One of my friends and I went there to celebrate his birthday. We are both over 21. 30 minutes after we got in, 2 bouncers went up to my friend and said he needed to go out front. We were walking out peacefully, and as we get to the front the bouncers began to punch my friend in the face and put him in a headlock for no reason at all. 2 more bouncers then proceeded to pick me up by my head and feet and carry me outside and drop me on the ground. They yelled many expletives at us during this whole ordeal. I called 911 and the officers that are stationed at coyote joes did nothing about the whole ordeal, while one of the bouncers was in my face in front of them calling me expletives. The bouncers lied and said we threw punches first but after I called a sergeant they looked at the security cameras and saw that was not true at all. They unfortunately would not arrest said bouncers for assaulting us but I will be going to the media about this incident and I will be taking this to court. This type of behavior from any bar or club is unacceptable!I have been to many bars and clubs in Charlotte and have never gotten kicked out or assaulted. I do not recommend going here EVER. The rude and aggressive bouncers ruined the entire experience.
Overall I think this is a fun bar. It might not be for everyone, but if youre from the south and like country music even a little bit, youll probably have a good time here. Seems like the place stays pretty busy and they have a lot of regulars. Plenty of dancing, live music, pool tables, bars, and even a mechanical bull. I would definitely go back.Pretty much my only gripe is that all the bars are cash only. Of course they have an ATM inside if needed, but its still pretty inconvenient and not with the times. Its also 18+, so some of the crowd can be considerably young.Again though, Id come back.
Was a little sus about the vibes here and now I know why. The place is pretty mid. They do play country and line music, but the drinks are a little more expensive than usual in the area and the staff a little ruder. Not worth the time to come. Drinks are better at idlewild and you can dance at most places in South End. Probably wouldn’t come back and there’s a cover most nights $20-30 per person
I had such high hopes but its literally the worst venue Ive ever been to. I will never come back no matter who the artist is. Tickets were way oversold. Total fire hazard. Zero room to move around. A fight waiting to happen. Sound quality was terrible. I started to leave to but somehow the sound quality got better towards the exit, and it was less crowded so I stayed. But I wish I would have left as planned since being trapped in a standstill for over 40 minutes. LOTS of improvements needed.
The owner wouldn’t let me come in with my service dog even after showing him credentials. Claimed we need to have a service dog patch that is not required but recommended by the state. this bar should be closed down if they can’t handle serving people with disability’s unethical immoral
As an 18 year old, this is the only night club I’ve ever been and will ever go to. Lots of fun, everyone is always for the most part happy. Pool, dancing, hell even a mechanical bull. Coyote Joe’s will always be the best spot in town
Im only giving this place five stars because I attended one of the most memorable raves of my life here in December of 1999. Doc Martin was a headliner in the main room. DJ Odi in the second room. I cant remember who else. It was a while ago! BUT, man, what a throw down it was!!!
This is a country music bar in Charlotte and ok as far as bars go. We were lucky enough to see Luke Combs there for the taping of Apple Music Live. The place was packed beyond capacity with no AC and the fans were barely moving. Someone in the crowd passed out from the heat on the second song and Luke had to stop the concert. Luke was awesome though.
First time at the venue and it was a blast! Great atmosphere, decor, and overall vibe. Was a tad bit crowded and really hot but that’s expected for a sold out show. Brandon is the coolest security guard I’ve ever met he did a great job all night long!
Great decor in this place and very spacious. Some areas i never even explored during the time i was there. 2 floors with plenty of pool tables, a couple lanes of cornhole boards, etc. Huge dance floor and stage with several bars. It was always quick and easy to get a drink. They dont allow you to pull tables together for your groups, or stand near the top of the stairs and some other little rules they have which get annoying when youre having a good night and getting loose when next thing you know youre getting strobed with a flashlight (their way of getting your attention) cause you find yourself breaking some kinda rule. Its a fun time tho and id definitely be back.
Terrible management and weird bouncers who want to buck up at women and instigate altercations so they can have “ fun “ for the night. The officers on duty even say they are ridiculous
The house band was great and Scotty knows how to put on a show! The bars were pretty easy to get to if you were in the front row and near the edge like I was! The staff was nice and attentive. The security was ready to deal with situations that would arise. Overall it was a great night and I hope to be back soon!
We danced with the best in Charlotte!! What a fantastic experience in such a cool atmosphere. If you ever wondered what its like to be in a country music video then join the fun at Coyote Joes! My husband and I felt so welcomed by the regulars who made sure to say hi and introduce themselves. The energy was amazing, the room was buzzing with excitement. My heart is so full! Cant wait to bring our friends and family to dance with them again asap.
Great concert venue. Very well maintained. Bouncers do not play ! If you are respectful they will respect you. But if you are drunk and causing a scene ..they will show you the door quick.
If I had to pick a place in Charlotte to get hate crimed, no better place than Coyote Joes. This is the place to see smaller country artists that are up and coming. As for the atmosphere, think stepping back into 1950, but country. If youre a white man, remember to wear sleeves. If youre a white girl, no shirt = free drinks (at least according the signs inside). If youre a minority of any kind (black, brown, gay, etc.), do not set foot into this place. Staff extremely rude, actually cursed us out. You wanna be a country bar in the city? Thats fine. Either get with the times, ditch the double standards, or get left in the past.
Great place, Ive never been for the concerts. But I like to come on Wednesdays, when they have the line dancing lessons. Its only 4 bucks for gents, and ladies are free. Drinks are also fairly priced. The only downside is that it gets a little crowded on the dancefloor, but its manageable. Great place to have a good time with a group, or alone and meet new people.
Sound system needs work but cool atmosphere and thankful to have had to opportunity to see Chayce! Only drank water so no idea on food or alcohol pricing.
Due to certain events that circulated last night, I felt the need to reach out. As soon as we got there we went to the bathroom, then i stopped by the bar to order a Long Island Iced Tea. My other friends needed to use the restroom, and we all wanted a picture together in the mirror. One of my friends picked up my drink jokingly for a prop in the picture; her lips never touch the drink. (we have proof) This girl cannot even drink due to a condition she has. I am the mentor of our friend group, i’m 21 but i wouldn’t influence them to drink in a public place like that. We proceeded to walk out the ladies room, There were three LARGE men waiting for us at the exit.. but we did not know who they were for. But then he proceeded to point at me and my friend and says “YOU and YOU, WITH ME” literally yelling at us, he takes my long island iced tea and CHUCKS it into the trash. then he continues to walk us out; rushing to the exit. When we get to the door he rips my bracelet with unnecessary force. My wrist literally hurts. Then proceeds to do the same to my friend who is african american, and she felt targeted all night. Then proceeds to tell us to leave and is talking about it with other workers while we were right there. that is extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. The guard was rude and didn’t even take a second to listen to anything i had to say. Had we actually done something wrong, then I wouldn’t be complaining and would take that accountability. It’s just the fact that all he said to me when I respectfully questioned what was going on “ we have under covers” not to mention the actual underage drinking problem y’all have. I understand they have a job to do, but maybe notbe so rough with young girls. I usually love Joes but i probably won’tbe back for awhile.
We saw Drake Milligan at Coyote Joes on April 5th 2024.I have never seen anything close to Billy Bobs in Texas until I walked in here. The lovely and talented dancers were FANTASTIC!The house band was one of the best and so very entertaining with many genres of songs. The main attraction Drake Milliganand Band were all that we could have hoped for!!! Greatness Abound! He is an extremely talented young man!Thank you so much Coyote Joes...my sister and I traveled from Little River SC to hear Drake and the Band and I will tell everyone how GREAT this place is.Thanks much...Donna and Joan
Me and my man had a really fun time here when we’ve been! I love the atmosphere and there’s a lot to do. Pool, cornhole, bull riding, dancing. It’s also a good place to have some drinks and people watch 😉 service has always been friendly.
Ive been when ot was great for a concert, as well as a sold out one (last night) and it was awful. I believe they over sell tickets. Too many kids. Way too many people. I wont be back for anyone popular.
Had an awesome time last night. This was our first time at Coyote joes and we had an absolute blast. First off the bars were ready and flowing and the drinks were the perfect blend. We grabbed our drinks and hit the dance floor to secure our spot for the oncoming show. THE HOUSE BAND KILLED IT. various songs from various artist and every one was shredded by the electric guitarist (Steve) I believe his name was. WE WILL BE COMING BACK. 3 hour trip to see Priscilla Block and we had such a great time we are already talking about our next trip to Coyote Joes !!!!!
We attended last nights Dylan Scott concert the show was great for what we got to see of it. Coyote Joes was so hot and Smokey in there that we ended up leaving almost an hour early and we will not be going back for any future concerts until they do renovations. The place is a dump it still has 70s era wall paneling, smells like a straight smokers lounge, people were smoking inside the place vs going outside right in front of the security guards, the bathrooms are outdated, theyre AC system is not adequate enough for the amount of people they had at the concert last night you could only feel it working in certain areas of their facility. Even Dylan Scott said the place needed to turn the AC on, for how large the facility is they are still using old outdated 36 inch house ceiling fans from the 70s, They say they sold out the place but there were so many people in there everybody was literally on top of each other like in a mosh pit at a heavy metal concert, There was a girl near my group that got hit in the face by accident because how tightly packed everybody was and she end up leaving from what we could hear her friends say, we were not the only ones that left a hour early there was lots of people leaving early at the same time we did. By the time we left we are all agreed we will not come back until Coyote Joes does renovations on the place
Its a great place to go. But the drunks can be awful knocking people out the way ( older even in wheelchairs). I do think security needs to tighten down on people throwing gum, spitting, etc. So immature.
Really cool place for a concert! Came down to see Chase Mathew last weekend and loved it!! Awesome house band as well, definitely would go back!
Fun, excellent run country bar with plenty of line dancing and swing dancing!
Fun place to go to learn line dances. Wednesday night is half cover fee for men and free for women, lessons start at 7:30 house band comes on around 9:30 and plays sets till 2:00. Overall amazing time and weekends are a lot of fun.
Okie this has been my fav spot for years. Country club. 7$ entrance. They are a cash only place so make sure you have enuf cash and they do have an ATM inside. Drinks only and food Is not served here. They do usually have a food truck at the entrance. Rr were clean. They do have a big patio outside too and a big bull inside to ride on. What I have failed to understand over the years is the dang air conditioning. I literally had gone and raised my hand to the vents and there was no cold air blasting out. It is indeed the carolina summer season. We werent even dancing. Anywho, still on the list of my fav places. Words of wisdom - casual dressing and yes, a pair of shorts and tanks top is best and take a hand fan. The foldable kinds. Yes, I have 1. Lol
Last time I went I was told to get off the dance floor by some guy all bc it was my first time n when I jumped in it was mid song but I caught on real fast but it just messed up my whole experience here. I love to dance been dancing since I was a little girl. But if ppl gonna be Rude about other ppl dancing then it isnt worth it. Dont see no one judging them when they decided to come for the first time. 💯 havent been back n dont plan on it. So you plan on dancing here i wouldnt unless u go to Tuesday nights to learn their dances as I was told. Ppl here are Rude as hell. I grow up n Charlotte till I was 16 never in my life have I experienced so much rudeness. Only thing to do here is sit n drink cant dance or have fun. Definitely dont recommend anyone to come here if they are looking to have a good time n dance.
The way they treat their guests is completely unacceptable. Me and a few friends came there and started socializing like normal people. Either the workers were having a bad day or they had too much people inside but we got swarmed by 6 men who started arguing and demanding us to leave for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. Even tho we were respectfully kept talking to them, they completely disrespected us as a group and kicked us out completely. And they did not refund us!!! Highly don’t recommend going here!!!
A very fun place to dance and hangout with friends, especially if you enjoy country music! You don’t have a to a country fan or “cow girl” attire like I thought you would to fit in. Many different people come to dance and have fun here. The drinks are well priced and the dance floor lessons are so much fun. They offer them every Wednesday night 7:30-9! You get to learn three dances, and don’t worry if you don’t have any experience, you will get the hang of it! The venue is very large, with plenty of sitting/standing areas, and a mechanical bull! They also have tons of gravel parking (free) and outdoor lounging areas. A very fun place to hang out!
Had a terrible experience with the staff. They were very hateful towards me and my friends and we felt very unsafe because of them
The music was awesome. The staff was friendly, and the service at the bar was fast. The drink prices were very reasonable. My friends and I had a great time, and we will return.
My friends and I went out for a birthday outing and payed the $7 that was due then all of a sudden, after 4 mins I had security all over me. Unbelievable!!! Security told me that some girl (who we learned works for them) in the restroom told them that I was drunk and “couldn’t hang”even though I hadn’t drank anything all night and just got there. When I asked the bouncers what happened, they never answered!! I’ve never felt more disrespected in my life. I will not be EVER coming back!!!!!!!!
Went with my family and we all enjoyed ourselves. The bouncers were really nice, even when I was told not to smoke inside. Really like the fact that I was able to bring my food inside. Drinks were fare priced and everyone line dancing together was a nice sight to see. Will go back soon!!!!
This place is a blast, never a bad time. Concert nights are jam packed. People always dancing. Bull ride, corn hole, pool and cold beer. If you dont like it, its not for you.
Super cool place, probably the most fun you can have if youre in Charlotte, NC. Massive facility with what I think was at least 4 or 5 bars downstairs, as well as an upstairs, pool tables, a mechanical bull, a huge dance floor, a performer stage, and a smoking patio thats attached so that you dont have to physically go outside for nicotine needs.Atmosphere was pretty friendly, Wednesday was ladies night so it was fairly busy, but not crowded. There were maybe 300 people there and it still looked like it could easily house twice that much. One of the bartenders did accuse me of being from New Jersey, which grievously wounded my pride, but I recovered eventually.
Ive been here a few times with several friends and my wife. Waiting for a drink is pretty quick, usually a food truck is outside, pool tables upstairs are great. The free line dancing classes are great! Very pleasant staff and crowd.
Great place for a concert. No food, drinks are a little high and cash only. Some of the staff is extremely rude and others are very nice.
DONT GO! Walked the border of the dance floor with a beer in my hand not drunk at all and got legit tossed out of the bar for having a drink on the dance floor. They care more about the 18 year old kids that go there then anyone else. Don’t waste your time or money going to this place it’s a waste of time.
Seems more like the church of line dancing zombies. We were expecting a country bar with live music and instead we witnessed a bunch of line dancers that hog the entire dance floor and expect you to not get in their way to dance. Well, that aint my game skippy. I have a right to dance where I want and you can do your store bought dancing around me. Yall look ridiculous btw.
Was decent good music got there late cause we wasnt sure what to do was gonna go to one place but they had a event going on. Would visit again for the live music. More on the younger aged people though.
Dont go here for concerts. This is just a place to go with friends and people watch or line dance. We go here to listen to country music but oddly they randomly play pop and hip-hop which totally kills the vibe.
Horrible venue - literally a storage facility. Bad service/ very unpleasant staff. Seems like they would rather serve underage kids than people over 21.
Good vibes, very old country atmosphere, to be expected though. Bouncers everywhere and no vaping inside. They check purses but not pockets (they make you take your stuff out but don’t make sure that your pockets are actually empty), although they do metal detect you. Do NOT bring a fake ID, it’s double checked by 2 people and it will be taken.
So this was only my 2nd time being there. First time we saw Chris Lane which was a really great show. But people start pilling in and it’s gets beyond hot and everybody is rude. We saw Dylan Scott which was on 3/31/23 and it was so hot I had to go outside and so did many others. Also you can’t see anything cause people just stand in front of you and are to drunk to move or care. Fun place but a lot of things need to change in order for it to be better. Need to limit the people that go in and limit drinks so people don’t get so drunk they can’t think.
My friends and I went here for the very first time, and it was a lot of fun! Full disclosure though - we were amateurs on the dance floor! They teach on Wednesdays, but on the other nights, you just have to keep up, which was easy sometimes and hard others, haha! You may want to YouTube line dancing before coming if you want to dance well! They also have a mechanical bull and a coat check! One thing they didnt have was food, which was weird, since they served alcoholic beverages! There was a food truck outside though, which we didnt know until after we left. We will definitely go back another time!
This place is the worst bar I’ve ever step foot into. We were visiting Charlotte and heard Coyote Joes was a fun bar to visit. We came in for 15 minutes and out of nowhere several bouncers came up and hit my boyfriend and knocked me down in the meantime. We have absolutely no idea what caused this, our only guess is that they are racist because we have seen several similar reviews about minorities having a similar experience. I wish I could rate this place a negative 10 this is seriously the worst experience at a bar I’ve ever had and we are considering legal action
Make sure to bring cash for any of the drinks at the bar! Bartenders were super nice whenever I asked for a drink. Music is on the older side, but as a kid who grew up listening to it, a lot of fun! Had so much fun on the dance floor with my friends and the band was great
Favorite bar in Charlotte. Beers tasted great.
Very interesting experience! There’s bull riding in the back, line dances taught on Wednesdays, country environment but all seem welcome and can fit in! Definitely a younger crowd on the weekends. Make sure you take cash! Not a great area so walk in pairs to and from your car… but overall a good time!
As far as a country concert I don’t recommend coming here. We went to see Hardy last night and I’m beyond disappointed. I love Hardy and was super excited to see him but the venue was SO over packed. People were getting trampled on, there was no where to stand or walk. Staff was incredibly rude, when there was a tiny bit of space to stand in the walk way so you weren’t getting trampled on the staff would yell at you to move and say you can’t stand here, forcing you to go back to getting pushed and shoved. It should not have been this over packed especially since Hardy is playing 3 nights in a row. And don’t even bother showing up to the event early to get a good view up front, we were outside waiting in the rain for 4 hours, we were clearly some of the first people but when it came time to open the doors they made 7 different lines and the people that had just gotten in the line got to go first. Highly don’t recommend this place for concerts. Staff was rude and we had to leave early after the second song of Hardy’s due to there being no room to breathe, as well as alot of other people were leaving. Hardy i love you and I’m really sad that this horrible experience at Coyote joes made me waste my time and money. Couldn’t even enjoy the experience because of the management at this establishment.
Need new security was upset was I was smiling and sitting on the beach and said something about my mom after the kick me off for false accusations of being drunk I have a broke leg
The bouncers are on a power trip. These guys have no life outside of the bar and clearly abuse their power inside the bar to impress the females. Several of the grown men love to hug up on the 18yo females. They are terrible people. -20 ⭐️
This is the worst place for a concert in Charlotte or anywhere else. A 100% fire hazard because they fill well over capacity and no one can move. Hotter than hell and rude bartenders with cash only option. Why anyone would go there is beyond me! I swore I would never go back but because of Luke Combs and it being a priority night I did. Only supposed to be about 2000 people and it was filled to the gills! Not a fun experience ever! So many people were leaving before the first intermission because it was so hot so crowded and just not enjoyable at all. Charlotte needs to investigate the capacity of this venue. if I had had to pay for this the other night I would be even madder. I have paid for plenty it has not changed not one bit!!! The worst place ever to see a concert. If you go consider I warned you.
I got kicked out for having a drink in my hand. (Keep in mind I’m half black). Went there a second time and they still gave me problems for no reason. Great place to drink but staff is too much, and think they own the world :)
Disrespectful will never go back after being wrongly accused of underage drinking! They claimed to have watched us for ten minutes but only said something when we were leaving! The bartender upstairs gave my friend and I clear cups ( we are 19) and the only thing other than A SUNDROP AND A COKE that was purchased was by our 24 year old boyfriends which were beers in bottles! Which we never touched! And my friend left her half full cup (sundrop) with a bouncer which could have been easily tasted!! So disrespectful will never be back!
I’ve seen a few concerts here over the years, most recently last night for Scotty McCreery. The show sold out a couple days before the show. I love having a country bar in town where I can slap on my Stetson and listen to live country music. We’ve seen Jon Pardi, Mark Chestnut/Tracy Byrd, and others. That being said, something changed over the last couple years and they pack way too many people in the bar for shows. My wife and I lasted for about 3 songs last night before we called it quits. They used to have tables/chairs just behind the dance floor on the ground level where you could sit and watch shows. This also helped to reduce the wall-to-wall shoulder-to-shoulder “pit” feel of a show. They now have removed the tables and chairs and just pack people in as tight as possible like a mosh pit. I have to wonder if they’re paying off the fire marshal to get this many people in the building. I get it- make as much $ as possible. Can’t blame them I suppose. It was 30 degrees out last night, but I was simply standing in the same place for 2 hours, not moving, and sweating in a long sleeve Ariat shirt/jeans. Having said all this, consider the source. I’m 50 years old, and while I fondly remember my clubbing days where I might not have minded this scenario, my wife and I were joking that we make too much $ to endure being pushed around a hot bar while people push through the crowd to go to the bathrooms, get a beer, etc. We’ll go to Vegas to see those country acts in a small setting. Am I old and crotchety now? Maybe, but I still see lots of live music. I read recent bad reviews and chuckled to myself that the sources must have been crabby or people who just love to complain for no reason….Well, after last night, I think they’re right. I guess the key is to see someone that hasn’t “made it” yet and doesn’t draw a sell out. If we come back back I’ll buy tickets the day before to confirm it’s not a sellout.
Its a great place to find someone, sort of like a meat market :)
Best bar around! One crazy night 7 years ago I stumbled into this bar and ever since the man of my future connected his soul to my heart. Bartenders are amazing, drinks are amazing and the house.band is legit the best around! Xo Coyotes forever n the future!
Best establishment for the past 33 years and I look forward to as many as I can, for the next years to come.#HomeClub #ForTheLoveOfDance
The wife and I went to see Lainey Wilson and was excited to see her but could not sit at certain tables because they were vip seats at $300 per table. Could not walk thru to leave and didnt get to see her full performance. This place had to many people in there. Wont be going back ever.
This place is very racist. They checked my black friend multiple times to see if he was 21 while barely paying attention to me or the other white people who entered. They also had someone sit and watch me and my friend the entire time and continuously came over to “investigate”. Coyote joes was anything but welcoming and I suggest you pick somewhere else.
Great place to meet new people. The youngest Bouncer had good customer service and answered any questions you have about coyote Joes. Lots of beautiful women, but the other bouncers need to learn customer service and how to assist customers and patrons when theyre new to the establishment.
Been there several times last few yrs, not a regular, a little too far to travel regularly but have been well pleased each time! & the fact they dont gouge on beer & drinks is very rare & basically unheard of especially when its some of the bigger names they have 👌👍
I went to Cyote joes and got sick! A nice man working outside gave me a bottle of water, a rag, a trash can and even gave me a Togo bag in case I got sick in the car! Great place with an amazing staff! I Will be there every weekend!
Coyote Joes is where everybody goes! The atmosphere is delightful. The music is always of elite quality. The drinks are reasonably priced. The staff are unique. The events are beyond expectations. And their taco truck in the parking lot is to absolutely show up for! I always recommend this venue. ♡
I guess this would be obvious to most people but don’t go there unless you’re a country dude. The staff are all Patrick Swayze roadhouse wannabe’s. They told me to pull my pants up or leave and they were at my waist line already? I guess it was just how I was dressed I’m not really sure I wear tight jeans and all black so maybe I just didn’t fit the image. I didn’t want to go in the first place it was my birthday and the girls I was with wanted to go so I gave in but it was exactly how I thought it would be, so we left and went to the pickle in Dallas another country bar but a lot more friendly.
This place is really cool, Im a bit of a introvert myself so crowds, bars, ext arent my thing. But past my personal preference this place is the spot for any southern guy or gal that wants to drink and feel at home. They constantly have awesome headliners coming and playing. They honestly have out grown there Current building very cramped on busy nights. I also was a fan of the ignorant rude women running the front desk, just a total b****. But other than that it was awesome.
Staff is clearly racist. Don’t waste your time going to this over crowded, filthy, trashy place. We were removed from our so called VIP table… ha…ha…what a joke. , lots of wannabe drunk “cowboys“ starting trouble. So they remove the people who may look of a different nationality or race. This place is employed and filled with a bunch of clowns.
Ive been going to Coyote Joes since I turned 18 (now 22) and it is a great bar. The service has always been excellent. If you go for their 1-2-3 nights it might take a few extra minutes to get your drinks (which are super cheap even on regular nights), but thats because so many people show up to party. The concerts there are always awesome, and you cant beat how cheap their ticket prices are for pretty much all of them. Ive been to at least 5 concerts there and Ive never had a complaint. The other reviews Ive seen about the bouncers being rough or management not caring are certainly surprising. Yeah sure theyve had to escort people out some of the times Ive been there but that was because they were clearly very drunk and trying to start fights. That or they were removing underage drinkers (which is stupid on its own). Ive seen drunken girls swing and shove at the bouncers and the guys handled her in an appropriate way. Needless to say, I love this bar and will gladly keep going. Dont let a few bad reviews ruin this bar for you. If youre in the Charlotte area and love country music, this is definitely a bar you need to check out!
Very bad service, disrespectful security. I dont recommend it!
So I lost my best friend… and I called the bar just to let them know what she looked like and they said they can’t help me. Thank God I found her, but the fact that the bartender said she can’t help me is astonishing to me. Don’t loose grip here. Keep your eyes on your friends.
A one of a kind bar in the Charlotte area. Unfortunately they also know that so they do whatever they want. Staff can be rude at times and seem adverse to diversity. They are also “not allowed” to serve tap water which I think is absurd and irresponsible of a bar.
Paid $7 cover to enter at 7pm they played music from 1970-1980’s for 2 1/2 straight hours. They must have 45’s or eight track tapes. Only 9 different people danced on the large empty floor. Music terrible, not engaging. Good for old people not younger crowd. Can’t even line dance to these tunes. Need to up grade music. Do nit suggest to come here.
Blonde, old lady with glasses that works as a cashier upcharged me when I’m over 21 when she charged my friends a lower price while we’re all the same age as we were entering. She was a little rude towards me. Definitely someone needs to have a employee review on her. Can’t be having people like her working for an amazing place like coyote joe’s.
I came for the concert on Nov. 16th. 4 bands. Chris Young, Randy Houser, Walker Hayes. Our tickets stated it would start at 8. Nothing happened until 9. Too many tickets were sold. Not everyone was able to be in the room with the stage. The outside but covered area didnt even have the concert on the tvs. It was no one on the mechanical bull. This place has no idea how to put on a show. It sucked from beginning to end.
This is the worst place ever to go, plus this man in the picture is so racist and his whole security team, should be ashamed of them selves, be on alert if your not white they will attack you! Trust no one! We were trying to leave, 3 men started talking junk, i went to go get help and the security guard attacted my Spanish boyfriend and 5 other security guards came over not to help us but to hurt us, Not only did they attack my spanish boyfriend, they were punching him in the ribs, one was choking him until he fell to the ground unconsious , while he was on the gound they were kicking him in his back n ribs n his face! I had no clue what to do. Since i went to get help 1st time and they turned on us so all i did was record them why we were trying to leave so the guy in the picture then comes after me since i was recording what they did! Try to grab me and my phone since i recorder everything they did! So the off duty cops tell us we are trespassing and that we need to leave I guess coyote joes pays them well to look the other way, No help at all! These so call security guards have another thing coming because GOD doesnt like ugly people!
Great venue with multiple bars for a fun night out. However its not so fun when big acts play there. They oversell the events which leads to dangerous, massive overcrowding. Last big event I went to I thought getting a VIP table would better our experience. This wasnt the case in that staff didnt regulate who was coming in and out of the VIP area. I spent our whole night arguing with random people who tried to sit at our table. I notified staff but nothing was done about it. Never again.
One of my favorite night clubs. Its always a good time!
I will never be coming back. This place is way to over crowded. You cant move at all and it is very hard to see the stage from certain spots. Everyone will push you out of their way and of course this leads to fights. Staff was very rude and unhelpful. I waited 2 hours to speak to the manager and never got to speak to him. The only staff member that would even acknowledge me was a bouncer named Perry who was helpful other than that everyone just ignores you if you need something other than a beer.
The premier country music club/bar on the east coast. Great venue that offers live music every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday with Out of the Blue, the house band. Concert tickets typically run no more than $20. Ladies night and free dance lessons every Wednesday. And the drinks are fairly cheap compared to uptown. Only drawbacks really are that the bars are cash only(ATMs inside) and that it gets pretty crowded during concerts, making it pretty hot inside.
I usually do not go out but I was convinced to try out coyote joes. I decided to be DD for a couple friends and enjoy the night. After a while of being inside, I was told to leave because it “seemed” I had too much to drink. This was such a shock to me because I was COMPLETELY sober and the staff member insisted i leave or they would take further action. I was in disbelief but I did not want any trouble so I took my friends home after that happened. Safe to say, I will not be returning here.
Two friends and I traveled from Greensboro to Charlotte to visit experience Coyote Joe’s. It was z great bar , the staff was very friendly. It’s a good size bar. The only complaint I had was if you didn’t line dance forget it cause that’s all they do. Man that’s not dancing. Dancing is getting on the floor and feeling the music. The band was good but only half the people there were dancing. I could see the men n women wishing they could get out n dance. Mabey set aside a nite for dancing, cause that’s what people go there’ for n if they can’t they won’t be back
Guy at the door to let people in was rude and seemed like he wasn’t down w the brown. Environment isn’t set up for the younger crowd. The lady at the bar didn’t even have the ingredients to make me an old fashioned (or maybe she didn’t want to serve me). This is the spot to go if you want to get a taste of the good ole 1800s.
The concert was a blast! The venue is fairly large and can accommodate a lot of rowdy Country Music fans. The parking lot is the problem. And after it rains theres a lot of messy puddles. Beer is cheap music was good.
NO GO for international students (travelers)... If you do not have an NC ID card or passport with you, you will not be able to get in. How come that police officers and every USA governmental institution are accepting foreign IDs and Coyote Joe’s not?The cashier was awesome and was trying to help us, but the security guy...“Thanks!!!”
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I tried so hard to ask the supervisor and the cops on site what the problem was and no one could give me a straight answer. My friend was sick because she is pregnant and she was not feeling good. NO ONE LISTENED......THERE WAS NOOOOOOOOOOOOO reasoning... as to why she was being berated and being kicked out. This place is absolutely unprofessional and because they have cops on site they have an abuse power. I will never EVER BE BACK, AND I WILL MEVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE. EVER.
Go to place for country dancing and great atmosphere.
I havent been there for a while. The last time I tried to get in I came after work but the witch wouldnt let me in because I had my lunch bag. I couldnt understand that because Id been there many times before and people always brought in things for different parties. There have been many times I wanted to bring friends with me, but theres no way as long as witchy poo is still there. Old blond hag.
Undoubtedly my favorite bar of all time. I also happen to live in Virginia, so coming down here is a hike. However every time I am in the area I make sure to give this place it’s due time. From mechanical bull rides, to killer bands, dancing the night away, pool tables and corn hole. This country beauty is one in a million. Bring your cowboy hat and boots and come on out for a great time.
This is a super fun place to hang out with friends, especially on Wednesday nights which is ladies night!!! They have line dancing, drink specials, corn hole, billiards, and the most fun of all, a mechanical bull!!! They have a live band and an outdoor area to socialize or smoke. They have clean restrooms, and an amazing atmosphere! This place is fun, fun, fun!!!
Went for the Luke combs show- absolute INSANE. They were definitely over capacity, the fire Marshall should have shut them down. It was so hot and so packed(like was AC even on???) people were literally having panic attacks and passing out. It was seriously so dangerous. There was one medic running back and forth trying to help people. It was impossible to find water. The disregard for human well-being was really sad. People could’ve died.
I love when they play 70s and 80s tunes 🙂
WAY too packed, very hot and it was the middle of December. If I could give this facility zero stars I would. Honestly dont think they should be able to legally sell tickets to the capacity they do
Could be a great place...but the fire marshall would have a field day over the number of people that let in/sell tickets to. Leaving the club at 12am...have not been able to leave due to traffic...it is now almost 1:20am and still in the parking lot. Have been here in the past, but will not be back any more.
Horrible experience when leaving the establishment, representatives who work for the place were not helpful or friendly to use customers. ALE agents were stationed scavenging to look for tickets, arrests, and warrants without probable cause or reason. Lack of responsibility from the establishment when witnessing a customer over-served, sickly, and on the verge of passing out. Felt very prejudice, unsafe, and unfair through out the experience. Will not be returning to this establishment.
Awesome - love the music. Huge dance floor. Most of the clubs play music for the under 30 crowd so its nice to have somewhere to go that plays something for our age! Dont change it please.
One note-i searched online everywhere including their website and no mention of a dress code. I dont do any social media, so I cannot speak for that. But luckily I took a t-shirt with me and changed from a sleeveless shirt into that. Very pleasant people working the front door as well as behind the bar.
Love love love it here definitely would come again
Had a great time enjoying a concert here. They are cash only, which was kind of annoying. I got a little intoxicated while enjoying said concert, and left my wallet. Attempted to call multiple times a day for 3 weeks, with no answer. FINALLY got ahold of someone and got it back, so take my advice...try not to lose anything of importance here.
Great place to go listen to country music. Spacious with 5 bars, a balcony area, pool tables, foosball, a mechanical bull , 5 bars, and a large dance floor. Bar is cash only buy they have ATMs in the building. This is a historical music house. The front entrance has photos of hundreds of country legends that have played there. Good security, dirt parking lot, directly on highway 74.
🖤I LOVE THIS BAR 🖤 ITS MY KIND OF PLACE 🖤IN THE WORDS OF TOBY KEITH 🖤
I frequent this bar every weekend. The atmosphere is laid back and staff is very accommodating to your needs. Very helpful and friendly.
All I wanted was to exchange my current ticket for later concert ticket & I called to ask about it & with no hesitation & no remorse Coyote Joes cut me off from explaining my situation & said we dont refund or exchange tickets . . . & not sorry thank you have a good night or ANYTHING. So I said OK Thanks for listening. So now I have lost $45 that I easily could have exchanged for another ticket to the same place just a different performer. Its a shame they are that ridiculous! & Its also a shame I have gone there several several several times for concerts & have brought several friends out there to have a good time. They have had many occasions where Ive spent money there & the one time I have food poisoning & cant do anything about my tickets. . . .
Pretty cool place, went there for a concert. It was way over capacity. The crowd was shoulder to shoulder and beer bottles and drinks was all over the floor. Might be a okay place on a average night. But i will never go back during a concert.
I had one drink and felt extremely out of it for the entire night and have been throwing up since then. I think the bar tender spiked my drink and will not be returning. Women patrons please watch your drink at Coyote Joes
Okie this has been my fav spot for quite a long time. Nation club. 7$ passage. They are a money just spot so ensure you have enuf money and they do have an ATM inside. Beverages just and food Is not served here. They do for the most part have a food truck at the passageway. Rr were perfect. They do have a major porch outside as well and a major bull inside to ride on. What I have neglected to comprehend throughout the years is the darn cooling. I in a real sense had proceeded to lift my hand to the vents and there was no virus air impacting out. It is for sure the carolina summer season. We werent in any event, moving. Anywho, still on the rundown of my fav places. Useful tidbits - relaxed dressing and indeed, some shorts and tanks top is ideal and take a hand fan. The foldable sorts. Indeed, I have 1. Haha
We have been going to Coyote Joes for 25 years especially when Tracy Lawrence has been there, hes our favorite. Never missed him .Use to have a wonderful time. However I think Im done. We always go very early because I cant stand all night,so, we get there a few hours early this past Saturday to get the table we want.Only fair right? Wrong, all the good tables were reserved. Evidently money talks instead of loyal customers. Also 103.7 radio people were the most rude people I have ever met.The money this place brings in is ridiculous considering the sound. The artists speaking could not even be understood.I guess in a nutshell,I would have to say was the worst experience in my 25 years of going to Coyote Joes.I would not recommend it to anyone.
Went to Coyote Joes on January 3 2020 to see Colt Ford. The place was huge . 4 or 5 bars in the building. Very nice people. Had a wonderful time and the show was amazing eventhough Colt Ford was not feeling well he still pulled out a hell of a show. Will return.
Excited to come here for my first time line dancing. Power went out. No electrician to fix it for almost 2 hours. They told their teachers for line dancing to go home and didn’t even ask them to come back. So I just had to watch a bunch of experienced dancers do really hard dances no one could catch up with. Hula hooping contest was a waste watching and when I asked if I could do it they said you had to be nominated ? But you’re power went out .... CASH ONLY. As well. Not the worst. But can improve.
Had a great night at Coyote Joes the weekend of 11/30/12! Everyone was rather friendly, drinks werent too pricey and Corey Smith put on a great show! I do have a complaint, and a fairly serious one at that. At the end of the night I had stepped outside to gather the people I came with since we were about to leave and the bar was closing in 30 minutes or so. I took 2 steps out the back door and turned to check behind me to see if my friend was following me and the bouncer guarding the door grabbed me, a thin framed 22 year old woman, by the arm and forcefully pushed me even further back into the railing off to the right. I never made an attempt to go back in, only turned to see if my friend was there. I still have bruises from his fingers wrapping around my arm, and from me hitting the railing on the stairs that he pushed me against. I understand this may be normal tactics for ridding your bar of drunk / obnoxious people, but I in no way-shape or form was doing anything to cause to be treated that way. Ive been stewing on writing a review for a little over a week now, but after reading where other people have felt abused by the staff, I feel as though I needed to voice my concern as well. That was my first and last time at Coyote Joes. Im not one to go to clubs anyways, so I doubt I would have been back in the first place, but I definitely wont be back to see what other physical pain the staff can inflict on costomers. Let alone...women.
Do y’all know actual country line dances?Or Just the same dance to 12 different songs? And not taking requests, kinda lame.
Had a ball last night ...sorry hearing a Monkees song at a country bar got me kicked out lol...I was totally not expecting to here a song by my favorite band ever (obviously my profile picture) it was great and so worth getting in trouble for though...greatest band last night.... thank you guys for being amazing.. You just needed a solid gold dancer doing the Davy Jones ,Axel Rose... He would of been proud :) Sorry to the staff that I was such a troublemaker...I am usually a well behaved, grandmother.... till I Monkee around of course :)
First time going. Absolutely would recommend. Last night was awesome some of the best music Ive heard. Artist absolutely nailed it and gave the crowd the best performance .
If I could do 0 stars I would use to be beat country bar for music to go to came all the way from lincolton see kip Moore got here early doors open 7 get in no tables available all chain off for vip or country music stattiin that were empty all night the worst part they played rock roll of radio until 1030 three hours kip cover at 1030 kip on at 1120 worst ever experience dont waste your money on this place
Love when they have country music singers come like Tyler Farr, Brentley Gilbert and so many others. Josh combs, Kane Brown, Jason Aldean.BEST PLACE IN Charlotte NC to go and have a great time, shoot pool and listen to some good music.
Great place for medium size show. Cold beer and the bar tenders were nice and efficient. A great venue for live music.
This place is awful. Cars get messed with in the parking lot. Nasty women running around looking for a drunk man to try to get free drinks . They have security but do not wand or send people thru metal detectors which in todays time is a must . Wouldnt advise anyone to go here no way never again . Too many people against fire regulations. If a fire or a gun was in the building lots of people would be hurt
Still bringing in great performancesGetting out of parking lot is slow according to my daughter she sat in running car after leaving Scotty McCreery concert early for over an hour to get out on Wilkinson Blvd.Plan and dress appropriately ... just imagine ...
Over crowded! Can’t see the artist that’s performing. What’s the point of paying for tickets? I can alway listen to their songs on the radio. Never going back. Waste of my money and time🙄🙄🙄
Love this place! Everytime i come out i have a great time. Fast service at the bar even though the house is always packed. Great bands great atmosphere
Its pretty good. But staff should be nicer too the ones that are nice. I can understand the ones that had too much to drink need a harsh bouncer. But above all love the place.
Good place nd great armosphere but bartenders arent that great. Went to get beers for me n some friends n they told me one at a time but yet there were people every where walking away with more than one.
Sucks. Had tickets for the Aaron Lewis show for weeks ahead. Got there early at 7:15 to get a table. None to be found because they were all roped off for VIP seats. Had no idea they were doing this. Money hungry jerks. Will never be back.
Best beer prices in town (cash only though..)! Had a great time the other night with my wife! Good music, drinks and a great environment!
I feel bad for anyone that went for Luke Combs. 20 minutes to get a beer, they ran out of water. Not sure how the fire Marshall didn’t shut it down for safety. Absolute s*** show.
Massive honky tonk that can feel intimate at the same time. Great concert venue, and they dont gouge you for beer. Awesome staff, too.
Great place for live music and line dancing. Cash only bar!
Absolutely love coyote Joes. We go here all the time for concerts, and the bartenders are always amazing!
Such a great venue, concerts are always awesome! No life like Coyote Joe life!
Was a nice place until last night when their security guy cussed me.i was nice I didnt say nothing out of the way and he cussed me and threatened to kick me out because someone took seats from our table.i was trying to explain to him and he wasnt having itI dont believe I will go back.i can find somewhere to go that appreciates me and my money
Awesome venue! Resonable priced drinks. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.
Great country bar. Outside area as well as a very big inside area that is 2 stories. They have pool tables, multiple bars, and great music!
They put on an awesome concert!!! Staff was friendly! Plenty of bars with fast service! Lots of room too!!
This isnt a country bar or a honky tonk. Might as well just called your self gillys bunch of city folk who wear there jeans tucked inside there boots to look country. If you have a country bar play country. Never again if you want a country bar or a honky tonk this isnt it go south to SC youll find one there.
Does the live music start at 11? Or are there other bands before then?
Enjoyable place to go hang out and listen to music. Nothing is perfect, but everything is comfortable. Never had My issues with staff or other people.
Went here with some of my buddies and was wearing a do rag around my dreadlocks which in my opinion is similar to a baseball cap anyways paid walked into the club and got grabbed by a bouncer and told I couldn’t wear my do rag and when I was arguing to him that it’s the same as a baseball caps he proceeded to kick me out so if this place is going to make it mandatory you can’t wear something on your head then everyone needs to abide by that role and not just some
So fun!! Concerts here are big but also intimate I love it
We had a really boring experience. Only a lot of old people and really unfriendly security. I wouldnt recommend a visit.
The yee yee boys were getting ornery, bring about 20 Snickers bars and youll be alright
Well this place sucks . Now maybe its because Im from the west coast but nobody twos steps out here. Even when they where line dancing people were all over the place. Having to pay cash for every thing is also not worth it.
Absolutely an amazing place to have a great time with friends or by yourself. Awesome house band #OutOfTheBlue
Hello my name is John Richard belt Frazier and Im clay Walkers cousin I had a hell of a time finding my ticket I couldnt even get the darn thing printed out but Im going to show up at the door maybe yall can look it up for me but I bought I think two of them I dont know but Im by myself I didnt mean about 2 but anyway I hope clay knows Im coming I hope I can see him tell him Johnny will be there within the next hour and a half I waited 27 years get my cousin a hug anyway Ill see you in a bit peace
Fun place, house band is awesome. Cheap drinks on 123 night. Good times to be had here.
Fist time here for the chase matthews concert had a good time. Grow up just down the road and never been there
Whether it’s on a Wednesday night for line dancing and bull riding or Friday or Saturday for a concert or just the 1,2,3 night this place is a good spot to hit.
Love this place! Its my new favorite venue! ❤️
The staff is really rude. It was way overcrowded, no room to move. I will not be back here because the staff was so rude to me and my party.
Went to see Blake Shelton rudest bouncer I ever meet. Ran over a person walking with a trash can never will go back free or not
The staff was very rude and unhelpful. Claimed I had fake tickets when i bought them from their website. They were just unbelievable rude.
Great place, awesome vibe, plenty to do even dare to ride a bull
Great club. I love this place. They always have some good performers.
A little Smoky, but fun venue for concert & country dancing. Bar is cash only!
Women brought dog in and cussed me out because i said it was pretty. won’t be returning
Place is cringy lol. and for a country bar it sure is in the hood. Sound here is also a joke.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will definitely go back.
Huge place! Can hold a nice crowd. Several bars, pool tables, outdoor patio, and food.
Great establishment, great security, great shows and most importantly cold beer!
My wife’s favorite live music spot. Always a good time.
Best country club, with the largest dance floor Ive ever been one.
Eh, it is what it is. I wish theyd do some more updating. WiFi would be awesome since you have no service.
Super fun!!! This has been one of my favorite spots for over 10 years!
Super Fun Venue. Good music, drinks, atmosphere, and really all around top notch.
Had a great time there for ciaa weekend.looking forward to my next visit.
Nice place. Need to be more specific on band instructions.
Fun, unique bar in Charlotte. Have to love the bonfire now.
Staffs are rude and unwelcoming. The doorman is openly xenophobic.
Wish it was a tad bigger but hey still love it clay Walker was wonderful ! Thank you!!
Went here for a friends birthday and had a blast.
Great concert venue and pool tables upstairs!
Best place to go to enjoy country music and a reasonable price.
Really fun experience. House band is pretty good
Great atmosphere and superb drinks lol
