High Life Smoke Shop North Tryon

This is a small, but very cool shop. lots of glass selections as well as great customer service. the employee whose name is layla helped me and my boyfriend pick out the cutest hand painted heart glass and was so patient with us the whole time. she was the best to talk to throughout this experience. 10/10!!

I started coming to this location almost 2 months now and from the start I’ve always been embraced with love from all employees especially Tati, Shane and Kj. They’re normally the ones I see most and each on of them help me with knowledge on what products are best. More importantly, they’ve managed to treat me as a person and not just a customer. Tati was one of the first to greet me and help me with my needs, She’s always working hard and show so much kindness and gratitude. Shane as Kj are AWESOME; both guys are always embracive and very effective with making sure my needs and even the customers that show when I come in they are quick and always balance to not just treat us as customers but human beings. These three employees are the true LIFE in “High life”

I have had a great experience every time I come here. The person who helped me, Bella, was very understanding and patient with me ask I asked questions about different products. She was able to explain everything to me is simple terms for me to understand. Definitely a place Im coming back too :)

Place is garbage. Made 4 trips here to to get the third Vape box and they all broke within a week. Was told I had to have original box. So i made another trip with box and another guy tells me no returms!! If youre gonna run a buisness and back your products then do just that. That must explain why they shut the website down. Lol.....Shop eleswhere if you want to feel safe about your purchase.

This was my first time in this shop, Anna and Bella were so amazing and helpful to me! They made me feel comfortable and welcomed as soon as I came in. Anna in particular was genuine in the way she spent her time asking questions to better recommend something for me. I had a great experience and I hope these girlies manager and/or boss will see this and recognize their amazing efforts!

I called last night right before 7 PM and the young lady that answered the phone had a bad attitude had no knowledge of vapes Hoyles or juices and would not even get up off a stool to go look for what I asked for now when I pass by, I seen what I needed in the window so she obviously just wanted to stay on her phone, which she was on when I passed And not do her job people like this need to be fired immediately! Y’all lost business I went to Buddha bazaar instead no other highlife treats me that way get rid of that girl she is no good !!!!

Sorry to say just the vibe and way these 2 lady’s carry themselves mainly Betty older lady , every time I ask to look at something she act slow and not want us to look at it I understand if that was protocol ,,but I seen others do same just her tone and vibe was way better ,only when they had to serve us I don’t want say they or store are bias to other nationalities and I’m not using as a trying get sone kind of favor ,,,but we are customers and I was looking for a gifts was gonna spend good amount but I just ended up buy a bag of tobacco to assure them we came to shop but even that was difficult crazy dark racist vibes , hope owner is a lot better but if they related I understand I don’t have problems going elsewhere but please if you want leadership a better vibe someone that will make it happen then these 2 are not ,it was a very bias couple team of a younger lady and a older lady working that shift ,,the owner need to dig deep find a spark plug type persons young hungry to learn and help build this place .

Experience was great!! Loved the selection of merchandise. Was helped by Meredith. She was so easy to talk with and very knowledgeable. She helped my husband and I and was very patient with us as I tried to make up my mind on what product I wanted. Also, loved the fact that my dog was welcomed there too. This store was way better than the one on Central. The girl that works at the Central store was very rude. She made me feel as if she had something better to do than talk with me. Never will I visit the one on Central again!!!

Nice place to get your gummies from. I been here twice and ladies at the shop were super nice and helpful with what I was looking for. I will say to stay away from the Mike Tyson Bites. Did not do anything for me,but boyyy the shroom gummies were amazing! You have to stop by and grab those. I bought two packs when I was there.

We were visitors from out of town and we stopped in to pick up a couple of things from the store and we were absolutely blown away. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they took the time to really make sure that we were taken care of. We definitely recommend shopping here and giving them all of your money lol. We would make that hour and a half drive to purchase from this store anytime. Keep up the great work!!!!

Work vs pay wise this was not the best experience (which was verbalized multiple times) but the many great customers and coworkers I was able to meet during this job was what made it worth. 90% of us have left the store for the new year and Don’t regret our decision at all. Sad to see the recent review before mine saying we weren’t doing our jobs when most of the recent reviews and verbal responses/feedbacks as well as sales tell otherwise. I have alot of the customers from the smoke shop coming to my new job telling me how much they miss us, which is weird to say for people who don’t do their job. But aside from that, the store is currently under a new direct manager and I see nothing but good happening here in the future under her.

Cole is an amazing employee. He is a straight shooter that only recommends what’s best for you not what sells. The whole experience was excellent, and he made sure my device worked in every function before letting me pay for it. Optimal retail experience they get my business whenever I’m in town!

Make sure you do your research before purchasing electronic items. Purchased a setup which I was told was for dry flower which in turn turned out to be for concentrate. Item was on sale for 29 bucks. The display case was labeled as it being able to be used with both but after done online research it says the device cannot be used for dry flower.

We love this High Life. We have been going here for the last 3 years. Everyone has always been knowledgeable friendly and always gives great customer service. We went in today and Peyton greeted us as soon as we walked in, helped us with our order without hesitation and made sure we had everything we needed. We went all the way here from the other side of town because we always have a great experience even though other vape shops are closer. Thank you Peyton!

Just found out half the staff is gone. Best decision they ever made. 90% of the time I came in there none of them are doing their job or they were outside smoking. it took 20 minutes to get a simple item. Maybe theyll finally get competent employees that can do the job 🙏

Asked for a fruity flavor. Was told a flavor was lemonade. Purchased it. Stepped out of the store 3 feet and released she handed me a menthol/iced. Walked right back in and was told “no returns” don’t shop here they mess up and make you pay for it.

This store’s selection is okay at best. Not much variety. I’m not sure if all of the employees are like this but the guy I talked to was very uneasy. At first, I only had a couple simple questions which seemed to be no problem. Upon asking about the prices of several different pieces he began to become noticeably irritated. I started to feel Iike I was asking him to do too much but then realized I work 60 hours a week and never bat an eye. This may be a personal perspective but I came to the conclusion that this location hires a bunch of lazy stoners who are only mildly knowledgeable of their limited inventory. Displeased and dissatisfied. If you are looking to find a GOOD piece don’t go to this shop. Nothing here but closed minded potheads who have poor social skills.

I walked in needing help. They rescued me and provided me steps chill..or a beginner hookah purchaser. I felt supported and they were beyond knowledgeable. I will purchase all future hookah needs from this spot right here! I love my hookah already. Great choice overall!!

If I could give a 0 star I would. Just came here to a retail store and before I was greeted as a customer, I get yelled at from across the store to get out without a mask. I asked Anthony, the clerk, if he always tells as customers before he greets them. Then after I went out to get my mask (which I forgot because I was riding my bicycle), I come and ask to purchase something and they had 7 left. I asked to take them and he said he cannot, he has to keep stock. Does that make any sense for a store that depends on sales to not sell their stick to a customer willing to buy it all? I was trying to support local business but with the nasty atmosphere, I will take my future purchases online. Good luck surviving the economic crisis with this type of customer service.

I went to this location and the university plaza store. This location gave me the wrong pods I needed after telling them the ones I needed multiple times cause he kept asking. Walked back inside to find out they won’t give me the correct one. Telling me I need to pay for another one instead of nicely exchanging it because they screwed up. I don’t recommend this place cause they don’t take responsibility for their actions.

First time buying anything from a smoke shop. Demya was very helpful because I had a lot of questions about the CBD being that I needed something for pain. She was knowledgeable and patient, will definitely be back once Im finished my products.

I just had a 1st & worse experience with them. I purchased 2 bang puff that was suppose to be 2000 puffs , took 4 puffs & it went out. All I wanted was a exchange , they wouldn’t do that‼️The sales guy said they was good, but then the young lady said she would of never advised those 🤷🏽‍♀️

Very great experience at this store. All the staff who were working helped me tn rough my whole process there. I was shopping for some different Juul pod flavors and since there are so many I was stuck and didnt know which to choose. They gave me their honest opinions on all the flavors and it took quite a long time and they did not for a second get annoyed or have a bad attitude in anyway which i appreciated a lot since sometimes some people can get frustrated at the amount of time it takes me to simply choose a flavor. So I really did appreciate all of them their. Even while checking out sometimes my ID doesnt scan bc it is a bit bent through the barcode part, they were extremely patient with me and made my whole experience just a lot less stressful for me and I liked that a lot. Though I didnt catch there names the women and mens there were just amazing helping me shop and I will 100% go back there every time I need more pods! Everyone in this store is amazing. I get kratom and they are very knowledgeable about all the different types. Grace is so amazing. They are my number one choice to go to. They have a huge variety of vapes and oils as well at very reasonable prices.

This Is A well-stocked High Life but you either get very good service or you get ignored one or the other. If you dont know exactly what you want expect to get treated like you are bothering the staff. If there are more than one or two people in the store expect to get rushed. if you know exactly what you want and you are looking for something specific that they carry you can go in tell them exactly what you want check it out and leave and youll be fine otherwise plan on a hit-or-miss experience.

Train your employees! On several different occasions your employees showed that they don’t know what they’re selling. It is apparent that the company isn’t worried about the overall experience. Decent selection is about the only good thing I could say about this location. You just have to be sure you know exactly what you need, because asking them for help is not an option!

Matt was super helpful as I was trying to sort through all the brands of all sorts of stuff that they have here. I ended up finding exactly what I needed and even got 10% off from my purchase. Highly recommend this place.

I bought some kratom that was stale and smelled like it had gone bad. I should have been suspicious because it was the only strain from that brand that was on sale. I tried to get a refund but the employees were less than helpful and told me they only give refunds if there is something wrong with a product. My fiance then spoke to Grace to try and fix the situation and she was extremely condescending and rude. I understand the policy on opened product, but if the product has gone bad and it is still on the shelf it shouldnt be sold in the first place. Grace refused to give us the contact information of the district manager. I would like the owners information because this is just unacceptable. I have never tried such bad stale kratom in my life. The right thing to do is give a refund.

Came and waited 10 minutes for the gentlemen to check in his order and assist me. He convinced me that a specific product is the best so I purchased it. I spent 30.00 bucks, then walked to the car to see if it would work on my cartridge, it didn’t work so I walked right back in to let him know. Never left the parking lot never even moved my car. Get inside the store thinking maybe he will let me change it . He then says, “We can’t exchange it, are manager changed the policy”. I let him know I will never use it, I’ll take something cheaper, he says” I can’t my manager won’t allow it”. I say well let me speak with the manager, he says,” our manager got into trouble so he was deported, he treats up like peasants”. Then he insist on me spending another 20.00 bucks on something else. I come here all the time I told him. He then says, “sale it to a friend, I can switch it with a different color pen”. It’s crazy that he literally has just pulled the product off the truck and because I walked out the door I couldn’t exchange it. Why would I switch out the same pen that does not work. It’s a shame....

This place is a joke. Bought a kilo of kratom from them and we opened it once we got home. It smelled rotten and was discolored. We figured maybe it was just a different strain, so we tried it and both got sick. Made several attempts to contact them for a refund and were met with rude and completely unprofessional customer service. Grace, the store manager, interrupted me several times to repeat their no refund policy and offered us a 10% discount. Why would we buy more garbage??? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

I called to see if they had what I needed and they had it waiting for me once I arrived. In and out within 5 minutes. I love thos place and the people who work there even more!!! Customer service at its finest!

Bought a cbd disposable vape pen. Went home to try it and it didn’t work. Not a single puff. Called and asked to exchange and they said I should have tried it in the store.They said I should have been told to do that by the employee who sold the vape to me. The employee did not. Now I can’t return or exchange because a mistake an employee made. Customers are being punished for employees carelessness. Do not shop here.

Do not shop here. Employees are mislead to high hell on the product they are selling. Spent nearly $100 on new salt nic devices and pods. Only to find out that the pods they sold us were for regular nicotine. All of the pods burnt out within 4 days due to them not being the correct pod. When I called to confront the store about it they told me they only had one pod for the system which I knew was a lie due to having purchased one prior to this incident. Before hyping up a device for being an “Awesome salt nicotine system.” Make sure your company knows what they’re actually selling. ESPECIALLY when you have “No return” policy, and when the employee in the store refuses to test devices and check pods before selling them. This whole experience has literally left a bad taste in my mouth, and an even worse imprint of high life in my mind. Don’t shop here, it’s a waste of time and money.

Came here once; my last stop, from now on. Matt is the man. He never hesitates to spend ample time with you to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for. Grade-A service.

The guys here are super helpful and nice and the selection is pretty diverse. You can get everything from a five dollar glass piece to a volcano here. Its location makes it hard to park sometimes though, and series theres a line to checkout and youll be waiting for someone to grab something from the case for you.

Youngins dont know & dont care about good customer service at all. They just halfway do their jobs and find other people to blame when they get called out. They were both standing around doing nothing upon entrance and then when it was time to work and the self service machine was down they both blamed somebody else like they couldnt have just done it themselves... Came at 9:58...refused service cause my guess is the two lazy workers wanted to leave and close earlier. Whatever the motive was it isnt an excuse, the hours listed are until 10 PM which is why i specifically came to this location. Ill be taking my business to Highlife University where they truly care about customer satisfaction.

I bought a brand of kratom they carry and the guy told me it was a great brand. Well it turned out to be complete garbage and they would not give me a refund or let me exchange it. I get kratom works different for everyone but I know garbage kratom when I take it. Its not their fault per say for the bad brand or batch but good customer service would let me get my 99 dollars back. Now I know why that bag was on sale so cheap for a kilo. SMH learned my lesson for sure. I would stay away from kratom pharmacy and be aware if you buy something and it turns out to be awful, they wont help you out with a refund or exchange.

OK for starters they have amazing glassware a lot of up-to-date Devices but yet spent $600 cache and refuse to give me a discount or even cut off 20 or 30 cents

Good store. They have a good selection of vap supplies, hookah supplies, and many other items that you can find by stopping in or just giving them a quick call. They also have disks for disk golf, and are located in a convienent location right off of North Tryon.

I come here 1-2 times a week and the staff here never fail to be amazing! Always helpful and friendly and knowledgeable! I would recommend this particular High Life to anyone!

I’ve been to a few high life’s and many different smoke shops but this is easily the worst. The customer service in person is alright but over the phone is horrible. If you don’t want to work I’m sure there are many others who have lost jobs and that would love your position during this virus. I felt like I was and unwanted bother as a customer.

It happen me too!.. They will not exchange or refund money. I mean the same day with reciept! WOW!!! Not Professional man! There are many places in the UNCC area.

A great little smoke shop a convenient distance from most things in the University area. Their selection of vapes, accessories, and glassware is good, and you can usually find whatever youre looking for. Prices are competitive with other big vaping retailers, so if youre looking for a good deal on vape gear, check out High Life before you pay too much somewhere else (looking at you, Mad Vapes)

I went in there last night and bought a bottle of “The Hype Collection Blue Slushee 3mg” . The bottle was already opened and less than halfway full. They said they can’t do anything. I’m not gonna use the juice due to not knowing what they or whoever did to it. They don’t care and they are selling items without checking the packaging or doing something to it. All in all I will not shop there again.

The employee sold me a product that was not as we agreed it was and when I I wanted a refund due to the the product not being what was discribed prior to purchase the manager did not give me the refund and so I will never buy anything form this company EVER again .
