shes very strong, very focused. Her feet are very good, as well as her hands. If you can focus your mind and not scream like a stuck pig, she can help you right outta your issues.

Inside is clean and nice. Employees speak minimal English, massage wasn’t worth cost. Not a deep tissue massage walked on my back, warm stones, and lastly asked me to tip more.

We have been going to this location for years. The prices are great and we always tip really well. My husband always gets a lady and has a good experience. I always get a male who is always too rough, and despite letting them know the massage is too hard multiple time they continue to be rough after a minute of lighter massage. This time they cracked my back without letting me know and got sidetracked by a conversation with another staff person while massaging my neck extremely hard. I will not be going back again, I felt like I could have been seriously hurt. Today my back and chest are very sore, and I am a perfectly healthy person. This place feels more like a chiropractic adjustment than a massage. I used to get great massages here but will not risk a serious injury because the staff do not understand my request to be gentler.

Foot massages are great for the price you get alot of massage but they recently changed it from an hour to 45 minutes and its always so awakward trying to figure out if they have time to take you or not. Good massages though.

My massage was fantastic. My wife on the other hand had a less than wonderful experience. From my understanding her masseuse was much less professional than what is expected from a place thats been open for 7 + years. Sad that this stuff happens but professionalism should be key when it comes to these forms of business. No place should leave someone feeling more uneasy than when they came in. If someone says that they are much too low for comfort it should be respected and not ignored. I apologize for the bad review but I really hope that this is not the same experience for other individuals.

I have been going here for years and up until this last year we never had a problem. I went and got a 90 min massage and received a male therapist and felt very uncomfortable with how he made me feel. I dont believe that he carried himself well and placed his hands in places that were unnecessary. There was a point I had to pull my towel up because my body part was exposed and that is just wrong I will not be returning to this health spa

A family member and I decided to spend the day together in Albuquerque. I wanted to go to the UNM Art Museum but it was closed so we decided to get massages. Oriental Health Spa seemed like a good choice and they were so accommodating on the phone when we made our appointments. The interior of the building was lovely, calm, and clean. My therapist was male and he had very good boundaries. He asked me which pressure level I preferred and was responsive when I asked him to modify the stretches (stretching the knees, ankles, and shoulders is part of the deep tissue massage-if your joints feel compromised, communicate!). The work he did on my back, shoulders, and neck (the areas where I had the most tension) was extraordinary. I felt so different afterwards, like I was back in my body and ready to function with strength and vitality. I almost wept with relief. The hot stone work was great-perfect pressure and temperature. I could easily perceive the dedication and sensitivity of the practitioner. Though he and some of the other staff speak English with a fairly thick accent, repetition and patience result in mutual understanding (well worth the privilege of interacting with any person from another culture). I found the tipping guidelines to be totally reasonable considering the price of the massage and the level of service. I highly recommend Oriental Health Spa.

I have been going here for more than 6 months and have gotten a feel for the people and environment. Cici and Coco are by far the best massage therapist, they not only massage but stretch and crack your back. All around good place for massage.

I cant fathom how amazing this place is. I didnt know what to expect as it was my first time. I have been an avid patient at Mountain Spirit and this was on the same level of the esteemed clinic-if not better. For such low prices, I am convinced there is no place better. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the lovely staff. The place is clean and brought an immediate sense of tranquility. I got the foot reflexology massage and oh my goodness was I in Heaven. Andy is impeccable with his hands, a true master of his craft. Walking out of that massage, I felt my posture was aligned, all my stress/anxiety went away, and I was on cloud nine.I cant recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and check it out! The gift of self care is so needed in these times.

The place was clean. The message was not enjoyable. The gentleman was way to hard and put me out for about of week. Im an Olympic lifter and climber and he ruined my muscles. Mayne a lady would be better.

My husband and I have been regular customers of the Health Spa on Pennsylvania. Since that one was busy, we decided to try the one San Mateo. The facility is very nice and clean and the people were very friendly. However, they seemed to be short staffed. This was not a problem, since we had walked in we knew we would probably have to wait. We were informed that they had shortened the massage times, but we were eager for a massage and decided to go with it anyway. My husbands massage started ten minutes earlier than mine and I waited patiently, assuming that we would just finish at different times. However, after ten minutes my masseuse came and began my massage. As in our previous experience, the massage was very nice and relaxing. Both the massages finished at the same time. So my already shortened massage was shorted by over 20%. Our issue came when we went to pay, I tipped 25%. The lady at the counter asked me as I was still writing my receipt if I really meant to put that and if I couldnt possibly tip more. I explained to her that I had tipped the way I had because I had missed out on ten minutes of my massage. She reluctantly agreed, but assured me that next time I come I will tip more. Overall, what should have been (and was for a time) a relaxing experience, turned into a very stressful one. Although the people seemed friendly, I do not think that I will be returning in the future.

They prefer cash. The standard body massage is a good value and the late hours are very accommodating to a tight schedule. They take walk-ins as well as appointments. Some masseuses are better than others so find one who you like and request them.

I have been going to the oriental health spa on and off for years now. Last month, my dad and I went for my birthday. The place remains clean, relaxing, and gives amazing massages. I did the hour full body session, that started with a masseuse stepping on my back, and ended with a hot stone massage. Self care is so important and should be everyone’s priority♥️ I would recommend this place to anyone! It is such a good deal for the price as well:)

I took my girlfriend so we could both get a massage.The Oriental Health Spa may not look like much on the outside, but the inside is clean with a calm atmosphere, and the prices are very affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They worked out knots on my back I didnt know that I had. My girlfriend was very satisfied as well.We are already talking about when we will be going back.

Can seem a little sketchy at first, but you get fairly professional, inexpensive massages here. Some of their staff can be pretty adamant that you pay at least 35% tip, but maybe because their fees are fairy low, the business is trying to get more directly to their staff.. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Will not go back nor recommend. Thought we would have a couples massage experience, but instead just a nightmare story to share. The environment is far from relaxing. There is one large room with multiple massage tables. No privacy. They have a door to the room that you would think would be shut but they kept leaving it open so you can hear the customers waiting their turn talking in the hallway, plus the loud traffic zooming by on San Mateo. The masseuse didnt communicate at all during the massage or when he started touching me. They did not address the areas I thought I was paying for--shoulder and back. The woman working on my husbands massage answered several calls during the massage and even left him for a period of time to talk on the phone thus his 1hr massage was much shorter. Unprofessional.

Had a great massage, place was nice, clean and fresh. The staff were very nice. You are expected to pay a tip based off of a percentage that they give you not of your own personal gratuity (only down side). 25% of a tip is required if you got a good massage.

I really wanted to love this place. The massage itself was very deep, almost painful at some points, but that was ok for me.The atmosphere was dark and quiet, though the rooms have open ceilings (so not floor to ceiling walls), and I could hear the movements and clanging of the stones used on other clients at the same time I was getting a massage. That wasn’t a big deal either.I give it two stars because my therapist answered two phone calls during my massage and left the phone on the massage table next to my leg as he was massaging. It vibrated a handful of times. It was unfortunate and that made me feel uneasy.I found that the energy of my therapist was off, like he was experiencing burn out, there was no healing connection or aura about him, which translated directly into my body. He was on the aggressive side and I felt like it was a chore for him.I tried to explain to them after the massage that “I didn’t like that the phone went off and I wish he’d been more mindful about that,” but they didn’t understand me unfortunately. Or maybe they did. I don’t know.If you’re someone who just wants to get a deep tissue, thorough massage and don’t mind the atmosphere and lack of fru-fru, then this is a good place to go.

Richard was my massus and was super professional. He made sure I was comfortable with applied pressure. The price was also affordable. I will be recommending to my friends.

Place is clean and calming. However he completely missed my upper chest area. Then when checking out he got very upset about his tip. Kept pointing out the sign suggesting minum 20% which if the message had been better I would have been more than happy to have done. A tip is just that. Dont get mad and rip up the paper when its less. His attitude when leaving ruined the entire experience and I was stressed when I left. Totally defeated the purpose.

I went for the shoulder, foot and back massage. They ask that you be on time but they are so respectful and wonderful in what they do. They really are attuned to the individuals body and they brought me so much relief during a time when I held so much tension in mine. I definitely recommend to others. Was introduced to this place about a year ago, I’ve brought dozens of clients and business partners here since. As of recent they appeared to increase price ( less massage time ) and switch up staff and possibly management.Today, Thursday April 26h I decided to treat my mother and grandmother to a massage, I called in around 11:30 am to schedule a 6:00pm ( because they have gotten bad at walk ins ) we arrived, appeared normal, they were a little scattered but still took each of us to the group massage room, we all laid down, soaked our feet. The massage for my grandmother and myself started, my mother was waiting ( i didn’t notice I had towell they place over my face ). The lady who was massaging me had hands that smelt like feet already and she was massaging my face. I noticed after about 30 minutes my mother was not in the massage chair she left to the car. Now noticing she was gone on top of a horrible massage I was ready to leave. I paid for myself and my grandmother, I left no tip ( usually I tip $10 min and more ) the lady held my credit card, I guess in confusion that she got no tip, I reached for it she pulled it back, called for another lady that worked there and she asked “why no tip” so I began to let them know I’d been over 50 times ( probably an average of 2 times a week ) and have never had such a bad experience. I’m extremely bummed because I thought highly of this place for a while, I guess good things don’t always last.There’s another location on the east side of San Mateo that I had been going to because they raised pricing, they’re almost as good as this place WAS and still great price and excellent customer service !

Recieved a gift certificate for Christmas for a foot and body massage... really enjoyed it! Never had a professional massage before so I have a very limited frame of reference, but I highly recommend this place. Candy was my masseuse, she was great.

My experience with this “spa” started out great. Then, slowly over the last year, the quality of service declined. Actually got creepy and unprofessional. Communication is sketchy and it seems they do what they want to do whenever. I have requested female masseuse, due to the creepiness and each time no female. I’m usually very easy going but will no longer be a patron of either location.

My boyfriend and I have been a customers of the business for 4 years now and will continue to return. From facials to massage and from when they used to do nails and we absolutely love this place. Candy and the staff are always professional and we stand by the clean environment and professional staff. We receive treatments 2-4 times per week and will continue!

My massage was absolutely fantastic and I am picky. I am a rock climber in a marathon runner and regular massage is very important. I literally got a full body massage for $35. 1 hour. It was under the combination foot and body, but it was a full on body massage for an hour. It was great. This is my new go to place.

The outside isnt pretty, but the inside is cozy and clean. The staff was amazing and the prices are unbeatable. My husband and I wanted to be in the same room, and recieved the full body with foot (deep tissue) and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Very professional and highly recommended! We will be returning often.

Very sweet ladies and extremely effective massage! If youve never experienced Asian massage methods previously, dont be alarmed when they walk on your back or kneel on the table to really work the back and leg muscles. Its part of the technique. I always appreciate the foot massage as they use reflexology and its fabulous! I saw Lucy and she was very adept at deep tissue. I will definately go back!

Excellent. Calm atmosphere, soft meditation music, and great service. Made a believer out of me. I was pretty banged up and very tense from work with sore neck and back and I felt so much better the next day. And during my massage as well. Only thing is my neck is still extremely sore which may be other issues.

The service was good,but the owner isn’t she didn’t like my 10 dls tip. She told me “ only 10 dls ? Can you do a little better?!!very rude and demanding, does she even pay her employee ? Or they depends only on tips??? I won’t go back never! There is some better places. And the tip isn’t obligatory.

I have been a client at both of these spas for 5 years, often visiting multiple times a week. Many of their therapists have helped me recover from a bad knee injury due to a fall three years ago. I am so grateful to have found Oriental Health Spas. Healing is a slow process and I appreciate this place of business.

They have a very friendly staff, and they give an excellent foot and reflexology massage. I love it. The price is fine with me though I dont have a lot of experience Im happy with how Im taken care of there.

My husband and I came in for a massage. We had scheduled the massage for 4:15 unfortunately we were unable to make it due to being unable to arrange for a babysitter to watch our children in time. Once we arrived I apologized for us being late. Upon arrival we were greeted by a woman that didnt speak English, which is fine but since this was our first time I was wanting to know how everything worked. Shortly after, another women came out to greet us as well. It was very uncomfortable.. She rushed us to pick what we wanted to have done despite it being our first time ( in her defense she didnt know, but still not exceptable) I had made a choice, however I only asked for 30 mins seeing as how my husband and I needed to be back in hour to get our kids. The women then said wow only 30mins. I had told the women that we had to be back to pick our kids up. I was then cut off while speaking directly to her, as she answered the phone. Instead of putting the customer on hold momentarily, she continued her conversation on the phone and decided we werent as important. After that I suggested to my husband we leave. I then told the women directly that we would be leaving. It seems she understood. We attempted to leave but the women started asking where we were going.. I explained again that we are leaving. She may have became irritated and aggressively waved us off. The other women that was standing behind us gave a very mean stare.. Had it not been for the customer service they would have had our business.The area inside was kept very nice. Unfortunately, we didnt go through with the massage, so I am unable to comment on the full service. Overall experience? Not good.

As others have stated, at first the outside is a little off putting, but please please go in and try them out. I come in for business from out of state and everything about this place is wonderful - the front desk, the prices, the masseurs, the calming/welcoming atmosphere, and definitely the quality of the service performed.

I didnt have an appointment. Very friendly reception and they took me back immediately. My masseuse was Jason, a very polite young man. He worked out my back pain and foot pain. He almost put me to sleep. The only shortcoming is inability to speak English very well.

Everyone are all very nice and proffesional when I first started coming here I thought it might be a little sketchy but I was totally wrong ! I do not have any experience at the spa my experience was at the nails salon, honestly was so bad! i will never recommend this place, the girl was so rude i was with my little kid and she was mad even if he gets water or he walks! she cut my cuticle really bad and dont even say sorry!.Just bad!

This place was terrible! Dont waste your money. I asked for the half hour foot massage and they gave me the full hour and then tried to force me to tip more than I wanted to! Worst massage experience ever! I will not be returning.
