Fry Street Public House

Visited public house on fry street multiple times and have always had a great time.Staff is very fun and makes you feel welcomed, and they are very knowledgeable on drinks and recipes.

Happen to go here on a Tuesday which is Karaoke night so if you are looking to do that or hear ppl on the mic then this is the night to do it, and its also the closest place I found from Winstar, so yeah its a drive. It felt good to do my Texas Karaoke debut at this place as well, had the crowd going especially being from the Oklahoma side.

This place is huge with plenty of space to dance. We run a podcast and enjoy seeing their posts on social media.There are literally activities every day of the week here.Monday throw back nightTuesday Karaoke nightsThursday college night and stop light partyFriday ladies nightSaturday social Saturdays (super packed)Sunday game night with a DJ and drink specials.This is probably the livest bar in Denton and its close to campus.

Honestly I was going to leave a 1 star but the GM and his security were very professional and understanding even going as far as inviting us back in and giving me my money back. I wasnt going to leave a review however some things need to be cleared up. Hannah and Peyton both of yall were very rude and extremely unprofessional, lets get something straight I DID NOT throw a drink on you thats not even my character to do something vulgar like that, so the fact that you used that as an excuse to have me removed from the establishment was extremely uncalled for. I will admit I threw 40 bucks on a 20 dollar tab because yall were very classless over a question my friend was asking. I do get you all were busy, and you probably didnt feel like asking 21 questions, However that doesnt give you the right to talk and treat people any kind of way. At the end of the day being a bartender is very stressful if you cant handle it leave, dont talk to people any kind of way and then when they call you out on it, you want to call security. Thats not cool at all and that goes to both of you. Now with that being said to the General Manager and his security THANK YOU, gentlemen yall did handle the situation very professional once again thank you.

The bartenders were great, however the rest of the staff was plan rude. I’ve NEVER been somewhere that forces people to stand up from sitting so they can take the bar stools away. Maybe 10 minutes later they came and took the table we had our drinks on. I simply asked the guy why he was taking the tables and his response was “I’m not going to argue with you. You can leave if you want” WOW I will never recommend this place ever!

This was my first time coming here, but I definitely won’t be going back. The bartenders ignored me & my friends all night(we’re black) each time we approached the bar they would see us & serve other people around us the entire night. You would like to think racism is dead, but then things like this happen.

I love going here because the atmosphere is wonderful, but I won’t be using my card here anymore. The last two times (that I’ve noticed) they’ve tipped themselves without my consent. I let it slide the first time because I had forgotten to close my tab before I left, but this most recent time (10/28) I only got one drink and closed my tab, my account was charged $6... however I just checked my account and it went up to $8. After reading multiple reviews of people running into the same problem, I think management needs to step their game up and talk to their employees.

I love the architecture and design of this bar but the drink deals aren’t any better than anyone else’s on fry street and the bottom bar is too welcoming to apex frat guys that want to rub their junk on your behind, super nice back patio though! Also what’s really weird is the bar has all kinds of weird rules about dress code when it’s IN THE MIDDLE of fry street where mostly college girls and guys come on the weekends to get drunk, not like this is in the middle of highland village or south lake, it’s just too pretentious for the demographic of people that come to this bar.

I came to this bar from a bar down the street I had 2 drinks total that night upon arrival. I come in order a beer and half way thru I need to use the restroom.So my buddy watches my beer for me. By the time I get back (not even finishing 1 beer) the bouncer is telling me I have to leave. I ask him why and he is reluctant to tell me. He just says I have to leave. I eventually leave, giving them no problems... I feel a bouncer should tell you what you did wrong in order to not do it again. I still do not know what I did I was dressed very nice and was friendly with all who I encountered. I am not sure I will ever be back. Luckily it did not ruin my night since all the other bars on fry street welcomed me openly. If it wasn’t for this I would’ve gave this bar a 1 star instead of 2. On top of that It kinda smelled.

First time going since I came to Denton two years ago, and to be honest I wasnt missing out. The atmosphere is okay but what really got me writing this is the bad/weird/outdated???? music they play. Its all repetitive, and not really good for dancing or keeping an upbeat atmosphere. Maybe come here if youre like already super drunk or something? idk

Came here for the first time and I had a pleasant experience. The music for the most part, was upbeat and I could dance to. Bartenders were pretty nice, and overall just good vibes at this place.

This place is not as bad as its being made out to be on here. The patio outside is a very nice place to hang out, and there almost always seems to be live music of some kind playing both inside and outside. Drink specials are pretty dope here too. People need to stop hating.

Horrible bartenders! Last Friday night I went with a friend bought two drinks total of 12.50. Monday morning woke up to my bank statement saying 41.00!Bartender told me the card reader wasnt working so she asked if I had cash.. I responded with a no. So she told me I had to leave a tab open.. I didnt mind... but wondering what happened while she carried my card? Anyway clearly closed out at 12.50.... still wondering why my statement is saying 41.00?We need more trustworthy people!!!!!!!!!Left millions of voicemails and nobody can give me a call back! Seriously?

Really great place for low priced drinks and dancing! My friends and I love coming to Public House when we’re on Fry st. I’ve met a ton of people here and we always have a great time!

Do not recommend going here. Security is definitely biased to who they let in. They would not let one of my brothers in because he had on shorts but a guy wearing the same exact clothing was let in not even 2 minutes after and we asked the guard why and he said the other guy slide him $20... Definitely will not be returning here any time soon or at all.

Please get better DJs😂😂😂 I love y’all club but bro the djs need to play some updated music would be 5 stars with a better dj the decent song ratio is 1 every 8 songs and please don’t reply like your djs are lit because they ain’t 💯🤷🏾‍♂️

Guy (or one of them) who checks IDs is a total jerk. People are fittingly douchey. Employees will not pay attention to you if you dont fit a type, and that type seemingly includes being white. Both me and my non-white friend were treated terribly while host was super friendly to others- and we were the only non-white or sorority/frat people there. Disappointing

I was there this past weekend. I bought one drink at 5.25, the next day on my bank account statement I saw the charge was 9.25. Pretty sure the bar tender decided to give himself a tip. Not cool. reasons why not Togo to fryst.

Went last week and the atmosphere was great. DJ knew just what to play. Best bar and bartenders you can find in Denton! Will definitely stop by more often.

Ruined my clean record. Recently got arrested for public intoxication at this bar. I was pushed into my girlfriend by a staff member who didnt bother to say excuse me. I told him/staff member its called excuse me was told no its called get the f**k out the way.I was just standing in line at the bar with my girlfriend trying to spend my hard earned money.Yet I was confronted by the bouncer who instead of asking what happened, told me to get the f**k out. While I turn to the door the bouncer pushed me from behind which led me accidentally knocking the initial staff member to the ground and falling on him. The bouncer then proceeded to choking me out.I was arrested shortly after and given a handful of orders to never return. I wasnt hurting anyone or pushing anyone but was treated like a criminal by the staff of this bar.

Poor bar, weak drinks and bad security. These guys are honestly no good. I got groped around my neck and another customer threatened to kill me. He grabbed me around my neck and squeezed. I told the security guard and he said he could only control what he sees. I will not be visiting the bar again. Worse customer service I was ever offered, cant even feel safe.

Biggest college bar on Fry St. Different theme each night. Nice staff, good drinks and music.

Barely anyone cared to put their masks on when not seated at a table. No social distancing. The people huddled together like sardines. If you wanting a night out, but dont want the rona, avoid this place.

Great for Dancing. Bad for drinks. I recommend visiting cheaper options then hitting up public house to bust some moves. Best atmosphere but over priced drinks. Great staff.

One of the places I would definitely check out every weekend I am on fry street. Got cheap drinks and good music.

Charged $10.50 to my card and tipped with cash.The Monday after someone decided to tip themselves and refunded the original 10.50 and charged 13.50 assuming I wouldnt notice. Called multiple times during open hours and no answer

Im new to TX and and live near denton, i went out to play pool one night and public house was a great first experience. Staff was welcoming drinks were fast, always a great time at ph.

More of a party vibe, especially when crowded. Pretty chill early in the week. Pool and darts upstairs. Drink specials are pretty good, as are most fry street bars.

These guys are so rude, they were sending me out, I was completing my drink. They just throw my drink out from me. I was not disturbing any one. These are racist guys.

The drinks slightly over priced, but good service. Great music always bringing in new DJs.

Thinking about going to any other bar before public house? Forget about it. Thought I was too drunk from 2 shots. Never spending my money here again. Save your money and spend it at any of the other bars where the staff actually respects a customer.

Very open and unique bars Ive seen (Public House) one of my favorite places to visit and it was my first time! Come check it out Thur-Sat!

Huge bar with two upstairs areas and and hide outside patio. I believe 4 bars that you can order drinks at. I heard they have changed the Dollar Doubles on Thursdays though :(. Always the spot where most people end up to turn up for the last hours of the night. They have karaoke on Tuesdays and other specials throughout the week.

Cool staff. Recommend visiting on sundays too for beer pong. They have great specials every day of the week.

Terrible place. Terrible staff. If you want to have a good night go wrong, this is the place to be because they will most assuredly find a way to turn a fun outing, into an unnecessarily upsetting outing.

This is by far the worst bar experience of my life. Staff is overly aggressive and rude. Stay away. There are plenty of other bars to visit on Fry Street.

No review, just a comment that this place used to have live music (but no more?) I remember seeing Brave Combo, Billy Goat, etc. in the mid-90s.

A building filled with drunk lower-mid 20-year olds. Dont be surprised to see a fight or two... thats all Fry though. Had my fair share of great times here though!

Brother got kicked out for trying to help his wife during a mild panic attack then the group chat for fry street kept them both from going anywhere else....extremely disappointed at the staff here and their fake-cop mentality, definitely wont bring friends or family here anymore.

My card was charged twice last weekend when I was there. I tried calling to get my card refunded since I don’t live down there anymore and no one answered the phone or got back to me… very disappointed…

Not a bad placeoverall just not my cup of tea. And single shots are $3.50 theyre a bit pricey for what you get.

Has more of a sports bar feel than any of the other fry street bars and drinks are very affordable.
