Birmingham Wellness Massage - Homewood, AL

I went here for a 90-minute full body massage with Jevashia. The environment is very simple and no frills. The massage room was dark and peaceful and she had an Alexa play relaxing music. I felt stressed at times in the massage due to a repetitive left knee injury, but she reassured me she wouldn’t push me too hard. She also works for UAB Spain Wallace Rehab center so that was comforting too. There were times when I could hear people checking out or coming in and that was possibly the only irritating part of the visit, but we were in the front room so I’m not sure it could be avoided. Overall at the end of the massage, I was very relaxed. I felt very calm and appreciative and I definitely plan to come back.

Came in today due to some severe tightness and fatigue causing pain. I was able to get in same day, fast, and for 90 minutes. Andy Bostany is your guy. He is very respectful, knowledgeable, and focused on areas no other massage therapist had ever pointed out as problem areas before. I highly recommend Andy. Already booked for my second session in a month!

I have been going to Andy Bostany for months and he is the best massage therapist I’ve ever been to (and I’ve tried many!). His deep tissue massages are incredible. He clearly pays attention to any issues you tell him about prior to starting and is very thoughtful in adjusting his massage techniques accordingly. I always leave feeling like a brand new person and have never been disappointed!

I had the best massage experience with Andy. He was extremely knowledgeable and gifted. He listened to my conditions and knew exactly what to do., I came because of a recent pull/sprain in my back and he spent a lot of time relieving the tension I had built up, and worked out any problem areas. I was experiencing pain before with turning my head and that pain left after his treatment. I’ll certainly be back and highly recommend his expertise.

1st time visit with Shay Doss, & many more to come. Friendly, professional, and comforting. She found problem areas i couldn’t even explain. Consistency is key, so don’t doubt the process! If you need help just come to Shay, she’ll get you rite!

I had Shai today and I really appreciated her skill and the atmosphere she provided. I came for pain relief but also wanted as much relaxation as possible. She spoke softly and respected my wishes to not chat during the massage. However, she still checked in for pressure, which I liked. Her pressure was just right for my soreness. I am so relaxed after the session and cannot wait to visit again. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough. Will definitely be scheduling a super extended one next time!

I have had several excellent experiences here. I love that they ask what your desire for conversation is on their chart. I’ve enjoyed the flexibility of being able to get in next day. I have tried several therapists and really enjoyed each one of them. Definitely an awesome place!

It was my first time getting a professional massage and Shai made me comfortable with everything. I had sore legs from running and she spent a lot of time focusing there to help with recovery. It was very relaxing overall.

Wonderful place to get a massage. I heard about Birmingham Wellness Massage through the Faith Igniting Young Adults (FIYA) Conference at Dayspring Church in Pelham. I highly recommend Birmingham Wellness Massage. They are highly professional and offer a variety of excellent services. They also have memberships! They had a form to assess my needs and how I was feeling including how much talking I wanted to do during my massage. RaVonda was amazing definitely recommend!! I’m for sure coming back. She worked on all of my knots all over and did a great job. She was so easy going and very genuine especially about my nut allergies and was very cautious about what was in all of the oils/creams. 10/10

Highly recommend Birmingham Wellness Massage! I have been going for almost a year now and I have been to two locations - Hoover and Birmingham - and both are great. I schedule my monthly appointments with Anne Lofton at the Birmingham location and she is the best! Shes incredibly personable and professional, I always leave feeling so calm and renewed. The rooms are very peaceful at baseline but on top of that, everyone is so considerate and they will always ask what they can change to make the atmosphere more comfortable for you. Its only ever been a positive experience for me and I always recommend this company to anyone looking for massages.

I recently had the most wonderful session with Shay. She has worked on me in the past and it’s definitely been a while since I last saw her. To not have seen her in quite some time with a short description of my problem areas she quickly picked up on what I needed. She asked certain questions during the session to make sure I was always comfortable and making sure certain techniques were actually reliving the pain areas. She shared a few tips for things I can do during my day just to improve and help with some of the pain I have. I can definitely tell that she cares about the overall health of her clients. 10/10 would recommend and I can’t wait to book my next session.

Absolutely amazing service! Andy and Austin were very personable and were extremely attentive to my aunt’s and my needs. I received a deep tissue massage from Andy, who did a wonderful job at helping to relieve my neck pain and provided an overall helpful and great massage. Afterwards, they recommended and demonstrated some stretches for us to do at home on our own time, and they provided some tips to help deal with the soreness. Our experience was delightful, and I would love to come back here!

Shia was very helpful, I always suffer from pain on my back and she was able to help me with it. I will definitely be coming back.

Shia’ was amazing. First of all I am a big guy which causes therapist to have to work extra hard. I came in with some specific trigger points and she went to work. She has a very soft spoken calming presence and you can tell she really cares about the people she is helping. I have had hundreds of massages through the years but this was one of the best.

I did a stretch massage with Andy and it was amazing. He openly discussed what he was noticing and assessed areas of weakness and how to address them. I will definitely be back and feel very comfortable referring him to others.

I’ve had an amazing experience every single time visiting the wellness center!! Massage therapist Sha Doss is absolutely phenomenal!! She paid great attention to my needs and handled me with care!! I used to suffer from migraine headaches and since starting massage therapy I haven’t had a migraine in over 3 years and I no longer take prescription meds. Jonathan is truly been the best during my post-op lymphatic massage process. He is informative, answers all questions you have, insightful and gives the best tips and advice on how to make sure you receive optimal results. By week 5, all lymph was completely gone after following his guidance. He never made me feel as though he was selling me something, instead it always felt like he truly cared about his clients and my results mattered to him. Also, he follows your lead meaning if you don’t want to talk as much during your massage, he respects that but once you open up to him, he is truly a hilarious guy who has multiple stories to keep you entertained during your time with him. I have been dealing with neck pain on and off for about 3-4 weeks. I finally woke up last Saturday and decided I couldnt deal with the pain anymore. Birmingham Wellness Massage was the first place Google led me. I was able to book a massage with Shay for 45 min. She was phenomenal. She helped not only release some of the pain, but also re-train my body/muscles to go back to their normal position. She also gave me some tips to continue treatment at home. She was just a delightful person to work with and Im so blessed to have found her. I will definitely go back. Thank you!

Very calming, relaxing atmosphere. I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and autism related sensory issues and Andy was very accommodating and made sure I was as comfortable as possible.

Rod was AMAZING & I will absolutely be returning for future massages. He was friendly, funny & able to pinpoint & relieve my pain with very little direction. I was late (almost 30 minutes) & he went into his lunch break to make sure I was properly cared for which was incredibly kind & thoughtful of him. Hes experienced & great at his job & I cant recommend him or this place enough.

Shai was amazing! she really listened to me and was accommodating to my needs. I had certain areas of my back that were hurting more than others, and she went out of her way to spend more time on those areas. she checked in several times to make sure the pressure was what i was comfortable with. i’ll definitely be back!

Andy helped release a pulled muscle in my lower back I had been dealing with for a couple months. After setting a chiropractor (who made it worse) and a medical doctor, my only relief was working with Andy ONCE! I plan to extend my services with him monthly and I can not wait. Andy has a caring, trusting, and understanding presence that allows for a truly relaxed experience. Highly recommended

I came in on last week for post op lymphatic massages. I did try 2 locations:Hoover location first and then the Homewood location second. I had 2 red flags which were enough for me at BOTH locations. The main red flag, they didn’t use gloves. When I was at the Hoover location,I mentioned to the massage therapist to have gloves and she said she had to “go find some”. Find?!!? If you’re doing a post op lymphatic massage on patients who have surgical incision sites that aren’t closed, gloves should be a MUST and already available. The same thing for the Homewood location. As a Registered Nurse, that was a huge red flag.Another red flag is the sheets didn’t look clean enough for me, so as a post op patient from surgery, I had to request a protective pad be put down because once again, I have incision sites that weren’t completely closed. I was not even draining but the risk of infection with those sheets were high. There was a stain and hair on the sheets. SmhIf you’re looking for post op massages from a surgical procedure, this is NOT the place to go. This chain seems better for regular massages, definitely NOT post op lymphatic massages. I will NOT be back.

Paisley gave me the best, most effective massage I have ever had! She allowed enough time for a thorough consultation beforehand AND still gave me my full 60 minutes of massage. That would never happen at a spa or anywhere else I’ve been! She was talkative when I wanted to be and quiet when I needed. I just got back from a 75 minute massage with Anne Lofton, and oh my gosh...it was INCREDIBLE. She was so conscious of my needs and ailments (I have Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis, as well as an ankle full of pins and a plate). Her pressure was perfect! I have never had a massage therapist listen to my needs and wants so well, and actually focus where I wanted them focus.She was professional, so sweet, and so knowledgable. I walked out feeling like a new woman. Definitely going to make this a monthly thing with her. I never knew how much I needed this, and am so happy to find Anne Lofton! SUCH a great experience!

Wow! What a fantastic gem I discovered, when I was gifted a massage at Birmingham Wellness Massage! I received the gift for my birthday months ago, but haven’t been able to use it due to health problems. Brice, the owner was so compassionate and understanding when I had to reschedule *twice! He also made sure to put me with the PERFECT therapist, Justin. Justin is very strong, has a great flow, and really understood how to handle a person like me that has a million health problems! I have been going to Birmingham Wellness Massage now consistently for the last 4 months. I have been to all of the spas around town that are overpriced and don’t deliver what I consider a “professional job!” Birmingham Wellness sets themselves above the rest due to their ability to have “true massage therapists.” I’ve been going as a recovery method suggestion by my doctor from a recent condition. Each visit has been incredible. I have begun recommending to my family & friends. I see John Hamm and he is incredible. On one occasion, due to a small schedule conflict, John was unable to see me. I was quickly scheduled with Justin Weirich who again, exceeded my expectations. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place‼️ I schedule my appointment for an hour and a half and it’s the best $120 spent, I promise.😇

I have been a massage therapist for about ten years, so Im fortunate to know most therapists who work at either location. They are all amazing at their craft. A highly developed intuitive approach to client needs and expectations separates them from other therapists, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I know Kate, Anne Lofton, Melynda, Robbie, Doss, and Maya personally and professionally; theyre all amazing!

I really appreciate the level of communication I get from Birmingham Wellness Massage. I can call, I can text, or I can email, and I will be responded to very promptly. Ally is great, too! My first time coming in was from back pain, and her technique relieved a lot of pain for me. I have been getting monthly massages since, and I have not had the issue reoccur. I recommend them!

As a contracted licensed massage therapist (LMT) at Birmingham Wellness Massage for 3 years, I enjoy working here. My schedule is flexible, the compensation is fair, and my colleagues have grown to become extended family. I highly recommend BWM for new and seasoned LMTs.

Brice is amazing and I wouldnt use anyone else. I was hesitant to have a massage because Im freaky when it comes to strangers touching me. Brice has a great personality and put me at ease right away at our first appointment. Ive been comfortable with him ever since and look forward to my massages with him. I made an appointment online six weeks ago, received an email confirmation and everything. I knew I would be 38 weeks pregnant and it would be my last week at work before baby arrived, so I planned to have an hour long massage to relax and unwind - something that has been really rare for me during a particularly difficult pregnancy. I showed up for my appointment and got a confused look from the employee there. I told him I was there for my appointment and showed him my confirmation. Apparently, the massage therapist I booked with six weeks ago no longer works there and hasn’t for a month. I was never called or emailed to cancel my appointment or reschedule in advance. Disappointed, I got back in my car and made the trip home, actually feeling emotional that I wouldn’t get the relaxing massage I so desperately needed and had been looking forward to. Yes, it sounds dramatic, but if you have been 9 months pregnant, you know how real the emotions are for me right now! All in all, I left work early for a pointless hour round trip during peak 280 traffic. I wouldn’t have even left a bad review had I been offered a discount for my next appointment or some kind of service-oriented gesture.

Brice is a phenomenal massage therapist. My career is in healthcare and I take care of a lot of patients on a daily basis, so I have a lot of back and neck pain. I have had multiple professional massages before but Brice is by far the best massage therapist I have ever had. He’s always been consistent with targeting and relieving muscle aches/tension. He’s professional and extremely knowledgeable about each muscle group he works on. He also incorporates great stretching techniques that further improve your massage. I highly recommend going to see him and I honestly believe that you will be seeing him again for future appointments.

Shay is awesome! I had not had many massages before and did not know what to expect. When I go back, I will definitely request Shay. Crocker Moving Services, the company I work for, buys gift certificates for the employees, and I will tell all the guys to ask for Shay.

Brice and Taylor were absolutely the best. Taylor has to be the best kept massage secret in Birmingham. I was visiting Birmingham on a four-day golf trip. However, having three major back surgeries over the past couple of years, I knew four straight days of golf would be a tall order. I called Brice to schedule an appointment on short notice. He took my contact info and called me back within 5 minutes with an appointment. From there, Taylor took over and was a star! She listened as I explained my back problems and medical history and gave me one of the best massages ever (and Ive had hundreds of massages since my surgeries). All day on the course I felt loose and limber. During my round, I texted Brice and tried to schedule another massage...again, no problem...again, Taylor was awesome. Four days of golf an not a single sore muscle. If my travels ever take me back to Birmingham, Brice and Taylor will definitely be my first call!

For someone who has reoccurring back issues and had never tried massage as a form of therapy until about a year ago, I have to say that the therapists at Bham Wellness Massage have to be the best in the business. Brice, John, and Justin are not only professional and make you feel relaxed, but they also inquire about areas that may need to be targeted to ensure you get the most benefit from your session. They have made me believe that massage therapy should be a part of my overall health and wellness routine!

Stella is fabulous ! She has been helping me manage my fibromyalgia and chronic pain! She has helped me cut my medication in half! Staying with a maintenance plan has been great! She has great technique and her transitions between areas is so smooth. I highly recommend Stella and anyone at Birmingham Wellness! Also great hours available!

Ive had sessions with Brice, CJ, and Ally. All three were very professional, and I benefited from my time with them. I think what impresses me most about Birmingham Wellness is that the therapists ask questions (AND listen to your answers), so they can customize your massage to fit your needs. Highly recommended!

I would definitely recommend Birmingham Wellness over and over! I had been experiencing neck stiffness, pain and dizziness for a year off and on but was very reluctant to get a massage due to one bad experience. I met Brice explained my concerns and scheduled me with Paisley (she is amazing)! I had the best night sleep that night AND my neck has felt 100% better! Needless to say I am hooked! Give them a try.....you will not regret it I promise!

I have seen both John and Brice and would unequivocally recommend them both. Prior to my first visit, I was only a very infrequent massage client. I now have been at least a monthly regular for over a year. They instantly put me at ease and are very skilled at finding and addressing problem areas I didnt even realize I had.

Always easy to book or get info with Birmingham Wellness. Massage therapists I’ve tried there are all good and always very professional. My favorite, however, is John Hamm. He listened to my needs on which muscles are bothering me and I never feel rushed. Much more than self pampering - this is therapy for your body! I always feel great for weeks afterward.

I have had couples massages before, which dont get me wrong were great, but Birmingham Wellness Massage was AMAZING. The massage was more customized I told Brice that I had neck problems and I could crack my neck every time I moved it left and right. After this massage (over a month ago) the popping in my neck has gone away. I wouldnt believe this story before I tried them first hand. I am DEF. going back, it was amazing. I cannot say enough about Jevashia Williams. I went for the first time this morning because I woke up with a crick in my neck. I couldn’t even turn my head due to the severity of the pain. Jevashia was so thorough, and she would not let me leave until I was able to turn my head. I have had plenty of massages over the years but none compare to the one that I had today. I can’t wait to go back when I can truly relax.

I cant speak to the quality of the massage, as I didnt get to experience it, because they canceled my appointment; and did so without notifying me. According to the owner, my appointment was canceled because I didnt follow up to change my credit card on file. The fact of the matter is, a valid card was on file, and no one bothered to let me know my appointment was in danger of being canceled, or even that it had actually been canceled. I literally found out when me and my significant other showed up for our couples massage, and they told us we are not on the schedule. The owner said at that time he didnt know what was going on, but hed like to offer us a free couples massage for the misunderstanding. Fast forward a few days later, he re-nigs on the free massage and tells me that his assistant texted me to say if they didnt have prepayment by the Friday before the Sunday appointment, they would need to take us off the schedule. First, I didnt receive any such text. Second, the prepayment policy is a joke. Thats just bad business and should have been my first clue not to book. I dont believe in pre-paying for any SERVICE. I understand deposits, and I understand charging my card if I am a no show for an appointment. Nevertheless, that is their policy, and they had a valid card on file and chose to cancel my appointment, rather than reach out for clarification, or simply charge the card they had on file. Simply put- poor customer service.

I had a massage with Maya. She was over 20 minutes late and did not seem particularly concerned about it. She did not wear a mask until I asked her about it, she is unvaccinated. She did apologize for that. The massage was very nice which is why I gave three stars. I asked about another appointment and she said she would call me the next day. I have yet to hear from her. Since there are so so many massage offers in Birmingham, why bother with someone so unprofessional.

This was a great prenatal massage. A lot of places just barely massage/touch because they are unnecessarily scared of pregnant women. John did a great job listening to where I am experiencing strain and using firm pressure to really work these areas. He was professional, and I felt totally comfortable. I was in a pain crisis from degenerative joint and disk disease plus fibromyalgia. A massage therapist I know was booked all into next week. So I decided to Google somewhere else to go. I chose this place because of the beautiful pictures. I called, and was able to get in today! I was reluctant because I didnt know who I would be getting, and whether they would be able to help. I must say Tonya did an outstanding job!!! She was very caring took time to work on my problem areas, which was basically everywhere. The 90 minute massage was the best gift I could have paid for this weekend. I walked out feeling so much better than when I came. I highly recommend Tonya to provide some much needed relief from chronic pain.

I have been using Brice as my massage therapist for several years now. He’s very professional, yet friendly & easy to build a therapist/client relationship with. I get severe tension headaches & sometimes nothing will relieve them except for medicine or a massage. I try not to use medicine when possible. He’s also very accommodating whenever possible to work around my schedule or get me an appointment when I’m really hurting! Definitely worth a visit! (Or become a regular, like me!)

Brice is an excellent massage therapist. He is very professional and makes you feel comfortable throughout your session. If you are one who likes a lot of pressure or needs someone who can get deep into your muscle tissue, Brice is your guy; having said that, he will go as deep or as light as you want/need. It can be very hard to find a masseuse who can relieve the pressure from the rocks that are my muscles, so when I learned Brice could I was ecstatic. He pays attention to the little details, too, like having dry shampoo for the ladies to help with the oil that might get in your hair. If you like essential oils and the benefits they provide (I LOVE them), hell use high quality oils in addition to his massaging lotion. He has a cooling towel for your eyes and a cushy neck-pillow to help elevate your head. Ive never been to a massage therapist that has paid so much attention to what makes a person comfortable. You wont regret choosing Brice to be your massage therapist.

My service was awesome. I received a massage by Justin. I explained to Justin the pain that Id been having. I received a relaxing Swedish Massage. Justin helped to alleviate most of my pain by focusing on my psoas muscle. He was prompt, professional and personable. Im looking forward to my next session.

Birmingham Wellness Massage is awesome! My therapist really took the time to ask questions and focus on my trouble spots. They also have therapist that specialize in treatments like cupping. Michael Phelps the swimmer uses cupping to get ready for the Olympics. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Shay Doss is AMAZING. I had heard incredible things about her, but she far exceeded my expectations! She gave me pain relief that no doctor or physical therapist has been able to for 10 years!

My husband was having a great deal of stress at work and with some personal business situations. Due to the intensity of it all, I was greatly concerned about his mental and physical absorption. I told him to clear his schedule for an afternoon and he specifically told me he wouldn’t be happy with a massage, a manicure, or counseling. 😂I dragged him in Birmingham Wellness Massage to meet the sweetest therapist named Paisley. She was very patient with his lack of enthusiasm and my profuse apologies for sticking her with a less than cooperative patient. Upon the time being up, he came out of the appointment very relaxed and thankful with a completely different mindset on massage for wellness. I tried their Pain Relief massage. I booked a 45 min session with Stella which ended up being 30 minutes. She was nice but honestly it did not help with my neck pain at all.

While visiting Birmingham, I made an appointment at this establishment. I was unable to get an Uber to bring me to the location. When I called to reschedule, I was told my only option was to pay a $70 cancellation fee. Paying a fee is a totally acceptable outcome, but the fees were not explained when my card was placed on file. Just a heads up for anyone visiting!

Just walking into birmingham wellness I immediately felt relaxed and comfortable. They were very thorough and understanding of specific needs. This was my first massage so I was a little nervous but BWM made sure to answer all of my concerns and put ease to any anxiety I had. BWM was very professional but also friendly and comforting. The massage was incredible. They also incorporate useful stretching which felt fantastic. BWM is very knowlegable about the body and what techniques should be used for any issue. I ended up in the hospital with tachycardia and shortness of breath the day before my appointment. I called last night and left an email to let them know my situation and asked to reschedule. They still want to charge me the $45 cancellation fee, despite the fact that this emergency situation occurred and was beyond my control.
