She cares about the health of your hair. I received numerous compliments on my hair. She is my go-to when in the B.R. area.

Chikita is a Professional Stylist that not only has my hair looking good but also keeps it healthy with the products she uses.And the best part is she is timely. She doesnt overbook and gets you in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

Ive been going to Chikita for a few years now and my hair has been better for it. After her visits, I feel like a new person! I get so many compliments on my hair after she works her magic. Chikita truly has growing hands and prioritizes keeping your healthy just as much as it looking good. Her salon is close to a major interstate, quiet, and very relaxing. A trip to Chikita is truly a hair investment.

Update- After reading the owner’s passive aggressive response, I am even less satisfied with this business. I have no issues with reading policies- I have issues with unsatisfactory services and practices. I refuse to address the owner’s response in detail, as their abdication of personal responsibility is evident. As such, I will not dignify it with a direct response.I came to this salon twice as an undergraduate student in the area. It was relatively convenient to book an appointment that was not too far out, so I decided to give this stylist two chances.First, the actual silk press was okay. At the time, the price was between $50-75 dollars. I went in expecting to only pay the amount that was advertised. I thought it was strange that the stylist kept asking me if I wanted services that usually goes with the style. I distinctly remember her using a strong peppermint product, and at the end of my service, I paid at least $150. At absolutely no point were extra charges mentioned, and nothing special (like a steam or masking treatment) was done to my hair. Her overcharging a first-time client she 100% knew was in college (no student discount like some other places) should have been the second red flag for me.The first red flag had to be scheduling itself. Her StyleSeat calendar did NOT match her actual availability. I understood being rescheduled for a pressing family matter she had. However, she went great lengths to explain how “exhausted” she was and tried to get me to reschedule an appointment that was 1)convenient for me and was 2)listed as open in her calendar. As a business owner, it is to be expected that your advertised availability be changed as needed to reflect your actual schedule.Lastly, she very obviously messed up a simple split dye. I showed her a reference picture, and my hair is very easy to work with, so there should have been no issue. She did not part my hair correctly, and misapplied the color. She tried to cover up her mistake instead of offering to fix it. I noticed both the very noticeable error and was again overcharged for the service.I have been to many stylists who have had no issue preforming any style or color treatments on my hair. If a stylist was ever uncomfortable with something, they stated that and did not do the style. Or, at the very least, they did not charge me for any unsatisfactory service. Instead of doing either of the previously mentioned things, she instead “strongly suggested” I come in WEEKLY for very expensive protein treatments.To be overcharged twice and not receive the service I wanted made me never go back to this shop. I felt obligated to give her the benefit of the doubt and leave a good review after my first visit, but it was not a completely honest review.For any stylist, make sure they are 1)adhering to the prices as listed and 2)know what they are doing with your hair. Advocate for yourself always.

I am new to town. I was reading reviews when I found this salon. I sent a message in the middle of the night. I hoped that the stylist would wrote back. I walked into the salon and I instantly felt like I was back home. I was prepared to book my next appointment way before the appointment was over. I can’t wait for this new hair journey.

I love my starter locs Ms. Queen worked her magic and got me right!! Love the warm hospitality, professionalism,and the laid back atmosphere of the salon. Beauty Queens Hair Salon did an amazing job with my natural hair. My hair was so dry now it’s so shiny and moisturized. She also gave me some tips on how to keep my hair moisturized. Queen is a true talent, an artist and a professional. I was in need of a stylist in an emergency and not only did Queen make efforts to accommodate me, she did a spectacular job! She did a relaxer, semi-permanent color, and trim. Her styling drew so many compliments on my new look, including from my husband, and I really enjoyed my time at the salon. I needed a relaxer retouch as I had taken out braids. My hair was a mess. Having sensitive scalp and always burn easily I was prepared to get the worst burns ever. I must say this is the first relaxer I have had in a while and received NO burns. My hair now looks awesome and I am a happy customer. Will definitely be going back !!!!

First let me talk about her PROFESSIONALISM she was very very professional, studio was clean and smelled so nice. We had a very good conversation, positive conversation. She didnt rush washing my hair, she took her time and used the products I brought and used them in order step by step. When she washed my hair I WAS HEAVEN😂. She messaged my scalp and scratched it so well!!!! She also explained to me about my scalp and why I had so much of dandruff. She said she wants me to come to her on a regular to maintain the dandruff is what I really need out of my head. I have been going to stylist that DO NOT CARE about my scalp or hair. They only slayed my wigs & didnt CARE ABOUT MY HAIIIRRRR😣. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH HOW MY HAIR CAME OUT & THE BREATHE OF FRESH AIR BLOWING ON MY SCALP!!!!!! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK🙂

I just moved to Baton Rouge from Houston, and I was in dire need of a new stylist. After calling several stylists to no avail, I found Mrs. Chikita and Beauty Queens Salon, and it has been match made in heaven ever since! I got a shampoo, scalp exfoliator, and roller set for $55 ... you can not beat that price! I also prefer stylists who specialize in healthy hair, and Mrs. Chikita does just that. If you’re new to the area, don’t even bother calling other stylists, go straight to Beauty Queens!! You won’t be disappointed!

First of all, she did this last minute on a SUNDAY! I never write reviews but this one is very deserving. She treated my daughter like a queen! Asked her how her personality was and what she wanted. She took the time to really listen to her desired look and gave great advice and suggestion on what she should do. In the end she did amazing . She has gained two new permanent customers.

I haven’t visited a salon in years. Having to quarantine for months...I felt the need for some self care but was a little reluctant because of COVID. However, I heard some really great things about this salon and decided to give it a try and boy was I glad I made that decision. The environment and stylist was so welcoming.
