Food + drinks: 3.5Staff: 5Environment: 3Staff was super friendly with seating us and serving our orders. The interior is honestly nothing special and boring without live music which is only available after certain hours. Food was interesting but good for Ann Arbor standards (chicken tenders are the HIGHLIGHT) and drinks (fishbowl) were ok.
Was there to go clubbing. Didnt try the food but the drinks were on point. It was packed so the bartenders took awhile to get to us, but when they did they were lightning fast. Highly recommend any of the fishbowls. Music was lit. Seems like there were a lot of ppl age 18-20 there. Wish it was 21+ but its a college city so I understand why not.
Charging cover for 21+ when the bar is less than full and the atmosphere is mediocre. Anyone of age should just head elsewhere. Also a very rude manager. There’s a way to run a business while curating happy customers. This isn’t it.
Nice atmosphere, prices are good and they have a lot of drinks. The only bad thing here is the service, waitress are rude or just dont bother on take time on you,Today there werent many people on bar, even so, it took 15 minutes to have a beer.
One of my friends had bumped into one of their employees and they had kicked her out on her birthday within one minute of being there. Even if they had perceived an issue, two out of three of the employees were aggressive and EXTREMELY rude about the whole situation. One of the employees had been calmer and more respectful. They honestly just had terrible customer service and are one of the worst clubs in Ann Arbor. Their employees are the worst and they need to consider rehiring. There are more respectful ways to deal with situations.
Asked manager very politely if it would be possible to switch seats once they became available because it was very cold where me and my friends were sitting and instead of answering, he immediately shook his head and walked away very rudely. unbelievable behavior coming from a MANAGER, incredibly inappropriate. not to mention getting on a waitlist to be seated and watching groups walk in after us and seating themselves before we could be helped.
The manager pushed my friend and told her to move. She turned to our other friend and said “that was rude”, quietly. The manager overheard and proceeded to kick her out immediately. Sir, you have a fragile ego. Also cover is way overpriced for a bar with practically no dancing.
We had gone last night to Cantina for karaoke night. It was a terrible experience. We got shoved by the general manager STEVE while we were just waiting to sign up for karaoke. He was being extremely rude and that’s when my friend said “that’s very rude.” He was very entitled and that simple statement hurt his teeny weeny ego and he kicked us out. The employee who asked us to leave was also extremely rude. Cantina literally has the worst employees ever!! That was my first time at cantina and probably even the last - cantina sucks, skeeps rulessss. silly little cantina with their uptight and fragile ego🥱🥱
Initially thought this place was pretty solid, but feel like its been overhyped / hasnt lived up to my earlier visits
Food was honestly horrible and we waited an hour to get our food. How can you serve churros and forget the cinnamon? Really disappointing. Also the nachos were hard to eat because they were stuck to the paper on the tray and you had to eat the paper with the nachos. At least the dessert nachos were good. For sure never coming here again and telling everyone I know to stay away from this place. Worst food Ive had in Ann Arbor. Waitress was very sweet though.
Absolutely horrible. the employees are straight up trash. i’ve never seen such disrespectful people.
We went here for last minute drinks for my birthday. The drinks were good and we spent about $25 for 8 drinks in total so the prices were pretty good too. Dance floor is really small and the bar area was very cramped. The DJ that was there was terrible. Played the same 10 songs within the 2 hour span we were there, but overall its an okay place to go. Id recommend for a casual outing for cheap drinks and music.
Worst service ever!!! we came here for the michigan sweet 16 basketball game. we sat down at our table at 5:30. at 7:40pm the manager came up to our table and other tables around us telling us we had to leave for a private party. this information was not said to us when we sat down. if the manager or the hostess said this to us when we sat down we would have asked to sit somewhere else or went to a different place. will never come here again. manager and other servers were completely rude and kept saying they told us when they did not. other tables around us also said they were not told. come here only if you want disrespect and rudeness from the people who work here.
Bar and music are okay I guess, the the kicker for me was when the food I ordered here made me throw up in the bathroom toilet 2 hours later and then the bouncer threw me out even though I was stone cold sober. Wouldn’t recommend going if you don’t like risking food poisoning and then getting kicked out because of it 😭😭😭.
Some employees at this establishment need to be fired. I witnessed a rude and drunk employee verbally harass and kick out a customer during late-night dancing. This type of behavior was the worst I’ve ever seen in a bar and. Horrible bar that needs to make some changes
Nice little hotspot located just a few steps outside the heart of Ann arbor. The loaded nachos were very plentiful in portions. The tacos had great flavor and good combinations of ingredients. Line out the door always means a great establishment to enjoy great food.
False advertising. It states right on their website that Saturday nights theres a DJ and dancing. Went to have a good night with friends. No DJ present, and no dancing. At the beginning there was some decent club music over the speakers, half way through it changed to the audio of a basketball game on the TV, which we were then forced to listen to for the rest of our meal. Which we cut way shorter than we planned. A single waitress seemed to be serving all of the tables. Not to mention the sub par food we were served. Friends stated there was almost no liquor in their drinks, only massive amounts of sugary syrup. Would absolutely not recommend. Two thumbs down.
Service was great by the same lady at one table, as I moved tables the service changed extremely. Being an owner of another company I asked for the manager for some help. So I asked for the manager and the bouncer outside told the waiter that I complained about was changing and he apologized. He told me he would take care of it, and someone In charger would address the situation. Never was the manager addressed or came to the table. Never was anyone in charge apologized for the crappy service. Overall a fun bar but bad service and accountability.
Decide to venture out to Ann Arbor for taco Tuesday and decided to come here instead of my local hot spot in Ypsi called Maíz. The margaritas and tacos were fabulous, BUT the service was horrendous, so much so that it ruined the experience of my group that I was with. The server was not friendly from the moment she greeted us. She mixed up the drink orders twice, and had an attitude when it was said that she got it wrong. I didnt know if they offered chips and salsa here because my group and myself had never been here, so I kindly asked the server if they served chips and salsa here and she rudely answered by saying you want some chips? in a disgusted tone. Servife was also very slow. Server dis not come back for long periods of times to check on our table. I am deterred from coming here anytime soon, but will maybe give it a shot at redemption in the future. Seems to me that I can always find good food in downtown Ann Arbor, but hardly come by friendly service.
It is always hard to give five stars, I feel like it meet every expectations. The crew are very friendly and nice.Of course it is not a cheap place in terms of budget, but it is fairly priced for the kind of place it is part of - I guess you will put that in the fancy place, and in that case for AA it is cheap. The place is very modern looking and very cool to be at. It change of usual fast food look or low key look you can find. It is also not to fancy but very much a casual feels and mood. The cocktails are classic and good. Nothing to brag about but everything to enjoy. The food? Great - especially the tacos, some will say the best in town - to be honest if not the best, I will say some of the best. The price range from $2,5/3,5 per tacos witch place them on the low fancy side of the Tacos market. But the flavors are really great, clearly the ingredients are premium and... They are well proportionate: three tacos will feed your man.The flavors are classic but well executed and so you will really enjoy them. The Tacos crepes it self seems to be more of the premade kind, but rarely you find some of the daily homemade in USA (am I too exigent?).I really like the salsa going with the chips - the lime used are strong and sweet - perfect to my personal taste with that tiny kick from the garlic -> wonderful kick I might say.A real good experience, we like to take away but like also to chill at the table during the early stage of the evening when the place is still empty.Speaking of...The place is very nite, upstairs with a nice view over the street. So far south U is not the most interesting place in campus, but with the recent update... It might become way more trendy and a more interesting street to be looking at it. Yes, I am French and part of the delight in drinking and eating with a good view is to enjoy the street life.Love it. Highly recommend.
Bangin tacos, awesome bartenders and great drink specials. Definitely worth checking out. Turns into a nightclub at 10 if youre into dancing.
VERY good since the new chef arrived. Got chips, (a lot of) guac, a big burrito and tacos for $20. The food is really very good. Its my new favorite burrito place and I will certainly be back. The proportions are VERY generous.
This place is a) super boring b) the drinks are not good and c) they will kick you out for the most minor of infractions. Do not rent this place out or come here as there are many significantly better establishments in Ann Arbor.
Ive been to cantina a couple times and their service is great. You can find food and drinks there and the quality is great. They have good deals on taco Tuesday and usually on Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm their kitchen is closed but the bar stays open and it usually has a dj.
This place has such a good variety of classics and surprising flavors. Ill stop-by for carry-out but its also a nice vibe on the second floor to hang in the afternoons with a view of the student area and some people watching. Such a great place to grab drinks with friends and some REAL TASTY guac too!
Visited here in the evening with a group of friends. We were not shown to a table. Most of them were full and there were one or two dirty tables open. We sat down and waited to flag a server but nobody was attending to the floor. After about 10 minutes we decided to take our business elsewhereEdit for Owner response: We visited on April 19.
This is my go to and favorite place for a night out. Its always a great time, the staff is nice and try their best to serve everyone. The music is always great and everyone seems to be having fun when I have been there. You cant go wrong with choosing Cantina for a night out.
I used to like this place, as the food and margs were tasty (although very expensive for the location). My most recent experience here has taught me that this place is a bad establishment, run by a corrupt owner.Last weekend, my friends and I decided to go to cantina to dance at a place we knew had decent drinks but would be empty. We wanted an empty place, since one member of our group had an injury and couldnt stand for very long. Cantinas reputation of being best dancing spot for underclassmen at the university (since they have a reputation of letting under 21YOs in with terrible fake IDs), means that it is often empty, because no one wants to dance with 18YOs. Upon arrival to the nearly empty bar/restaurant/club one of the guys in my group was turned away. The bouncer claimed that my friends crutches (since he had broken his ankle three days ago, and needed them to walk) were against the clubs dress code. Then when we informed the security guard that this is completely illegal to turn someone away from a restaurant for having crutches, the owner joined the conversation and changed the claims. The owner claimed that our friend was actually being turned away because he was wearing black joggers (a non baggy, fashionable type of sweat pant), because sweatpants are against dress code. The owner claimed that this was a rule put in place by the Ann Arbor police department, because guns could be hidden in sweats. He also said that my friend not being able to wear any other pants, due to the giant cast on his foot, did not excuse his apparent breaking of the dress code. In theory, being persistent about the enforcement of a dress code is pretty reasonable, except for the fact that this club was not even being consistent. Not only were both of the bouncers wearing sweatpants, but also another random guy dancing inside had similar joggers on. Overall, the owner was very discriminating against my friend with his injury, and completely disregarding of the fact that the bouncer revealed the owners sincere rules, that crutches are against the dress code. This establishment does not respect the american disabilities act, and the owner is the one enforcing it with manipulated rules.
I had a burrito which was yummy, but my boyfriend had a quesadilla and wasnt very satisfied. The cheese was rubbery and the steak was so fatty that he was pulling it from his teeth the whole time. The drinks were decent and a fair price. The chips and guac appetizer is overpriced as it didnt taste authentic at all and chips were hard and stale.
Taco Tuesday is great! Nice little place. Great food. Vegetarian and vegan options for most of their stuff, which is great! Can get a little packed at lunch time but their food comes out promptly and the staff is friendly.
On point and great portions! These guys had my order waiting for me on time and packed with everything I needed to help make my day full of trail walking easy peezy!
I was debating between 2-3 stars... we came in at around 5/6pm and our service sucked. Our food came our wrong then we constantly had to ask someone else for whatever we needed because our waiter wasnt ever stopping by. Food was super good, but thats about all that was good.
The Carnitas and Baja Shrimp tacos were good. I had a cocktail called Come as you are really good. Our waiter was super sweet.. We will be back.
Phenomenal food (locally sourced) and great staff during the day with a quality night life scene. Highly recommend for any time youre looking to eat some good food or party late night.
We love this place; it’s our go-to. Affordable and delicious food and frozen margaritas. Customer service has always been excellent as well!
Me and my wife had a great time the bar tenders was very nice and I had the best nachos ever! They actually layer there toppings and not just all on top!!! *****
Attended an event here that was very well done! Great space for moving around to chat with others. Tacos and drinks were good.
Beautiful tacos with slow cooked meats and mostly pickled veggies. $2.50 each on taco Tuesday, around 3-3.50 other days. Closed Sunday and Monday.
Great place for food and drinks. Personal favorite is the fajita quesadilla! My favorite night to go is Friday nights for dancing and drinks!
Great Margaritas, killer food (try more than just the tacos and youll be surprised) and on the weekends during school year this is definitely a popular spot.
Always a great time here. Usually busy enough to enjoy the crowd and sometimes its reallllly packed for when you really feel like a party
Fake Mexican food. Ive literally had better quesodillas at Taco Bell. The ONLY thing that was worth it - My $20 jar drink.
Some of the best Chicken tacos in Ann Arbor. The potato tacos are great as well. Not a fan of the steak tacos
Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and yummy tacos!
Always packed, and sometimes you cant even get in, but the burgers are great and the drinks are even better. Try some of their shots, itll be worth it.
BEST customer service ever!!! Excellent food! Will be back for sure!!! This restaurant deserves to be a five star!!
Love it here! Awesome food and super fun especially on weekends!
Great service and good selection for tacos fillings! Plus they offer a great vegetarian options.
The tacos used to be good, it used to be my favorite taco place. The quality has gone way down, probably due to popularity.
Fun atmosphere. Come with a large group or join one if you can.
The fishbowl drink is humongous lolGood music with live DJ
Food is great and the prices are fair. They also have good margs and beer.
I got a strawberry frozen margarita and it was delicious! Will definitely be back
Gets very busy at night. There is good music usually on Thursday and friday.
The eponymous burritos are kind of weak, they just dont have a lot of spice. Id stick to the quesadillas.
No one was there they charged 10 dollars. Scam
Pretty cool. Dj was awful. Music was lame, otherwise a good joint
Amazing time, great drinks and food, Keegan is the best server
The drinks were great, $1.00 bud lights on Tuesdays
Favorite Mexican restaurant in Ann Arbor, great vegetarian and vegan options too!
Food was great and the prices were affordable. Service was okay.
Mahi Tacos were amazing!!! Thank you they made my day!!!
I had.....too many drinks. Good time but... pace yourself folks
Not a big enough deal of a place to have a cover charge. Pretty good blended margarita
Drinks were fine great! Service was offensive and unprofessional
Excellent bar! It has definitely come a long way in the past year!
This place is really sketchy. Its dark and dirty. I havent been back. Just go to the BTB on South State Street
Great drinks, great music, and amaaaaazing quesadillas!
Fast service, great food, low prices.
Best wet burrito EVER!! Cant stop thinking about it!

Great food, best tacos in town!
Best verde salsa Ive ever had.
