Bridgett (ginger lady) is so lovely! I absolutely love chatting with her whenever I come in for my Dunhills. Shes always so sweet and kind and to be honest I only go there for her even though the Dunhills are a little pricey. Would give her my soul.
I understand not using certain lingo, I simplymentioned twice I was looking for a bday gift for a friend, after the second time mentioning, I was looking for a birthday gift for a friend, not even stating what that gift was, It could’ve been a T-shirt or a box of Vincent for all we know… I was told I’d either have to leave or they couldn’t sell me anything due to the fact that I was trying to buy a gift for a friend. I totally understand, but there’s no reason to be so rude about it. I’ve been a customer of OG for 20 plus years and the new management around all of the shops sucks. Spend your money else whereAlso,I was buying a T shirt.
Idk this place gotta burn some sage or somethin. Ive been to smoke shops all over America, where smoking is legal, illegal, anywhere in between. Look at my history and havent written a review a single time, never felt a need. My friend came in to town and dropped me off to get a piece for the flower vase we needed. Go in and am corrected on the terminology....dont call it that its a slider for my flower vase, okay respect legal language, she was clear it was a legal thing no problem doing her job. Didnt talk about smoking or anything like that so the tone was a little off but cool some places got their own terminology for legal purposes Ive been around used to that respect thatWhat was off putting about the tone though just not chill...it was way more corrective then the usual yeah I know is what it is right just the law vibe and much more a 2nd grade school teacher whos tired of the kid sniffing glue in the corner of the class saying stupid things vibe. So I kinda already felt a little weird but whatever we needed a piece for my set and they happened to have it, other stores did not. Maybe shes just not fully comfortable yet, maybe had a long day, maybe I was misreading her, maybe she has some anxiety about the thin grey line of legality around her job, maybe doesnt know herself and has yet to develop mindfulness in communication Im a pretty understanding guy didnt care again whateverDidnt have my ID so I couldnt buy what I wanted okay honest mistake was in my swim suit didnt have my wallet on me. Frankly other places in the city have sold the same item without one so just slipped my mind.... Im a 32 year old dude, tall, facial hair, frankly too run down to look anything close to 20...but fine. Again, shes doing her job. Can I show her my photo IDs through pictures on phone can cross refrence that w my google pay info? No, okay fine, shes just doing her job. Let me just get my friend who does have her ID and is literally 53 to go in that must surely be fine.Nope! She rejected my friend because what my friend wanted was what I wanted, despite my her having legal ID proving she was 53, because what? She thought a 32 year old was 12 and their grandma was trying to score for them? And that 6 foot tall bearded 12 year old also has masterfully manipulated photo images of candid photos of his ID he wanted to show her? Instead of just asking his grandma to go in first because he had a person willing to go in for him from the start? Her reason was I got 7 cameras on me, blah blah blah i can get into a lot of trouble. Given the situation....the person was my friend who came in immediately after me, I was eager to show her my ID on my phone and made an honest mistake, I went in first not my literal 53 year old friend with ID which would make no sense if there was any possibility of a problem in my mind, its incredibly delusional and although Im sure she was just defending herself legally in her head thats just a distraction from a need to learn how to communicate better, because it came off as vaguely confrontational from go of me not using the right word choice for north carolina.Maybe her boss will give her a sticker for doing what was tehnically right, or she was the boss, but at the end of the day, to reject a grown 50+ year old adult with legal ID because youre afraid they are getting a glass piece for someone who was literally dying to show you candid photo ID pictures/was in his swim trunks, even if youre a bit age blind, is just at somepoint not being able to self reflect and being stubborn. It was also essentially calling me a liar instead of it just being some inconvenient technicality. Maybe it wouldnt have felt like a weird power trip if they werent being delusional, paranoid, and weird from the first sentence we spoke getting practically upset about the wrong terms being used initially but it what it is. Cant recommend, super negative peopleBeing chastized like a 16 year old tryna get some whiskey at 32 and then chastizing my 53 year old friend is wild though. Dont go
I can’t express my gratitude enough for the help I was given by Molly at octopus garden. She helped prevent me from a serious slip and fall at the store by offering to walk me down the stairs after I had been in a medical crisisShe handled the situation with maturity kindness and compassion, preventing what could have been a disaster!Thank you molly !!! Thank you octopus you guys are the best you truly care about your customersThis was a couple months back but I remain grateful to this day
We were looking for the jeep ducks for my little and they didnt have any. But the lady there was so sweet and gave my little a sweet rock.
The reddish hair woman working there had a real nasty attitude, she wasn’t doing anything ..absolutely nothing and she seemed like annoyed that we were in her shop? How do places like this stay in business? Are people really willing to deal with this?so we decided to not shop there and take our business elsewhere. The gas station actually had better deals on stuff, the same stuff they were selling at the octopus garden.
I had such a great time in here!! Bridgett (the redhead girl) was extremely nice and very helpful!! She was extremely knowledgeable about all of the products that I had questions about and she answered everything that I asked her! This was my first OG experience and because of her, I will definitely be returning!!
Went in yesterday for a grinder and found my new favorite shop. Chris was extremely helpful and even kept me laughing the entire time I was in there. Decent selection of glass and electronics. Grinders were expensive but the guy had me sold on a new shredder
Red head woman is always rude and weird. Makes me avoid this location. I was the only person in the store and waited for her to come to me, she didnt. So when I asked she came over. Then I asked her whats the difference between the seahorse pro and pro plus, its the newer one like ok no way Sherlock you think? Shes got a stank attitude everytime for no reason at all.
Probably the best one I’ve been to. One of the employees Ashley is so freaking cool! She always takes good care of me. I recommend this location and the store in general. Also the rewards program kicks buns. Just about every visit I get money off or a bunch of points which helps get money off. Keep it up octopus.
Highly Recommend! The staff was kind, they asked what I needed and helped me make decisions and offered helpful advice. They gave me great ideas on how to improve my setup without pushing any sales. They pointed me in the direction of where I could find items they didnt have. Couldnt have been better!
Stopped in here from out of town and had a great time compared to other shops ive been in. They have quality pieces both local and big name. Im not sure the guys name that helped us, but he was awesome! Me and my gf were throuroughly pleased when we left. Most shops either dont know whats in their cases or they couldnt care less about helping anyone, but we got the direction and information we were looking for and both left with pieces that bring a smile to our face.
The cashier was very rude was laughing at the way we looked was very inappropriate and making rude remarks. She made us leave the store and was laughing running her mouth as we left. She was ginger colored hairI will never return!!!!!!
Products are GREAT, however service was unacceptable. First of all we stood outside in the cold waiting for the clerk about 30 minutes after it opened. There was a sign on the door that said be back in 5-10 minutes; I called the shop and the told the clerk (I think it was Rob) that I was waiting outside, to which he coldly replied, ‘ok’. About 10 more minutes later he appeared from the back of the store and unlocked the door. He saw us and didn’t say a word or ask us to come in or offer an explanation. Then he was like a brick wall as I asked about products-he was basically useless or high, I am not sure which one. I will not go back to this store.
Customer service is horrible. I stood at the counter awaiting assist to get something from the bck counter. The girl never came to the front she stayed in tbe bck until I said something then she says oh ur wanting to chk out no I needed the king palms she was so rude and unprofessional. Then she told me to have a better night. She was the problem with her rude unprofessional slf. Not spending money in there no more.
Customer service was fine, but they sent me 15 minutes to another store just to find a simple downstem. The point of having multiple stores is to service more customers, not keep some supply in one location and the rest of your inventory at another.
Out of all the octopus gardens in the area this one has the least amount in selection. If you need Kratom or a pipe youre fine but anything more technical like Quartz nail then youre better off going to one of the other locations (downtown or Patton Ave). The staff is super friendly and always very helpful. They are knowledable of their products and usually help you decide if youre one of those people who takes 20 min to decide (which is me). I gave 3 stars because of the limited inventory. Yall should lease out the store beside you and expand
Glass screens are way overpriced (just as everything else in the store seems to be)- not sure Ive ever been to a store that sells them for 2.50$ per piece! Truly a pathetic business model to rip off your customers. Never going back- I suggest that anyone who wants a fair price and good service should go to literally any other smoke shop in Asheville. Very dissapointed! I expected more of octopus garden.
I love this place. Great e-juice and other products. Ashley, Rev, Brent and Brenda (I know Im missing some people, Im sorry) are all amazing and knowledgeable and super nice. Best smoke shop in WNC.
Bought a battery here that didnt work, was unused, took it back and was told no exchanges or refunds. Extremely unreputable store
I love this place, every single staff member that Ive met is great they are always so helpful and friendly and help me as soon as I walk in the door and they pretty much always have what Im looking for.
Great headshop... wide variety of products!! And staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and great personalities!!! Visit several times a week, and enjoy it each time I go in!?
My experience here at Octopus Garden was amazing, huge shout out to Alex, she was very helpful!
Awesome employees..always have a smile on their face! Super friendly environment.
The people there are really nice to you and they are so helpful thats the only place I will go to
Always have what youre looking for, fantastic staff and an easy commute from Tennessee.
Good selection and prices. Cool staff and dog friendly.
Somewhat pricey but understandably for competition. Great staff friendly and helpful.
Great friendly place to find unique gifts
High prices for chinese glass. good selection, though.
