Solid restaurant for Peruvian food and a Latin American ambiance. I ordered the Mar y tierra, my mother ordered a dish that had the word “lomo” in it and my father had a salmon dish. All the dishes were delicious. The plates are expensive but you get bang for your buck. We also ordered a fried banana dessert, milk with rice, and a purple corn dish that were appetizing. The waitress was super nice and be prepared to speak Spanish! I meant it when I say it is a Latin American environment, but all around a great experience.

Ive only had Peruvian food once before at this great place now closed call Mango in St. Louis. This place, although not as swanky, exceeded my expectations. The bartender was a gem. Not only was her personality lively, but her knowledge of the menu was vast. Although not being Peruvian, she recommended the best dishes to try and they were all heaters. There is so much flavor in each dish I cant begin to describe how elated I was eating. The dessert was decadent and a nice finish to the whole experience. Also tried the Pisco Sour drink for the second time and it was made well, but not my particular taste.Definitely try this place out!

Best dining experience Ive had in a long time. The server/hostess was friendly, bubly and the most hard working girl I have seen, handling all 12 tables with spectacular service. Now, the food... oh the food. We started with the Papa a la Huancaina, which was easily the best appetizer Ive had. Followed by Lomo Saltado and Tallarines Verdes con Bistec. I have no words for how good these entrees are. I finished off the meal with their Tiramisu, not peruvian I know, but let me be happy. All in all I would recommend this restaurant to everyone bar none.

Im Peruvian and my daughter and I wanted to go eat some nice authentic food, when we came in the restaurant was hot! Almost humid there ac did not work and we asked if the manager knew and they said he did he just didn’t care. We let it be and we ate and the food was okay, our waiter was rude as well and the hospitality was not there at all. The fruit was warm too! Once we got the check we were stunned! They put a 20% “included gratuity” which we didn’t have an option to take off. I do not recommend coming here if you want good authentic Peruvian food I recommend the red llama or Rosario’s

Im sure there are a lot of us who have been wanting to try this place ever since Piscos closed back in 2006. The problem is that nobody knows what FOP restaurants take anymore. Can we pay with cash, a credit card, or a check? It drives me nuts when a server walks up with their handheld device and acts like we dont know what they are doing. So many times, its just me, and all I want is what some people will call a snack (a.k.a. tapas) and a tasty beverage. Everyone asks if you have a reservation, and if you dont and youre just one person, they want to sound the alarm and tell you, you can only sit for more than 30-45 minutes. Then, you finally get served, and you only have 15 minutes to inhale whatever is in front of you. Why is going out to eat anymore like a competition? I look at my receipt, and the server puts down six people. Maybe thats flattering to some people, but Im an average woman with an average build. I dont need you to put an auto gratuity while you are tapping on your handheld toast, your clover, your iPad, your iPhone, or so-called smart device. No wonder food trucks are here to stay. Its a lot of work for everyone involved. Please stop making it so hard on people and update your training manual to conform with what people want - just some good food and drink at fair prices. Thats it. Thats all.

We were visiting in Aurora CO from TX. We came to Pisco on 02/14 for Valentines dinner and I was really looking forward to this place due to the good reviews and good looking pictures of the food. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Although our server was excellent, it took over an hour for us to get our food. My kids fries came out cold and soggy and where in-turn refried and brought back to us. The rice on both my husbands and my plates were cold and my husbands steak was mostly fat. My plate although flavorful, had more french fries than anything. As for the kids menu, we ordered a Mac and Cheese, which I found overpriced at $8.00 and does not come with any sides or beverage. I usually like to take off my coat while at a restaurant to be more comfortable; however, the temperature inside this restaurant was so cold my family and I had to put our jackets/scarves back on and you could tell all the guests at the restaurant were cold. We felt bad for the server because she was really trying, it is so unfortunate that she has to deal with all the negatives of the restaurant.

I wish I could rate this place Negative 10 stars, Id do it immediately.First time, I went to this place and my wife and I were extremely disappointed. When we got in, the lady who was at the front desk/entrance didnt even say hello, welcome, her only questions was: Two?Next, we ordered a Ceviche Mixto and we can tell, thats not even close to it. We also ordered two other dishes and mine was awful, the stake was so salty, my wifes was as bad. Not sure, if this is the real taste everybody gets there or what was going on.On Top of that, prices are sooo high, they are skyrocketing. Price does not match the kind of food and service at all. Honestly, you can get way better service and food in several places around with even cheaper price.Honestly, were not going to that place again.I think the person who took care of us is Geraldine. I have tried Peruvian food in many places and unfortunately this place was my worst experience in food and customer service, it is a shame because the place is beautiful. The terrible “parihuela” came with 3 shrimp, the taste was ugly, the “Pescado a lo macho ” Very ugly, extremely expensive for what they serve! It is constructive criticism, because I could see the owner and she seems like a good person, I hope they can improve... We used to LOVE this place. We were here visiting and had the worst experience. They lost their liquor license. The plates lacked flavor and presentation. The chi cha morada tasted fermented. Being there a couple of times and the first time I gave it a try and the salsa from the pollo a la brasa was spoiled then I decided to give it a second chance and I had a bad experience, the ac was not working and it was really hot , the Yuka and the rice and the salsa was spoiled and had a odor , also the ceviche was really salty then when the owner came he didn’t even care about us telling him about our bad experience, we didn’t want anything for free but at least an apology .I know the economy is bad but you can’t charge 45 dollars as a gratuity without asking the customer, that has to be optional and the only good thing about today is that the waitress was nice and great service but I guess she don’t deserve to be working there . As a business owner you should take care of you temperature control and take care of the health of your customers and I’m 100 % you don’t follow protocol , just do the right thing and I’m sure you will have a successful business.

A waste of a date night and money served with a side of attitude… We ordered the Yucca en Salsa Rocoto. It was probably the best part of our meal. I ordered the Chicha Morada; and when I asked for a second serving, our server made it seem like it was such a bother. How dare I ask for a second serving? We waited for our food for well over an hour. When our food was ready for pick up by our server at the counter of the kitchen, our server just loomed over our food to take pictures. It was extremely discomforting to see her breathing over our food. Finally, when she decided to bring our food over, I found the ceviche to be extremely fishy tasting with an acrid taste. Speaking as a Peruvian, it was well below standard. My partner ordered the Fettucine al la Huacaina, and it tasted like straight up cream, no salt whatsoever. The whole experience was extremely underwhelming. Dine at your own risk.

If other people of African descent were not present, I would have thought I was in a pork roast for a local KKK rally. We were totally ignored after we ordered our entree, never even offered water. I keep thinking this place will be better but it isn’t. I have tried many different plates here but the disappointing pescado a lo macho confirmed that I won’t be coming back to this place. The fish should be covered with the sauce, not placed above the rice that’s above the sauce. Also the sauce should be thick, not of a liquid consistency. In the past I’ve had: The arroz chaufa (hard pieces of rice like if it wasnt cooked) and the fettuccine huancaina (that was lacking huancaina) and they both disappointed. Their pollo a la brasa isn’t bad, that may have been the best meal I had here. Customer service was all right, nothing extraordinary.

I was very excited to try this place but the food was pretty disappointing. I ordered anticuchos medium done and they were charred, they also only served 4 pieces of the meat (maybe one skewer worth) and the rest of the dish was tripe and two small slices of potato. I’m Peruvian and I’ve never seen tripe as a side to anticuchos, also the amount of actual meat is insulting for an $18 dish. The suspiro a la limeña is supposed to come with merengue on top but instead had small globs of whipped cream- it was good but did not taste like suspiro a la limeña. The aji de gallina was bland. The papa rellena was good; the salsa criolla it came with had big chunks of onion and tomato- they should be julienned and needed more lime. I do like that they have a lot of different creole Peruvian dishes which is exciting to see, so maybe some of their other dishes are better. Pisco sour- please do better with your portion sizes and offering truly authentic Peruvian dishes. I would love to have a good Peruvian restaurant in the area.

Today we made 2 orders online, in one everything is fine, but the seviche dish did not match the original! Photo attached! We have been to many Peruvian restaurants, talked with chefs and waiters, the most important thing in this dish, before serving raw fish, the fish should be marinated in lime and onion for 15 minutes, as this combination kills all bacteria in raw fish! Please look at the photo, you gave us just raw fish, without onions, where fresh onions are the most important thing in this dish, how could you do that?! Of course, we had to throw everything in the trash, since you can’t eat it, because you served raw fish cooked without technology! 👎👎👎

Our lomo saltado was everything than could be bad, the rice literally was NOT fresh or even “microwave it” correctly we could see some “hard” parts, the beef was very oily, the sauce in general didn’t have that ginger flavor it was just soy sauce and the fries… I don’t know if it was older than the rice but definitely hard to tell.3. The fettuccine with huancaina didn’t have enough huancaina for the pasta, we asked for medium cook meet and it was over cook/ burn we could feel the charcoal taste. The server was fine, attentive of course not her fault and nothing she can do, offer as a free dessert but we didn’t want to add more disappointment into our experience and just for that 2 starts.

When her and I went to leave a review we were stunned that at the time of this writing they only had 3.8 stars out of 5 but when you read the reviews all the negative ones are about the policy of the restaurant to automatically add a 20% gratuity (which is clearly printed in the menu). Wasnt very busy when we visited but the food still took a very long time. After they already had us waiting the waitress finally told us that there was a to-go order and supposedly thats what was taking so long. However, when I got my dish (Peruvian rotisserie chicken) it was luke-warm at best so who knows how long they had it sitting and waiting. We had to call over waitresses when we needed something, they did not check on us once. And when we did ask for a to-go box the waitress handed it to us while on the phone. The to-go cup we were given did not have a lid either.Yes, the tip is automatically included and I can only assume that was the reason for the sub-par service. They also do not mention this to you at all. I visited with my grandparents whose primary language is Spanish and they accidentally tipped extra on top of the 20% as they did not notice where it was printed on the menu. Considering the waitress and hotestess only spoke to us in Spanish, I would think it would have been a considerate thing for them to do if they had spoken up. The only thing I enjoyed from the meal was the spicy yellow sauce and the French fries. All in all, I do not recommend this place.

We were so disappointed on how expensive the plates were at this place. We spent around $105 and they added around $22 of tip without even asking, what??! I even asked the waitress who was a sweetheart and she said that’s obligatory. The causa was very sour and eatable. We all have an allergic reaction to shrimp when I told her about it, she said just take it off and you’ll be fine. So we literally wasted half the causa bc it has touched the shrimp. The pollo a la brasa was ok, tamal ok, ceviche was not that good, the sweet potato was not fully cooked. And yea, only half a hot dog for the kids salchipapas. We ended up spending approximately $150 for a mediocre Peruvian dinner. Place was empty…. Wish I could get refund.

Despite the number of negative reviews posted for this restaurant, a friend and I decided to give it a try to celebrate our birthdays. It was a very costly mistake (over a $120.00). The employees were polite and helpful. However, the calamari in the stew was too chewy to cut and chew. The fried calamari in the appetizer was also hard to chew and tasteless. The prosecco was too warm and there was not much of it for $12.95 per glass. The stew we ordered was bland. This restaurant also automatically includes a 20% tip to your bill. When the soccer game came on the big screen TV, it was too loud for us to chat with each other.I could not in good conscience recommend this restaurant.PJ

BEWARE! Unfortunately we chose the wrong place to enjoy a Peruvian meal for dinner, we were a party of 4, the service and food were terrible, be ready to wait a long time to receive your order, I’ve ordered a mild spicy ceviche, it was rather dull and spicy, my friend received her meals 30 min late, no one bother to let her know the kitchen would take that long, I’ve asked the waiter for napkins and she ignored us.We decided to leave, got a to go box ourselves and we inquiry about the poor service and the blonde lady rather walk away after charging a $25 automatic tip. Also it was quite hot inside the establishment, no A/C just ceiling fans, most of them not working properly,my suggestion is to take your money somewhere else, especially if you have kids, they’ll get bored rather fast from the long wait.Unwelcoming environment

The place looks nice on the outside, but not all that great on the inside. They had about 3 waiters when I went and it wasn’t even that totally busy and it took FOREVER for anyone to come to us after they served our meal which already took about 45mins to even come out. I couldn’t even get a refill on my water because none of the waiters came or looked our way. I don’t think 20% gratuity should be included with the kind of service or wait time for this place. We had to go up to close out our check or else we would’ve been there for another 30mins trying to get someone’s attention. The food was okay…at best some dishes side dishes okay and others were not. The lomo saltado meat was tough. The only good part was the rice in our other seafood dish and some of flavor was there, but I still would not consider this true authentic Peruvian food that is worth eating at this expensive price. They need to restructure and really look at how they are serving and doing business.

We were greeted and seated promptly. The food was delicious. Our only issue was there was 1 server in the entire restaurant. So, although she was pleasant and as attentive as she could be, we waited far too long to order, and for our food. There was no management on duty. We plan to return and give this another try. Hopefully, they will be better staffed.

Looked like a fine dining because of the white table cloths and the prices- $14 app and a minimum of $22 for an entrée. However, nothing else is fine. The bathroom doesnt even have a hand soap. The roll of paper towels was sitting on top of the machine. I got a $22 ceviche. The menu said its seabass, but what I had was not seabass. Every bite of the fish has a tendon that was not chewable and had to be spit out. My daughter ordered a $12 mac and cheese from the kids menu that came with no sides or drinks. It tasted ok - the noodles was dry, not enough sauce and cheese. We also had fried cheese and seafood in wonton wrap with avocado sauce. This was good. The bill includes 20% tip before tax which I did not mind.

Service was decent for a busy night; they were very accommodating. Atmosphere I’ll give a pass because it was a special night, it is a pretty place but looks like they didn’t even have the AC turned on.Food? Uh, I can make that lomo saltado at home. Causa was decent; again, I make a better salsa a la huancaina at home. Ceviche had NO flavor. Anticuchos lacked flavor. Ordered a papa rellena but it didn’t come because they were “out of potatoes”…Uh, what Peruvian restaurant runs out of POTATOES on Peruvian Independence Day???Chicha morada was just purple sugar.Alfajores barely had a whiff of powdered sugar, but the cookie was actually decently prepped and baked.Suspiro Limeño was a slap in the face of every grandmother who makes them. Custard had unmelted sugar and not a hint of being actual custard. The merengue was NOT merengue and there wasn’t a single drop of port wine ANYWHERE. It was WHIPPED CREAM. Let me say that again, they made or put whipped cream on a Suspiro Limeño. It’s either cheap or incompetent, because there is no way you prep that and NOT realise your merengue is not right.Look, I don’t expect Michelin Star food, but they can’t execute on the absolute basics of Peruvian food. So all of you gringos that go there and think it’s amazing, you should try actual Peruvian food that is well executed, because this ain’t it. And considering all of that feedback on the food; it’s beyond overpriced.Source: I am Peruvian/American; have been eating and making Peruvian food my entire life. I know what I’m talking about.

We ordered Pollo a la brasa, which didnt taste fresh, my son wasnt able to eat it and the fries were bad. The second dish we ordered was Anticuchos, which looked like if they took it out of the fridge and then microwaved it. They were served cold, and we requested to reheat it. To my surprise, they came having a strong lemon flavor, to what we complained. The manager just took them out of our table and she didnt charge us.The service is bad, there are some waitress that looked like they were doing a nice job but ours was rude. I asked to spoke with a manager to let her know about this and she did not even apologized. She looked at me like I was being petty about my food but I think anyone would be expecting better quality if paying 20 dollars or more for each plate. She said she was going to give us a discount and it was a total of $8. It used to be an excellent restaurant to eat, but not anymore. I ordered ceviche, and the camote and potatoes in the ceviche were not fresh. Anticuchos also taste old. It appears that they only microwave the anticuchos. In addition, They no longer carry draft beers or Peruvian beers and no refill for sodas. The service was barely okay. I ordered the appetizer and main course, which arrived first, then the appetizer. And they have a mandatory 20% tip policy included in the bill. I dont recommend it.I gave a second chance to this location, and it is still the same. I am okay with paying 20% in a tip, but when the server knows they will already get an automatic tip, the customer service is compromised. I asked for a cold glass to my waitress for my beer, and she mentioned to me that there were no more glasses in the entire restaurant. I ordered two pisco sours, and the waitress brought two half-empty glasses. It appears that the waitress prepared one drink and divided it in two. We never received a menu until we asked for one. I paid over 100 dollars for two beers, two half glasses of pisco sour, a lomo saltado, and a ceviche.

Was hopeful for great Peruvian food close to home. What I found was good service, but terrible food. $100 later after 1 Pisco Sour, 1 Juice, 1 appetizer (ceviche), and 1/2 chicken to share. Beyond pricey for mediocre food at best. The ceviche possibly was the worst quality fish I have ever had. The pieces were gigantic, with more connective tissue than meat. It’s no wonder they didn’t bother with neither the presentation nor the 2”x2” pieces of fish. I am guessing the fish couldn’t be cut with a knife. The chicken was way over cooked and dry/boarder line rubbery. I would equate it to reheated rotisserie chicken in the microwave for 10 minutes. The French fries were okay, but I guess we could’ve gone to In n Out if I wanted to rely on fries as my meal.Atmosphere was like eating inside of an oven. The restaurant was 100° inside with ceiling fans circulating hot air. No AC in the middle of a Colorado summer. We should’ve taken that as the first hint to leave. Personally, I would not recommend this restaurant. Anybody who has had great Peruvian food knows what to expect and this was an extraordinary disappointment.

Came in here one night while my son was at Wednesday night church group. Restaurant is nice inside, and it wasn’t busy. Our server was polite; not friendly but polite. We reviewed the menu, and I asked what she would recommend if I wanted a ‘beef’ meal. She gave me her recommendations, and I ordered one. She came back to the table a bit later and said they couldn’t prepare that meal because they didn’t have the necessary ingredients. I ordered a second meal and was told the same thing. Why recommend meals you can’t prepare. I finally settled on something else. It took over 50 minutes for our food to come out. We had to pick up our son at this point, so we really didn’t have time to eat.Now comes the really shocking part. Our two meals were $18 and $19. $37 total right? We got our bill and it was about $60. The server had an electronic tablet of some kind and had no idea how to work it. We asked how our bill was so much, and she had no idea. We kept explaining that it should be less than $40 before tax and tip. She basically just kept saying ‘I don’t know’ and asked us to pay. We asked her to ask someone else and she was extremely reluctant. When she finally came back, whoever had helped her had just made the bill a flat $40 (before tax and tip, still too high). We had to leave immediately to get our son so we just paid and left. I would not come back here again. They have no idea what they are doing, and the food, while decent, was not worth waiting an hour for it to come out, and then the hassle of trying to haggle our bill.

I hate to leave bad reviews but after what we paid and reading other reviews (should’ve read beforehand), it seems like it’s not an isolated bad experience. I ordered a seafood tacu tacu. The seafood was overcooked and chewy, the rice was mushy, not just wet, it was mushy as if it was the 3rd time they are heating it up so it’s close to rice pudding consistency. The whole thing just felt reheated. Then I tried a shrimp and it was bad (I should mention that I eat every possible sea creature alive so no, it didn’t just taste fishy, it was bad) It turned my stomach so I couldn’t keep eating. My boyfriend ordered the leche de tigre trio and it had deep fried calamari and fish, it was so overfried it was like eating chips. My cocktail was $16, barely tasted the alcohol. And yes the food is expensive and my plate was barely touched. Service was good.

The Lomo and food was alright. However, the quality does not match the price or quantity. It was overpriced in my assessment. The portions were rather small and lacking in flavor. The appetizers were tiny. They also overcharged us for a messed up order (which they messed up after we asked prior to the order if that was an option-and at first they wanted to charge extra for the mild modification!) and I was baffled when we ordered a dessert to share and they said they could only give us 1(ONE) spoon, as it was a singular (individual) dessert- in other words, they wanted us to spend more when we couldn’t eat more and this was a trial run for us at the restaurant to taste their food more than anything . First impressions are everything and I was mostly taken aback by the mistakes, the up-charge and the dessert situation. Has potential to be great but is lacking vision and costumer service. I wish them well.

But we ordered several different dishes that were good but not excellent for the price.Clearly the server is not happy there. She was not that helpful frankly she was a deterrent to the experience. She did not come around often enough and with a smile to check and see what else she could bring. She did serve the food hot and on time. But I did not feel welcome there do to her demeanor..What bothers me the most is the food is outrageously expensive. The fried yuca with hot sauce were not freshly cut but a frozen mashed concoction breaded and fried. The other thing is that Im not sure when theyre going to correct that air-conditioning but I would never allow my guests to come into a place like that the temperature is 85 or 90. All told the meal cost $27 per person, even though most dishes average at $17.I will give credit for the fact that the owner is very nice and friendly and conversational. All in all on a scale of 1 to 5 the experience flavor of the food, service, and an oversized room that was actually quite dark, I give it a 1.For the amount of money that we spent we could have gone to an air-conditioned place with very yummy fresh hot food with a smile and an ambiance that made you feel good about being there.

Great Peruvian restaurant! I went with friends for a happy hour and had some traditional dishes. They were very yummy. Its a little pricey, but well worth if you order and share like family style. Parking is tough because its a very popular shopping center. I would recommend it if you are looking to try some international cuisine.

Fantastic food! I tried a number of different appetizers and entrees; all were good, particularly the entrees. Im not normally a fan of pisco sour drinks, but this restaurants version is delicious. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Interior decor is comfortable and more up-scale. I have recommended this restaurant to everyone I know who lives in the area.

Food is good, service is good, and the fresh Guava juice was fanTAStic. The meats all seemed slightly overcooked. It was not to the point where the dishes were ruined, but still, overdone. Everything else was perfectly delicious. Our tamale appetizer was perfection, too. Overall, Id recommend trying the place.

I lived in Peru for over 10 years. My Peruvian mother in law taught me to cook, so I have made this cuisine myself and I love it. Now, I understand that food cooked here isnt going to taste the same because the ingredients here just arent as fresh, and some ingredients are hard to come by. But Im guessing the chef is not Peruvian and has never tried Peruvian food. The Pisco Sour was small and had mostly egg foam (as in the tiny glass had maaaybe 1/4 of it as liquid you could actually drink) and whatever it was, it didnt taste like Pisco Sour. No bite of alcohol or lime juice. And it was thick, almost gelatinous. Its not supposed to be. We were served Tequeños without the avocado the menu promised, and when I requested some, first I was told it doesnt come with that, then when I pointed out that the menu said it would come with it, we were served a hot sauce with a small amount of avocado blended into it. Just enough to make the sauce look vaguely like it had avocado in it. The asado was decent, although it could have been yummier if it had been served with a bit of the juice/sauce that it customarily comes with. But then a cockroach climbed onto the table right next to me. Never going back. Very sad. Peruvian food is awesome. This place did NOT do it justice. This is the first time I have ever posted a negative review for anything.

Stay Away!!This place is horrible! The service sucks, as the waitress never checks on you, and when she does she has a bad attitude. The food is disgusting. Our Arroz con Pollo was soooo bad! The chicken was cold, the rice was extremely, hard and dry. It looked and tasted days old. They only had iced tea and Sprite. They didn’t know the difference between Coke, and Pepsi products. There’s more to write, but bottom line please stay away! There was nobody in there when we got there, so that should tell you something. We asked for the manager Mr Castillo, but was told he wasn’t there. Never again!!

There were only 3 ocuppied tables when we arrived but the service was SLOW (it took us 15 minutes to get 1 soda and 1 Iced tea, and another 15 minutes to get 2 equal packets) and the wait staff is super RUDE. It is really too bad because I thought the food was delicious. This was my first time having Peruvian food so I guess I will have to find a different Peruvian restaurant to frequent.

Food was great, service is slow but worth the taste. Main complaint is big ego of waiter. We kept getting reprimanded by the waiter. Person sat at end of table, please move back. Forgot to put a dish in, our fault because he double checked our order with us. Walked up to bar to ask to please refill water- please don’t approach the bar. Then reading other reviews I’m realizing I also likely double tipped because they automatically add tip (okay that’s my fault for not carefully reading bill)

My mom and I went out to eat here yesterday and it was an awful experience. We were rudely greeted, given menus that looked like they were barely hanging together, and then they started testing the sound system. They started blasting music so loudly that we had to cover our ears. It was inappropriate and rude to blast music in the middle of people ordering lunch. Since they wouldnt stop blasting music, we left and went to eat elsewhere. We will not be coming back here. This is the worst Peruvian restaurant Ive ever been to in my life.

Im originally from Peru and travel often within the US.As a big fan of our cuisine I cant wait to try the local restaurants whenever Im in a new city.Yesterday I decided to give Pisco Sour restaurant in Aurora, CO a try and I was very disappointed.I ordered a Ceviche Mixto and a Ají de Gallina. The aji de gallina didnt have much flavor and I ate it only because I was hungry; But the real disappointment was the ceviche. The fish and seafood mix tasted old and mushy but the surprise was to find a big potato under the fish and onions. Ive never encountered a potato in a peruvian ceviche in my 50 years eating peruvian food. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the great service I got from the waitress/hostess (Ms Mendes). She was very professional and friendly.I would stay clear of this place, specially if you are Peruvian.

Not even 1 star. Food was good tho but the service was totally a bad experience. Renato took care of me but he was super distracted all the time. Also he didnt know how to explain to me about the menu because he charged me full price on one of the dishes when i wanted the happy hour one. He was very, very rude and and mean. He thinks that because he is the owners brother he thinks he can do whatever he want. Honestly, wouldnt recommend this place to any of my friends. Also it was very weird that once we got there he told me that he will charge me 25% tip just because i came from Vail and he was scared to get infected. Like what is that even mean? This should have people that really want to do the job right not like Renato that was a total disaster as a server. Never again.

The food was good as were the Pisco Sour drinks. But after our initial drink and food orders were done, the service was beyond poor. We were left alone for nearly a hour and checked on just once and our additional drink order was forgotten. One table of six seemed to get all of the attention while our table of four that had arrived before them was ignored. While the waiter was very jovial when we did see him, such poor service will not make us want to return. Which is a shame as we really wanted to like this place.

This is an updated review from 3 years ago (leaving my old review below for reference)My wife and kids decided to give this place another shot since they moved to a new location since we last ate there. I am keeping my 1 star rating for the following reasons. The place did not have air conditioning, the staff told us it broke a couple of weeks ago, and all they did is keep the ceiling fans running and some dehumidifiers running. The temperature was really warm inside the restaurant (like 80 degrees or so), they didnt open windows or doors to keep fresh air coming. As a result, the tables were sticky and gave you an impression they were not cleaned (maybe they were), my ceviche was served at room temperature, which means that it was warm, the flavors were just ok, me being from Peru i would say at par with a 10 soles menu item (nothing special), we also ordered papá a la huancaina , yukas, Lomo Saltado, and kids meals. The pisco sour was a bit too sweet and they used the blender, I was seriously expecting at least the pisco sour made with a shaker and have a more sophisticated flavor due to the restaurants name sake. Also, they add 20% gratuity automatically , not a big deal, but you gotta just be aware of that. Again , overall experience 1 star. I can say, I will not give them a 3rd chance. If you leave in Denver or north Denver, you really have to try Rosarios in Longmont. That place is legit!!Review from 3 years ago.The customer service is just tolerable. The food does not have good quality ingredients and you can certainly taste such low quality. The flavors and seasoning are subpar in comparison to authentic Peruvian food. One time I was having a drink at the bar and the bartender messed up a drink order for another client in the dining area, the waitress made him aware of it and the bartender just mixed the correct flavor on top of the wrong one rather than making a new one from scratch. I wonder what would they do if your food order is wrong ?

This is the best authentic Peruvian food in town. My wife is Peruvian and this is the only restaurant in the Denver area she trusts to get the food right. Weve been many times, and always receive top notch service from the friendly staff. Also of note, they are great about customizing the menu for vegetarians, making this a great vegetarian option. Cant recommend this place enough, every plate is delicious and they have Lucuma ice cream!I saw some of the reviews below mentioning lack of Covid guidelines, but I was just there today and everybody was wearing masks, social distancing, and following guidelines.

My wife & I were so excited to experience Pisco Sour!! We were hoping to have a wonderful dining experience. We went for lunch. The actual cocktail Pisco Sours were fantastic!! Absolutely loved them!! Super tasty & frothy. I recommend them to everyone!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟The Chicha Morada was good but I dont recommend serving it with a lime wedge and dial back just a bit on the sugar. 🌟🌟🌟The chicken soup that came with our meals was excellent!! It was so flavorful & hearty. Definitely worth ordering! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Sadly, those were the only things that were excellent. Everything else was either good, not so good or cold.Frejol con Seco de res was good. The beans were awesome. I couldve had those alone and been super happy! The seco de res left much to be desired and was cold. The flavor profile didnt quite hit the mark. 🌟🌟🌟Pollo a la brassa was good but again, it left more to be desired. We ordered dark meat so thats where our disappointment came. It was good but the spices in the chicken didnt quite pop like we hoped. 🌟🌟🌟Asado con arroz came out cold so it was really disappointing. The beef tasted good but the fact that they didnt include pure (Peruvian mashed potatoes) was a real let down. Instead they had a fried stuffed potato product with an unusual filling. Not a fan of that at all. 🌟🌟Papa a la huancaina was ok. If youve never had it than youll enjoy it. Being a big fan, this one came up short. 🌟🌟Anticuchos de res was good but only 2 skewers?!?!? Come on!! There should have been more fried potato medallions as well. I love Anticuchos and this one hurt...a lot!! 🌟🌟Now, for the major let downs.....Lomo Saltado...the signature Peruvian dish. Everything looked brilliant!! I couldnt wait to sink my teeth into it. Sadly, the stir fry dish wasnt very good. It tasted like a cheap knock off. They used soy sauce to cook it. Very noticeable and not very good. I was so bummed after 3 bites thinking it will get bettter...it didnt. Again, first time trying it, you may love it. It wasnt authentic Limeño Lomo Saltado. I REALLY hope they change that recipe. 🌟Lastly, my wifes absolute favorite dish in the entire world Tallarin Verde con bistek. The steak was awesome! It had the perfect char!!! Very yummy. The green spaghetti was flat-out bad!! Not good at all. It didnt even look good when the server was bringing it to the table. 🌟In fairness, the menu did state a Pesto pasta. Well, if thats the case, dont call it Tallarin Verde. Ill go to Olive Garden for a better Pesto pasta. I cant picture a Peruvian trying that dish and loving it.All of the creams or the aji were bland or mayonnaise heavy. 🌟Man, what a let down. Lunch prices were great. Portion sizes were appropriate. We noticed how dead the restaurant was for lunch. Maybe it was an anomaly. It was a Wednesday lunch after all. However, IMHO, that place would be packed if the 4 key authentic Peruvian dishes were better...Papa a la huancainaPollo a la brassaLomo SaltadoTallarin Verde (this one needs to be completely redone)The server was sweet and helpful. The ambiance was alright. There is a lot of focus on the night club side of the business. As a Peruvian American, we were very glad we came and tried it. We would not recommend it. If we were nearby, we definitely stop in for cocktails but probably stay away from ordering food.

Absolutely one of the worst experiences ever! Not only was the food and service bad they even stole my money. Apparently they have instituted a mandatory 20% tip policy for parties of 5 or more, which is not displayed anywhere in the restaurant. When I questioned this policy, the answer I received was that it was known and not written anywhere and it is what it is...NO integrity!!!Now onto the food...we ordered 3 Lomo Saltado, pollo de gallina and deep fried tilapia. The lomo saltados were served cold and the rice was at least a day old. When we let the waiter know he did not really understand us, so we just asked for new rice and shockingly he brought us a new plate of the same rice. Which also took almost 10 minutes. The fish came with fries and yuca the fish lacked any flavor and the yuca must have also been at least a day or two old. The pollo was mushy and seemed to have been stewing for a very long time and shocker old rice!!!Getting poorly prepared food is one thing but the unethical practice of a mandatory 20% with NO communication is absolutely unacceptable !

Ive had Peruvian food all over the US and this is probably the worst Ive had.The service was extremely slow. We ordered appetizers and our waitress went to dry glasses for ten minutes before we could flag her down to order our food.I ordered a beef stew which came with three tiny pieces of dry beef and about an entire can of beans. I asked the manager about the portion and he essentially said thats how they make it in peru and that the restaurant cant give big portions since they have a large venue...My girlfriend got a shrimp chowder. When we got it, we didnt even think it was her dish because all that was in it was two soggy pieces of fried fish and an unshelled shrimp. The menu promised scallops, mussels, clams, squid, and it contained none of that. She had to run to the bathroom about five minutes after eating it because her stomach started hurting, probably from old seafood. The bathroom had no toilet paper, soap or paper towels. When we asked the manager about all the missing ingredients, he said he couldnt tell because she had eaten so much of it (she had had about 5 bites). But he also admitted the STOCK was allegedly made of these ingredients, and after sifting though her dish Im pretty sure they listed those ingredients on the menu only because they were in the stock. Its clear that this restaurant is desperately cutting corners to make their dishes as cheap as possible. I really wanted the manager to consider improving the quality of the food, but he didnt seem to care too much. Im sure the place will only be getting worse from now on so Id recommend passing on the restaurant.

Service was not good and our server sat at a table in plan sight of his guests eating food instead of checking on us. There was about 5 total tables. Not like they are overly busy you would think they would want to wow the guests they have. He cleaned off our plates and asked if all was okay at that time. Didnt ask of we wanted anything else and then we wait for him to go have a few more bites of his food. I looked over the bill and when he came back for payment I asked why gratuity was automatic 20% and why we were not told about it, I got we work very hard and the computer adds, nothing he can do. Why I probably would have given 20% I do not appreciate it being decided for me on a party of 2. I think its important to maintain CDC protocols in place to be able to have a healthy environment for clients and employees in general. This way, restaurants can remain opened. Having said this, i will not come back to the restaurant any time soon although its food is good.
