Was visiting from out of town and just Yelped mexican restaurant and La Poblanita came up so I thought Id give it a try.I was waited on within 2 min of sitting down and I ordered the Steak Fajitas. They came out sizzling hot less than 10 min later. I am always a little worried about the steak because you sometimes get sub-par meat but no worries here. Meat was tender and marinated to perfection. Had my choice of corn or flour tortillas. My server checked back with me multiple times and the atmosphere was great also. Highly recommend.
Great authentic food options. Friendly and fast service, and the food was delicious. Clean restaurant and it even had a little candy shop by the register on the way out. They even had tacos de langua on the menu (something I havent had for years, but will be returning for again sometime soon). Definitely worth a visit.
First time at this restaurant. It was busy for a friday night, that’s always a good sign. Atmosphere was awesome. There is a live band. Salsa was great, guacamole was a lot and tasty. Can’t remember the name of what we got but it was all good. Hubby got the corn on the cob, elote. Definitely recommend for your birthday. There were about 5 people celebrating their birthdays. They band sang happy birthday in Spanish and the waiters also came out with a dessert and sparkling candles. Did not drink, so cannot comment on it. Best Mexican restaurant I have been to in CLT so far.
Both outside and inside very clean. There is an outside area for seating during warmer weather. Music both inside and out. There is a stage for live music on Friday and Saturday. No happy hour, however, we asked about drink speciials and were told the bar had a drink special $5 margaritas, which are tasty. Atmosphere nice. There is booth seating without the walls so the room is open. They have a candy store and banquet facility on the premises.
Sadly, we used to eat here all the time and loved it. We had not been in a while and we went for my birthday. The prices on everything have gone up. For us(2 adults 1 child) to each get an entree and one appetizer to share, the bill for lunch should not be over $70. We didnt realize until the check came that they were charging us $4 per soda. The food was good but the service was not that great. We told the young lady it was my birthday. They did not offer any dessert. They did not come to the table, it felt very ordinary and for the amount of money that we spent it was not worth it. It. Im very disappointed because this used to be our favorite local Mexican restaurant. They have a wonderful candy shop thats attached. But they are clearly price gouging at this point. This economy and the inflation is rough but the amount that the prices have gone up is not right compared to what youre getting. I felt very sad when we left, because we wont be going back.
Im a regular customer via DoorDash, but I finally went to the restaurant to pick up food. Its very festive inside with music and an air of happy hour. Of course, the food is great, too. Im a fan of their traditional style tacos, but Ive heard great things about their burritos, too. Their menu is laid out nicely and easy to read. I sat at the bar and waited a few minutes for my food and they have a well-stocked bar... Looks like they make a great margarita, too. Parking here is easy as they have a massive parking lot right of Westinghouse Blvd.
We’ve been here for dinner and for brunch. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Friendly, very pleasant staff. But they need to step up the game busing tables. Empty plates left on the table too long. Live music on Saturday evenings (we leave by 11:00 pm when DJ starts and gets really loud) Sunday afternoons 12-3:00 pm makes it a fun place.
The food was okay. But the service was really bad. Our waitress confused our drinks, then when the food runner came back with the food he spilled my cousin’s drinks on him. After that, you may think they would try to give you a discount because they spilled all that soda on my cousins very expensive new phone. They didn’t, they actually messed up our orders receipts, and gave us pens that weren’t working. We had to use our own pens to sign and the waitress try to snatch our own pen when we were done. Overall, the food is okay but service is really bad.
The food was real good, but the waitress did not refill our drinks or bring more chips. She was super nice. This would be an easy 5 star review if she didnt just forget about us.
Not a FAMILY atmosphere; not for children. There was a couple having sex ~yes, they were~ in the parking lot beside their car and another couple hot and heavy at the bar. This was at 6pm in broad daylight. The management wasnt worried about it at all, telling me that they were regular customers at the restaurant.
Authentic great Spanish music, tv’s great service and suggestions. Food was amazing and very authentic Mexican tacos. Lots of options! Aswell as cheap costing as it was 45$ for three people.
Our 1st time at Poblanita, pleasantly surprised! We were greeted by Ariana who was a great server, she encouraged me to order the bigger margarita and I took the small one, then ordered the big one!Great margaritas!Food was wonderful!
I recently dined at La Pobanita Mexican Restaurant, and my experience was delightful. The atmosphere was vibrant and they had live music that evening. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. La Poblanita offers an authentic, fresh Mexican dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and a great time.
Here visiting from Florida and my friend took me here! Everything was amazing! Food fresh, it reminded me of this little place in Mexico! Very tasty!!! And customer service was top notch! I will most definitely be visiting again! Miguel was every customers dream at a restaurant, so attentive keep up the good work! Thanks for taking me downmemory lane!Orlando, Florida
We had our car club meeting here. Had a room to ourselves and excellent service before and after our meeting. We were not interrupted during the meeting. We will be back!
Service was great. We ordered to go and our food was accurate. We had nachos, chorizo cheese dip, a chicken chimichanga, and a carnita chimichanga. Everything was seasoned very well. The rice, chips, and tortillas were fresh and delicious. It was some of the most flavorful Mexican food weve had. My only issue was paying $12 for the small cup of chorizo dip... for the size, it should not have been more than $5-6. Overall, it was a hit and will definitely return to dine in.
First time trying, and we were definitely not disappointed. The vibe is nice, the staff is super sweet, and the food is awesome! We haven’t been able to find good Mexican food since moving here and I think we finally found out spot!We got street tacos, enchiladas and a quesadilla and all of them were so yummy!
It was my first time eating there with my best friend and we love it. We had the fish tacos, the fajitas and the dessert was churros and flan,The food was delicious and very tasty. the waiter was polite and knowledgeable and on top of that its not far from my house. I think I found my new spot to go eat.
It was a really good Mexican place. I got fajitas and they were amazing, and had plenty to bring home as well. He had the camarones a la diabla shrimp and the flavors were amazing. We will definitely be back!
The food was great, but the music was so loud my ears rang for hours after I left. I came in before 10:30 pm and didnt expect a limited menu since I hadnt seen anything about that online, but the tacos were exceptional! Would love to come back during the day and not get deafened.
We went for a business luncheon (30 plus) and we utilized a side room. All of our orders came out correctly and quickly. One of the highlights to me was the chips and complimentary dipping sauces. Main entree was excellent as well.
There are many Mexican restaurants in Charlotte but this one is our favorite. The service is generally good, the drinks are strong, and the food is well prepared. Ive had tamales and burritos and quesadillas here. The queso with chips is good though the cheese doesnt stay hot for very long. Salsa is tasty.
Terrible after spending over 300$ in our check they decide to kick us out. The managers are terrible, as stated by one of their rude waiters guy “give them the check now “ If you keep spending, why kick someone out ? Learn how to manage your bar area. Specially if you have an event going. Never going back. Terrible service, atmosphere.
We ordered two vegetarian enchiladas, no meat. There was no vegetarian enchiladas in the menu, the waitress said she would remove the chicken from the enchilada and give us no meat enchilada and the dish was $17. In our vegetarian dish they put bellpepper and onions and we were charged $19 instead of the normal price of $17. The waitress and the manager said that since its a vegetarian dish it costed more and it was not mentioned anywhere in the menu that vegetarian dishes costed more and the waitress also did not let us know that beforehand.
Nestled in the heart of an industrial area in Charlotte, La Poblanita offers a straightforward and convenient dining experience perfect for a quick workday lunch. While the decor and furniture show a bit of wear, they contribute to the restaurants unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere. The food is decent, with a selection that hits the spot when you need a tasty break from the office routine. While it might not be the destination for a special occasion, La Poblanita excels at providing good service and a solid meal that wont disappoint if youre in the area and in need of a quick, satisfying bite.
The food is always good, the service isn’t bad and the live music is a great touchMy wife LOVES the green chile enchiladas.Easily some of the better Mexican food I have had in Charlotte.
Arianni was awesome! Not only did she take our order but she mixed delicious margaritas as well. We will definitely return! Highly recommend this place!😁
I was really excited to try this restaurant but left really disappointed and would not recommend. To begin with, we were never told we had a limited time to be at the restaurant. We were rushed many times even when we were still consuming food and drinks. One of the workers passed by telling a waitress to pass us the check and another came to ask us when we were leaving. Very bad management. We shouldn’t have to feel rushed especially for the amount of money our table spent. Will not be coming back.
Fantastic hidden gem! Wonderful queso dip without anything hot in it. Really good chicken here! My plate was Pollo Arroz chicken cheese and rice only. Frozen strawberry 🍓 margarita was amazing!! Great place tucked away behind gas station but beautiful renovations :)PRICE:: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ fair everything under $20FOOD: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so much taste and freshLOCATION : ⭐️⭐️ hidden
They have the best tacos!! This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. We love coming here! Always a great experience ☺️
Some of the best Mexican food in Charlotte area. We had 6 different dishes. All wonderful. Thick caso (not runny). Waiters and waitresses were fabulous.
My third visit to this little known restaurant (to me) for a family gathering was wonderful! The food is fresh and hot. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will go again and again.
ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC!!! Our server Miguel, the manament and entire staff were excellent! Everything about this visit was phenomenal! I had a friend visiting from FL so I got to impress her with some of the best Mexican Cuisine I have ever tasted. The music was lively (as usual), the salsas were tangy and tantalizing, the flavor of all the dishes were perfectly flavored and seasoned, and BEST of all my tacos were crunchy and juicy! 200% satisfied with my service and dinner! Thans for having me as a guest LA Poblanita 🙏🏿
Went in for lunch mid week and tried the carnitas with corn tacos and the food was well made and tasty. The chips and salsa were amazing too and the service excellent. Will definitely be going back and they told me they have live music in the evenings on weekends and Sunday mornings as well.
Great spot for authentic Mexican food. My only complaint would be just a little less salt. The food is very well seasoned, rice perfectly cooked and beans that have some taste value.
Great food! Our waitress spent more time on her phone or talking to other employees at the bar than waiting on her tables. Our soft drinks were totally empty BEFORE our meal was delivered. A runner brought out the hot plates, we assumed she would follow him to ask if we needed anything else. We finished the entire meal before she returned to check on us and ask if we needed anything. We will go back, might ask for a water AND a soft drink just in case.
Really good tex mex in Charlotte. I got the chorizo queso which was delectable and so dang good. Also got 3 tacos (tripa, lengua, and al pastor). The tripe was fried and amazing! The server offered me 3 hot sauces on the side. The orange one was nice and spicy. The price is a little high ($3/taco) but Ill definitely come here again for dinner. Oh, and I liked the Jamaica agua fresca (not too sweet).
The food came out fast. It was hot and delicious! I had the sopes, rice, and black beans. Our server Catherine (sp) was nice and took good care of us!
One word!!! HORRIBLE !!!! The place was over crowded and they charged us $30 to even get in the door which we only went in and walked right back out not even 5 minutes in the place. When I asked if there was a table to sit at and eat the waitress rudly responded in the worst way I cant help you how Grassley rude do you really treat your customers cant really speak for the food since we never had the chance to ear or order anything! This is a joke of a restaurante I will never go back!! And I would definitely never refer anyone to this so called restaurante which is more of a bar full of drunks with the worst service/ environment ever this place should be reported to the fire marshal if there is ever a fire there I feel so sorry for the people inside will never make it out unsafe and dangerous!!! Someone call the firemarshall on these people!
Went to the special show on Saturday evening. The sampler was very appealing. The Pina Coladas were awesome. Had a wonderful evening.
Brought a truck load of stuff up here and unloaded some 53ft trailers....I thought to myself, I sure am hungry for something great....Took off to this restaurant as Ive come several times in the past 4 years.. Very nice waitstaff! Great size plates..you can even take some for left overs. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes with green tomotillo sauce😋🥑 ✨Magnifico ✨
They have a fairly unique spin on Mexican food.As soon as you walk in the door, your nose will tell you that you are in for a super delicious meal.
We received horrible service, we asked for refills for our drinks multiple times, never received them, our waitress kept messing the orders up, we asked a different waiter to speak to a manger and he told our waitress instead of getting the manger. It was just terrible service.
I got a steak taco and didn’t even get it brought out to the table after 3 times of asking. Horrible service. DO NOT RECOMMEND
We decided to come here for lunch and it was our first time visiting this restaurant. Weve visited plenty and had our fair share of Mexican restaurants, enjoyed many plates and had plenty of left overs to take home. This restaurant in particular was somewhat different, seemed very particular about their food and their platter representation. I ordered their taco combo which is a plate with refried beans, yellow rice and two tacos of your choice of meat. As you can see my picture shown here there was a small amount of refried beans and yellow rice and of course my choice of two tacos which were steaks which had no flavor what so ever, had to use salt which I never do on any ordered meal. What didnt come along with these tacos as I received my order were cilantro, onions or lime. Luckly for me I knew to order this which in any other restaurant they would ask the customer if theyd like these toppings or at least they would bring them as a side if it is something a customer would not like on their tacos. I also had a plastic fork for a utensil while my husband had metal utensils to use for his order. He ordered a chicken soup Mexican style of course, usually would come with tortillas of your choice and lime for flavoring. Which we had to ask for as well and when our waitress came to get our drinks, brought our drink orders and then asked for our food order that was the last of her seen. I had to ask for her twice to some other waiters to have her bring condiments, another drink order and it took her so long just to attend to us. Smh. I would only recommend this place if youre starving, have no where else to search for or just in a rush for Mexican and are craving for it. Other then that I will not come here again for lunch or dinner and or even for just a drink. Hope others had better luck or will have better luck then we did.
Food was horrible l, service was slow, but the atmosphere overall was ok except for the loud music that u could feel in your throat.
Amazing!! Visiting from out of town and stumbled across this place. Honestly I am so picky about quality of Mexican food, and don’t hand out 5 stars easily. This place hands down deserves 5 stars!! Margaritas are amazing, street tacos (the carnitas was my favorite) to die for, my husband special requested his burrito to be smothered in verde sauce and they had no issues with it. They have this green sauce that I put on my tacos because it was so delicious!
Our new favorite place! Super clean! We love the food here and our experience is wonderful when we come. We also want to take the time to mention the server they have there. His name is Hugo. His energy and recommendation for the food there has not failed our taste buds. We recommend that everyone try this place and don’t forget to ask for Hugo!! Oh yeah did tell that the margaritas are the best there too!
Food had a very strange taste. Had a chicken chimichanga and chicken tasted burned and the rice didnt taste right either. Beans and chips and salsa were great.
My family have been coming to this place for years, and it used to be one of our favorite places. The last couple of times I went the food and service fell off so much.Today tops it off for us. We came in to eat and there is only one other table in the whole restaurant. They seated us down and we waited and waited and no one came to take our orders. The hostess was up front playing on her phone. The servers and bartender walked in and out from the back giggling and laughing. And still not one came to take our order. So we decided to just get up and leave. They were so clueless that one of them even said bye to us not knowing that we haven’t even been helped yet. It was terrible. The service here has gotten so bad lately and I will make sure my family and friends never spend any money here ever again. Did they get new management? We went down the street to Don Pedro’s where the service is amazing.
$22 for a SINGLE order of beef enchiladas, rice and beans. Really?! And it was To-Go. I’ve eaten here before and certainly not worth $22.00 for a single order of enchiladas. Goodbye La Poblanita. Will no longer recommend
First time on Mothers Day, and it was a great time! The service was amazing, but for the price point, the food couldve been better.
The food was incredible! I am very picky when it comes to my Mexican food, but this was authentic and full of flavor!
This place is really good. When Im around this part of Charlotte and craving authentic Mexican food, I go to La Poblanita. I usually get the carnitas, or the fajitas lunch special but everything else Ive eaten from here is delicious. Their staff has always been friendly and courteous.During this COV 19 pandemic, they only do to go or deliver. They were prompt for my carry out. I got the chicken fajitas. It came with rice and beans and tortillas. It also came with their three different salsas AND chips and salsa that they usually provide if you were to do eat-in.
Authentic, fresh & delicious! Friendly, fast service. Very attentive! Very affordable, too! So glad I paid attention to the reviews!
Good food, a very authentic experience, our server Arianni was very accommodating to our needs, would return with friends
The best Mexican restaurant in Charlotte, hands down. I love their guacamole and chorizo tacos, but everything I’ve tried has been fantastic
Ufffff the service and food was BOMB! The staff was super attentive and friendly. Authentic Mexican food!
There was live music on Sunday lunch time that was good the food was good also
Wonderful food, friendly staff. Great candy store. All good
The food here is excellent. It’s some of the best Mexican I’ve had outside of Mexico. The owner/manager is usually there and on top of things. Today the service was meh and I saw a lot of servers just standing around. The food was fantastic though and I would go back.
Good food, good food fast. Beautiful on the inside. Staff nice and take time to explain. Walks you thru the menu. Note spot foe solo or date night.
This place is one of the best Mexican restaurants Ive been to in the Charlotte area, hands down. Ive taken my family a number of times and no matter what we order, were never disappointed. If you want some good Mexican food, then go to La Poblanita!
The price on the internet was cheaper then what I was charged. My daughter only wanted chicken with fries. When she got her chicken, it was very thin and flat and over cooked. When I got my bill, they charged $15 for an overcooked piece of thin chicken. They charged $6 for a small frie. My fajita was supposed to be 8.99, and I was charged $15. My server took my order. And someone to help bring my food out. Didnt see her for 15 minutes. She came out one time after bringing out my food. Do you need anything else. I said, No, not at the moment. She never came back. Then I complained about the slice of chicken I was charge $15 for. The Manger took $5 off. My bill was $100. I havent had service that bad in forever. This place is overpriced, overcooked food. Youve been warned.
The food was very good.the atmosphere is really excellent the waitress got out food to us and disappeared,no refills, never checked on us.when it got time for dessert we had to go fine someone else to take the orders. I will go back but well ask for a different waitress .
A nice Mexican restaurant. The carnitas and lengua tacos were good, as well as the nachos. The tortas are HUGE.
The best food I’ve ever had! Portion size is very generous. They also have a small candy store that you should check out! A+++
Yordany was a great server! 10/10 food and authentic atmosphere
Valentina was a wonderful server. Efficient and attentive.
Was seated immediately after entering the establishment. Waitress was polite, friendly and well represented. Drinks were cold and orders were correct and fresh and very hear hot. Was very impressed with the establishment and the employees. Great atmosphere and great , smiling employees and correct and very neat and the placement and showmanship of the food was great. Ill for sure be back to dine in next time Im down that way. Best Mexican food and restaurant that Ive ate at in a very long time. Keep up the amazing work and service.
I have been here a lot of times but last 2 times have not been good. Back in July it took 45 minutes for food to come out( it wasnt busy). Today I had a 3 combination plate with steak. 1 burrito and 2 enchiladas, only the burrito was steak and the enchiladas were chicken. Waitress came once we were done eating but I did not touched my enchiladas I had to get back to work so didnt have time to redo my order but still got charged for the whole plate. We never got a refill on our sodas, they sat us down in a room in a coner where no one was at all together it was a bad service and at the end had to pay $20 for a small burrito with rice and beans. Last time I go here its a shame, service wasnt this bad.
Great food and service for cheap. Definitely recommend after Carowinds.
I get my takeout here once a week, great prices, great food selection and high-quality!
We love La Poblanita, we usually order take out but when we eat in, the restaurant is always welcoming and has a great atmosphere. Hands down, favorite Mexican restaruant.
Very delicious. Great experience. Prices. Love the live music
It was okay neither great or bad experience food took a long time then it was a little bit for the price paid wasnt impressed
Love this place. Fantastic, wonderful, delicious yummy food. Personally, I love their chicken soup. 🍲 Its warm packed with flavor. And its just so delicious. 😋 My son he enjoyed Dos Mares. He said it hit the spot and was very pleased with the dish. He said delicious and flavorful. This is definitely my go-to place for authentic Mexican food. You must go and try.
Service was terrible.Waitress not professional at all.I had to leave pretty much all of the food. The enchiladas were nasty.Salsa was terrible.Took forever to even get our chips not to mention to get our drinks.I will definitely Not come back to this expensive & unpleasant place.I end up paying 40 dollars for just 1 meal.Sad.Bad, bad experience.
I ordered the Chicken Milanesa plate, and it was great! Daniela, our waitress was very courteous, never run out of a drink. Checked on us several times and removed the plates once we were done. I travel to Charlotte for business, and Im coming back to LA Poblanita for sure!
Sat outdoors, waited 20 minutes for someone to Take our order. Waitress was very courteous, but management needs improvement another party of 4 left because no one came to them as well. This is the 2nd time this happened and will be my Last. Express my concern to the waitress, she told someone, and nobody came out to talk to us.. Good food, very bad service..
The most wonderful and satisfying food and authentic fresh made-from-scratch I have ever had in my life. Chef thank you for so a great meal and we will definitely be back. My daughter is a chef and looks for the cultural taste and this was a #1 above board restaurant🥰
Food is typical, but very salty. Carnitas were wet, not roasted crispy. Interior was typical, exterior looks run down. Service was very good.
My daughter and I were looking for a good Spanish restaurant so we chose La Povlanita Mexican Restaurant we were welcomed in by the host, we were seated then we sat for over 10 minutes no one came to acknowledge us. We didn’t even get salsa and chips. But we saw other customers come in after us and they were taken care of as soon as they were seated. Wonder why??I didn’t ask for a manager because there wouldn’t be a sincere apology. We honestly didn’t feel wanted at all!(By the way that’s me in the profile)
We went there for lunch. I ate tacos, my friend ate chicken fajita. Both were nice, good food. I cannot say ‘the best that i ve ever eaten’ yet it was a good choice for us instead of bad quality and unhealthy food. The prices were also good. 9-10$ per person. The staff was nice too. The sercive quality was good. I think if i m around the restaurant some other time, i can go there again.
Their food is good and has flavor. They are one of the few restaurants that have authentic Chile rellenos or poblanos. They still use Mexican cheese and not mozzarella which makes all the difference in taste. They are a little pricey, although worth it. Their waitresses are a hit and miss. Sometimes you will get the best most attentive waitress and other times you will be lucky if you see your waitress more than once or twice.
Can get a little loud at the time when they have live music. But food is phenomenal, staff is great. Great Mexican food for sure!
Arianni was an excellent server and exceeded our expectations.
The food is very good, I love this place.
I ordered this on postmates and it was AMAZING! Definitely a spot that Im excited to actually go to. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were on point. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I am very excited to make this a regular spot to eat
Food is great and our waitress Arianni is awesome!
Worst service Ive had maybe of all time. Our server took our order and never came back the rest of the time. I walked up to someone at the front desk to get a box and check and was told the server would be over. That process took 10 minutes. Our server ever brought the check, no box, I asked again for a box, no box.Another server noticed our check with the card on it and cashed us out and brought a box.Multiple hostesses just gathered in a circle talking and petting each others hair. Also, The club lights were flashing us in the eyes at 7pm on Sunday.Seems like a big party for the employees and the customers suffer.Rice and beans were just okay. Fresh lime margarita was pretty good.
The food is amazing and will definitely be back
While looking for a restaurant to eat at, I came across this place, and may I say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was so wonderful, and my waiter Miguel was so kind. My Mother gave him a bit of a hard time and he was so patient and respectful and made sure everything was perfect. The staff seemed very pleasant, and the atmosphere overall was just fantastic. If I could give this place more stars I would. I will be a returning customer.
Good, and Spicy 🌶🫑. The service was fast. The Sweet Tea 🧋great. Food portion was right on for the price. The place was very clean and atmosphere pleasant. Plenty of parking. They do get busy, so come early for lunch specials 😋. Sorry no pics, it was really tasty and I ate it all before I remembered to grab a snapshot 📸
We love ordering from you! My husband has dairy allergies n we love that you make authentic tacos that he loves! We always worry when ordering because everyone puts cheese on everything! Thank you some much for the amazing tradional food w/out having to worry about not getting our order right!
Pretty nice Mexican restaurant. Lunch choices arent quite as plentiful here, but the chips and salsa come with several choices in type and heat level...
Margaritas and drinks are fantastic!! 👌🏽 For foodies: it will take you back to your “abuelita’s” house - from the tamales, enchiladas, Chile rellenos, sauces, and guacamole etc. Hosts are joyful, energetic and pleasant, even when extremely busy in the restaurant. They pay close attention to detail here.
I passed this place at least 20 times over the years (Westinghouse warehouse district) and tried it today. It was one of the best Mexican restaurant experience I have had in the Charlotte/York County area. The staff was immediately serving. The menu is very well planned and the food was the bomb!!!! Also I asked them to make a Hennessy margarita which was very well crafted. 5 stars!!
The food was subpar and overpriced but the service was absolutely atrocious. Took ten minutes for our drink order and he kept trying to walk away while we were still ordering.I just got notified that they doubled the tip we left them. Do not go to this place!
The food was very good but there was a young waiter on the sunday of july 9th 2023 that was extremely disrespectful and dismissive, Someone who did not want to do their job and provides absolutely zero value to this industry. First time ive ever tipped zero at any place ever, waiter very much deserved it.
Great authentic Mexican food, awesome service!
Enrique was fabulous!!!! Super nice! I love this place!!
Ms. Daniela was an awesome waitress, she made sure that our experience was great and she always had a smile on her face. I look forward to Daniela serving me in the future. The food was delicious and hot when we received it..
Not very friendly staff and pricey food. There were about 7 servers standing by the door when I walked in and not a single one smiled, even the cashier who asked if she can help me didnt smile. Tacos start at $3.50/ each. Yes, thats one little Taco. An average sized guy will need 5 or more to feel full so youre looking to spend $20-25/ person, and the drinks are overpriced as well. Ive spent less at other places where the food tasted better and the people were friendlier.
We had family come to town and the request was Mexican food so we picked this location. We wanted to sit outside but our group was to large for that so sat inside, our waitress was some what nervous it seemed like she was new but she worked through it service was great. Now the manager was wonderful I had ordered a round of tequila shots but the one I had asked for they was out, so I asked him to suggest one for us and he HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD it was soooo smooth i ordered another round. I will return for the food, service, and some more shots.
This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. We had a group of 12 people, and the waiter was incredible. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. The food was to die for! Very reasonably priced and some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Definitely will be back!!
Food was absolutely phenomenal and authentic! I can honestly say this, because I was brought there by my friend who is Mexican/American. Sopes were on point! Carnitas were decent, and Al Pastor were AMAZING! I highly recommend this place, and will return to try many more dishes!
First time eating here (takeout) and food wasgreat — tried the queso with chorizo and tacos al pastor with cilantro and onion. Flavors were great and meat was tender. Will definitely come back to try more. Tastes pretty authentic compared to many other CLT restaurants. Staff were also very kind!
Took a while for us to get noticed / served, but the service was friendly and attentive once it actually began. The chicken chimichanga was mediocre. The steak & chicken fajitas were quite good, if a bit greasy. The highlight of the meal was the fresh salsa served with the chips.
A+. Food is terrific and authentic. Full bar and the place stays busy. Its much more contemporary on the inside than the exterior would make you think. Service is very good. There is actual heat in the salsa they bring with the chips. Plus they bring 3 smaller containers of different salsas which I love. Lots of Latino customers, which is a good sign. I got the tacos and they got to the table in about 3 minutes. So good. This place is 100% on my radar.
Went for early dinner about a month ago. It was delicious. Very authentic and reasonably priced. Cannot wait to go again. The street tacos are amazing
It was our first time there. We are from out of yown and decided to go there for dinner with family members that live there. It was a very authentic restaurant. Loved the decor. The waitress was very helpful in answering questions regarding the menu items. Helping us to make decisions on what we wanted. The food was good and everyone enjoyed what they got. The drinks were good too! Authentic Mexican food. We will be returning when go back for another visit.
Edit: I came back post vaccine, and they were definitely back on their game. Definitely would recommend.I came her with my wife originally on a Sunday, and the experience was great. The food was tasty, and had more authentic options. The was a live performer who, while loud, was endearing. Weve since been back twice trying to get that same experience and failing. Both times the food was cold. It was competently made, so there is no good reason for it. Both times since the original visit have been an ordeal after the meal to get a ticket. Just bad experiences. I hope that they figure out whatever is causing this.
Absolute favorite in the area. Portions are mega for the price, salsa trio are killer, and the staff is super helpful and keen on making recommendations if you get overwhelmed by the extensive menu. Has a great family vibe and parking is amble, if not well utilized. Its hard to think of a day I dont see a lot of happy people coming in and out.
Best Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Charlotte hands down! Tamales, tacos and the Chile Rellenos are the best around. Service is amazing and very attentive. Awesome drink selection. Outside patio is spacious as well as inside. Will be back and would recommend to anyone who has not been!!!
I cant say enough good things about this place. Not much from the outside but clean and bright inside. The food is delicious. Fresh chips and delicious salsa, ask for the spicy green! Go here, get great food at very affordable prices with fantastic friendly service.
Super delicious meal! The raspberry margaritas are tasty, the nachos were excellent, the staff is super friendly and provided great service. The restaurant is clean with ample spacing for social distancing. My favorite spot in the Steelecreek area!
Great service and food was awesome all of us had a great time.
Food was very good and reasonable price.
The Al Pastor is delicious and the pina coladas are perfect on a hot day, but the service and food preparation is so inconsistent and margaritas are too expensive. We’ll have a great experience and the food will be great, then we get cold food and a server more focused on their phone and break than checking on a table once. Wish they’d occasionally do a traditional tres leches sometimes instead of the mochaOr strawberry flavors they typically have. Would be a 4-star if not for the inconsistent service.
The food was pretty good, but they had live music that was way too loud for that size room. It was so loud the person next to me couldnt hear me speaking.
Thirsty Thursdays!! I like this spot. The food is really good! Authentic flavors. The bartender really takes pride in his work and his top shelf margaritas are award winning. Watch the hours of operation. They seem to get a little antsy in the last hour before closing. I recommend, if you cant get in the door at least 1hr & 15 minutes before closing, then go elsewhere... You wont get the premium experience. Been there 4 times thus far and will continue to go. Just a tip; dont expect to see any American football or NBA on the TVs. They seem to play soccer games only.
First time visiting based on what I thought were positive reviews. The Burrito was horrible, been under heat lamp so long the bread was cracking, and could hardly cut it. The fill ing was mostly rice with little bits of chicken. The cheese enchilada was cold. Forgot the red sauce on both. The kicker was the refried beans, in a bowl that literally was like soup, could not eat it with a fork as it stranded through.Having eaten at most Mexican restaurants in Charlotte, this place didnt even rate a one .Two bites pushed the food back, waitress saw I was not eating it. Asked if I wanted the bill, not why I was leaving before eating.Simply paid the bill, tipped the waitress and chalked it up as bad selection.I really wonder if some of the great reviews are fake.
We took our family of 8 adults and 6kids who ate from the menu for a holiday meal. My husband and I have eaten here before and it was good. However it took 1 hour before I finally asked when we would get our food of tacos and rice and beans. Other tables got their food before us who came in well after us. The food was tasteless and the chicken taco had very little chicken cut in squares and no cheese. The beans and rice were brought on large platters separately for 1 order at $2.50 each. It was flavorless. The waitress was nice but did not tell us of the options for a smaller serving of sides and who serves tacos without cheese? I called to let the manager know about this bad experience and he was unavailable for my first 2 calls. When I did reach him he was not accommodating at all. Bad customer service. I don’t think we’ll be back.
First visit. Large resturant. Servers were attentive and food came out quick. Probably some of the best guacamole Ive had, very fresh. They had an assortment of sauces that came out with chips, mild to somewhat spicy. Over all a great restaurant for Mexican cuisine.
First time there had a great time lunch specials waitress was very friendly I will go again
We be Saturday night, to expect spend good money with all my family member , one oh my brother was on shorts they security guys decline refueled to let go in them we despised never back this place , because they charge each one for enter , is ridículos what can dangerous was simple short with one my own family, that’s why we never back there rules it’s not fair, I posted on instagram , twister , Facebook and papernews local about this they loss to meaning client
It was definitely the service for me! The hostess, management, and wait staff were all pleasant & so friendly from the moment we arrived until we left. If you enjoy Mexican candy, there’s a wonderful selection in the little candy shoppe. The food was good. One of the better Elotes I’ve had in Charlotte!
Service and the food are always great!
Were fairly well traveled. It was great to discover excellent authentic Mexican food (alongside the usual American Mexican restaurant offerings). We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversations with the entire staff. Our waitress was attentive, and Jose was very gracious and personable. Our only regret is were just passing through the area and are unable to visit on a regular basis. Thank you for our amazing meals, and for making us feel welcome!
Food was up to par, it was really salty, and I had to send it back. The service was good as usual. Always good surroundings and people.
We ordered 3 chimichanga plates…I have been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants around the country and in Mexico…it’s always shredded chicken…they had grilled cut up chicken in it…was gross!! The margarita was great though! Also the waitress was rude from the very beginning! We literally ate half or less of each plate because it was terrible…we didn’t complain at the restaurant because it was my birthday and I just didn’t want the drama but I won’t go back!!
Food was good, and it didnt take long to come. Server was super polite, but she wasnt really able to really explain our questions about the menu. Me and my wife will be back at some point since we live kind of close to the restaurant
The food here is great, authentic! Id love to give it another star, but our service has been should i say odd and questionable during our last two visits. However I can say the male management was concerned and attempted to make things right.
We order our food to pick up and when we got home the order was completely a mess. The gave us the wrong tortillas, we.specically ask for flour tortillas. The fajitas we more onion and peppers than meat the the shrimp still had their shells on them. The chimchanga had nothing inside of them but shrimp. Normally when I have order chimichanga in other place everything comes inside of it. At least the basic stuff. The fried beans was soggy and water down. This was a wasted of $57.75. Worst Mexican food I ever ate. Will never order food or go back there. Very disappointed!
This place has a great family atmosphere..it is owned by local people from what I can gather. The wait staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I particularly am not a fan of spicy cuisine however I make an exception to myself just for this place. Great food excellent bar...will recommend to anyone from the whole family or just a few drinks to watch the game or shoot some pool..
Food was great. The service was exceptional.
I called in and placed a to order that consisted of a chicken chimichanga with extra cheese and pico, a steak and chicken fajita with corn wrap. Before I left the restaurant the manager checked my order. I get home which is about a 10 minute drive and get take a everything out and start eating but my husband noticed he didn’t have his corn wrap. Immediately I was like you have to be kidding me. I called and told the manger what happen and if they could make my entire order over. No apology but he said that it would take 25 minutes and to bring the food back. So we decided that we would eat there and my food was ready and I told the manger that we prefer to eat in to make sure our food is correct. Still no apology but he had one of her waitresses seat us. We requested plates and waited for a few minutes then my husband went over and spoke to the manager. The manager came over with a water for my husband and asked me what I would like to drink. Assuming it was on the house after we finished eating the waitress asked if I was ready for the bill for my drink. We asked to speak with the manager but he would not come back over to the table after requesting him to speak with him. My husband took the bill and headed straight to the manger. I stood off the side and they talked. It’s not about the bill it’s about the overall customer service and making sure your customers are satisfied and APOLOGIZING for the mishap and assuring they will do what is necessary to prevent this type of incident will not happen again. I will not step foot back into this place of business again!!!! My advice is check your to go orders before you leave.
Fantastic, fresh made food. Abundant flavors in every bite. Great prices. Outstanding service from our waitress who was extremely friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the mariachi band and the extra flare they added to the visit. A new go-to spot. Above all else, the reason to visit is the food.
What an absolute find this place was. Easy parking, very clean and lively lovely interior decor. The staff was welcoming and very pleasant. Prices were good on just about everything. Oh and the food, genuine, authentic, flavorful. They have different events throughout the week and it is clear the place probably really gets hopping..Do yourself a favor, make sure you give this Steele Creek gem a try...
Love this place!!! The outside seating is great to hangout and chill… Our weekly Tacos Tuesday after Volleyball, their beef tongue taco is my favorite!!! 😁 Good tres leches cake as well 👍
I had their delivery during lockdown but went to the restaurant to meet a friend and it was quiet when we first arrived. But as we approached noon it got super busy. The food is fantastic and the prices are about what I expected for most Mexican restaurants.
The place and food are ok but it was too noisy I couldnt hear what my friends were saying... I felt rushed to order and leave and the mariachis kept coming back to our table. Not the place to go and visit with your friends.
After moving from Greensboro 3 years ago I have been looking for a replacement to my Fav La Bama on High Point Road. Not once but more that 5 time have I visited La Poblantita my husband and I love it. We are always full and satisfied. Only till now I have had a very very bad experince. 👎. I came in by myself right before 3pm. There was only one customer at the bar who walked out not long after I walked in. Noone else was sitting in the establishment. Walked in and stood there as 4 in site waitress played on their phones. 2 waitires were hehind the bar one who ened up seating me look up at me muilple times from.her phone while I just stood there.. Only to address when when another black customer came in behind me as if we are together. She even asked me was it 2.. I said No. You saw me walk in alone its just one( the other customer was picking up togo order). I had to asked for the sauces/dip that normally came from the start with the table. I started to chung the beer to notice draft beer taste stale and sour and like the tap line have not been clean or the beer was expring.. I was told smartly that when dont change beer bc Ive already drank it. But they gave me the bottle. Lets just say if Im sick after this I know where it came from. I asked for my food to be extra Crispy.. only for it to arrive cold but not as ive ordered many time before it. Now I knew if I said anything it would have became a seen on my end like I was the disruptive customer. But when a couple walked in they were greate quickly seated, got their food hot, didnt have to ask for anything and even had the staff sitting with them. Two other routes walked in. Only only did they didnt not have to ask for anything that I had to request of they were given it automatically from the moment they sat down with out hesitation. No customer should ever be treat differently or less because they are not Spanish... yes I know this review wont hurt the sales.. money is till to be made but I hope my honest option will show that All nationally deserve the same respect not just the ones u favor after. I wont be coming back and I rrally.hate that bc I have had good and great waiter who didnt speak a lick of English here give me the best service that normal american establishments. Dont let the bad one mess it up for the good ones who do good service. But those girls need a dose of reality and attituded check. But mostly not to state your customer down and walk by like they are being rushed to get out by your cleaning staff.
Best Mexican food in NC most authentic food I’ve eaten so far. The food was amazing and so fulfilling as they serve their food in large portions. Waitresses actually speak Spanish unlike some other places. Will be coming back to this place whenever I’m in Charlotte.
The best ever food I have in recent year. They have put lor of meat and the quality and taste are really good. Will order again. No other Mexican restaurant for me!!
Great food, tamales were tasty and salsa was solid. Service seemed a little slow for being relatively empty post lunch rush but regardless will definitely be back. Also looks like the bar is well stocked, will def come back for a drink one night soon.
Andrea was very helpful and had a bright cheery smile.
Although the building is orange, Ive passed this place for years and considered it unassuming. A spot that didnt command your attention from the street. Im upset I hadnt eaten here sooner.Excellent straight-line, Traditional Mexican food with high levels of detail and homemade ingredients. You wont find anything revolutionary or flashy here; What you will find is a focus on quality of outcome. Each item feels completely hand made where most South American/Mexican restaurants use premade items. for example...refried beans. I hate them. Here, something so seemingly simple and just a common staple to the cuisine, it was EXCELLENT. everything is superbly seasoned and rich.I can say that the prices are very reasonable and the dishes are of great value. As a hobby chef, I hate when restaurants cut corners or put too much effort in to the image, with little substance. Everything here felt and tasted house made as you can taste each ingredient in each item (and I hope Im not wrong). I also noticed that this place accepts responsibility for any negative reviews and all the replies Ive seen good apologies without any excuse or backlash to the customer. This is a small business I will support going forward.
