Bye Stress-Relax Island Massage Meriden Mall

I’ll be honest, I’ve had a lot of massages and never one in a mall. This was an impromptu stop while getting into town via road tripping and they were the only place still open in town.What a TREAT! Beyond skillful! Truly impressed. Yes, you can hear some mall background noise, but if you are in the area and you don’t go spend an hour on one of their tables you are missing out.

I’ve been visiting this place in the mall almost every weekend. One hour foot massages are my favorite. Everyone walks out of this place happy and they all say they will be back next week.

Im giving them 2 stars. The lady that did my massage was great! However, when I went to pay I only had $4 for a tip,and they thought it was ok to start laughing at me. And to be clear, I wasnt in the mall for this I just walked by and thought it was a good idea. Very disrespectful.

The message therapist that provided my message was very nice. They listened to where I though the message efforts were needed which was my neck and shoulders and they focused on it and actually did a very good job at releasing some tension in my neck. I was quite pleased with his efforts. The store is nicely decorated, the message area is semi private and overall it was a very positive experience. I highly recommend folks to check them out.

The owner Lee and his staff are wonderful and friendly. It was my second time there (I went the day before too) and I was satisfied with my massages. I did the 15 minute chair massage twice. Today the lady that did it for me was attentive and noticed I was uncomfortable at first. She made sure to ask me if everything was okay and adjusted the pressure (I’m very skinny and petite so I appreciated the gesture). Other than that they complimented me and my boyfriend saying we were good together and Lee said I was a sweetie :). Come here for the reasonable prices, good massages, and the friendly staff!!! They also have the little reward cards with boxes they check every time you visit and once they are all filled, you get a free massage.

I can’t say enough about this place. The massage therapists are all excellent and there is very little wait time. The price is excellent—$65/hour plus tip (PLS DO TIP). They prefer cash, so you know but they have a cash machine on site if you need to grab some.

I asked for 30 minutes, was told to wait a while, then only given a 10-minute massage and charged for 20 minutes and at a different rate than advertised in the front of the store. It felt awkward and uncomfortable, plus it was loud. I dont recommend

First time getting a full body massage and what a wonderful feeling. Great experience left feeling completely relaxed and pain free. The women was able to relieve the knots in my back and shoulders and it was simply amazing. Definitely recommend 🙏

Terrible!!!massage was just OK however at the end of the massage they are basically begging you for tips. I brought my daughter and her friend there for their birthdays and left them there while I shopped when they left and they gave them a $18 tip. The women were badgering them for more money. how disgusting to do this to two teenagers disgraceful do not go here!!!I spent $140 on these massages disgusting!!!!!!!!!!I’ll I will never go back and do not recommend this place go anywhere else!!!!! they treated my daughter so terrible at the end speaking to each other under their breath in a different language and making them feel so awkward do not make the same mistake.. lost customers and I will be voicing my opinion to everyone I know do not go here

Came for a chair massage. It was fantastic and very well done. I had the only guy and he had strong hands and knowledge in massage. My back feels great. Definitely coming back. Great price.

The BEST massages I’ve ever had!Jun and Yuyu are the absolute best. Magical hands. Very fairly priced. Never had any issues whatsoever. Highly highly recommend!

Mixed feelings about this place:Website: sucks (1 star). No pricing information, etc. No clear instructions on how to get there, etc (as in map of the mall inside and outside, etc). I got in thru the male half of Macys external entrance. Have not figured out yet if there is an easier path from the outside parking lot.New location: awesome (5 stars). Quiet and dim lighting, surprisingly few people waiting inside for a Friday evening. Nice assortment of chairs, beds, couches, etc. Private areas for tables.Language barrier: not fun. I was not really able to describe my issue. I had to point, on the brochure, for what massage I wanted, I could not describe it verbally. I think the woman has somewhat better English, based on a brief phone conversation.Massage: was done by the guy, good pressure but not overly hard, good variety of techniques, but it did not feel like he was able to locate the knots and specifically work them out. Otherwise, the 30 minutes were so relaxing and it was so quiet and dim inside that I was getting towards falling asleep... By the way, dont go for just 20 minutes, 30 minutes is basically minimum for him to try all his methods on you! Also, I appreciated that he does not stop cold after the time is up, but does a brief post-massage cooldown techniques. Otherwise, also the warm-up vs cool-down should actually be a bit longer for both... I dont know if the one-hour version is better.I am not sure if tipping is expected in a place like this. I tipped, but I am not sure I am expected to.Average rating 3 stars? It would be nice to be able to easier explain my specific issue to the guy. If the woman has better English, maybe she can be used as an interpreter? Also, maybe I will try deep tissue next, see if the guy is capable of higher pressure than I already experienced. On the other hand, females and slim people should probably go for the woman instead, unlikely she will be pressing hard enough for slim people to be uncomfortable/in pain. So far I have not seen any of the therapeutic special techniques and special benefits mentioned in the brochure, it was your average type of massage...

I bought a Groupon here for my sister I bought the 50 minute chair massage halfway through the massage they stopped and said the Groupon was never paid for and they demanded money !!! I sent them all the documents stating this Groupon was purchased and then they said ok can you please swipe to redeem the Groupon so I did only to get a call back from my sister a few minutes later saying they were still demanding money because they said the GROUPON WAS ALREADY USED!!!!!! And she still had to pay !!! Absolutely horrible !! Never ever buying anyone a gift purchase for this location again !!!! Definitely beware

A wonderful place to get a message especially if you are at Westfarms for anything, sometimes I will go just for the message. I have been going for sometime and the messages are always amazing, they even add some variation to it so no two are exactly alike. They have very fair rates especially when comparing them to other Message establishments offering similar services. Westfarms mall was always a favorite place to go, with Bye Stress I enjoy the place even more. Good Service, Highly Recommended.

This place is an A++ !!! Staff is professional and so nice. All of the Massage Therepst’s give the most amazing massages. I travel the country and work in malls. I’ve been to almost every mall massage place out there. Believe me when I say… this is the best I have been to !! I’ve visited this place about 10-15 times in the last 3 months….and they are consistently amazing !! Highly recommend !!!!!

Probably the best massage therapy Ive ever experienced. Only reason I give it 4 star is there is a huge language barrier. I may have to try Google translate next time I go. Really friendly staff.
